Headcanon that whenever Rosie finishes “cleaning” a kill, she’ll save the extra blood and bones and give them to Carmilla to use in her workshops.

Carmilla uses the blood to forge bone steel and carves the bones themselves into various decorative patterns to use as pieces for her weapons (the hilt of a dagger or a sword, the stock of a rifle, the handle of a whip, etc.). Since Rosie won’t let her pay for the parts (“Please, darling, it’s no trouble. They would’ve just gone straight to the bin if ya didn’t take them!”), she uses the smaller bones to make little pieces of jewelry to give her in return. Rosie’s absolute favorite is a pair of little skull earrings with tiny diamond eyes, all made of made of the bones and compressed ashes of an asshole who hit his children. She’s eagerly waiting for the guy to regenerate, because Carmilla promised to make her a full matching set if she brought his bones to her again.

So instead of Vox it is Alastor who started to upgrade and went with the time. He tried to persuade Vox to do the same but got rejected. Unlike og Vox tho he didn't take it as badly while Vox felt betrayed that his best friend would become a sell out. Alastor doesn't use old school radios anymore but instead created his own version of Alexa which he lovingly names "AL". It is mass produced and almost anyone in hell has one which helps him to spy on people.

Carmilla doesn't own the fashion industry but instead owns the largest theater in all of hell and deals with angelic weapons on the side. She still has her daughters who are also the main dancers. Odette does ballet while Clara specializes in hip hop. Carmilla is not as childish as og Velvette but she has trouble controlling her temper which causes her to have violent outbursts. Let's just say you wouldn't want to be one of her workers that stood in her way while she was angry.

Rosie, oh my poor sweet Rosie I am so sorry for making you mean baby girl. Rosie still owns cannibal town where the "Vees tower" (still gotta figure out a name for them) is located. The building is actually a mix of Carmillas dance studio, Rosie's emporium (changed into a brothel) and Alastor's radio tower. Rosie is the madam of the brothel with Cherri being her favorite worker and also the most popular amongst the customers. Shes not as abusive as Valentino but she does treat her workers rather poorly if they don't do what they're told and since Cherri is an extreme troublemaker and doesn't take shit from customers who are begin assholes she is often at the receiving end of Rosie's punishments. She doesn't resort to violence unless absolutely necessary when she scratches and bites, sometimes even biting literal chunks out of her workers when particularly pissed off and sends the worker out to keep doing her job as a warning to others. She prefers to emotionally manipulate her workers, clicking her razor sharp teeth as a threat.

Also Alastor and Rosie are patonically married and Rosie and Carmilla fuck nasty.

I love how joel is treating ellie now that things calmed down, even when he doesn't communicate with words, he does it with actions and physical touch a lot: hugging her from behind when she goes to sleep with him, the way he asks if she wants him to do her hair even when she doesn't need help, the way she just casually sits on his lap and he holds her like his baby (and when they long talk during these moments even tho he's so tired from work), the way he can't even think of her as a sexual creature with anyone because she's so cute to him (that scene cracked me up🤣), the way he puts her to sleep with bunny so she can hold it, the way he deals with her rage storms like he's a fucking pro (or when he he disciplined her about good manners, but soon after he asked her if he got too hard with the scolding lmao), the way he's willing to buy her braces and afford anything she wants like birth control (I wonder how would joel react if ellie sees a toy she wanted to have as a kid but never had it, I bet he would buy without thinking. I am trying to become a serious and published writer, but all that comes out are either little fantasy Renaissance fantasies or contemporary novels that would need to be pushed by an actual publishing house to have some kind of audience. Either that, or I get the Pedro Pascal girlies really on board ｡ﾟヽ(ﾟ´Д｀)ﾉﾟ｡ I am, more than technically, a published author tho. Just not with fiction 😭

They're both canonically touch-starved but they're both also emotionally constipated as all hell, so I try to fix it by making them as touchy as possible in every possible solution 😭😭 They need to hug their issues out sometimes, man...

So, I can already tell you that, because of how Ellie was raised (one toy, no certainty about her home, sharing her room and all her possessions), she has never coveted any kind of toys, but in the very final chapter (the epilogue) she will receive something she has always wanted and already mentioned here and there a couple of times, even if not in direct conversation with anybody.

I didn't go more into depth into that scene because they were supposed to discuss it during the pre-trial preparation, but then thought the scene over another time and figured it'd fit better in chapter 5, so... no worries, it will be explained in a very direct way (also because Ellie hasn't connected the dots on it yet either).

Oh, that's another fic! And hopefully, it's gonna be just a oneshot (Shoot for the Stars was also supposed to be one looool). So, no: Sarah didn't chew her way through David and she 100% killed him by stabbing him with the knife Ellie gifted her for her birthday.

Shoot for the Stars is very much set in like... normal reality, while that other fic, To Be Consumed, takes plenty from the concept of "magical realism."

I'm gonna try to be brief lol. Also hi this is a sideblog for my superhero paracosm aka where I dumped my old mcu paras.

The plot changed around a lot but the basic idea was that HYDRA somehow got DNA from the main 6 Avengers and made clones of them. For one reason or another, the clones escape and eventually wind up at SHIELD, where they're taken in and given semi normal lives. These are my original test tube babies 😭

The new plot (aka the one in this paracosm) is relatively the same, except instead of HYDRA its this organization called "Arcaynis" that does all sorts of weird experiments ... tbh even though I don't focus on them much now, they're still pretty paracosm-important/relevant bc goddamn does Arcaynis do a lot of fuckery. Fuck Arcaynis all my homies hate Arcaynis.

JORDAN STARK (THEY/THEM)

I actually still daydream about them fairly frequently! They're part of a different paracom now, but still have origins in Assembled Monsters.

Being a clone of Tony Stark/Iron Man, they don't really have powers. They're more of a "guy behind the chair" person yknow. But! They were usually the one to kickstart the clones escaping. Wait sometimes they had electricity and super speed. Idk why stop asking questions. The power of ✨imagination✨

Oh they have a prosthetic arm! Yeah Rex/Laz ripped it off when they were about 6ish. Fun times.

REX (HE/HIM) & LAZARUS BANNER (HE/HIM)

Clone of Bruce Banner/The Hulk ... idk how HYDRA managed to get the "two for one" deal, but they did! I always waffled on if they were the same person or were more like the Jekyll/Hyde situation that Bruce had.

Despite Tony being my favorite, Rex — and Laz, I guess — were usually the focus/main characters of the daydreams I had back then. By now they're basically AM's poster child 😭

Rex is radioactive! His blood, sweat, & other bodily fluids are acidic and actual biohazards. Rip buddy.

Laz is a cannibal. Technically. He's not human (clone + can transform into this giant...wolf cat thing idk i never finalized their "hulk" form ig). This does cause problems for him & Rex but they come to a deal where Laz can only eat "bad" people aka criminals and whoever SHIELD deems an enemy.

MAXINE ROMANOV (SHE/HER)

Clone of Natasha Romanov/Black Widow.

For some reason she has telepathy! This makes more sense now bc magic just kinda exists in MaaC/all my paracosms but back then I didn't have an explanation it was just sort of a thing.

I started getting into the MCU at about 13(?), and that's when I introduced it into my paracosm, so even our ages kind of line up, lmao! I'd love to hear about your paras, though! Even though they're background characters now, I think that's so cool that they stuck around since then!!!

Enjoying your paranormal CaitVi au a lot, I swear aus like this are so sparse but its one of my favorite au topics. What would Vi or others(ekko, ect.) reaction to Cait's brand scar be, I'm very curious. Any other lore you could/wanna give would also be super cool and interesting.

I know I've said it before, but it really warms my heart to see all the people getting on board with this AU! <3

Thing is, Caitlyn is really wary about who sees it, since her family is a sore spot to put it very mildly. But ehh people do end up seeing it one way or another:

Ekko doesn't really acknowledge it, figures that if Vi trusts her enough then fine. But he does keep an eye on her, which isn't too far off from canon.

Vi sees it on their very first meeting, mentions it, and gets all but told to shut the fuck up by a rather miffed Caitlyn. And while Vi can be blunt sometimes, she recognizes what buttons not to push so she leaves it be until they *ahem* get to know each other better and ends up accidentally touching it. Caitlyn lashes out on instinct. For about 5 seconds before realizing it and feeling absolutely terrible.

They end up talking about it and Vi is rightfully angry when she finds out it was done when Caitlyn was merely 14. Especially with how Caitlyn was taught that it's actually a good thing because look how young you were when you became a full fledged hunter, you should be so proud of yourself.

As for lore tidbits, gonna try and keep it from plot spoilery territory, so have a few assorted fun fact-ish:

As far as the timeline goes, everything is pretty much the same as Arcane up until ep3. But Vi never gets thrown in Stillwater as Ekko manages to help her get away from Marcus and Powder gets taken in by Silco. Vi instead gets put in Vander's place as "Hound of the Underground" (still ironic)

Big shoes to fill at that age but she sorta manages somehow while also trying to look for her sister

It's ok tho Ekko is there to be the best lil' bro (and get on each other's nerves)

Also Ekko has nature powers and is the one who plants and grows the tree

The Firelights are still a thing, but instead of only helping people that were hurt by shimmer, they also help those that aren't human and have trouble with their powers

Vi, being sorta undead and having 0 body temp regulation, gets cold really easily. But worry not she has a warm werewolf gf to cuddle with

Alternatively, when Caitlyn is really upset about something she tends to just turn and sulk as an oversized wolf. Vi picks up on that and tries to offer some comfort

Cait, Vi and Ekko are the ultimate trio of annoying the fuck out of each other. Specifically poking fun at what the others are: Caitlyn says she needs the bathroom and Ekko tells her to stay away from his plant pots; Ekko teases Vi for being whipped and she threatens to drain him of his blood; Cait asks Ekko if eating plants counts as cannibalism and he's like reverse vegan and he answers that he's about to have wolf steak

A lot of Caitlyn's scars are rather ironic: she has a gunshot scar on her lower back, a bite mark on her side, and a bear trap mark all around her right forearm (since she uses traps in the lol lore)

full disclosure i haven't actually finished listening to it, I still need to pick up again after s3 but I've listened up till then

also spoilers below for anyone planning on listening to it!

anyway, tma is overall a VERY good podcast and especially in the horror genre, its incredibly well written and effective and genuinely fucking scary and unsettling, and manages to do that without using misogyny or homophobia/transphobia as a device to achieve the sense of dread you get in pretty much every episode. that being said there's a few instances of casual (unintended) racism, such as episode 72 which has a case of anti-chinese racism where the villain is a Chinese cannibal that owns a takeaway shop. that is the most blatant example I remember, there are likely others I have missed because I am white and these things go over my head, but if other people remember better than I do I encourage them to respond to this!

in terms of other problems, to be honest I think what I'm talking about is just my engagement with the show - namely Daisy Tonner. she's a police detective who gets involved with the main cast during s2 and is an avatar of the hunt, sometimes headcanoned by fans as being werewolf like in nature. she's not a nice person, nasty and blunt and rude and brutal, and there are several instances in the show where she kills others and justifies it with reasoning ranging from 'suspected to be a vampire' to 'my boss told me to'. she's violent and cruel and her morality is tied to the law, in that she takes the orders she's given and works to uphold an unjust system based on her perception of other people as a threat, and this comes out in almost every interaction she has with anyone, especially jon, the main character. at one point she kidnaps him and holds him at knifepoint in the woods, fully intending to kill him, before something stops her (its been a while since I've listened to it I can't quite remember what gfjkds).

as a character i fucking adore her. i love female characters who are actually seriously vicious and cruel and horrible people and allowed to be awful, the narrative doesn't shame them for their personality. to me daisy means a lot and I see a lot of myself in her horrible attitude and nasty demeanour (take that as you will ghjfdksl).

but i can't deny that she's a cop and comes with everything that entails. she's suspicious of everyone, she threatens legal action that she can take, and failing that threatens violent action instead, sometimes acting on it. she's part of a group that works to protect their own and target suspects for their own personal agenda rather than any actual sense of 'justice'. as much as I love her for being a female character with bite and attitude, she is like that for a reason. she's also incredibly emotionally dependent on Basira, her coworker-turned-magnus-archives-employee. their relationship is quite homoromantic but its never confirmed as actually romantic or anything because fuck cops, lesbians or not.

(if you're worried about queerbaiting in the show tho, don't, I promise there's none, because no one ever advertised the show as being queer friendly/having canon queer relationships so they literally didn't bait anyone at all, and people who say that don't actually know what queerbaiting means)

i love daisy as a character and I do think she is a very interesting exploration of police institutions, especially with the lens of the hunt and the horror that all that entails, I think its very well done as horror literature. but there's a reason people hate her and it'd be unfair of me to not warn you of the kinds of things she does in the show, in case that's upsetting for you.

in terms of the actual show content, trigger warnings range from gore, body horror, insects, depression, mental health, paranoia, unreality, and many more, and various times they intersect with instances of marginalised characters that don't come across as well-intentioned as the creators probably wanted.

this is a list of trigger warnings by episode (all 200 of 'em) and is generally good for checking if you can listen to the episode, especially the earlier seasons, because it wasn't until about s4ish that they started including trigger warnings for really graphic things in the episode introductions.

this is a folder of transcripts of all the episodes, which I personally found helpful when starting the show. i'd often read transcripts and if I could handle that, id listen to the episode (until I binged half of s1 in a week and got used to the general sense of dread the show gave me and after that I just dived in lmao).

thats mostly what i talk about in terms of bad - the show is good, so good, but it is a tragedy and it is horror and it has some horrendous people, some of which will be worse than others, and being horror it's gonna upset you in some areas. tread with caution, look at the trigger warnings and transcripts if you need to, and maybe avoid the fandom for the most part, it was not very pleasant when the show was airing, but overall, this series is so good and I do gladly recommend it to anyone looking to branch into horror. i think if you follow me and enjoy the same things I do you won't regret giving tma a shot ^^

Doctor Crimes is always kinda funny to me. Like she’s incredibly fucked up but also. Lady flunks out of med school and changes her legal name to doctor so she can’t be caught lying about being a doctor. The last name was for sillies about the lab used as a medical clinic and also bc she thougut it was funny. She’s very discreet in regards to mutations! And drops her already low prices if u let her do a lil experiment on u! Or give her like. A lot of your blood or smth. For experiments. She’s got an in house living Frankenstein who just gets parts put in her for the sillies. And her lab is wired into the nervous system of a psionic gold who thinks it’s very funny to pretend to be just an ai controlling things and not like. A literal person in a back room. Sweets also loves to have the 3d printer running for silly jokes and um. Doc doesn’t complain. Sweets can use up extra power bc. They’re the power source lol. And there’s plenty to go around

The first one of these doesn’t have a name yet! But the science lady who made the goop, and some experiments From the goop (Ethann, Beastly, and Lovely)

Science lady looked at her mutations and went hm. Neat! Let’s play with that. And um. Sometimes fleet science funds go to a lady making weird ass clones intended to emphasize or minimalist mutations. If she thinks they’re cool she keeps them for observation. Ethann wants to get Out he’s a housecat pacing in a zipped up tent and yelling. Beastly gets to roam around on good behavior and also to see what happens. Lovely sometimes gets supervised field trips to the library. If you meet this geneticist there’s a very strong chance she’s gonna try and get a sample of your dna to add to the goop. She’ll also not deny it if u catch her. But also she checks up in person when beastly makes a friend bc like. She’ll turn a blind eye to the fucked up things she does at the lab but heavens forbid one of her experiments be in a bad social relationship. She’d feed u to her experiments if u hurt one of their feelings. As one does! It’s not like they’re strangers to cannibalism- failed experiments gotta go somewhere after all

I think I’ve just got the two groups but I’ve got a couple random folks here and there with cybernetics or working in robotics but that feels like a different flavor of science, yk? And I can’t add enough images to physically show u but um.

Bill and maybe Spooky are livin w experimental cybernetics (different from doc just working shit out on her own, like actually new shit or tactics not reverse engineering)

Pandor and fogs unnamed sister are working in robotics and have made a number of drones under the fleet, although Glitch needs her memories set back every so often due to the rebel leanings (she and Pandor have a whole routine for it. The only reason she keeps this up is bc she knows Pandor and the folks r on thin ice for mutations and also they’re kind of hyper specific. So she’s like hey I’m Not gonna get these folks up shits creek till I can get them out. She’s dating a pirate tho so it’s fine she gets the gist of it) and Sparks is currently missing (sometimes a medical android forgoes charging for a while due to is stubborn and becomes an accidental stowaway. And is charmed by the pirates that were transporting it. Yk as one does)

and Wrench is TRYING to figure out ai and can make robots function without them, but like. It achieved one(1) robot that can act independently and has been struggling to repeat that since. Babes u chucked ur ancestors ghost in there she’s just too stubborn to let u know that.

cannibal infernal twins au because why the fuck not. - they have been fond of the taste of human flesh for as long as they could remember - they prefer eating people they've built a bond with for some reason, especially rae - yes im making them kill other streamers fucking sue me - yea so in here everyone are still streamers except syk never returned from his 2 year hiatus - twins live together but chat doesn't know that - rae would play games with and befriend various streamers, only to kill and eat em later lmao - since syk never got his character development, he's less empathizing of the people he kills - syk would still get to know and play games with their victims sometimes and rae would also take part in the murdering but yknow they specialize in one role more than the other - sus were never thrown on rae even though she has streamed with every one of her victims, it's just that she kills both big streamers and small streamers interchangeably, so the audience haven't really connected the dots yet - they don't only eat humans of course they just like to, plus it takes awhile to finish a whole ass body so streamers would only go missing once every like couple of months - syk has appeared on streams but very rarely, everytime he does rae just says "oh yeah that noise is just my brother visiting, HEY THO- I MEAN SYKKUNO!! YOU WANNA SAY HI TO CHAT???" - yea he only wants to be called sykkuno in streams and in front of friends cuz privacy n such - other than rae, syk doesn't interact with people that much so he enjoys chatting with and teasing the fuck outta his victims, of course he does cuz he's a sick fuck - whether or not he's intentionally being terrifying is unknown lmao cuz his convos are things like "the weather's nice isn't it? it's going to rain daggers later, i hope one wont land on your head!! oh no i’m sorry please don't be scared that was just a joke" while casually wiping his bone saw in front of the victim who is literally tied up in his basement - toast obviously dies here duh - and so does everyone else, so roomies were never a thing unfortunately - but they are definitely close enough to make a hella delicious meal aha

How I Got Into Batman

So I got into Batman on accident. See my wife (then girlfriend) @she-a-nice had been BEGGING me to watch the show, play the game, etc. and I refused for the longest time (my loss I know right?).

Anyhow, we’re in game stop and she pulls out the “Batman Arkham Asylum” game, and she’s like, “Look! It’s on sale for $XX! If worse comes to worse it’s not like you’ll be wasting money! Just give it a try and if you don’t like it I’ll stop bothering you about it!”

So I caved. I bought the game, let out the most annoyed sigh (I was easily upset before I started my Bipolar meds, I regret how immature I used to be) and we went home. I pop the game in, let it download, and drank some tea while I waited. After it finished downloading, my adventure began.

Opening up to the Asylum, right away I’ll be honest- I hated batman. The only version I ever knew of him was BTAS and this version didn’t sit right with me. He was so mean and cruel that it just made me really upset. The joker reminded me of the one I did know a little bit about, so that wasn’t so bad (learned later it was the same actor so whoot!)

Saw sexy Harley Quinn, but hated her outfit so much. GOD I HATED THAT OUTFIT. WHAT WAS THE POINT? SHE DIDN’T LOOK LIKE A HARLEQUIN AT ALL???

Again, I went into this game with a sour attitude and I tried to hide it. My wife is sitting on the edge of her seat watching me play cause she was so excited to see the game. She had stars in her eyes. She didn’t play video games. She was afraid too and would much rather watch me play them instead. So I bit my lip and kept playing. Seeing her happy and enjoying the game meant more to me than all the things that was annoying me about the game. Admittedly... the combat was pretty good for it’s time, and after playing the absolute disaster combat of Assassin’s Creed 1, it was a nice change of pace.

I do remember being quite fond of Killer Croc’s design, and hoping I would see him again. I’ll get into that bit, a little later.

So I’m playing the game, and I get to the part where you just get to/ past the medical facility? It’s been a long time since I played so I can’t remember exactly where... but... that’s when my opinion of the game started to change. I’m in an elevator and I come out to see people going fucking batshit crazy in a sealed off room, and this gremlin of a bastard scurry in the background. I have no idea that this guy is about to become my favorite character.

My wife, knowing my favorite character archetype, just fucking grins as wide as she can. I love horror. Anything horror related, video games, movies, etc... it’s always been my favorite!

Mind you, I have no idea whom this character is or what he does, but the music turns unsettling and I can feel my pulse quicken. It has all the atmosphere of a horror game. Batman’s eyes are glowing red, and the beat of the music is still heavy in my ears. The voices are starting to echo, and there’s a buncha really silent hill like bullshit happening.

I go through the morgue scene and I’m just fucking... floored? When the fuck did this game decide to be a horror game??? Like?? I started to LOVE it.

My wife is now in a fit of giggles, and I’m like, “Why are you laughing you hate horror?”

She just grins, “Oh... you’ll see! I just know you’re gonna love it!”

Okay... sure. So I keep going.

Cue Batman unzipping the bag and this guy with a bag on his head that reminds me of el salvadore from fucking resident evil 4 pops up, and he’s just cackling like a motherfucking maniac. His voice is AMAZING. The ambiance is frightening. He’s got fucking NEEDLES on his hands (Trypanophobia? Yeah I know her. That’s my fear.)

“Who is this dude?” I ask my wife.

As the sequence ends for the nightmare world I see the words pop up on my screen:

Character Bio Unlocked- Scarecrow

“Who the fuck is scarecrow?” I’m lost. That was literally my favorite sequence so far.

My wife looks like the cat that caught the fucking canary, “That’s Jonathan Crane~ He’s the scarecrow and he’s the master of fear!”

Okay. So she’s fucking right. I fucking love this character. I keep playing. Dude’s gotta show up again right? I never actually kicked his ass...

So I keep playing the game and I see a few other small things that start to pique my interest. It’s not longer a chore trying to play the game. I’m genuinely interested. I’m waiting for this asshole with a paper bag on his head to pop up again.

Que me getting to the next portion of the game where this SOAB shows up. I’m literally grinning from ear to ear. Is the scene beforehand sad? Yeah a little. But I’ve heard the same damn sob story for batman by fans so much that honestly... I... kinda don’t care? It’s hard to feel bad when every movie with batman includes his parents dying.

I get through that portion and I eventually wind up at the third portion. I swear to fucking god I was SO SCARED when I thought my game restarted and I lost all my progress. Turns out it was another fucking game sequence. Touche Mr. Scarecrow, touche.... Long story short I got through that sequence and I’m floored by how good the game actually is. God my wife is so happy. It makes the experience all the better.

Did I mention she’s a hard core Riddler fan? Did I also forget to mention she’s the one that found all the- and I quote, “Shineys (Riddler Trophies)” and solved all his riddles? Cause I sure as fuck didn’t know the answers. Dude got super pissed every time she found something, and it was HILARIOUS.

I got to Croc’s section of the game, and I’ll admit I was a bit off put and sad to see him take Crane into the water and out of view. Knowing he’s a cannibal, I thought for sure that would be the last I ever saw of my fave (Imagine how excited I was for Arkham Knight, and how disappointed I was in the end? LE SIGH.) To be fair tho, Croc’s portion of the game had me sitting on the edge of my seat a lot since it was dead silent, and followed up with an orchestra of music when he popped up.

By the end of the whole game I was relatively happy. The story was pretty shitty, won’t lie, but the characters were enjoyable, the play style was fun, and I got to learn a lot about some characters! I even surprised my wife by saying I wanted to buy the next game in the series!

Lucky for me? That game had just come out a week prior. So of course I bought that bitch and binge played it for my sweet, and wonderful wife. Of course I also fell in love with another character- Mr. Freeze, and of course I still thank her for getting me into the series.

Sometimes she’ll tease me and talk about how I was so reluctant to try something new that she’d known I would enjoy, and ever since I’ve made sure to give series she’s suggested a chance!
