What are some random headcanons about Janis you have?

HOHOOO DUDE YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PERSON

disclaimer these are all based on the musical version of her and from a list i made to base her personality off of before i started writing in 2021 so some have changed and whatnot anyhoo

-she met regina in ballet class when they were three. they went to the same preschool too (but different elementary schools)

-the ‘on wednesdays we wear pink’ also started in preschool

-she started working out in her senior year for the SOLE purpose of clocking bigots with as much force as possible

-her dad died when she was four (i haven’t included it in any of my fics but he died from some heart disease kinda shit bc why not)

-she’s GREAT at english, okay at history and piss poor at math and science

-in college she starts dyeing the blonde bits of her hair funky colors with temporary dye and then just before she graduates she cuts it all off and has shoulder-length hair for a solid 10 years lol

-she reads about alien conspiracy theories in her spare time

-she has a WILD sweet tooth

-she’s clumsy AF

-her dad was french so she actually speaks french fluently but pretends not to so she can stay in an easier class (and also stay in damian’s class)

-she’s lactose intolerant

-she steals damian’s and cady’s jackets a lot, most of the time without realizing. and cady’s doesn’t fit so she uses it as a blanket most of the time

I realized I had forgotten to swatch for the button hole before starting the second sleeve. And an Hour later I have a swatch with 8 button holes before I got happy with how they look. The pattern basically says "make buttonhole" and I'm not experienced enough with garment knitting to go on just that.

I did manage to confirm that despite sizing up my yarn, I'm still going to need 1 inch/25mm buttons. I don't currently have 6 matching 25mm buttons that would look good with this yarn, so decisions have to be made. And unfortunately my brain has decided the best possible button would be a rose gold coloured shank back(?) button preferably that looks like an actual flower. Which, good luck to me for finding that relatively affordably.

I think I'm just going to knit the cardigan and decide once it's all sewn up. If it fits well and I think I'll wear it, I'll spend the money to get Nice buttons.

#swatching the button holes only took an hour of testing and writing and googling tutorials for things #but looking at buttons on ebay/etsy/random craft stores... that was three hours #i had fun tho tbh i love shopping :)#there IS novel reasons for the Ideal Buttons!!!#theres no actual description of buttons or anything. but still Novel Reasons #the Guy who Knit the Cardigan is representing by gold. like his hairs and eyes are described as golden regularly #i think its actually like a pale gold? but i think rose gold with the pinkish would look better with this pink #(i don't actually own anything rose gold i plan on taking a swatch with me to Somewhere with Rose gold to see them together)#also this is a designer pattern. the buttons deserve a bit of Class. i found some chanel buttons that would be great if i give up on flower #another thing about the Guy who Knits is that he like. CONSTANTLY is bringing the protag flowers. somehow not bl btw #off the top of my head i'm 100% sure he brings him carnations and i'm prettyyyyy sure roses?#sadly there's no canon colour on the carnations. the list of questions i have for the author grows every day #but the flower buttons Speak to me. maybe if i go for more simple buttons i can get a carnation applique or something #also i really really hope that i can read my own handwriting in the (v optimistic) two months it'll be before i knit the button bands

Uhhhhh if I had to pick: Ripper, Dawn, Wayne, Damien, or Scott. Those five are always such a joy to see whenever they interact with someone.

But I DO think ANYONE could win and I will be so, SO excited to see who it’ll be. I will never ever be disappointed in who wins, even if it’s not one of those five, because everyone is playing their characters SO well. The amount of effort that the people who play them put into making these characters so likable is incredible. I could talk about how much I adore their characterization and their character arcs and their creativity for hours and hours and hours and I could still find more to talk about.

I am so, SO proud of everyone’s work that they have put into it, I will never shut up about it. /gen

my narrator could definitely look more human or even have a full stylized human look but I think he would hate the idea of looking fully human to any extent. even his humanoid form would originally leave such a distaste for him because the feeling of control resides in not being the human, the player, but instead being the narrative. so it’s more of a ‘I would never stoop to being human to any extent because they are weak and powerless things that barely have any agency for themselves’ kind of thinking that only a certain button could break him out of that line of thinking

obssessed with the suite eyrie has in radz-at/han that I’m building in my mind

#it’s a smaller suite—all one room #it’s got arched lattice windows along one side of the room #with these beautiful thin gossamer white curtains on them #the adjoining wall is all doors that overlook one of the gardens #it’s often host to all sorts of creatures in the mornings #like peacocks and wild parrots #there’s two beds tucked away behind partitions #and white curtains draped over the beds (bc mosquitoes are certainly a problem)#they love the suite when it rains bc all of the windows are open air and let it the cool air #and they love watching the rain and the light in the suite reflecting off of the rich colors and tile of the suite #and yeah there’s two bed but eyrie and Estinien end up sharing one a lot #the night terrors go brr #me slapping the top of this place in my head you can fit so many fic ideas #I have got to find a prompt list for myself bc I’m sitting here with ideas and general vibes but no real direction to take them in #not looking tk be asked for prompts but looking for prompts as a jumping off point #Owen talks

It's really a shame that I've only really seen Valentina shipped with Prince Alonso or (more occasionally) with Elena. Don't get me wrong, those are nice enough ships.
