Urgh, I had a perfect plan for the events of Hanafuda Part 3 to take place in autumn because the arcs' titles refer to spring summer and autumn; there should be an important scene taking place during Momijigari festival (autumn equivalent of Hanami) followed by Goemon visiting his ancestor's graves on the specific national shinto holiday for grave visiting...

And that goddamn holiday falls on September 23, while Momijigari takes place from the end of September to the beginning of December.

the curse of remembering will haunt me forever.

moments i cherish so deeply tarnished by the inevitable of them leaving soon, either me forgetting them or the people i made them with forgetting me and forever turning them tangy.

it hurts to think that ill never be able to bite into a crunchy red apple without hearing my brother mocking me for eating it warm. ill never be able to drink mint lemonade without being reminded of when i dropped it all over myself and my sister had laughed, a laugh kinder than the one i was used to and cleaned me up as i cried. ill never be able to watch movies from my childhood due to the crude jokes my friends and i had made about it. ill never look at the worn, navy blue cap thrown astray on my floor without recalling screaming about it with my best friend.

everything will forever hold a crushing significance to me, the blessing of a memory whittled down to a curse. it seems so insignificant now, all these events sparking a bittersweet joy in my chest, embers floating around and burning me up from the inside, dark, charred organs forever marred with the feeling of living through those sweet and sour memories.

I actually do feel bad every time I go up to my friend to complain about how bad I’m doing in writing. I know she has my back, but it still feels shitty unloading all that stuff on her.

... uuuuuund ich habe euch nicht vergessen!

Äh. Hallo. Ich schreibe euch noch einen Epilog, versprochen. Und ich bin auch noch am Leben. Ich bin lediglich komplett von meiner Masterarbeit vereinnahmt und lebe seit August in der Bibliothek. Ich habe sogar Hausschuhe und einen Bademantel eine sehr lange kuschelige Jacke dort, um nicht zu erfrieren. Die gute Nachricht ist, ab und zu gehe ich an diesem Buch vorbei und denke an euch:

Meine Abgabe ist Mitte März und danach habe ich zwei Wochen frei, für die das Schreiben des Epilogs ganz fest eingeplant ist! :)

Manche werden es vielleicht geahnt haben und ich leugne es nicht: Ich bin außerdem inzwischen in ein anderes Fandom abgewandert. Aber falls sich hier jemand für Sherlock Holmes interessiert, findet ihr die Ergebnisse meiner momentan spärlichen Freizeit auf Ao3.
