Hey babes, do you happen to have an anon list/be interested in starting one? I feel bad that I never comment or show your work the VERBAL attention it deserves mostly just bc I’m too anxious. I feel like it would be easier if I had a lil emoji sign off to use so I can show some proper appreciation for your work without feeling all weird about it. Just an idea !!
I'll be real honest... I have never heard of an anon list so I don't understand what this means or what I should do 😂🙈

First "Date"
This was the prompt of the day in Discord, and so I finally got motivated enough to write something for these two.
"Hey, there's something I want to show you." Her voice is soft and gentle as her touch, as she shakes him awake. Aymeric opens his eyes to the dim predawn of Moghome to find Kaia standing beside his bedroll, looking entirely too awake. Her enthusiasm for whatever's gotten her attention is palpable, and he finds himself smiling along as he stretches and takes her offered hand. Her ears swivel and she's practically vibrating as she motions for him to be quiet, almost conspiratorially leading him up the path and out of the top of the village, making sure not to disturb Alphinaud or any of the sleeping moogles.
"It's not far! It's worth it, I promise!" She releases his hand as she turns from the path and starts heading away from the village, toward the edge of the floating cliffs and empty air. He decides not to dwell on how the sudden loss feels.
Near the cliff's edge, overlooking the endless expanse of clouds, is a warm blanket and a travel coffee service setup. She settles down on the blanket and offers him a mug, steaming in the crisp morning chill. As they get seated, the earliest glimpse of the sun strikes the clouds, shifting the morning light from gray to pink. In just a few minutes, the sea of clouds beneath them is a brilliant roiling mass of orange and pink, only broken by the drifting of broken scraps of landmasses.
"I've known I needed to show you this ever since I first saw it. And look, if you look closely you can sometimes see creatures moving about! I can't really tell from here what…"
As she excitedly points out small details, he turns to look at her and is struck by how radiant she looks in the warm light. Her hair the color of the clouds, her skin shining bronze. The wind picks up and she leans in slightly, and suddenly he's aware that she smells like sun-warmed greenery and some flower he doesn't know and oh, she's very close.
"…do you?" When she turns to look at him for an answer to the question she had just asked, he realizes he had been completely lost. The look on her face is enough to give him hope, but his own sense of propriety cuts him off as he quickly looks away and shifts apart from her slightly.
"It's beautiful, thank you. I've never really seen anything like it," he deflects, poorly, but she sits up straighter and plays along.
"I can mark this one off the list, then."
"The list?" He turns back to her, curious.
"I've been making a list. You don't get out of the city nearly enough, Lord Commander, and I intend to fix that. There are so many wonderful things you should get to see," she's emphatic, gesturing broadly to the horizon. He can almost imagine what it would be like to just go with her, leaving Ishgard to deal with itself. A sweet daydream, but ultimately just a dream.
"That sounds lovely. Perhaps one day, when things are under control…"
"I'll keep it updated."
