You know what? I like your version more and that’s now exactly what happened!
Glimmer has a sixth sense when Catra is about to say something so incredibly stupid that it literally hurts her across space-time. If this was a film or animated thing every time Catra insists on something painfully dumb, you would see Glimmer glaring the background or a reflection or something.
This was probably one of those parking lot fights at a waffle house or a dennys or something. The starting to date and/or Catra insisting someone has to be the class clown, either works.
#the started dating because they fell right into the classic:#fuck yoU!#fuck me YOURSELF coward!!#fine!#FINE!!!#ARRRRRR- *and then they made out sloppy style*#alternatively 100% was the whole#''party rockers in the house tonight-''#''it's party rock /is/...''#''...''#*and then they made out slightly less sloppy style*#*but Mermista still had to ask if they had to do that like right now right now in front of her and her salad and god*#Adora is now dating whoever your fave rarepair for her is#Is it Adora and Scorpia? You bet!#Adora and Mermista? Absolutely!#Adora and Perfuma? hot damn!#Can't believe I finally found the AU where Adora gets her harem lol#Bow and Sea Hawk are definitely dating in this one though#People cannot believe Sea Hawk is the chevron on a throuple but that's just because they think Bow and Mermista are#slightly more put together than they are#or in Bow's case they think he is put together at all instead of a hot mess hiding behind his well maintained persona#....................wait is Entrapta the only one put together in this AU?#I feel like that has major consequences#huh

Another post about my JD fankids is here
I was thinking if I should post these fankids in order of the Danceverses (based on the JD wiki)
But I decided to post about my battlemode fankids first, since I do have some
Anyways, here they are (I might make a part 2 if I hit the photo limit)
Picrew by Didimdal
Lyn
She/Her
17
(Daughter of Mister Overload & MLJ C3)
I had to okay-
Just like her dad, she's a superhero that has lightning powers
But also like her other dad, she has a love for music and wishes to make it big in the music intrasty
As to why I made her look…i guess a bit mean, was because i originally had her have problems showing facial emotions, and prefers to keep to herself (her dead face would look like she's annoyed but she's not)
But now that i saw the One Last Time map…i'm making her have this look cause she's kinda depressed about her parents being divorced, kinda being a therapist to both her dads, all while having to deal with it all alone
What can I say? I love angst
But don't worry, cause i'm still kinda salty about that map, MLJ C3 & Mister Overload will get back together in this au (which will make Lyn feel better)
Kinda debating if i should make a Break Free & Mister Overload fanchild to add to the angst…idk
Another thing, I like to think that instead of having terrible bad luck like her dad, she just makes terrible things happen around her instead of hurting her (another reason why she stays isolated from others)
Anyways, since MLJ C3 & Rasputin are friends, so are Lyn & Viktor (my Rasputin & The Bride fankid)
Their good friends (its like that meme where the two quiet kids were best friends without saying a single word lol)
Outfit ideas:
Anyways, I think I'm gonna start giving them voice claims, I'll probably go back to my other fankid posts and give them voices
Anyways, Lyn's voice claim: Mermista (She-Ra) or Zooble (The Amazing Digital Circus)
Picrew by shima.h
Callie
She/Her
17
(Daughter of Maybel & Joshua)
I recently made her so her summary is gonna be short
Just like Maybel, she's very energetic and loves to spend a lot of time on social media
She's always high positive about everything (rarely gets mad) and wants to bring out the best of everyone
And idk, something about Beauty And A Beat makes Joshua seem chill? So is Callie (she sees death right in front of her, and all she does is smile and wave lol)
Thinking of making her & the rest of the battle mode fankids be some sort of friend group, she's the most social of the group, she besties with Lyn, the less social of the group (debating if Lesbians or not/hj)
Outfit ideas:
Voice claim: Mei (Monkie Kid)
And if anyone wants, feel free to ask questions about them if you want
Part 2 might come soon!

Alliances of the Heart
A She-Ra: Princess of Power 2018 fanfiction
For centuries, the All Princess Ball has been a time for the nobility of Etheria to let loose. Flaunting their power, prestige, and fashion for all to see. The ball had always been politically neutral, but, as tension from the war rises, not everyone is so keen to forget what happens beyond the walls of Castle Chill.
Lord Hordak, along with Princess Scorpia and Force Captian Catra, have come to the party to make alliances and find out everything there is to know about their enemies. Careful to not arouse the suspicion of the Princess Alliance.
Princess Entrapta, being the scientist she is, decides to come to the party to decode the secrets of body language, despite getting the same data from every other party she has ever attended.
When the two rulers cross paths, their plans flip on their heads as the two grow closer. Now it is up to Catra and Scorpia to push the two together as Adora and Glimmer stick their noses where they do not belong.
________________
Chapter 10: The Right Step
Adora joined the party right as the doors opened, her eyes zeroing in on Frosta, who sat on her throne. Fighting her impulses, Adora stayed with the ranks of the crowd and surveyed the endless sea of partygoers. Despite entering with Perfuma, Bow quickly joined Glimmer’s side while Perfuma left to join her other friends. Sweet Bee was still melancholy, while the Star Sisters left a trail of giggles behind them. Catra and Scorpia were still upholding their air of friendliness (Adora was still convinced they were up to something). Also, she noticed Mermista and Sea Hawk were nowhere to be found.
Then Adora, unfortunately, noticed Hordak entering, and annoyance washed over her. Hordak had won over Entrapta, and Adora was still bitter and baffled Entrapta would ever want to join his side, but it didn’t matter now. Adora had a mission, and it will not be hindered by one warlord.
___________
Hordak had entered the ballroom, looking like a lost puppy as he searched for Princess Entrapta.
After careful observation, he deemed the princess late and told himself that was fine. To pass the time, he checked in with Catra and Scorpia.
“Have you learned anything new?” Hordak, who was already sipping on a glass of wine, asked.
“Huh,” Catra looked up at the warlord with a slightly apathetic expression, “Oh, nothing much, just useless gossip.”
Hordak’s face was pulled into a tight line. Despite the welcomed distraction Princess Entrapta provided, Hordak still wanted his original plans carried out. Also, Hordak didn't appreciate how flippantly Catra had started to regard him.
“Sorry, Lord Hordak.” Scorpia, who was still firm in her respect, commented.
“Never mind that,” the volume of Hordak’s voice dropped, “go after some of the other princesses and government officials who are not in the Alliance. We need as many people on our side as we can get.”
“What about,” Catra mused, glancing over to Frosta.
“No,” Hordak replied firmly. “Frosta is strict about Prom etiquette, and if she suspects we are trying to convert her, she could throw us out of the party entirely.”
The two Force Captains gave the warlord a short nod.
Across the ballroom, another set of doors opened, letting in Princess Entrapta. At the sight, Hordak’s posture straightened and his ears perked in attention.
But, Hordak’s attention dissipated as he picked up the sound of his Force Captains whispering and giggling to each other.
“What?” Hordak questions defensively, while his ears flicked downward.
“Oh nothing,” Catra sighed and began to pull Scorpia away. “You can return to your princess, Lord Hordak.”
“We’ll take care of everything!” Scorpia shouted as she and Catra disappeared into the glittering crowd.
Hordak rolled his eyes and brushed off his embarrassment as he walked toward the princess, placing down his glass while adjusting his cape and hair along the way.
When Hordak got close enough to fully see the princess, he was floored. His first observation was she was wearing the coat, despite the heat of the castle. Then he took in the rest of her ensemble. Instead of her usual overalls, she wore beige trousers, and white ballet flats replaced her work boots. Most interesting was the fact she had her hair in a high ponytail and her bangs were pushed up and hung over a pair of red-lens goggles.
The two finally took their places next to each other while Hordak attempted to calm his nerves.
“Hi, Hordak!” Entrapta greeted, as jovial as ever.
“Good evening, princess.” Hordak gave her a small bow. “I see you received your gift.”
“Yeah, I love it! It’s so versatile and comfy!” She gushed as she hugged herself and the coat. “This is the best gift anyone has ever gotten me.” She assured, a warm smile spreading across her face.
A warm feeling bloomed in Hordak’s chest, which was evident by the pink lightly dusting Hordak’s cheeks and ears. He cleared his throat, simultaneously trying to calm down the beating in his chest and ripping his eyes from Entrapta’s sparkling ones.
“Would you,” Hordak mused as his heart finally steadied, “like to return to the gardens?” Hordak offered his arm to the princess, which she gladly took.
“Of course!” Entrapta exclaimed as she began to drag away Hordak. “I’ve already thought of 87 design ideas for those bots you were talking about!”
“Sounds delightful.”
The pair made their way to the gardens through a corridor Entrapta had found on her way to the party (while Hordak tried to hide his embarrassment of not finding this earlier).
__________________
An hour passed and Adora finally found an opening to talk to Frosta. She was standing next to a snack table with no guards around her. Now, Adora just needs to approach her correctly.
It was evident Frosta was a stickler for Princess Prom rules and etiquette, so recruiting her wouldn’t be possible until after the event had ended. Instead, Adora focused on befriending and gaining her trust first, then slowly introducing her to the rest of the Alliance. When she is on their side personally, it should be easier to get her on their side politically. Also, if they were successful, perhaps some of the smaller kingdoms would follow Frosta’s lead.
It was a (hopefully) fool-proof plan.
Adora approached the table, hoping she appeared casual. She poured herself a glass of punch and gave it a sip, savoring the sweet drink. She pretended to innocently look around until Frosta locked eyes with her.
“Good evening, revered hostess.” Adora gave a short, yet firm, bow.
“Adora,” she replied with a regal yet dismissive tone. “Are you enjoying the festivities?” She asked, plucking a strawberry off the table.
“Of course, your highness.” Adora could feel her hands get clammy as an awkward tension started to form. “I would just like to say sorry for disrespecting you and the rules of Princess Prom. It was improper of me and I regret every moment of it.” Adora gave another bow as her nervous eyes were trained on Frosta’s expression.
“Apology accepted,” Frosta assured, lifting the weight on Adora’s shoulders. “This party puts me in an awkward place in terms of keeping to the rules, and I need to be firm and fair to all guests. Besides, this is your first ball, correct?”
“I understand, and yes, it is.”
“Then you have slight leeway.” Frosta paused, thinking about her next move. “I am not ignorant, Adora. I know, as a child ruler, I am in a precarious position. Many people expect little of me, so I need to keep a firm grip to command respect. I especially can’t have people causing problems at my first ball,” Frosta explained, her eyes keeping an unyielding gaze on Adora.
“I understand, hostess.”
“Good,” Frosta replied with a nod. “Walk with me.” Frosta began to move, waving at Adora to follow her.
The two walked across the floor and up the stairs to the second level of the ballroom, stopping infront of the railing.
“While, on the surface, this can be seen as just another party, this represents something bigger.” Frosta gestured toward the crowd. “It is the representation of peace between our nations and a chance for us to see our countries are not just masses of land, but people with thoughts and feelings.” Frosta turned to face Adora directly. “I know it is the sacred duty of She-Ra to protect our planet, but I can not afford to rattle the foundations of this event.” Frosta sighed. “I can’t stop you from thinking about or watching the members of the Horde, but just try to keep it under wraps.”
“As you command, revered hostess.” Adora gave her final bow, and the two went their separate ways.
___________
When she got out of sight, Adora took a deep breath and leaned against a wall.
Not 100% how she hoped it would pan out, but it was a step in the right direction.

Man I got through that last one fast
s4 ep8 Boys' Night Out
(This one took way longer but also I stopped partway through bc Mal the cat had zoomies and I must appease him with the laser pointer)
ALSO this ended up with multiple Our Flag Means Death references, you're welcome
Glimmer etc. save a bunch of sea elf people from a little village as Hordak destroys it, roll intro
Apparently Double Trouble is refusing to tell them anything more
also they're still arguing about Glimmer going off on her own
also Mermista is taking a long bath and eating all the ice cream in Bright moon apparently
But yeah more arguing with Glimmer, and specifically getting mad at any hint of Adora telling her what to do
Which reminds me of a quote I copy/pasted into my fic notes (I do not remember where I got it I just know Nate said it)
"I think Adora has a huge character flaw where when she feels responsible for someone, she'll do anything to protect them to the point of fencing them in and accidentally taking away their agency. She thinks this is something that she's supposed to do, and I don't think she's fully addressed this part of herself. Catra and Glimmer think it comes from her ego, but she was raised to believe she was only worth anything to anyone if she was useful to them, so really she's just trying to prove herself to them. To prove that she's worth existing, even."
and like
ouch
but yeah it's hardcore on display here
Swift Wind invites himself along lol
lol
Hordak is a big dick, is gonna try to conquer more of Etheria himself so he looks all badass when Horde Prime shows up, orders Catra back to the Fright Zone
and she's stressed out and smooths out her hair D:
the bit of this character being asleep, getting elbowed awake, and iMMEDIATELY starting to play is so funny
why does Swift Wind know the words
new headcanon: Sea Hawk was a stripper at some point
*adds to "this wasn't meant to be a Sex Joke...probably"* collection
THE PHRASING DOESN'T HELP
Look I make so many jokes about cartoon bondage, and here Sea Hawk PAID SOMEONE TO TIE HIM UP AND PRETEND TO KIDNAP HIM I just
I can't even add to that lolol
something something insert "Our Flag Means Death"-based joke here
Swift Wind: I will contact Adora via MAGIC
back to Bright Moon
Adora: "what is going on with you? I know things are bad right now, but we can fix it!" Glimmer: "Why is that always your answer to everything!" Adora:
If you don't let me fix it I HAVE NO WORTH OR VALUE AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
Glimmer: we haven't fucking fixed a god damn thing and shit is getting WORSE Adora: WELL YEAH BC YOU WON'T LET US HELP YOU,
Swift Wind: "She hung up on me!"
IS IT GONNA BE KARL
playing Sea Hawk was probably fun in general but he did in fact make seagull noises
omg it is Karl
okay so Admiral Scurvy is just like I WANT MONEY which brings me back to asking WHAT CURRENCY ARE THEY FUCKING USING
mopey kitty. do you need laser pointer zoomies, too
oh no she doesn't know Scorpia has left and is pouring out her heart not realizing nobody is listening
"Listen, I'll kill you if you tell anyone this, but...I thought winning would be different. Or at least more...I don't know, fun?"
poor bb
Back to the boys: the Horde paid their ransom 😬
oh god this is great
but also Glimmer and Adora are having a screaming match and Glimmer punches LOW, including the line "Maybe your best isn't good enough! If it was, my mother would still be here!"
I took a screenshot of Adora's face in response but I can't post it it's too sad
but anyway, bigger things to worry about
Mermista: "The boys are in trouble!!"
oh hey I remember that scene
Bow: Friendship takes work!!
that is a very good point
also let's face this episode exists in part just so we get to have an episode in which three male characters get rescued by three women :D
okay I like Mermista's song ngl
omg the double meaning of "fight with friends" catching up to them near the end of the song
and Catra goes looking for Scorpia and goes into her room and
omg this is so funny and cute
I forget where I read it (I've gone through so many interviews etc at this point omgggg) but iirc the note just says "sorry"
Back on the ship: Glimmer reaches out to try to talk to Adora--who smacks her hand away and stomps off
😬 oh boy
ADORA GOD DAMMIT
Mermista and Sea Hawk are still singing and having a good time, Bow stares off into the distance singing along, end of episode
...I took way more screenshots than I expected on this one lol

if ur still doing fic requests, can u do how all the SPOP characters react to Elon Musk and the twitter implosion?
I got this ask few days ago and wrote this but didn't post bc I left some characters out but I’m never going to have a better chance to post it than now so, here ya go!
Catra and Glimmer immediately went on the assault, using their verified status to impersonate the Muskrat… were both promptly suspended. Catra a few hours before Glimmer, which won her the bet between them, and she will never, EVER let Glimmer live it down.
Catra does still maintain Melog's Twitter presence (Entrapta buttered the cat as part of an elaborate experiment and Melog went viral) because its platform on unions and worker's rights was too important to squander.
In the spirit of Adventure!, Sea Hawk took advantage of the unregulated verification system to sow chaos by registering as a number of political figures and brands. At last count, he'd managed to tank the value of Amazon stock with what pundits are nicknamed the "wick in a box" stunt and was the direct cause of Old Spice suing Twitter for “damaging the sanctity of the brand and also several nautically theme shooting sets.”
Mermista claimed that the whole thing was, like, too stupid to join in but that was because she was secretly hoping to use her Twitter account to participate in #pitmad this year and finally get a book deal for Dead in the Water, the first in her series of undersea murder mysteries.
Adora immediately made accounts on Mastodon, Cohost, and every other Twitter alternative she could find and is trying to build up a following. She has tweeted the exact same joke on no less than five platforms as of this moment and is frantically researching tips for increasing engagement because social media is a game and she WILL win.
Bow's Twitter account was also suspended for impersonating Musk. Glimmer again. But he never really used it. He's more into making helpful YouTube tutorials. He has a Tumblr account too, but it's mostly filled with embarrassing old posts from his old Pirates of the Caribbean roleplaying days.
Netossa and Spinnerella finally ceded their long standing competition to see who could get the most Twitter followers and decided to concentrate on their popular YouTube channel where they document their ongoing prank war. They are currently competing to see who can stack the most verified checkmarks on their Tumblr account.
Kyle said it was a shame about Twitter going down but he wasn't too worried, since he still had his parasocial fanbase of 50 million fans who watched his gaming streams. Despite his underwhelming face reveal last month, he is still currently part of 3 of the top 10 ships on AO3.
Lonnie also streams and 99% of the comments on her streams are about how she's so underrated and deserves so much more popularity. She and Rogelio also have a big following on their fitness TikTok where they participate in funny trends and bully Kyle.
Entrapta does not need a social network. She IS the social network. She's so deeply tapped in she knows about every trend or breaking news story five minutes before it happens and has personally overthrown at least two governments without leaving her desk chair. She has an account on every major social network, but her close friends know those are just bots working off highly developed AI. If she does feel like actually socializing online, she makes a burner and hops on Reddit to start trouble in the Linux subreddits by recommending ethically dubious hacks for the lulz.
Hordak used to be a bit of a darkweb edgelord with an extensive collection of NFTs, but he's stopped hanging around with that bad crowd. These days, he's proudly not online at all, but always listens very patiently whenever Entrapta tries to explain the latest memes.
Frosta's deep into the Club Penguin fandom on Tumblr and has written 400k words of Jelsa fanfic she would die if anyone in the princess alliance found out about.
Castaspella only uses Facebook, where she shares nothing but wine-mom Minion memes despite the fact that she is not a mom and has never seen any of the Despicable Me movies. The day Farmville went offline, she wept openly.
Micah also only uses Facebook. His wizard roleplay group uses it for meetings. He signs every single one of his status (“Had a lovely with my daughter today! -Micah”) and no one can convince him to stop.
George and Lance share a Facebook account and also sign every post so when the three dads start talking to each other, it's too #cringe #oldfail for anyone else to look at.
Adora banned Swift Wind from the internet because he's too gullible and has fallen for every online scam there is.
Perfuma left Twitter at her therapist's suggestion because it made her too angry. She was incapable of not trying to “patiently” explain to people why they were wrong, no matter how bad faith the argument. She was once ratioed so hard in the comments of RoudUp’s official twitter account that she started a four day flamewar that only ended when Scorpia had to physically stop her from getting into her car and hunting down the other users. These days she just looks at the pretty pictures on Pinterest and takes a deep, calming breath. Though her eye still twitches at the idea that somehow, somewhere someone is probably being wrong on the internet.
Scorpia herself was at first heartbroken when she heard about Twitter’s potential demise until Perfuma showed her that there are also cute animal accounts to follow on Tumblr and Facebook and then she was all good.
Double Trouble has said they will be going down with the ship, keeping their dozen+ different troll and sockpuppet accounts going until the very end because they enjoy the chaos.
Wrong Hordak does not use Twitter but he would love to show you this most amusing meme he found that you definitely already saw four months ago.

Flufftober Day 1
Wearing Each Other's Clothes
@flufftober
The first time Catra and Adora ended up wearing each other’s clothes was the morning after laundry day. They had a meeting with the Princess Alliance and were throwing on clothes as quickly as possible before rushing out to the council meeting room.
“Sorry, we’re late everyone. We had a late night and our alarm clock didn’t go off and well, uh sorry, what did we miss?” Adora says as she takes a seat next to Glimmer.
Adora catches Mermista and Frosta giving her weird looks but brushes it off as Glimmer catches her and Catra up.
Throughout the meeting, which Adora now knew was about planning the finishing touches on the last few of the villages that needed major helping rebuilding after the war and discussing a possible expedition into space, she noticed some of the other princesses casting glances at her. Adora did her best to focus on the meeting at hand instead of the looks.
It wasn’t until the meeting finally came to an end that Adora finally said something.
“Do have something on my face or something because I couldn’t help but feel like everyone was looking at me weird.”
Perfuma is the first to speak up. “Oh, well we didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable its just that well, um-“
“You and Catra are wearing each other’s clothes.” Mermista says interrupting Perfuma.
Adora takes a look at her top and sure enough its one of Catra’s favorite tops. She blushes at the realization. Across the table Catra is checking out her own outfit only to hide her face in her hands when she comes to the same conclusion.
“If it helps you both look great.” Scorpia says smiling brightly doing her best impression of a thumbs up with her pincers.
“Thanks Scorpia.” Catra says bringing her hands down from her face and returning a small smile.
“You really didn’t notice until now?” Glimmer asks.
Catra shakes her head. “No, like Adora said we were in a rush. I mean I had voted to just sleep in, but Adora was the one who said we should come.”
“Don’t feel bad. Me and Spinny have done the same thing on multiple occasions. No need to feel embarrassed.” Netossa says looking over at Adora who’s still as red as a tomato.
“Yeah, even me and Bow have done it from time to time. I mean usually its just me stealing one of his shirts to sleep in, but there’s been a few times that Bow has somehow managed to fit into my clothes.”
After a few more minutes the meeting comes to an official close and everyone is dismissed. Adora is still trying to shake off the embarrassment from the wardrobe mishap as she and Catra make their way to their room.
Adora is pulled out of her thoughts when Catra nudges her shoulder. She watches as Catra moves in front of her walking backwards.
“You know I can’t say I’m to mad at this clothing mishap.” Catra says with hint of mirth.
“Why not?” Adora cocks her head to the side, furrowing her brow.
“I found out something really important this morning?”
“And what’s that?”
“I really like how you look in my clothes. If I’m being honest I don’t know whether to be impressed or jealous.”
Adora stops in her tracks surprised by Catra’s words. “Really?”
“Yeah, really.” Catra takes hold of Adora’s hands “I mean I always think that you look beautiful, but seeing you wearing my clothes well I don’t even have words to describe how good I think you look right now.”
“Thanks Catra. I like seeing you wearing my clothes too. Like a lot. I still can’t believe that it took Mermista pointing it out for us to notice.”
“Yeah, but well let’s just blame that on our mutual sleep deprivation.”
“Great idea.” Adora leans down and gently catches Catra’s lips. “Come on lets go eat.”
“I thought you wanted to get changed first.”
“Not anymore. You’re right we look great in each other’s clothes and everyone else got the chance to enjoy the view. We might as well take a chance to do the same thing for ourselves.”
As Adora and Catra walked to the kitchen Adora caught a glimpse of her and her girlfriend side by side. Scorpia was right they do look great.

More Bat adora and her papa please, just to tied us over while you are making the story.
@thehumminbrawler So this actually inspired me to write a like ficlet oneshot. ^^; May be out-of-continuity with the mainline AU, but was neat to put it down and I kinda just needed to put it down due to some stuff going IRL right now, I'm like coping with fandom even more right now.
Notes: While spacebat!Adora was a baby, Shadow Weaver tried to kidnap her and take over the Etherian Horde. Hordak managed to protect Adora, escaping with her and Imp as well as those that remained loyal to him/didn't want to follow SW, while SW took over the Fright Zone and created the Shadow Horde. Hordak and co.--pretty much now the Renegade Horde--fled to the Crimson Waste, and their presence started to stabilize the region. The Renegade Horde fights more with the Shadow Horde now, and tries to negotiate for allies more. The Renegade Horde has an ongoing and tense negotiation effort with the Royal Alliance against the Shadow Horde. The Valley refers to the Valley of the Lost, still a major settlement in the Crimson Waste and now more of a bustling center of commerce and community. Just quickly named Dryl Baker "Bekka." Due to Hordak's background of being surrounded by brothers as his own family and society, he perceives Adora and Imp as his younger siblings, but after Later Events he'll start exploring the terms of 'parent-child' and may think that fits their relationship better. (It's an AU Prime in this though the differences don't really come into play here.) There is a little Entrapdak.
Fic under the cut:
following his brothers while sneaking glances out the window at all the stars
all four eyes bearing down on him and pinning him in place
futilely holding a dying brother's hand on the battlefield
"--well I'm very happy you've got it all figured out, Imp." Hordak's ears twitched at his younger sister's grumbling, making his heart slow down. He clung to the sound of her voice, a refuge from nightmares and poor memories even if she obviously sounded irritated, though with an edge of self-reproach. The elder clone began to gingerly sit up, monitoring himself while slipping off the blanket. What could his younger siblings be squabbling over? What could be troubling Adora? How long had he slept?
Fortunately Hordak hadn't fainted, but he had felt weaker, tired earlier--enough so that Adora and Imp caught him and made him lie down and rest. As they had gotten older, his younger siblings had a habit of ganging up on him when they put their mind to it, and their teamwork always proved to be formidable. But Hordak had planned to search for some materials down in the Valley today, and he still saw no reason why he couldn't do so. He felt groggy, but also like some of his energy had been replenished. Adora's reasoning and Imp's insistence that he should rest had been sound.
Imp gave a warning screech, clearly spotting him, and Adora was immediately at his side. Though still...wobbly, irritation didn't flash through Hordak (he was getting better at accepting help from those he cared about). Instead, a fond smile slipped onto his face at his sister's presence. But when he caught her eye, his smile faltered slightly. They were blue and alive with concern--but he again stumbled on the dark slit pupils she had been blessed to inherit from their oldest brother and genetic template. Blessed. She had been blessed...it was his own weakness and cowardice that made him unsettled sometimes. But these were rare flashes for the differences always asserted themselves--Adora's eyes were a bright blue just like her fangs, and more significantly they were always warm and open, she had not the necessary detachment of Horde Prime. (And yet it had been a long time since Hordak had talked about Horde Prime with either Adora or Imp.)
Hordak felt his own self-reproach cloud his mind when Adora frowned, but felt it retreat when she only said that maybe he should lie back down, and asked how he felt. She apparently hadn't realized Hordak foolishly misdirected fear toward her eyes and the unintended offense. Adora had thought his faltering smile and proverbial wince was due to his physical weakness, not his mental one. The elder clone took a breath and shook his head. "I'm fine, Sister. I've rested enough--" Adora glared, and her ears gave a warning flick. "You shouldn't go to town today--" Hordak opened his mouth, then his eyes landed on a tray of tiny soup mugs. He decided to switch tactics. Sometimes it was necessary in the face of Adora's determination. "Entrapta made soup?" It wasn't really a question, and he reached out a talon for a mug. Though he hadn't seen her before Adora and Imp had convinced him to rest, he assumed his partner must've come while he slept, made something for when he awoke, then took her leave. They were all busy with impending negotiations and the...local customs that were apparently necessary. (He still didn't understand "parties," while Adora tackled them with dedication, almost always open to finding the value in anything.) Imp passed him a mug, and Adora absently nodded. "Yeah, she came while you were out and whipped them up." Then she shook her head, re-focusing. "She said--"
"--tell Hordak to feel better and sorry I couldn't stay, Cobalt needed some time-sensitive wrangling with the delegation from Thaymor--but I'll be back later tonight!" Entrapta's recording filtered out once Imp opened his mouth. Hordak smiled at her bright voice. Adora laughed and rubbed the back of her neck. "Right, that. Thanks Imp." She slid the tray of soup closer to Hordak, where it had been placed on a small table next to his bed. "You like it? Entrapta said she tried something different, added a new herb or something that Bekka told her about," his sister remarked, and Hordak nodded around a sip. Then Adora's ears snapped down, nearly horizontal, and her eyes narrowed. "Eating your soup doesn't mean you should go out right now." "I'll have been fed and rested," Hordak pointed out after finishing his second mug. Adora's ears pricked up to their usual stance, and her eyes were no longer narrowed. "Hordak, I can just go into town for you--" His sister was apparently trying to change tactics too. The elder clone shook his head. "I am looking through updated inventory, not picking up something I know they already have." He downed another mug of soup. "If you just described what you're looking for--" "It's not that simple, it's..." Hordak shook his head. "It would be easier if I did it myself." "...You're just browsing, aren't you?" Hordak nodded, realizing Adora had articulated what he meant. "Yes, that." His sister blew out a frustrated breath, her ears giving an irritated flick. But she still didn't look convinced. "You can always accompany me to the Valley," Hordak finally said after he emptied another mug. Usually Adora loved exploring the merchants' wares in the Valley markets; it was what he had come to learn was called a "hobby." "My formal dress got wrecked when the Shadow Horde tried to kidnap Prince Peekablue." Adora's disappointed voice crackled out as Imp played the recording, while the present Adora's ears pricked up in surprise. "We can look for something new for you in town," Hordak added, seizing on Imp's opening. Adora's eyes darted between her brothers, frowning. Imp looked smug and far too satisfied, while Hordak tried not to grin at his younger brother's demeanor. Hordak and Imp could form their own effective team as well. Adora shook her head, but hesitantly. "That's fine, there's still time before the talks and the delegates' ball, I can go when you're feeling better--" "I feel better now," Hordak insisted. Imp chittered cajolingly as he climbed up on his shoulder, but Adora favored her fellow hybrid brother with a glare. "Backstabber," she grumbled at Imp, who just chirped teasingly. Then their sister rolled her eyes. "Fiiiine." Imp theatrically scrunched up his face in faux disgust, then played back a recording of one of Princess Mermista's signature groans. "Woah no, I'm not--don't even joke about that--" Adora snapped with wide, alarmed eyes while Imp snickered and Hordak slid a hand over his growing smile. ___ Since the fracture of the Etherian Horde and their exile into the Crimson Waste, the desert region had been changing with the influx of now branded Renegade Horde members who rejected Shadow Weaver's command. The place had become more stable, and in that stability it had found a new profitability in more consistent commerce. After examining scrap yards and mechanics for new goods and finding some promising materials that went straight into Adora's shopping pack--she refused to let Hordak carry anything, and Hordak refrained from resisting as long as she agreed to let him carry whatever new dress she picked--they went to the merchants selling various garments and accessories. Adora tried to efficiently and quickly select something, and while Hordak could see her reasoning, he instead told her that she could spend more time looking. "You normally enjoy the markets," he pointed out to her. Hordak still had mixed feelings on the place, which was especially dependent on how tolerable the crowds were. But he felt satisfied when he found particularly useful tools or supplies there; he enjoyed it more when he hunted for supplies with Entrapta and shared conversation with her; it brightened his mood when he watched Adora bounce happily between the stalls and eagerly browse while Imp flew around her head, orbiting her like a moon.
His sister sighed. Imp plopped on her head, pouting, and Adora stumbled a little under the sudden weight of him. She frowned and glared up at the boy, but then stared back at Hordak. "Yeah, but--" "I'm fine, Adora," Hordak repeated. Then he hesitated, and continued, "We...could use a break, and that can take the form of an afternoon in the market stalls." It was difficult to learn, but Hordak had been learning. He had been learning from his younger siblings, when he found he liked letting them play, and continued to desire seeing them enjoy themselves when they could. He had learned from Cobalt, Grizzlor, and Octavia once he realized he could trust them more. He had learned from Entrapta... (Hordak tried not to think of his oldest brother wreathed in light and consumed with purpose.) Adora blinked, and gave a soft smile. Then she giggled as Imp mussed up her snow white hair, and Hordak led them to the dried fruit stall they all favored. ___ Adora examined various dresses and talked to some eager-to-sell merchants while her brothers stood back. Imp ate the last of the dried apricots while he sat on Hordak's shoulder, and though the risk was minimal, Hordak wanted to ensure he did not make a mess on the shop's inventory. When Imp finished, Hordak nodded to him, quietly giving permission, and the boy immediately launched himself off and flitted around Adora's head. Locals used to Imp were able to mind the boy's flight path.
"Hey, Hordak, you already have an outfit picked out like Imp and Entrapta, right?" Adora called out from behind a shelf of scarves and jewelry, with only the tips of her ears poking out. And then they ducked out of sight while she was clearly on the search for something, or examining something more closely.
"Yes," Hordak said, while he glared at Imp and gave a warning flick of his ears when the boy started playing with a scarf, wrapping it too fast and roughly around his body. The boy stuck out his tongue, but began to disentangle himself.
"Okay, so I'm looking for a dress, but I thought I could accessorize too because something just caught my eye--but maybe I should find a dress first--but this accessory could help me narrow down on a dress that could pair well with it--"
Hordak actually felt the urge to laugh, but he fought it down and only allowed himself a smile. (But he questioned himself--why not laugh, a chuckle in the Valley's bustling market would not be out of place--the silence of his brothers while on guard shift, four eyes staring down--but he had already broken so many edicts--the cold click of a talon guard--)
"Are you asking for input, or brainstorming?" Hordak asked, shoving back thoughts of his original home away. It was a question he had asked Adora before, wishing to determine when she wanted his thoughts or when she wanted someone to just listen.
"Brainstorming! And I'm also prepping you because I want to show you and see what you think, and I think I found something you might like too--" And then Adora stepped out and gestured to her ears with a smile.
Hordak looked, and he felt something rise up in his throat, and he hated himself. The metal clasps wrapped around Adora's ears were bronze and they didn't even reach the tips of her ears--but in his mind's eye he saw Prime and silver clasps perfectly fitted to his ears, and the dark slit pupils of Adora's bright blue eyes were swallowed up by vivid green and lacking in all warmth...
"Brother--?"
Hordak flinched, his eyes squeezed shut. And then it registered with him that it had been Adora's voice filled with concern, obviously not Prime's. His self-loathing grew. He opened his eyes just in time to see Adora close the gap and lay a supporting talon on his arm, clearly worried he might stumble. Imp clung to her shoulder, with part of the scarf he had been playing with still wrapped around one of his arms.
"Hey, are you okay? Do you need to sit down?"
"I...yes, I just need to take a seat," Hordak said, thinking pretending he had felt a little faint was better than admitting to the awful and confusing thoughts that plagued him. Adora promptly and politely asked the merchant's assistant if they had a stool, and he immediately provided one.
Adora thanked the assistant, then looped an arm around Hordak's, clearly wanting to help him sit. Normally he would've resisted, he would've insisted that he could sit by himself at least, but shame and guilt made him comply. But then he saw in his sister's face that his easy compliance had not been reassuring to her.
"When you're ready, we can go back--"
Hordak shook his head while Imp switched to his shoulder. "I'm fine now; I can wait here while you find your dress." Avoiding her concerned look, Hordak unwrapped the final piece of scarf away from Imp, then carefully began rolling it up.
The elder clone glanced up at Adora's ears--now dipped low with worry, he noted with another stab of guilt--and forced himself to review the new accessory by its own merit. Despite his efforts, he felt it still looked eerily similar to Prime's; but its bronze material seemed to go well with the reds Adora tended to favor.
His ears flicked in the direction of her new jewelry. "Their color suits you," he murmured with muted but genuine fondness. This was his sister, her own...truly her own person. Her capacity for mercy marked her as distinct.
Adora's ears pricked up, and she ran a talon self-consciously across the length of a clasp adorning one of them. "You really think so?"
"Of course."
She smiled softly back. Then she startled, as if remembering something. She raised her other talon, closed in a fist. "This is the, um, thing I thought you might like." She unfurled her fist and let a single, red diamond earring dangle from her carefully pinched, taloned fingers. "I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be by itself for an asymmetrical look--at least that's what the note next to it said--"
When Hordak reached out a talon, Adora dropped it in his waiting palm. He rubbed a thumb over its surface, still warm from his sister's touch.
"It's exquisite," Hordak said, and Adora softly chuckled, pleased. Then after again asking Hordak if he was fine and Hordak again insisting he was, Adora went back to looking. Soon she amassed a pile of clothes and claimed one of the dressing stalls. By the time she came out wearing the first dress, Imp was settled in Hordak's lap, and Hordak had tried on the red diamond earring.
"Too long," Adora muttered. She went back in, and came out again in a new dress.
"Too much...um, ruffles?"
Dress number three. "This color's not working."
Back in, back out. "The embroidery's kinda too much."
Next. "Okay guys, what do you think of--?"
"You look like you got run over by a tank." Imp used a recording of Grizzlor's voice, and Hordak gave a scolding hiss.
With a flush running across both her ears and cheeks, Adora immediately ran back into the stall and snapped the curtain behind her. Imp glanced up at Hordak with a guilty look, realizing his joking had gone too far. "You will apologize to her later," he told Imp with a glare.
"Um, so I actually like...kinda like this one..." Adora's voice filtered out from behind the curtain of the stall, and the hesitancy in her voice made Imp's ears lower even more, and Hordak did not relent in the glare he favored him with. "But I dunno, it's...well, look--"
And Adora stepped out, with one talon gripping her other arm while her cheeks and the tips of her ears still flushed blue. Adora favored red, and all of the dresses she had tried on were different shades of it, but this one was the right sort of crimson that went well enough with her blue skin. The cut of it was simple, from its torso to the way the edge of its skirt flared out, but the structure of it suited Adora in his mind. Its belt was just as simple, and with an amber color that paired well with her bronze ear clasps.
"It's kinda basic, but..."
"You look lovely, Adora," Hordak said, and his sister's ears perked up.
"Beautiful." Imp conveyed with a recorded excerpt of Entrapta's voice.
Adora smiled, her blue fangs beaming.

random challenge for you-write the fluffiest thing you can handle >:)
Adora wasn’t alone in bed.
That wasn’t... so unusual. In fact she had gotten quite used to waking up with a furry body pressed against hers, legs tangled together, bodies melded in a way that made it hard to tell where one ended and the other began.
But there was definitely not supposed to be anyone in bed with her this morning. It was no surprise that Catra could sneak into bed and into Adora’s arms without waking her up.
“How did you get in here?” she murmured into the mane of hair tickling her face.
“Scaled the palace.”
Adora snorted, wrapping an arm around Catra to hold her close. “Did you miss me?”
“No.I just missed leeching off your body heat.”
“Riiiiiiiiiiiight.”
Catra slapped Adora’s leg with her tail. “Got any plans today?”
Adora hummed, pretending to think. “Well I’ve got this one thing... pretty big.”
“Oh yeah? Blow it off.”
“I can’t. A certain someone might be mad.”
“Is it Glimmer?”
“It’s totally Glimmer.”
They both laughed, cuddling closer to each other. The sun was just beginning to rise; they probably had a few hours before the queen started to hunt them down. Adora was perfectly content to just lie there in bed, snuggling with Catra. That was a great way to spend an entire day, really. But they did have plans...
“Sure I can’t convince you to run away with me?” Catra asked, fingers playing with Adora’s hair.
“You’re such a bad influence.”
“Gotta live up to that reputation everyone’s given me, right?”
Catra was purring loudly, vibrating against Adora’s chest. Adora laughed, kissing the top of her head. “I dunno how to break this to you, but the entire Princess Alliance has scratched your ears and seen you cuddle in my lap. You do not have a reputation.”
“Shut up, I’m still scary.”
She said while burying her face in Adora’s night-shirt, tail wrapping around her leg. “Right, of course. You’re absolutely terrifying.” She scratched Catra’s ears, earning herself a pleased hum.
“Yup, that’s me. The most terrifying person you’ll ever meet.”
A loud series of knocks at the door shattered their tranquility. “Adora!” Glimmer, of course. It was amazing how tiny fists could be so loud. “Catra either got cold feet or snuck into your bed and it better be the first one!”
Snuggle time over. “Come on, Sparkles!” Catra called back, sitting up. “This whole thing was stupid anyway.”
Glimmer appeared next to the bed, hands on her hips. “Twenty-four hours! Was that too much to ask?”
“Frankly, yes.”
Glimmer let out a long groan that Mermista would’ve been proud of, and grabbed Catra’s arm. “I asked you to do one thing-”
“You’ve definitely asked us to do more than one thing.”
“Hey, who’s in charge of doing your hair again?”
Catra’s eyes narrowed. “You wouldn’t.”
“I’m just saying, scissors slip and whoops-”
“I will break Bow’s bow over my knee while he watches.”
“Wait, why are you going after Bow?” Glimmer demanded, confused.
“Because anything that would hurt you involves, at the very least, beating your entire army and taking over the palace, and I just don’t have time for that right now.”
“Both of you go.” Adora shoved them, laughing. “And please don’t mess up her hair, I like it.”
“Fiiiiiiiiiiine.” Glimmer sighed. “For you.”
Catra threw a smirk at Adora. “See you later?”
“If I can find you,” Adora teased.
“I’ll be the one in the dashing tux waiting at the end of the aisle for you.”
“Got it.”
“You’re both the worst.” Glimmer rolled her eyes before teleporting away with Catra.

2021 Entrapdak Positivity Month: #01 Stars
A/N: consider this a gift to @flippingfrogg for inspiring me with their beautiful artwork, I hope you enjoy it! If so let me know and I'll consider continuing this series! <3
Life was not easy when work had to be done and people had to be pleased. Entrapta was stressed. The princesses wanted to get together at a party, and while she had no trouble attending one at times, especially to collect data of the interactions and to get the chance to enjoy a tiny mug of hot chocolate this was different.
She had been busy exploring the temples of the first ones for weeks, maybe even months, being so indulged in her studies she barely noticed the time flying by, and much less how the resentment of the other princesses grew towards her for not attending any social events.
The purple haired woman sighed, taking off her greasy gloves to replace them with new clean ones. She had no issue with getting dirty, certainly, but someone else sure did. The familiar grown of the Sea-Princess was something she heard miles away.
»Ughhh, I’m telling you guys, there’s no point. Geek-Princess won’t be attending, and honestly? I think that isn’t so bad either.«
»Mermista, stop.« It was the She-Ras voice. Adoras.
»Entrapta is our friend. She is also busy. We can’t expect her to drop everything just because we want to party. Sure, things have been going great for us lately, but the only reason I want Entrapta to attend is because I thought she might relax. If she has other ways of taking her time off, that’s great too! Whatever works for her, you know?«
»Yeah, whatever.« Silence.
Entrapta could not help but smile. Wider than usual. Listening to peoples chatter was always fascinating, she heard a lot more things than others gave her credit for. However, she discovered that hearing nice things about oneself when no one knew she could hear them felt especially good. Hearing Adora stick up for her was nice. It wasn’t that she disliked the other princesses, she actually felt very neutral about them, aside from Scorpia and Adora, it was just that she also did not consider them her friends. They were… Acquaintances at best. But she did not mind either.
Adora entered the room along with Mermista.
»Hey Entrapta! We uh— well we wanted to see how you were holding up and well, we wanted to invite you to a slumber party! Scorpia will be there!« Adoras smile seemed genuine, there was no annoyance or frustration in her eyes.
»I can’t.« Mermista groaned. Adora looked at the princess with disapproval which made her stop.
»You see, I’m almost having a breakthrough over here! I might be able to contact a creature the first ones considered a godly threat!«
»That’s uh— That’s nice Entrapta.« Adora was aware of how bad that sounded but… Once she made an effort to understand Entrapta, mainly with Scorpias help, she realised that Entrapta did not only care about science like others assumed. She was just very fixated on tasks that needed to be done, but would never endanger her friends.
»Well, I hope your project turns out successful, hm? Contact us if you need anything! I’ll be there immediately.« And Entrapta knew that she would stay true to her word.
»Thank you, Adora. It means a lot to me.« She waved them goodbye as they left her in the big, empty temple that once was used to worship a long forgotten deity.
Entrapta was certain, today was the day. She would make significant progress on her attempts. If only to prove that she could. She relaxed her shoulders, yawning and stretching her body to get rid of the exhaustion. Just one more crystal in place, and she was good to go. As the blue stone was placed on the altar that was build for it, it started glowing. By now night had fallen, so the temple that had been illuminated must've been visible miles away.
»Who dares to enter my sanctuary?!« A man’s voice growled through the hall, making the entire room rumble dangerously. Entraptas body was tense, not because she was scared, she was excited. It finally worked!
»Me! I mean, uhm— Me, God! My name is Entrapta, I am a scientist and—»
»Enough! Spare me your foolish chatter mortal! State your purpose!« The voice was still loud. Entrapta covered her ears.
»Well first of all: There is no reason to yell, see, I can hear you just fine. And second of all: I came because I wanted to meet you for so long!« Silence. Entrapta felt her hands shaking. The voice sounded a lot quieter the next time she heard it. Almost unsure.
»You wanted to meet me? For what purpose?« Entrapta nodded, not even knowing if the other being could see her since, well, she couldn’t see him either.
»Mainly for science!« It was quiet, so the woman kept talking:»You see, I have read so much about you! Not enough though, so I decided to contact you myself and ask about all the things that were written about you! You’re Hordak, the god of the stars, travel and technology right!? As a scientist I—« The next time she heard his voice it sounded rather pitiful.
»Leave then. I have nothing more to offer you. Your ancestors took everything they could, and left me with nothing, marking me as a beast that had to be sealed away once I was no longer useful.« Entrapta took a minute to understand what the god was telling her, but once it settled in, the excitement vanished. Not because she was asked to leave, well not mainly. It was because she knew that pain way too well. It made her sit down, her legs crossed.
»Want to talk about it?« Deafening silence.
»Are you mocking my pain, scientist?«
»No. I just wanted to reach for the stars and see the universe up close, but… Not if that means making you hurt.«
A pale figure seemed to appear at the altar. It was a blue haired creature with red intense eyes.
»That is rather curious…« Red robes were seemingly floating along the creatures body, covering the parts most etherians would consider indecent, the rest of the blue-ish skin was ever so visible.
»Why are you not running away? Are you not repulsed?«
»No.« She answered him honestly, and she could tell he liked that.
»So… You do want to talk about it. Care for a cup of hot chocolate? I should still have some left in my belongings!« The long blue hair fell upon his chest like a waterfall, when he tilted his head.
»I am curious about your hot chocolate.« He then admitted, slowly walking over to where she was sitting, though to her it seemed more like floating, before he sat down across from her.
Entraptas hair grabbed all the supplies needed.
»Great! Here you go, Hordak!« As she extended her hair that was holding the cup, the god took it, holding it ever so gently, that it made Entrapta think
he’s as fragile as a star, and desperately needs someone who admires him nonetheless.
As he took a sip, his pointy ears seemed to relax downwards, which made her smile a bit. Then he cleared his throat.
»You wanted to know about the stars, yes?«

She-Ra S5 E08 - Shot in the Dark
There might be spoilers for the rest of the season in this post!
I absolutely LOVE this episode, and at first, I couldn’t really put my finger on why I liked it that much. And then Noelle tweeted this:
And yeah, that’s what it boils down to. This is the first *happy* Catra episode since... basically since “Once Upon a Time in the Waste” - and back then, the happiness didn’t last long.
(I also just think that story of AJ being so worried about Catra and Noelle reassuring her with every script is so adorable. I love to see how much they all care about these characters.)
Now let’s get into the episode!
- “Why does space hate me so much?” Yeah Glimmer, as I’ve said before, your powers don’t work in space because otherwise things would be way too easy and this show would be over way too quickly.
- “So, your plan is to, what? Ram through an armada of ships?” “No! ...Maybe!” 😂 I love Adora.
- The way Catra’s hands are shaking when she tells Adora they’re going to get caught... oh, baby 😢. And how Adora suddenly looks so worried... gosh, these two.
- Catra and Adora playfully arguing over whether or not Catra ‘defeated’ them in the past is so cute. I love this kind of ‘former enemies’ bickering and it’s why I was so glad they didn’t wait until the very end of the show to redeem Catra.
Bow: “Adora, Catra’s right.”
[Everyone’s eyes go wide.]
Bow: ... “That felt weird to say.”
😂 Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Bring on all the ‘former enemies’ bickering, please!
- So, is this just because Wrong Hordak’s “brains were scrambled”, as Bow put it, or do all the clones randomly blurt out that Horde Prime has a weakness whenever they hear someone ask about it? I’m going to assume it’s the former. Also, the way he keeps blurting out more and then denying that Krytis exists is super funny.
- I like how they set Krytis up before with Catra having visions of it back in Taking Control - still pretty convenient that just hearing the name lets her make the connection, but I’ll take it. (Is it meant to be some lingering effect of being connected to the hivemind that she’s having visions of it again now, or is it just her remembering what she saw before?)
- I love the detail that Darla’s information on Krytis is locked and they need administrator clearance to access it. Shows again that the First Ones aren’t that different from Horde Prime - they were also ashamed of their failure to conquer Krytis and tried to hide the information on it.
- “In- In- In- Incorrect. It is located nowhere, because it does not exist, because Lord Prime destroyed it.” I honestly think this line should be a meme. When you want to hide something from someone (but you know it does exist), just quote that exact line (kind of like “There is no war in Ba Sing Se”). I once said it to my sisters when they asked about certain fanfics I wrote as a teenager. (“Nope, they are located nowhere, because they do not exist, because Lord Prime destroyed them.”)
- Changes in the opening: Micah, Spinnerella, Scorpia and Mermista are now standing mind-controlled around the Heart of Etheria in the villains’ shot. They’re also all missing from the final heroes’ card. In that final shot, Perfuma and Sea-Hawk both look sad now, and Netossa looks angry.
- Catra touching her neck when she sees the spire on Krytis... 😢. I’m here for the angst, but I also just need Catra to get lots of love and comfort after everything she’s been through.
- Can we talk about how absolutely ADORABLE her space suit is, though? Bow is absolutely right to coo over those ears. And when she tries to take it off with her foot? And Adora laughs about it? And Catra smiles when she sees her laugh? ❤️❤️❤️
- Wrong Hordak still denying that Krytis exists while currently being on Krytis is absolutely hilarious to me. It reminds me of flat-earthers or anti-vaxxers, or people who try to deny Covid exists (while others are currently dying from Covid) - not that any of those are funny, of course. I just mean that wrong Hordak nicely demonstrates how ridiculous they can sound.
- Catra calling out the Best Friend Squad on how dumb their plan is and then reacting with “Honestly, what did I expect?” is absolutely iconic. They really were missing her as the team’s braincell all along.
- Bow and Glimmer teasing Catra about her “first mission”, Catra grumbling that she’s going to kill Adora’s friends, Adora responding with a really calm “Please don’t” - everything about this is perfect. 🤣
- Also, small detail, but I love how Catra has a hard time walking in her spacesuit because she’s not used to wearing shoes.
- The remaining rebels looking around the destroyed camp is really sad. Frosta immediately trapping Castaspella in ice and checking her neck is great, though. That’s what they should have been doing all along. Why didn’t they also check Shadow Weaver’s neck, though? I know she’s intimidating and all, but there was no way of knowing if she’s chipped.
- “How did the rebellion lose so many of our finest members and yet we’re still stuck with you?” Castaspella’s asking the real questions! I like how literally no one in the rebellion likes Shadow Weaver. (Though honestly, I’m also glad she’s not chipped. Imagine how hard fighting a chipped Shadow Weaver would have been.)
- “But if you try anything, I won’t hesitate to strike you down.” Castaspella said ‘I won’t hesitate, b*tch!’
- Every single part of Wrong Hordak’s existential crisis (and Entrapta’s handling of it) is absolutely hilarious. I’m not going to quote all of it here, but pretty much every line of it is comedy gold. My favourite moment is probably “It seems Wrong Hordak has begun to question the meaning of life” (and everyone’s annoyed expressions at his crying) 😂😂. (On a more serious note, though: As much as it’s played for laughs, Wrong Hordak turning his entire worldview around in such a short amount of time is also pretty epic.)
- Catra just cutting through that door - damn, she’s strong! And I love Adora’s blush! (Yeah, the door was probably just an illusion, but my point still stands. She’s at least strong enough that it doesn’t seem completely weird that she'd be able to just cut through a door like that.)
- “You have an arrow that turns into a magnifying glass? I can’t believe we were losing to you guys.” 🤣🤣 Catra realizing the people she was fighting are actually idiots will never not be funny.
- It goes hand in hand with Bow realizing Catra is actually a cute kitty with an adorable sneeze. Good stuff. And the way her tail gets fluffy when she insists she’s not cute? D’awww. (Bow saying “The angrier you get, the cuter you are” reminded me of that scene in Steven Universe where Peridot loses her limb-enhances at the beginning of her redemption arc and Steven calls her cute and “an angry little slice of pie”.)
- Castaspella’s cape getting stuck in tree branches and the like is pretty funny, ngl. This is why Edna Mode said “No capes”.
- Shadow Weaver saying that her gifts are “far subtler” than mind-control is very fitting. Her thing is manipulation, after all. She doesn’t need to control people’s minds when she can just manipulate them and raise them in a way that’ll make them do what she wants. It’s scarier than mind-control in a way because it’s far more realistic. Mind-control doesn’t exist in real life, but manipulative parents (or just manipulative people) who will mess someone up emotionally? Very realistic.
- I like that you can tell that something’s off about Entrapta’s voice this time if you pay attention to it.
- “Seriously? How have you guys stayed alive this long?” Yup, the people you were fighting are idiots and you’re the braincell of the team now, Catra.
- I love the creepy music when Entrapta tells them it’s the first time they’ve talked since the last floor.
- Also, I love how Catra’s first instinct is to just launch herself at Melog, even though you could tell she was terrified just a moment earlier.
- I really like the moment where Glimmer realizes there’s magic on Krytis, especially since she doesn’t have her other powers right now.
- Melog bonds with Catra because they have the same sneeze ❤️❤️
- “Are you... are you petting the thing that’s been trying to kill us?” I love this whole moment 😹. I also love how Adora is so protective of Catra and immediately yells “Get away from her!” when Melog seems to get angry.
Catra: “I’m sorry. I got angry. It’s something I’m working on.”
Adora [with sparkling eyes]: “Aww, you are?”
Catra: “Yes! Now can you please...” [deep breath] “Yes. I am.”
I love everything about this. Catra genuinely working on her anger issues, Adora being so touched about it (remember back in Taking Control where she wished that Catra would ‘at least try’?), Catra having to hold back her anger because she realized Melog responds to emotions - perfect. ❤️😂👍
- Catra is so sweet when she calms Melog down. And the moment where they form their bond is really nice.
- So, can Catra understand Melog because of their bond, or because they’re both cats? I’m assuming it’s because of their bond?
- Melog’s backstory is really sad. But Adora offering to take them to Etheria is a really sweet scene.
- I like the parallel between the Best Friend Squad realizing that magic is Horde Prime’s weakness (and that the only planet he ever failed to conquer had wild magic) and Shadow Weaver telling Castaspella that the First Ones weakened Etheria’s magic and they have to set it free.
- “Stop me if I try to take the power for myself.” I’m not sure how I feel about that line. I like how SPOP has very much written Shadow Weaver as ambiguous so far. She’s not a good or nice person by any means, but is she at least on the side of the good guys and really trying to help now or is she still only after her own selfish goals? I very much did not want Shadow Weaver to get any sort of redemption or forgiveness, and I’ve always interpreted her as still being power-hungry. So, I have mixed feelings about this line. I like that it canonically acknowledges that Shadow Weaver is still tempted by power and might actually try to take the magic for herself, but asking Castaspella to stop her if she tries makes her look more selfless and like she’s taking precautions against it. (But then again, could Castaspella even stop her if she tried? I’m pretty sure Shadow Weaver is the stronger one of the two. So, you could still read this as Shadow Weaver being a master manipulator and only saying this so Castaspella will feel more inclined to trust her and go along with her plan - while knowing full-well that she could easily defeat Castaspella if it ever actually came down to it.)
Glimmer: “So, just to make sure I get it - We’re going to go running through a Horde blockade while relying on the magic of a creature we just met?”
Catra: “That about sums it up, yes.”
You know what this means - Catra’s a part of the Squad now!
- “Punch it, Darla!” I still love that the ship’s name is Darla. Also, all of their expressions when they fly through the blockade should be a “draw the squad” meme.
- Catra holding Adora’s hand and getting embarassed about it ❤️❤️ (while Adora is dumb and doesn’t even notice).
- I did not expect us to get a Glitra cheek kiss this season, but I’m not complaining! Also, Catra complaining while Glimmer and Bow are hugging her is such a cat thing; I love it.
- “We made it. We’re home.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is actually the first episode this season that ends on a happy / hopeful note and not on some kind of cliffhanger. And I really like that. This is where the “space arc” of season 5 offically comes to and end and I’m glad it has its own little happy ending. (And as much as I like the final episodes of the season, the space arc is still probably my favourite half of it.)
I love this episode, mainly because of what it means for Catra. She’s finally happy, she saved the day, she’s bonding with Bow and Glimmer and constantly flirting with Adora, and she has an amazing therapy cat now! I loved all the bickering between her and the others and how she’s starting to open up to them. Also, Wrong Hordak was absolutely hilarious in this episode and I commend Entrapta for having the patience to deal with his existential crisis. This was a really nice way to wrap the space arc up and bring the Squad back to Etheria.

Where Do We Go Now?
A She-ra: Princess of Power 2018 fanfiction
The war is finally over. Prime is dead, the hive mind is broken, and everyone is reunited with their loved ones. However, there are some questions left unanswered. What will be the fate of Catra and Hordak? What are these new memories Wrong Hordak has? What is Etheria's place in the wider universe? Where do we go now?

Yay, more beating around the bush!
TW: Blood, Bandages

Chapter 21: Secrets Left Unsaid
Everyone stood still and stared at Hordak. He was looking at the ground with a blank expression; green blood dripped out of his fists and onto the floor. In his mind, time had stopped, and the only emotion he felt was panic. No one was supposed to know. It was to be swept under the rug and never spoken of.
“Hordak?” Entrapta wrapped her gloved hands around his bicep.
“I apologize,” he undid Entrapta’s hold of him, “I will be on the ship.”
“Oh no. With that reaction, you’re going to tell us what happened!” Mermista stood in front of him, impatiently waiting for an answer.
“It’s irrelevant information.” He attempted to walk away, but he was pulled back by the tug of an overall strap.
“If it’s so irrelevant, why don’t you tell us?”
“BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO!” he roared, baring his teeth. His eyes were fearful, and his breath was short. Hordak stormed off into the ship leaving the stunned group of Alliance members.
___________________________________________________
Hordak had locked himself into his bedroom in Dryl, wrapping his hands in white bandages stained green from his blood. Why did I react like that? A million other responses floated in his head. He could have given any other excuse, but no. He had to act irrationally. His father’s voice materialized in his subconscious: Those foolish flights of emotion will lead to your downfall. He was right.
Why do I always have to fail at the simplest of tasks? Now, he’ll never be able to show his face to the Alliance without the immediate bombardment of questions. His brothers most likely have likely heard of what happened and ask questions. Most importantly, Entrapta will ask. While he promised to tell her he hoped she would forget and focus on other things.
Maybe I should just tell them all. Perhaps if I tell them all they will stop asking questions and hopefully not be too angry with me. In truth, he didn’t care what the princesses thought of him. Entrapta and his brothers on the other hand were a different story. They were the ones who should know, and the ones he directly lied to. He was petrified that once they were told they would be livid and yell at him and kick him out.
I deserve it.
“Hordak?”
His head whipped over to the door; his eyes burning holes into the metal. It was the voice of his beloved. She was using the door, which was odd.
“You don’t have to tell me anything. I just want to talk to you.”
Slowly, he opened the door and let her in. They sat on his bed in silence; Hordak bandaged his left hand.
“Here let me help.”
She took his left hand into her gloved hands, carefully wrapping each digit in the white gauze. Hordak looked at the ground, and his ears perked downwards.
“The princesses are upset.”
“I know.”
“Your brothers are worried.”
“I know.”
“I’m worried about you.”
“I know.” He finally looked at her. “I’m sorry.”
“Hordak, you don’t need to apologize to me, and, whatever is bothering you, you can tell it whenever you want to. Could you tell me when you want to talk about it?”
“I want to get it over with. Just tell everyone at once so the whole thing can be over quickly. So, if possible, I want the Alliance, my brothers, and you to all gather somewhere, preferably Dryl, and I will just tell the whole thing.”
“That’s doable. Would you like me to contact them and ask if they could come by… say tomorrow?”
“That will suffice.”
Entrapta finished wrapping Hordak’s hand and put away the medical kit. She ushered him to lay back on his bed. She cuddled up in the crook of his arm. The two sat in silence as the minutes ticked by.
__________________________________________________
“So explain this to me again, Adora.” Netossa shifted in her seat.
“Well, after Mermista asked why Prime had a baby crib, he flipped out and stormed off into the ship then again to the Crypto Castle.”
“Isn’t that how he usually acts,” Catra said, laying on a couch. Adora gave her a light slap of the calve.
“What, it’s true! Every time he gets mad or uncomfortable he lashes out.”
“Well, whatever upset him must be important to make him react as he did, so we should be respectful of him and not bother him about it.”
“Well, I think we should press it because if Hordak must react that way it must be a problem,” Mermista stated.
“Maybe Prime had a kid somewhere that might take revenge on us for killing his father!” Swift Wind suggested.
“Whatever the issue is, we can’t ask him now. He is emotional over this and asking a bunch of questions so soon could provoke him further causing him to never tell us what happened.” Glimmer advised.
“That might come sooner than you think.” Everyone turned their heads to Bow who held his datapad in his hand. “Entrapta says to come to the Crypto Castle tomorrow because Hordak has to tell us something.”

I lead part of EfM thing today (see earlier posts) and it went well ahhhhh thank God
and I've made my lunches for the next week!
and I'm munching on a salad
and all day I was looking forward to this, the moment I can (re)watch MORE SHE-RA
I've barely worked on my longer fic this weekend (other than copy/pasting a bunch of things Nate said after the show ended into the notes section of the doc) and tbh rewatching the ACTUAL SHOW is hella distracting bc with twenty eps left we're going to start getting into more of the really high-stakes stuff
Also, true story: I originally watched, like, the second half of season 4 and all of season 5 in two days of marathoning with Daci. So quite frankly? The last, like, third of the show is just kind of a blur to me now.
SO LET'S GO
s4 ep7 Mer-Mysteries
A mission in Dryl went badly, they've figured out someone's telling the Horde what they're doing, they're not tracking Adora because she wasn't even there--
YES
plz enjoy Sea Hawk's faces
Bow's sudden nervousness reminds me of when I was in line at the TSA in Dulles airport and was weirdly nervous. I had no reason to be nervous. AND YET. I'm usually totally fine at TSA? But the people at Dulles were scary!!!
(I was way less nervous coming back from Iceland, despite knowing I had Kinder Surprise Eggs in my suitcase. Which are actually illegal to bring into the USA. You can buy "Kinder Joy Eggs" in the USA, which do not have the toy, but the ones with the toys are against the law! Anyway I bought them for Daci. I was only nervous for a split second at customs in the USA bc they asked me what I'd brought home from Iceland and I was like...wool yarn. books. sweets (I'd also bought licorice and chocolate). But he just waved me through. WHEW.)
she's still big mad about this lolol
BUT she's right a spy IS the only thing that makes sense (but also the audience knows shit they don't)
Pearl?? A Pearl who knows too much?????
c'mon I had to
lolol they lampshaded the way lightning keeps striking when Mermista says something
to be fair she IS the most recent addition and the one they know the least
oh hey I also write everything in purple (or lavender) ink
lol
oh, shut up
well not this episode, specifically
LOLLLLL
honestly this is a lot like the DnD episode
so on the one hand, I know Flutterina is doing this to make them fight, but on the other hand Glimmer is right; on the other OTHER hand, I also would prefer a warning before being forced to see my abusive parent having free range of the castle I live in
BAHAHAHA I read Nate saying these two were interrupted on a date night, but also plz notice the colors of the flowers, it's literally most of the lesbian pride flag, they were SO unsubtle
The Ken from Plumeria is talking to the pastry chef from Dryl with the super cute outfit, and she looks bashful for a second after this screenshot; I am now shipping this and no one can stop me
speaking of ships (yes I know this isn't meant to be shippy lol)
a youtube video titled "it's raining on your window and you live in Bright Moon Castle ASMR for sleep 4 hours"
(....I'd listen to that)
(On a related note, mynoise dot net has a bunch of rain sounds on the website, and it also has an app--it's seriously the BEST website/app for ambient sounds because they're so adjustable and never repeat, and I just want everyone to know about them. The rain and ocean sounds are great on earbuds to cover up snoring so you can sleep!!! Worked better than my fancy earplugs while I was on the Camino and sleeping in all those hostels)
And back to the cartoon, where there's obviously suspicious shit happening because people seem to be in two places at once and their communications thing got shattered
oh so her name IS just The General
Flutterina (aka Double Trouble) has got to be like "oh my god wtf is up with this dude I cannot handle this bullshit"
Once again Glimmer proves that her and Catra are actually very, very alike
BUSTED
OOHHHHH they set up a trap I forgot, this is amazing
Adora: "we created a diversion :)" Glimmer: "You were a really good actress. For once."
pfft
Anyway Double Trouble is confessing the whole plan
:(
poor Mermista :(
there's a creepy-ass moment of seeing part of Horde Prime's face as he smiles, roll credits

Return of the Skeletor
A family reunion. Find more Skeletor stories here!
*
Micah remembered the other world.
Most people could, in fact. The whole planet was affected. They’d all lived a life they thought was perfect. They’d all imagined something intangible. The memories were faded and fragmentary, like the recollection of a dream, but everyone was certain it had really happened.
Even if nothing that had happened was real.
At first Micah didn’t realize anyone else had shared in the dream. He’d lost track of time on Beast Island long ago, and when the collapsing portal closed around him he only assumed it was one of the despairing wasteland’s many tricks. He never had long to dwell on the matter, either. Soon after finding himself returned to reality (he could remember shouting to Angella, reaching for her, trying to tell her “I’m not dead!”) Micah had met the loud and unusual Princess Entrapta. And after her there came…
“She-Ra! It’s She-Ra!” a nasally voice shrieked.
Micah was startled out of his reverie by a sudden clattering of hooves. The door to his Bright Moon office burst inwards and he was presented with the sight of a breathless Swift Wind. Sitting astride the rainbow-winged unicorn was one of Entrapta’s bots, a lanky drone she’d named ‘Skeletor.’
“The time has come!” Skeletor said.
“It’s true!” Swift Wind confirmed. “I felt the sacred bond return just a minute ago. Adora and the others are back from Eternia! Darla is over the Whispering Woods right now!”
“What?” Micah jumped to his feet, abandoning his desk without a second thought. It was covered in a mountain of paperwork: royal records, his regent’s duties, and the calendar pages where he’d marked off every day since Glimmer and the rest of the Princess Alliance left for their dangerous mission to another universe. He rushed to the door where Swift Wind was standing.
Skeletor reached out and helped Micah onto the horse’s back. “Join hands as we bring together our mystic powers!” the robot cried. Once Micah was settled, Swift Wind turned and leapt out the nearest window. They sailed through the skies.
“What’s going on? Are they all right?” Micah asked, with undisguised worry.
Swift Wind banked, soaring over the tree line. “I’m not sure! The ship is under control but — look, there it is!”
Darla, the rebuilt First Ones ship, was descending rapidly from the sky over the treetops. Her flight was steady, but parts of the hull were damaged, and smoke trailed from one wing. Suddenly the ship lurched and plummeted into the trees, vanishing from sight. A plume of vegetation went flying as it plowed to a smouldering stop.
Micah felt his stomach twist. “We need to get closer!” he called out in a panic.
“I can take you there!” Skeletor declared, urging Swift Wind toward the ground. They touched down by the edge of a long path of smoking destruction that stretched deep into the woods.
“They must have landed near here,” Skeletor deduced, observing the massive trench in the ground. He hopped off the horse’s back and ran ahead, making anxious utterances as he went.
Micah dismounted and walked beside Swift Wind. “I hate this,” Micah confessed. “The staying behind, I mean. At least on Beast Island I was the only one I had to worry about, and I was in control of my own survival. But having to stand by while Glimmer goes into danger? I’m so proud of her, yet I’m also so scared.”
“I know what you mean,” Swift Wind answered. “I trust Adora, but I also worry about her, like, all the time. Whenever we’re apart I get so restless. I just feel powerless!”
“Sometimes letting them find their own way is all we can do,” Micah mused.
They came into a clearing in the woods. Darla was there, sparking and steaming but generally intact. Skeletor hammered on the door.
“Here, let me try to get you out!” he called.
Something inside the ship made a noise. There was a hiss and a jet of steam, and Skeletor tumbled backwards, landing with a squawk at Micah and Swift Wind’s feet. They all stared at Darla, holding their breath expectantly.
The front hatch of the spaceship popped open. Entrapta erupted out of it, tumbling down the landing ramp in a ball of frizzled hair. She pulled her goggles up.
“Aha! We made it!” she crowed, taking in her surroundings. “All in the right dimension and everything!”
She reached into the recesses of her hair and emerged with a haggard Hordak. “Your piloting saved us! I knew you could do it!” she told him proudly.
Hordak squinted through half-lidded eyes. “Is it over?” he muttered. “Are we still alive?”
“Yep!” Entrapta wobbled to her feet and gathered her partner up in her ponytails. “Now, let’s get you a checkup and some rest. You’ve had a stressful voyage!”
She suddenly seemed to notice the gathered onlookers. “Oh! Hi Skeletor. Hi Bird Horse. Hi Micah. Guess what? You’re gonna love this!” Entrapta turned back to the ship. “Safe to disembark, crew!” she yelled, before trotting off with Hordak.
“Now we’ll see how clever you are!” Skeletor said.
Mermista peeked around the door. “Ground!” she cried, throwing herself across the dirt in relief. “I never thought I’d miss you so much!”
“Oh, it wasn’t that bad a flight,” Sea Hawk cajoled, helping her to her feet. “Why, I can think of a dozen — no, two dozen more harrowing trips I’ve taken in the Dragon’s Daughter XXVIII.”
“You fishmonger,” Skeletor scoffed.
Frosta was the next one out, followed closely by Perfuma and Scorpia. “Eternia was amazing!” the teenaged ice princess announced, brandishing a pair of frozen fists. “I got to punch so much stuff!”
“Come on, it wasn’t all violence,” Perfuma pleaded.
“Yeah, we learned a bunch about friendship and responsibility too,” Scorpia agreed.
“Punch! Punch!” Frosta said.
“You’re becoming evil, I can sense it!” Skeletor hummed approvingly. “Excellent!”
Catra and Adora came next, and they were accompanied by a young man Micah had never seen before. He had a pink shirt, bobbed blond hair, and bore an uncanny resemblance to Adora herself. A sword hung on his back. He blinked as he emerged into the light.
Swift Wind’s jaw dropped. “Adora! Is that…?”
“Hey guys!” Adora grinned sheepishly. “So, funny story. You remember how when I was a baby I was taken from a hidden First Ones faction that nobody has ever been able to find since?”
She held her hands out, presenting the newcomer. “Well, uh, we found ‘em! This is my twin brother, Adam!”
Adam smiled and waved. “Hello everybody,” he chirped.
“Brother?” Swift Wind sputtered.
“He-Man!” Skeletor bellowed.
The group fell into a chattering commotion, but Micah was hardly paying attention. Glimmer and Bow had appeared at the top of the ramp, holding each other as they looked out. Emotions that went beyond words swam in the young queen’s eyes.
Adora saw where Micah was looking and quickly pulled her brother away. “We’ll tell you the whole story later, sir! Trust me, it’s hilarious. Now come on, I gotta show you around Etheria, bro.”
“Sure thing, sis,” Adam replied, grinning hugely. They pounded their fists together, adding their own sound effects as they did so, and marched off laughing.
“They have been doing that the entire. Trip. Back,” Catra groaned, following close behind the pair. “Somebody save me.”
“You furry coward,” muttered Skeletor.
At the entrance to the ship, Glimmer and Micah hugged each other fiercely. When they finally broke, the old king could see that his daughter was smiling through her tears.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” Glimmer sniffled. “So much happened. You wouldn’t believe how scary things got! Oh, but I totally had everything under control.”
“I know you did,” Micah smiled back. But he could tell there was more.
Glimmer’s face turned serious. “Dad,” she said shakily, tripping over her own words. “Listen. Entrapta’s theories about the other dimension were right. When we — I mean, didn’t know if…”
Bow stepped in. “Your highness, I think there’s someone you should see.” He beckoned gently. Still at a loss for words, Glimmer nodded and took her father’s hand, leading him inside the ship.
Micah’s heart was racing even before she rose from the chair and turned to face him. His breath caught when he saw the spreading wings, the shining light, the smiling face that he remembered so clearly.
Their eyes met. It was a miracle.
Just like on the island, a part of him couldn’t believe this was really happening. But it was.
They both reached out. They’d mourned each other once. Their hands met.
“Micah?” she asked, hardly believing it herself.
“Angie?”
*
Outside, both the princesses and their well-wishers had gathered around Adam, excitedly showing off the wonders of their planet. He gazed with delight at everything, marveling in the magical light of Etheria. His laugh brimmed with kindness.
Skeletor elbowed his way through the crowd. “I can’t let any of you delay me! Out of my way, now!” he jabbered. “This is no time for jokes!”
He made it to where Adora stood with her brother and glared. Adam turned in surprise, not sure what to expect. They stared at each other.
Skeletor held his arms wide. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment!” he cried. “Take this, He-Man!”
Then he lunged forward, and wrapped Adam in an enormous hug.
“He-Man, I am your friend!”

YOU'RE THE CEO?!?!
-slams follow button-
I've been WAITING for some management around the anti c//a community
(Seriously thank you for this blog. Makes me feel less bonkers for being like.. one of the 20 ppl worldwide that can't stand c//a)...
First of all I'd like to thank you for your sweet words! ❤ I welcome you dearly on this humble, little Blog of mine. I'm still relatively new to Tumblr, so far I only silently watched the Tags from the shadows, leaving a Like every once in awhile at most.
Actually I expected to be instantly attacked when yesterday on Adora's Birthday I just had enough. But so far I got positive recognition only, including yours and while that is probably bound to change at some point in the future it is the best start I could've wished for. It is more than motivating to keep this Blog going.
Many Antis used to like Catradora and/or Catra at one point and I gotta admit I'm no different from that. Seeing the amazing Fanarts on Instagram and the comparisons to shows I loved I got really absorbed like: "Finally some good f**king food! Go lesbians, go." Hell, I thought Catra in a suit was so hot it scares me now. Now all I see is the memory of my abusive ex boyfriend from a time I did not know I'm aro yet.
I was in for a bitter surprise when out of boredom I started watching the show with a friend of mine because I very quickly started to dislike Catra. While I did not immediately notice how horrible she treats Adora even then (shoving and tackling her, making fun of her in dangerous situations, pulling her hair, guilt tripping and insulting her etc.), I still found her annoying and the second she tasered Adora I backed away from that Ship. At least I was able to figure out that was unhealthy. For a while I still was okay with it because "Hey, it still is the first/second Season" and Catra could still have lots of potential for a satisfying redemption but with Season 3 I just had enough.
Just like you described/hinted at I questioned my sanity: What if I'm in the wrong? There must be something about the Ship that so many like it, right? Surely something must be wrong with me and my perception of Catradora and Catra overall. It was horrifying, I hated it. I felt hated and alone for a long time, maybe in the future I'll share a few horror stories I lived through regarding that because there sure were some. The treatment did not contribute to my mental health. Yeah, sometimes it felt like this was going to shatter me.
Discovering people that thought like me, finding out about Tumblr was like a lifeline. It helped. It gave me hope. And I wanna do my best that other people can experience that too because despite being a minority, despite being treated like we're the "rotten" side of the fandom we're valid. We are entitled to our opinions. Dare I even say we're the ones that are right for questioning things that most people, including Noelle gloss over so easily? Abuse is not a joke. Or toxic obsessions, ableism. Nothing you should ignore for the sake of lesbian representation. And it's not like they did not have any other possible choices. We already got Spinnetossa and Scorfuma. Glimmadora would've worked, Adora with almost any other female (Huntara f. ex. or Perfuma, Mermista etc.) would've worked if that would not have been enough.
This Blog is to raise awareness to a small degree. Most Catradora stans will not listen. They're too caught up in their ignorance, they're too deep into it to ever admit they are wrong which is why 99% of the arguments they make are "fake" arguments (attacks, insults) or just generally untrue or invalid for different reasons. The Blog is also to give comfort and hope to others, to reach out. To people that are like me. Who think there might be something wrong with them. Who feel lonely or need validation that their opinion is very much justisfied. And the Blog finally is for me to rant so I can preserve a part of my sanity. Sometimes when interacting with toxic stans I can feel some of it leaving my body.
So next to lots of posts about my issues with Catra(dora) and its stand, I will also try to sneak in posts about support to Non Shippers (like reasons why shipping other Ships is valid, general support because most of us don't hear a "You are loved and valued" often enough etc.). May this account live on for a long time, I can see the Anti Catra(dora) Community is slowly growing. It's still not big, bigger than other Anti Tags though. And it does become less rare to encounter Non Shippers even outside of the regular Tumblr Tags. We might never "win" this fight and become the majority but we can try to do our best as a group. Repeat after me:
We are valid!! Our opinions, feelings and experiences matter!!
So to you and any Anti Catra(dora) person reading this: You have my love. My support. And I'll do my best to deliver some quality content to all of you for a long time to come!
And with that C.O.A.C. over and out, thank you so much for your Ask/"Question"/Message!
P.S. Oops, my hands slipped. I did not expect to slide right into a whole rant as to how I first encountered the Ship and what it did to me but here we are.

Imagine Double Trouble being obsessed with working you out because you're the only person they still can't imitate perfectly.
"Hey" Double Trouble smiled at Mermista disguised as you "know what we've all been called here for?". Mermista frowned and looked Double Trouble up and down "nope I know it's you". Double trouble groaned transforming back into their self. "What did i do wrong this time?". Mermista shrugged "i don"t know you just don't embody y/n". The other princesses looked over amused Double Trouble had failed again. "Plus y/n never says hey" Mermista added. "That's not true!" Frosta called coming over "she does but she doesn't say it like that she"s more like...heeeeey rather than heyyyy". Double trouble nodded pleased for the critique when Perfuma cut in "no i don't think that's right y/n just talks very distinctly, she stresses her vowels a lot". Double troubled nodded again changing their mental note when Bow confused them again. "No that's not right, i think it just depends on her mood like when she's happy she talks faster when she's angry she talks louder...". "Eugh" Double Trouble groaned as they all jumped in "why is she so hard to play?". "I don't know maybe you've just not been paying enough attention to me?" you called from the doorway where you'd been watching the whole time. Double Trouble grinned "impossible darling you're all i think about". You smirked sliding into the seat next to them "so you say but i'm not convinced, i think we need to test this?". "And how would you propose we do that?" they asked smirking. "We go on a date" you said simply and they froze. Usually Double Trouble was the dramatic one, the one who stopped conversations with a witty shocking comment, the one to cause a scene so they weren't used to someone else doing it to them. "I..erm...you want to go on a date with me?" they asked and you smiled at how flustered they looked. You'd never seen them like this and wondered why you didn't ask sooner. "Have for a while now but could never think of a way to ask" you nodded "so what do you say?". Double Trouble blushed but nodded their head "I think that would be nice". You smiled and sat forward in your chair "great I'll meet you in the gardens at 7" and winked walking away to join Glimmer. Double Trouble stared after you still confused. They had not been expecting that and realised they still had no clue about you, even when they thought they had you figured out you suprised them. It was annoying as hell from an actor's perspective but it still made them smile. Maybe that's why they liked you so much, you were the one person they couldn't work out and they loved that challenge. You were the most interesting person in this whole place to them.

2021 Entrapdak Positivity Month: #04
#04 Cleaning
*self-conscious because have seen cute sweet cleaning fanart, and instead i wanted to interpret this completely differently*
A/N: Role Swap AU and Gen Swap AU and Mirrorverse/Moral Swap AU...also just collectively Swap AU at the moment.
Some shortish notes on my Swap AU: Adora is one of many magitech androids (collectively called the She-Ra) that serve their creator, highly advanced and rogue A.I. Light Hope. Adora gets stranded on Etheria and ends up leading the Royal Alliance, a consolidation of royalty and nobles tightening control over the planet. The Alliance dethroned Bright Moon's original monarchy and took over. Hordak is a young soldier training to serve the Royal Alliance and trying to prove himself despite his physical “defect,” until he finds a mysterious magitech sword made by the First Ones. The sword contains a sentient A.I. that goes by Anillis. Since he was little, Hordak has been in the custody of C'yra, shadow sorcerer-general of the Royal Alliance. Since she was little, Princess Entrapta of Dryl has been in the custody of Princesses Perfuma, Mermista, and Frosta. When taken on trips to Bright Moon Castle, Entrapta likes spending time with Hordak, something they have enjoyed since they first met as young children. Hordak and Entrapta are teenagers while Adora, C'yra, Perfuma, Mermista, and Frosta, etc., are adults.
Before things get better, I've been brainstorming things are worse in this AU than they are in canon; like, for example, I’ve been imagining Swap!Royal Alliance worse than Etherian Horde partly because they're already explicitly more in control of Etheria and have a longer history of ruling the planet.
And now I experiment more with clues about events in the AU while writing a character and relationship study under different circumstances in a different world. The events of this may or may not be included in some form in my main swap fic on ao3, but it’s definitely been part of my brainstorming for it.
---
Hordak winced, and Entrapta flinched, shaking hands and the wet cloth they held jerking away from the deep claw marks on his back.
"I'm sorry." Her voice was small. "But I have to clean...this."
"'S'fine," Hordak mumbled, just tired and pained, and Entrapta ached all the more. But she resumed cleaning the bloody wounds that marred her partner, her hands steadying as she went. Entrapta wondered if he would walk away with more scars left behind by his adoptive mother, and her jaw clenched.
Something grazed her ear, and she recoiled without a thought, Hordak asked what's wrong—something was on her head—they were in the woods, and Perfuma could control plants, this was the worst place to be, it didn't matter that her adoptive guardians should've been back at the Alliance headquarters in Bright Moon Castle—
With one hand clutching Hordak's shoulder and the damp cloth pinned against his skin, Entrapta pulled out her shock baton and looked around, breathing harshly. She felt Hordak tense, but he waited, trusting her. Then Entrapta hesitantly calmed, put her baton away, and finally checked her head, finding two dry leaves—one on her shoulder and one with its stem loosely stuck through a little of her tightly shorn hair. She brushed off the foliage (free of magical control), apologized to Hordak and told him it was nothing, everything's okay, they were okay.
Then she heard Evenstar start beeping in a rapid stream, and she and Hordak quickly glanced at the pale blue, circular robot. But she only stood over the First Ones sword that had been dropped to the ground, beeping at it in what she and likely Hordak realized was amiable, excited chatter. Eventually, the sword beeped back, at a slower, slightly deeper, somehow more elegant-sounding clip. Its green gem had a line of crackling white that moved up and down in jagged peaks as it made sounds, and it seemed to glow brighter.
"Oh, you know binary too—um, Anillis?" Entrapta tried, hoping she got the sword A.I.'s name right. She should focus—these wounds were awful—but she desperately wanted some distraction for her and Hordak. But she could multitask. After quickly scrubbing her freckled cheeks dry—a few panic-stricken tears had slipped out again—Entrapta resumed cleaning Hordak's wounds, and listened for the A.I.'s response.
"So far Evenstar is speaking a form of binary I'm familiar with," Anillis's voice emanated from the sword, switching back to her and Hordak's native tongue, and again Entrapta was fascinated. Anillis sounded very much like Hordak, just older—and of course, he was also an A.I. housed inside a magitech sword, an amazing example of First Ones tech! Of course, that was exciting too. But the specificity of the A.I. sounding like Hordak fascinated her even more. Had the A.I. imprinted on Hordak and developed an approximation of his voice? So many questions.
"Evenstar," Hordak rasped out, and Entrapta took a breath and tried wringing out the cloth stained with blue blood and dipping it in the river again.
Resources were scarce after their unplanned escape from the Royal Alliance. She had just ripped off a part of her coat for cleaning Hordak's wounds, and she just had the river to rely on. Fortunately, Anillis had encouraged Hordak to dip him—the sword—oh this could get confusing—to dip the sword in the river beforehand. Hordak's eyes had changed again, but this time they all turned green, no trace of red was left; the emergence of slit pupils turned a glowing white instead of a deep black; and extra eyes didn't split open on his face. And the sword had hummed with energy again, as if preparing to shoot off the energy blasts she'd just witnessed hours ago—but this time the energy made some of the river's water angrily bubble, boiling it, and Entrapta understood what Anillis had wanted to try. Entrapta had waited for the boiled portion of the river to cool, then dipped her makeshift cloth in the water and began cleaning Hordak's injuries. She hoped it had been enough to clear the water of potential contaminants.
"Evensta—Evie, could you keep watch, please?" Hordak sounded even weaker, and Entrapta checked his forehead with a quick graze of her hand—still slick with sweat. What if the wounds had already been infected during the fight or while they fled on Evie? Then again, Hordak's desperate fight with C'yra had been brutal. Of course it made him sweat. (But could it mean more now?)
The robot gave an affirmative beep for her injured creator. "I can assist Evenstar as well," Anillis added.
"Oh...you—you can?" Hordak said, and from his voice Entrapta could picture his eyes getting glazier. Finally she just tore off another piece of her coat, providing a new piece of cloth to try to clean Hordak's wounds with.
"If we need any mobility, that's all on Evenstar," Anillis dryly said, and Entrapta felt a small stab of guilt over just leaving him-inside-the-sword lying on the grass like that and not even propped up against a tree, but Hordak had just finally collapsed and Entrapta had only thought of helping him up—Entrapta took a breath. She needed to calm down. Anillis showed zero problem with this, he must've understood; only she was starting to fret over this. There was no time for that, Hordak needed her more.
"But I can help her with surveillance at least," the sword A.I. continued. "My sensors should be enough for that."
After that, with two A.I. on guard, and Entrapta focused on Hordak's wounds, all went quiet in the Whispering Woods. Finally Entrapta shredded her whole jacket for cleaning wounds and then makeshift bandaging wrapped tight around Hordak's torso. She tended to his armor, particularly on his arms. Claw marks had been gouged through the metal there, but they seemed to have held up better than Hordak’s skin and clothes against a magicat sorcerer. Entrapta did what she could, and told herself she would do more once she scrounged up more resources.
Finally, she helped her partner lie down, and joined him, resting beside him. She wanted to curl close to him, but worried about aggravating his wounds. At least she was close enough for him to reach out to her, and for her to get flustered and tell him he shouldn't move, before quieting when his stiff, trembling hand found her cheek and finally relaxed when he touched her; and she relaxed just as much under his talons, gentle with her even while he clearly suffered and had been thoroughly made into a cruelly clawed up scratching post.
Entrapta closed her eyes as his talons threaded through her short hair.
"I wanna grow it out," Entrapta murmured. "Perfuma and the others wouldn't let me, but..."
Her throat thickened at the thought of her own adoptive guardians. Then her eyes burned. "Oh jeez, did I make you run away just so I can finally grow my hair out?"
"'Course not," Hordak simply said. "And I—I did want this too—I did want to leave—and leave with you—"
Her partner took a shuddering breath, and Entrapta shook her head. "Never mind, don't. Just save your strength. We can talk more when you're better."
"Just talk, please," Hordak said, closing his eyes, his hand growing a little more slack so that it slipped away from Entrapta's hair and just rested on her cheek now. She anticipated it sliding off when he finally fell asleep, and planned to catch it and place his hand gently on the ground instead when that time came. "I just...just wanna listen." Hordak's language was usually more precise than this, and the fact that it wasn't pointed to the severity of his pain and exhaustion.
Entrapta gulped down another breath. This was ridiculous, she hadn't suffered awful injuries like Hordak, why did she keep finding it hard to breathe?
"Sure, can do." She tried to smile, but it wobbled.
And then Entrapta struggled for words. This was the worst time for that. When it was just her and Hordak, words were easier, she didn't have to carefully navigate them like she had to with her guardians and other royals and nobles and Alliance members. Why were words failing her now, just when Hordak needed them the most?
"Thank you for coming with me when I asked you to," Entrapta finally murmured, her voice wet. She removed Hordak's hand, so that it would be easier to place her own hand on his bruised cheek. "I know we had talked about it before, sometimes, but we had never really...decided on anything, and..." Entrapta sobbed.
She scrubbed her freckled face dry again, then placed her hand back on Hordak. His eyes remained shut, and his breathing had leveled out somewhat; he seemed completely knocked out now. She would have to repeat this to him later. "You mean the world to me...so, thank you. Thank you for coming with me."
There was a noise.
Entrapta reached for her baton and placed a quieting hand on Hordak, starting to wake up. Catching her eye, he stilled.
They heard Evenstar revving her laser, until Anillis’s voice broke through, saying, “Wait. Hold your fire, that’s—she’s not an enemy, I know her—”
“Ani dearie?” That sounded like an old woman, and Entrapta began to relax, even as her confusion mounted. She frowned when Hordak started getting up to his elbows, but she helped him rise.
“Anillis,” the sword A.I. corrected, sounding more quietly awed without a trace of irritation. “You’re still here.”
“Of course I am, now wh—” When she came into view of Entrapta and Hordak (now sitting up), the old woman paused, staring at them.
“Oh, Kadroh dearie!” The stranger said, rushing over remarkably fast and briefly reminding Entrapta of a cute little white hedgehog. But when she came a little too close for comfort to a startled Hordak, Entrapta stepped in between them.
But when the old woman ducked under her arm, Entrapta blankly thought, Touché. Boy, she was tired and ready to sleep for like a hundred days or something.
“Kadroh, where have you and Ani been—oh dear, you’re hurt—”
“Um, ma’am, I’m sorry, but you have me mistaken for—I’m Hordak, not...”
“He’s right, Razz,” Anillis said, voice low. “Look at his eyes, look at his crest—”
The old woman—Razz squinted behind her big round glasses. Then her voice softened. “Yes, I see now...so similar, though...you’re Kadroh’s younger brother, aren’t you?”
Entrapta gaped. For as long as she remembered, Hordak had been an orphan and in General C’yra’s custody. Hordak turned to Anillis-in-the-sword. “What’s going on, you still haven’t explained anything—!”
“I will when you’re bleeding out a little less,” the sword A.I. snapped back. Then more calmly, he said, “Razz, do you have a place where we could stay?”
“Of course, dear, same as last time.” Then Razz turned, offering Hordak a hand. “Here, let Madame Razz and your violet friend here help you up—”
Then Evenstar beeped and scuttled forward. “That’s okay, Evie can give Hordak a ride,” Entrapta said, taking her partner’s hand. Then she paused, looked from Razz to Hordak. “You’re okay with this, right? Razz seems nice, and real nonthreatening, Anillis apparently knows her—and sorry for talking about you even though you’re right here.” She shot Razz a somewhat embarrassed look.
“Don’t fret, dearie,” Razz said, giving a smile so calming Entrapta immediately felt a little more relaxed.
“It’s fine, I want—” Hordak winced, and Entrapta held him. “I want answers, and Razz and the sword seem to know—”
“Anillis,” Entrapta corrected him without thinking, and Hordak glared at the ground.
“You can trust Razz,” Anillis said, his voice breaking in again. He sounded detached, but Entrapta thought it was the sort of detached she tried to use with the princesses when she wanted to hide stuff. “She’s an old friend.”
Hordak’s only response was to place a hand on Evenstar, and Entrapta helped him up, settling him on top of his robot. Then she moved to grab the sword, but Razz had already picked him up.
“It’s all right, I’ve got Ani here.”
“Anillis,” the sword repeated, but more out of reflex with less intent on actually being heard. “We’re fine, Entrapta.”
Entrapta nodded, then climbed on top of Evenstar. She’d support Hordak if he started to slump down in exhaustion or actually fell asleep—either way, she’d be there holding him up and making sure he didn’t fall off his robot.
Holding Hordak close, Entrapta and him rode away on Evenstar, following Razz while she held the sword, its green gem glowing in the dark of the woods.

A/N: There are some more direct swaps, and some more partial swaps. Like Hordak < — > Adora + Shadow Weaver < — > C'yra more directly, while Entrapta is partially swapped with Scorpia (cheerful Etherian princess raised in antagonist-aligned faction, though I imagine Swap!Entrapta's situation is pretty explicitly worse than Mainverse!Scorpia's) + just exploring Entrapta with a more explicitly traumatic background. (And been brainstorming that Swap!Scorpia more just Gen Swap and protagonist-aligned but still fighting the Royal Alliance, and there'll be no shifting down the line because she's more adamant about resisting the more corrupt Royal Alliance).
Perfuma, Mermista, and Frosta are just generally swapped from protagonist-aligned to antagonist-aligned and not with any specific characters, except maybe also elements of Shadow Weaver actually; they're Gen Swap and Mirrorverse/Moral Swap and explorations of Perfuma+Mermista+Frosta being older and stronger in their magic and more corrupt with their power.
And swapping can also just be pretty fluid/more sorta experimental. For example, C'yra < — > Shadow Weaver directly enough, but C'yra also still just as obsessed with the transforming wielder of the magic sword that rebels and defects, but now framed as an abusive mother than an abusive companion. (There won’t be any reconciliation between Swap!Hordak and Swap!C’yra.) Another example: Swap!Anillis also swapping around Light Hope’s and Horde Prime’s demeanor with being less robotic/a little more visibly snarky, as well as more concerned and invested rather than cold and uncaring.
Like in the mainverse, Emily = Evenstar and created by Hordak, but they're closer in this AU—Hordak personally built her and she's the only one he's created so far, Evenstar hasn’t been mass produced. Her name and paintjob are different since Hordak drew more from the leftover Bright Moon culture/decor he grew up in while he was raised in Bright Moon Castle.
