“I don’t wanna be in time out!”

“I know bug, but to be fair you need a breather. This isn’t meant as a punishment, it’s a chance for you to think about what you did and how we can handle it differently next time. I’m giving you ten minutes.”

“Wait!”

“What is it?”

“Can you stay with me? Please? I don’t wanna be in time out alone.”

“I was just going to clean up the play floor, bug. I’m not going to be far.”

“I know but please? I wanna hold your hand. Please?”

Carer who sighs but smiles at their baby and gives them their hand. Feeling their hand squeeze theirs knowing that they are their safety and grounding.

“Ten minutes, bug. That’s enough time for you to breathe and settle down. Then we’re going to discuss what happened and what to do next time it does, okay?”

“Thank you.”

as opposed to root beer, kvass can't be easily connected to one specific country; instead, there are many regions and cuisines associated with it. therefore, to make the poll easier, the regions whose cuisines are associated with kvass (belarussian, estonian, latvian, lithuanian, polish, russian, ukrainian, and uyghur, and also finnish and swedish because the wikipedia article also lists them) shall be the Kvass Regions™.

originally i had separate options for "i like/love it" and "i'm ambivalent"=if there was no other option, i'd drink it, but i don't actively choose it out of other beverages" but it looked like Too Many Options for me, so now "like it just fine" = both "i love it" and "eh, drinkable". yeah i'm shamelessly copying the root beer poll u_u

"You're not gonna tell me where we're going?"

Steve glanced over at him, an easy grin on his face, before turning to watch the road once more, "Of course not! I told you that it was a surprise."

Jonathan sighed, head leaning back against his seat. "I know, I just wanna know," the annoyance he tried to push into his tone was overridden by the smile on his own face. He sometimes hated how easy it was around Steve these days. How easy it was to let go and just live.

"And I'm not letting you bug it out of me. Trust me, I've withstood Dustin and Max teaming up on me for a location when I took the party to see that weird-ass space movie last fall. I can withstand you."

Steve lowered one hand off the wheel and Jonathan didn't hesitate to reach out and grab it, intertwining their fingers. He blinked at himself, a little surprised, but that didn't stop him from continuing to tease his boyfriend, "Weird-ass space movie? You're gonna have to be more specific. They watch a lot of weird-ass space movies."

"I dunno. They were barely in space and there were a lot of whales too," Steve sighed. "The things I do for those kids, I swear."

"Not really anymore," Jonathan commented, turning to look out the windshield himself. It was hard to believe that nearly all of them had their license (with the exception of Max on account of her eyesight and Dustin, although Jonathan wasn't positive about why on that one). They had far more independence and self-reliance, which was how the two of them had cycled around to finally taking a weekend out of town. But of course Steve... "Are you sure you can't give me a hint?"

I got to thinking... What if that's what he looked like the first day from war? Then over time, got better!

If you’re late to the news Lego announced a new Lego line called Dreamzzz which is about a group of kids who travel to the dream world to protect it from the nightmare king.

i think we should remind musicians they can absolutely make up little stories for their songs btw. it doesn’t have to be about them at all. you can invent a guy and put him in situations to music. time honoured tradition in fact.
