x-men '97 spoilers

ep 1(To Me, My X-Men)

wow. i just finished x-men animated series. last eps were different than the other seasons. im glad they made this Show story wasnt ober yet. this new start is so good. artstyle is amazing. The visual effects were so cool. everything is great. it was fun. cyclops is struggling. There's a lot of pressure on him. and he is leaving x-men with Jean. Jean is pregnant. Charles really left everything to magnus?! and why is bishop still there i get that timeline is not right but they are not doing a certain thing to fix it. and im glad morph is back. and rogue and gambit i love them. logan and morph's friendship is nice.

ep 2(Mutant Liberation Begins)

Why did they suddenly start calling Magnus Erik? Okay, Erik is also his name i know, but they used to call him Magnus. Erik is an honorable man. I want to believe and trust him. I hope he doesn't have any evil plans. We'll see what happened between rogue and magneto. storm lost her Powers while trying to save magneto. magneto tried. he really did. humans suck(most of the times-in most of the universes). they dont deserve them. dr. rogue and baby is here. scott is being nice to magneto. its good for now. but not for long probably. ororo left. gambit's heart is broken. and 2 jean's?! I cried in the last two minutes of the episode more than I ever cried in the first 5 seasons. It was more painful. it happened in a much more perfect way. it was beautiful. I guess this is what happens when an animated series is made for adults. i really love it.

ep 3(Fire Made Flesh)

Why is Roberto in the mansion? Is he there to hang out with jubilee or is he staying there now? Since when is jean a clone? goblit queen is so powerfull. baby is gone. Madelyne is one but i think we'll see her again someday. hi, forge. i hope this is really forge and he can help storm.

ep 4(Motendo/Lifedeath - Part 1)

I want to see more gambit and rogue. and I want to see nightcrawler. not mojo again🤦🏻‍♀. jubilee's powers are cool. storm:(. i hope she can get her Powers back. i love forge. he did something bad but he wants to redeem himself. i hope he can.

ep 5(Remember It)

this Show makes me so happy. kurt is here. genosha is beautiful. mutants live in peace. madelyn is here. and i got gambit rogue and kurt:). I can't feel nostalgic. I just finished the x-men animeted series yesterday but this is so perfect. its just perfection. i love them so much. this Show pays tribute to what the other has done and takes it even further. I can only ask for more episodes, there is nothing else I can ask for(except maybe more gambit and rogue). scott is right. If the x-men were like humans, I think they would start thinking like the old Magneto. The x-men did not think about themselves, they always prioritized others. but in the end they were always hated. I don't understand how they can still do this. How do they hold on, how do they compromise themselves for those who still hate them? Mutants(not the bad ones) deserve great things, but all they get from the world they're trying to save is hatred. and scott is losing his fate in charles vision. he lost his son. his wife was a clone. There's a lot going on for Scott right now. but I hope he can get over this as soon as possible. jean kissed logan! she is confused to she has to remember so that she can be with scott again. and then maybe jean and scott could help eachother get better. i like seeing scott's eyes. scott is right i am not sure jean loves scott anymore. she remembers she loved him but i dont think she feel that way anymore. scott loves madelyn because she was jean and part of her is still jean. idk everything is complicated. it is painful to watch. i just want them all of them to be happy. but there's so much going on right now. I wanted gambit and rogue to be together. They were so beautiful together. But Magneto may be right, I can't be angry with him. But I just wish Rogue and Gambit could be more than friends. too many people are heartbroken rogue, gambit, jean, scott, (me). Did I just see Watcher? after gambit and rogue's talk. i think i did. i wish things were simple. cable is nathan. Why was he there and why did he leave? erik is gone. gambit is dead. they saved rogue. so many mutant died. leech trusted magneto. magneto gave hope to mutants and everything was great, i had hope things were getting better. mutants on genosha were happy. magneto he tried. he tried to save them. he tried to be like Charles. but World just wont let them be this good. he really tried. Would I be too delusional if I hoped that Remy and Erik would return? I need them both back. i cant feel you, this tells everything(reminds me of wanda). I knew it the moment I saw rogue touching gambit. I wish things could have happened differently. i knew I haven't cried this much while reading or watching a story in a long time. This episode really broke me. I'm not in a good mood. The world doesn't deserve X-Men. they never deserved the x-men and will never deserve them. Whatever the x-men do now, they will almost always be right.

ep 6(Lifedeath - Part 2)

lilandra and Charles are good together im happy for them. but i wouldnt mind if they come to earth and save x-men. storm and forge they are cute. but it probably wont last long, i wish it could last. i hope Charles can learn about what erik did. professor xavier, that was smart. yes, storm got her Powers back. Charles is Charles. i love him. his ideals are amazing but they are just ideas. to make them real they suffer they try and they fail over and over again. im glad hes returning to earth but it is too late. and things in spece wont be good when he left. and sinister! sinister killed all those mutants adn remy and erik. i hope he will have a painfull and an awful ending to his story.

ep 7(Bright Eyes)

not a funeral, please he has to come back. hi cap. normally i would say it is nice to see you but right now you're just reminding me how ridiculous mutant hatred is. Yes, there are people who hate superheroes too, but mutant hatred is on another level. And this is ridiculous. rogue is right to be mad. Humans expect mutants to compromise themselves in order to live with them, and they require this. Because humans are afraid of mutants, mutants have to hide their powers and not use them so that people do not feel threatened. Why do mutants follow their rules? because they are good. The "bad ones" don't suppress their power just because people want them to. But when it comes to humans, mutants who live their own nature as they wish are evil. i love kurt and rogues relationship. it feels good to see the X-Men being together and helping each other through all this bad stuff. oppenheimer… now i am become death the destroyers of worlds. trask destroyed all those mutants lifes. i cant say he didnt deserved death but rogue, she let him die. this is not who x-men is, at least WHO they were. she is angry she is grieving she is not in her right mind right now. if she was herself she wouldnt have let him die. i saw the sign for Strak Industries. I wish we could see Tony. In which universe, in which timeline are we right now? Is Tony dead here too? magneto is alive. bastion? i dont know anything about him i guess ill see. scott learned about cable.

ep 8(Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 1)

is madelyne dead? i thought she just get hurt not dead. kurt with swords, I've been waiting for this. Everything is in a very bad state right now, but this visuality and the fights are beautiful. Jean being a mother to cable(seatbelt:) ). wolverine's fight in the skys. yes! summers family. it was so cool. hi peter. but really magneto was right. Charles was just being naive. humans are the wortst. i wish humans and mutants could live together in peace but humans wont let them. mutants deserve better. Charles is back. It wasn't Magneto who started the war. humans wanted this war from the beginning. Mutants and X-Men have been patient, but now it's too much, how much longer should they be patient? It would be really nice if there was peace, but as long as people have this hatred, it seems impossible to make peace. Bastion ignited the war, but whether he started or not, the war would still happen one day. I hope the mutants can win. magneto can win. I think Charles is late. Before the war, they could have tried to implement Charles' ideals, but it was too late. The war has begun and mutants need a leader in the war and that leader must be Magneto.

ep 9(Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 2)

Why is everyone mad at Magneto? I understand humans being angry, it's usual hatred, but why are the x-men so angry? Okay, the order of the world has been disrupted, life has become difficult, the end of the world may even be near, but Magneto saved the mutants. If he had not done this, the mutants would probably have died. I've never been one for villains, I've rarely agreed with them. and this is one of those rare moments. magneto is right. I don't think he is the villain in this story bastion and humans are the bad guys. im glad rogue went with him. charles' ideals are nice to think but its impossible right now. we need magneto. black lether, I completely forgot this scene was coming. x-men are noble they are still trying to do the right thing(according to them). I'm still amazed at how they can endure so much and still try to do good. morph smash:) I wish mutants didn't fight each other. but really i wanted to say shut up to Charles when magneto did. things are bad, really bad. When I started watching '97', I thought I would watch something fun and light. I never thought it would be this dark. Logan should have at least thought once before attacking Magneto with his metal skeleton. He probably won't die, but I think this is an indication that Magneto didn't want to hurt them before. If he wanted to, he would have done this years ago, but he prioritized mutants and didn't want to harm mutants. Now he had to harm the X-Men to save many other mutants. scott confused me, yes the others needed time but why did this happen? Is Jean dead? forge and storm will surive too right?

ep 10(Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 3)

ironman! I wasn't surprised when I saw Ironman with Captain America, but Daredevil caught me off guard. Daredevil is one of my favorite Marvel characters. Is Doctor Strange in surgery?! wakanda! cloak and dagger! this cameos are amazing i hope we can see things like that in live action. I hope mister sinister is gone for good. t'chaka is black panther. Charles destroyed magnus. i hope he can bring him back. bastion is right, humanity would rather die than have kids like mutants. and that why i dont like them. mr. fantastic(morph but still its nice to see him)! humans say we did it. But all they do is bring about the end of the world over and over again. x-men saved the world, magneto saved, mutants saved the world. humans only made it a worse place. wanda and quicksilver off World? where are they? bishop. yes save the x-men. i need season 2 immediatly. x-men scattered through time. They found Nathan. en sabah nur(Apocalypse!!!). At least the series didn't end in a bad place. They defeated Bastion and Sinister. They fell apart, but they're not in a bad situation right now. When is gambit coming back? he has to come back.

this Show is amazing. Characters from MCU and X-Men are in the same universe together. It was very beautiful. I hope we can see more. I can watch so many seasons this way.

My Prince Model 2023

wow....it's been a bit since the last Loud House fanart I've drawn...I was looking back at the old posts I made here on Tumblr and looking at my old Loud House art felt nostalgic. I haven't drawn Loud House since 2018 and don't expect me to draw Loud House again. I just wanted to doodle something from that time I know i'll never finish. My Prince Model: A comic I made based upon a childhood manga called Instant Teen Just Add Nuts. It was a story where Lola Loud wanted to just get an autograph from a famous model name "Lexx"ington and shenanigans' happened. And people somehow still didn't get the joke....and thought it...was Lincoln....i swear you people. I discontinued it because I left the Loud House Fandom due to me starting another project and also getting depressed and uncomfortable being in the fandom. I do still connect with like....two people who were apart of the Loud House fandom since we moved on to better things in life. I do still watch the show sometimes. Not like what I use to though. The show has gotten too predictable now.

NGL, also looking at my Luna Loud animatic and the Clyde Mother's Day post I made did make me emotional. And I do miss drawing the Loud House Boys/Genderbent Loudhouse. It was during a time I wanted to fit in with a community after finishing college and I felt loneliness art wise. And I am glad I made a couple friends I still connect with to this day. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this Loud House piece. Please don't repost. You can repost my Pokemon gijinkas WITH CREDITS PLEASE, but I don't want my Loud House work reposted. I appreciate it.

dang. hmm. i like the hard highlights in each piece (like, those big white rectangle highlights on top of everything) :D i really really love how highlights look in art which is why i do it, and it makes me feel like im getting to the artstyle ive always wanted :)

Chapter 7: Old Friends, New Friends

The journal was an absolute treasure, more precious than any of the human books and thingamabobs she had acquired from the Owl Lady throughout the years. It was an obvious labour of love, the illustrations filled with detail and the text, oh the text! It was written in a way that's both easily digestible and informational, on top of being incredibly flowery and picturesque. 

As soon as Selena was back in the bakery, she excused herself to her little apartment, letting Katya (who had finally came in apparently just a mere 15 minutes after she left) run customer service again while the kitchen took care of everything else, and was inhaling the journal, page by page by page. And by the Titan, she could wax poetic about all the ways she was in love with this book.

And she couldn’t put her finger on why , but something about the illustrations and the text, it felt almost…nostalgic? 

She wondered if the Emperor ever wrote a children's book under a pen name, something she may have come across in the library at a younger age. I mean, he wasn’t always an Emperor, right? Or maybe he just had a classical artstyle, probably one he copied from the same books she may have read as a child.

Selena promised to return the book in a decent enough time-frame, refusing to hog it for too long. Both because it would be considered rude and because she felt uncomfortable keeping something from the Emperor in her home, no matter how amazing the thing may be. So she was thinking of maybe taking the Friday off and putting together a three day weekend, to dedicate it to copying everything she could need from it.

As she read (and re-read) the journal, only coming down to the bakery once around lunch time to find a pastry to be her meal and check in on Katya, the light from outside turned to a more golden hue and the shadows grew longer and darker.

A knock on the hatch door broke her away from the journal “It’s open!”

The hatch lifted to reveal Katya, out of the apron uniform and with a rucksack on her back “Hey, it’s closing time boss, I’m about to head out.”

Selena’s head quickly turned towards the nearest clock, her eyes instantly widening when seeing how late it was “Oh, oh wow. Yeah, it really is closing time. Damn, I lost track of time.” Katya climbed up fully, sitting on the edge of the hatch opening. Her eyes zeroed in on the journal in the witch's hands.

“Yeah, you full on zoned out my dude. What is that book you’re reading, anyway?” As soon as she asked, Selena shut the journal audibly.

“Something to help with the human recipes.” she quipped “It’s an old book of ingredients from the Imperial library I was allowed to borrow. The Emperor insisted I take it so I can make him more diverse snacks.”

Katya’s jaw dropped “Wait, he let you borrow his book? The Emperor?”

“Yup.”

“Are you sure we’re talking about the same witch? Emperor Belos, really tall and really scary?”

Not missing a beat, Selena shrugged nonchalantly “He’s suffering from a massive sweet-tooth, I guess.”

The bard clicked her tongue in annoyance “I don’t like this.”

“No one is happy about this, least of all me.” Selena put the journal away in her nightstand and made sure to lock the drawer. “But that’s life, sometimes it sucks and sometimes it really sucks.” she turned back to Katya “Anyway, thanks for today, you’re free to go. Actually, I’m gonna be taking a three day weekend, so I’ll see you again on Monday!”

“Wait, for real?!” Katya seemed to forget her previous worries, eyes sparkling with excitement “Aw nice , boss! I’ll finally have some time to catch up on my writing~” she winked and started going back down, super excited to start her extended weekend “I cleaned up and everything, so don’t worry about that! See ya boss!”

And just like that, she was gone. Though she didn’t close the hatch door behind her, annoyingly so, making Selena grumble at the realisation she was going to have to get out of her little blanket nest she made in bed to do so. While she hated omitting the truth from Katya in this manner, no matter how much she disliked the Emperor, a secret she promised to keep was not one she intended to blabber. And besides, she wanted to be kept in his good graces. 

Keep your enemies close, as they say.

She continued snuggling in her perfect blanket nest for a bit longer, the cup of tea she made still deliciously warm where she held it on her lap. Even without the journal as an excuse, she grew more content with the idea of a long weekend. Sure, they worked short hours during Saturdays and were closed Sundays, but three full days off? Man, that’s lush. She couldn’t wait to sleep in and just stay in her pyjamas. It’s been a while since she actually took a surprise holiday weekend like this. Despite the warm feeling that thought gave her, a shiver still shook her body, forcing her to remember the open hatch. 

Oh right. She should really close that, the draft coming through was becoming noticeable.

Letting out a loud groan of annoyance, she dragged herself out of bed and the countless pillows surrounding her, the blanket still tightly wrapped over her shoulders to tactically keep as much warmth as possible from escaping. Too lazy to put on slippers, the socks she wore cushioned each step against the hardwood floors. Knees and ankles creaked in protest as she crouched down, leaning over to grab the hatch door…

…Only for her heart to freeze and drop all the way down to her knees when she caught a glimpse of a figure standing near the ladder downstairs, hidden in shadows.

The scream of terror died in her throat, only coming out as a particularly sharp inhale of air, the split-second of fear made her feel like jumping out of her skin, and without even thinking about it she summoned the spirit out of her ring, the violet apparition body-slamming into whoever was standing down there in a blink of an eye and pinning them to the floor.

The person flattened to the floor let out a pained grunt. A very…familiar, pained grunt. It made her pause completely, blinking owlishly as she tried to make out who it was that broke in.

“...Darius?” she gasped out as the fear left her struggling to catch her breath.

Looking up at her from under the spirit who left him unable to move, was Darius Deamonne, managing to look both grumpy and unamused “Good evening, Lena. Quite the welcome, I must say.”

Selena invited him up, of course. As soon as she helped him back up from the floor where she had pinned him down to earlier, that is. Both witches grumbling at each other in aggravation: Selena scolding Darius for breaking in after closing hours, and Darius very displeased by the violent way he was greeted. “You nearly gave me a heart attack! Has no one ever taught you not to sneak up on people in their home?!” Selena hissed and put a cup of tea in front of him. No matter how mad, hospitality was ingrained deep into her brain. “How did you even get in?!!”

Darius rolled his eyes “I morphed in through the kitchen passage, of course."

“You morphed in through the-” Jaw dropping, Selena squinted her eyes at him “How do you know about the kitchen passage?”

“Oh come now, Lena, Sitrie lived in this apartment during our mentorship years, do you think he wouldn’t have told me about it?”

The girl felt like she was taking crazy pills "Darius, you broke into my house! I have no doubts you and Alador used to sneak in to hang out here while my brother used the apartment, but I live here now. Me. Not Sitrie. You can't just waltz in-"

"Please, like I would ever willingly hang out with that hack -"

"Ap-ap-ap!" She tutted loudly, cutting him off "I don't care about your weird rivalry with Alador, we aren't discussing that right now. We are talking about how youbroke into my home and youscared me nearly to death!" She let out a sound, somewhere between a groan and a screech, wishing to take a pillow and scream into it right now, but it would be rude. Instead, she let herself fall into the chair opposite of her uninvited guest, who just stared at her with an unamused look.

Darius watched as she put her head in her hands, messy mop of hair completely obscuring her face "Are you quite finished?"

Selena gave an affirmative grunt, straightening up in her seat and fixing her hair. One deep breath, hold it in - one, two, three - and let it out. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company this evening, Darius?"

He seemed to regard her for a moment or two, gears turning in his head as the younger witch put all her energy not to flinch under his glower. Even back in the day, whilst she was a giggly crushing school girl, Darius intimidated her, more so than Alador. And with time spent apart, his overpowering aura only grew and became more suffocating to deal with. Just by being in the same room, one was forced to acknowledge his presence.

“I think we both know why I’m here.” he drawled, one hand raising up to turn the cup of tea she served earlier so it wasn’t so obscenely askew “How long have you been the Emperor’s private little delivery girl, Selena?”

It’s not that she wasn’t expecting this to come up, not at all, but did he have to phrase it that way?

Somehow looking to distance herself, Selena leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms, her body language instantly becoming closed off and protected “I wouldn’t call it that…” she muttered, trying not to portray that he was definitely riling her up.

“What would you call it then, if I may ask?” the conjurer raised one eyebrow, lips in a snarl. The condescending tone of his voice did little to quell her temperament.

“I deliver pastries, that’s it!” she finally snapped back “I am not his private little delivery girl , and I’m not his little baker or whatever other demeaning name pompous men will think to use on me next!” she hunched up her shoulders, nails digging into her arms “I am doing my damned job! Hell, I didn’t even want to do this in the first place! The Golden Guard had to snitch on me to Belos, now I’m stuck making deliveries whenever his majesty demands it!” Finishing her tirade, she slumped back into her seat with enough gusto to make the chair scrape loudly against the hardwood floor. And both stayed silent, uncomfortably so. Her own breathing sounded offensive to her with how loud it sounded. Suddenly feeling self-conscious, Selena cleared her throat “It’s been…a stressful couple of weeks, now I'm blowing up at you. I’m sorry."

Darius let out a sigh "No, I feel the apology should be coming from me." He sounded sincere, toning down his usual arrogance quite noticeably "Let us try this again, with cooler heads: How did you get roped into this?"

And with cooler heads, and apologies offered, she told him. The entirety, from the beginning; from the Golden Guard who heckled her over wild witches and Midnight, to her trying to win her way over in to his good graces with a bribe of baked goods made according to a human cookbook, to those same baked goods making it into the clutches of the Emperor, who has developed a taste for them and an interest in her. Which is where she was now, the only person allowed to deliver from her bakery, straight into the Emperor’s awaiting arms. And she wasn’t gonna lie, it felt good to let it out, all at once, to someone other than Katya.

She left out anything inconsequential, naturally. Darius didn’t need to know about the Emperor’s trip to the human realm, nor the journal he gave her, he didn’t need to know about Midnight, and he definitely didn’t need to know about the Emperor’s peculiarly weird…fondness of her.

The coven head seemed deep in thought as he tapped his index finger against the rim of the cup of tea, wheels turning in his head.

“That is…” he clicked his tongue, picking out his words carefully “...unfortunate, to say the least.” Selena let out a humm in agreement with his quite perceptive conclusion “And I don’t assume there is any way to bail out of this arrangement, either.” when she shook her head no, he sighed “No, I thought not.” finally picking up the cup of tea Selena made for him earlier he continued “How are your folks handling this?”

“They don’t know.”

He paused just before the cup reached his lips “They don’t know?!” The tone was both surprising and accusatory. 

Darius knew her family, and very well if he might add. Ursula’s children were all incredibly protective over their mother, a fondness that he himself saw how it grew after the untimely death of their father, and for it they made sure to be honest and open with their mother about everything happening to them. If not with their mother - which only would happen if they were scared it might stress her out - then it was shared between the siblings themselves. They were close-knit, to the point even he had been somewhat envious of it.

Sure, he thought, he didn’t keep in close contact with Sitrie as they grew older, and with it meant he hadn’t seen much of his mother or two younger sisters, but this was incredibly out of character. 

“No, are you insane?! If mom knew, she’d absolutely lose it.” Selena ran her hand through her hair “She was okay with handing me the bakery so I’d stay out of trouble, not land myself in…whatever this mess of a situation is!”

Ah, so it was a “don’t stress mom out!” situation. That made more sense. “You realise it’s only a matter of time before Magnus finds out, right?”

“Yeah, but my uncle isn’t a blabbermouth. He kept a lot of stupid things I did while under his mentorship a secret, so I’m hoping when he does find out, he won’t go running to mom instantly.” she crossed her arms, grimacing 

“I think this may be a bit too big for him to stay quiet for long.”

“...I know.”

The conversation died off after, both mulling over their tea in their thoughts.

“He seems…” Darius seemed to hesitate, as if unsure how to put it in a non-offensive way “... fond of you.”

“He is not!”

The speed and intensity at which Selena barked that out actually made Pip wake up from his little nest on the night table near her table. Grumpy from being awoken, he let out a weird guttural caw, as if chastising Selena for being so loud.

“Lena, a blind man could see it, plain and apparent as the light of day.” he continued, the woman instantly letting out an indignant gasp “It’s obvious you have earned yourself a spot in the Emperor’s good graces. Better in his good graces than in his bad ones, that’s certain.” he muttered out the last one as he finally, finally took a sip from his tea “Oh, this is really good, actually. What blend is this?”

“Oh, it’s a black tea blend with calendula and moonflower.” she chirped enthusiastically, only to frown “Hey, don’t change the subject!”

“I don’t need to change the subject, there simply isn’t much to discuss.” Darius concluded, taking another sip “The Emperor finds your presence to be pleasant , which isn’t something many people on the Boiling Isles can say. You can pretend it isn’t so until you turn blue in the face, but there is no escaping the facts.”

Selena tsk’d in annoyance “He’ll grow bored, I’m sure.” the witch scoffed “Of me, that is. Like a shiny trinket that’s turned dull with time, so will the novelty of a baker making human pastries wear off. Not like I’m particularly interesting, apart from that.”

The other witch chuckled deeply, amused by her words “I do admire your self-deprecating optimism, quite a fun oxymoron to behold.” with that, he reached one hand over the table, putting it over her own which she held in a fist on the wooden surface, giving a reassuring squeeze “However, if the Emperor’s… company proves to be overwhelming, know that the palace has friends you can count on.”

It was an earnest gesture, one that made Selena’s heart clench involuntarily. She couldn’t help the smile that took over her face, suddenly feeling incredibly safe. Returning the gesture, she put her free hand over his “Thank you, Darius.” she replied softly, fearing that being louder would ruin the heartfelt moment.

Allies- no, friends , in the palace.

Knowing that, the morning ritual suddenly didn’t feel so daunting anymore.

Selena had sent him off not too long after that, letting him finish his tea and packing him some leftover pastries for later. Darius tried declining, but it fell on deaf ears, the woman already pushing the box into his hands and saying she wasn’t having it and to stop complaining. He got intense flashbacks to all the time her mother would do the same when he was younger, it was the same flavour of aggressive kindness. While Darius was fully ready to just use his abominations to transport through the passage, the Fortuna made him wait, saying he could use the trap door like a “normal person” and not “goop around”. So he was forced to wait, visibly annoyed, as Selena cleared out the pots and pans that were in the cupboard where the hidden passage was. He hated walking through the grimmy passageway, it was full of dirt and cobwebs and crawling creatures, all so filthy . But, there was no arguing with Selena, it would seem.

Since when was she so bull-headed? The Selena he used to know couldn’t be assertive to save her life, she was a timid, nervous wreck of a teenager, too worried about doing anything foolish others could tease her about.

Then again, he thought, she was a teen. It’s been a lot of years since then.

“ If you plan on visiting, I’d prefer it if you tried using the front door.” Selena huffed at him, a bit out of breath after finally cleaning everything out and removing the fake bottom. “However, I suppose just starting to randomly visit, especially since I think there still might be scouts around my house, is not optimal, so I’m gonna be keeping the hidden entrance clear from now on.” she stood up and cleaned the dust off of her hands before crossing them, giving him an annoyed frown  “Just try not to sneak in like a mad man like you did today. My heart can't take it.”

“Of course, of course.” he held up his hands defensively “You are really on edge, though, you should try looking into some self care. A spa day would do wonders on your fraying nerves.”

“I thought you were breaking in. No amount of magic mud on my face would help with that stress, Darius.”

Already half-way in, Darius gave her a smart aleck look “Don’t knock it till you try it, kid .” almost on cue, he saw her anger flare up again. She was super easy to rile up, if one knew where to push. The moment didn’t last long, as Darius felt someone grab his legs from below and pull him down the hole, a yelp of surprise escaping him as it did. And once again, he found himself hitting the floor back-first, only this time it was worse somehow, as his fall stirred up a cloud of dirt and dust, leaving his pristine clothes absolutely filthy.

“Huh–huh-huh, oh you’re just a little kid , so funny - I pay taxes, jerkwad.” he heard Selena mock him from above.

The cloud made him hack and cough and he quickly sat up, trying to lift his head above it. He saw Selena’s Spirit retreat back up into her ring as she hung above through the hatch. The blasted thing pulled him down. It had enough decorum to gently put down the box of snacks, tho.

“Truly you are a beacon of hospitality.” he deadpanned. Selena scrunched up her face indignantly before sticking out her tongue “And so mature! Surely, you showed me.”

“Oh! Just-shut up!” she huffed. The hatch shut and Darius was left alone in the passageway. As the darkness enveloped him, so did his face twist into an uneasy frown. 

He didn’t like this. Not at all.

The second he saw her, marching into that throne room like a fury from hell, he recognized Selena. How could he not, sure she was much older, her hair shorter and eyes now sparkling behind a pair of glasses, but you don’t forget the annoying kid sister of a childhood friend that easily, especially one that was persistently trotting behind like a little lost duckling, her long braids bouncing with every exaggerated tiny step she took.

A little duckling who seemed to have grown into a swan…with the temperament of a ferocious goose-beast.

Whose sole presence was enough to stop the Emperor in his tracks and abandon Darius solely for her company.

This…was a development that complicated things in ways he never would have thought possible. Emperor Belos doesn’t grow such fascinations easily. Not since he had known the man. Not since his late mentor had known the man, either.

He remembered his mentor saying “The Emperor is not a kind man, Darius. Not to no one.”

And yet there he was, body language changing, voice softening, a tone he never heard from his lips before, all as soon as the youngest Fortuna had his attention.

Despite life giving way to a growing distance between the two, Darius felt a certain sense of loyalty to his old friend, and not only to him, but his family he knew well. Even to his annoying baby sister. And seeing the claws of Emperor Belos dig into her shoulders as he pulled her close, threatening to almost hide her under his cloak like a trinket he selfishly wanted to keep for himself, to engulf her whole and hide her from sight. Her eyes widening in shock, grip so hard it made her fingers turn white, form so small next to him. 

It made him filled with unease and anger. 

Those wretched claws, that once were digging into his mentor, ones he was certain were responsible for him leaving this world far too soon, were now moving their grip to another person he promised a long time ago to keep safe.

It made him feel sick.

Despite Selena being adamant about not telling her family, Darius was not going to sit idle and wait - he’d make sure Magnus found out. The Fortuna was one of his rare allies at the palace, along with Eber, and so he knew his schedule well. He would make sure he was there at the same time as Selena. That way, he wouldn’t break Selena’s trust, at least, not in a way she’d find out. Eberwolf, as well, he mussed, he’d tell the beastling to keep an eye on her.

The iron claws of the Emperor were already too deep in for him to remove without causing damage.

All he could do now was make sure the talons didn’t rip through the ribcage and tear into the heart.

Been watching some more controversial older yuri anime and wow i get why maria holic is so controversial but also. My pea brain really can't comprehend maria as a boy so it's like I've got shock absorbers in for the worst of it.

Also i think their relationship would be more stable if kanako was allowed to just beat his ass sometimes. Like damn girl you uprooted a tree, why you scared of pipsqueak here (yeah ik money but also. He's gotta be like 5' 2" come on. And I don't think the maid cares enough to fight back as long as bruising is out of sight)

With shock absorbers on it's just way more fun than it should be, horrendous queer rep for anyone who worries about that and i would not recommend to anyone who isn't ready for the shock. But also, at least as of a few episodes in, it's just so good at keeping your attention and making a spectacle. If maria never gets better i could see it getting annoying though (just beat his ass kanako).

Feels weird to be able to compartmentalize the bits i do like and don't like about a show so thoroughly tho. I didn't used to be able to do that, but nowadays it just feels second nature. Like it feels weird seeing ppl complain relentlessly about how something was ruined because of smth small when you can just acknowledge it and put it on the scale with the larger whole. If it's heavier than the good I'll probably not like a show enough to finish, if it isn't I'll probably enjoy it

I'm surprised i never watched candy boy in middle school, but now that I'm watching it it still somehow feels nostalgic. I think it's the artstyle, it just feels so fluffy. Not nearly as fun as maria holic but also despite the twincest it's still probably the less controversial choice lol.

What really gets me is like. Why not just let sakuya join in? You're already kissing your sister i think polyamory is a step down as far as taboo goes lol. idk i’m bored rn so here’s some webtoon comics that i’m following 👍 this isn’t in order of favorites—just by when they were updated. i don’t search webtoon a lot cuz it’s hard for me to find stuff i enjoy, but these ones caught my attention at some point. here are some short thoughts about each:

Straylight Tiger: i’m want to see where the plot goes because what’s been established in the world so far is pretty interesting! and the artstyle is cool.

Marionetta: the newest 1 i added to the list for similar reasons to above. mc is kinda a butt rn but it’s obvious she isn’t going to stay that way and i want to see how she grows. the character designs are really cute too.

Jupiter-Men: reading this reminds me of watching teen titans and reading teen superhero comics as a kid. the artstyle is nostalgic for me.

Stagtown: I NEED TO KNOW IF THEY GET OUT. i need to know what the hell is up with this town!! get these characters out and into a therapist’s office my god!!!

Here There Be Dragons: the artstyle and the character designs are mwah chef’s kiss and also mc is a badass trans woman with badass dragon magic powers. sometimes the story seems a little rushed in places but wow i just really like looking at the mc her design is so cool.

Everything is Fine: i just really really need to know what is up with the world in this story. who or what is responsible for everything? is the whole planet affected or is it isolated to a country? why is this happening? everything is NOT fine.

Is chair still in the park?: again, like with most of these, i’m invested in the established world because there is some interesting shenanigans going on. and i like the chair. the way the story is being told is unique too (it’s from the chair’s perspective). i will not say whether or not the chair is still in the park.

Miez: again it’s my need to know the answer to the mysteries. i haven’t really gotten attached to any character in particular but it’s got a mech-ish sci-fi feel that i like. and i NEED to KNOW.

Suitor Armor: i love the character designs and the artstyle and i’m invested in the story! i usually avoid webtoon romance stories but the characters are really fun and cute and the established world is really interesting. also the romance is between a fairy and a sentient suit of armor which is fun.

Gather Ye Power: the art is banger in this and it’s hilarious and the mc is such a dumb strong idiot (affectionate). it doesn’t update frequently but when it does you’re in for some SHENANIGANS lemme tell ya.

Sonic the Comic Liveblog: Issue 6

Oooh, the death egg! Sounds like a fun story. Also, I swear Sonic in this exact pose has already been on a previous cover.

Wow, I love this artstyle! It certainly leans more into Japanese Classic era Sonic art, while still retaining uniqueness. The background on this particular panel is also nice and detailed but coloured in a way that doesn’t distract from Sonic and Tails I can also see that we’re really starting to lean heavily into influences from the Sonic Bible, neat.

Huh, the death egg is literally egg shaped. Makes sense I suppose.

It’s funny how in this comic Tails has gone from just being a pretty helpless kid to being the pilot. But to be fair though it’s not like the games ever explained why Tails was a good pilot other than like an implication of it being more or less a special interest. Another interesting thing to note is that since this is Kintobor’s former lab, were these planes his? No other media really explains where Sonic got the Tornado from so this is as good as any.

That’s rude Sonic, he’s just trying to be nice :(

Man, I was praising the art earlier but Sonic seems to just have the same expression in most of these panels, a bit disappointing.

Although it’s revealed on the next page that Sonic escapes unharmed just fine, this is a nice moment of characterisation of Sonic being heroic and being protective of Tails.

And I laughed again at this. Y’know I think this joke has gotten me more than other jokes at Tails’ expense because it feels like it’s making fun of tropes about sidekick characters more than anything else.

I rather liked that story. It had decent art, feels bigger than previous issues, and actually made me chuckle a few times.

The news section talks about 8-bit releases of Desert Strike which… I actually didn’t know was a thing. But when I was a kid my dad used to play the Mega Drive versions of this and Urban Strike all the time so I consider these games pretty nostalgic.

I assume this must just be her jumping animation in the games or something, but it’s hilarious how this lady in the Golden Axe comic is always somersaulting.

naruto blogging part 3.

naruto actually has a couple chapters where he introspects and reflects on his childhood. it also includes a fist fight against his persona 4 style shadow self. he is no less unhinged about sasuke for this. sasuke on the other hand oh yeah not a shred of reflection or lessons learned, he's running full throttle on emotions only not a single thought in that boys head. no thoughts head empty only angst and violence.

if the jinchuuriki seal weakens during pregnancy why do you keep sealing them in women.

make kakashi a part of anbu at like 12 and sends him of deadly assasinations. but no he cant fight the kyuubi at 15 like lol he's definitely seen worse at this point

538 kishimoto is so trying to make this a thing. he just thought of it and now is trying to retcon the series, again. because none of the spars or fights until now have had this finger thing.

Kishimoto is a master of asspull no jutsu and retcon no jutsu and sudden power up no jutsu but it usually its at least connected. Like with itachi/sasukes sharingan with the left and right eyes just like how amaterasu and tsukiyomi were born of izanagi washing his left and right eyes. And then susanoo finished out the trio of powers/gods. I guess also foreshadowing that izanagi is also a jutsu. Havent seen izanami yet tho.

oh im not done got about another 160 chapters but i've been skipping around and jumping back and forth between the anime and manga. the anime has filler but a lot of the filler is actually pretty decent (and the only time women get screentime) the anime also includes novel information and in some plaes the pacing and presentation of events is actually better. i also got nostalgic and reread some of og naruto

when i said i was talking about drawing naruto i wasn't saying the the series in general i mean the obnoxious hyperactive orange jumpsuit wearing idiot. idk how much you saw but mid 2000s had loads of fan art like this was just after shippuden released and when people drew naruto in his 20s it was always with longer hair which i think is interesting since kishimoto gave him short short hair for his 30s. there's also the changing artstyle from the first anime to the newest as well as in the manga and i find that all interesting so i was thinking of making a refernce sheet for naruto essentially detailing how his appearance changes over time filled with head canons of course.

oh when i say filler i dont just mean filler episodes. the episodes themselves are often paced slow to drag things out or have unnecessary flashbacks. so you have opening and sponsors 2min replay of last part of earlier ep 5min ed + preview + skit 3min +3 min of flashbacks and at a 23min run time theres only really about 10min of content per ep

i think i said this before but wow i feel bad for the ninetails and bijuu. confined and sometimes chained or speared to pin them in place, stripped of bodily autonomy. their chakara or even their body parts or physical form are controlled by another person. because people are jealous of their power, because they do not look human. i have much empathy for the Other, its quite reasonable they want to destroy konoha

Sasuke's hair after the manga ends sucks so like all of boruto im ignoring it. Thinking back a lot of 2010 boys had the cockatoo hair: sasuke, allen walker, noctis, riku?. Anyways long hair could look good one him, tied back like itachi but keeping the bangs. I can understand wanting to hide the rinnegan but sasuke already was THE emoboy of the 2000s he doesnt need to look more emo. But if he had long hair would it be flat like itachi or spikey like madara?

Back to the double suicide pact. I've mainly heard about double suicides in japan in the context of lovers' suicide (i think hxh references this too) where two lovers decide to simultaneously kill themselves because circumstances wont allow them to be together in this life in hopes they can be together in the next. And thats literally what naruto proposes. Ah where the quote... Its like if we die i will no longer be the jinchuriki and you'll no longer be an uchiha we will be free of our burdens. If i cant be with you in this life i'd rather die and wait to be reincarnated with you. Naruto chooses death with sasuke over life as hokage im not over this. I'll take all your hatred so that you are freed from it. Like, bruh, wow.

Another thing i dont like about boruto is that naruto and sasuke dont have matching arms anymore. Its important that they match

having the sharingan evolve into the rinnegan is classic kishimoto bullshit. he just wanted another power level up. the sharingan is so closely tied to the uchiha clan with shinto imagery and then the rinnegan… well its used to create cheap narrative tension to give naruto an op villian to fight via nagato. the rinnegan is associated with buddhist imagery and divinity in naruto-verse and gets like the most random mix of powers kishimoto was clearly scrapping the dregs of his brain for cool power ideas. the 6 paths worked for the pain aesthetic but does mesh at all with the rinnegan's status as ultimate eye. you get attraction/repulsion, mechs, soul extraction, big animal summon, chakra absorption, revive the dead, some other weird summon. basically its whatever kishimoto needed at the time to make pain threatening with his usual 0 thoughts given to the implication for the whole series.

I just finished Explorers of Sky last night, so hunker down, folks, this review is long.

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series has been one that has stuck with me since I was a child. I remember the first time I woke up in Blue Rescue Team as a mudkip, and made friends with my partner to rescue innocent pokemon in need. It was a fun time, and I absolutely loved the story. The ending was one of a few games that made me cry, and when I played through the sequel, Explorers of Darkness as a bulbasaur, it was even more emotional.

For quite a while now, I’ve been feeling nostalgic. Playing through earthbound for the first time got me in the mood for more retro games, so when looking through the eshop on the Wii U, I was excited to see Explorers of Sky on the virtual console. It was the version I played the most, so when I saw how cheap it was (it was 10 bucks?? wow????) I jumped on the chance to play it again after all these years.

Let me just say, first of all, that the opening theme to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games is nothing short of iconic. When I started the game and saw the opening cutscene about a week ago, my heart leapt for joy. It felt like no time had passed since the last time I played this game, laying underneath my covers on a school night, as I fought through dungeons and explored far off places. It’s not to often that music affects me so strongly in a game, but the music in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series holds a very special place in my heart.

And I'm proud to say as an artist myself that this game is absolutely gorgeous. The pixel art is bright and colorful, and the cinematic shots that scroll across the top and bottom screens are just as beautiful now as they were when I was a kid. I’d love to redraw some of my favorite scenes in this game, like the opening of the game - a beach at sunset, with bubbles blown by krabby floating gently in the wind, or the shots of the underground lakes with the time gears in the distance.

The gameplay is simple but fun. Your goal is to navigate mazes to find the exit to the next floor. There are useful items scattered throughout the maze, and there are enemy pokemon that more often than not you end up having to fight. Just like any pokemon game, you have four attacks maximum, and you gain experience from winning battles. You also have a basic weak attack that doesn’t use up your main moveset’s PP, or power points. 

Depending on what your mission is, you either need to explore a dungeon entirely, or navigate it partially in order to rescue pokemon, or apprehend outlaw pokemon. For most of the game, random pokemon may want to become a member of your team, which can come in handy sometimes, especially if you’re going to fight a boss at the end of the dungeon.

As for the story, it opens up like most PMD games: you, a human, wake up to find you are now a pokemon, with no memory of who you were before aside from your name. This time, your partner finds you unconscious on the beach at sunset. After you tell them about how you’re a human, they are robbed by two mean looking pokemon, and your partner asks you to help them recover thier precious treasure, which they call the Relic Fragment.

After the two of you recover your partner’s stolen treasure, they ask you to join them in becoming aprentences at Wigglytuff’s guild, which is a guild full of pokemon who all are training to become explorers. The guildmaster Wigglytuff allows the two of you to join, and you begin your adventure as an exploration team. 

Together, the two of you uncover the mystery of your mysterious power to see the past and future related to certain objects, discover why time has been flowing so strangely in certain places, and face off against powerful enemies, and eventually save the world from falling into darkness. You bond with your partner and become close friends, and they rely on you for the strength to be brave in the face of danger.

All in all, it’s a very charming game. It’s somewhat simple, and the characters have very clear personalities, which is understandable, considering this is a game aimed at children. But for what it’s worth, it doesn’t treat you like your a child. It’s simple and clear, sure, and a bit repetitive in dialogue, but I think it makes the characters very memorable and distinct from each other. They’re not stereotypical for the most part, and most npcs have lots of unique dialogue if you care to talk to them. It’s completely optional, but I feel like it gives the world more depth, seeing all the unique pokemon living together and talking about current events, especially since some of them have unique opinions from most. It makes me care about these pokemon, and I want to save the world for them because I like them, and I want them to live happily in peace.

I had a wonderful time playing this game again now that I’m an adult. My experience was somewhat different now that I’m older, wiser, and actually knew the whole story before I played, but it was a fun time nonetheless. It was relatively easy compared to games I play now, but between the artstyle, the story, the music, and the characters, It made up for it completely. 

Whether you’re looking for a good game for your kid, or you’re a pokemon fan yourself looking for a good entry point to the PMD series, I highly recommend playing Explorers of Sky. This version is identical to Explorers of Time and Darkness, but with added pokemon and (if I remember right) more post-game content, as well as extra missions themed around some of the other pokemon in the game. You’ll get slightly more from it, but any of the three games would be good if you just want to play through it casually for the story. Explorers of sky just happens to be my personal favorite version in the franchise, and continues to be one of my all-time favorite games.

uhhh. wow oh. let me think. they’re not exactly unknown, but the 1975 band is pretty cool and i like recommending it to anyone who’s looking for more music to listen. ik this hellsite goes on and on about how they’re trash, like shut up, their music is catchy. give it a chance!

2) what country do you wish you could visit as a kid?

when i was a kid i had this extremely false and idealized idea of what america was and i always wanted to go there. in my eyes, it was the best place on this earth. how wrong was i lol. but yeah, this was my number one country i wanted to visit. my new number one is norway now. one day... one day!!

3) would you say your style is more simplistic/minimalistic, loud, or childish?

don’t really know how to describe it. i don’t really stand out that much to begin with, so i guess minimalistic is a good choice.

4) what’s your fave memory?

i have a lot of nostalgic memories from the time i was living with my maternal grandparents. i was really, really young. like 4 or 5 years old only. i always remember the balcony of the apartment we used to live in. we had a very nice view of the neighbourhood. on my left there was the tram station and all the kiosks where i was getting my barbie and tom & jerry magazines, on my right i had the market, the railway and the road to my great-grandmother. in front of me were some really tall blocks and beyond them a few more alleys away was the river that’s crossing my home city. i have a lot of memories about me being obsessed with snow white and drawing her everywhere.

5) if you could talk to your country’s president/state minister, what would you say?

lmfao i have no idea. i don’t really have an opinion about the current president of my country. i don’t keep up with the politics back home, but so far he doesn’t seem to be that much of a bad guy. at the end of the day, all romanian presidents turn out to be shit, so.

6) the best fanfics you’ve ever read (if you read fics)?

i don’t read fics anymore, i don’t have the patience for that. i used to read snsd fics back in the day and my fave was a taengsic one. basically jessica was teaching taeyeon how to kiss so that taeyeon could impress her date. i forgot who her date was. probably baekhyun, no idea. and eventually they started dating ofc. i think it was called ‘first kiss’.

7) what is your best friend like?

i don’t know. i haven’t had a ‘best’ friend in many years. i have a couple of very good friends i treasure and care about, but i haven’t had that one person i could consider my best friend ever. i don’t think it’ll ever happen again.

8) fave fruit?

my fave fruit are bananas, nectarines, white grapes and tangerines. i could eat them all day and never get tired of them.

9) pancakes or waffles?

uhh, i think i prefer pancakes.

10) if you could go back in time, where would you go and would you stay there?

i would go back in the period before the indo-european invasions in south-east europe. it is considered that around this region is where the first tribes of what would become the european civilization flourished. it was a time of peace, a time of worshipping the earth, a time where war was not a thing, i don’t know... a very primitive and unspoiled era? people were focused on the role of the mother, on the kindness of the earth, on the moon. a less brutish era, i would say. i don’t think i would stay there, i’d just like to see if it really was an idyllic, pre-historic time for a peaceful way of life. this pure connection with the nature humans used to have is very fascinating.
