hhhh i'm so late with this but thank you @jaywalkers for the tag!!

1. anne shirley from anne of green gables - this series and its protagonist were absolutely FORMATIVE for me and shaped so much of my worldview as a child. she remains one of my favourite characters in anything ever. a child of light by birthright.

2. percy jackson - look i have nothing to say for myself. i've been younger than him and exactly his age and older than him and he's very special to me. i'll always remember the way this series Hooked me into reading as a child.

3. tsukishima kei from hq - it's very strange that i've never written him but i adoreeeee him truly. i love his arc and his development and his personality and i love him finding JOY in what he does in a way that retains his integrity of self throughout it.

4. midorima shintarou from knb - clocking that i have a Type in characters now but really i LOVE him. he's my son. my babie son. i would do anything for him and his stupid cart and his stupid glasses and his stupid lucky items.

5. renee walker from aftg - okay i love the main trio of this series so much but i had to mention renee specifically because it's like half of her is what i am and the other half is what i aspire desperately to be. i think she deserves everything in the world.

6. artemis from artemis fowl - more of my type i.e. babie son. he's INSUFFERABLE and smug and clever and calculating and ruthless and not as ruthless as he thinks he is. and so, so, so loved. also he's just so fucking funny i love him.

7. todoroki shouto from bnha - i don't keep up with this series anymore but i do miss the characters and todoroki is so special to me. his arc and development are so compelling and i just want him to be happy!!

8. kim dojka from orv - oh my GOSHHHH this man. he is such an incredible character from a narrative standpoint (SO unreliable and complex, an incredible study in loneliness and storytelling and readership and escape) but also from a personal one he's SUCH A GUY. i love him endlessly.

9. saiki k from the disastrous life of saiki k - i don't talk enough about how much i love this anime but i ADORE saiki and his dry wit and constant tiredness and begrudging friendships (i'm just realising this is Still My Type) anyway i want to hold him up like simba. i want to gently rotate him in a microwave.

10. chuuya nakahara from bsd - he's just such a good boy. angry unhinged crazy good boy. he's tiny. i want to eat his gender. i want to ruffle his hair. i want him to find lasting peace and happiness. every six months i am suddenly hit with a wave of fondness for him.

introducing this aspiring beam of light who i would die for in a nanosecond ! imma give y’all some background since idk how many of you have read the all for the game series (if you haven’t, and you’re into ya. . . you really should lol) and i don’t want that to hinder you ! i will try to avoid plotty spoilers if possible hehe but in any case, consider yourself warned about the following triggers: abuse, death (murder-y and otherwise), pedophilia, violence, rape, & spoilers.

renee walker was born in detroit, michigan as natalie shields, though her birth name is all she ever got from her biological parents. she was raised by the foster system starting at age four; around the time she turned ten, natalie ran away and ended up joining a gang.

gang life was not kind to her initially. one of the higher ranking men took a liking to her - she wasn’t the first girl to fall victim to him, but natalie made sure she was the last.

his weapon of choice was knives, and so she practiced and practiced, until she was finally good enough to best him in a fight and kill him. (mind you, she’s probably a pre-teen at this point)

rather than getting angry with natalie, the leader of the gang saw potential in the young girl and lifted her rank within the gang. she remained with them for a few more years, until she was busted on drug charges, among others.

enter stephanie walker, lawyer and adoptive mother extraordinaire. rather than allow natalie to be swallowed by the system yet again, stephanie got her the minimal sentence for her charges in exchange for testimony against natalie’s former gang and adopted her.

stephanie gave the girl, now about fifteen, a new name (renee walker), a new religion (christianity), and a new life. renee loves her mother dearly and is eternally grateful for everything she’s done.

she started playing exy [a made-up but cool as hell sport that’s a central focus of the trilogy but you don’t really need to know any more than that lol] sometime after meeting her adoptive mother as a physical outlet, which is how she ended up at palmetto state university playing exy for the foxes

she plays all throughout college, and with the help of some plot things and stupid boys being especially but endearingly stupid, the foxes win the national championship renee’s senior year.

CANON ENDS HERE. obviously in order to play her here i had to kill renee somehow, and i decided to do it nice and painfully by giving her complications with scar tissue sustained from her time with the gang that managed to kill her soon after the foxes’ win at nationals, so, yay ! (not yay, renee does not deserve death but like here we are)

time for some personality tidbits and whatnot !

renee has an uncanny knack for keeping her cool, under pressure or otherwise. she’s got a calm disposition 99.8% of the time, but if you ever witness that leftover .2%, you should probably run as fast and as far as you can because she can and will gut you like a fish.

renee is a devout christian, so the notion of the good place / bad place shtick doesn’t require a whole lot of soul searching on her part

the only seriously confusing part for her is why she’s in the good place and not the bad place - in her mind, she hasn’t fully redeemed herself for all the terrible things she did before her ‘rebirth’.

the books don’t discuss her sexuality, but i have always headcanoned her to be pansexual, with a bit of a lean towards female & female-presenting folks.

she can & will make friends with anyone (see: andrew minyard) so be careful or she’ll be unconditionally loving and supporting your character(s).

her biggest goal in life since said ‘rebirth’ has been redeeming her present self for her past actions. it’s such a broad goal, though, that sometimes she has a bit of a hard time figuring out just how she’s supposed to do that. neither of those sentiments have changed since dying.

she’s not sure about this whole ‘soulmate’ thing, but will definitely be keeping an extra eye on hers just in case she needs protection (which surely won’t be a problem here... definitely not... right ?)

tl;dr: renee’s a sweetheart with a seriously dark past & she’s here to love and be loved, pls come @ me for plots ! pls !!

This is my first fic and I’m very proud of it, hopefully it can get more reads? It’s self-indulgent but it’s also for the fandom.

It’s about the foxes, specifically Andrew, during the time Neil was taken to Baltimore. It starts at the Bearcats’ locker room and ends with Andrew and Wymack leaving to move the bus from the hotel parking lot.

Andrew Minyard never expected much of his life and found much more in David Wymack and his lot in Palmetto. His diner means working all day and meeting all kinds of people, but it’s his and he wouldn’t want it any different. Not as long as he can pay for his twin’s study. As one day Neil Josten stumbles into his diner for an interview for a job at Wymack’s transportation company, Andrew senses that his life will change in ways he’s never anticipated.

It’s here guys - waaaa. I just love this chapter and writing it and Kevin Day is a darling as well as one Aaron Minyard who’s the best brother in this one.

With so much on the line, Neil and the rest of the Foxes decide Palmetto isn’t safe anymore. While decked out in orange and Exy sticks, there’s zombies, violence, enemies dead and alive, and the underlying need for survival.

The last thing Andrew wanted after his last shitshow of a "second chance" was to be stuck with an idiot witcher, but life was never that kind to him. After dabbling in black magic, unintentionally binding his soul to the bracers, and winding up in the hands of Drake Spear, he didn't expect anything better when Matt Boyd cut the bracers off Drake's cold dead hands and stashed Andrew away for a century. That century gave him plenty of time to contemplate life, and how little he cared to put up with anyone's bullshit. Especially Neil's.

Andrew smiled something manic, and blasted a fist into Neil’s injured side. “You’re a lot funnier when you’re writhing in pain,” he decided.

Back to the Frollo, Author’s Notes

Notes on Back to the Frollo

What inspired FrolloFreak to write such an epic?

Yeah. Epic. This is on par with the Odyssey, right here.

Well... I was originally inspired by another Frollo story. The tale, The Secret History of Judge Claude Frollo, written by a "Claudine Frollo" (aka Belladonna, FSM #1),

So I’ve given up and looked up the acronym, and evidently FSM stands for Frollo’s Secret Mistress. So yes. He does have a harem. And all these women write stories in which they are a part of that harem.

Oh yes, and thank Bella for suggesting the title: Back to the Frollo. At the time when I was busily running off the first couple of chapters, I hadn't come up with a fitting title! Thanks, B! So what was the original story about? I'd rather not go into details, but I had to slightly alter the situation where Claude ends up...well...then is pursued by adoring FSMs.

BTTF was originally planned as a five-part story; however, when I finished the first six chapters, I was determined to let this 'short' tale evolve into a twenty-chapter epic.

Characters

1 The Soldier who pulled that rotten prank... 2 From the start, I wanted to do something with Phoebus, so the soldier would be Phoebus' cousin. However, by the end of Chapter 12, I decided to touch on my conspiracy theory. 3 Who'd thought that my theory, already incorporated in the remaining chapters – MY ALREADY OUTLINED AND ROUGH-DRAFTED CHAPTERS – would coincide with my sister FSMs conspiracy theories!

You’re all the same breed of crazy, so it isn’t that far-fetched.

4 The de Chateaupers cousins were modeled on some of my old classmates. Jules and Renee are named after kids I used to babysit. Malus? Well, he's based on a kid that used to live in the 'hood - a real bad seed – I think he's in jail(!). Hence the name, "Malus"...that name came from the only Latin teacher in my building. Sort of fits..."Malus" means "bad".

Basing characters after children you know is weird, sorry. Especially when those characters end up dead.

5 As stated before, Fern is based on a former co-worker. Judy [REDACTED} is one of the best English teachers I know. She's fat, funny, has that Hoosier twang, and is extremely brilliant and gifted.

I was the one that added the REDACTED; in the original story, the woman’s full name was there, and that’s a massive invasion of privacy to Judy, so I deleted it.

6 Jacki is based on two former students who are real whizzes at math and science. I named her after the principal of Arlington High School here in Indianapolis. Jackie [REDACTED], if you happen to read this, I want to thank you for being so supportive when the going got rough for me.

How much do I have to reiterate that releasing people’s full names and town to the Internet is weird and kind of disturbing? Also, your boss knows about your odd Frollo fetish fanfic?

7 Aunt Perle is based on my dad's 86-year old cousin. Bernice [REDACTED] knows everything that goes on in the family. She's so sweet! "Perle" was the name of one of my mom's friends, who passed away a few years ago. I still miss her. 8 Kyle, or Chi, is really Fern's/Judy's son! I don't know if he can dance or play the dobro – I just threw that in for effect. :-) 9 The Front Porch String Band? It's real, too! In reality, it's known as the Family Reunion String Band. They play every year at the Indiana State Fair, and I never miss a performance. These guys are AWESOME! If you're going to be in Indianapolis during the fair, stop by the Pioneer Farm and Home Exhibit – you'll be truly entertained.

I don’t care. Stop.

****** Oh, yes...those northside haunts that FrolloFreak and Claude visit...they're real! There really is a Broad Ripple Village (my high school, of the same name, is there), a Lilly Orchard, a Monon Rail-Trail (which is busy with walkers, runners, skaters, etc.), and, of course, North Meridian Street with all those fine, old mansions.

We know. I looked it up. Again, releasing people’s name and towns to an Internet full of strangers is not cool.

Finally, I'd like to thank Belladonna again for editing and posting those first few installments. And thanks for helping me out on the historical angle.

Uh...If you remember Chapters 8 & 9, you'll recall that FrolloFreak mentioned to Claude Frollo that she was from the New World. Bella corrected me on this -- 'America' hadn't been discovered yet! How could a social studies teacher let that one slip by?! :)

But you let the fact that he was not Spanish slip by…

So, for Chapters One thru Nine, I extend personal thanks to Bella for all her tireless assistance.
