to the small group of people who see the vision i present to you: snow white with the red hair au with will as shirayuki and nico as zen

rr wrote bianca into the series and killed her off solely for nico’s characterisation/as a way to progress the plot without making her part of the plot -- and that makes her the most intriguing character in the whole series for me.

she was a 12 yo solely responsible for her younger brother for 70 years!! her character motive was to be free of that responsibility. to only have to worry about herself for once in her life, to finally have a support system backing her. yet even after she’s joined the hunters and percy is on a quest with her seeing her act for herself, the narrative always notes her thru reference to nico.

we see that despite being notably drained by him, she deeply cares for nico and only feels comfortable leaving him bcos she fully believes percy and the rest of chb are capable of taking over her role as caretaker. with the hunters we see her grow more confident, taking off her hat - yet her tying her hair in the same braid as zöe and some other ways she shown to fall into the line with the hunters, actually suggest that whilst she’s found a place with them, she’s trying to belong sm she’s pushing down her personal identity. i would’ve loved to see how she came into herself throughout the series.

after she dies (doing something for nico), except from the initial search, her death is always framed as ‘oh no poor nico losing his sister’ instead of focusing on how horrific it is that a 12 yo died on her first quest after spending a week at most at chb. it should have been a radicalising event for percy yet instead it’s just a source of guilt at not fulfilling his promise to nico.

nico spending months in the labyrinth trying to bring her back, and years later making another attempt when the doors of death open, are written in solely as a way to forward the plot but that extent of love for his sister that’s always driving nico is by far the part of his character that makes him most endearing to me. and when he finally makes contact with her ghost and she’s like ‘even in death you won’t let me rest’. PLSS.

hades negatively weighing nico against bianca and saying he’s the one that should’ve died instead, is totally just meant to be a way of milking nico’s sadness BUT LIKE keep talking hades i really want to know more. hades went against the rule that says gods should stay uninvolved in their demigod children’s lives and had a direct presence in bianca and nico’s upbringing but ur just not going to expand on what his relationship with bianca was like?? what he means be telling nico this?? the aspects of her personality and the memories he has of her that are weighing on him so heavily?? any indication of who she was as his daughter???

also the hints that she knew who her godly parent was??? EXPAND ON THAT. did she come into some of her power?? did she remember some of her past despite being bathed in the river lethe?? (why wouldn’t children of hades have some power over the river???)

i genuinely want to know her. the sole reason i’m excited for the upcoming nico book is to learn more about her, i’m not even exaggerating.

But I wanted to say, I thought of how the Unova Region would find out about Iris, or at least how cold and violent she’s gotten. Because if she can’t hide her anger then she’ll definitely be seen as a tyrant sooner or later like Lance and Leon

Now most of the people know that The Champion and The Hero of Unova have been good friends for years. Lots of times the two trainers and their friends would be seen together, hanging out, laughing, being happy, and just all in all great friends. So imagine the regions surprise when Champion Iris greatly injures The Hero of Truth, Hilbert

It was one of those times when Hilbert challenged Iris for her title, confident that him and his Pokémon trained enough to overthrow his friend. But of course she defeated all six of his Pokémon and kept her title. After some small talk Hilbert joking mentions how her luck will run out soon and he’ll be the new champion. And her anger slightly flares for a moment, her friend doesn’t think she’s strong enough to be champion and that she has relied on luck to get this far. She gives short replies to his questions and starts preparing to leave, making sure her Pokémon are fine and healed up

Getting annoyed with her lack of answers and just general attitude over the past few months, Hilbert himself gets angry and starts an argument with her. After some back and forth yelling he says some words he’ll regret. He says how if she’s only using her skills and strength to terrorize the people of Unova, that if she’s going so far that she would’ve killed someone had they not stopped her, then she isn’t fit to be a champion. Because a champions job is to protect, not kill the innocent

Iris really though her friend was better. That he knew his place in the world and trusted her decisions to protect Unova, to protect their friends, to protect him, but it seems he’s just like the rest of them. Looking down on her like she’s nothing

Only when Iris grows quiet does he realize how suffocating the room felt. How the room got colder, and how Iris’ eyes, that once reminded him of shining rubies, were now a frightening eerie red that stared straight at him from across the room. Finally realizing his terrible mistake when Iris reveals a seventh Pokéball and releases the legendary Dragon/Ice type Pokémon, who stares directly at him, with it ready to fire the move Glaciate whenever it’s trainer commands it to

Can you imagine the colour on Hilbert's face fading, staring wide eyes up at Kyurem. He never got to face Kyurem back then, Nate never told him, or any of them, of his experience w Kyurem, w Ghetsis. N never told them as well, in respect of Nate's wishes, but what N only told them it was freezing, it felt like a worse version of hell, it felt terrifying, and had he not came in with Reshiram... Hilbert almost didn't wanna know. And now, standing before him was none other than Kyurem itself, under the command of their Champion, glaring at him with the same intensity he once received from Ghetsis.

He should've known. Nate left Kyurem with Drayden. But Drayden's gone now. And the one left with Kyurem is none other than the strongest trainer in Unova.

"Iris... Let's not cross that line." He carefully said, raising both his arms in surrender, "I take it back. I take everything back." His breathing quickened, puffs of cold air leaving his lips with each bated breath, "just.. Arc, Iris, please, don't do this." He pleaded, falling to his knees. He knew what happened to Unova while he, Hilda, and N were away. He knew the damages Kyurem had done because of Plasma. But Plasma wasn't around anymore, and Plasma didn't know the full potential of a Dragon, not like Iris. She knows how to tap into it, knows what to do to unleash their hidden power within, she understands them more than any other could. And she knows that one Glaciate Kyurem will summon will be enough to freeze the entire league over.

But Iris still glared at him. Told him he had a plan with the others, don't you? She can sense them, can sense Zekrom and Reshiram on their way.

"I didn't know about that!"

As she commanded Kyurem to use Glaciate, N and Hilda came just in time to block the attack, commanding both Reshiram and Zekrom to attack Kyurem.

N had warned Hilda to not let Zekrom close, as Iris would probably have the DNA Splicers w her too, so the two became more wary while battling. But Iris was erratic, it's so unlike her now, yelling out her commands, so desperate to beat them.

But also I have this lil concept too, that when N and Hilda came in, Hilda and Hilbert did fight Iris, like legit fought her hand to hand, all while N was trying to calm down Kyurem. And just cjmdd imagine Hilda and Hilbert actually knocking her out and got Kyurem's pokeball, calling him back. And they brought Iris to Plasma's castle under the league, tied her up in a chair maybe, in N's throne most likely, and then the Nuvema gang and N are there before her.

Imagine her glaring at them, almost growling at them, telling them to let her go. But ofc, they're not letting her go that easily. God imagine them finally getting to really talk to her, asking her why she's suddenly acting like that, after Drayden's death she wasn't the same.

And like, imagine her looking down, tears rolling down her cheeks, and she starts sobbing. Telling them that she really just missed her grandpa, that she just wanted to prove herself to be a good Champion, a strong trainer that their region could rely on, but the pressure was getting to her, especially since everyone still looked down on her, how no matter what she does, she will never be enough for the people of Unova, and she hates it. It haunts her every night, haunts her until she couldn't sleep, and it didn't help how she could still hear the hushed whispers of the people in Opelucid telling her that she will never be able to fill in Drayden's role as the mayor of that city too.

Bianca ofc caved in, she tried to approach Iris, Cheren and even Hilda stopped her, but she gave them a look that they knew they couldn't argue w her on this one. Bianca knelt before Iris, wiping her tears, telling her that she doesn't have to fight her battles alone anymore, they're her friends, "we'll always be here for you." And Iris smiled at that, melting in her touch, shifting slightly almost kissing the palm of her hand, thanking her for her patience. Bianca then looked at the others, and they finally relented, they untied Iris and they half expected her to double cross them, instead she fell straight into Bianca's arms, pulling her close as she cried on her shoulder.

And the others, well, perhaps Iris really was misguided, but not anymore, they'll make sure of it. So they went in and joined in on the group hug, telling Iris that they'll always be there for her.

Iris smiled at that, hidden as she buried herself deeper in Bianca's embrace, guess Diantha's acting lessons really did pay off.

It’s all fun and games until someone brings up the fact that the scene where Percy tells Nico about Bianca is paralleled to Apollo telling him about Jason. The fact that Nico knew what happened in both situations, but still asked just in case it was all a bad dream. Just in case he had a ‘normal’ mortal dream rather than a factual dream. Oh, and then he runs away in both scenes, leaving a literal trail of death behind (ironic)

ok but what if bianca had lived?? “oh nico would still be that happy little kid” yeah sure cool but im not talking about nico im talking about bianca. ofc she still would’ve been part of the hunters, i think she would’ve loved reyna actually, and she would spend eternity with artemis and the hunters. great! now what would her powers be??? this wasn’t really hinted at or explored in ttc so this opens many new avenues for my hyperactive imagination 🤭💗

first of all, you could argue that her powers were revealed in the scene where she, zoë, percy, thalia, and grover were attacked by skeletons. bianca was the only one who could drive them away. but that’s not much, is it? i mean she’s a hades kid, she’s gonna have a relationship with the dead, right?

bianca might have had ghe same powers as nico—raising and interacting with the dead—but i’d like to explore another idea for the sake of tumblr post. what if bianca’s powers were to inflict death rather than interact with it? now i’m not saying that she can just snappity snap her fingers and someone just drops dead, and she can’t LIYERALLY inflict death, because that’s thanatos’ domain, but maybe she can accelerate it? like if an enemy is suffering from a fatal wound or something, she could like cause death to reach their soul faster. idk i love bianca and i think we should see her as an individual character instead of nico’s sister 💗💗🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈💗💗💥💥💥‼️

25 April also known as the Anniversary of Italy's Liberation is a national holiday in Italy that commemorates the victory of the Italian resistance movement against Nazi Germany and the Italian Social Republic, puppet state of the Nazis and rump state of the fascists, culmination of the liberation of Italy from German occupation and of the Italian civil war in the latter phase of World War II. Every year on 25 April Italy celebrates Liberation Day, known in Italian as Festa della Liberazione, with a national public holiday.

In addition to the closure of schools, public offices and most shops, the day is marked with parades across the country, organised by ANPI, Italy's partisan association which preserves the memory of the Resistance movement against Fascism.

The occasion is held in commemoration of the end of the Fascist regime and of the Nazi occupation during world war two, as well as the victory of Italy's Resistance movement of partisans who opposed the regime.

Formed in 1943, the partigiani comprised a network of anti-Fascist activists, from diverse backgrounds including workers, farmers, students and intellectuals, across Italy.

Together they united in armed resistance against the Nazi occupation and the Fascist regime, making their struggle both a war of liberation and a civil war.

The annual event marks the day in 1945 when a nationwide radio broadcast calling for a popular uprising and general strike against the Nazi occupation and Fascist regime was announced by the National Liberation Committee of Upper Italy (CLNAI), a political umbrella organisation representing the Italian Resistance movement.

This announcement - made by partisan and future president of Italy Sandro Pertini - resulted in the capture and death of Fascist leader Benito Mussolini, who was shot three days later.

The Festa della Liberazione represents a significant turning point in Italy's history, paving the way for the referendum of 2 June 1946 when Italians voted in favour of a republic and against the monarchy which had been discredited during the war and whose members went into exile.

Scurati controversy

This year's event takes place against the backdrop of a political controversy after the state broadcaster RAI stopped a well-known Italian writer from delivering an anti-fascist monologue on television a few days before the Festa della Liberazione.

Antonio Scurati accused RAI of censorship after his monologue was dropped abruptly from the Saturday night talkshow Chesarà for "editorial reasons".

The writer claimed that the move highlighted the alleged attempts by premier Giorgia Meloni's right-wing government to exert its influence over the state broadcaster which has seen several veteran presenters leave over the last year including Fabio Fazio, Bianca Berlinguer and Amadeus.

 In his speech Scurati criticised the "ruling post-Fascist party" for wanting to "re-write history" rather than "repudiate its neo-fascist past".

RAI director Paolo Corsini rejected any talk of censorship, as did Meloni who responded to the controversy by posting Scurati's text on her Facebook page, stating that the broadcaster had "simply refused to pay 1800 euro (the monthly salary of many employees) for a minute of monologue".

Meloni added that the Italian people "can freely judge" the contents of the text which was later read live on air by Chesarà presenter Serena Bortone in an act of solidarity with Scurati.

nico has grown and has accepted bianca's death, he is not the little kid bianca left anymore, he's a different person entirely

in a situation where bianca would inevitably try to act like the older sibling she once was i am sure nico would have much more authority and maturity over her, ultimately "shutting" her down. and also he would be oh so, so protective. almost like they switched roles somehow – nico's older now technically, no?

and it would kill both of them, realizing how much has changed and how they will never get their time as kids back
