angst with comfort. they have a nightmare where they lost you.
sylus
Tumblr media
You were in the N109 Zone for hunters business, and he only found out from Mephisto. Sylus got on his bike and rushed over to your location to demand answers. Why are you there? Why are you alone? Why didn't you tell him anything?
Once he saw you in the middle of a battleground surrounded by unconscious bodies and wrapping a bandage around your left arm, Sylus's breath hitched.
"So the kitten got scratched, despite how ferocious she is." He reached out to help you with your bandage, but you took a step back and frowned at him.
"Don't touch me."
"Oh?" He raised a brow at your cold tone. "Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, sweetie?"
You gritted your teeth and turned away from him.
"Stay away from me, Sylus."
Confusion flashed in his eyes. You didn't look like you're in a joking mood, and the way you looked at him with empty eyes felt like a stab to his chest.
"What's wrong?" he asked carefully, not taking a single step towards you just in case you start running away. "Have I done something to piss you off?"
"Done something?" you laughed bitterly. "What haven't you done?"
No, there wasn't just emptiness in your eyes. There was disgust. Repulsion, directed at him. You haven't looked at him in that way for a long time, and he was reminded of how much he hated it.
"Sweetie, let's talk -"
He made the mistake of reaching out to touch you, so you slapped his hand away and jumped back.
"I said stay away from me! Don't.... don't talk to me anymore, don't follow me, just don't.... just stay out of my life! I don't want to be with a monster like you!"
A monster.
So, that's what it was.
He can't say he was surprised.
He always had a feeling that one day, you'll come to your senses and ask yourself, how could you ever love someone like him?
Looks like you've finally woken up from whatever spell he put on you. Now, you want nothing to do with him.
"Stay away from me." You took even more steps back, your figure was starting to merge with the shadows. "Goodbye, Sylus."
His feet were stuck to the bloodstained ground as he watched you disappear in his life forever.
Suddenly, he became aware of how cold the air is, and how quiet it is around him. His heart twinged, as if he'd been pierced by multiple daggers. His body felt numb and empty.
Standing became difficult, and his eyes felt like anchors that demanded to be shut. He gasped for air as he feels his chest tightening, but he only felt even more drowned.
He couldn't breathe.
He couldn't move.
He wanted go run after you, but bloodied hands had sprung out of nowhere and started pulling his feet deeper in the ground.
"Sylus..."
"...."
"Sylus."
His eyes opened and squinted from the setting sun's light that slipped past the curtains of his bedroom windows.
"Hey. Are you okay?"
He sat up and frantically scanned his surroundings. He ran a hand through his hair and felt all the sweat that were on his forehead.
"Sylus?"
His eyes slowly met yours, and they lingered for a long time. It's as if he's waiting and searching for something.
"You had a nightmare, right?" You looked at him with concern. "Are you okay? I'm gonna go get you a glass of water. I'll be back - "
"No, wait."
Sylus caught your hand as you tried to leave. His thumb caressed the back of your hand and observed it for a moment before taking a deep breath.
"Just stay here with me. I just...need you here."
"Okay." You sat still next to him and let him fiddle with your hands, as it seems to be giving him comfort. "What happened? Are you okay?"
Sylus tangled his fingers against yours, keeping his eyes on your joined hands. "You're not...." He paused for a second as he felt his throat drying up nervously. "You're not repulsed by me, are you?"
"What?"
"You know what l've done.... What I do, and who I am. Do you still... Do you still...."
You were quick to understand what he was trying to ask, and what he might have dreamt about.
"I love you." You looked into his eyes that seems to lack its usual life and confidence. "I know what you do and who you are, and I still love you, Sylus. Whatever happened in your dream.... it's not real."
He closed his eyes and let your words sink in deep in his heart, replaying them to forget about the painful words you threw at him in his nightmare.
It wasn't real.
What's real is you, in front of him, holding his hands and you telling him that you love him.
What's real is you caring about him and sticking by his side even when he's feeling vulnerable.
Sylus' silent reply came with a lingering kiss on your forehead. He wrapped one arm around your shoulders and guided you to lie back down. Once your back is flat against the soft mattress, Sylus pulled you close to him.
Even though he didn't say anything, you felt his gratitude with the way he embraced you with such warm, gentle, and secure arms.
As he closed his eyes, he continued to replay the words you told him.
At last, he was gifted with a peaceful dream.

xavier
Tumblr media
Surrounded by speck of lights, Xavier spun you around as you and him dance slowly underneath the stars.
You two were on your way home after a dinner date when you heard music blasting from a nearby concert venue. Live music echoes throughout the park with the big water fountain, completely empty since it's already quite late.
Xavier gazed at the way your face lit up as you laugh after suddenly losing balance and almost stepping on his feet.
"You didn't accidentally drink alcohol tonight, did you?" He held your hands tightly to keep you stable.
"Of course not! I just got a little dizzy, that's all."
"Maybe you just need to sleep more." he says half-jokingly as he rested his hands on your waist. "Instead of leaving the bed so early in the morning, you should just wait for me to wake you up. I'll be your alarm clock."
"Pfft. If that's the case, we might be sleeping forever." You cupped his face with your hands as he looks at you with bright eyes.
"That doesn't sound too bad." he whispers, leaning closely to brush his lips against yours. "I don't mind, as long as you're next to me. We have all the time in the world."
Just as he closed the distance between your lips, you suddenly froze and moved back.
"Hmm? What's - "
You let go of him and put a hand on your chest, right over your heart.
"It... it hurts..."
Your face suddenly turned pale.
"I - can't b-breathe..."
Xavier felt his world stop as your legs gave out. His arms stopped your knees from hitting the ground, and his body became numb after feeling how clammy your skin had gotten.
"X-xavier...."
He found himself struggling to take a breathe, too.
He was petrified.
He didn't know what to do.
It was happening again. He was losing you all over again, just like in every life time he had with you. Just when he thought he finally got it right this time, just when he thought he'd get his happy ending...
He couldn't lose you.
Not now. Not again.
He has to do something.
"Xavier..."
His vision suddenly darkened. You vanished completely, and he couldn't feel your body at all. It's like you'd turned into dust.
"No..."
"Xavier..."
"Where are you?" he cried in panic, desperately looking around for you yet not a single light welcomed his eyes. He called out your name repeatedly, but your voice was fading away.
"Where....."
"Xavier!"
And in an instant, a flash of light embraced him. He opened his eyes and the first thing he sees is you, sitting next to him and looking at him with wide, worried eyes.
You were wearing pajamas rather than the fancy dress he last saw you in. There is no fountain, and you were not at a park. You two are in his apartment, in his bedroom.
"You...." His heart was racing as he looked at you for a long time. "You're..... you're...." His throat felt tight and dry.
You took his hands and held them tightly. "I'm right here, Xavier." You pulled him into your arms and rested his face against your chest. "Everything is fine."
He closed his eyes and exhaled as he heard the sound of your stable heartbeat.
You're here and you're okay.
"I thought...." Xavier groans and shakes his head. He'd rather not recall that nightmare. "I'm... I'm glad you're here."
You held him tighter, feeling his body's warmth returning. "I won't go anywhere."
You took the hint that he didn't want to talk about what got him shaking and breathing heavily in his sleep. Sometimes, it's good to talk about nightmares, and sometimes it's better to just let it fade away.
"It's around five in the morning." you told him. "The birds are gonna start chriping soon. Do you wanna step out with me to see them?
"Yeah." he smiled against your chest. "I'd like that."

rafayel
Tumblr media
It was his own fault that you ran away from him. He was feeling sick, particularly due to his Lemurian nature, and he blurted out that he needed some time away from you for a while, right when you were trying to take care of him. He was overwhelmed and frustrated, and he told you something he didn't mean.
And now, you're gone.
The house and the beach have never felt so empty and lonely.
He couldn't recall when was the last time he'd seen you and heard your voice.
Rafayel finds himself sitting in front of an unfinished painting of the one he loves. He'd memorized the expression you wear when you'd admire the sunset with him after collecting sea shells. He painted that precious memory just so he can see your face outside of his head.
He wondered what you would think about your portrait once he shows it to you.
He waited and waited.
But you never came back.
Rafayel couldn't remember. Has it been weeks? Months? Years? Did another lifetime pass? Will he have to search for you again?
Of course, he'd do it. He'll wait for you and search for you for as long as he needs. For as long as he can.
But he really thought this lifetime would be it. He thought, maybe, you won't lose each other this time. He had everything he wanted, and yet...
You left him again. You'd given up on him.
If only he could turn back time, he'll find a way to show his true feelings. He'd find a way to keep you close and never let you go.
If only....
"What a mess you are."
"....huh....?"
That was your voice.
His eyes snapped wide open to see you looking down on him. He was sitting down on a chair and his head was down on a table, on top of the unfinished painting of you.
He had fallen asleep with paint all over his face and clothes, though he didn't care about that.
Was it all just a dream?
Was he given another chance?
"You... Are you really here?"
You tilted your head at the sound of his weak voice. "I am. Mostly, I'm here to check up on you because I thought you wouldn't sleep. I'm glad to learn that I was wrong. You were talking in your sleep."
He was saying some things in Lemurian, so you didn't understand. Though, he clearly looked upset, so you contemplated whether to wake him up or not. Nonetheless, his eyes opened at the sound of your voice, no matter how quiet you tried to be.
"You're here....Even though I...." he looks away, feeling his stomach churning with discomfort. "Even though I pushed you away...." He looked down at the portrait he'd been working on. "In my dream, you left and didn't come back. I was waiting for you, but you weren't coming. I thought I wasn't going to see you again, and I was.... I was scared."
You felt your heart drop as his voice quivered. You stepped towards him and pulled him into a hug, catching him by surprise.
"Rafayel..." He buried his face in your stomach. "I'm not going to leave you. Sure, you can be a little dramatic and moody. Sometimes, you overwhelmed and frustrated. Sometimes, you'd want space, and that's perfectly okay."
He wrapped his arms around you tightly.
"I couldn't resist staying away from you for more than five days." you laughed. "That's why I'm here. To see how you are."
"I..." he looks up at you and flashes you a smile. "I'm feeling better now that you're here."
"Good." You caressed his face and wiped a speck of paint that was on his chin. "Now let's get you cleaned up."
"Okay!"

zayne
Tumblr media
Zayne exited a patient's room just in time to hear the commotion out in the hallway. He could hear Yvonne giving out orders. She's trying to sound calm, but he could tell that she was shaken by something.
He took five steps right before an unconscious body was brought in a stretcher.
His eyes noticed the hunters' uniform first, torn and covered in blood. Then, there was the gaping wound on your stomach. Lastly, your cold, paling face.
Zayne dropped the clipboard that was in his hand. His feet acted on their own and rushed to your side, shakily calling out your name.
His hands shook and his vision blurred.
"Doctor Zayne!" Yvonne came up next to him. "She's - "
"I'm her primary doctor. I'll -"
He was stopped from entering the room that you was taken into.
Instead, Greyson came running in, but not before giving Zayne a look of sympathy. "I'll do all that I can to save her."
"I'm going in too."
Yvonne put a hand on his shoulder.
"Doctor Zayne... She's going to be okay. We can trust Doctor Greyson."
His breath comes out raggedy as he tries to calm his pounding heart in his tightening chest. "But I'm her physician. I'm the one that should be treating her."
"I'm sorry, Doctor Zayne."
He knows the rules, yet he found them hard to follow at the moment.
Doctors are generally not supposed to operate on anyone that's close to them, such as a family member or a partner, due to several complicated ethical matters.
But still, he should be the one to treat you.
What was the point of him becoming a doctor if he couldn't save your life?
"Let me...."
"We're losing her!" someone exclaims from your room.
Zayne felt his vision spinning. He tried to get to you, but his legs stopped working.
Why couldn't he move?
He needed to see you. To save you.
Move.
Save her.
There's no time.
Move.
Move, or else she's going to....
"Zayne!"
His body felt as if it had been pulled out of a frozen lake. He gasped and shot up from his seat, finding his legs working perfectly. He's inside his home office and he had taken a nap right on his desk.
"Zayne! Are you okay? I heard you screaming so I -" you failed to finish your sentence as you were suddenly pulled in his arms.
Your feet lifted from the ground while you wrapped your arms around his back. Zayne rested his face against your neck and took a deep breath and a slow exhale, tickling your skin.
From where your hands are, you could feel him slightly trembling. He must have had a horrible nightmare.
"I never want to feel that again." he whispered, pressing you tighter against him. "Please, don't go."
You ran your hands up and down his back. "I'm not going anywhere."
Zayne didn't leave your side for the rest of the night.

caleb
Tumblr media
After all these years, he couldn't believe he finally got what he wanted. You're by his side, not just as your childhood friend, but as your lover.
Out of all the people, you chose him.
It felt too good to be true.
And maybe that's why you were once again taken from him.
One day, he received a call from your boss. Apparently, you had encountered someone from Ever and got in a dangerous fight. You were taken to a hospital, so Caleb instantly left Skyhaven to see you.
He entered your room with a basket full of apples. "Pip-squeak, you look terrible."
You stared at him with a deadpanned expression.
You had bandages wrapped around the top of your head, since that was where your main injury is. Aside from that, you had minor bruises and scratches on your arms.
"Tough crowd today." He sat on the chair and held your left hand.
You pulled away quickly.
"Huh? What's wrong? Did I hurt you?"
You blinked at him with confusion. "....Who are you?"
"...." Caleb lets out a chuckle, even though his heart had already dropped. "That's not funny."
The look on your face told him that you weren't in the mood for jokes either.
"You.... you don't remember me?"
You shook your head. "I'm sorry, but I can't remember..."
His entire world felt like it came crashing down.
All the memories he'd desperately tried to preserve. All the moments you'd spent together, from when you were kids that were nothing more than lab rats, to when you both started living with your grandma, to when you reunited after the incident, and to when you started to become lovers. All of it is gone.
You're looking at him with nothing but confusion in your eyes.
You didn't even want to hold his hand.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. It's not your fault." Behind his pained smile, he clenched his fists even though he could no longer feel them.
This is all Ever's fault.
He is going to make them pay for hurting you and taking away all of your precious memories, stripping you of your identity.
"While you recover, I'll look after you." he told you while holding an apple towards you. "If you need anything, just let me know."
"Okay."
Despite your reply, you never came to him for help. Even when your injuries got better, you refused his offers to look after you and keep you company.
You never asked about your old memories. You weren't even trying to regain them. It's like you'd turned into a new person, and he had become a stranger to you.
You were his entire world, but he was nothing but a fragment of your past that you no longer know and care for. He was nothing to you.
It should be fine, right?
You're alive. That's the most important part.
You were safe, and he's going to make sure you stay safe, even if he has to stay in the shadows.
So, why does it hurt so much?
Why did getting out of bed feel pointless? Why does he check his phone, knowing he hasn't crossed your mind at all? Why did his shoulders feel heavier and his chest tighter?
He just wanted to see you. He wanted to hear your voice, calling his name to show him something silly so he can laugh with you.
He wouldn't mind if you get angry with him for all the stupid things he'd done. As long as you know he's there, as long as you look at him, that's enough for him.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
Caleb almost fell out of bed at the alarm ringing in full blast.
"What....?"
He wasn't in his dark, lonely room in Skyhaven. He's in your bright and colorful apartment, on your warm bed.
And there was someone humming from outside the room.
Caleb slowly got out of bed and followed the source of the humming that had his heart racing and swelling, warming up his body that had been feeling cold and empty just seconds ago.
He enters the kitchen and finds you cooking breakfast.
Suddenly, breathing became ten times easier.
You yelped as you were hugged from behind. "Caleb! Don't scare me like that!"
He smiled against your shoulders. "It's you that scared me to death, pip-squeak."
"Me? What do you mean?!"
"Nothing." He pressed his lips on your right cheek. "So, what's for breakfast?"
It was just a nightmare. It wasn't real, and it's never going to be real. He'll make sure of it. He will never let anything happen to you for as long as he lives.
All he ask for in return is for you to keep looking at him with the same light of love and happiness in your eyes.

☽。⋆ Learning to fly, starting to crawl
Over one hundred years ago, you lost your wings but the wound still hurts like it was only yesterday. When your brothers mate wants to learn to fly, he doesn’t hesitate in teaching her, right in front of you. And nobody can see the scars except the one you love…
[OMG I'M ALIVE!!!! I've had this sitting in my drafts for months but have only just got around to posting. Basically, I have too many hobbies but i'm in a writing mood again., very fitting to start with my boy AZRIEL, whom i love very much. I hope you enjoy. This is linked to my other Azriel fic but of course can be read alone. Not proof-read and yes, she lost her wings. It's becoming almost a thing but it makes for some good ass angst. ENJOY!!!!]
Tumblr media
☽。⋆
The inner circle all sat around the table, eating and chatting merrily. Rhysand sat at the head of the table, as was tradition, while his mate- Feyre- sat next to him, their hands entwined. They smiled at each other, as so in love they were. Cassian and Mor were joking around along with Amren and Elian listened politely. Every now and then, she glanced the shadow singers way to invite him into the conversation but there was no such luck.
Azriel only stared ahead of him, glaring at the empty space where you usually sat. He wasn’t at all surprised you hadn’t turned up, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t be angry about it.
For a few weeks now he’d noticed the shift in you. You snapped easily and often rolled your eyes at anything your brother- the high lord- had to say. He’d heard you pace your rooms at night and his shadows (that favoured you above all) had reported that many nights you went to Rita’s.
But your empty seat irked him. And it irked him that Rhys seemed to not care in the slightest.
Az was the first to be aware of your presence, the echo of the door opening alerting them all and your scent hit him in the face. He inhaled it- your lavender, your sweetness, tinted by the alcohol lingering.
Rhysand huffed and everyone seemed to notice the shift. ‘I apologize about this, Feyre darling.’
Just then, you and Nesta stumbled into the room, arms linked and laughing your heads off about something or other.
Azriel drank you in. Your cheeks were flushed, your dress creased as you struggled to stay up right. Gods, what had you done?
You pouted dramatically, throwing a hand on your hip. ‘Uh oh, Rhysands got his grumpy face on.’
‘Isn’t that his usual?’ Said Nesta, causing the two of you to laugh again.
Everyone watched the two of you.
‘Where have you been?’ Az asked, wanting to rush to you and support you, but Rhys seemed one breath away from snapping.
‘We’re trying to have a pleasant meal, don’t ruin it,’ he grumbled.
‘Yes sir!’ You saluted.
Rhys growled and Feyre took his hand, squeezing it tightly.
‘Something tells me we’re not wanted, y/n,’ Nesta said to her.
‘Alas, we do not want to be here,’ you said, stumbling your way past the table. Before you went, you gave Feyre a squeeze on the shoulder, leaning down to whisper to her. ‘Feyre darling.’
‘Enough!’ Rhys shot up, hands on the table.
You barley spared him a glance as you and Nesta went about your way. You tripped on a plant pot, stumbling and apologizing to the object.
Azriel got out his seat, ready to follow you to wherever. No matter if you wanted him or not.
‘Sit down, Azriel,’ said Rhysand, taking his seat again. He picked up his fork and smiled at his mate like nothing had happened. All the while, your scent got further away from him.
He looked between where you’d disappeared and his high lord. He settled down and promised he’d find out what had made you act so.
☽。⋆
You woke with unbearable pain in your head the next day. And your back. Your head was granted with the amount you and Nesta had drank, seeking to out-do one another so much so you drank out most of Rita’s.
But your back, the pain was new. Almost as if it knew why you were so angry, so bitter and it sort to make it worse.
Your curtains were drawn but the wind blew them back, letting you glimpse the outside world you dreaded to be a part of.
Shadows curled up your bed, brushing your hair back affectionately. They seemed to always be around you, as if they knew the bond that heaved in your chest even if their master didn’t.
You offered them a poor smile. ‘I’m fine.’ But they caressed you and smelt your lie.
From beyond the curtains, you caught a glimpse of figures in the sky. You’d always loved your room for the view it granted, of the sun, the moon, the stars. But after losing your wings, the view turned cold and the sky never seemed as bright.
It only got worse.
Though you knew the pain it would bring you to see, you wrapped a blanket around you and treaded over to the window.
Feyre was trying out her new wings, the black gifts she’d been given. Once mortal, she now had everything you wanted. The power, the wings. Your freedom was now hers.
And you hated it.
Azriel was looking close to her, encouraging her as she went. Though they were small figures to you, you could see his smile, how he held his hands out to her should she lose confidence.
How many times had you flown side by side, acting like the clouds abided you. The times you’d raced or dropped just to have Azriel catch you.
Never again.
The bitterness invaded your mouth again, blocking out all other logical senses.
Your door burst open- the shadows rushing to your side and curling around your shoulders. You didn’t need to turn to know who it was, the anger radiating from him was enough.
‘How dare you turn up in the state you did last night,’ snapped Rhys. You didn’t turn to face him, shielding yourself from his fury. ‘You had no right to ruin a lovely evening. We are trying to make Feyre and her sisters feel welcomed, its a shame my own sister can’t seem to do that for me.’
The words twisted in your gut. For him… had you not done everything for him? Lost your wings because you wouldn’t give in? Lost fifty years of your life to be with him?
‘Get over whatever it is going on and only return to us when you want to act like a decent human being.’ Rhysand snapped before leaving again, slamming the door- causing her to flinch.
The shadows ran down your hair, your cheeks, your sides. Giving you any ghostly comfort they could. ‘I’m fine,’ you told them again, retreating further into your room.
The shadows followed you, but only half of them. The other half had returned to their master, clouding him and whispering in his ear.
Her wings. She misses her wings.
She hadn’t had to say it out loud, they knew her pain.
Azriel paused in the sky, alerting Feyre. She’d seen the shadows surround him in flourishes. She couldn’t understand they were reporting in on you, that Az needed you to have something there when he could not be.
‘What is it?’ She asked, beating her wings.
He stared at her then at the wings. He was filled with the longing to be with you, in the sky, playing. Your wings were beautiful, just because they were you. A beautiful part of you.
‘I need to speak with the high lord.’
☽。⋆
‘Ask someone else to train Feyre to fly,’ said Azriel.
He’d insisted he needed to see the high lord on urgent matters that could not wait. He’d expected it to be of the war, but Azriel opened with the line.
Rhysand was sat behind his desk, looking up to Azriel with some amusement. ‘I’m sorry?’
‘Ask Cassian,’ he said, he didn’t need to repeat himself.
‘Feyre wanted you.’
‘I can’t do it anymore,’ he said, stating it all simply.
Rhysand waited, wondering if he’d be graced with an explanation, but it never came. ‘Might I ask why.’
‘Your sister.’
Rhys’s amusement turned to a deep scowl. ‘My sister has asked you to stop flying with Feyre?’
‘No. She hasn’t asked, she never would. But I can’t teach Feyre to fly anymore.’
‘I’m sorry, I’m confused- what does any of this have to do with y/n?’ He asked.
Azriels shadows wound tight around him, coating him like a second skin. He wanted to yell, and he never let his emotions get the better of him. Instead, he curled his hand into a fist and clenched his jaw. ‘Do you really not think that this is hurting her?’
‘After her behaviour the past couple days I think it’s her who’s doing the hurting,’ he said, picking a bit of invisible lint from his shoulder.
‘She lost her wings,’ said Azriel with barely contained annoyance. ‘She lost them. They were cut from her back and she was left to bleed out.’
‘I do remember that Azriel,’ said Rhys, closing his eyes at the words. ‘I was there when we found her.’
‘So do you not think that teaching your mate to fly doesn’t effect her?’
Rhysand looked at him. His eyes changed, the hue turning darker. No, he hadn’t thought that. You’d never let on to feeling anything for your wings or lack of them. But then again, even if you had, would you ever have gone to your brother.
Azriel took a measured step forward. ‘Do you not think it hurts her that you teach your mate to fly, the same mate that gasped in horror when she saw the scars on your sisters back? That you have us fly in front of the house where she can see? Did you even know that when she bathes y/n covers all the mirrors so she doesn’t have to get a glance at the scars.’
The high lord held up a hand. ‘I understand.’
‘No, you don’t. You could never know what it’s like, neither could I, or Cassian. She had a part of her ripped off and she has to live without it every day. But you’ve gifted Feyre them as if it’s nothing.’
‘Because my mate has the powers,’ argued Rhys. ‘If I could give y/n wings I would- in a heartbeat, I would.’
Azriel nodded. He knew that, he knew the relationship between you and Rhys was fractured at best, but he also knew that if anything or anyone hurt you, Az would kill them. ‘I don’t want to reach Feyre to fly because it hurts y/n.’
Rhys leaned back in his chair, studying him. ‘And you care about her?’
‘More than I can express.’ He would give her the wings from his back if he could. ‘And if something hurts her… it hurts me.’
Rhysand nodded. ‘I’ll take her flying from now on. We’ll do it in the mountains, to spare y/n from seeing it.’
Azriel bowed his head. ‘Thank you.’
Rhys nodded but averted his gaze. ‘Look after her, Azriel.’
‘I always have.’
☽。⋆
Nesta had gone to Rita's, expecting you later but you'd already snuck down to the Wine cellar and picked out the finest to drown your sorrows alone in. You'd past Cassian on the way, the male worried about your shifting gaze and the way you held yourself but you brushed him off and carried on your way.
You hesitated outside your door, where shadows lurked. Yes, they liked you and yes they were often with you, but never guarding your door.
Then, you smelt it. Not wine but sweet cedar and moss. Az.
You didn't want this. Didn't want him to see you like this, in pain in your mind and back, in longing for the wind through your hair. You knew he'd noticed your behaviour, he was the spy master, you'd only hoped... only hoped he didn't care as much as he did.
Taking a deep breath, you pushed open the door and braced yourself for shouting.
Azriel stood there, looking regal and beautiful. His back was too the balcony, the door open and wind rusting his wings and sheets. His hands were behind his back and his gaze was... soft? It wasn't dark with anger or clouded in annoyance.
It was just Az.
'Azriel,' you do your best to smile, clearing your throat. 'What are you doing? I thought you had flying with Feyre?' you were trying but you were also just you and you missed your wings.
'I'm teaching her anymore,' he said.
You chuckle. 'Is she that bad a student?'
'I'm sorry.'
You look up to him, taking out the cork of the wine. Rose filled your senses. 'For what?'
'That she flys when you don't,' he mentioned it simply, as if you'd already told him what was hurting you and he'd accepted it.
You hadn't said it. You wouldn't. You hated yourself enough for being weak, you didn't need him, perfect Azriel, caring Azriel, to see how horrid your jealousy had made you. 'I don't know what you mean.'
'y/n,' he steps close to you, taking the bottle from you. He drops it at his side but no smash is delivered. The shadows swallow it up. 'Why won't you talk, instead of drowning yourself in pain?'
'I'm not drowning myself in anything,' you deny, moving away from him to close the balcony door. The air drifting in and moving everything but you only mocked.
'You can't fly,' he said.
Your eyes squeezed shut in pain. 'Yes, I know, you don't have to remind me.'
His boots sounded close behind her and he took her shoulders. He didn't force her to turn around, he only held her gently and soothed his thumbs over the knots in her back. 'You can't fly and words don't exist to tell you how sorry I am. If I could i'd give you the own wings off me back-'
'Don't say that.' The only thing worse than your pain, was Azriel going through it all.
'I would and I mean it just to see you smile again, if only for a second. I'd be glad to give them up,' he whispered. Your shoulders slumped under his grasp and he sighed in relief, it was better than tensing up again. 'I miss you smiling. I miss you laughing. I miss you smiling at me. I'm sorry if teaching Feyre to fly has hurt you.'
'It wasn't you, Az,' you turn in his hold, never letting him feel like it was his fault. In doing that, you admitted to being bothered. 'I can't be who I was, because I don't know how. And I don't want to try to only fail.'
He listened, hands trailing down your arms to rub.
You gulp. 'And it's not just losing the wings, it's everything I lost with it. Freedom. I can't join you or Cas, or anyone when you take to the skies. How am I going to cope in battle? I can't run as fast as I can fly, I can't fight as well. I can't hit Cassian over the head when he's being an idiot, I can't-I can't wrap them around you when we hold each other, and it's painful to think of everything I've lost when I've gained nothing.'
He listened, tears watering his gaze. You had not lost any of that, not to him.
'And Feyre,' you pulled away, crossing your arms around each other and looking out the window. 'I don't hate her, I wish I could but I can't. But she's been Fae for five seconds and she has everything I've ever wanted. Wings. My brother loves her. She's happy. I hate it and I hate myself.'
Your confession weighed your gut but your chest rose in a deep breath. You couldn't see Azriel behind you in the reflection of the windows and you couldn't hear him.
He'd gone. Of course he'd left, you'd whined about what you'd lost when you were at least alive. You'd complained about the High Lady- treason in Rhysand's book.
No, you were all alone.
But you weren't.
Az crept behind you and slowly- so you could pull away- wrapped his arms around your shoulders. He pulled you into his chest and matched his breaths with yours. 'I won't insult you by saying I get it, because I could never. But that time, when I found you after you'd lost your wings, I thought i'd lost you and that-that is how I imagine your feelings. Because I stopped breathing and I didn't think happiness would ever be in the world again. And your blood, you bleeding out has been in my nightmares since. If my hands were to be stained with it, let them, because it was the last thing i'd ever have of you.'
You had no idea. He'd felt terrible yes and been there the weeks and months it took to heal but you'd been so full of pain and guilt you hadn't thought of how he fared. Your greatest friend... your lustful secret.
Your hands came up to hold his arms.
'You do not have to be who you were before,' he whispered, head resting on your shoulder. 'Become better. Become something more. As for training, you're the strongest woman I know and still the only person I'd trust with my life.'
A tear escaped you.
He nudged your chin with his nose. 'And you can still hit Cass as much as you like.'
You laugh through tears, holding onto Az like he was the last thing anchoring you to yourself.
His wings slowly inched over you. 'And I will hold you all day, every day till I die, and i'll keep you safe.' His wings closed around the two of you as yours used to do.
Neither of you realised how much you'd missed it, needed it, craved it until it happened.
You'd lost your wings, but you had never and would never lose him.

josh always had to be touching you. it was something you noticed early on in your friendship, but it had grown more noticeable over time. a casual brush of his fingers across your waist when he walked by, how his hand would find yours when no one was looking.
at first, you didn’t think much of it, it was just josh, always needing someone close.
but now? now it felt like more.
tonight, the group had gathered in the theater room of the washington lodge for what was supposed to be a relaxing evening after a long day of hiking.
the lights were dim and you were sprawled out on the large sectional with everyone, blankets thrown over legs, as a movie played on the tv. josh, predictably, had taken his usual place next to you, his thigh pressed against yours under the blanket, his hand resting on your knee like always.
it wasn’t like he was doing anything that anyone else would notice, it was subtle, almost innocent. but you felt it. the warmth of his hand on your leg sent tingles up your spine and it was almost impossible to ignore the way your heart beat just a little faster when he touched you.
"you two are practically glued together," emily teased from across the couch, smirking as she sipped her drink. "it’s cute. you can’t stand to be apart for five seconds?"
josh, unfazed as ever, grinned. “what can i say? i’m a hands-on kind of guy.”
you rolled your eyes, chuckling softly, but the way his fingers squeezed your knee for just a second sent a jolt through you. he wasn’t letting go, not even when everyone else joined in on the teasing.
ashley leaned over the back of the couch, an exaggerated look of pity on her face. "i mean, it’s cute and all, but how do you breathe? he’s always touching you.”
josh shrugged, still looking completely comfortable. “she doesn’t seem to mind.” his voice was playful, but there was an edge of seriousness beneath it.
you glanced over at him, your pulse quickening. no, you didn’t mind. in fact, you had grown to expect it, maybe even craved it. his presence, his touch. it had a calming effect on you, even if it was doing the opposite to your emotions now.
your friends had been teasing about this for weeks and you weren’t sure how to explain the connection without sounding ridiculous.
"she knows that i'm just that good at making sure she’s comfortable," josh said with a quick grin. "it’s kinda my thing."
emily laughed. “at this point, i wouldn’t be surprised if you two woke up spooning!”
you felt the blush rising to your cheeks as you shoved josh lightly, but his hand slid down your leg, brushing the inside of your thigh, lingering just a second too long before pulling away. you froze, the sensation sending a wave of warmth through you.
he shot you a quick look, eyes twinkling with amusement, but there was something else behind them.
before you could respond, chris called out from the other side of the couch. “what? it’s just a little friendly affection, right?” he winked, clearly teasing.
“yep,” you agreed quickly, your voice coming out more breathless than intended. “totally. just friends.”
josh gave a low hum, leaning back and stretching his arm out along the back of the couch, his fingertips brushing against your shoulder. “if you say so,” he murmured softly, only for you to hear. the weight of his touch felt heavier now, his fingers grazing your skin.
as the movie droned on, your focus drifted away from the screen. your mind was entirely on josh, the way his body was so close to yours, the way his touch lingered. you found yourself leaning into him more without realising it, like you were drawn to him just as much as he was to you.
the others had mostly gone back to watching the movie, though there were still occasional glances your way, always with that teasing edge but josh didn’t seem to care. his thumb traced slow circles on your shoulder now, his hand occasionally slipping down to brush your arm.
you turned your head slightly, looking up at him. he wasn’t even looking at the movie anymore. his focus was entirely on you.
“josh?” you whispered, keeping your voice low enough that the others wouldn’t hear.
“hmm?” his eyes flicked down to meet yours, his expression soft but with that familiar mischievous glint.
you hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to say what was on your mind. “why do you always…?” you trailed off, not sure how to phrase it without sounding too obvious.
he smiled, a knowing look crossing his face. “always what?”
“always… touch me,” you finished quietly, your pulse quickening at the vulnerability in your own words.
josh’s smile didn’t fade, but his gaze grew a little more serious. he leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper as his hand moved from your shoulder to your cheek, cupping it gently. “it’s… comforting. you’re comforting.”
you stared at him, heart racing as the weight of his words sank in. there was more to it, you could feel it, more than just the comfort of touch. there was something between you that had always been there, quietly lingering beneath the surface.
“you don’t mind, do you?” his thumb brushed against your cheek now, the gentle motion sending a warmth through you that had nothing to do with the blankets.
you swallowed hard, your breath catching in your throat. “no,” you whispered. “i don’t mind.”
josh’s gaze flickered down to your lips for a second before returning to your eyes. there was a moment of hesitation, but then he leaned in just a little closer. “good,” he murmured, his voice barely audible.
“because i don’t think i could stop even if i tried.”

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Insiders, please gather in the living room.”
The blaring voice of Tobi rang out in the bedroom, startling you as you woke up from your slumber. You found yourself curled up into a bed you weren’t familiar with, it didn’t smell like you so you could definitely determine that it wasn’t yours; also the strong arms wrapped around you were definitely not your own.
Your back was pressed against someone’s hard chest, your figure hugged into them tightly. Their head was tucked into the space between your shoulder and your neck, their soft and slow snores tingling your skin. Your hair tickled their face, but they didn’t move as their hands were snuck underneath your bedtime shirt, fingers brushing the waistband of your shorts.
You groaned and rubbed the sleep out of your eyes, shifting just enough for the person behind you to slip their hands to both sides of your waist, feeling their presence sit up behind you.
Turning around, you saw a shirtless George sitting upright and ruffling his bed hair. You couldn’t help but notice the lack of space between you two due to being squished into the twin bed, one of his arms was wrapped around you in case you fell off the bed.
You stared at him for a moment. Confused, you asked, “Why am I in your bed?” His tired gaze settled on you for a second before his eyes widened and memories from the night before came flooding back. “Oh! You fell asleep on my bed and I didn’t want to wake you and move you,” You nodded along. “So, I just let you stay in mine.”
His cheeks grew a pink colour as he continued and gestured with his hands, “We fell asleep back to back so I also have no idea why we ended up… like this.” He laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
“Morning, love birds!” PK shouted from across the room, an exaggerated wave being sent your way. You turned around and flipped PK off with a joking smile, hearing his cackle before looking back at George who was leaning over the bed to reach for his clothes. He maneuvered around you, resting a hand on your thigh for support as you sat cross legged on his bed.
Holding his shirt, he stood up and continued the routine of holding a hand out for you to take, helping you stand up and out of the bed.
Walking over to your bed, you couldn’t find your hoodie to put over your shirt and the room wasn’t getting any warmer at this time in the morning. Seeing your struggle, George walked your way and tapped you on the shoulder.
His black top was halfway on his body, his right hand offering you his navy hoodie. You went to shake your head and refuse but he took your hand and placed the hoodie in your arms, “Please, just take it.” He winked and passed you to go into the living room.
Leaving you behind clinging onto his hoodie, you tried to suppress a wide smile and rosy cheeks. Milli watched from across the room with a cheeky smile and stuck her tongue out at you, “Oh, George is so dreamy! I wish I could sleep in his bed every night!” She mocked your thoughts in a high pitched tone of voice.
Your mouth dropped open at her, leaning down to reach for the ‘horny beast’ that had fallen from the bed during the night and lobbed it at her. She laughed as it hit her face before flicking it away in disgust, “Ew! I don’t wanna know what that teddy saw last night in bed with you and George!”
“Milli!” You groaned as she skipped up to you and linked your arms, leading the pair of you out the room and whispering dirty jokes in your ear about how the name of the teddy lived up to its name.
The pair of you walked into the living room, greeted with the sight of Tobi standing behind a plinth with cards stacked on top of it.
“Oh, fuck.” You mumbled making Tobi laugh. You cursed the game out as you settled yourself down on the sofa, shoulder to shoulder with Milli and sitting across from George, his leg brushing yours as he outstretched his own.
George smiled at you and you reciprocated the action. Farah next to you grumbled, “Jesus. Was cuddling all night not enough for you? Do you really need to eye-fuck each other from across the room?”
You covered your face with your hands as the group bellowed in laughter, Jason slapping George on the back in congratulations (although nothing has happened between you two yet). Tobi’s eyebrows raised and pointed to the cameras in the room, “George and Y/N, there are cameras everywhere and I don’t wanna see any funny business that needs to be cut!” He flickered between the two of you.
You sunk into the couch more, “Tobi! Just ruin our morning and tell us what’s happening.” You laughed, Milli beside you wished she could take a picture of your embarrassed face right now.
Tobi chuckled and complied, “Good morning, Insiders.” Everyone responded with half-hearted replies. “Can I please ask you to clear the front of the sofa and line up in front of it, please?”
You grumbled, sleep still overtaking your body as you reluctantly peeled yourself off of your comfy position on the sofa. You naturally found yourself gravitating towards George and slipped out of Milli’s radar, her smirking at you as you unknowingly got closer to the boy.
George peered down at you as you stood next to him, he ruffled your bed hair with his hand before it slid down your body to settle on your lower back.
“One by one, you’re going to come and collect an envelope from this plinth here.” Tobi explained. However, you were too distracted by George’s completely tired look on his face, smiling to yourself as he stared absentmindedly into the distance. Of course, you wouldn’t admit to yourself that he looked insanely good and adorable here; because he was your best friend! Best friends don’t think about each other like that, although you feared all morals were out the window after you spooned each other in bed last night.
“Do not open it until I say so.” Tobi demanded, all of you still confused about the concept of this challenge, or if it was a challenge.
“George.” Tobi called him up, his hand drifting from its position on your back but still hovering over your figure. PK snorted a laugh and whispered to Whitney next to him, “Can’t let go of his girl for one second.” She laughed and slapped his chest, intensely watching the two of you.
After George picked up his envelope, your name was called. “Y/N.” You stepped forward and took the envelope with dread, a nervous feeling sitting in your stomach at what lies underneath the paper.
While everyone else collected their envelopes, you felt the lack of sleep catching up with you and swayed on the spot slightly, eyes staring ahead. On instinct, you leaned into George’s side and rested your head on his arm; sensing this, George crouched down slightly so you could rest your head comfortably on his shoulder, despite the awkward squatting position he was in, he valued your comfort more than his.
You weren’t aware of this gesture, but still appreciated his response to your touch as his fingers started tracing patterns on your back that was clad in his hoodie.
“I’m now going to ask you to open and reveal the content of your envelope.” Tobi looked at the cuddling pair, “George, please open your envelope.”
George slowly ripped open the envelope and turned the sheet around to reveal a blank canvas with a circle on it. Furrowing your brows, you did the same after to see you had the exact same result.
This continued down the line until it reached DDG, everyone looking around at each other to silently question if they had any idea what this meant. “As you can see, DDG is the only one to have an X.”
“Which means that you will have to pick someone to go home right now.” Your mouth dropped open and your heart fell into your stomach, you had just woken up and someone was immediately going home.
Slipping your hand into George’s, his grip tightened on you and pressed a kiss on top of your head due to the height difference. With your head resting on him, you could hear his heart pounding against his chest and toyed with his fingers to try and relieve his nerves.
DDG stood up and faced the group as Tobi said, “You must now choose someone to leave the Inside house.” Sighing, he looked at you and George.
“Last night we were all hanging out, having a good time and creating a nice bond together.” Your nerves faltered slightly, remembering (before you fell asleep) that DDG was conversing with you and George about how you should ‘cut the shit and just kiss already’.
“And one person just wasn’t vibing at all. I’m sorry, Dylan.” You cringed as Dylan nodded in acceptance and Tobi ordered him to say his goodbyes.
DDG interview!
“I knew if I wanted to get George out, I needed to get Y/N out first. But it’s too soon to vote one of them out now because everyone could see what game I’m trying to play. So I went off initial vibes, and that’s why I voted out Dylan.”
You, George, Milli and Farah all walked Dylan out of the house, bidding your goodbyes and hugging him before he walked out the house. You knew it would feel different without a figure in the house; but it was all part of the game and you understood it.
As everyone gathered in the bedroom, you sat crossed legged on George’s bed whilst he stood behind you, his arms wrapped around your shoulders from behind and hugging you close. You looked up at George, “The elimination still hasn’t properly hit me,” He nodded along, “I’m still half asleep.” You grumbled and leaned into George’s touch.
You could hear him laugh from behind you, “Give her an hour and she’ll cry when she realises he’s actually gone.” The others laughed at him as you shook your head and rested your hands on his arms where they were situated around your shoulders.
PK spoke up, “Today is your birthday.” He pointed at Whitney. You all turned to look at her in surprise and all cheered, “Happy Birthday!” As the group sang to her, George swayed you two back and forth.
The sound of a bell chiming broke everyone out of their daze as a couple of people peered their heads around the door to read the screen, “Breakfast is ready!” They shouted. George slipped his arms off of your shoulders, switching his hold on you to lug you up in bridal style off of the bed, one arm underneath your legs. You yelped in surprise and he smiled at your reaction, “Let’s go get breakfast, beautiful.” He whispered to you as he strode down to the shop with you in his arms.
As you reached the shop, he settled you back into the floor but let his hands rest on your hips. “George can’t keep his hands off her for one minute!” Patrice laughed and looked towards DDG and Jason, then laughing and pointing at the pair of you and you stood oblivious to their nattering near you.
Looking at the items listed, George pointed one out. “Custom coffee’s two and a half grand today.” You shook your head, “Yeah, please no one buy that today.” You wanted to try and attempt to save money, the budget was dropping already less than two days in and if you were to win, you’d like some money to take home with you.
Whitney took a step towards you and her eyes flickered to the position you and George were in, “It’s my birthday and Y/N, stop defending your boyfriend. Have your own opinion!”
Your eyes widened and you turned to face George, stepping out of his hold in embarrassment. George felt his heart falter a little bit as you retracted from his touch, missing the feeling of you in his hold.
You saw George open his mouth to protest and snap back at Whitney for her uncalled for comment, but you quickly shook your head and whispered, “Leave it.” You wanted to avoid conflict on the third day, you couldn’t handle arguing with people you barely knew.
time skip!
“Why, hello there!” You jumped from your spot sat next to Milli in the living room, the discussion about the charity match halting as JJ’s voice rang out.
“Are you all good?” You opened your mouth to respond as well as the others, “Shut up! I don’t care.” JJ shouted back, causing you to suppress a laugh.
Everyone walked into the living room as JJ continued through the loud speaker, “It’s time to go to the challenge arena. Get your asses changed and let’s go.”
You groaned and rolled your head back as you mentally prepared yourself for this challenge. As you walked towards the challenge arena, you spotted George a few steps ahead and in a slow walk. You picked up your step to stand behind him and wrapped your arms around his waist to rest your forehead on his back due to his height advantage against you.
You could practically see George’s eyebrows raise, “Well, hello there.” He lifted one arm around his back to stroke the back of your head and chuckled at your dread as you mumbled curses about the Sidemen; something along the lines of ‘God, why did I agree to this?’
The purple colour lights blinded your vision as you rounded the corner into the arena, “Here we are once more.” You heard George grumble, trying to sound somewhat enthusiastic but failing in doing so. “Ye old challenge arena.”
You retracted yourself from clinging onto George and stood on your tiptoes to see the room. Simon and JJ stood behind a circle table with trays scattered around it, and seats accompanying each side for spectators.
Simon and JJ urged you into the room, mocking greetings and laughing at your horror stricken face. You took a seat next to Milli, directly opposite George who winked at you in good luck.
Simon and JJ listed off the rules of ‘The Wheel of Mystery’, the name not exactly helping soothe your nerves but you persisted otherwise. Milli looked over at you and laughed at your face, a sour look etched into your features as you watched Simon shuffle through his cue cards before landing on one and showing it to JJ, then proceeding to laugh with each other and glance in your direction; you just knew they had something up their sleeve for you.
Unfortunately, due to your positioning behind Patrice in the game and his determination to go first, you had to endure an entire game of him occasionally letting one rip. Each time he backed his own ass control, you put your head in your hands to cover your laugh as Milli groaned and rested her forehead on your shoulder with closed eyes.
Once it was PK’s turn, JJ smirked at the question he was given, “This is a juicy one.” He raised his brows, “Rank the girls inside from most to least attractive.”
PK immediately turned round to face Milli and pointed at her, “Least attractive!” You gasped in shock and looked at PK with a confused expression. Milli responded with just as much energy, “He’s just salty I didn’t say he was the fittest!” She laughed with you as PK started spewing facts that she was the most attractive yesterday, but according to his logic, it’s a new day.
He ranked Farah sixth, Mandi fifth, Whitney fourth and Cinna third. PK glanced back and forth between you and Mya, taking a good look at the pair of you and considering his options.
George on the side had his lip tucked in between his teeth and his head tilted to the side, he stared at PK and silently willed him to stop as he watched his eyes trail over your sitting figure. George would never admit that he was jealous, because there was nothing to be jealous over. All friends feel a sick feeling in their stomach when another man practically hits on them when they’re right there, it’s normal! It’s a valid reaction because he is definitely not in love with you! He’d just curse PK out if he even tried to make a move on you; but the mischievous look in PK’s eyes told George that he wasn’t making it out of the challenge with any sense of dignity.
PK stood up and walked over to George, lifting a hand up to dap him up. “George, you’re my man. I’d never take your girl from you, brother.” You widen your eyes and look anywhere but George and PK, catching a glance of George’s mouth open and heat spreading through his cheeks.
George let out a nervous laugh and couldn’t form a witty response to that. Mya beside him could only laugh at his red face and the image of JJ laughing and pointing at him.
PK walked back to his seat, “So, Y/N second and my wife, Mya as first.” Everyone nodded along, still smiling from the previous interaction.
After a couple rounds and wishing you had your phone on you to take a picture of Milli’s unamused face in the banana costume, JJ called Mandi up into the hot seat and asked her, “Which Inside do you think will be the most boring to watch?”
You winced at the harsh question and watched her look between the group before her eyes landed on you, “Y/N.” You raised your brows in shock and swallowed a dry throat; were you really that boring? JJ and Simon exchanged confused glances and cleared their throat, “Why’s that, Mandi?”
She smiled a bit, “You know I love you, Y/N,” She started. You closed your eyes and whispered to Milli, “Fucking hell, here we go.” Milli grabbed your hand for comfort.
“I just think you’re a bit of a cling on to George,” Your face paled slightly, “Like, he has a career on YouTube, so do you but… it’s like you’re just there while he’s doing his own thing.” You stared at her in shock and tried to comprehend her words for a moment, catching eye contact with George as he held a pissed off facial expression.
Jason spoke up, “Wait, doesn’t she literally have more subs than George?” George nodded and pointed at Jason, “Y/N was doing her own thing before I even joined YouTube so I don’t know what the fuck that answer means.” He defended you from across the room.
You shook your head and tightened your grip on Mandi’s hand, “That was kind of uncalled for, Mandi.” You mumbled, looking directly at her. She laughed and turned back to JJ and Simon, “I was just answering the question!”
Whitney pointed at Mandi with a smile, “I’ve got you girl!” The pair laughed and the Sidemen behind them shut them down immediately, “Mandi, open your tray.” They demanded, no longer wanting to hear them slander you, being one of their closest friends and hearing them diminish you to nothing and acting as if they were more successful than you.
Next it was your turn, “Y/N, please join us at the front.” Simon called out.
You ran your hands through your hair as you stood up, “Come on, Y/N!” You heard Milli shout from behind you, turning around and sticking your tongue out at her. You looked over at George to see him staring at you with a smile, nodding at you with encouragement.
You sat down and leaned back into the chair, crossing your arms over your chest as JJ read out his cue card. “Y/N, if you had to share a bed with any male Insider, who would it be?”
You sighed and looked down at the table, knowing exactly who they wanted you to say. You shrugged your shoulders, “Why are all my questions like this in challenges?” You laughed.
JJ behind you cackled and leaned over you, “Maybe take the hint, Y/N.” You faced him with furrowed brows and mouth ajar, Simon laughed at you and nudged JJ in a signal to not give away too much of what they had planned for you.
You scanned the room, “Only male Insiders?” Simon nodded, “Only male.”
You sucked your teeth and sighed, “I mean I’ve already done it by accident, so I would go for George.” You tilted your head to see him trying to suppress a proud smile with his arms slung behind his head, showing off his biceps (ones that you definitely didn’t catch yourself staring at).
The group all awed at your answer, even hearing PK let out a wolf-whistle your way. You showed him the bird and heard his boisterous laugh in the background.
Simon approved of your answer, “Thank you for your answer. You will see the consequences of your decision later.”
You whipped your head around to him, similar to George. “What the fuck does that mean?” You gasped, your heart dropped into your stomach as a cold flush fell over you. Simon only shrugged with a smirk, and ordered you to open your tray. You rubbed your face with your hands and groaned loudly into them, causing the others to laugh at you.
You lifted the lid off of your tray, revealing dead cockroaches laid out on the plate, the label reading ‘Crunchy Delight!” You looked away immediately and screamed, “Fuck off!”
Everyone around you gasped as they looked down at your plate, “That’s fucking rancid, mate!” You supressed a gag, leaning down to rest your forehead on the edge of the table, mumbling curses about how you weren’t getting paid enough to do this.
As the group cheered you on, you quickly lifted your head and grabbed one before stuffing it in your mouth. You wanted to throw up as soon as it entered your mouth and you quickly snatched your water bottle, only to realise you had left it in the bedroom.
Your eyes widened and you screamed with your mouth shut as your hands swiped for something that wasn’t there. No one could understand your body language as you panicked slightly. However, George noticed you fear stricken face and suddenly reached down for his bottle and hopped from his seat, quickly appearing at your side.
He unscrewed the lid off for you and shoved it into your hands as you swallowed the ‘meal’, tilting the bottle back and drinking the cold water that was situated in it. You sighed in relief as the water drowned out any taste of the cockroach.
George was still squated next to you and gently brushed his fingers against your bare shoulder in the tank top you wore, whispering encouraging words and mumbling how he was proud of you. You turned to look at him and whispered back, “Thank you.” And patted his head with a chuckle.
Realising that everyone was watching you two, George stepped back from the interaction and coughed awkwardly, walking back to his seat as everyone congratulated you for not losing any money. Cinna spoke up, “That was cute, Y/N and George!” You swatted the back of her head as you passed her.
During George’s turn he was asked, “Which Insider would you most like to be eliminated and why?”
To avoid conflict and general awkwardness within the house, George reasoned. “I don’t wanna risk my opinion being an actual vote and they go.” You all awed at him and smiled at his response, causing JJ behind him to mock us. “Shut the fuck up.” George groaned, but ultimately lost everyone £5,000.
time skip!
“Y/N, can I talk to you for a second?” You hear George ask you as he enters the living room. You were sitting around the table with your lunch situated infront of you, surrounded by multiple members of the house who were now also looking at George who stood awkwardly with his hands stuffed into his pockets.
Confused, you nodded. “Sure, what’s wrong?” George shook his head and looked at everyone around you, “Maybe… just us? Alone?” He asked with a wavering voice.
Your eyebrows shot up and stumbled over your words slightly, not expecting him to have a private conversation with you in such urgency. “Uh, yeah! I’ll come now.” You shuffled out of your stool and walked towards his as he held his arm out for you to link it with yours, knowing that was your usual instinct when it came to him.
The other insiders sitting at the table jeered at you and George, “Come on, Georgie!” You distinctly heard Jason’s voice; and Patrice shouted out, “Use protection!”
As you left the room, you stood in the main area. You looked up at George, “What did you want to tell me?”
He looked around and politely smiled at people walking past, his nerves growing even more which caused concern to grow in you. He sighed and took both of your hands into his, “Not here.”
He walked backwards towards the gym and started speaking to you, never breaking eye contact with you. “I need to tell you something, Y/N. In private.” You nodded and your breathing sped up as he edged closer to the door.
“I’ve been wanting to tell you this for ages and I figured since we’re living together for the next few days, this could be a good chance to tell you that--”
The door of the gym swung open and Mya and Whitney tumbled out laughing, messing with the pockets of their tracksuit. You yelped as they collided with George’s back before they burst into laughter and ran away, not missing the sound of a rustling packet tucked into their clothing.
You watched the run away with furrowed brows, feeling George slip from your hands and him striding over to a camera tucked into the corner of the room; “There’s no way they think I can’t hear a rusting packet of choccy, right?”
The girls passed you again, this time with composure. “Hello.” They sweetly said as you reciprocated the gesture, glancing at George with a knowing look. George scoffed and walked towards the living room, you hot on his trail. “They think they’re slick.”
You jogged up next to him and tapped his shoulder, “Wait, what were you saying back then before?”
George’s eyes widened and he swallowed, all the courage he worked up to before dispersed now. “Uh, that was-- that was nothing.” You bit your lip, “You sure?” He nodded quickly, walking past you before you could read the expression on his face, knowing him too well. “It’s fine.”
time skip!
You were all sitting in the bedroom awaiting Whitney’s fate as she entered the temptation room, but you couldn’t help but notice something was different about the room.
Sitting cross legged on the floor as you and George passed the jiggly ball between the pair of you, your eyes scanned the room. Nothing was out of place, everyone’s clothes stayed where they were in the morning, nothing had been added to the room and nothing had been altered in the room. Atleast you thought that until you noticed--
“Oh, my fucking God!” You jumped up off the floor, startling everyone in the room.
“What?” George called out from his position on the floor, chucking the ball between his hands.
“My fucking bed is gone!” You pointed at the vacant space that used to be occupied by your bed. All your items were tucked underneath someone else’s bed and your set of drawers had been moved. “Huh?” George hopped up and stood next to you.
“Holy shit!” He pointed out. You followed his finger to see where his bed was, it had been upgraded to a double bed with a note tucked into the pillows at the top of the bed. The pair of you sprinted over to retrieve the note.
Picking it up, you read its contents. “Your wish is our command, Y/N. Enjoy sharing a bed with George for the rest of the week.”
You covered your mouth in shock and dropped the note on the bed, George picking it up to read it himself to see if you were lying. In the meantime, you saw your drawers were settled on the right side of the bed, jumping towards it, you scanned the insides to see if they had messed with anything else of yours.
Seeing one new item, you slammed the draw shut and walked away from it, leaving the room and shouting, “I hate the Sidemen!”
George looked up from the note and furrowed his brows, lunging over to open the drawer you had reacted to. His mouth dropped open and he fell back onto the bed, looking directly at a camera in the room and pointing at it. “You lot are bastards, you know that?”
And as the camera zoomed into the room, more specifically the drawers. You could just make out a packet of condoms situated in the drawer with a sticky note on top of it saying, ‘No baby Clarkey’s on set please!’
time skip!
“Guys, they’ve got a harmonica on the list. Can I get it?”
You turned around mid-drawing Milli a body on her banana outfit. George skipped into the room with a wide smile on his face. You nodded eagerly, “Yes! Get it!” You needed him to confirm his first purchase.
“There’s a harmonica on the list.” He repeated. You dropped the pen you were using to draw on Milli and apologised to her, “Sorry, I have to be there to witness George lose his purchase virginity!” You skipped over to him as he awaited with open arms.
Milli scoffed jokingly, “Won’t be the first time.” You ignored her comment in ignorant bliss as George skipped in utter glee over to the shop.
“I’m gonna get myself a bloody harmonica!” George jumped into the room, his hand linked with yours as he swung your arms back and forth.
He hopped in front of the camera with a little noise, “Hello. Could I please confirm an harmonica? Please? And thank you.” He smirked into the camera.
You jumped onto his back and he tucked his hands under your thighs, hoisting you further up and you felt his back move with the way he laughed. “I’m gonna serenade you every night now, especially with those condoms in our--” “For fucks sake, George!” You pushed yourself off his back laughing, a smile spread across your face as you heard his giggles and him clapping his hands as the trap doors opened. “Open up, give me my--”
He cut himself off with a giggle, “Thank you!” He stared at you and started playing the harmonica, causing you to laugh and bury your head into your hands. He nudged you, “What? You don’t like it?” You opened your mouth to answer, “You don’t think it’s sexy? A guy playing an instrument?” He finished.
You laughed and pointed at the harmonica, “You think that’s an instrument?” George mocked the offense and snatched the item away from your reach, leaning down dangerously close to your face. “No serenading for you tonight!”
time skip!
“I feel like a side piece to George now.” You thought out loud.
Cinna, beside you, barked out in laughter as you stared at George from across the room. “What?”
You shook your head and gestured towards him, “Look how he’s always attached to that harmonica now. That used to be me a couple hours ago!”
Cinna put her head in her hands and continued laughing, “Y/N, you’re so funny.” She nudged you, seeing your mock hurt face as George repeatedly blew on the harmonica, sounding the same two notes over and over as you all patiently waited for Whitney to return with her present.
Cinna looked at you, “He’s literally sat there with party hats as breasts and you’re jealous of a fucking harmonica?” You looked at your lap in shame and tried to cover up a laugh, but Cinna leaned into you which broke you from your attempts to suppress any chuckles.
Whitney appeared back in the room holding a massive box and a card, she opened the card and started reading it out. “Okay, it says, ‘Happy birthday from the Sidemen.’” You nodded along, feeling George settle himself next to you on the sofa and his arms rest on the cushions behind you; his finger gently brushing your shoulder.
“The highest spender is PK Humble. And the lowest spender is Uncle P.” You all turned to glance at the respective people, nerves brewing at what the Sidemen had cooked up with this information
“The highest and lowest spender must make their way to room 19 and agree on someone to eliminate. They have 20 minutes.”
Your jaw dropped to the floor and your hand slipped into George’s, his fingers intertwining with your own as you looked at each other. You willed the other one to stay, neither of you could go home this early and there was a large risk that you could. Your lips trembled slightly as you could feel PK’s eyes on you, swallowing a large lump in your throat as you knew you would be considered an option.
George drew your head close to his, pressing a soft kiss on your temple. “I’m not letting you go.”

..
Kyra thought that last night had been a product of her dreams. She had kissed Y/n, her long-time friend and roommate while watching ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’. And when she woke up, she was cuddling with Y/n, which made everything even better.
Kyra’s arm was spread out on the mattress while Y/n slept on top of it, mouth slightly open as she breathed quietly. Her cast was on top of a pillow and her other–and good – leg was intertwined with Kyra’s. Kyra didn’t want to get out of bed, especially when Y/n’s sleeping face looked so cute, but it was 6:30 in the morning and both girls had a big day ahead of them.
The girl enjoyed a few seconds of Y/n’s warm body against her, but before Kyra could say anything, Y/n began to move slightly, pushing her face closer to Kyra’s body until she was lying on her chest, her left arm hanging on Kyra’s shoulder.
The physical touch was welcomed by Kyra. She gently ran her hands over Y/n’s scalp. “Good morning,” Kyra said in a hoarse morning voice.
“Hmm,” Y/n murmured, not opening her eyes, feeling the softness of Kyra’s shirt against her cheek. “What time is it?”
“Almost 7.”
“Too early, wanna sleep more.”
Kyra stroked her cheek. “I know, but you can take a nap after we get back from Arsenal, yeah? You have physio today.”
“I forgot about that,” Y/n said, finally opening her eyes to look at Kyra. “You’re pretty, did you know that?” she said smiling, still a bit dazed from the deep sleep she had been in.
Kyra blushed slightly, but hid it with a grin “Is that why you kissed me yesterday? Because I'm pretty or something?”
“Yeah… or something.,” Y/n said, kissing Kyra softly on the lips.
Kyra froze for a moment, but quickly melted into Y/n’s kiss.“We're just doing this now, aren’t we?” Kyra asked, smiling. “I mean, I'm not complaining.”
“What? Kissing? I guess so if you still want to.”
“Great, I do, I wanna do it a lot.”
“A lot?” Y/n giggled. “Won't even make me work for it” she said teasingly.
“If your leg wasn’t broken maybe, I might not be so nice,” Kyra said, tapping her chin. “But since I'm still your caretaker, then yes, you get free kisses.”
Y/n smiled, cupped Kyra’s jaw and brought her face closer, their lips touching. and Y/n deepened the kiss, neither caring if the other had morning breath or not.
“You’re the best caretaker, ever” Y/n whispered against Kyra’s mouth.
“Glad you like it, I might put it on my resume for when I retire,” Kyra said. She hesitated at first, but gently placed her hands under Y/n’s shirt, feeling the skin on her waist. “So I can get a job afterwards, or whatever.”
Y/n shook her head and kissed Kyra some more. “No, I don’t wanna share you with other sad and injured footballers, I just want you for myself.”
“So are you admitting you like having me around?” Kyra said.
“I mean, you give great kisses and you always remind me to take my medicine, so yeah, maybe I do.”
Kyra loved hearing that she gave great kisses. The thought of being complimented by Y/n made her brain go fuzzy. It was quite an overwhelming and new feeling. So Kyra turned to what she knew best: jokes.
Kyra pumped her fist dramatically in the air “Yey! Would you mind repeating that again?” She picked up her phone and opened a recording app.
“Oh fuck off,” Y/n pushed the phone away, laughing. “We were having a moment.”
“Sorry, couldn't help myself, let’s just kiss some more,” Kyra said before filling Y/n’s face with kisses.
..
They didn't talk about it.
They didn't talk about any of the kisses they had shared. They hadn't mentioned whatever it was they were doing, not because they didn't want to, or because it was awkward, it was just because it felt normal. As if they'd been in this domestic routine for ages.
Kissing Kyra; telling her she was pretty; cuddling up with her at night…it was all normal, comfortable and serene. Their routine didn’t change, they continued to do the same things every day, except they kissed.
Y/n was always very focused on football. So focused that she simply did not care about other things, like romantic relationships. She put everything she had into football because she knew it was up to her and no one else. She didn’t really open up to people, especially those who weren't her friends, so it was hard to build any type of romantic relationship.
However, after all these weeks of living with Kyra, she’d realised that her friend had meant a lot more to her, and she wasn’t afraid to show it. It felt good to finally let go and relax, to put football and her long-standing fear of vulnerability aside for a moment.
This wasn’t Y/n’s first time being with someone, she had one-night stands before, but they’d been very…awkward. In the mornings, she and random girls Y/n had met in London’s nightlife would dance around ‘good mornings’ and ‘see you’ or even ‘we should do this again’. But it was all very superficial, as it had to be.
Y/n was not sure what Kyra thought of their thing but she seemed to enjoy it. Y/n didn’t want to put a label on it. She just wanted to kiss Kyra some more, cuddle with her through the night and overall just enjoy their little domestic, and pretty much, ordinary life.
They didn’t have to rush into it, or overthink it. Just live in it for a while. There was no big elephant in the room that needed to be discussed. There was just Kyra and Y/n, and she was grateful for that.
After a few minutes of lying in bed and doing nothing, the girls left the bed and went to the kitchen to start their day.
“You can add the mushrooms and onions now, but let it cook before you add the salt and pepper” Y/n said. She sat on the kitchen counter while Kyra stood by the stove, wearing Y/n's apron with the saying ‘I love stirring things up’. It looked cute on her, but the size wasn’t right.
Y/n made a note to buy an apron just for Kyra. She didn’t really enjoy sharing her things. Red flag, yeah.
Kyra had a frown on her face, if Y/n hadn't known they were only making omelettes, she would have thought Kyra was being sent off to war.
“I hate cooking,” Kyra muttered, stirring the mushrooms uninterestedly.
“We can't live off of cereal for the next months to come,” Y/n said, without looking at Kyra, concentrating instead on the recipe book in her hand. “Can you also chop the spinach for me when you're done?”
Kyra grumbled so that was a yes.
Y/n took the eggs and the bowl that were already on the counter and started beating the eggs with a whisk.
Y/n loved to cook. It was one of the most therapeutic things for her. She loved cooking for herself and for others. She took pride in eating something and being able to explain, step by step, what she had done and what ingredients she had used.
When she got injured the doctors had told her that she wouldn't be able to stand for long periods of time, so cooking and baking was promptly removed from the list of things she enjoyed, but couldn't do, along with football and morning runs.
This was the first day she had cooked since the injury. She had tried cooking standing up in her crutches but this had led to her falling over while trying to pick up ingredients from the pantry. She had cried her eyes out of anger before Kyra found her on the floor, a mess of tomatoes and beetroot down with her.
She felt frustrated and pathetic, but there was nothing she could do about it except accept that she was fated to eat Kyra’s bad food for a while.
A few weeks after that incident, she tried another strategy, the one she was doing right now: sitting on the counter while giving instructions to Kyra, but, of course, she got frustrated again because Kyra couldn't follow instructions and Y/n was too much of a control freak, so she gave up cooking one more time
However, something had happened between Kyra and Y/n–they kissed! Y/n hoped that since they shared quite a few kisses, they could successfully share a kitchen as well, so she tried cooking again.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Y/n shouted from the other side of the kitchen.
Kyra stopped putting whatever spice she was adding to the food and looked at Y/n confused, holding the spice jar in the air.“What? You told me to add salt and pepper on it after it was cooked!” Kyra said, defending herself.
“That's not pepper, that's paprika!” Y/n pointed out, hands down her face. “Now our omelette is ruined!”
“No, it's not,” Kyra made a face. “It's just paprika, not cocaine. We can eat it just fine.”
“Here, pass me the eggs,” she demeaned. “Are they frothy already?”
Y/n took the bowl from the counter, and put it behind her, trying to get out of Kyra’s reach. “We're not putting my eggs on that. I hate paprika, it makes everything taste horrible.”
Kyra was silent for a moment, her face stoic. “Are you being serious right now?”
“Yes.”
“Why the hell do you have paprika if you hate it, then?” Kyra questioned.
“You can't be a real cook and not have paprika in your kitchen.” Y/n shrugged.
Kyra tried to take the bowl from her again, but Y/n was quicker and got it out of the way, holding it to her body for dear life.
“I'm being serious! Maybe we can throw the anions, mushrooms and spinach mix away and you can make it again, using the right and correct seasoning this time.” Y/n suggested.
“You want me to chop the onions again?!” Kyra said with a gasp. “I just cried, chopping them.” She pointed at the onions as if they had hurt her.
“Maybe you can try wearing sunglasses this time?” Y/n pointed.
Kyra didn't respond. The girl just turned away and opened one of the upper cupboards, taking out three boxes of cereal with one hand and two bowls with the other.
She placed the cereal boxes and the bowls next to Y/n and pointed At each box. “Do you want Coco Pops, Raisin Oats or Weetabix?”
Y/n stared at the cereals, disgust on her face. “What?!”
“Cereal. Which one do you want?” Kyra pointed at each of the boxes again, repeating its brand name.
“I don't want cereal,” Y/n said, more sassy than she liked to admit it.
“Well, but I do,” Kyra said, picking up the Coco Pops one, and pouring it into a bowl.
Before taking a spoonful, she took a step closer and kissed Y/n on the nose, then packed her on the mouth. "You're way too bossy in the kitchen–my cortisol levels are through the roof,” she explained, taking a bite of her cereal.
Y/n pouted defeatedly, picked up the Raisin Oats and poured it into her own bowl, without saying a word.
Kyra tapped the spoon against the bowl in her hand. “Wow! That's actually so good,” Kyra said mouth=-full.
“You say that as if you haven't done this every day for the last week,” Y/n said grumpily, taking a spoon of her raising. It tasted so processed.
Kyra shrugged. “Well, at least your Raising tastes better than paprika anyway.”
Y/n and Kyra could share kisses and a house, but they couldn't share the kitchen, or even the same cuisine taste.
..
Kyra and Y/n arrived at Arsenal half an hour before the training. Which was plenty of time for Y/n to say hello to all the staff members and Win on her way in. Y/n didn’t realise how much she had missed the people she used to see every single day. All the staff members made sure to tell her how much they missed her too and wished her a recovery.
Y/n felt strange at first. In the changing room, everyone was wearing their training kit, and boots and had their hair up, ready for training, everyone except for Y/n, who stood in the middle of the room, and couldn't help but feel like the odd one out, even though all the girls assured her that she was still very much part of the team.
It was still difficult to be surrounded by such amazing players, and friends, while Y/n had only just learned how to walk on her crutches without stumbling.
“Look who's here!” Leah was the first to see Y/n, greeting her with a hug. “How have you been? Giving that pest over there a hard time?”
“Always,” Y/n said, winking at her captain.
“Y/n! I didn't know you were coming in today.” Alessia said, being the next one in line to give Y/n a warm welcome.
Y/n hugged Alessia as she waved at other teammates, who were just as happy to have her back, even if it wasn't for playing or training.
“Kyra didn't tell you that I've been cleared to start physio with our physiotherapists here at Arsenal?” Y/n asked, turning to look at Kyra, who was sitting on the bench, putting her boots on.
“I did tell them!” Kyra said, defensiveness in her tone “But they didn't believe me.”
“Easy there, little pest,” Steph said behind Kyra, patting her on the back. “This is what happens when you think it's funny to make up stories, and now we don't believe you when you tell the truth.” Steph walked past a stunned Kyra, coming to greet Y/n. “But it doesn't matter anymore because Y/n is actually here!”
“Bloody hell! Is this still about the loose screws?! Have some mercy and let it go!” Kyra said, pulling her hair into a ponytail.
The team laughed at Kyra and for a few seconds Y/n felt what she used to feel before her injury, a sense of belonging to the people around her and to her club… After all the girls chatted with Y/n, they left the changing room and headed onto the pitch, leaving only Y/n, Kyra and Alessia still chatting, just like old times.
“And then Kyra tackled Renéé to the ground, can you believe it?!” Alessia said, having just finished telling her the story of how Kyra was responsible for getting Renée–aka their head coach–in the infirmary a few days ago.
“She told me to treat her like any other player,” Kyra mumbled. “I felt bad though, but she said she wasn’t angry.”
“I would give anything to see Renée get tackled,” Y/n laughed.
“I think Steph actually got it on video,” Kyra said.
Y/n’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Really?!”
Kyra smiled. “Nah, I’m joking.”
“I hate you,” Y/n muttered.
Alessia interrupted the two girls by putting one arm around Y/n, but not quite leaning over her so that Y/n wouldn't lose her balance. “Did you know I’m gonna be your physio-buddy today?”
“I fell hard on my shoulder yesterday, Mary wants to have a look at it.” She added.
Mary was Arsenal's upper body physiotherapist. Y/n wouldn’t be doing any sessions with her, instead, Clare would be the one to keep up with Y/n's injury. But both physiotherapists did the physical therapy in the same room, so Alessia and Y/n would spend the whole morning together.
Alessia led Y/n through the door of the changing room, heading to the opposite direction of the pitch, where the physio room was. They quickly noticed someone walking behind them.
Alessia smiled softly, “Aren’t you doing drills with the team today, Ky? Or do you also have an appointment with Mary too?”
Kyra blushed slightly as she shook her head. “No, I don't have an appointment. It’s just that–” Kyra turned to Y/n. “–don’t you want some help? I always help you walk around and… I can stay with you and Alessia during physio today too, I’m sure Renée won’t mind.’
“Thanks, Ky, but it’s ok.” Y/n looked down at her crutches then at Alessia and smiled softly at Kyra. “Lessie here will help me, you don’t need to worry about me now, just focus on your training.”
Kyra listened to Y/n but didn’t move. Kyra had spent most of her free time with Y/n. The only time they had been apart since her injury was when Kyra was at training, so it felt strange not to be by Y/n’s side when she could.
She knew Y/n would kill her if she ever knew how much Kyra was worried about her and her injury all the time. Y/n absolutely didn’t like people fussing over her, so Kyra was having a particularly hard time today.
She needed to give Y/n some space away from her, maybe it would do her some good, and make her feel more independent too.
“I'll keep an eye on her, Kyra, ” Alessia said, placing a comforting hand on Y/n's back. “Don't worry, go on, if anything happens I'll come get you, yeah?”
Y/n smiled and Kyra a thumbs up, reassuring her that she could leave
Kyra just nodded her head, a small smile on her face as she turned around and walked away.
Y/n would be fine. Why wouldn't she be fine? She was only doing physio, for God’s sake. Kyra thought, a mix of emotions on her mind as she left the two girls alone.
“She seems very concerned about you,” Alessia said. “Did you fall or something? When Leah was injured she fell down the stairs of her house, remember?”
“Yeah I do remember that, I was the one that had to come to her house to help her” Y/n said. “I fell too, twice actually, once in the bathroom and once in the pantry a few days ago,” Y/n pointed to her crutches. “I still haven't got used to using them.”
“Was Kyra the one who helped you?”
“Yes, she was very nervous, but she didn’t wanna show it,” Y/n continued. “So she just kept saying I shouldn't try to kill myself trying to walk on my own because people would think I died because of her.”
“I think she was trying to hide how much she cared for you with her jokes,” Alessia said. “Did you know Clare and Mary had to ban her from getting into the physio room because she kept interrupting the other girls ’sessions to ask about your injury, and if there were any kind of new treatments around.
Y/n stopped and laughed at Alessia. “She did that? That’s so Kyra honestly.”
“Yes, but I think her ban was lifted a few days ago,” Alessia said jokingly as she opened the door to the physio room and helped Y/n to one of the therapy tables.
Thankfully the room was empty, so Alessia and Y/n were able to talk about whatever they wanted freely.
“It’s a little funny watching you and Kyra,” Alessia said, putting up a chair next to Y/n’s table. “I think we’re so used to seeing her acting as a menace and treating her like a little sister that we get a bit shocked when she acts more responsibly.”
“It’s adorable, really,” Alessia added.
Y/n smiled, thinking of Kyra’s soft face. “Yeah, she is.”
Y/n almost blurted out that she had never seen Y/n as a little sister, especially now. Y/n and Kyra weren’t exactly hiding that they were…kissing? snogging around? But Y/n still didn’t want to talk about it too much. It still felt too intimate. It was something that belonged to them.
“Kyra’s been treating me really well,” Y/n continued. “I mean she always jokes and teases me a lot, but she’s also very patient when I’m mad about my injury, and she always drives me around, so that’s a plus.”
Y/n wanted people to see Kyra the way she saw her. Not just someone who plays around, but also someone who’s very caring and generally loving.
“Well, I'm glad to know you have someone like Ky on your side right now.” Alessia smiled. “It makes me worry less about you and her, I feel like you act as her voice of reason sometimes. ”
“Please, I don’t need more people to worry about me, I promise.” Y/n rolled her eyes playfully. “This whole recovery is going slower than I thought it would be but I’m just learning to be patient.”
“You’ll get there,” Alessia said reassuringly.
“Now please let’s talk about something other than my stupid injury, please!” Y/n said dramatically, making Alessia laugh.
“Ok, so let me tell you what happened in the tunnel in our last game–” Alessia started the story, and both girls were busy while waiting for physio to begin.
..
“I'm never coming back here again,” Y/n mumbled as she sat on the bench, wind in her face, watching her teammates do running drills on the pitch. Physio had taken up two hours of her and Alessia’s morning and it was hard; Y/n even considered just cutting off her leg and leaving it there.
“Yes, you're,” Leah murmured from her side, drinking her water and watching her surroundings “Physio honestly sucks but you’ve just gotta do it, mate” The captain shrugged. “It’s good that you’re feeling pain, it means your nerves aren’t screwed up.”
“Yeah, but it fucking hurts!” Y/n complained, crossing her arm “
“Breaking a bone hurts, what made you think growing them back wouldn't,” Leah said condescendingly.
“Have people ever told you how much you suck at supporting others in need?”
“Have people ever told you how annoying you are when you whine?” Leah bit back.
Y/n rolled her eyes. “Hey, share your water with me, I left my bottle in Kyra's car.” Y/n made grabby hands, but Leah shook her head rather dramatically.
“Ew, no.” Leah said, “I hate sharing water, grab one from the cooler.”
Y/n raised an eyebrow at Leah, signalling at her cast. “Could you please get me some water, then?”
Leah complained all the way to the cooler and back, but finally handed Y/n her water bottle. “Are you like this with Cooney-Cross at home too?”
“Like this what?” Y/n asked, taking a sip of her cold water. Damn, she was thirsty.
“Demanding,” Leah said teasingly, taking the spot next to Y/n again.
“I wasn’t at first. I didn’t like asking for help,” Y/n answered, her eyes searching the pitch for Kyra in the pitch. “But she cracked me.”
“I think you cracked her too,” Leah said nonchalantly, watching Kyra as well.
“What?” Y/n asked, turning her head to Leah.
“She’s different.” Leah continued. “She’s not acting so much like a pest lately, she’s been more responsible, less reckless on the pitch too.”
Y/n didn’t answer.
“I wonder if it’s because of you,” Leah added.
Wow, Leah, always the straightforward one.
“She’s a young player, we’ve all been like that once,” Y/n said, trying to steer the conversation, sensing something suggestive in Leah’s voice, but not wanting to give in to Leah, not.
“I wasn’t,” Leah said proudly.
Y/n laughed sarcastically. “Oh yeah, because you were always so calm and collected.”
“I beg your pardon? I have the least yellow card ib from this team,” Leah bit back, rolling her eyes “Anyway, I’m just casually, very casually, letting you know that I’m sensing something different in Kyra.”
Y/n didn't answer again.
“So I’m just leaving the door for this conversation open,” Leah continued, trying to sound chill, but Y/n had known her for a few years now. The captain had thought this whole conversation through. “If you ever want to talk about it, I mean, I’m here.”
Leah honestly could give two shits about other people’s lives, so Y/n was rather amused by Leah’s way of showing that she was interested in her life and in whatever she had to do with Kyra’s change in behaviour.
“Is this your way of trying to be casual? Because you failed, bro.”
Leah furrowed her eyebrows. “I’m just trying to be a good friend. Alessia told me I should be more welcoming, and more…emotionally available, so this is me trying. If you prefer my old version I can bring her back”
“Please bring back my old Leah,” Y/n said, playfully putting her palms together as if in a prayer.
“What happened between you and Cooney?” Leash asked bluntly.
This was the Leah she knew.
“Nothing happened between me and Kyra,” Y/n said. “We just got closer, we’ve been sharing a house for the last one to two months, in case you don’t remember. ”
It wasn’t exactly a lie, but it was the best Y/n could tell Leah right now.
Y/n and Kyra weren’t even dating, but Y/n couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if they disclosed whatever they had going on to the team. It wouldn't be anything new, it was very normal to date with your teammates.
Arsenal itself had a lot of couples that were brought together through the club, it wasn’t something unusual. But of course, when new couples formed the dynamics of the team changed a bit.
If they started dating, would people stop seeing Kyra as their little sister? Would the team stop seeing Y/n as this tough player who only had eyes for football and maybe a nightstand here or there?
When she thought about it Y/n realised that she really didn’t care about what her teammate thought about it. When Viv and Beth started dating, everyone just moved on with their lives, it was the same with Katie and Caitlin.
Y/n and Kyra just weren’t the type to make a big deal about it, they would probably just notice the shift between them and accept.
“I’ll pretend to believe you if you tell Alessia I tried doing the whole talk your feelings out with you,” Leah mumbled next to her, pulling Y/n out of her thoughts.
“So Alessia was the one who sent you, then? That little minx was with me the whole morning, she could've asked me.”
Leah shrugged, getting up from the bench and starting to warm up. “She didn't want to intrude.”
“So you intruded on her behalf?” Y/n asked, finding the whole situation funny.
“Yeah, I mean, you get closed off sometimes and it’s hard to reach out to you,” Leah said, more firmly now.
“It takes one to know one,” Y/n said, smiling at Leah.
Both women had been friends for a very long time. But the friendship between Leah and Y/n was different, they didn’t text every day, and they didn't plan to meet every week.
It was the kind of friend shared by two reserved people who enjoyed their privacy but still knew they could always count on each other
Y/n and Leah had the same faults, they were proud, stubborn and overly independent. So they knew each other, they knew how the other reacted to the world. And of course, they knew how hard it was for them to open up.
“Well, you know where I live if you ever feel like talking about why your eyes haven’t left Cooney for a second,” Leah patted Y/n’s back before running back to the pitch.
Maybe people would realise that she and Kyra were together sooner than she thought. Especially since Y/n was bluntly staring at Kyra while she played.
So what if she actually cheered a little when Kyra scored a goal?

eddie munson x cheerleader/popular reader, where the reader keeps asking eddie out on a date but he keeps rejecting them because why would a popular person want to be with him. Anyways, maybe something happened that made him realize that he believes them and would like to go out with them.
I hope this is what you wanted and you enjoy it. Thank you for requesting 🫶🏻
Asking me out?
Tumblr media
Y/N recently grew a crush on Eddie, the town's freak. She never saw something in him before, but all it took was one moment for it to change.
It was a Friday night and she was freezing her ass off on the field. But a big fake smile plastered on her face as she did the cheers. She let her eyes wander as the game played, and then she saw Eddie. He stood off to the side smoking a cigarette, she was surprised he wasn't asked to leave. He had one hand in his pocket and his hair was covered with a black beanie. He must have felt her stare because he looked in her direction.
She froze as she couldn't look away, his eyes kept her in a daze. His eyes warmed up her body and she felt her face burn when he winked.
That was all it took, that night she dreamed about it and woke up with the biggest crush she's ever had.
When Monday rolled around she had a skip in her step. She wanted to ask Eddie out, she knew she'd sound crazy with it coming out of nowhere but who cares.
She found him at lunch and walked over to his table. A big smile on her face as she stood in front of him. He was so cute that it made her want to giggle for years. She was shocked that the girls didn't see how attractive he was.
"Can I talk to you?"
His table went silent
Eddie looked at her confused
"Me?" he asked, pointing to himself, her eyes never left him so it was clear who she meant. But he had no idea why.
She grabbed his hand and lifted him from the chair, he looked over at his friends as she pulled him into the hallway. She dropped his hand and turned around to face him
"I'm Y/N," she said as she smiled
"I know," he said, "I mean! I'm Eddie," he stuttered
"I know," she said with a small wink. Eddie wasn't sure if his heart racing was a good or bad thing.
"I saw you at the football game on Friday, and this might sound very forward, but I think you are insanely attractive and I'd love to go out on a date with you, maybe tonight?"
Eddie felt the need to clean his ears because there was no way Y/N, the prettiest cheerleader, asked him out. He stared at her like she had multiple heads, and he had a feeling it coming out of nowhere was a trap. He would love to say "hell yes" but he was tired of being burned by people.
"I can't tonight, I have to babysit," he lied
"That's okay, how about tomorrow?" she asked
"I babysit all week and the weekend. You know, parents have kids but never want to take care of them," he nervously laughed
Y/N felt blown off and had a bad feeling he was lying. She was disappointed but she shrugged it off.
"Have fun, Eddie. Maybe another time," she spoke quietly, far less enthusiastic than before. And that made Eddie feel like shit.
"Yeah, thanks," he said, watching as her shoulders slumped as she walked back into the cafeteria.
~~~
In case he was telling the truth and had to babysit, she tried again for that "another time."
"Hey Eddie, do you want to get a bite to eat after the game?"
"I have to be home right away, I'm sorry"
And then she tried another time, and another, and another. He always seemed to be busy. But she really liked him and she wanted to try one last time.
Eddie was sitting against the school's building as he waited for Wayne to pick him up, his van decided to not start and left him stranded.
Y/N walked over, standing at his feet.
Eddie looked up as a shadow covered him. There she was, beautiful as ever. She made Eddie nervous and he didn't like to be nervous.
"What are you sitting out here for?" she asked, Eddie could feel his stomach flutter when she smiled.
"Van died so waiting for my ride," he shrugged
"I can give you a ride, and as a thank you for it maybe we could get ice cream?" she offered, more shy each time since she knew he'd say no.
"He's already on his way so you don't have to worry about me," he said as he stood up
"What about just ice cream then? I can pick you up." She kept trying and he kept shutting her down
"I'll probably be in the shop with my van, but once it's fixed I should have some free time, I'll find you."
~~~
Eddie arrived in his van a few days later, and he never talked to her. It hurt to admit, but he was never going to say yes and she had to move on.
He found her eyes and quickly looked away, when he looked again she was gone.
A few days passed and she stopped walking up to him. Sometimes they'd make eye contact, and she'd smile and then look away. Anytime she walked in his direction he held his breath, letting it free when she walked passed him.
He missed talking to her, even if it was always two sentences. He liked having her attention but he was scared of what would come after if he said yes. Would a bucket of water be dumped on him? Was it a bet? Would he find himself shoved in a closet and beaten up?
It was a risk he wasn't willing to take.
~~
Eddie was walking to his campaign when he walked passed the gym and heard his name.
He peeked inside to see Y/N and Chrissy stretching. Eddie was a simple guy so he had to take his time looking at Y/N as she sat in her uniform.
"Are you going to try again?" Chrissy asked, her hand stretched out to her feet
"No," Y/N sighed
"What? But you really like him!" Chrissy gasped
"Chris, it's clear he doesn't like me. I can count the amount of times he said no on two hands. I'm done embarrassing myself. It's a crush, I'll get over it," Y/N shrugged
"Yeah, but you haven't liked a guy in a long time! Are you sure you want to give up?"
"I know you are trying to be a good friend, but you won't change my mind. If he liked me, he would make time work in his apparently busy schedule. I'm probably not his type and that's okay." Y/N explained, mostly trying to make herself feel better.
"You're right, but his loss because I know a ton of single guys who have been asking about you!" Chrissy gushed
Eddie was leaning so far that the door opened and he fell right through. He cussed as he landed on his stomach. The fall caught the girl's attention and he blushed in embarrassment.
"Eddie? Oh my are you okay?" Y/N asked, rushing over
Chrissy was behind her, a look of worry on her face
"I'm good," he said through clenched teeth. He moved to his knees and felt soft hands helping him stand up. Once he was on his feet he wanted to run.
"Were you pushed?" Y/N asked, worried he might have been getting picked on.
Eddie couldn't tell which was less embarrassing
"Uh no, I was eavesdropping, and well karma," he said as he brushed his dirty hands against his jeans. Chrissy nodded and backed away, giving them privacy to talk.
"Oh! So you heard all of that, huh?" Y/N asked, groaning in embarrassment
"Yeah and look I'm sorry I kept rejecting you. I wasn't sure if you were serious or not and I was a little scared," Eddie said
"Scared of what? and why would I be lying?" she asked
"You're popular and I've never had a popular girl take interest in me that wasn't for some type of joke. I figured you were asking me out as a joke or to set me up for something. And I'm sorry for assuming, I didn't know you genuinely like me."
"I can understand that. I hope you know that I'd never do something cruel to anyone. I'm not like that," she explained
"And I believe you. I know I kinda had a million shots to go out with you and I fucked them all up. But can I make it up to you?" he asked, hope in his eyes as she smiled
"Are you asking me out, Eddie?" she teased
"I am," he said as he smiled, "What do you say?"
"I think I'm busy for the whole year, sorry," she said, Eddie stood shocked as she turned around and walked away.
He felt his body slump at the rejection, but he guessed he deserved it. He turned around and headed out of the gym.
He made it down the hall when he heard his name being called, he turned around.
"That's for saying no. But I'd love to go out with you," she said as she walked towards him
"I did deserve that," he laughed but walked towards her, "tonight after practice, we can grab that bite to eat?"
"I'll see you then," she said with a smile. She leaned in and pecked his cheek softly.
Eddie blushed as her lips touched his skin
He watched as she walked back to practice, head in the clouds.

Nightmares
Alexia Putellas x Reader
The soft hum of the television was the only sound in the dimly lit living room. You sat curled up on the couch, a blanket wrapped tightly around you, eyes glued to the screen. Your friend had insisted that this movie was a must-watch. A masterpiece, they said. A cinematic experience, they promised.
They did not mention the sheer terror it would leave you with.
As the credits finally rolled, you let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding. Every shadow in the apartment suddenly felt darker, every creak in the wood louder. You shook your head, trying to push away the lingering fear.
"Ridiculous," you muttered to yourself, standing up. "It’s just a movie."
Still, you hesitated before turning off the living room light, glancing down the hallway that led to the bedroom. The thought of walking through the darkness sent a shiver down your spine. Taking a deep breath, you quickly rushed to the bedroom, slipping inside as quietly as possible.
Alexia was already asleep, her steady breathing filling the room. She had gone to bed early, needing the rest before her game tomorrow. You envied how peaceful she looked, her blonde hair slightly tousled against the pillow. Carefully, you climbed into bed, scooting close to her warmth.
"It's just a movie," you whispered to yourself again.
Pressing your face into her shoulder, you focused on her steady presence until, finally, exhaustion won, and you drifted off.
---
A few hours later, Alexia stirred. At first, she wasn’t sure what had woken her up. The room was quiet, the air still. But then, she felt it—your restless movements beside her.
Frowning, she turned on the bedside lamp, casting a warm glow over the bed. Her eyes immediately landed on you.
Your face was scrunched up, your brows furrowed, and your lips parted as you mumbled unintelligibly. Your body twisted beneath the covers, as if trying to escape something.
"Mi amor," Alexia whispered, her voice gentle but concerned. She placed a warm hand on your arm and gave you a small shake.
You jolted awake with a sharp gasp, eyes wide and wild as you frantically looked around. Your chest rose and fell rapidly, your breathing uneven. The fear in your expression made Alexia’s heart squeeze.
"Hey, hey," she murmured, immediately reaching for you. "It’s okay. It was just a dream."
Your lips trembled as you nodded, though it was clear you were still shaken. Alexia cupped your face, her thumb gently stroking your cheek.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked softly.
"It was just a nightmare," you whispered, voice slightly shaky. "But I'm okay."
Alexia didn’t look convinced.
You swallowed and sat up, running a hand through your hair. "I’m just going to get some water. You should go back to sleep."
Alexia sat up as well, crossing her arms. "No."
You blinked at her. "What?"
She gave you a pointed look. "I’m coming with you."
"You don’t have to, Lex. You need to rest—"
"I don’t care." She was already getting out of bed. "Let’s go."
There was no arguing with her, so you sighed and led the way to the kitchen. You filled a glass with water, your hands still slightly shaky. Alexia leaned against the counter, watching you closely.
"Do you want to tell me what it was about?" she asked after a moment.
You hesitated. "It’s stupid."
"It woke you up in a panic. That’s not stupid."
You sighed, swirling the water in your glass. "I, uh… I watched a horror movie before bed. Bad idea."
Alexia’s lips twitched, but she didn’t laugh. Instead, she stepped closer and wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you into her warmth. "Mi amor," she murmured, pressing a kiss to your temple. "You know you get scared easily. Why did you do that to yourself?"
"I thought I could handle it," you admitted sheepishly.
She chuckled softly, but there was only fondness in her voice. "Come on. Let’s go back to bed."
You nodded, letting her guide you back to the bedroom. As soon as you climbed under the covers, Alexia pulled you close, her arms securing you against her. She pressed another soft kiss to your forehead before resting her chin on top of your head.
"Sleep," she whispered.
With her warmth around you, her steady heartbeat beneath your ear, the fear slowly melted away.
Alexia was your safe space.
And with her holding you like this, no nightmares dared to return.

I am humbly asking for more Amazon reader x mark whenever you have the time
your fics are so good I can't even😭🤚🏼🩷
Survival of the Weakest (Me)
Tumblr media
Note: Honey, I JUST scraped the bottom of my requests. Another Amazon/Alien reader fic coming up! Honestly, I'm having a bit of writers block having to write smut regularly, so were changing it up a bit.
Warnings: Fluff, Mentions of Smut, Improper Use of Powers, Plantary Exploration, Changes to The Plot For Convenience, Mark Fighting For His Life, Explicit Language, etc. (Previous Part: She Threw Me-- Then Kissed Me!)
Synopsis: Since your last mishap, you both enjoy some domestic comfort until Cecil returns with a mission—one that only stirs trouble.
Mark Grayson/Invincible x Alien/Amazonian!Reader
Word Count: 2,183
Cecil was generous enough to give you and Mark a short break before your next mission. He called it a “decompression period.” You’re pretty sure it was just so he wouldn’t have to deal with another building collapse before 9 AM. This was a reward more than anything. Having many instances after venturing into domesticated couple territory. Mark refuses to admit he gets cold easily.
You found out the truth when you woke up one night to find him curled up entirely around you, his face buried in the crook of your neck, arms locked around your waist like a vice. You blinked groggily. “Are you leeching warmth off me?” Mark, half-asleep, just grumbled. “Shut up. ‘M comfortable.” You smirked in the dark. “Mark Grayson, Earth's greatest hero, is needy?” He groaned into your neck, tightening his grip. “Don’t ruin this.” You laughed softly but didn’t push him away. Honestly? You liked it too. Sparring now became an act of foreplay. Mark liked to act like he hated sparring with you. “This is just you throwing me around for an hour,” he complained one evening as you stretched before your match. You grinned. “You say that like you don’t like it.” Mark scowled, but the faint pink in his ears betrayed him. “I—That’s not the point.” You hummed, stepping closer, trailing a finger down his chest.
“What is the point, then?” Mark swallowed thickly. “I—I dunno. Winning?” You smirked. “Oh, Mark.” Your hand trailed lower, grazing his stomach before you pulled away. “You’re not winning.” The frustrated noise he made was so satisfying. You’re starting to think he loses on purpose now to get a happy ending. The main problem is that you and Mark have vastly different definitions of “decompression.”
Currently, Mark is watching you from across the room, wide-eyed, as you casually lift the entire couch—Mark still sitting on it—to vacuum underneath. “Uh.” He clutches the armrest as the couch hovers midair. “You know most people just… move the furniture, right?” You give him a deadpan look.
“That’s inefficient.”
“You just suplexed the couch.”
“And?”
Mark sighs, running a hand down his face. “You are the earthquake.” Just as you’re about to drop the couch back down (gently… probably), the door slams open.
Enter Debbie Grayson.
You like Debbie. She’s intelligent, perceptive, and has the uncanny ability to make Mark panic with just a well-timed stare. Right now, she’s holding a bag of groceries and blinking at the scene before her—her son, sitting stiffly on a levitating couch, his superpowered girlfriend holding it with one arm like it's a gym weight.
“…Am I interrupting something?” she asks, entirely too amused.
“Nope,” Mark says quickly, before you can make it worse. You lower the couch carefully and cross your arms. “Mark was just questioning my methods.” Debbie gives Mark a knowing look. “Oh, honey. That’s your first mistake.” Mark groans, leaning back into the couch. “Oh my god, not you too.” Debbie just pats his shoulder and winks at you. “Good. Keep him on his toes.”
You definitely like Debbie. Especially since her husband was Omni-Man, just who would be a better parent for your boyfriend? After a week of domestic madness (which included Mark trying to teach you to cook—never again), Cecil calls you both in for a mission. “This one should be relatively simple,” he starts. Mark and you exchange a look. Last time Cecil said that, Mark almost got vaporized. Cecil sighs, clearly reading your expressions. “I mean it this time. It’s a diplomatic mission. You’re going to a planet called K’thara—highly advanced, warrior-based society, kind of like Themyscira, but, y’know, planet-sized.”
Mark raises an eyebrow. “And they need us, because?”
“They just entered an alliance with Earth,” Cecil explains. “They want to meet some of our champions—specifically ones that align with their, uh, values.” Mark blinks. “Values?” You exhale sharply, already seeing where this is going. “They believe in strength. Only strength.” Cecil nods. “Exactly. Which is why I’m sending you two.” You glance at Mark. Mark glances at you.
Oh. This is going to be hilarious. The K’tharans are… intense. The planet itself is stunning—mountains that stretch into violet skies, rivers that glow under twin moons. The people? They look like they were sculpted from stone, every single one of them built like a walking, talking weapon. And they love you. Mark? Not so much.
You’ve been here for three hours, and they’ve already tried to challenge Mark to seven fights. “You sure this is a diplomatic mission?” he mutters, dodging yet another warrior trying to throw him into an arena. You smirk. “They respect you. They just want to see how much.” Mark groans. “I feel so respected.” It’s all going relatively smoothly—until the feast.
One of the high-ranking warriors, a woman with armor made of what looks like dragon scales, leans in and studies you. “You are mated?” she asks. Mark nearly chokes on his drink. You answer for him. “Yes.” The warrior nods approvingly. “And you have claimed his seed?” Mark definitely chokes. “I—what?” The warrior frowns. “You have not bred yet?” Cecil is going to kill you both.
Mark is mid-coughing fit, so you decide to poke the bear. You hum thoughtfully, glancing at Mark with slow amusement. “It’s a work in progress.” Mark whips his head toward you, eyes wide with betrayal. “Wha—what?!” His innocent demeanor is a distinct contrast from in the bedroom, its nearly humorous. The warrior nods sagely. “Ah. You are waiting for a battle first.” You smirk. “Something like that.” Mark drags a hand down his face, looking like he wants to melt into the floor. “Oh my god.” You lean closer, voice dropping so only he can hear. “Perhaps we should have a match of our own when we return. K’tharan rules, of course.” Mark blinks rapidly. “Are those… the rules where the winner gets to claim the loser?” You tilt your head, pretending to consider. “Maybe.” Mark swallows hard. “…I don’t know if I should be excited or terrified.” You just grin. “Both.”
After being thoroughly embarrassed at dinner, Mark somehow agrees to a fight with a K’tharan warrior. Ten minutes later, you’re standing over Mark’s sprawled-out body in the middle of the arena. He’s still breathing. Barely catching the wind that was knocked out of him.
The K’tharans are impressed—he lasted longer than most outsiders. But when he groans, tilting his head up at you with dazed, half-conscious eyes, he just mumbles: “…This was a bad idea.” You crouch down, smirking. “Told you.” He grins weakly. “I still think you like seeing me like this.” You tilt your head, pretending to consider. “Maybe a little.” Mark sighs, letting his head fall back.  “Yeah. Thought so.”
At least this time, he’s the one who got thrown through a wall. Not to mention, seeing him battered and bruised was a new type of eye candy.
Cecil watches as you and Mark stand in front of him, Mark still nursing a bruised rib. After a long pause, he pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. “Okay. What happened?” Mark shifts awkwardly. “Uh… Culture shock?”
Cecil gives you both the flattest stare imaginable.
“You destroyed another alien embassy.” You shrug. “To be fair, it was Mark’s fault this time.” Mark scoffs. “My fault? You encouraged it!” Cecil groans. “I can’t do this. I cannot do this.” He waves you both off. “Just—just go. I don’t even want to look at you right now.”
Mark brightens. “So no punishment?”
“Oh, no. You’re grounded. Both of you.” You blink. “You can ground a superhero?” Cecil glares. “You wanna find out?” You exchange a look with Mark. Then, wisely, you both decide to make yourselves very scarce. Another successful mission. Kind of. You stretch languidly, feeling the pleasant ache settle into your muscles as you lie sprawled across Mark’s chest. His arm is draped lazily over your waist, his breath still slightly uneven. The training mat beneath you is ruined, scuffed with deep imprints from where your little “match” had gotten… out of hand.
Mark exhales a very satisfied sigh, grinning up at the ceiling. “Okay. Yeah. That was definitely worth getting my ass kicked for.” You smirk, tracing idle patterns along his bare chest. “You lasted longer than I expected.” Mark turns his head, raising an eyebrow. “I dunno if that’s a compliment or an insult.” You hum, pretending to think about it. “Both.” He groans, dragging a hand down his face. “God, you love making me suffer.”
You prop yourself up on one elbow, eyes glinting with amusement. “Oh, Mark.” You lean down, lips brushing against his ear. “I haven’t even started yet.” His breath hitches. You grin, satisfied, rolling off him and stretching again. His eyes were just barely tearing away as he watched the fat of your breasts rise. Mark just lays there for a moment, staring at the ceiling like he’s having some sort of existential crisis.
Then—
BZZT!
Mark groans, fumbling for his communicator. He flips it open, already dreading whatever’s coming. “Yeah?” Cecil’s very unimpressed voice crackles through the speaker.
“No, Mark.” A heavy sigh. “You two are officially grounded.” Mark blinks. “Wait—what? Again?!” You raise an eyebrow, watching in amusement as he struggles to sit up. Cecil continues. “Do you have any idea how expensive that facility is? And yet, somehow, somehow, you and your girlfriend—again—managed to destroy it without even being on a mission.” Mark winces. “Okay, first of all—”
“Nope! Not listening.” Cecil cuts him off. “You’re both banned from the training facility indefinitely. Do you even know how long it took to fix it the last time?” Mark glances around at the deep cracks in the mat, the wall dented from where his back definitely hit it too hard. “Uh…” Cecil sighs so hard it sounds like he aged another decade. “You both have two weeks of mandatory non-super work.”
Mark’s jaw drops. “Non-super—wait, what does that even mean?” Cecil’s voice is flat. “Paperwork.” You blink. “You can’t be serious.” “Oh, I am.” Cecil practically radiates smug satisfaction. “You break my facility? You file every single report from the past two months. Welcome to hell, kids.” Mark stares at his communicator, horrified. “Cecil, please—”
Cecil hangs up.
Silence.
Mark flops back onto the mat, covering his face. “Oh my god. We’re actually grounded.” You exhale, lying back beside him. “…This is your fault.” He gapes at you. “My fault?! You were literally on top of me!” You smirk. “Exactly.” Mark groans dramatically, throwing an arm over his eyes. “This is my villain origin story.” You just laugh, rolling onto your side and nudging him. “Come on, Grayson. What’s a little suffering compared to the privilege of losing to me?”
Mark grumbles something under his breath about never winning anything, but you can see the small smile tugging at his lips.
Two weeks of hell or not… it was totally worth it.
The next morning, Mark is dead. Not literally. But if someone were to find his limp, exhausted body sprawled across his bed, they would absolutely assume you killed him. His limbs don’t work. His soul doesn’t work. His entire existence is currently being held together by sheer willpower and the soft, warm sheets that he physically cannot move from. He groans, barely managing to tilt his head toward you. “You… ruined me.”
You stretch beside him, completely unbothered, looking very pleased with yourself. “I warned you, Grayson.” Mark grunts, throwing an arm over his face like a man who has seen things. “I thought you were being dramatic.” You smirk. “And now?” Mark just makes a wheeze of a sound, which you’re pretty sure is all he’s capable of at the moment.
You roll onto your side, tracing a slow, teasing hand down his bare chest, watching him shiver despite his clear exhaustion. “I don’t know… You did hold your own for a while.” Mark cracks one eye open, looking at you like you just suggested he fight Battle Beast again. “A while? A while?! I blacked out at least twice.” You hum thoughtfully. “Then maybe I should’ve gone easier on you.” His hand barely twitches before his strength returns, gripping your wrist. “No.” He exhales, staring at the ceiling in exhausted surrender. “Never. Ever. Hold back on me.”
Your smirk softens, something warm settling in your chest. For all of his complaining, for all of his wheezing, Mark likes this. He likes you. Not just the softness, not just the intimacy—he likes the challenge. He likes that you don’t treat him like glass, that you don’t make him feel like he has to be gentle all the time.
And he stares at you as if you’re a goddess, features carved by the hands of the universe. His muse, even. Long, dark curls cascade down your back like a waterfall, your eyes deep and enigmatic, and the streaming sunlight dusts freckles that dust her flesh that shimmer like starlight.
You hum, pressing a slow, lazy kiss against his jaw. “You’re a glutton for punishment, Grayson.” Mark groans again. “Yeah, well. I also might not be able to walk for, like, a week.” You grin. “Good thing we’re grounded.” You wouldnt admit it, but your lower back nearly had you bed ridden, he surely doubled his efforts and then some.
Then—
BZZT!
Mark lets out a noise that is almost a sob, reaching for his communicator without lifting his head. “No. Not today. I can’t. I’m dead.” Cecil’s voice crackles through the speaker. “I don’t care what excuse you’re about to give me, Mark. You and your girlfriend have twice the paperwork now. Get up.”
Mark actually groans. You stretch luxuriously, completely ignoring the way he’s suffering beside you. “Guess you have to get up, Grayson.” He flops onto his stomach, groaning dramatically into the mattress. You laugh, running a hand through his hair. “Come on. Let’s get this over with.” Mark doesn’t move. You raise an eyebrow. “Mark.”
“Mmmpf.” He replies, so you poke his side. Nothing. You smirk, leaning down to his ear. “Fine. If you’re too sore, I guess that means I win again.” Mark’s eyes snap open. “Oh hell no.” He groans loudly, rolling onto his side like it’s the hardest thing he’s ever done, before staggering up to his feet. He wobbles and you bite your lip to stop yourself from laughing. Mark glares at you. “Say nothing.” You do as asked but the smug look on your face says it all. He is never living this down.
BONUS: Later, at GDA Headquarters…
Cecil watches as Mark and you slump into your seats, Mark looking especially wrecked.
After a long, scrutinizing pause, Cecil pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs.
“…You know what? No. I don’t wanna know.”
Mark just groans, dropping his head onto the desk.
And you? Your arms crossed over your chest, as you silently grimace.

Most of the Mid-Wilshire Police Department only knew Tim Bradford as the hard-ass training officer who never cracked a smile. They would see someone who had the toughest exterior known to man and assumed he was the same outside of work. But in actuality, Tim had a secret that very few knew about. And that secret was about to come out.
“Good morning, Tim.” Your sweet voice says softly as Tim blinks his eyes open, a smile coming to his face as his eyes lock with yours.
“Good morning, Baby,” Tim replies, instantly reaching across to wrap an arm around your waist, tugging you close so he can press a soft kiss to your lips as you giggle.
“You’re up earlier than usual.” Tim then muses with a light laugh as he notices the time on the clock behind you, knowing you always woke up after his alarm went off.
“Your daughter wanted a glass of water and who am I to deny her what she wants?” You reply, curling into Tim as he presses a kiss to the top of your head.
“My daughter?” Tim asks, an amused tone to his voice, pulling away enough to be able to look down at you.
“She wakes up at the crack of dawn most mornings. She gets that from you.” You laugh, watching as Tim lets out a gentle laugh before giving you another soft kiss.
“Momma! Daddy!” You glance over your shoulder to see your little girl Mia rushing into your room, and you open up your arms to catch her when she launches herself onto yours and Tim’s shared bed.
“Good morning, Sweetheart.” Tim greets Mia with a smile as she clambers from your embrace to Tim’s, giggling as he peppers her face with kisses. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched Tim and Mia interact. You remembered how in your early stages of pregnancy, Tim had been terrified, he was scared he was going to end up like his own father or that something would happen to him and leave you alone with a baby to take care of. But the moment Mia was born and he held her in his arms for the first time, Tim knew that he would go through hell and back to protect his little girl. He wanted to give her the whole world and more. You saw how Tim took to being Mia’s dad easily, he loved her like it was breathing and he made sure he was a present parent in her life.
“Can I have breakfast, please?” Mia asks, looking between you and Tim with the puppy dog eyes that melted you both down in seconds.
“Let’s get you ready for preschool first, then we’ll make breakfast,” Tim says, scooping Mia up into his arms, and sitting her on his hip as he gets out of bed. As he takes Mia back to her room to get her ready for the day, you get up and begin to change yourself, readying yourself for the day before heading out to the kitchen to begin making breakfast.
“Momma! Daddy said I could help make breakfast!” Mia comes hurtling into the kitchen, excitedly looking up at you as you laugh.
“Of course, you can help, Sweetie. What would you like for breakfast?” You ask, finding the little stepstool so that Mia can reach the kitchen counter to assist you in making breakfast.
“Cereal please.” She requests as you nod, already handing her one of her favourite princess bowls. Mia reaches up to the cupboard you kept the cereal in while you watched carefully. Mia was only five years old but she was already growing in her independence, and you knew she got that from Tim. Despite that, she was the sweetest little soul who loved and cared for everyone around her and you couldn’t be prouder to have her as your daughter.
“You got it, Sweetie? Do you want me to grab you the milk?” You ask softly, resting your hand on Mia’s back as you watch her carefully pour some cereal into the bowl, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth in her concentration.
“Yes please, Momma,” Mia asks, satisfied with the amount of cereal she’s put in the bowl as she carefully places the box down. You press a soft kiss to the top of Mia’s head before heading over to the fridge to grab the milk for her as Tim enters the kitchen, smiling at you both and now dressed for the day.
“How’s breakfast making going?” Tim asks, crossing to you and capturing your lips in a soft kiss before letting you give the milk to Mia.
“You’re getting soft, you know?” You say with a laugh, thinking about the way Tim used to be when you first met him.
“Only for my family,” Tim says, hovering near Mia to supervise as she tries to pour the milk herself, eventually placing his hand on the carton and giving Mia a helping hand.
“I forget work doesn’t get the same privileges as us.” You tease, beginning to prep both your and Tim’s morning coffees, putting them into their respective travel mugs before making Mia’s packed lunch and filling a bottle with water for her.
As Mia eats her breakfast, Tim makes breakfast for you and him while you pack Mia’s bag with everything she’ll need for the day. You then join Tim and Mia at the table to eat your breakfast before noting the time when you’ve finished eating and tidied away.
“We should head out. Don’t want you to be late to preschool, do we?” You say, tickling Mia quickly, smiling as she squeals and squirms.
“Daddy, help!” Mia calls out for Tim to save her, making him scoop her up in his arms, holding her close as you laugh.
“I’ll protect you, Mia,” Tim says, holding her close as you roll your eyes jokingly.
“You can protect her by taking her to preschool, then.” You say, picking up Mia’s bag and holding it out towards Tim who takes it and slings the small strap over his shoulder.
“I can do that. Are you okay to collect her this afternoon?” Tim says, carrying Mia over to the shoe rack and helping her put her shoes on while you follow behind, grabbing your own work bag.
“Yeah, that’s perfectly fine.” You say, bending down as you gently brush Mia’s stray hair away from her face.
“Bye, Momma,” Mia says, throwing herself into your arms. You’re quick to hug her back, relishing the feeling of her clinging to you.
“Bye, Sweetie. I’ll see you this afternoon.” You whisper, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head before releasing her from the hug, straightening up to say goodbye to Tim.
“You’ll stay safe, won’t you? Come home to us?” You ask quietly so Mia doesn’t hear you.
“I always do. Nothing can stop me from coming home to you both.” Tim reassures you softly, placing his hands on your waist to pull you a little closer. He understood your fears, and he knew you’d been living with them for years. After Mia was born your worry only increased which made Tim all the more determined to get home to his family after every shift. And after the recent incident where Tim got shot, you worried about him even more.
“I love you.” You whisper softly just before Tim cups your face softly in his hands, pressing a kiss to your lips.
“I love you too.” He whispers after pulling away from the embrace, smiling down at you softly to reassure you that little bit more.
“Daddy, come on we need to go!” Mia’s little voice snaps you back to reality as she tugs on Tim’s jacket, making you both laugh.
“Okay, okay, you have a point. Let’s get going, Princess.” Tim says, taking Mia’s little hand in one hand while grabbing both his bag and hers with the other before heading out of the front door to take Mia to preschool and then head to work. A few minutes after Tim leaves, you grab your keys and bag then head out to your car so you can make your way to work. You worked at the local high school so you knew your day was going to be busy as you began the drive to work.
As you arrived at work you greeted your colleagues as you passed them in the corridors, making your way to your classroom, heading over to your desk and placing everything down so you can get on with your morning tasks. You spend time prepping your classes and making sure you’re ready for the day before your students begin to file into the room, all of them greeting you with a smile as they cross to their desks and settle in their seats.
The day progressed like any other, nothing you weren’t used to working in a high school. You taught your classes and caught up with your coworkers during lunch. Until your phone rang with an unknown number. Instantly filled with dread and assuming the worst, you excused yourself from your coworkers and accepted the call, walking to a quiet corner of the staff lounge.
“Hello?” You say into the phone, your throat drying up in anticipation of any bad news.
“Hello, is this Mrs. Bradford?” A nervous female voice asks.
“Yes, it is. Who am I speaking to?” You confirm before asking the woman on the other end of the line for her name.
“I’m Officer Lucy Chen. I’m Officer Bradford’s rookie.” Lucy introduced herself, pacing anxiously back and forth in front of the door she knew Tim was behind. You recognised Lucy’s name quickly as you recalled Tim talking about her.
“Is Tim okay?” Your voice was shaky as tears threatened to well up in your eyes. You knew Tim didn’t open up about his personal life to anyone at work outside of Angela and Wade so the fact he told his rookie about you was ringing alarm bells in your head.
“He- you know I’ll just let him tell you himself,” Lucy says, placing the phone by the gap under the door and putting you on speaker.
“Tim?” Your voice came through to the other room, making Tim perk up the slightest bit at hearing your voice.
“y/n?” Tim replies, making you let out a slight sigh of relief from hearing his voice, even if it was partially muffled.
“Tim, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” You ask, your fear evident in your voice as Tim leans his head back, resting it against the door.
“There’s been an incident. I don’t know if I’ll make it home tonight.” Tim says, trying to find the words to describe what’s going on without panicking you further.
“Tim, talk to me. What’s happened?” You plead, desperate for answers.
“Don’t tell anyone at work about this. But we found out there’s a group wanting to disperse a virus within the city. We tracked one of the weapons to this house after a guy picked it up by accident and he got sick and… he coughed on me. I’m quarantining in this room while we wait for the CDC but if I start showing any signs of the virus, I want to go out on my own terms. I don’t want to go through what I just saw this guy go through. I owe it to you to tell you that.” Tim says, and you feel a tear slip down your cheek at his words.
“No. You’ll be okay. You’re going to come home.” You say, lifting your free hand to wipe your tears away before anyone notices.
“But I might not. And I want you to be prepared for that outcome. Just promise me you’ll give Mia a hug from me and tell her I love her so much.” Tim says, fighting back the building tears at the thought of not seeing you or Mia again.
“You’ll tell her that yourself. Just hold on. You’ll be okay.” You beg, hoping that by some miracle the CDC will enter the room Tim is in and save him.
“I love you so much,” Tim murmurs softly.
“I love you too.” You whisper quietly in response.
“You go back to work, okay? I’ll have someone call you no matter what happens. I promise.” Tim says, and as much as you wanted to tell him no, to tell him that you wanted to come and sit with him and be by his side when he needed you. But you understood that he wanted you to keep busy, and for you to try not to worry about him too much, although that ship had already sailed.
“Okay. I love you.” You say, hearing Tim’s whispered response before you hang up the phone, wondering how you are going to get through the rest of the day with these thoughts in your head. You were thankful that after lunch you had a free period so you didn’t have to worry about teaching any classes and could focus on grading papers and making new lesson plans to get a head start. As you worked, you found your gaze being drawn towards the framed picture you have on your desk of you, Tim, and Mia. All you could do was hope that Tim would be okay, you had no idea how you’d tell Mia if anything happened to Tim. Mia was the biggest daddy’s girl and you knew it would crush her if you had to look her in the eye and tell her that her daddy wasn’t coming home.
“Please be okay, Tim.” You whisper, hoping that by some miracle, someone will hear your whisper and be able to save Tim. Halfway through your free period, your phone buzzed once more and this time you saw Angela’s name displayed across your phone screen and you scooped your phone up instantly, answering the call.
“Angela, please tell me he’s okay.” You plead, pacing your classroom anxiously as you wait for Angela to respond.
“He’s on his way to the hospital. The CDC got there and administered the vaccine but as he was leaving the house he passed out. He’s going to Shaw Memorial.” Angela explains as Jackson drives them to the hospital.
“I’m getting Mia and I’m coming to the hospital.” You say, shoving everything in your bag with little to no consideration for anything else but getting to Shaw Memorial.
“I’ll be waiting for you both,” Angela says with a nod, ignoring Jackson’s confused glances, bidding you goodbye before hanging up the phone.
After ending the call, you finish packing your bag and immediately make a beeline for the principal's office, knocking and entering with permission.
“Ah, y/n, what can I do for you?” He says with a friendly smile which falters when he notices your worried expression and the bag on your shoulder.
“Something’s happened with my husband. He’s in the hospital and I need to go and see him. I have lesson plans all written up in my desk so a substitute can step in I just need to go and see Tim.” You explain, trying not to sound too flustered but you also knew you were failing miserably.
“Of course, you can go. We should have someone available, I’ll track them down before the next period. You’re free to go. I hope everything is okay.” He says softly, holding up a hand to calm you down. When you process his words, you let out a small sigh of relief, your shoulders sagging in relief.
“Thank you so much, Paul.” You thank him gratefully, beginning to back away towards the door before saying a quick goodbye and rushing out to your car. You waste no time driving over to the preschool Mia is at, soon pulling up outside and heading into the reception.
“Mrs. Bradford, how can I help you?” The receptionist, Poppy greets you as you enter the room, her normal smile plastered on her face.
“I would like to pick Mia up early, please.” You say as you reach the front desk, bracing your hands on the desk.
“Is everything okay?” Poppy asks, picking up on your worried expression instantly.
“Tim’s in the hospital.” You say quietly and Poppy’s eyes widen slightly, making her nod as she gets up from her seat.
“I’ll go and get her.” She says quickly, excusing herself and heading off to find Mia and bring her to you. Poppy was only gone for about five minutes and soon returned with Mia skipping along by her side.
“Momma!” Mia exclaims happily, rushing into your outstretched arms as you crouch down to catch her in your arms.
“Hi, Sweetie.” You greet her, trying not to let your voice wobble with emotion as you straighten up, taking her hand in yours and taking her bag from her with your spare hand as you thank Poppy before walking Mia out to your car, helping her into her car seat and buckling her in.
“Where are we going, Momma?” Mia asks, her voice filled with innocence as she watches you carefully. And as much as you wanted to protect her, you knew you couldn’t lie to her.
“Daddy’s in the hospital so we need to go and make sure he’s okay.” You explain, brushing some baby hairs away from her face as she frowns, eyebrows furrowing as she puts everything together in her head.
“Daddy’s hurt?” She asks quietly, making you realise she was thinking of when Tim was last hurt on the job.
“I’m not sure, Sweetie. The doctors will tell me what’s happened when we get there and then we can check on him.” You say softly, leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to the top of her head before you get behind the wheel, driving to the hospital. When you find a place to park, you help Mia out of the car, walking alongside her hand in hand while you call Angela, letting her know where you’re entering the hospital so she can meet you. It took you less than five minutes to locate Angela.
“Auntie Angie!” Mia calls out, rushing over to Angela who scoops Mia up in her arms, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
“Hey, Mia.” Angela greets you with a smile before looking over at you.
“How is he?” You ask quietly, watching Angela’s reaction carefully.
“He seems to be okay. He woke up before they got him into the hospital. He actually helped one of our rookies out of a tough spot. The doctors are waiting for you, I’ll keep an eye on Mia. I think you need some time alone with Tim first.” Angela says, causing you to let out a sigh of relief as you thank Angela quietly before crossing to the nurse's desk.
“Hello, I’ve been told my husband, Tim Bradford has been brought here. Can I see him?” You ask, watching as the nurse glances at you with a smile.
“Let me just get the doctor for you.” They say, paging the doctor who arrives in what feels like record time and quickly locates you still standing by the desk.
“Mrs. Bradford?” The doctor greets you softly, making you turn to face him with a smile and a nod.
“Yes. Is Tim okay?” You ask, desperate for answers.
“Your husband is okay. All his test results have come back clear and an allergic reaction to the vaccine caused his passing out.” The doctor explains, a smile on her face as you nod, happy tears coming to your eyes.
“Can I see him? Is that okay?” You ask, your fingers drifting to your wedding ring as you twist it nervously around your ring finger.
“Yes, you may. Follow me and I’ll take you to his room.” She says with a nod, turning and leading you to a room, stopping by the door and encouraging you to head in. After a deep breath, you open the door and head into the room.
“y/n.” Tim breathes out softly from where he is sitting on the hospital bed. You didn’t respond at first, instead striding across the room, sitting alongside Tim on the bed, grabbing his face in your hands and kissing him strongly. You had no words for how relieved you were to see Tim alive and well so all you could do in this moment was kiss him.
“You scared the shit out of me.” You whisper, pulling away enough to speak, your lips brushing up against his as your hands drop from Tim’s face to his shoulders.
“I’m sorry. I promise it was never my intention to scare you. I thought today was going to be an easy day at work.” Tim admits quietly, lifting a hand to cup your cheek in his hand and brush a thumb over the apple of your cheek softly.
“Last time you said that was after you got shot. Maybe you should stop assuming work’s going to be easy.” You weakly attempt to joke, pulling back a little more as Tim lets out a light chuckle, dropping his hand from your cheek, reaching up and taking one of your hands in his, rubbing his thumb across your knuckles rhythmically.
“Sounds like I should,” Tim says softly. There was then a slight lull in conversation as you thought of what Tim had said to you on the phone earlier.
“Did… did you mean what you said about going out on your own terms? Would you have really-” You cut yourself off, tears already stinging your eyes at the mere thought of Tim taking his own life.
“If you had seen what that virus did to a person, you’d understand why it was a serious consideration. I didn’t want to go through what I had just seen that guy Peter go through. That virus was horrible, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.” Tim explains, his eyes never leaving yours for a second as you nod lightly.
“So, you don’t feel like that normally? It was only because you thought you were sick with that virus?” You ask, watching Tim’s expression carefully.
“I promise you I don’t ever have thoughts like that. I’ve never been happier with my life than I am now. You and Mia are my life and you both make me so unbelievably happy. I promise.” Tim says, squeezing your hand to exaggerate his point. At his words, you nod, lifting your free hand to wipe the threatening tears away.
“You’d tell me if you ever felt like that. Wouldn’t you?” You ask softly, watching as Tim nods.
“Of course,” Tim whispers. Part of you knew that Tim had a tendency to keep his struggles to himself, but since starting a relationship with you he had gotten better at opening up about things so you at least had some comfort in the knowledge that he was more likely to come to you about any problems. With everything now discussed, you looked at Tim with a soft smile before speaking.
“Would you like to see Mia? She’s with Angela in the waiting room.” You say, not missing how Tim’s eyes lit up at the mention of his daughter.
“She’s here?” He asks, watching as you nod with a smile.
“I’ll go and grab her now.” You say, standing up and pressing a quick kiss to the top of Tim’s head before exiting the room and heading back to the waiting room where you see Mia sitting on a chair as a female police officer stands behind the chair as she did Mia’s hair. You didn’t know who this officer was but judging by everyone’s smiles, she was a good one.
“Momma! Look! Lucy did my hair!” Mia exclaims excitedly, hopping off the chair and showing off the braids she now had in her hair and when you hear Mia name the police officer, you realise that she must be the one who called you earlier.
“It’s very pretty, Mia! Did you thank Lucy?” You ask, guiding Mia back towards the group of gathered police officers.
“Thank you, Lucy!” Mia chirps, rushing over to the rookie who smiles and shakes her head.
“No need to thank me. Mia’s a sweetheart.” Lucy at first says to Mia before looking up at you and directing her next sentence to you.
“Aw thank you. But in all seriousness, I should be thanking you for calling me about Tim in the first place.” You thank Lucy gratefully, feeling like you owe her so much.
“Tim asked me to call you for him. All I did was dial the number.” Lucy says in an attempt to downplay what she did.
“You still let me know about what happened. That means a lot.” You say, smiling at Lucy who nods with a shy smile of her own.
“I’d love to spend time chatting but I promised Tim I’d bring Mia to see him. But I would love to get to know you all properly at some point.” You say apologetically, taking Mia’s hand in your own and bidding the gathered officers a hurried goodbye before heading off in the direction of Tim’s hospital room. As they watch you leave, Nolan and Jackson move to stand by Lucy’s side.
“Tim had a whole secret family and no one knew but Angela?” Jackson asks, glancing over at his training officer who shrugs with a grin.
“It helps to be the one who introduced them,” Angela says proudly, making the rookies exchange a look.
“She’s basically the polar opposite of Tim,” Nolan says, wondering why Angela had thought you and Tim would’ve made a good couple.
“They say opposites attract and I just knew y/n and Tim would work,” Angela says, folding her arms across her chest as the other rookies begin to bombard her with questions.
Meanwhile, you led Mia to Tim’s hospital room, opening the door and encouraging her to enter the room, seeing how she smiled upon seeing her dad.
“Daddy!” She says happily, rushing over to Tim’s bedside as Tim smiles widely.
“Hi, Sweetheart,” Tim says, holding an arm open to encourage Mia to hop up alongside him but you both see her hesitation as you pull up a chair alongside the bedside, settling into it. You exchange a glance with Tim before you realise why it is she was hesitating to join Tim.
“You’re not going to hurt Daddy, Sweetie.” You say softly. You remembered how when Tim got shot and was in the hospital last, Mia had rushed into his hospital room and nearly jumped up alongside him so you had warned Mia to be careful and to not jump on him while he was hurt.
“I’m not hurt, Princess. I promise.” Tim says, smiling softly at your daughter as he extends his arm out once again, and this time Mia carefully climbs up on the bed alongside him and curls into his embrace, resting her head on his chest.
“How long have you got off this time?” You ask lightly as Tim runs a hand up and down Mia’s back.
“At least two weeks,” Tim says, remembering what the doctor had told him just so they could play on the side of caution.
“Oh good, that’s plenty of time for you to reconsider my idea of getting a dog.” You say with a smile, watching as Tim jokingly glares at you while Mia perks up.
“Yes! Get a dog!” She says excitedly, curling up closer to Tim and attempting to give him puppy dog eyes.
“We’ve been over this,” Tim says, looking pointedly at you as you smile innocently.
“Please, Daddy.” Mia pleads, cuddling impossibly closer as Tim rolls his eyes jokingly.
“I will consider it.” Tim concedes, sighing as you and Mia share a high-five. As you settle back in your seat, you reach across and rest your hand atop Tim’s free hand, smiling as you watch him press a gentle kiss atop Mia’s head.
As you watched Tim interacting with Mia, you were filled with overwhelming gratitude that Tim was okay. He was so important to you and Mia and you dreaded the mere thought of him not being around anymore. But he was alive and healthy, and you knew that he would not let anything get in between him and his family.
He’d always make his way home to you.

Actor au! My love 💟
Reader is a camera worker afab for the NSFW parts. Oh yeah NSFW MINORS DNI
Captain Curly 🎉
He met you on the first day of set. You were messing with a camera tripod that wasn't working properly. Muttering swears as you look at the metal contraption.
You were too busy trying to figure out the stupid camera to notice the man looking at you.
As shooting went on there was a day the director wasn't there. The producer stepped up, only issue was the producer was an asshole. It was a student film anyways.
As they shot a scene you realize one of the actors was going too far near the road during a flashback scene.
You automatically shot up behind the camera. Meanwhile the producer was too busy flirting with another person.
"Cut! Cut you dumbasses." You shout, setting down your headphones as you run from behind the camera. "Fucking stop Jim!" You yelled as Jimmy and Daisuke looked at you confused, stopping in their tracks.
"The fuck Y/N!?" The producer shouted once he realized what had happened.
"Are you fucking stupid!?" You yelled, finally snapping at the guy in front of you. "They were way too close to the fucking road you know cars just speed through here. You say as if on cue a car speeds past them.
"Yeah yeah, know your God damn place camera girl." The producer sneered. Curly then walked up.
"Calm down Daniel, she was just looking out for the crew, you obviously weren't." Curly said, defending his coworker.
"Watch it Grant, I can have your ass fired if I wanted to." Daniel said, crossing his arms as if he won.
"I'm sure Vivian would love to hear that you fired her only actor that knows what he's doing. No offense guys" Curly says. Turning towards his costars for a moment.
"none taken" Daisuke says. He took the job out of boredom. Jimmy took the job after you begged him for a week straight. And Swansea took it because Daisuke offered him up.
Curly volunteered for the job because he thought you were cute and wanted to spend more time with you.
Daniel scoffed and walked away. Muttering something about the two of you.
Curly laughed as the other man walked off.
Ever since then the two of you got closer.
After shooting wrapped up he asked you out.
Curly was nervous before your first date.
He took you out to a movie.
You ended up talking through a majority of it, ranting about the different shots and how they did the practical effects.
He loved listening to you the spark you had for film.
One date because two, then three, then before you two knew it he was asking you to move in with him.
Of course you said yes, you two got an apartment your last year of college.

The first time you hooked up it was after the cast and crew party after wrap up.
The two of you were wasted and one thing led to another.
Even drunk he was still so sweet with you. He tasted like whiskey and citrus.
The way his hips moved against yours in a dance of fiery passion.
The morning after you expected him to be gone. But actually you woke up to the smell of coffee.
Curly leaned against the doorway, a mug in his hand as he greeted you. "Morning doll." He said, kissing your forehead.
That was when you realized that he was someone you wanted, no *needed* in your life.
Afterwards sex with him was always sweet.
A service top 100%
One day he needed to blow off steam and of course being the amazing girlfriend you are, you offered to help.
You couldn't walk the next day.
Daisuke🌺
Like I said he picked it up because he was bored.
He saw you fighting with the camera and fell in love.
The way you excitedly ranted about the inner workings of your favorite films.
He asked you out not too long during shooting.
He took you to an arcade.
He did his best to win you one of the crappy stuffed animals from the claw machine.
He spent all his tokens but on the last go he won you a little dog plushie. You still keep it on your bed to this day.
NSFW
A switch leaning towards bottom.
He's not normally submissive but he's inexperienced. So he wants you to be in control so you can feel good.
When he is top though hes a little rough with it. Panting and whining like a dog while he thrusts into you non stop.
Probably has a power play kink (I forgot what it was called) but you're the one that has most of the power.
Let him call you ma'am and he goes all night.
Same with you praising him.
Anya
She was originally in tech with you. She worked on lights until the original actress quit the project due to the producer being an asshole.
The director knew she'd do amazing at the role and set her up with an audition. Of course she knocked it out of the park.
You supported her from behind the scenes.
You were the one to ask her out.
You two went to the park and had a picnic.
Soon you two graduated from college and life went on. You moved in together and got a cat, Anya getting a job as a nurse and you working your way up to a director.
I can't really think of any NSFW ideas for Anya rn if anyone has any idea pls share :)
Jimmy.(He's not a rapist in this AU I don't condone any of his actions as a victim of SA and rape)
You had to convince him to audition.
You were friends since highschool and believe it or not he did theatre.
You saw the way he looked with the spotlight on his face, like it was his only home.
So when you were starting a new project you BEGGED him to audition.
He was hesitant, he hadn't acted in a while so he was a bit rusty.
He walked out of the audition room nervously.
By the time the cast list was out he ran up to you, excitedly holding the paper of acceptance as he hugged you tightly.
You two both carpooled there, sometimes you drove sometimes he drove. You always got coffee before even if y'all were late.
When he asked you out it was at the cast and crew after party.
He took you to an off-Broadway play. He wasn't a fan of musicals. He still has some song in his playlist though.
Afterwards you went on more dates then you two moved in together.
NSFW
He tries to be gentle he truly does.
But when he's in the moment he can't help but slam his hips against yours and bite a little too harshly.
He immediately apologizes after though and give THE BEST aftercare in the whole world.
He 100% whimpers when he's close.
He also goes kinda braindead when he cums. Mumbling stuff like "fuck I love you" or yes over and over again. You live for the desperation in his voice every time he's close.
Anyways guys- lmk how you feel about the actor au? I love it sm because there's little room for angst because it feels like everyone gets a happy ending 😁 also for the producer and the director I used a random name generator y'all can change it if u want <3

My weakness II Mafia!Lando Norris x Reader Ⓢ
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Lando is a man known to be cold, unfeeling, overflowing in strength and composure...except when it comes to you.
WARNINGS: Assault, Blood, inaccurate medical terms, not proofread.
A/N: This is something I posted over on Wattpad a few days ago, thought you guys might want to start seeing some for fluff rather than pure smut ;)
It was a miracle you were walking down the streets on your own right now...well partially. Lando had been obliged to fly over to territory 55 after a business deal had gone wrong with his partner who urgently needed his assistance.
Lando hated leaving you alone even if it was for short periods of time just hating the feeling of not being able to protect you himself. Nevertheless, he reluctantly had to sometimes and he wasn't one to force you to go with him everywhere especially if he knew he would be putting you in more danger around him.
For this specific instance, he had needed to fly for a few days and it had taken a whole lot of begging over the phone for him to let you leave the house to go shopping, a treat for yourself (and a little for him). He only agreed because he had your location on your phone but also as long as you agreed that his best man Max Fewtrell would accompany you.
The day had been wonderful for you, Max wasn't sure how much longer he could stand at another store watching you try on what felt like hundreds of pieces of clothing only for you to walk out with just 1 piece or none at all.
His feet were aching more than they would when he went on a mission and he was about ready to force you back home if it weren't for the stores closing that forced you to finally call it a day.
You were walking to the car, Max a few steps ahead of you as he worked to get all the multiple shopping bags and boxes into the car. His struggle to do so distracted him enough not to notice the other eyes in the empty parking lot.
Max heard you scream but by the time he turned around and drew his gun you were already down on the ground badly beaten, Max could only watch as the men delivered their last few kicks and punches before they scrambled disappearing in the night.
Max attempted taking shots but they were futile as they ran in multiple directions and instead he focused on you instead of running after whoever they were. He saw a note left beside your beaten body.
Max picked you up getting you in the car to quickly drive you to the hospital as you groaned in pain trying to make sense of what had just happened.
"Max don't tell-" You struggled to breathe properly.
"Shh don't hurt yourself." Max was stern, he knew what you were going to say and he also knew he wasn't going to listen.
"Don't tell Lando." You finished feeling as though this wasn't bad enough to have him fly back and panic over you.
Max sees as you're wheeled in, panic filling his face at the amount of blood he can see down your face and body. At the hospital, apart from a few cuts and bruises to the rest of your body it's determined you have a mild fracture to your skull and you required a few stitches to a medium-sized gash to your head, explaining the large amounts of blood.
You fail to recall at what point you'd lost consciousness or been put to sleep as you woke up to see Max on the couch next to you, his leg jittering nervously, his phone in one hand and his head in the other hand.
"Max, are you okay?" You ask him, his head popping up and his eyes meeting yours, a wave of relief flooding them.
"NURSE!" Max screams out.
"Ouch." You grab your head as Max's loudness makes your head pound.
"Sorry." He gritted his teeth guiltily. "You get attacked and you ask me if I'm okay?" Max stifles a laugh.
You shrug. "Are you?" You ask again.
"I'm fine...lucky for me he's decided to take his anger out on the poor nurses and doctors." He shakes his head.
"He? Max I-" A nurse comes in interrupting you, she explains everything to you, and checks your vitals before finally walking outside.
You're about to engage in conversation with Max again when Lando runs into the room.
"Y/n?!" He calls out, desperation and panic audible in his voice.
"You called him?! I told you not to." You turned to Max.
"He'd kill me if I hadn't." He argued back.
"He's right...if he wasn't like family he'd be dead already." Lando replied so nonchalantly it made a shiver run through your body. Lando walked towards you, a frown on his face as he looked at the bandage around your head.
"Baby it wasn't his-" you were gonna speak.
"Who did this?" He looked at Max, you could see the ridiculous amount of anger in his eyes, his lips in a slight pout as he tried to keep it together and his breath incredibly heavy as if he'd just ran a marathon.
"Lan-" you tried calling him again.
"WHO?!!" He repeated himself to Max.
"They left this." Max handed him the note that was left beside you.
You saw Lando's eyes darken as he read the words. "Gather the men. Call 3, 16, 33, and 81. I want them dead." He instructed Max.
"Yes." Max didn't argue as he left the room, his phone already dialing.
"Lando-" another failed attempt.
"Did you see their faces?" He turned back to you.
"LANDO!" You raised your voice finally getting him to stop.
You grabbed your head, the volume and sudden jerk of your neck making it soar.
"Darling" Lando panicked when he saw your grabbing your head. "I'll call the nurse-"
You cupped his cheek before he could turn back around. You made him look at you. "Baby I'm okay." You spoke softly.
Lando let out a shaky breath he didn't realize he was holding, his shoulders visibly relaxing. It appeared that his efforts to keep it together were expiring.
His breathing started becoming irregular as he tried his best not to break down in front of you. He tried to quietly grasp for air that he didn't seem to be able to find.
"Lando take a deep breath." Your hands moved to his once you realized he was shaking, you gave them a tight squeeze.
"I can't..." he tried to suck in air. "I can't breathe" you could see him starting to panic.
"Lando breathe with me, baby." I grabbed one of his hands placing it on my chest, my hand tightly over his as I placed the other on his own chest. "Breath in."
He did as I told him.
"Breathe out." His breaths began matching mine.
We repeated this a few times.
"You're okay baby...I'm okay." Once I saw him calm enough I pulled his face closer to mine leaning his forehead against mine. "I'm okay."
He closed the space kissing you softly.
"This is my worst nightmare-" a few tears escaped his eyes.
"I know baby...I know..." I pulled him into a much-needed hug from both of us. His embrace was tight against me but still not as tight as it normally would be, like he was afraid to break me.
"I can't..." his voice broke. "I can't lose you." He whispered to you.
This time you placed a kiss on his lips. "You're not going to. I'm okay I promise."
"I won't let them touch you ever again," Lando promised as he rubbed your cheek with his thumb lovingly.
"I know." You didn't doubt him one bit.

Jealous! Dick Grayson x Reader
Not real warnings other than a bit of angst and a ton of unfaithfulness😋
Tumblr media
It was some rainy thursday when you met him.
You were trying to balance two paper coffee cups and your phone while wrestling your umbrella into submission when someone cought it just before the wind did. A smooth voice asked, “Need a hand?” You look up—and there he was.
Dick Grayson.
Letting him help was probably the worst decision of your life.
He was clothed a Gotham University hoodie and sweats, the kind of outfit that shouldn’t look good on anyone and somehow looked sculpted on him. His entire presence was almost like that of a Greek statue. He flashed you a smile, all effortless charm and dimpled mischief, and you were momentarily stunned silent.
“Thanks,” you managed, handing him one of the coffee cups in silent thanks while you got your umbrella under control. Stupid rain. You probably wouldn't have even met if it weren't for the crappy Gotham weather.
“No problem. You looked like you were about to enter mortal combat with that thing.”
You laughed- it was instinctive, disarming. You could feel yourself flushing a little as you took the cup back. He didn't walk away, though. Instead, he stood beside you for a moment, hands tucked into his hoodie pocket, glancing up at the stormy sky like it told a joke only he heard.
“Name’s Dick,” he mentioned finally, offering his hand as his eyes met yours again.
You took it. Rooky move. “I know,” you said. “I’ve seen you on the news. And—well—everywhere.”
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Guilty. You?”
You told him your name, and you were honestly surprised by the way he repeater it, like he was rolling it over in his mouth to make sure it fit. You didn't expect him to remember it.
He did.
You didn't date immediately. At first, it was chance meetings. He showed up at your usual coffee spot. He passed by your bookstore window and waves. Sometimes he'd leave sticky notes on your bike seat—doodles, silly jokes, an occasional riddle. Always signed, “Grayson.”
By the time he asked you out, it felt inevitable.
Your first date was in a quiet rooftop garden above a city building you didn’t even know existed. He brought you takeout—real takeout, greasy Chinese boxes and everything—and you sat on the ledge watching the traffic below, listening to him tell stories you could barely believe were true. You didn't talk about his past or anything heavier than favorite childhood cartoons and worst first dates.
You thought, maybe, he was exactly what you needed. Maybe he saw you as someone real, not a headline or a rebound.
Maybe.
Three weeks in, you woke up to him making breakfast in your kitchen shirtless, humming something familiar. You watched him for a moment—he looks happy. You felt safe. Which, for the record, was a good sign since it was his first time staying the night. You don't think any of your past relationships started off so well, and you certaintly weren't treated breakfast in bed before Dick.
But then came the gala.
You were his date, of course. He introduced you to Bruce, to Tim, to Lucius. All you could do was try your best not to gape at the glittering crowd. Everything felt like a dream, like you were floating on clouds with Dick's arm looped aroynd yours—until she walked in.
She was wearing a red dress that made her look like she stepped off the cover of a high-fashion espionage novel. Her hair was swept to the side in effortless curls, and when her eyes meet Dick’s across the room, you could something in your chest tighten, like the strings of a sharp being tuned just a tad too much. Like the music they played was bound to be off.
You expected her to stay across the room.
You hoped.
She didn't.
“Dick,” she greeted with a voice that was both warm and pointed, her pupils dialating just that slight bit as their eyes met. Then her eyes flicked to you. “And you are?”
You told her your name, smiled, extended a hand. She shook it, but it felt more like a test than a greeting, like she was waiting for it to be wrong. Her hand lingered on Dick’s arm when she laughed at his dumb attempts to start a conversation between the three of you, and your blood simmered a degree hotter every time she touched him.
Everything just felt... Off. Like there was a bit more to their past than he was willing to tell you.
Later that night, in the car, it just felt too heavy. The air was too thick, too hot, and making it feep like your chest was being pressed in against your lungs and heart. “She gets too touchy for my liking.”
It was silent before- not comfortable, but certainly not the worst thing you've experienced with a guy.
Dick glanced at you and laughed—laughed. “Babs? That’s just how she is.”
“Yeah. With you.”
He looked at you for a moment, his eyes filled with a plea you'd realize later to be complete bullshit before they flickered back to the city streets. “There’s nothing going on between us. Trust me.”
You tried. God, you tried.
You started noticing patterns after that.
The way Dick texts you less when she’s in town. The way he talks about her in the past tense but lights up in the present. The times he cancels your plans with vague excuses that don’t quite add up.
Then comes the night you find the photo.
It’s not even hidden—just tagged on some socialite’s Instagram. Barbara in Dick’s lap, laughing, champagne in hand. His face close to hers. Intimate. Intertwined. Far more emotional than anything he's given you before.
"I was under the impression we were exclusive."
It's a pety text, you know, but there's not much else to do while curled up on your couch near tears over a stupid social media post. Some part of you just hoped it was old, just something that resurfaced once the public started seeing you together just to rile you both up.
But then you saw the chain you got for his birthday dangling from around his neck, pressed right against her cleavage.
He doesn't even respond until nearly 20 minutes later. "Can I come over?"
You almost didn't respond. Hell, you almost didn't see the message from "Birdy Boy💙" through the salty liquid gathering in your tear ducts.
But you did. "Make it quick."
It took him nearly an hour to make it to your apartment.
He blames it on traffic.
You know what he was doing. You know exactly what kind of game he's playing. But deep down, some shriveled part of you tries to believe him.
He doesn’t lie, not exactly. He says he didn’t mean to hurt you. That things with Barbara have always been complicated. That it wasn’t supposed to go this far.
“What wasn’t?” you ask, arms crossed over your chest as you stand in the living room of your apartment. Your throat is raw, and the room is dim. Typically, there would be a much more intimate reason for both of those situations.
He’s silent for a long time, the only sounds coming out of him being his soft breaths. Its rhythmatic, the rise and fall of his chest. It's nearly the same as all the times you've watched it while he slept. “I thought… maybe if she saw me happy, she’d move on. Or maybe—maybe she’d realize she wanted me again.”
He might as well have just taken out your hesrt right there, squeezed it, thrown it to the ground, spat on it, then stomoed it to pieces right there. Your chest is too tight to do anything, your heart pressing against your bones as your ears ring and vision gets slightly misty with tears that just won't fall.
You don’t speak. You can’t.
“So what was I?” you ask finally, voice trembling. You hate that sound. It feels weak, vulnerable... Like he can see right through the calm face you're trying so desperately to keep on. “Your bait? Your mirror?”
He doesn’t answer with anything other than just a short exhale that brings shudders through your spine.
You didn’t need him to. "Get out."
And, for a moment, you catch a glimpse of hesitation in his beautiful blue eyes, a glimpse of something real. But as soon as your eyes meet, he's turning around to leave. As his feet make silent steps toward your apartment door, he slips something out of his pocket and onto your table- the silver chain you got for his birthday.
You don't wait for the door to be fully closed to break down, the sobs racking your body before you even realize they're coming. It's subconscious, the way you still practically chase him like a kicked puppy that just can't get enough until your knees finally give out in front of the door.
You know he's still on the other side, probably mirroring your position sat on the ground leaned against it. You can hear a sharp, shuddering inhale from him just like he can hear your sobs.
You want to open the door. But you don't. Neither of you do.
You didn’t sleep that night.
After Dick left—after the weight of everything he didn’t say sinks into your skin—you sit on the couch, staring into the empty corner where he usually leaves his jacket. The silence in the room presses in like a second heartbeat. You think about every smile, every laugh, every night you thought he looked at you like you were irreplaceable.
He had looked through you the whole time.
You don’t cry again until morning.
And when you do, it’s not soft. It’s gut-deep, shaking, angry crying. It’s the kind of heartbreak you didn’t expect, not this soon, not from someone who had held your hand like it meant something.
He texts once, the next day.
“I’m sorry. You deserve better than what I gave you.”
You stare at the words. You reread them. You can hear his voice saying them in your head. But you don’t respond. Because you do deserve better. You just wish you hadn’t had to figure that out this way.
A week later, the headlines break:
Billionaire's Sonand Commissioner's Daughter Back Together Again! Gotham’s Golden Couple Reunited?
You don’t even click the article.
But the image—her arms wrapped around his neck, his forehead resting against hers—it’s enough.
He never officially ended things with you. But the message is clear. So you pack up the last sweatshirt he left at your place, the book he lent you, the coffee mug he joked was his “claim to your kitchen.” You put it all in a box. You set it outside your door. You stare at it for much longer than you'd ever like yo admit, even two yourself.
You send one message. "Come get your things. That’s the last favor I’ll do for you."
You don’t wait to see if he replies. His number is blocked as soon as the message goes through.
You didn't expect to meet anyone for a long time. You weren't even looking.
But then there was someone.
He's quieter than Dick, a little awkward, but honest in a way that feels grounding. He listens. He asks questions. He doesn't flinch when you mention past wounds, and he never makes you feel like you’re a stand-in for someone else.
With him, things are simple. Peaceful. You don’t lie awake wondering if you’re being compared to a ghost.
When he touches you, it’s tender.
When he kisses you, it’s now.
Dick finds out in the most predictable way: he sees you at a café, holding his hand across the table, laughing.
You don’t even notice him at first. But he notices you, and his heart is practically crushed under a ton of concrete.
You see him that night, waiting by your building’s entrance. Leaning against the wall, the hood of his favorite blue jacket up, jaw tight. You stop walking when you see him.
“What are you doing here, Dick?”
His voice is quieter than you expected, like there's too much tension in the air for him to even utter the words he's thought of a thousand times over since the last time you both spoke. “I wanted to talk.”
You cross your arms, letting out a soft scoff. You're not about to fall for his bullshit again “We don’t really talk anymore, remember?”
He flinches as if he's actually been hurt by your words, but presses on without hesitation. “Is he your boyfriend?”
You blink, completely dumbfounded by the sudden question. Part of you is angry he knows so much about your private life. Another part of you almost wishes he'd do something about what he knows. “Wow. That’s what this is about? You’re keeping tabs on me now?”
“I just—” He drags a hand through his hair, the strands still smooth and black against his skin before letting out a curt sigh. “It’s weird. Seeing you with someone else.”
You step closer, enough for him to hear the edge in your voice. “You’re with Barbara.”
He hesitates, truly hesitates, for the first time since you met. “Yeah. But—”
“No.” Your voice cracks like ice, sending shivers right down Dick's spine. “You don’t get to ‘but’ me, Dick. You made your choice. I wasn’t even your first one.”
His gaze drops, blue eyes meeting the pavement faster than a cannon to the ground.
“I loved you,” your tone is caving, and you feel it down to your bones. Your knees are almost ready to give out on you like the night he left. “I gave you the best parts of me. And you used me to win someone else.”
“That’s not fair—”
“It’s exactly fair,” you snap, raising your voice far more than you ever have at Dick before. “And now that I’m finally happy—actually happy—you think you can just show up and claim a place in my life again?”
“I made a mistake,” he says, shoulders shrugging as if the admission was something so obvious to himself. “A huge one. I thought I needed her back, but what I needed was you. You grounded me. You made me feel real again.”
You stare at him for a long moment. His face is open. Honest. And for a heartbeat, you remember everything good between you.
But then you remember how quickly he gave it away. How quick he was to use your kindness and love to get Barbara back.
“You don’t get to realize that now,” you whisper, the sound nearly carried away by the ambiance of Gotham City around your apartment building. “Not when I’ve already picked up the pieces.”
He reaches for your hand, but you step back to put in the code to your apartment, which, by the way, has certainly changed since the last time you two spoke.
“Goodbye, Dick.”

Virgin Boss
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N was a young woman with a penchant for the unpredictable. Her bright (Y/H/C) hair fell in loose waves down her back, framing a face that was equal parts mischief and innocence. She had a way of lighting up a room with her infectious laugh and the sparkle in her(Y/E/C) eyes. Tonight was no different. The neon lights of the bustling city outside the bar were reflected in her eyes as she threw her head back, letting out a giggle that was a bit too loud for her own ears. Her friends had left hours ago, unable to keep up with her insatiable appetite for fun. But Y/N was just getting started.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket, interrupting her latest dance move. She fished it out, squinting at the screen. It was a message from her boss, Mr. Bang. The sight of his name sent a strange thrill through her. He was known for being a cold, demanding CEO, but tonight, she felt invincible. The whiskey in her system had loosened her tongue and her inhibitions. With a devilish grin, she typed out a reply that would normally make her cringe. "You're such a virgin who needs to get laid," she sent, and hit send without a second thought. Her giggle turned into a cackle as she chugged the last of her drink and slammed the glass on the counter.
The next morning, she woke up with a pounding headache and a mouth that tasted like a frat house floor. The memories of the previous night were hazy at best. She stumbled into work, trying to piece together the events of the night before. It was only when she walked into the office that she remembered her text to Mr. Bang. Panic set in, her cheeks flushing a deep shade of red. She hoped he wouldn't bring it up.
But of course, he did. His office door was open, and she saw him leaning back in his chair, scrolling through his phone. His eyes flicked up to meet hers, a smirk playing on his lips. He beckoned her over, and she felt the weight of the world pressing down on her shoulders. "Good morning, Y/N. Did you enjoy your… enlightening evening?" he asked, his tone laced with amusement. She gulped, her mind racing to come up with an excuse. But before she could say anything, he handed her a glass of water and some painkillers. "You look like you could use these," he said, his eyes scanning her body, taking in the tightness of her skirt and the way her blouse clung to her in all the wrong places.
Her hangover fog lifted slightly as she took the offered pills, her cheeks still on fire. "Thank you, Mr. Bang," she murmured, trying to compose herself. He leaned back, his fingers steepled under his chin. "You know, I've been thinking," he began, his voice dropping to a purr, "about what you said last night." Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead. "What I need," he continued, "is someone to show me the ropes."
He stood up, and she watched in horror as he stalked towards her, the power dynamics in the room shifting palpably. His hands landed firmly on the chair arms, caging her in, and she could feel the heat of his body mere inches from hers. He leaned down, and she could see the hunger in his eyes as they traveled from her eyes to her lips. The smell of his cologne was intoxicating, mingling with the faint scent of his desire. "If I'm such a big virgin," he whispered, his breath hot on her neck, "why don't you do something about it?"
Her heart was racing now, a mix of fear and excitement sending waves of heat through her body. She didn't know what she'd gotten herself into, but she couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through her at his words. Her eyes darted to his, and she saw the challenge in them. He was calling her bluff, and she wasn't sure if she was ready to play this dangerous game. But something inside her, something primal and wild, urged her to accept it.
He stepped back and locked the door, the click echoing through the now silent room. His movements were deliberate, each step calculated to build the tension. As he approached the window, she watched him, her breathing shallow and rapid. He drew the blinds one by one, shrouding them in darkness. The only light now was the faint sunlight, the city outside, casting little cracks of sun across the floor. When he turned to face her again, she could see the outline of his muscular frame, the contours of his face highlighted by the dim light.
"Mr. Bang," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "I didn't mean—"
"Oh, but I think you did," he cut her off, his smirk deepening. He stepped closer, his hand reaching out to trace the curve of her jaw, his touch sending electric currents down her spine. "Or are you just playing coy with me?"
Y/N's eyes widened, and she swallowed hard, trying to form words that wouldn't betray the sudden ache between her legs. The way he was looking at her, like she was the only thing that mattered in the world, was intoxicating. His fingers slid down to her neck, and she could feel the pulse racing there. "Mr. Bang," she began again, her voice barely a whisper.
He didn't let her finish. With a feral growl, he leaned in closer, his breath hot against her ear. "Shh, princess," he murmured, his hand tightening around her mouth. "You're going to shut up and take it like a good girl." His words sent a thrill through her, and she felt a gush of wetness between her thighs. Before she could process what was happening, he crouched down and ripped her shirt open, the buttons flying everywhere.
Her breasts were now exposed, the white lace of her bra the only barrier between her and his hungry gaze. He took a moment to appreciate the sight, licking his lips before he tore the bra off in one swift motion. The cool air hit her hardened nipples, making her gasp. He took one in his mouth, sucking hard and leaving a red mark, claiming her as his. The sensation was so intense that she could feel it all the way to her core. The sound of her own moan was muffled by his hand, which was now pressing against her mouth.
Mr. Bang stood up abruptly, his towering presence making her feel even more vulnerable. "Now, stand up," he ordered, his voice a low growl that sent shivers down her spine. Y/N complied, her legs wobbly from the combination of fear and arousal. He grabbed her arms, his grip firm and unyielding, and pushed her down onto his desk. The cold glass sent a jolt of sensation through her body, making her wetness even more pronounced.
Her heart raced as he unzipped her skirt with a deliberate slowness that made her squirm. She watched the fabric slide down her legs, pooling at her ankles, leaving her in just her white lacy thong. He took in the sight of her barely concealed pussy, his eyes dark with lust. His hand reached out and traced the line of the thong, his fingertips grazing her wetness. The anticipation was unbearable, her breath hitching in her chest. "You think I'm a virgin?" he whispered, his voice thick with challenge. "I'll show you just how much of a virgin I really am."
With a swift motion, he yanked her hands behind her back, looping his necktie around her wrists and binding them together tightly. The restriction sent a jolt of excitement through her body, her breasts pushing up against the desk as she tried to get comfortable. The sound of his belt buckle unclasping and the metallic clink as it hit the floor made her heart skip a beat. He stepped closer, his crotch now mere inches from her face. "Look what you've done to me," he said, his voice strained with need.
In the reflection of the mirror that lay in the corner, she caught a glimpse of his massive erection straining against his tailored trousers. The realization of its size hit her like a punch to the gut. "Mr. Bang," she murmured again, her voice quivering with a mix of fear and desire. He leaned down, his smirk widening as he heard the doubt in her voice. "Don't worry, princess," he whispered. "I'll make sure it fits."
With a swift yank, he pulled her panties aside, and before she could protest, his cock was pressing against her slick entrance. The head of his cock nudged at her, and she gasped at the intrusion, her eyes wide with shock. "Take it," he demanded, his voice a low growl. "Take it like the good girl you are."
With one swift thrust, he was inside her, filling her up completely. The pain was intense, a stark contrast to the pleasure that had been building inside her. She screamed, the sound muffled by his sock as he stuffed it into her mouth, his hand wrapping around her hair to hold her head in place. Her eyes watered, but she bit down on the fabric to keep from making too much noise. Her body was his now, and she knew she had to submit to his every whim.
He slapped her ass, the sound echoing through the room as he whispered, "Naughty girl, I told you to shut the fuck up." His grip on her hair tightened, and she felt the sting of his slap, the heat spreading across her skin. The pain was a strange mix of punishment and pleasure, making her cunt clench around him. She never knew she had a kinky side, but here she was, her body responding to Mr. Bang's dominance like it was made for this.
Her legs felt like jelly, trembling with each deep thrust he gave her. The pressure building inside her was unbearable, and she was sure she was going to come any second. His other hand found her clit, and he began to rub it with a fierce intensity that sent waves of pleasure crashing over her. The sensation was too much, a symphony of pain and ecstasy that she didn't know she could handle. But she was going to try, for him.
Suddenly, she felt a release, her body convulsing as she squirted all over his cock. The wetness was a stark contrast to the dryness of the room, the sound of her juices hitting the floor echoing through the silence. He pulled out with a grunt, his cock glistening with her arousal. He took a moment to admire the sight of her dripping onto the floor, the puddle growing larger with each passing second. "I'm not finished with you yet, bitch," he growled, his voice thick with lust.
Without warning, he slammed back into her, the sensation of his thick member filling her up making her eyes roll back in her head. She couldn't believe how much she enjoyed this, the feeling of being used by her boss, the man she had always feared and desired. His thrusts grew harder, faster, more punishing. She could feel every vein, every ridge of him, as he claimed her in a way no one else ever had. The pain was intense, but it only served to heighten her pleasure.
Her moans grew weaker, muffled by the fabric in her mouth, as she felt his grip tighten on her hair. His grunts grew louder in her ear, his breathing more ragged. She knew he was close, and the thought of his release made her clench around him, eager to feel his hot cum fill her up. Her legs were trembling uncontrollably, and she could feel the desk biting into her skin, but she didn't care. The only thing that mattered was the man fucking her into oblivion.
With one final, powerful thrust, she felt him spasm inside her, his cock pulsing as he emptied himself into her quivering cunt. The warm, salty liquid filled her, and she moaned in pleasure as she felt the heat of his seed against her walls. He held himself deep within her for a moment, his breathing slowing before he pulled out with a wet sound. The feeling of emptiness was almost painful, but she knew it was only temporary.
Y/N lay there, gasping for air, her body trembling with the aftershocks of her orgasm. Tears streamed down her cheeks, not from pain but from the intensity of the experience. The room was still, the only sounds their heavy breaths and the rustling of their clothes. The sock in her mouth was wet with her saliva, and she felt a mix of relief and disappointment when he pulled it out.
Mr. Bang leaned back, his chest heaving, and she could see the satisfaction in his eyes as he looked at her. "Don't ever test my abilities again," he murmured, his voice still filled with the raw power that had just claimed her. He let go of her hair, and she felt her head fall heavily onto the desk. She didn't have the strength to hold it up anymore, her body feeling like it had been wrung out and then filled with something entirely new.
For a few moments, she just lay there, her body pulsing with the aftermath of what had just transpired. The coldness of the desk against her skin was a stark contrast to the warmth that still lingered between her legs. She could feel the stickiness of their combined juices, and the scent of sex hung heavily in the air. It was a scent that was both alien and thrillingly intimate, and she felt a shiver run down her spine.
Mr. Bang stepped back, his eyes never leaving hers. He bent down, his hands gently but firmly grabbing her hips and turning her over. She gasped at the sudden movement, her legs still unsteady from the intensity of her climax. He knelt down, his hands running over her bare skin as he wiped her clean with a warm cloth. The sensation was almost too much to bear, her pussy feeling overly sensitive. She winced at the slight pain but couldn't deny the way his tender ministrations sent a new wave of desire through her body.
Once he was satisfied, he stood up and zipped her skirt back up, the sound seeming overly loud in the quiet office. He handed her a clean shirt, his smirk never fading. "Wear this," he said, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine. She took it, her eyes still glazed over with lust. She hadn't realized just how much she'd enjoyed the encounter until now.
As she pulled on the shirt, Mr. Bang took a moment to appreciate the view of her half-dressed form. The sight of her bare, reddened skin, the way her chest heaved with each breath, was enough to make him want to take her again. But he knew better than to push his luck. For now. He watched her with a hunger in his eyes that she couldn't miss, and she felt a thrill knowing she had that power over him.
When she had herself covered, Mr. Bang stepped closer, his hand wrapping around her waist. He pulled her into him, his grip firm but gentle, and leaned down to kiss her deeply. His tongue sought hers, his teeth grazing her bottom lip in a possessive bite that sent a shiver through her. She moaned into his mouth, unable to resist the pull of his dominance. He tasted of mint and power, a heady combination that made her knees weak.
"Same time next week," he murmured against her lips, the promise in his eyes unmistakable. She nodded, her heart racing as she felt his smirk press into her cheek. This was a game she hadn't expected to play, but now that she had tasted the thrill of it, she was hooked. He released her, his hand lingering for a moment before dropping away.
Y/N stumbled out of Mr. Bang's office, her legs still wobbly from the intense encounter. The cold slap to her ass echoed down the hallway, and she couldn't help but let out a cheeky yelp. The sound of his deep, satisfied chuckle followed her out, sending another wave of heat through her body. She glanced back at him over her shoulder, his silhouette framed by the light from his desk lamp, and she felt a strange sense of pride. He had claimed her, marked her, and she had liked it.

“I hate having to share you.”
Joe had been sitting on the couch and pouting for close to an hour as he looked over at you and baby uno cuddled up on the floor together as you were reading a book to him. He also noticed that his eyes were getting heavy indicating that it would soon be time for his nap.
He honestly couldn't wait because as much as he loved having him here and watching him, he hadn't had you to himself all week since both of you had been so busy. So when he woke up, he was excited to spend the day with you all to come downstairs to see you holding his nephew and his mood instantly turned sour.
Because of this, he immediately sent a text to Ja'Marr
Joe- Come get your kid so I can get laid 😫
Uno- What the hell!?
Joe- He's cockblocking me right now and he has stolen my wife's attention
Uno- Take it up with your wife, she begged to take him and wouldn’t give up until I said yes
Joe- Idk how much I believe that
Uno- Either way I'll get him tomorrow
Joe- TOMORROW!? What the hell is wrong with later today?
Uno- I have a date. Have fun Uncle Joey. Bye!
Joe- 😒
He was taken out of his thoughts when you came and sat in his lap. Startling him, he looked at you and then was looking around for his nephew.
“Where’s baby uno?”
“Upstairs sleeping. You okay? You looked like you were thinking about something.”
“I'm fine.” He mumbled as you wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned down to kiss him which he happily accepted and kissed you back.
“Are you sure? You've been pouting all morning so don't think I haven't noticed.”
Letting out a sigh, he finally confessed.
“I hate having to share you.”Joe mumbled and you let out a small laugh, leading him to make a face at you.
“Joey… Are you jealous of a two year old?” You asked not being able to keep it in any longer.
“No… yes… maybe.”
“You are too cute for your own good.” You told him as you got more comfortable and ran a hand through his hair.
“I literally haven't seen you this entire week. Can you blame me for missing my wife?” Joe asked as he kissed the tip of your nose.
“No I can't blame you, I've missed you all week too.”
“But yet you volunteered to watch our nephew.”
“To let Ja'Marr go on his date and besides, it's only for one night. And we want to get as much practice in as we can before having our own, right?”
“I guess, but making the baby is the fun part, I hear.”
“Hmm, I think I've heard that once or twice before.”
“But…. He's sleeping so…” Joe started to say as he trailed off and his right hand started to make its way underneath your shirt.
“You mean to tell me that you absolutely cannot wait under any circumstances?” You asked and he replied by shaking his head no.
“As soon as I saw that he was here, I told your twin to come and get his kid so that I could get laid.” He confessed, making you laugh once more.
“Why am I not surprised? But if we do, we have to be really quiet because the last thing I want to deal with is a grumpy cranky baby. If that's the case, you have to watch him for the rest of the day.”
“Why are you telling me that when you're the main one who has a volume control problem with her voice? Especially when I suck on your clit.” Joe asked as he kissed the shell of your ear and started to make his way down your neck.
“I see you don't have a smart ass comeback for me.” He added as both hands reached up behind you to undo your bra.
“Shut up before I change my mind and you know that I'm never going to let you live this down, right?”
“Maybe but, I got what I wanted in the end so I call this a win.” Joe told you as he was trying to get your shirt above your head.

No pressure ofc 🥰
Hiii! :D
I've got this😈
YOU are my everything
YOU masterlist
Tumblr media
Yandere!Joe Goldberg x fem!reader
Cw/triggers: Joe Goldberg is his own warning, nsfw, kidnapping, captive reader, smut, p in v sex, impression of stalking, Stockholm syndrome.
There you are, so innocent, walking home and giving me the pleasure to watch you while you do it.
Ever since Joe bumped into you at some random store he became infatuated with you. Your eyes, lips, how friendly you were to him, everything!
I don't even know if I was lucky enough to stumble upon you or if you are lucky that it was me. But I'd like to think both.
Joe adjusted his cap and moved to stand at a tree opposite from your window where he could get a look inside just nicely.
He has broken into many homes by now and yours were no different, so he watched the place carefully. Joe returned later when it was rather late and he figured out you must have been asleep already.
Joe was careful and mindful, moving slowly before efficiently sedating you and gently carrying you out to Mooney's without raising suspicion.
After you've been placed into the cage and securily locked up Joe walked back upstairs to get some things done.
It was a few minutes later when you woke up drowsily and confused. Immediately you felt lightheadedness come over you and your head ached a bit. You looked around, feeling panic rise up as you realized you were in a cage. You stood up slowly, trying the door but it wad locked. Screaming wasn't smart because your kidnapper might hear you and instead you kicked the strong glas but it held strong.
"What sick asshole puts people inside cages like animals?" You thought to yourself.
Then a key getting inserted into a lock could be heard before the lights have been turned on and slow steps descented to the room you are in.
The person came into view, with a bag in his hand and you looked puzzled while he just looked back at you with a small but persistent smile.
"I brought you something." He started, moving closer to the small movable plate next to the door and placed the bag on for you to take.
"Who the fuck are you?" You ask.
Joe stepped back while you eyed the bag with suspicion. "Don't you remember me? I was the guy you bumped into couple days ago. I'm Joe."
Joe. You remember him, he helped you with the groceries which had falled on the ground and apologized sincerely. He seemed kind.
You frowned. "And why the hell did you lock me into this?"
He moved closer once more. "Because I felt something between us, don't you too?"
You shook your head. "No! You're just a guy I bumped into, a stranger!"
Joe's gaze darkened. "Just a stranger? A stranger surely wouldn't do all the things I would do for you."
You let out a half nervous half frustrated laugh. "Are you serious?"
Fuck, you're so hot when you're angry.
"Yes." He nodded. "There is nothing I wouldn't do for you. For us." Then be gestured to the bag he gave you. "There's a sandwich, water and some painkillers."
"Why am I here?" You ask.
Joe simply smiled. "Because I love you. I would do anything for you."
"You should think about us." Were his last words before he made his way back upstairs.
How the hell did that happen? What did you do that this Joe is so in love with you? You carefully opened the bag and grabbed the bottle of water for some freshness.
You tried getting some rest on the makeshift bed but it wad hard with all the things going on but eventually you fell asleep. The next day you woke up to the surprise of Joe sitting outside the cage, watching you sleep.
"Were you watching me sleep?"
Oh yes
Joe slowly stood up. "Yes," he moved closer now standing infront of the door, "did you think about us?"
You frowned at him. "No, I-..." you didn't finish the sentance and looked down on the ground.
"Think about all the ways your life will be so much easier with me in it." Joe started softly. "All the ways I would love you, spoil you or care for you." Then he placed his palm flat on the glas, seemingly waiting for your hand to do the same. "Please." He pleaded quietly.
Your emotions are going nuts inside you, frustration, fear and even pity?
You slowly walked towards him and placed his hand right where his was. Joe's gaze was fixed on yours.
"Will you let me love you?"
Something inside you couldn't bring it on to say no, something made you want to say yes, be loved by the man who brought you here.
"Yes." You whispered.
As soon as Joe heard you he reached into his pocket, getting the key out and opened the door. With every step inside, you took one back, unsure what will happen now until your back met with the glas behind you and he stood right infront of you.
Joe placed a hand beside your head. "Don't be scared." Then he moved closer, nearly pressing his body against yours and leaned in. You didn't pull away, instead when his lips met yours you leaned into his touch, his other hand moved to your hip as he kissed you.
You felt him grind against you, the outline of his hard cock met your core, making wetness pool inside your panties.
When you pressed yourself against him, Joe quickly moved to undress you and helped you lay down on the cool floor.
"Are you ready?" He whispered huskily.
At your nod, Joe spared no time in pulling your panties off and fishing his hard cock out of his boxers. He positioned himself between your legs and brought his cock up to your wet pussy.
"Tell me you're mine." He demanded softly, pressing the tip of his cock inside you making you gasp.
"I-I'm yours.." You gasped when he pushed deeper, slowly until he bottomed out.
Joe set a slow pace, he felt you getting wetter with each thrust and he couldn't help but groan. "Fuck."
Your head fell back as you arched into him, his thrusts getting harder.
"Do you belong to me?" He asked suddenly and you felt his cock hitting you just right, causing you to become cockdrunk. You could only moan in response but Joe leaned in and asked again, "Do you. Belong to me?"
"Yes, yes!" You mewled, wrapping your legs around him, feeling your peak getting closer and closer.
"That's my good, perfect girl." Joe cooed, pounding into you faster, feeling his orgasm approach aswell.
"Joe I'm about to cum!" You warned breathlessly. Joe looked st you with a small grin, "Then cum for me as I cum for you."
And just like that, your pussy clenched around Joe's invading cock and gushed your juices all over him.
"That's my girl." Joe groaned, thrusting into you one last time with a loud groan before spilling his hot cum into you.
Joe collapsed onto you, breathless and pulled out and rolling off beside you. He turned to look at you lovingly, and brushed a bead of sweat off your brow.
"Will you let me love you?"
