i think id hate him. if we're talking future, alternate timeline where the fault didnt happen & everyone gets to grow old Taylor, a Taylor that would not be influenced by any of what he went through on the faulted timeline, he would age to be suuuuch a frustrating prick i bet he'd have a stupid short haircut and hed work out too much and be too muscular to ever look like hes capable of comfort at all. hed be so obsessed with his masculinity but he'd also try really hard to make sure he didnt come across that way. spend so much time thinking about how he presents himself that he doesnt actually bother to live or have fun with anything.

Ok I need to vent about this nonsense, because I feel like it got a bit lost in the Supercorp of it all, and y'all, what the fuck was this:

First off, am I crazy or is that objectively not what happened? She literally did save her sister as herself. She saw that Alex's plane was crashing on the news, immediately ran out into an alley and then leapt into the fucking sky to save her. THEN after getting chewed out by Alex for potentially endangering herself by exposing herself as an alien she came out to Winn the next day and he made her a suit, and then Cat named her Supergirl. There was even that whole thing in season 3 where Cult Leader Chad Lowe knew who she was because he was on the plane, which she didn't save as Supergirl, but rather as Kara. Hello? Is it too much to ask for the writers to watch the pilot episode of their own goddamn show before referencing it in their series finale?

And pedantry aside, why are we even back here? How many fucking times have we gone over (and over and over and over and oooovvvveeeerrrr) why secret identities are necessary for them to do what they do and be a symbol and protect the people they love. The 100th episode, when James came out as Guardian, when Marsdin got outed, the DEO hunt for Supergirl and Alex getting fucking memory wiped to keep her identity secret, Every Time she agonized over lying to Lena and then all throughout the Lena fallout. If Kara needs to reveal her secret identity to the world to feel like she can live a whole, authentic life good on her, you do you, but to frame it as this personal failing, this thing that separates her from all the whole, integrated people in her life living their best full, authentic lives... like, who the fuck are you even talking about? Alex aka Sentinel and Kelly aka Guardian whose wedding you're currently at? Clark? Nia? Brainy? Andrea? Just about every other important person in Kara's life and also oh, ya know, every other fucking superhero in the Arrowverse? 😩

Seriously though, this is a dumb, bullshit message. If you can live as a fully open, honest, authentic person in every moment of your life, good for you, that's impressive, and also congratulations on your privilege! Because identity is complicated, y'all, especially for marginalized people, and your truth is yours to live however you want. No one else is entitled to it, and guess what?
