In a reboot/reimagining of X-Men Evolution, what if the Spider-kids were there, too, with maybe Aunt May and another Spider-adjacent adult, and they were their own group, along with the Brotherhood and X-Men... And then there is Reader, a spider mutant, who is now stuck in the middle of the three groups, and is trying to stay neutral and out of their way? More-or-less wanting to stick to themself, but not cold or aloof, just someone who may be slightly uneasy around them, yet is friendly or at the least amicable?

Like, imagine the Spider-kids consist of Peter Parker/Spiderman, Miles Morales/Spin, Gwen Stacy/Ghost Spider, maybe with their friends/enemies as Spider-kids too, like Harry Osborn but with Carnage, or a green crab spider or orchard spider theme, Mary Jane Watson or MJ with her symbiote or with a trapdoor spider theme, maybe Flash with the Venom symbiote or with a tarantula theme... Reader I can see being a wolf spider, orbweaver, or jumping spider mutant. Especially if they are related to or an experiment involving the DNA of one of the adult mutants.

Would the X-Men and Brotherhood try to get the Spider-teens at some point to join their groups? Probably. Would it work? I think it depends on what the options are and how stable their powers are. Would they be more spider-like? Yes. The Venom symbiotes could be anything from aliens to experiments to even an alternate personality. Or they could be with the adults? It's undecided as of the moment.

Characters that won't be included in this au are Eddie Brock and Miguel O'Hara. I like them, for the most part, but I'm not sure how to write them. I do like Venom, but I'm sticking more along the animted versions of him, as that works better with this AU.

A name for this AU could be the 🕸Silken Threads and Venomous Webs🕷 AU...

You were absolutely freaking the fuck out. You couldn't believe that you were going to dinner and the CEO of Oscorp would be attending! You were always a science geek and meeting him was going to be like meeting the god of science. This was a dream come true!

Even though there was still over two hours till you had to drive to Peter's, you were already practicing what you were going to say, picking out your outfit, wondering how to style your hair, the whole starter pack of meeting one of the world's greatest geniuses.

Back and forth you paced around your bedroom, practicing and muttering to yourself.

"Hi, s-so nice to meet you, sir, my name is.. no, that's not good enough."

"Hi! So nice to meet you, sir. You look great- nooo."

"Hello- what?! NO! Who the hell says 'hello' in person?"

You were like a kid trying to learn how to ride a bike. Wobbly, mentally beating yourself up, and going absolutely nowhere.

So you thought it would just be best to wait until you actually got there and hoped that winging it would be the best strategy. Meanwhile, you pranced over to your bathroom, already in a pair of black dress pants. Now, you just had to pick out a shirt.

You couldn't decide between the white button-up or the red sweater. You thought button-ups were sexy in their own way, but was sexy really the look you were going for to meet the CEO of Oscorp? Probably not. Plus, this particular shirt was extremely see through, and you didn't want to have to layer up and then get all sweaty.

So, you ultimately went with the red sweater. It was knitted in such a nice pattern, with vertical lines spread across the base of the shirt and the arms. It was a sweater, but it wasn't like a heavy sweater that you'd wear to a Christmas party or something. It was perfect, just a bit too tight, but still manageable.

Putting a few spritz of hair spray in your hair and styling it to your liking, you decided to watch TV on the couch to calm your nerves before tonight's dinner.

-Time skip: 5:40 PM/17:40-

By now, you were starting to regret not preparing enough. Your hands grew shaky as your turned the wheel of your car on your way to Peter's, and you couldn't believe how nervous you were. On top of your hands being shaky, your palms also felt sweaty. You tried to get your breathing under control, too, before stepping out of your car and into Peter's garage. You usually entered the house that way.

"Yo, Peter!" you called out. "Where are ya?

"In my room, get in here!" he yelled back.

You quickly made your way to Peter's room. You knocked on the door twice before opening it, greeted by Peter styling his hair in a mirror. He saw your reflection and quickly turned to greet you.

"Hey.. you look fantastic," he commented.

"Why thank you, Mr. Parker," you responded.

"Harry just texted me a couple of minutes ago, he said he's about 5 minutes away," Peter was quick to note.

"Okay, sounds great!"

"And.. by the way," Peter added, quickly gaining your attention, "Please.. just.. give Harry a chance? I was talking to him on the phone last night and I-I really think he likes you. Don't tell him I told you this or anything, but really, Harry is such a genuine, sweet guy a-and I probably sound biased because he's like my brother but–"

"Peter, I feel like you think I hate Harry or something," you began, cutting Peter off from his rambling, "I agree with you! He's kind and very intelligent, just like his father, I just don't know if we're compatible."

"You haven't even given him a chance yet!" he interjected.

You lowered your voice to a harsh whisper, "Listen, you know what happened with me and my last relationship. Dating is not as easy to me as it might be for you. I don't know if I can trust Harry, regardless of the things you are telling me. Unless he really stuck out to me, which he doesn't at the moment, then I'm not going to throw myself at his feet, especially if you keep begging me to! If I feel that Harry and I are compatible, I will certainly try and make a move. Now, please stop asking me to try and get with your best friend just because you feel bad!"

Peter let out a long sigh, he seemed almost speechless, "...Okay. I'm sorry"

"Oh shit, that must be them. I'll go let them in." Like a bolt of lightning, Peter flashed out of the room, probably feeling awkward from what you had just said. You were hoping you didn't hurt his feelings. You sighed and fixed some stray hairs in Peter's mirror.

The once very quiet house suddenly became filled with noise as your heard Peter greetings the Osborns. You were always a little shy when it came to meeting new people. Now that you're meeting a multibillionare, it heightened your anxiety even more. You felt like you had a big impression to make.

Slowly you crept out of Peter's room. You can see that the part of the house you were in was still empty, so they must all still be in the foyer. You slowly inched your way there, peeking around the corner and seeing Harry talking with Peter. From where you were standing, you couldn't see Mr. Osborn.

You seized your courage and took a deep breath, taking a few steps towards Peter. He must have heard your footsteps approaching, so he turned quickly and took your wrist in his hand.

Peter put his arm around your shoulder, "Oh, and Norman, I don't believe you met Y/N yet. They've been a good friend of ours for quite some time now." You felt as though you were as stiff as a statue. You probably looked like an idiot. You were too busy smiling and being awkward that you didn't catch Norman staring at you with wide eyes.

Once you did look over at him, he shook you hand slowly, introducing himself. You shook his hand in return.

"I-It's an honour to meet you, Mr. Osborn," you tried your best to sound calm.

"Oh, please, call me Norman," he gave a small smirk, hardly visible enough to notice. He could tell you were trying not to blush.

"Dinner will be ready in about ten or fifteen minutes," Peter informed everyone.

"Sounds good," Harry replied.

Harry made his way with Peter to the living room where they shouted like madmen at the game playing on the TV. Meanwhile, you kept checking your hair in the bathroom, leaving the door open. You were never really a stickler for your hair being perfect, but tonight you thought it looked absolutely atrocious. You were getting so frustrated with it.

Without your knowledge, Norman approached the bathroom, trying his best not to admire the way you styled your hair. "You look great," Norman said, trying to reassure you, you supposed. He was leaning against the doorframe. You jumped, you didn't even hear him approach the bathroom.

"Oh, thank you, Norman," you said with a sigh of relief.

"That red sweater look amazing, too," he added, pointing to the piece of clothing. "Red really is your colour," he mostly whispered that last part. His voice was smooth like silk.

"Thank you. I wasn't actually sure about wearing this sweater tonight. Thought it looked a little silly on me."

"I think it looks gorgeous on you," he whispered again.

You were visibly blushing. You knew it and you didn't care. There was something Norman Osborn was doing to you, and you knew that he was doing it on purpose.

Peter called you both from the dining room.

"We should probably go," you mentioned.

You walked alongside Norman to the dining room, gradually separating yourself from him as you got closer to the table. You shivered when he whispered in your ear, "Sit next to me."

You innocently took a seat next to Norman at the dining room table as Harry and Peter brought out the food. You saw Harry's eyebrows furrow in confusion at the sight of you sitting next to his dad, but he didn't protest and took a seat next to Peter. Peter, too, looked confused.

The dinner was absolutely fantastic. Peter made a roasted chicken and Harry also contributed by making mashed potatoes. There were a couple vegetables to choose from, as well. It wasn't anything big, but it was just enough for the four of you. Not to mention it tasted fucking phenomenal.

You offered to collect and wash the dishes when you saw that everyone had finished. Harry offered to help you in hopes of getting to spend some alone time with you, but Norman insisted that he relaxed with Peter in the living room and that he would help you with the dishes. Harry was frustrated with his father. Norman didn't know that Harry was interested in you, but that didn't change the fact that Harry didn't get a chance to talk to you at all yet.

You grabbed some soap and began scrubbing the dishes with a sponge. You felt Norman slowly creep up to you, standing by your side and wrapping his arm around your shoulders.

"You're.. really pretty," he whispered softly, looking at the sink in front of you both.

You stopped what you were doing, completely frozen in place. Norman quickly observed this and was quick to add, "I-I'm sorry, I know that was weird to say, I-I just really think that you're.. attractive.. and..."

You smiled and looked at him, "I-It's okay, Norman, really. I think you're.. really pretty, too." Yeah, you thought he was pretty alright. Maybe a little more than pretty...

Norman's gave averted to yours, and you saw his lips part slowly. His arm was still around your shoulders and you could've sworn that you were seeing him slowly lean towards you, so you began to do the same. You swear you were about to kiss him, you wanted to so badly, but everything that seemed to be happening stopped when his phone started to buzz in his pocket.

Norman pulled out his phone and took a look at it. You thought it was a phone call but it was apparently only a text message. You saw his eyes widen after a moment and heard him mutter an 'oh shit' before storming out of the kitchen and grabbing his coat from the coat hanger. Harry and Peter heard the commotion from Norman's footsteps and quickly shuffled to the foyer.

"Dad, what's going on?" Harry asked, visibly extremely concerned. He turned his head to the side and saw you standing at the end of the foyer. His gaze softened when he saw the pain in your eyes.

"Something came up at the headquarters, I have to leave now. It's an emergency. I-It was great seeing you Peter," Norman announced in a shaky voice. He didn't even look at you as he bolted out of the door. He never even said goodbye to you..

For the rest of the night, you were very visibly upset. You tried to hide it, but it was so clear. Peter kept asking you what was wrong, but you always shook the question off. Eventually, you ended up leaving early, too. It wasn't just the Norman thing that made you upset, it was also Harry who kept pushing himself onto you after his dad left. He did it time and time again, and it genuinely made you extremely uncomfortable, so you left.

You couldn't even remember driving home that evening since your head was so preoccupied the entire drive. Why did Norman leave so soon? Why didn't he even say goodbye to you? Did you make him uncomfortable? Probably. You're a fucking loser for trying to make advances on your lover's dad. Harry probably noticed too, the way you pushed him away all night.

When you got home, you quickly threw on a hoodie and some sweatpants and launched yourself onto the couch. You fell asleep after watching some TV, you didn't even check your phone to see the texts that Peter had sent you.

I'm really disappointed that you left early. I thought we were having a good time. Did something happen?

You didn't even talk to Harry, he's all upset now that you're gone

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to blame you or anything, I just don't understand why you left so early

You woke up pretty late the next morning, close to noon, and texted Peter apologising for last night and that you would call him later. You didn't feel like dealing with him or Harry's feelings right now.

You just couldn't get last night out of your head.

You wondered if last night was the first and last time you'd ever see Norman. You bashed yourself over and over on whether or not you did something wrong.

In the middle of making yourself some lunch, well, breakfast in this case, you heard a truck pulling into your driveway. You were assuming you were getting something you ordered online – but then you realised you haven't bought anything online recently.

After waiting for the truck to leave, you slowly made your way to your front door. You opened it slowly, like a kid trying to sneak out of their room at night, and peeked out the crack of the space between the door and the doorframe. You saw a cardboard box sitting on your front porch. It had two strings tied around it, holding an envelope in between.

You quickly snatched the box from outside and placed in on your kitchen counter. You went to grab some scissors as you wondered who could've sent you a package. One you cut the strings, you took the envelope and opened that first.

There was a letter inside of it. Strange, you don't really get cards in the mail, let alone a letter. You slowly unfolded it and began to read.

Dear Y/N,

I'm so sorry for the other night. I did not intend to leave so early. I don't even think I said goodbye to you.

I had a terrific time meeting you. Well, I shouldn't sell myself out – I think that you are absolutely gorgeous, Y/N.

From the moment I saw you, I had to peel my eyes off of you in order to make eye contact with someone else. Your smile is brighter than the sun, and that red sweater captivated your beauty perfectly.

I know I only got to talk with you for a few brief moments, but I really am interested in getting to know you better, if you would like that. My phone number is listed at the bottom of this letter. Give me a call and we can plan something out.

You were absolutely touched by the letter. Your chest felt warm, as if your heart that had little cracks in it from last night were healing.

You were so glad your admiration for him was reciprocated.

You were so caught up in your bubbly little teenage-like feelings that you almost forgot to open the box. You wondered what Norman got you.. and why.

Slowly you sliced through the tape with one blade of the scissors, and opened the box. There was a little notecard on top of some wrapping paper.

I thought this would look phenomenal on you, even more than the one you wore last night. If you do want to go out, I would love to see you wear this.

You heart filled with joy. What could he have possibly bought you? You tore apart the wrapping paper to reveal what was inside. You pulled it out to fully look at its beauty.

He bought you a red sweater.
