nb was never actually a bad product. it just wasn’t og. so many ppl resisted the change for the sake of it, meanwhile the gameplay experience, the graphics, the audio, the f2p experience, even the vip experience was so much better in nb than in om. if you’re out here calling it a cash grab, i can only assume you don’t believe in paying artists for their work or paying for the media you consume. i have been here since 2020. i have seen this fandom in all its iterations, gone from 1000 likes on every fic i write to 50-100 likes on a good day.

now that the love we used to have in this fandom is gone for so many of you, we can only HOPE that solmare DOES see the financial value in om and wants to keep making money off us enough to keep the franchise around. at this point, i am dying for them to release another limited edition plushie or some other kind of merch as a cash grab; at least then i’d believe this fandom wasn’t dying.

Not very active in the tgcf fandom but the reason tgcf seems to attract stans that go on about how much "purer" it is might be bc they're clinging to xl's "pure" image/chastity vows? all of the MXTX mains have only had one person they were committed to for life, but nobody's virginity is an actual...plot point except for Xie Lian's, iirc. The others just don't find anyone they would love and like to be with until they do. Plus they seem to think HC not being very physical with XL (when hualian are not in a relationship yet) compared to bingqiu and wangxian in the extras (when the latter two *are*) is a sign that he respects/loves xl more than lbh and LWJ love their respective husbands.

I don’t agree. Every explanation I’ve seen for why tgcf is “better” than the other two novels is because it lacks the explicit sex that is apparently a “turn-off” for a lot of self-proclaimed mxtx fans. Nobody brings up Xie Lian’s vow of chastity, and it’s not a plot point any more than Wei Wuxian talking about saving his first kiss is a plot point (meanwhile, Luo Binghe’s virginity IS a major plot point in svsss). Hua Cheng not being viewed as physical with Xie Lian is also wild since they spend the whole novel making out. They are probably the most physical mxtx couple of the three when discussing only the main story.

Tgcf fans just have this superiority complex based on this lowkey offensive take that consensual kinky sex is morally bad if they, the read, aren’t personally turned on by it. Meanwhile, the things the “kinky” sex they rage against in svsss and mdzs—CNC—1) only exists in mdzs in wangxian’s dreams since wangxian suck at roleplaying irl, and not at all in svsss because the idea that Shen Qingqiu isn’t 100% consenting (in literally every single way he can express consent, be it verbally or through body language) at all times is something bingqiu haters made up, and 2) is implied to be a thing Xie Lian might also be into, as he enjoys being held down and overstimulated as per the extras that show snippets of hualian’s sex life.

Tgcf fans have an issue with explicitly shown sex—or at least how mxtx writes her explicit sex scenes—so tgcf not having any explicit sex scenes allows them to project their own bullshit ideas of “healthy sex” onto hualian in a way they can’t do for bingqiu and wangxian. This involves them ignoring hualian’s actual textual relationship, but since when do these types of fans privilege reading in their imaginings?

someone liked one of my TOH headcanon posts from earlier this year and it reminded me about the specific headcanons i have for exactly what types of games the hexsquad plays and how they play them.

luz is obv an RPG fantasy fan. anything with a juicy story and a character creator and complex lore she’ll love. she definitely plays series like elder scrolls and baldur’s gate and final fantasy. she also plays final fantasy 14 and has her character as the good witch luzura and she isnt good at playing it like an mmo is supposed to be played but she loves the story. when endwalker came out luz couldnt stop sobbing to the point that camila was actually worried about her. also enjoys roguelikes such as hades or binding of isaac even if she can only play for so long before getting too frustrated. she also 100% plays genshin impact and gets into arguments online with other genshin fans.

amity is a fighting game girl. she is highly competitive and practices combos with her eyes shut. she prefers the tekken series but when luz wants to play with her they play guilty gear bcus luz likes it’s art style the most. she also likes fantasy RPGs but is way more picky about which ones she plays. she likes fire emblem. she also plays ff14 with luz and is actually good at the game (she carries luz sometimes) but isnt a huge fan of MMOs. she also is the one in the friend group with the NASA ass PC rig with a custom case and the most organized wiring you’ve ever seen with the lcd screen on the liquid cooled cpu and the azura figurine inside the case. she also does custom wraps for all her consoles.

hunter likes games that are very much like, micromanagement sims. like civ5 or cities skylines or factorio (i dont know anything about it but ive been assured by my sister that hunter plays modded factorio) but he’s also a fan of like, old school FPS games like doom and half life. i can see him doing speedruns of those games. (also he 100% once got addicted to some game like fuckin. galactic pinball or something to the point where he was staying up all night and not sleeping so he could play more pinball. in order to get him to stop playing so much and actually get some sleep, gus used illusions to make hunter think he was hallucinating about pinball and scared him into not looking at a single screen or monitor for like three weeks.)

gus is a very chill gamer but he likes games that he can sink hours and hours into. instead of playing a wide variety of games he has a select few that he dedicates his time into learning every last mechanic, but there’s also some games he just plays casually. like with pokemon games he’ll put hundreds of hours into them and carefully curate his team and does like nuzlocke runs but when he plays on his and willow’s shared-custody new horizons island he’ll just walk around and catch bugs and shit and not really worry about upgrading his house and make matching fits with his favorite villager.

willow prefers cozy games, like slime rancher or stardew valley or the aforementioned shared new horizons island, but she’s also a fucking menace about them. like she goes HARD on the min-maxing and automation and shit. while gus is wandering around their island catching fish, willow’s busy rearranging her fully upgraded mansion up in the hills and harassing any villagers she doesnt like with nets and deciding what hybrids to plant in front of her bell trees (she only has bell trees for the aesthetic. gus isnt allowed to harvest them) she would also be running the most high profit slime ranch ever but the way she treats her slimes makes hunter upset whenever he sees her just fuckin throwing them off a cliff the second they arent useful to her anymore. (meanwhile hunter names each one of his slimes and always feeds them their favorite foods and cried over casey & beatrix)

vee enjoys survival/strategic horror games, like DBD, resident evil, deadspace, or even FNAF. she’s the type of person to see the goriest most violent death in a video game ever and just go “ew yucky” then carry on. masha and her are often playing DBD together while in a call and are the most annoying pair of suvivors ever. she also likes games such as original katamari and pikmin 1 and chulip. she's also the undefeated DDR champion of the friend group.

and of COURSE they all play video games together. they all have a terraria world they play on together where they all are focused on their own little projects while still working together and are slowly building up their own village/mansion/castle/fort but luz keeps rushing ahead of everyone just bcus she's so excited and she definitely somehow ends up summoning the wall of flesh accidentally

they DID have a modded minecraft world for a few months with both tech mods and magic mods but while hunter, amity, and vee all focused on their factories and computers and technology, gus, willow, and luz fucked around with all the crazy magic and accidentally found out by blowing up a factory. this is where heightened tension between the the warlocks & the scientists began. this spark eventually turned into a full fledged war that lasted two months before it ended in mutually assured destruction to the point where no one could actually load into the server without their game crashing.

bonus: camila isnt much of a gamer with one exception-- when she was in college manny introduced her to WoW and got her hooked. it was Their Game that they played together all the time. they made cosplays of their characters together. they had several dates in game. they optimized their characters to perfect compliment one another when they ran dungeons with their guild. even since manny passed camila still plays every so often and keeps in touch with their guild members. for the longest time luz has 0 idea that camila plays WoW at all and only finds out after the whole secret nerd confession.

How’s TXT doing on the Billboard charts?

The group reached number one on the 200 and Artist 100 at the same time

For the week of February 11, TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s album The Name Chapter: TEMPTATIONdebuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Sales for the first week, which ended on February 2, totaled 162,000 units, made up of 152,000 physical albums and 13.24 million streams (the equivalent of roughly 9,000 copies). The majority of sales were CDs, which accounted for 149,000 units; the album wasn’t released in any other formats like vinyl or cassette. Fourteen different versions were sold, including special editions at Barnes & Noble and Target, a limited edition from Weverse and signed copies from the group’s official US website.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER has so far had all seven of their albums placed on the Billboard 200. The best performers were The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE (number five) and minisode 2: Thursday’s Child(number four), but now TEMPTATION has gone on to be their first number-one album. Excluding their two Japanese albums, every album has charted higher and faster than the previous.

Physical album sales are still important for the Billboard 200 other than with genres that see particularly strong streaming performance like hip hop. That’s especially true for K-pop groups, who have loyal fan bases. TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been number one on the Top Album Sales chart with every release since Blue Hour, but it takes something more to go beyond that and top the Billboard 200. A look at the weekly sales figures behind the group’s number-one albums show the journey they took to get them there: Blue Hour sold 18,000 copies, FREEZE sold 39,000, Thursday’s Child 66,000 and TEMPTATION 152,000. What we’re basically seeing here is a numerical representation of the size of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s fan base.

The competition they were up against for number one was SOS by SZA and Gloria by Sam Smith. SOShad been the biggest hit of 2023 to date, sitting at number one for seven weeks—until last week. It fell to second for the week of February 11, still selling an impressive 100,000 copies. If SOS had managed to hold on to number one for an eighth week, it’s very likely it would’ve gone on to become the first R&B/hip hop album to top the chart for nine weeks since Drake’s Views. Gloria, meanwhile, was one of the most talked-about albums in January on the back of the hugely successful single “Unholy.” Other than that song and the newer single “I’m Not Here to Make Friends,” however, the album didn’t perform particularly well where streaming is concerned. In the end, it came in at number seven with 390,000 copies sold.

That same week, TOMORROW X TOGETHER was number one on the Artist 100 chart—a first for the group. The only other K-pop artists to top the Artist 100 have been BTS (21 times), BLACKPINK (twice), SuperM and TWICE (once each). For reference, the Artist 100 chart aggregates sales using a similar method to the Billboard 200—counting album and track sales as well as radio airplay and streams—but measures an artist’s overall performance rather than an individual album. People usually talk about the Artist 100 and Billboard 200 together, but it’s extremely difficult to top both at the same time. There’s also the Hot Trending Songs chart, which makes its list based on Twitter buzz, where the five tracks off TEMPTATION hit numbers one, three, five, seven and 15.

Where there's smoke there's fire

On the 5th of February the news dropped of Cristian Horners alleged sexual misconduct with a female RedBull staffer, while the woman's identity remained a secret to the public, we knew she was well known around the paddock. In the ensuing days it remains "business as usual" for RB despite cries on social media for Horner's dismissal (or suspension) and the next weekend (5 days after news broke) he was seen meeting with his lawyer. RedBull put out a statement confirming that there was an internal investigation being held by a third-party barrister, i guess in a small effort to appear impartial. The investigation goes on for 3 weeks, meanwhile the only information we have is that there is an investigation, and that there are apparently over 100 pieces of evidence. Accusations flying from every direction towards anything living and breathing in the paddock, and no one knows what's speculation, rumour, or truth. Until it's released that the investigation has concluded, and that "the grievance has been dismissed". Not that Horner has been cleared, but it's been dismissed. No further word on the investigation has been mentioned since. A few days after that, a google drive was emailed to every team principle, media personnel and big name in Formula 1 with screenshots of the "alleged" misconduct in the form of whatsapp message screenshots, videos, and photos. I don't think I need to explain the online male consensus was, but the paddock's public consensus was to stay quiet.

The release of these images, whether real or fake, pivoted the situation. It's confirmed that the accuser was Horner's PA and that the validity of the situation couldn't be ignored. Since then, a number of drivers have called the scandal "Noise" or "distractions" or simply preferring to reiterate "that it doesn't affect/bother (them)" and reminding everyone that they are just here to drive.

We have seen over this month the number attempts to cover the situation up, to downplay it, and to move the conversation away. And all im left wondering is, how does Formula 1 intend to keep the female fanbase they've seemed so desperate to accumulate when the sport clearly can't handle the maintenance of morality and inclusion they were preaching just a few years ago. Helmut marko, Ben Sulayem, Jos verstappen, and numerous TP's have come out trying to influence the PR outcome of this whole debacle, yet only one driver has said anything of any substance since this whole thing started. Meanwhile female RB employees are getting doxxed (in attmepts to root out the accuser), female content creators are getting harrassed and doxxed by male fans of the sport, and every single woman in the paddock can tell you that when there's smoke, there's fire.

If one woman felt like she needed to come forward, despite having known Horner-and being involved in the sport- for years, knowing the danger and public scrutiny that would come with her telling her truth. Knowing that she most likely will never get another job in F1– or motorsport–again, how many other women have there been?

We've seen sexual assault and harassment committed live on F1TV, sky sports, and on any broadcaster associated with F1 since it's creation. It's not new, most women don't work in male-dominated fields and still 97% have experienced sexual harassment in their lives.

I hope this hasnt blown up yet, I hope we get news soon and I hope the full details are revealed. Most people have made up their minds about the situation already despite the lack of information, but the damage seems to have been done. CH's reputation is dusted, Max has been surprisingly coy, the general feelings towards the FIA ,most drivers, and F1 in general are below neutral, and even if this turns out to be a massive plot for Marko, Verstappen Sr., and the Austrian RedBull sector to gain control that Horner previously attempted to snake out the door with, it's done potentially irreversible damage to the female F1 fanbase thats grown from this past year.

Hi there! Thank you for your interest in this silly thing! Oh, it is 100% NOT going to be a Disney Channel series. It's not going to be a Disney anything. It's fan-made! It's art, fancanons, ideas, and snippets of fanfic. It's not a blueprint for anything official, just for fun. We don't own Lilo and Stitch's franchise or any piece of it! This is a fan spinoff. More detail under the cut!

Stitch and Ani is something I made up when I was 13 (so, a long time ago). In 2008, Disney released a Japanese anime spinoff of Lilo and Stitch: the Series called Stitch!. We hated on it for a long time for obvious reasons. Then in 2011, the anime released Season 3's 23rd episode, Lilo and the Reunion Day.

And I watched it and thought something like, "That's dumb, why did they do that, it could be better! I like the idea of Lilo having a daughter but the way they did it sucks." So I redid it with drawings and fanfics for myself because that's fun. I made up Zeke as Ani's father and the catalyst for Lilo and Stitch being separated, and I made up Kai as the mentioned-but-never-seen-in-the-anime child of David/Nani, and I redid Ani's physical appearance and gave her a personality outside of "Lilo 2.0". And then it grew from there and I decided to just remove any part of the anime from the Stitch and Ani 'canon' completely. As for Arti - I'll explain. ArtistIssues is my IRL sister (for those of you who weren't aware)! We're twins. She's by far the family expert on L&S, but we've both loved the franchise since we were little and watched the first film in theaters. Obsessed. It's been about 14 years since I first created Stitch and Ani, and for a good while it was just mine, and somewhere down the line Arti was basically like "have I told you my ideas about 621 and the cousins", and she had this whole excellent fancanon of her own that would easily tie in to my Stitch and Ani stuff. 621 was already vaguely the villain in my Stitch and Ani ideas, but I spent very little time on what he would do in the story because I like the humans best, whereas Arti's own separate story ideas were almost wholly focused on 621 and on Leroy and the rest of the Experiments. So we combined the ideas, essentially. Almost every part of what 621 is doing in this story with the cousins is Arti's handiwork, and basically everything else - the family drama, the human OCs, the way the story goes for Lilo and Stitch and Ani - that's all my handiwork. The basic story premise for Stitch and Ani is that it's a look at the future lives of the Pelekai family. Stitch and Lilo have been reunited after being apart for years (due to a misunderstanding in the past involving Ani's mysteriously-absent dad and Lilo and Stitch's behavior toward each other during her time in college), and now Lilo has a daughter and Nani has a son, and the family is trying to figure out how to go back to normal living on Kauai again with all this baggage from the past between them. Ani was a lonely kid living on Honolulu (with Lilo as a single parent) before the reunion with Stitch/Jumba/Pleakley, and Kai was an only child with David and Nani and an island full of aliens on Kauai before the reunion. Ani is excited to finally have a big family, and was raised on stories of Stitch and the other aliens so she's living the dream. Kai is not living the dream and does not like the alien half of his Ohana during the story - he's the series bully. Stitch and Lilo have some relational issues to work out and Ani ends up helping them with that during the story, while also learning where she fits in with the family. Meanwhile, the cousins on the island are disappearing from their One True Places, and 621 is behind that and the family has to figure out how that's happening and how to stop it so that everyone can be happy where they belong. The story is about redemption, selflessness, and unconditional love. The same things the original Lilo and Stitch was about 21 years ago! But the biggest theme in Stitch and Ani is actually forgiveness. (There's a separate story thread involving Zeke and what happened to him, but the story as a whole is not about Zeke and doesn't come into the main plot much. The explanation for what happened with Z is being kept secret for now, both from you guys and from Ani!) We're just doing this for fun together. Arti has much, much less time to contribute to the blog than I do because I work from home and she doesn't, and as we get older we have less time and energy to focus on fanart and fan projects, but we'll always love Lilo and Stitch, and I'll continue posting here as often as the mood takes me!

And well all those people have one problem and that's Steve. Like their faves, namely Jancy, they are allowed to hate Steve for what he did in s1. Despite Nancy in the show dating him for a year after that or Jonathan getting his ass saved twice (plus he got an apology and new camera that was probably much better than his old one). But as soon as Steve shows any negative emotions to those two, who without a doubt hurt him he's not allowed to do so. And if you point it out you're automatically anti Jancy or a misogynist. Same with when you make Robin defend Steve, they throw a fit even tho in the show Robin just wants the best for bff. But bc it's Steve they take away this part because how dare anyone say something good about him. It's funny how they insist he's the worst or always bring up Steve's mistakes from s1 when he is the only character out of those 3 who actually grew, owned up his mistakes and became a better person. Meanwhile Jancy is still stuck in their ways and are stagnant, like they still the same people acting the same. They never showed remorse for hurting Steve because they don't give a fuck. Jonathan never made it up to Steve for taking those photos of him, or for sleeping with his gf. And Nancy doesn't think she hurt him with the way she ended things and yet Steve in the show and fandom still loves them and probably has to make it up to Jonathan in s5 because other wise he would be perceived as an ass.

However, I didn't think ill of the pairing itself because no one understands it better than Kubo. So all I did was re-reading their scenes comparing them to other relationships and Kawaichappy was a true blessing. She / he made me love Ichiruki more that I could ever imagine.

I refuse to be a pawn in this viscous circle that Kubo set us to. I think the best solution to cut this chain is not forgiving him or feeling pity for him but to stop holding a grudge against him (even though you have every right to) and just let it go. That's why, I chose to see the good side of things.

When Bleach was getting cancelled, Kubo could have saved his ass by making ichiruki p0rk and throwing an IR baby at us. In the first chapter, Ichigo was hesitant to let Rukia stab him with her sword. He was scared shitless even though his family were literaly half dead and Rukia was injured because of him ... yep your hero ladies and gentlemen. It was Yuzu's bravery, selflessness and love for her brother that made him accept this life changing decision.

When the guy didn't have the courage to be the main character and to start off the manga in the first place but it was his little sisters' bravery that inspired him to take the first step then it was Rukia's ethics in the second chapter that shaped his idea of how an ideal hero should be.

The second reason why you shouldn't feel petty about your otp not being canon in this fake ending is you know who should be frustated ? Kubo. 

He may act tough, shitposting himself and pulling cr*p from there to there but you can't convince me that seeing his manga torn and burned, getting insults from everywhere (even though he deserves it) didn't have any effect on him.

Obviously, we felt alienated reading the last chapter but imagine the guy who created those characters that had been living in his mind for 15 years, imagine feeling alienated by what you had created.

I remember reading somewhere that during Fade to Black writting process, he sat in a corner, was frustrated with himself because he couldn't figure out what kind of name Rukia would think is suitable for those siblings. He was determined to dive into Rukia's character and find out what kind of name SHE would like. He cared so much about staying true to her character.

Sure he was frustrated, angry at everyone. Sure he wanted to burn everything down before getting cancelled. But you can't convince me that the love he once had for his life achievement vanished completly

You can't convince me that he didn't hope that things were concluded in better circumstances.

In a way, you may feel sad for IR not having a decent closure. But bear in mind, no one is more petty than Kubo and his constant self sabotage since 2016 is the proof.

Meanwhile, with Yakuza, anything gets announced and not only do you know it’s going to slap hard as shit because they make Good Games and have done so for years now, you also know it’s getting localized 100% because now people Remember These Yakuza on a weekly basis and ever since 0 and Kiwami, Yakuza went from “game journos once again show us exactly how worthless they are by comparing it to GTA even though they are not at all similar to one another as games” to “beloved household name”.

Because we do know the Holiday family exist in the Undertale timeline and that reside in Snowdin (of course). From the Undertale Alarm Clock Winter Dialogue, Asgore reminisce about Rudy, and also mentions his daughters. 

And while Rudy has “Fallen Down” in the Undertale timeline, his daughters are confirmed to be alive to see the True Pacifist Ending:

And they are one of the few confirmed set of sisters that we have in the Toby Fox Multiverse (unlike with Monster Kid, who has a sister, but their gender is unspecified in the game’s text. If they’re supposed to have any sort of canon gender they’re probably nonbinary). And from the ones we have... Catty and Catti have very distinctive speech patterns (and we don’t even know if Catti exist in this timeline), Shyren and Shyra speek in, like, solfège. Meanwhile, the second line matches Noelle’s speech pattern and personality just fine. We still don’t know a lot about Dess, but it sounds like she was more assertive than her little sister and that does match the first flower.

I think that if these two flowers are meant to be anyone and aren’t just two random flowers, Noelle and Dess are the most (maybe only) likely suspects. We know the concept for Deltarune already existed at the time, that could have been a super-subtle hint for it. I know it’s not a 100% confirmation of anything, but... I think it’s likely.

I don't even make content people), so decided to write up a list of some (but not all, I'll make other lists later) of my favorite Bakugou-centric fic recs. my tastes run towards hurt/comfort, as you'll probably figure from the list. if there are some Baku-centric fics that you've enjoyed that aren't on here, please add them - this is definitely not a complete list of the ones I've read and love, but I'm always up for some recs. <3

After the Sport’s Festival, Katsuki starts to get harassed by strangers for his unheroic demeanor. It starts with letters but it doesn’t end there. The moment Katsuki realizes the harassment has entered dangerous territory and he needs to tell someone, it’s already too late.

hands down my favorite fic in the fandom right now. it’s the one that converted me into a Bakugou lover. if you have any fondness for Bakugou as a character then it’s likely you’ve read this one already, but if not, I can’t recommend it enough. incredibly depressing, but with the hope that comfort is coming soon in the next few chapters.

I rarely see mental health genuinely handled well in fics, but this one goes above and beyond. kudos to the author for doing such excellent research into psychology, and making the application of it in here not-boring. also, while this one does have abusive!Mitsuki, it’s done in a way that feels realistic, and how I usually will see it occur in real life, rather than just for the hurt/comfort feels.

fair warning, the fic can be incredibly triggering (themes of severe depression, PTSD, panic attacks, rape survival, abuse survival, suicidal ideation/attempted suicide, among other things), so be safe and heed the tw’s if you decide to read. legitimately one of my Top Favorite fics in this fandom.

Bakugou made a choked, gravelly noise before croaking out a low, “You can’t be serious.” His fingers ached to blow up everything in the room.

“I’m sorry, young man, but you can’t change reality! This sometimes happens.” Recovery Girl clicked through his file, adding a new symbol in a previously empty slot.

A pair of eyes discreetly locked on to an explosive blond plowing his way forward, parting people in his path. He recognized the kid, of course. Anyone in the underbelly of society would recognize him, after the publicity of both UA’s Sports Festival and the events leading up to All Might’s fall. The uniform he was wearing cast away any doubts about the young man’s identity.

It was a bit of a surprise that the little firecracker presented as an omega.

Or: there are certain types of evil that seemed too distant, archaic violations and perversions that would never actually threaten bright-eyed heroes-in-training in the clean, modern world...but sometimes those evils aren't as distant as one might think.

remember when I said that I love a/b/o fics that are full of plot and world-building and gender-induced tension? that’s this one. the OC’s are fabulous and you love to hate ‘em. also, it’s the fic that made me fall head-over-heels for the TodoBaku dynamic, so it’s got a special place in my cold, dead heart. 

be warned, there are rather explicit non-con scenes between an adult (OC) and a minor (Bakugou) in this one, but the author warns for them in advance, and you could likely skip those parts without missing too much if you need to.

Never and Always, Eventually by Wawa_Boonliang

"Katsuki can remember the exact moment that he and Deku…that he and Midoriya Izuku became friends. He can also remember the moment he and Izuku became fierce rivals, a time when they were almost enemies.

Lessons Learned by Sif (Rosae)

Rather than the police station, Katsuki's friends bring him to a hospital after rescuing him from the villains. His wounds were minor, but it didn't make having them treated any less important. As it would so happen, Best Jeanist was also brought to this hospital after the attack.

Sometimes, small choices have a big impact on how a story plays out.

classic Bakugou hurt/comfort. this fic opened me up to the potential that could be a genuinely good Best Jeanist & Katsuki mentor-mentee relationship, and I kind of dig it and search ravenously for it in other fics now. I’m also a huge fan of the behind-the-scences Pro Hero Chat group.

Or: the one where Katsuki and Izuku fail the first term exam, Aizawa discovers their pasts, and Katsuki is booted from UA. Featuring questionable descriptions of villain organizations, a slightly illegal moving shop, and your favorite emotionally constipated badass in distress with a newly discovered penchant for collecting strays.

paaaaaaiiiiiiiin. the hurt is ALIVE in this one. lots of tortured, angsty exploding child goodness. the OC’s are excellently crafted, and the Bakugou & Eri relationship? beautiful. definitely deserves a read.

Ground Zero by WindsChild8178

In the wake of Kamino, Katsuki is tested more than anyone could imagine. Bound by a villain’s quirk to keep his silence or die, he lives each day knowing it might very well be his last. He continues to work towards becoming a hero, keeping his secret from his classmates and teachers, focusing on making it through each day and trying not to allow the panic or depression to get the best of him. When the villain finally corners him with demands in exchange for his life, there is really only one answer Katsuki Bakugou can give.

honestly don't know which I want updated more - social media 101 or ground zero. this author's fics are amazing, and I really wasn't expecting the twist in this one. can't wait for windschild to come back to this fic some day.

sob story good guy villains are my weakness, this fic is a gem, and I'd kill for the sequel.

Short re-imagining of the Sports Festival Arc if Shinso had planned a little better and worked a little harder to win the Sports Festival and if the match-ups had been slightly different. Self-indulgent fic of watching him succeed.

this is completely Shinsou-centric, not Bakugou-centric, but I love and adore it and am dying for a sequel. Shinsou is Best Boy here and you'll be rooting for him the whole time.

Very mad at @jelloapocalypse for making the valid point that a new Pokemon type should have an established minimum example requirement for the contextual scientific community to accept it, cus now I’m going out of my way to read every Pokedex entry to hit 47 (905 current Pokemon/19 types= 47.63) for my own fan types

That said, for the sake of argument, this isn’t logic that was ever used in canon. Gen 2 introduced both Steel and Dark, and of the 151 Pokemon present before that point, only two were reclassified as Steel (Magnemite and Magneton) and none were reclassified as Dark. By Jello’s logic, at least 8 Pokemon of each type should have been reclassified to those two types (151 Pokemon/17 types=8.88)

If we expand to include the Pokemon included in the new generation and not just reclassified Pokemon, then both types should have had 14 (251/17=14.76). Again though, there were only six of both Steel (the two Magnes, Steelix, Forretress, Scizor and Skarmory) and Dark (Umbreon, Murkrow, Sneasel, Houndour, Houndoom, and Tyranitar). Even if you consider the addition of two new types and split the requirement between the two of them, that still leaves us two short

Meanwhile, Fairy type had 22 existing Pokemon reclassified out of 649 prior to Gen 6; with an 18th type, the requirement should have been 36 (649/18=36.06). Within Gen 6′s 721, another 13 were introduced, giving us 35, falling just short of the new requirement of 40 (721/18=40.06)

Jello’s formula of (# of previously known Pokemon/# of potential types=# of required reclassifications) simply does not hold up to scrutiny based on the canon

HOWEVER! The data available may still be able to provide a usable formula

Looking at Gen 2′s numbers again, we had 12 Pokemon classified across 2 new types out of 251 Pokemon. 12/251=0.0478. Multiplied by 100, that gives us 4.78% total. The two types individually both had 6 Pokemon, so each was 2.39% of the total

For Gen 6, we had 35 Fairy Pokemon out of 721. 35/721=0.0485. Times 100, 4.85%

Though we only have two data points here, they are surprisingly consistent, so I think we can use that to establish a formula going forward

For the sake of simplicity, I’m going to round both of those percentages down to 4.5%, as that will guarantee that both of our previous examples go above the minimum requirement without requiring that we round down

0.045 (the total required proportion of Pokemon of the new type or types) x P (the current total number of Pokemon within the generation the type is being introduced) / T (the number of new types being added to the current generation) = M (the minimum number of Pokemon required for each type to be considered viable)

(0.045xP)/T=M

Gen 2: (0.045x251)/2=5.65. Both Dark and Steel had 6 Pokemon, greater than the required 5. Pass!

Gen 6: (0.045x721)/1=32.45. Fairy had 35 Pokemon, greater than the required 32. Pass!

How this formula is used for fans depends entirely on what their goal is

If the goal is to create a single new type solely based on existing Pokemon without creating any of their own, then yes, we need to look at the current generation’s 905 Pokemon (ignoring those already announced for Scarlet and Violet, because that number is about to change real soon)

(0.045x905)/1=40.73. Jello reclassified 49 total, so he well surpassed the minimum requirement of 40. Huzzah! (note: based on the video, he seems to be counting a new Rotom form as one, which I don’t count, but he did also count both Roggenrola and Boldore without counting Gigalith, so I think it’d be fair to replace that missing 49th with Gigalith)

Now, if Jello or any other totally hypothetical tumblr user had wanted to make, say, EIGHT new types without introducing any new Pokemon...

(0.045x905)/8=5.09

...then this random, no-name individual that definitely doesn’t exist would need to reclassify a minimum of 5 Pokemon per type

Of course, we could IGNORE the number of new types altogether if we really wanted. We could just consider it as 4.5% of Pokemon must be classified as at least one of the new types and not worry about each type specifically

By that logic, Steel could have just as well only introduced 1 new Pokemon and Dark could have introduced 10 (0.045x251=11.56) or vice versa and the new generation types would have been perfectly acceptable

The eight hypothetical types would still require at least 40 total Pokemon, but they could be distributed as necessary. If one of the eight only had, for example, one three-stage Pokemon filling out three slots but still missed two to hit the required 5, another type that has at least 7 would pick up the slack, and so long as all of them together totaled 40, it would be acceptable

If the goal is to make a new region and add a type, then the number would be determined based on the number of Pokemon the individual is willing to make up

Let’s assume that Jello’s Sound type Pokemon were the only ones being added to his hypothetical new region and, aside from the unmentioned starters and evolutions, no others. On top of the 21 he and his group created, we can add 8 for the starters, giving us 29 (if we count the Sound/Fighting cockatiel that Jello didn’t really land on but got a design anyway). I’m not going to count Pokemon he alluded to like the potential evolution of the Sound/Ghost theremin or pre-evolution of the Sound/Poison snake, so on top of the 905 existing Pokemon, we’re gonna call our total 934 with 78 Sound types. 78/934=0.0835, or 8.35%, almost double the required amount

If we assume that Jello added a total of 72 new Pokemon, equivalent to the smallest generation, Gen 6, then that would give us a total of 977 Pokemon. 78/977=0.0798, 7.98%

If 156, equivalent to the largest generation, Gen 5, that would put as 1061. 78/1061=0.0735, 7.35%

In other words, Jello went way above and beyond what was strictly speaking necessary, even in the most stringent feasible scenario

 In fact, if the total was 1061...

.045x1061=47.75

...Jello’s original estimate of 47 would have been perfectly accurate!

So yeah, if you hit 47, either by reclassifying Pokemon or making your own Fakemon, dividing it evenly among multiple types or using multiple to compensate for a lack of options, you can pretty much rest assured that you have more than you need!

...At least until Gen 9 throws off that number, but still! Consider adding 72 and 156 to the total to get an idea for the kind of range you want to be working with, and you’re golden!

TL;DR: to be in line with the established minimum set by Gens 2 and 6, a new Pokemon type should make up 4.5% of the total number of Pokemon, so either work with the current total or your goal to figure out how many you should reclassify or create of the new type
