And, while a lot of the actual LGBT issues were played for laughs in these series, they were all very important to me.

Also I still hold out hope that Hana-Kimi will ever get an anime or that Maria Holic will get a book accurate reboot 🫡

Y’know when I saw the ed first I thought it was a madoka reference which would be fitting since maria holic is parodying yuri. Then I realized maria holic came out in 2009. The logical explanation is that this style of paper cutout with saturated colors and all those fun textures is actually inspired by something else entirely, maybe some old german animation or some genre of story book.

The infinitely funnier idea is that the labrynths in madoka are a maria holic reference and hell if I’m not a sucker for funny lies. Gonna make a fun anime facts compilation on tiktok full of lies and this will be one of them
