Wanting to settle down after becoming the world's greatest swordsman and other strange behavior. Tashigi wondered what happened to the man she had met in Loguetown. Either that or this person was, did she dare say it, a copycat or clone? Okay, she shouldn't be thinking that but what else could explain the way Roronoa was acting.

In fact, Ieaki couldn’t tear his mind off of it at all for a number of moments, the pale apples of his cheeks suggesting a tint of pink.

Maybe the distance apart from not seeing each other through the Grand Line for so long has made the swordsman forget what he said to her that night in the rain when Zoro had argued with the marine after their duel, if you wanted to call it that.

"I still cause you annoyance and seeing you spikes my blood pressure. Not in a good way anyways". Still Roronoa hasn't run away like before, when even just telling him to stop and fight her would cause the swordsman to run in the opposite direction. Maybe that was a little bit of progress but probably had nothing to do with the situation at hand. Now that she had time to think about it, Tashigi was a little confused. Just what was Zoro even talking about here?

"Look, just either spit it out or fight me for real. Only two options".

"Well, I certainly don't have beef with you as in like Roronoa levels. Actually, I'm one of the nicest marines you are probably going to meet. I'm a lot kinder than my boss is for sure". Okay maybe she shouldn't be selling herself like this but indeed, most of the men in her troupe were somewhat downright mean to pirates on their days on the job. So much as torching a poor man tied up. Tashigi had to mediate the whole situation by telling them to stop with the bullying.

In all, she was quite the embarrassment to the marines as a whole, so it shouldn't be surprising that her level of tolerance was way above others in her field. It could be a good thing and a hinderance sometimes. Although, getting back on track, there hasn't been an instant where she was actually caught in being nice to the older brother of Straw Hat.

"You said I am being somewhat nice? Mind explaining when that was? I'm somewhat forgetful of things as it hasn't anything to do with swords".

An early close at his own workshop that eve had Ilya head towards Naldiq & Vymelli's. Already restless, the male knew he would not be able to sleep and thus had landed upon the decision to offer his hand as an aid - as he did on the rare occasion. He said naught as he entered, tucking himself in a corner with a list of  requests in one hand and a hammer in the other - ‘t was easy enough for him to begin to forge the small knives in multiples - one heating in the forge, one worked upon the anvil and then swapped. 

By the time he decided to have a break, it was long past midnight - fatigue burning away in his arms, back aching. The very idea of taking the long trek all the way home was disheartening, not wishing to even contemplate doing such while, now, in such a soured mood. 

Small  arguments and exchanged tiffs with Brithael were perfectly normal by this point, and they’d been much the same that eve until some half a bell prior - when all had fallen silent save for the hammer clangs against heated metal. Pausing was a relief, the cup of water in hand somewhat trembling from the exhaustion running through arms and he’d been murmuring his agitations when Brithael spoke. 

He’s stunned into silence, pale eyes lifting to stare towards his company; momentarily speechless. The cup within his hand is lowered, mouth closing so he no longer looked akin to an idiot with it agape. A slow breath is drawn inward, setting aside his usual sharp and cocky demeanour to instead show a little softness - just a little.

“Thank you---” He whispers, dropping his gaze once more. Knowing he would not need to make the long walk home was... welcoming. “I - - appreciate it.”
