I know you dont talk much about ships or romantic relationships, but about utmv is there a ships or ships that you like? If yes, which ones?

I’ve recently found myself in a period where I don’t care much for romance (or at least, i don’t like when romance or sex is prioritized), but there are a few ships i enjoy or im chill with even if i myself don’t ship them or seek them out.

The most obvious one is Colorkiller, of course. I do love to explore every interpretation and dynamic with them, but I love when they aren’t like, “friends to lovers” but instead friends and lovers.

And I do believe these two could potentially be portrayed as just about anything, and they’re definitely a little fruity even if it’s genuinely platonic—given how it’s kinda implied that killer likes to tease and flirt with color, and other things that color wants to be done only in certain environments and places. (The “omg not here” drawing.)

There’s not much other ship content with Color, but I feel id enjoy exploring or seeing it just about any kind. Such as with Delta, in a poly relationship with Delta and Killer, in a poly with the MTT, etc. maybe I’d even be interested in seeing some type of depiction of colormare or even a poly between color, killer, and nightmare if it’s interesting and compelling.

I’m neutral or apathetic on most other Killer ships, except for a few interpretations of ships that can get annoying. I don’t really ship Killer with most characters, but I can try to get behind a certain interpretation. I’d like to see more HorrorKiller content, if only because there’s so little of it.

The only one’s im ever iffy with shipping him with the apple twins, and sorta with swap—swap because killer has hurt him pretty bad in his own dubiously canon, and I feel that the trauma Killer caused both Swap and Dream should be meaningfully addressed before a relationship even begins.

Swap and Dream don’t deserve to live in fear that their partner would hurt them again. (Or if you’re intending to go with a toxic or abusive dynamic, then to depict it with care.)

I’ve heard of the idea of i think Insomnia? Error x Ink x Dream? Where, for Ink, it’s a QPR—he does not have romantic feelings for either Dream or Error, even if they do have them for him and eachother, and everyone knows and is aware of this and it’s chill. I’m not hugely invested in it, but the idea seemed interesting.

I find Drink, Dreamberry, Stars poly, and Cream a little cute on the surface; but i haven’t really seen much content with these ships or how they’re commonly portrayed to have big feelings or opinions about them.

I think Crepic is cute, and that one ship between them and Killer (especially if colors there too), cute. I’m not a big fan of romantic kross, certainly prefer signanothername’s interpretation of them, but it’s chill.

I find that one potential post talking about killer with fell also very interesting.

And i guess that’s maybe it? I don’t really ship too much. I much prefer either found family, genuine rivals or enemies (no to lovers), platonic friendships and qprs, or even fwbs is interesting, or other things of those nature.

Oh! Also, I feel like Killer’s crush on Toriel as Sans has potential. Even if it was only a crush and they weren’t ever officially together, when and how and why did sans grow a crush on her, and how did it feel when not even her or his own brother could keep sans hoping that things would change or that they could be saved. Did Toriel offer some sort of comfort or solace when he was losing his mind? What was it like to kill her for the first time? Was that the first time he ever actually saw her face, no door between them?

there's one major thing that's been nagging on me about l&co adaptation ever since my first watch: if we were to get season 2, how would they set up the conflict of THB?

i can get behind some of reinterpretation of characters and their mannerisms, character traits (i.e. Lockwood dressing less formal and not being a know-it-all, Lucy being less hateful towards George, seeing Kipps as he's actively losing his talent, George Karim being iranian and being very close to his culture in a form of cuisine), some are good, as a fan of books i'd be eager to get to know these characters along side their book counterparts.

but alas, i can't see these characters as the same characters in both medias because too much of their characterisation was changed, and it's really hard to blame on pacing or the lack of screen time. it's the writing. some changes going as far as making me question, what were they supposed to do with this groundwork in the second season.

how would runners set up a conflict of L&Co overworking themselves after gaining fame over solving the bone glass case and accepting all calls they were getting, if show!Lockwood out right says in episode 4 that he's not interested in boring cases? not only does it get rid off of a major characterisation of Lockwood as someone who's, yes, in it for fame, but most importantly he became an agent to "avenge" his family. avenge isn't even the right word, i think. he doesn't want others to be fallen victims to a visitor, doesn't want to see other people lose their loved ones, lose their family to ghosts. not only does it make show!Lockwood rather vain and only fame driven, instead of someone dealing with deep personal trauma, but also loses one of the key points of Holly's introduction to the team. (i also love the reading of LW naming his agency Lockwood&Co as something less selfish and more about him paying a tribute to his family, that without them and visitors taking them away from him, he wouldn't start his agency and wouldn't be able to help other people.)

speaking of Holly's introduction, what exactly would have been her role at the start in the show? L&Co don't seem overworked from the 4 cases they had (2 related to TSS out of 4 in the book, Wimbledon gallows + Bickerstaff's, not counting Wilberforce's ghost and a bunch of not mentioned in dialogue cases i. e. Mrs Barrett's tomb). that already solves the problem of trio not having free time to do chores around the house. but say show says "and now they're overworked" instead of showing, sure, but it doesn't get rid of George's stress cleaning habit.

Holly was introduced as a help, as a support to the way L&Co was already running and over the books she became more than just an assistant but a beloved part of the team. without proper reasoning as to why Lockwood & Co had to get an assistant, Holly's introduction could be messy and unprompted, something like checking a box in the list of what has to happen instead of making it story driven. something like what happened to skull's character.

and a final thing that im iffy about is the ending of the first season. somehow show rushed through and speedran Lockwood's suicidal arc as well as managed to call it out by the end of show's TWS storyline, where books didn't show any progress even by the end of TEG.

but im saying call it out, not resolve. i'd actually appreciate it if show made an effort of showing that such tendencies and lack of self-preservation aren't just resolved in a second, someone saying "stop being suicidal" doesn't magically fix everything. and yet, show still speedran things, especially given that events of the show happen in only 10 days instead of a year, and Lockwood's already made very aware of his reckless behaviour aka throwing himself in danger for people, and, what's even more questionable, for people he barely knows. which, again, contradicts his character and the way he navigates trauma.

these character and plot deviations and inconsistencies may not seem critical at first, but they might build over the course of the series and lead to a complete shift in overall narrative and spirit of L&Co as a story. which i wouldn't want to see as a fan.

to put it simply, i can see why fans want for show to be picked up for a second season, but i can't see how writers could make it coherent because they wrote themselves into a corner.

If you don’t mind me asking? why do you believe that Slytherin is a terrible house? Draco was an asshole and some of the other Slytherins(Crabbe, Goyle). although throughout the entire series the golden trio were practically bullies to most Slytherins for no reason(more so in the books)? Slytherins at hogwarts were usually mistreated due to their reputation of producing dark wizards, as if Ravenclaw doesn’t have almost just as much 🙏 plus how biased the entire school facility were with Slytherins, honestly i wouldn’t expect Slytherins to act the best when the whole schools against them.

And Slytherins being bullied or mistreated isn’t a new thing, especially by Gryffindors(Ex; Golden trio, marauders, fantastic beasts).

kinda confused a bit because i don’t remember ever calling slytherin a terrible house lol. i’ve said that slytherin was written with the mind to make it a bad house, with all its characters being pretty morally bleak. hp is not supposed to be very morally complex, all the work in that is mostly credited to fandom.

as readers, we’re positioned to sympathise with the golden trio being mean to slytherin characters more because they have the moral leverage of not being blood purists or terrorists. maybe harry had no reason to go after them at first, but hermione definitely had as a muggleborn, and ron was constantly getting slandered for either being poor or a blood traitor. granted, this was all mostly from draco. the other slytherins are one-dimensional characters who serve as his lackeys, there’s not one that’s properly fleshed out except maybe severus snape and even that’s iffy for a lot of fans.

yes, ravenclaws did have death eaters, but not to the same extent that slytherin was producing them. most death eater characters have unconfirmed houses, the only ravenclaw we actually know to be a death eater is quirrel and thats it. so they’re actually tying with the amount of death eaters gryffindor produces (pettigrew), not slytherin. everyone else— lestranges, blacks, malfoys, crabbes, snape etc— are slytherins. this is unsurprising as salazar slytherin literally wanted to gatekeep his house from progressive and inclusive ideals.

i have many gripes with the oppressive world jkr has written— i don’t think she understands how oppression operates because i agree with what you say about most of the hogwarts staff treating the slytherins like shit. in reality, the ones who are oppressed should be the ones discriminated against, but in the hpverse you see the oppressors getting treated badly. im not saying i think slytherins should be presented as the oppressed, its just horrid writing on her part.

i really like ron, i think he’s a really well fleshed-out character with realistic flaws and a good arc. i cant remember when he bullied first years and i don’t remember him abusing his prefect status in any extremely terrible way that would lower my opinion of him. i do remember him almost slut-shaming ginny, and though i think it was terrible of him i also think it was a realistic thing to say from an older brother to a younger sister in the 90s. i have a younger brother and you should clock some of the arguments we’ve had over the years in the 2020s. it’s within the same vein. ginny was pressing on ron’s sore spots as little siblings do, and ron was attempting to compensate by biting back in any way he could. it was realistic to me. and its been a while since i read the books but ron bitching about crookshanks read as comedic. granted, i was like 11 years old when i read them, but i remember thinking it was justified because to ron, crookshanks was literally trying to kill his pet. he’s not going to be chill around something thats tried to eat his rat multiple times. when someone is attacking your pet, you get scared and angry and try to fight back in defence of your pet because you want to deter that animal from trying anything like that again. they obviously can’t understand you if you simply lecture them. i once had to do something similar (i did not physically fight anything though LOL) when i got a new cat, and our neighbour’s cat would constantly attack and injure him every time we let him outside. and that was a cat v cat, this is a little mouse versus crookshanks 😭😭

Anyways, their name is Vio, and they were a prototype created by Nexus in the development of dissonance powered combat units (like the ones you can fight in Project Nexus). They were a successfull experiment, for the most part. The only problem was a flaw with the dissonance containment that caused a small amount of leakage. And because of the nature of dissonance, it's bad for everyone involved. So, the only solution? Unit disposal!

Now, and don't ask me how, Vio somehow survives disposal and is free to fuck off around Nevada. They take up mercenary work cause that's like, the only thing they can really do. It's Nevada, you get it. Anyways, they're hella good at it, and the usually get the job done. They take jobs indiscriminately and without bias. Want them to stop this shipment of weapons and ammo? You got it! Need them to take out this one guy for a ridiculously petty reason? Sure, why not. This leads them to being hired by opposing factions a lot, the SQ and AAHW being among them.

Alright, fun stuff. They have an expiration date. Because of the whole dissonance leakage thing going on, the dissonance will eventually erod their body into nothingness. Until then, though, the dissonance is anchored to the body via their S3LF and just fills in for the eroded stuff. Another fun thing is how they go from being a naive and optimistic and postive kinda guy to the most nihilistic bitch you've ever seen. Learning that their existence is on a clock definately does not help their mental health. Also Nevada. Ye. They could also techinally become a bomb that would basically atomize everything in its blast radius but im still working that out

Honestly, I love gen fics more than romances, and my storage is full of mostly family and friendship fluff fics. However, with the current direction TBA is going, I have to say romance will come up at some point for some of the characters, including Ron. I understand how some will feel iffy about him being romantically involved with someone, especially if said someone is a Hogwarts student and is younger than Ron mentally. I will try to handle the subject as best as I can but I will understand also if that is still not your cup of tea. So TL, DR: yes, there will be romance, for romance, but not for a long time for Ron in particular (most likely starting Year 6).

WEDDING DAY SOBS SOBS SOBS okay well.... for one thing i do think laslow is a bit of a wreck. anxious to be in front of all these people, anxious to do well in a culture so unlike his own, anxious for what's to come after marrying a king. i think he'd also have a melancholy about him. his friends aren't all there. even if odin and selena are around, i really think the consequences of staying in nohr will weigh on laslow for like. ever. i don't think he'd be able to shake some of the sadness and loneliness. and on a day like his wedding, i think it'd be on his mind. For an ordinary person, fitting into an idol’s schedule is undoubtedly very difficult. Even two celebrities often break up because of it. They need someone understanding and, most importantly, patient. Waiting will likely take a long time, possibly even years.

It’s a difficult question to answer, but BTS members aren’t getting any younger, so I think that in the future, fans (who will also age along with them) will take their relationships and families more calmly. Some members will likely appear openly in public with their partners.

I love love love teruhashi so so so much and it takes every single bit of my willpower to not viscerally attack someone when they say they hate her (/j I'm not attacking ppl) but I have to remind myself they just don't understand and they're not as insane as me. Also I think Saiki and Teruhashi having a closer relationship would provide some benefit for both of them. Idk how I forgot about that episode you mentioned but the way Saiki caught her before she fell just UGH ❤️❤️ I think they would take really good care of each other if they just got a little closer.

2. Demi saiki definitely makes the most sense to me!! I forgot that was a thing and couldn't think of a label to apply to him LMFAO but I love hcing a lot of my favs as demi because that's just how I view optimal relationships in general if that makes sense.

first off, i want to clarify something. i realise what i rb’d says max should’ve got to do donuts— that actually wasn’t the main point of me rbing it!! being brutally honest, the rb was just showing i agreed with the fact i didn’t agree with lewis getting a special finishing position + donut secrion. you could argue max should’ve done them in vegas, but you could also argue he should’ve done them in abu dhabi— it really just depends on the fan.

long answer ahead:

im guessing you mean them meeting face to face. how i imagine it happening starts with misha carrying arthur back to base after he passes out from severely overstraining himself during a fight. usually they would phase in and drag arthur to a safe spot and watch over him until he woke up.. but this is a dangerous area and that cough sounded particularly bad, so they decide to drop the act and get him to safety

up until that moment theyve been backseating his missions and talking to him the whole time.. due their chronic inability to shut up and keep a low profile. any questions about their identity are either ignored or answered with a shitty lie ("dont worry arthur im just your subconsciousness :)" "you dont sound like me" "dont worry about it :)")

after arthur wakes up, he goes to find out how tf he got here since he was running solo and no one was supposed to be in the area, people tell him he got brought back by a stranger thats currently talking to dr entrati. no one knows who they are or where they came from but seem to be important to the doctor

when the two finally meet he instantly recognizes the voice thats been talking to him in his head nonstop but cant straight up ask without sounding insane to everyone else. arthur settles on asking if they met before and misha says that maybe they have, who knows? ;)

misha sticks around in the flesh after that and they team up :) the voice in arthurs head has gone suspiciously silent for the most part but he can still feel some echo of foreign emotions bouncing around his skull

as for the puppeteering part: misha has mixed feelings about the whole warframe thing and already feels very iffy controlling umbra. they tried to keep their control over arthur to the absolute minimum before their official meeting and forgoes it completely when they work together (up until the inevitable reveal i guess)

Not even at the Top Three reasons I've mainly left the wc fandom and instead just do my own thing on my own tag, but incredibly frustrating nonetheless. How wc tumblr just treats people making their own fix-it aus for fun.

I don't know how it is for other fandoms, but the amount of people making their own rewrites of the wc series is.... massive. Basically every single guy in here if free to have a go at it if they want, and nobody cares, it's basically everybody here that makes up their own version of canon because the actual books are widely agreed upon to, well... *gestures at the misogyny, ableism, racism ex. the tribe, casual fatphobia, iffy at best portrayal of abuse, terrible and lazy writing in general* kinda suck.

it is kinda considered Normal in here, since it's so common, and as result, people just got... Really entitled? dare i say downright unhinged about other people's silly AUs?

One aspect that I feel is the most prevalent in this, that literally nobody talks about because of course, is the absolute condemn of anything realistic or "uncool". I remember there was that one post floating around a few months (years?) back, that basically said "[quoting. im lazy] I think the main problem with warriors rewrites is they get so bogged down in ‘trying to make sense’ or ‘make them act like actual cats’ is they forget to make things COOL AS SHIT. Like yes your bloodclan has 200 pages of foreshadowing but is it still COOL AS SHIT? (...) If your warrior cats rewrite wouldn’t result in 200 scourge animations of him being cool as shit if it was the canon material you have failed." and just for clarification I do not have anything against the person that posted it, I do not think they were being intentionally rude in any way. But. Both before it there was a problem, and after it got passed around enough I think people got the Wrong Idea. Or maybe the Right One idk man, and just found a way to describe how they felt about some of the rewrite projects going on.

The fandom is largely ranging from dismissing to outright hostile towards people making aus/rewrites/other fics where the Clans are more realistic or have more rigid naming rules, for example, ones where the cats act more like cats, many events don't really get to happen or are changed due to just not working in a more realistic universe, traditional and similiar naming systems, accurate genetics, so on so on. And I do admit there was once a problem where those people who prefer more realistic styles, especially the traditional namers, were pushing it onto others and acting really mean towards people just looking to have fun and not really pay attention to any naming rules; however, it was a long time ago, and has mostly died down. Nowadays, all the trad namers I know of are actually pretty chill, and there's very few of them. (Like, we are dying over there lmao the numbers are going down every year)

However, the fandom just, really has not moved on from those times (and I'm asking, was that really that prevalent back then? or are these people just exaggerating as always?) and continues to be just.... really bitter of tradnamers. Constantly convinced that they are "ruining their fun" just by having their own spaces somewhere. One blog of the more traditional kind that I followed got sent an ask somewhere along the lines of "oh yeah sure your fanfic is 'realistic', but would it have people make sick amvs about it in the 2010s???" and I just. Knew where they got the idea. Not even exclusive to just in traditional system, but people tend to get very weird towards people that choose to change up parts of cats' names they don't like or find unsuited for their au? for example, changing Longtail's name to Lizardtail because it's odd for a queen to just name their son longkit, or Runningwind to something different all together because they find the prefix "Running-" really silly to name a baby or because the suffix "-wind" is already the name of another Clan in canon, or changing the names of some other cats just because they don't suit them or the circumstances behind them are iffy to them. (I personally find it pretty fun, and has renamed a considerable deal of cats in my own: ex. Jayfeather -> Jaywing, Longtail -> Lizardtail, Loudbelly -> Minkbelly, Clawface -> Clawedface, Hollyleaf -> Hollythorn)

Apparently, it's "boring", or ruining other people's fun somehow despite them not needing to read them? Lyrical namers (opposite of traditional, if anybody needs an explanation: tradnaming assigns hard defined rules to the names that clan cats can have, while lyrnaming does not have any rules and is about just naming them whatever you like if you think it is cool or sounds pretty) act like they're constantly being persecuted en masse by the Mean Traditionalists that brutally force them to conform, while.... the lyrnamers are actually the overall majority, while tradnamers are now pretty uncommon and usually literally just mind their own business. It's "let people have fun" but only for the things that you personally find fun, don't even dare to like to have rules or any of these things, it's not like any people in particular actually find creating their own suffix meaning systems personally fun or anything, they just want to name the cats ugly/boring shit because they're killjoys. Yeagh

Same with people changing cats' designs to be more realistic simply because they prefer it that way, who then get vagueposted about and called "uncreative". A very small percent of artists actually know real life cat genetics, and none of them, at this current time (people were very different say, like, 10+ years ago in the fandom. things tend to change) i have ever heard of apparently forcing anybody upon these things.

Not every silly warrior cats au of some random 16 year old with like 12 followers needs to be Cool to your near impossible standards. "Let people have fun" means also letting people have fun that you personally don't understand or don't find fun personally. I get so anxious whenever I force myself to word anything and then end up forgetting half of it in the middle of it so if I didn't include something or if a sentence looks weird then that may be why. But basically, what I'm saying is: can't we just hold paws and sing masterpiece theatre iii by marianas trench for fucks sakeee can we calm the fuck down

how to: talk to artists

before i get into this, if you've said any of these, then im not mad. it makes sense you wouldnt understand how it feels to be on the other end of stuff like this. but please listen.

its been a universal constant that artists are usually well respected. cool! however some of the ways artists are complimented/spoken to are...really iffy, at best, and outright hurtful at worst. i'll be compiling all the ones i remember. artists, reblogs are appreciated.

DON'T: "wow, how did you do this in an hour? this would take me a whole day!"

this one isnt that bad but it can still be taken poorly. simply put, its kinda just stomping on the skill that an artist has built up to work quicker or not. some artists take a while, others don't, it shouldn't matter unless it becomes an issue.

DON'T: "your art is way better than mine!"

this one is pretty bad. the artist may feel as though they've been put on a pedestal, and can become uncomfortable due to that. even worse is if this person isnt saying it in a compliment way, but in a "i hate my own art" way and get upset. while i can understand not being confident in your own works, and i empathize with you as i used to be like that, PLEASE don't take it out on artists. we dont want to make you upset, so if posting art near you makes you upset over the quality and effort put into it, we may not want to post these works around you again.

DON'T: "can you draw me?"

no. just don't. please don't beg artists to draw you, your characters, or anything else unless they specifically ask for requests. it can make us feel pressured because we dont want to hurt feelings, even if we don't want to. i promise you there are people with art requests open. ask there!

DON'T: "did you draw that?"

yes, i did. unless you think someone is stealing art, to which there tend to be obvious signs, assume in good faith the artist is the artist.

DON'T: "your character reminds me of.."

most artists hate their characters being compared to others. ocs are often very closely cherished by the creator, so unless they wear their inspirations on their sleeve, please don't compare. feeling like nothing we make is original is already natural enough, and saying this kind of thing makes it worse.

DON'T: "this looks bad/i hate this/(character) wouldn't do this/etc, etc."

unwarranted criticism, even constructive, isn't fun. some artists specifically seek constructive criticism, some don't. respect that. saying shit like 'this is bad' is not constructive and does nothing to help the artist either way. saying a character is OOC doesn't really matter, people can do what they want. of course, if, say, an artist got something major wrong, like a hand being backwards, most (but not all) would likely appreciate that being (GENTLY.) pointed out to them.
