*guy who loves talking about despair disease voice* wait can we talk more about despair disease. i have so many thoughts on despair disease and esp how it pertains to nagito
i feel like when a lot of people first play/watch the games they see nagito as someone who lies to manipulate people, which while i canā€™t super blame them for thinking that way bc of how hajime tries to reconcile his conflicting feelings over nagito, i get SO frustrated when ppl call nagito a liar bc no!!! no heā€™s not!!! youā€™re falling for other charactersā€™ perceptions of him!!! nagito almost never lies and when he does heā€™s either really bad at it (cough cough final FTE. ā€œi got it all from a bookā€ you are not slick buddy) or comes clean as soon as heā€™s achieved his desired outcome- itā€™s more bluffing than actual deception, and one thing heā€™s especially sincere in is his beliefs and admiration for the people around him. and the despair disease PROVES this without a doubt!!
ok. i know in-text the despair disease is described as ā€œreversing peopleā€™s personalities,ā€ but iā€™ve always interpreted it a little differently. ibuki isnā€™t the opposite of gullible, akane isnā€™t the opposite of a coward, and nagito isnā€™t the opposite of a liar. to me, itā€™s always seemed like the despair disease gives its host the trait theyā€™d most hate to haveā€” whatever trait would instill in them the deepest despair. ibuki hates conformity- stick her with a disease that makes her blindly follow whatever sheā€™s told. akane hates showing weakness- force her into a state of constant crying. nagito hates the idea of deceiving his classmates- make him incapable of being sincere. this interpretation makes mikanā€™s disease make a little more sense too imo, since remembering her brainwashing isnā€™t exactly reversing her personality but instead literally filling her to the brim with despair. ANYWAYS.
nagito Actively Despises not being able to tell the truth. he hates the despair disease, he sees it as a complete waste. in the ult. luck and hope and despair mangas, we actually get to see some of his internal monologue right before he passes out, and he is In Hell. heā€™s pissed that he canā€™t serve as a proper stepping stone in his state, he thinks the whole disease is stupid, and he gets so frustrated about not being able to properly encourage the group that he Literally Starts Foaming At The Mouth ????? like if you EVER wanted undeniable proof that nagito is sincere look at the despair disease. itā€™s basically a roundabout truth serum for him and thatā€™s a huge part of why itā€™s one of my favorite motives
sidenote i feel like the despair disease has a shit ton of analysis potential in general just bc of how it turns characters into what they hate the most!! i loveeee brainstorming what symptoms certain characters would have gotten were they to get infected. hajime especially. maybe heā€™d get a fawning disease where he starts praising everyone nagito-style (this would highlight their bystander parallels and also make hajime feel MISERABLE bc he fucking hates when nagito points out how similar they are lmao). or maybe heā€™d get an apathy disease thatā€™d essentially izuru-fy him (wonderful foreshadowing potential there, not to imagine the incredible angst of izuru being the thing hajime would hate to be most in the world.) alas i am not a fanfic author so i will sit with my concepts but it is a wonderful daydream with any dangan characters iā€™d highly recommend it :]
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!!! I SCREAM IN UNISON WITH YOU I LOOOVEEE THE DESAIR DISEASE!!!!! MANā€¦ Iā€™M SO OBSESSED WITH HOW YOU INTERPRET AND ARTICULATED THE DESPAIR DISEASEšŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’— The Despair Disease is genuinely so good for analyzing I really do believe Danganronpa 2 Chapter 3 is the best Chapter 3 out of the franchise. I think the reserving of their personalities truly meaning the traits they would hate to have is soo good Iā€™m eating up, sealing it in my heart, and using it forever such a delightful way to explain it. The interpretations on what disease Hajime would get is so fun, Iā€™ve seen some people interpret him getting the honesty disease which is fun in concept but I donā€™t think it works as well as other ideas could, yā€™know? Your ideas for a potential apathy or fawning disease are really fun to me, I like the idea of the fawning disease tapping into how much of a realist he is and giving him the opposite attitude Lol. Thank you so much for sending this itā€™s so fun Iā€™ll be thinking about this forever, I wish I was a fanfic writer aha! I really want to become a fanfic writer, soon with time I suppose. Thank you again for sharing your daydreams with me, youā€™re very right it does have a lot of analysis potential! :D

hi!! odd request could you explain why komahina isnt toxic
IVE BEEN MEANING TO MAKE A POST ABOUT THIS ANON !!!! u read my mind ā€¦.. so the reason why i dont consider komahina to be true and real toxic yaoi is because theyre intended to be mutually healing for each other.
their main, striking similarity is their upholding of danganronpaā€™s harmful societal values on talent. a theme throughout their interactions is komaeda explicitly stating a subconscious belief hajime has and then hajime denying that thereā€™s any similarities in their belief system ā€” everything komaeda says about the inferiority of the talentless is something hajime has always believed, just in a less self aware way. they both end up essentially killing themselves (komaeda in a more literal manner, hajime with the kamukura project) to become something bigger, something worth being called the ultimate hope, because they believe their talent status gives their life no meaning and they feel they have to ā€œmake upā€ for it. theyve always been similar; one sees the other in the things he hates about himself.
this is why, when they fall in love, itā€™s so groundbreaking for their respective arcs. in realizing the similarities in their belief system, hajime becomes more self aware about how stupid his insecurities are. hajime is able to break komaedas worldview by being talentless and inspiring hope/being an equal to his talented peers from 77b, and this makes komaeda realize that, because they are so similar, HE can do that too (side note makoto does this first when he kills junko, but komaeda knows hajime personally/saw hajimes development play out firsthand so its more effective). they feed into each otherā€™s development and are able to grow from it.
theyā€™re not really framed with much toxicity, and you can especially see this with allllll the visual parallels theyre given by the end of the anime. the juxtaposition of hajime grabbing komaedas junko arm to help him out of the pod and hajime grabbing komaedas prosthetic arm to help him onto the boat (paired with the line ā€œletā€™s set off, in the name of hopeā€) symbolizes how interconnected hajime is to komaedaā€™s arc ā€” his journey from old arm to new arm, from despair to hope to future. (and then theres the scene where hajime ditches ghost chiaki for komaeda too. and u see them eating with each other in the credits.) if they were intended to be toxic, they wouldnt have ended on that note.
and THENNNN theres also the fact that hajimeā€™s really the only person capable of loving komaeda, in the beginning. hajime cant get struck down by komaedas luck, because hajimes the only one with ult luck powerful enough to counter komaedas. their lucks cancelling each other out is a concept stressed by the anime with the kamukoma gun scene. heā€™s also the only person with the guts to put in the effort to UNDERSTAND komaeda, a concept stressed in komaedas FTEs. hes the first person that physically can, and the first person thats made the effort. this is groundbreaking for komaeda.
theyre not toxic, they just go through a little angst period that ends up being resolved in the end. hajimes confusion towards komaeda and komaedas confusion towards hajime was necessary, they HAD to figure each other out because in doing that they learn something about THEMSELVES. that process comes with some angsting that is often mistaken for toxicity. of course they cant start dating mid killing game, THAT would have be pretty toxic, because a killing game is not a breeding ground for romance. this is why komahina never canonically starts dating - the time frame doesnt cover enough time for that. but they get two love confessions and the whole first fte is explicitly romantic.

Balloons
A (not so) little Komahina drabble with a Kyouko (and hints of Naegiri) preamble based on this interaction from the Danganronpa Summer Camp game (and yes I 100% bought it and for full price because I'm really silly but I'm so committed for the interactions like JSKAJSKSKA I want them to be happy so bad):
Hajime: You make the flower petals like this, attach the stemā€¦ and there ya go, done! Kyouko: Huh, you're surprisingly dexterous. Kyouko: Would you mind if I took this flower? Hajime: Sure, no problem at all. Kyouko: Thanks. Keep up the good work. Kyouko exits. Hajime: I know it's a fake flower, butā€¦ giving it to a girl is still kinda embarrassing. Hajime: And to Kyouko, no less. I hope she doesn't tell the boys that she got it from meā€¦
The detective thumbs at the rubbery material, indeed appreciating Hajimeā€™s workmanship. He truly does seem capable of plenty, even if it was like a jack of all trades. But oftentimes is better than a master of one. She retorts her silent conjecture. And indeed, it shows in the way his determination seems to spark around people who are motivated in their passions.
It is just like the creation of this flower. The happy yellow it sprouts reminds her of a certain classmate. She has no need to act coy to herself, it is prevalent to her that her emotions have strayed to a place she never anticipated them to go.
Makoto Naegi, the Ultimate Luck. He has shown time and time again he was more than such a title. Every time he asks questions, remarks on a viewpoint she hadnā€™t considered, provides patience and calmness when she is unable to compose herself quickly enoughā€¦ he was endearing and dependable, the type that she canā€™t help but be drawn to in the midst of the chaos that was her detective duties.
Perhaps she will present this flower to Makoto. It may not be overly affectionate, but she knows Makoto enjoys small acts with messages as simple as ā€œbeing thought aboutā€. Itā€™s an idea to scoff at, with his easy going personality being the most digestible compared to her fellow classmates. He is, quite often, considered by everyone as the de facto leader of their class the moment he stepped up in second year. His development was quite admirable and impressive. Everyday, he will be greeted by everyone and talked to in one way or the other.
In that sense, it is easier to dismiss his more anxious side, melancholic and self-loathing. Although caring for others is not very easy for her despite the strides being taken by her classmates, there is something about Makoto that makes her feel adequate in giving him an ear to listen to rather than forcing physical affection.
ā€œKirigiri?ā€ A soft voice pushes through her reverie. Lavender eyes trail up to stark white hair, and a more casual outfit than she has ever seen him wearing. It reflects the setting of the festival however, and she endeavours to say as much-
ā€œI apologize for interrupting you with my presence. I know you must have more important matters than looking upon trash like me,ā€ Kyoukoā€™s mouth closes. Nothing has prepared her to treat this sudden situation. She is aware of Komaedaā€™s low self-esteem and the way it manifests, but she has never been on its receiving end and is uncertain how to proceed. Komaeda continues on regardless, ā€œI saw this flower balloon had flown out of your hands and I managed to get it back in one piece. How lucky!ā€
Indeed, in his hand is the yellow flower balloon that she must have let go of during her musings. She takes it from him and nods. ā€œThank you Komaeda.ā€
He beams. ā€œOh, itā€™s no trouble at all, Iā€™m very happy to help. Itā€™s really the least I could do for an Ult- for such an admirable person.ā€
She notices the intentional slipping of the word ā€œUltimateā€, but does not make any move to indicate her recognition of it. Clearly, it was a habit of his he was trying to stop, if his behaviour is any indication.
ā€œAlthough," Komaeda says, "I did find it strange you had a balloon with you.ā€
ā€œHinata is the one making them. Although his repertoire was limited, he does what he offers quite well.ā€
The Ultimate Lucky student hums, turning his head back in the direction of where Hinataā€™s table was. ā€œReally now? How fascinating.ā€ He looks to the ground, and she wonders what he is pondering about.
She remembers seeing them together often, albeit in passing. She notes that their position relative to the celebration is quite distant, out closer to the beach, but still close enough to see most of the attractions. Hmmā€¦ ā€œFrom what I observed, he still has about half a package of balloons left. Iā€™m quite certain you can get one from him.ā€
Kyouko studies the way Komaeda turns to her warily. She has a hunch now though, and she states, ā€œHe would gladly give you one, regardless of what occurs. I think he will appreciate a more familiar presence supporting him.ā€
Some emotions seem to dart across Komaedaā€™s face, but she cannot process them all in time before it settles. He sighs. ā€œAh, I suppose you figured me out. As expected of the Ultimate Detective!ā€ He praises. She sees the way he glances back to the festival tents. ā€œI suppose I can pay a friend a visit.ā€
She allows herself a smile, hoping it comes off as encouraging. ā€œGood luck.ā€
He laughs. ā€œI sure hope I'll have it.ā€
āœ¦ . 怀āŗ 怀 . āœ¦ . 怀āŗ 怀 . āœ¦
Nagito hugs himself loosely, clutching onto the soft fabric enveloping him as he walks past stands and tents. He looks around, biting his lip. A sigh inevitably escapes, much like his resolve always does.
He listens. Chatter, laughter- so much, so loud... But no cries or sobs. No cracks of wood or thumps of metal. And most thankfully, no screams. Regardless, he checks around him anyway. His presence here can change so many things. He can bring so much despair just by simply existing. Why did he possibly come in here again?
A glimpse of spiky brown hair and a familiar tie fills his vision. Right. It always traces back to Hajime.
The Reserve Course student goes to finish up shaping a red balloon into a flower, and hands it over to the Ultimate Astronaut, although his name escapes him. He can hear the ā€œAwesome!ā€ all the way from where he's standing, which is kind of impressive. The man makes his way to the Ultimate Caregiver, who he immediately tries giving the flower to. She looks pleased. Yet, she shouts ā€œDo you want to die!?ā€ so maybe he misread her?
Nagito turns back to Hajime, whoā€™s already gesturing to him to come over. ā€œHey!ā€ He smiles. ā€œDidnā€™t expect to see you here!ā€
He frowns. ā€œI know that my presence isnā€™t deserved around U-.ā€
ā€œOkay, shut the fuck up. You know Iā€™m just glad youā€™re out here. How are you enjoying it so far?ā€
ā€œAh. What if I said I only came to see you?ā€ He canā€™t help but tease. Hajimeā€™s ears, as predicted, turn red.
ā€œYou canā€™t be serious. Out of everyone else?ā€ that are Ultimates isn't spoken, but heavily implied.
ā€œNow whoā€™s the one who needs to stop talking about status?ā€ He teases.
ā€œH-hey! I didn't even say anything!ā€ Hajime coughs. ā€œI know what youā€™re doing. Donā€™t change the subject.ā€
Nagito hums. ā€œIā€™m not joking though, I did come here because of you. Kirigiri told me you made her flower balloon and I just had to see what that was about.ā€
Upon sharing that info, Hajime averts his gaze, clearly blushing. How interestingā€¦
He feels tempted to smirk, but doesn't in favour of sounding noncommittal, ā€œSomething wrong about what I said, Hajime?ā€
ā€œNope, nothing.ā€ He trails off. ā€œā€¦You donā€™t think sheā€™s told anyone else, do you?ā€
Nagito crosses his arms. Why would Hajime care? Is he embarrassed? How silly. He eyes the bag of balloons and lets out an amused puff. ā€œWell, it certainly benefitted you if she did, considering youā€™ve emptied the whole bag.ā€ The sigh escapes him before he can stop it. He didnā€™t even realize he wanted a balloon before it was taken away.
Just his luck. How disappointing.
ā€œHuh?" Hajime asks. "Itā€™s empty?ā€
He swiftly lifts the bag. "Aha!" He calls out triumphantly. Turns out, under the opaque portion of the packaging sits a deflated green balloon.
Nagito grins. ā€œHow lucky!ā€
Hajime responds with a smirk. He adds as much air as possible to the balloon, and when satisfied, says, ā€œAlright, I know youā€™re going to make fun of me, but I can only manage a flower and a dog. Which one do you want?ā€
Although he probably wouldā€™ve been quick to tease Hajime about his skills ā€œbefitting a Reserve Course studentā€, the mention of a dog makes the words freeze on his tongue.
ā€œA dog would be nice.ā€ Nagito admits.
ā€œOh, sure.ā€ Hajime says, a little disconcerted by the honesty, and his eyebrows are furrowed. Adorable. He doesnā€™t know how Hajime isnā€™t an Ultimate. In a way, he almost likes that he isnā€™t.
Within a few minutes of tanned hands twisting and turning rubber, he is finally presented with a cute little dog.
The ends of his lips tug upwards. He gently grabs the balloon, being extra careful to transport it into his arms.
ā€œThis is wonderful.ā€ He says breathily.
Hajime looks at Nagito, bemused. ā€œYour eyes are sparkling. Iā€™ve never seen you so happy.ā€ And almost as if it was an afterthought, he adds, ā€œIt looks good on you.ā€
What? ā€œH-huh?ā€
ā€œIt seriously canā€™t be that surprising. Itā€™sā€¦ nice to see you happy. Not that you donā€™t already look nice! You tied your hair and even wore a jinbei for the festival. Youā€™re looking pretty good.ā€
The lucky student just stares at Hajime, who grows steadily more red under the gaze. The Reserve Course student swipes his hand through the air, as if that'll somehow dispel the flurry of thoughts going through his head. ā€œAlright, whatā€™s with that look?ā€
ā€œIā€™m glad you think I look ā€˜goodā€™, Hajime." He starts, "I wasnā€™t trying to impress anyone, much less someone like yourself, but I see your eyes would be more used to seeing trash in your everyday life and thinking itā€™s beautiful.ā€
Hajime stares him down. ā€œNagito, anyone at this camp would agree youā€™re good-looking. And I know youā€™re just saying that shit about me being a Reserve Course because youā€™re spiraling a little bit.ā€ Ah. He looks at the ground. ā€œHey, itā€™s fine. We kinda talked about this, remember? I know weā€™re friends.ā€
He doesnā€™t reply. How could he? To be read so easilyā€¦
A warm hand grabs his shoulder. His gaze immediately whips to Hajime's face. ā€œD-donā€™t think too much about this." A flustered Hajime spits out. "Letā€™s just go. Weā€™re going around and enjoying this damn festival together.ā€
How is Hajime Hinata real?
ā€œIs this your way of getting a date, Hajime?ā€ He says playfully instead. ā€œYou could have just asked, you know. Iā€™m sure Chiaki- or anyone else really- would not have declined.ā€
Hajime gives a raised eyebrow at the mention of Chiaki, but doesnā€™t seem to press it. Instead, he goes, ā€œIā€™d rather be here with you, to be honest. I said it already, but itā€™s nice to have you out here. I might as well enjoy it while I can.ā€
Nagito shuts up at that. While judging Hajime the whole time, his face isn't any better, probably looking crimson at this point.
ā€œAnd you dropped this.ā€ Hajime waves the green balloon dog that ended up in his hands. The Ultimate blinks, surprised he had let go of it. However, the wind picks it out of Hajimeā€™s hand and starts carrying it on its currents.
ā€œShit!ā€ Hajime exclaims. He jumps, but it flies out of his reach.
ā€œFuck! Iā€™m sorry Nagito, I didnā€™t mean to lose it.ā€
He easily waves it off with a chuckle. ā€œNo, itā€™s alright. Besides, you could always make another one.ā€
ā€œI mean, honestly, this was pretty fun." Hajime admits, "I wouldnā€™t mind doing it againā€¦ā€
And Hajime trails off, and he knows exactly why, considering heā€™s leaned in in that cutesy way heā€™s seen girls in dramas do. He smirks at Hajimeā€™s bewildered face. While amused, he backs off, as if it was merely an accidental brush.
He sends him an innocent smile. Olive eyes narrow in response, but they face forward again in silent acceptance. It would be quite impressive, if Hajimeā€™s face wasnā€™t flushed.
ā€œThereā€™s a restaurant here. Youā€™re coming with me.ā€
He nods happily.
Things could always be worse because of my luck, but for some reason I feel like, perhaps, I'll be okay. But can I hope? Do I dare hope?
Nothing hurts more than hope getting crushed.
ā€¦But maybeā€¦
Maybe this is worth it.

Pinned Post (RP information)
My main "canon" is filtered through my own interpretation of V3 (I do really like the 'it was all a sim' AU, so that is typically the timeline that I go with). V3 Ult. Survivor Rantaro's answers are in black text (specifically *during* the KG).
Part of my headcanon for that timeline is that game 52 Rantaro, as Ult. Adventurer, probably had a somewhat different personality (why keep your characters the same through two separate games, says Team Danganronpa). You'll just have to find out more about him through the blog. His replies are in green.
Post-game Rantaro (after he dies in the sim and wakes up in the real world) gets blue text.
For anything referencing characters or events outside of V3 main storyline (like Makoto or Hajime), I go with my Hope's Peak University AU (basically the same vibe as Ultimate Summer Camp, but aged up to college because I can be more weird that way). Anything from that AU will be in purple.
Apart from that, I'm really generally open for most things. I do have my personal favorite Rantaro ships (Amamatsu and Amaguji), but I'm also a notorious multishipper. NSFW asks are fine, but I do not interact with anything involving incest or pedo shit or anything like that. Insta block.
I also don't really have anything for THH/SDR2 main canon (despair timeline) so you'll probably just get crack responses.
Have fun, don't be a dick to me or anyone else, and enjoy pestering the bastard avocado man. ā¤ļøšŸ„‘

Thinking about how the Ultimate Hope title is just that, a title.
Like, Makoto only got his title because he defeated Junko. That's it. He defeated Ultimate Despair so he became Ultimate Hope (even tho Kyoko should have that title too because he couldn't have done it without her, we literally have a whole ass separate ending to prove that).
But unlike Junko, and honestly the rest of Ult Despair, he doesn't chase after hope. He just wants an average ass life (boooooooring).
And same goes for Hajime/Izuru. He only has the Ult. title because he has every talent in him. He's Hope's Peaks' hope, so that makes him the Ultimate Hope. (Goes the other way too, once he became their despair, he became Ultimate Despair.)
And nagito doesn't really count bc no one considers him ult hope, except himself that one trial, but if you want to, he gave himself the title when he tried to end the remnants of Ult. Despair, making him an Ult. Hope in a sense.
What I'm getting at here is that the Ult Hope title is very flexible, similar to the Ult. Despair. It can belong to multiple people for different reasons.
So, wouldn't that mean Ryoko could be an Ultimate Hope?
She is literally Junko without her obsession and need for despair. She is Junko's base. Junko came from a version of Ryoko that gave up and embraced despair because it made her feel something. Ryoko is what makes Junko feel despair because Ryoko cares when Junko doesn't. Junko, in a backwards way, HOPES for Ryoko's existence, because then she can experience despair. Without her, Junko could not be Ult despair.
Junko is Ryoko's Ultimate Despair and Ryoko is Junko's Ultimate Hope.

stuff abt my dangan rewrite !
ok so nagito is the protagonist , he's the ultimate assassin , his parents died at a young age and ever since he become a assassin as a way to gain money , hopes peak can protect criminals from the government , if there's a criminal that's ultimate level then hopes peak will recruit them and protect them from the government , nagito gets recruited , he only accepts as a way to run away from the police , not expecting to make friends
NAGITO = protagonist , ult assassin
HAJIME = support , ult child caretaker
CHIAKI = antagonist , ult detective

"she was a prototype for the Kamukura project" ...Bree you can't just SAY that please elaborate I am intrigued šŸ‘€
*vibrating and shaking* OKAY!
Sachiko Ryo was the ultimate lucky student for class 74 (she graduated the year before the sdr2 kids started) by this I mean that she literally just won the lottery and had no talent whatsoever. Part of her requirements to stay in the school were regular meetings with some of the schools higher-ups, ostensibly to monitor her 'progress' but really it was to assess if she really had the talent of luck. After about six months they determined, no, she does not.
Sachiko was then given an opportunity, much the same as Hajime, but a little less complex. How would you like to be lucky for real? After spending almost a year in a class full of other students with REAL talents, it would be nearly impossible to say no, and this was on purpose. they wanted her to feel isolated and alone, to push her towards agreeing to the experiment. It also guaranteed full payment of her tuition and a little monetary incentive for her parents.
So, she took probably a few months off school. Likely the other students were told that it was sick leave. Then when she came back, she actually had a talent! She was actually lucky! Though she also suffers from intense migraines, sleep issues, high depression and paranoia. She is okay the whole time she is at school, things only start getting truly bad after she graduates and moves out of home. Once she is without a support network due both to growing older AND ya know, the TRAGEDY. things take a major turn for the worse.
(i also have a cute idea in my head that in order to take advantage of her new talent, the Hope's Peak Faculty actually let her manage the draw for the next ult Lucky students, semi guaranteeing that they will actually have talents. Hence Naegi and Komaeda coming after her)

chapters 1-5 didnt matter as much as it did in sdr2
(this contains stuff for the rewrite, so read below if you want to)
they couldve gotten down the route where the students get their memories in hpa in bits and pieces, not just hajime
remember what monokuma said? he said that he will return their memories someday when the killings happen
this way, the characters have more characterization and how they were brainwashed by junko
plus, this gives more motive for the future foundation to kill the class 77-b
i thought it was weird for the future foundation to be against the program, where it the remnants will literally get their personalities replaced
(ngl, their hope restoration program kinda sucked)
(like, the plan was to have them all interact with each other, then have them do menial tasks)
(and collecting hope fragments, ie just getting to know each other, does not count as therapy)
(look makoto is great, but the ult therapist shouldve been more involved (i dont even know when she was killed come to think of it) )

servant anon: absolutely dead, he has a fully upgraded izuru but DOESN'T use him bc how could he use the Ult Hope??? he uses his own character bc the Ults are too great not knowing he just boosted his luck even more
actually i feel like komaeda's account would already have servant just bc LMAO, wait, ALL the remnants get their character models
just not kaz, he was the one on the wheel when izuru spun on who to fuck over that day
kaz's game is straight up rigged and hajime is waiting to see how long until he cracks. After the piercings tweet fanart of him goes up by a solid 200% and Komaeda is wondering if being a terrorist wanted by every single nation means he can't file for defamation or copyright or anything

Basically Ult. Hajime's powers have a cabiat and that is. He is only Story Aware as long as that story is considered "Canon" and Hope Timeline is basically Kyoko's fix-it fic and thus. Not canon. So he does not know if they are doing anything to stop him because "They don't count"
Hell yeah! Nice workaround

i think itā€™s interesting that komaeda alludes to chapter 5 as a final battle between hope and despair (the specific scene im remembering is the boat scene but im p sure he says this during the chapter itself too) because to me it reads as another battle between two hopes. both destroying the remnants of despair and forcing them to confront the truth and overcome their past are outcomes of hope. so which will win in the end which is stronger will makoto or munakata emerge triumphant etc etc etc.
but itā€™s the fact that komaeda initially views this as a battle between hope and despair that interests me. from an objective standpoint it WOULD be a battle between two hopes (every trial before 2-5 he describes the class vs blackened dynamic as being a hope vs hope dynamic), so i think its his emotions skewing his worldview. i mean heā€™s distraught and enraged and horrified after finding out the remnants of despair thing, AND his worldview about talent is already falling in on itself because the whole point of being ult despair is using your talents to embody despair, which is against what he believes inā€¦ so of course heā€™d view the outcome of the remnants surviving as despair, because he feels despair towards the remnants. even though the point is that hope will always overcome despair ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½ and wouldnā€™t it be the ultimate instance of hope for the very root of the apocalypse to overcome its despair?
i think komaeda subconsciously understands this, but again, heā€™s just emotional. case in point: 2.5. this is why ive never been angry that 2.5 kinda retcons his motive in the end, when he says he believed hajime would make it to the lowest stratum + generally the fact that komaeda is nonchalant about being woken up, almost as if he knew hajime would win. in his clear mind, heā€™s able to acknowledge his subconscious belief that hajime would win, and that the remnants are the stronger hope. he had faith in hajime to figure out the case.

DanganDJ Multiple Endings
In the worst ending, everyone dies in their executions.
In the slightly better ending, after the executions are over, the students are left on their own. Hiiro and Esora leave, someone has to look after Marika and Saori, and the others are furious and helpless. They want revenge, but the game is over. Esora is even more bent on revenge in light of Reiā€™s death, and Hiiro knows that sheā€™s done all she can do. This is the best outcome. Now all she can do is move on.
In the good ending, Nozomi comes to the rescue. Just as Hiiro finishes explaining that Rika attacked Saori and Marika to get them out of their executions, and that she guaranteed she would not survive her own execution because of it, Junko returns, having been temporarily cast out of Hopeā€™s Pinnacle when Rika first unleashed her firepower.
When Rika struck Saori and Marika, it also struck the monitor Junko was using to broadcast in on. Junko wasnā€™t happy about Hiiro and Rikaā€™s deceit, but before she could do anything, Nozomi also hacked in. As an Ult. Hope, Nozomi felt compelled to crush Junko, an Ult. Despair. Before she can kill the rest of the students, Towa talks to her, imploring Noa Fukushima to remember who she was.
In the best ending, Nozomi reveals that she didnā€™t come alone. Lumina Ichihoshi, Chiaki Nanami, and Alter Ego helped her hack in. There were also other humans trying to break into the academy alongside Nozomi and the AIs and those humans were: Unichord, Abyssmare, Masaru Damon, and Shinobu, all riding in on a giant mecha from Masaru.
After Shinobu escaped her execution, she eventually landed in Towa City where Unichord helped her find the likes of Komaru, the survivors of Makotoā€™s game, the Warriors of Hope, and representatives of the Future Foundation (Abyssmare). They also receive help from Hajime and his survivors thanks to Shinobuā€™s history with, and similarities to, Chiaki.
Because Lumina was designed to be an Ult. Hope and an Ult. AI, she and Nozomi are able to completely delete the Junko bothering them at Hopeā€™s Pinnacle. The students also declare new Ult. Hopes at this time, all of which were listed in a different post. Esora declares that Rei is her personal Ult. Hope.
Epilog: In time, Hope's Pinnacle is restored and Esoran and Nyochio become the new headmasters. Call of Artemis and LMO transfer from Hope's Peak to become the core 8 staff of the new Hope's Pinnacle with the core 6 units acting as the pilot class. (This occurs after Hajime and crew flee to Jabberwock while Makoto takes over Hopeā€™s Peak).
Every D4 student is able to attend because, with their consciousnesses stored in Pinnacle servers, the only thing they needed were bodies and Esora gave them robots.
Abyssmare is also transferred to Hope's Pinnacle. They were supposed to be some of the first students of the overseas campus until the Tragedy turned the overseas campus into the Future Foundation. Ibuki left the FF in the hands of Abyssmare while she went out trying to find all of her missing unit mates.
In her absence, the FF nearly fell apart as Abyssmareā€™s endless internal conflicts allowed a shady board of Hopeā€™s Peak representatives to slide in and steal power away from them. That led to the final Killing Game Makoto went through, but once it was over, he was able to rescue Abyssmare and bring them to Japan to help fight the Tragedy there. Now, they are studying how to be proper Ultimate students from their Japanese classmates until the day finally arrives for them to return home to America, when the overseas campus is finally, officially finished. Unichord, meanwhile, is finally old enough to attend Hopeā€™s Pinnacle, having been in the middle school division for most of the DR storyline.
