An interesting difference in the manga compared to the anime is that Astral is more expressive from the start. In the anime, Astral had more time to learn about emotions and he became more expressive with time, while in the manga (that is shorter than the anime), he is like that since the duel against Shark:

And I love this. It's a little change for the duel (that plays the same as the anime), but a big change for Astral as character, letting us see how he would have reacted to certain things if he were more emotional and expressive from the start.

(I love both versions, I just think it's very interesting how the anime and manga are different even at the start, where they were very similar until the duel against Kaito. And I'm also very happy to see more Astral's expressions)

Mini rant below and in the tags, the only time I’ll talk about this and my personal take on it.

The way people talk about hypothetical male Anya on Twitter and the idea of how Mouthwashing would play out if the genders were swapped makes me remember how people still don’t take sexual assault and rape with male victims with the same gravity, especially when the perpetrator is female.

No but in all seriousness, I don't think a Rope remake is something we really need. The only thing they could handle differently from Hitchcock is the homosexual subtext (and the fact that they could shoot it in an actual sequence shot). They could make it explicit, they could delve deeper into the character's personal lives and I wouldn't mind that at all (even if I think Hitchcock's version is already the best version in every aspect and nothing could ever top it).

BUT a remake by Fincher for Netflix - which lately has been, you know, working on a "modern take" of Dorian Gray where Dorian and Basil are ✨brothers✨ - scares the hell out of me. I really wanna believe that they're not gonna erase the queer storyline, which is CENTRAL to the movie and its history. I really wanna believe that Charlize Theron is rumored to be "lined up for a starring role" because maybe the script is going to be changed to give Janet a more important role, but I'm not that much of an optimist.

Not to be a buzzkill or anything but everyone remember when hen accidentally hit the lady with the ambulance right? She was temporarily benched while they investigated right? Well let’s compare that with the fact that Buck just tackled his fire chief and it appears that he did some pretty serious damage. Despite the fact that he saved him from the saw blade it is still very possible that there will be repercussions to this. If they investigate and someone mentions Gerrard yelling at Buck it could be taken as him purposely injuring Gerrard. Yes I believe he saw the blade coming at him but most people aren’t gonna think that.

Also I feel like this is going to be used to get Gerrard to “turn a new leaf” or like devillian him and idk how I feel about that because I don’t really want a grovel and get forgiveness arc with him.

I don't think I've ever seen any posts about the difficulty and guilt of having a partner when you have DID (or really any mental illness honestly) I love my partner so so dearly and I have gotten to a point where I trust they love me back. Even though logically I have trust that they mean it when they say they love me it doesn't stop the fear creeping up, the fear that eventually they'll have had enough and decide its time to end it with me. Quite honestly it's my greatest fear because I love them so deeply and know that I'll never be able to form a connection like ours ever again. I love them, and I wish I could always act like I do. One of my alters doesn't like them very much, and some of our alters are very sensitive and have a tendency to overreact, and these things force the body into being very emotional, scared, and at times uncaring. And the fact that they have to put up with all of this feels so unfair to them, they don't deserve how poorly I treat them at times. I want to show my adoration for them and be kind to them always, I want to love them so that they keep loving me

yawning for the n-th time as she sprawls over the hotel bed, lu mengran sighs before discarding her script book and pick up her ipad instead. the day's filming has gone well and smooth, sure it wouldn't be too much if she were to spend some time indulging in the fancy world of social media and the internet, right? the lines that she still hasn't fully memorized could wait just a little bit longer... just a little bit--

another yawn is interrupted when a livestream notification prompts on top of the screen. she swipes it away mindlessly, also accidentally refreshing her w.eibo home feed along, earning a little dissatisfied click of tongue. a few scrolls and then ren xinyu's scandalously half covered chest is on display-- in her defense, the screenshot has been zoomed in several times, and it's hard not to notice. curiosity doesn't kill the cat in this case, however it does kill her urge to sleep when another few more similar posts finally got her to click into the livestream room.

she's heard -- and seen -- enough interactions between ren xinyu and an jinyue to know that those two share a bond deeper than others, but it's not until she almost gets dizzy from all the comments flooding in that she realizes just how ridiculously close they are. the few comments that mengran manages to catch has her bewildered; good thing she is lucky enough to have her own room, or else someone would have to endure her screaming into her pillow. there are some friends that she has gotten close with during and after filming, and the luckiest -- or maybe not -- thing about that is no one cares enough about what they do, be it some wild, borderline inappropriate jokes or anything else in between.

it sure has been an eye-opening experience witnessing this firsthand, and before she knows it, the livestream is approaching its end. almost sad to see it end, her finger hovers over the 'send' button, a small little goodbye comment that's been typed out waiting to be sent when her name is mentioned.

and then her phone is blowing up with notifications that she could barely see or hear properly what's been said.

it's not until the livestream ends, and she's managed to watch a few 'ren xinyu talking about lu mengran in livestream' clips that she realizes how deep of a trouble she could be in. for a split second, she wants to strangle ren xinyu. but she can't cause any harm to someone who has given her such a heartwarming shoutout now, can she?

his messages come just in time as she's typing up a message that's hopefully respectful enough, and slightly dumbfounded, she stands up to pace around her bed as she deletes her initial unsent message:
