anyway can we instead take a moment to criticize this "digital deluxe preorder cumblast DLC" shit video games are now doing that effectively locks content and sometimes features behind a timed paywall which is dogwater for preserving said content. i for one despise it

#soda offers you a can #the very idea of preordering a game in an era where physical releases are being phased out is. asinine #preordering a physical game when digital wasn't the norm made sense. it guaranteed you a copy on release date #preordering a digital game makes no fucking sense bc the copies aren't limited #so now we need to make funny bonus content to incentivize it which ranges from meaningless drivel to soon-to-be-lost media #what an awful evolution of a system that used to work decently well!

love when i give a piece of media my 110% attention and still walk out confused

#this is about perfect blue #although i think it was made confusing on purpose #it's so that the audience can grasp an essence of what mima is going through psychologically but damn...#some scenes made me so uncomfortable too i had to abuse the fast forward key #and i would never rewatch. i like less traumatizing media thank you #in fact i would like to forget about this #this is like when i watched the platform (movie) at 1am with my cousins and it scarred me forever #ive been trying to delete that from my mind ever since #I know the movie is about how fucked up our societal structure is but the gore got to me. i was fine with saw gore but not this apparently.#anyways yeah. moving on. gonna catch up to honey lemon soda and dr stone anime next. to change the mood. yeah.#still an excellent movie through and through bc you have to be a genius to write a deeply compelling story like this.#to be able to attract and confuse and upset and make your audience feel so much in 1.5 hours

Siffrin and Loop are the same person like Coke Cola and Shasta Cola are the same thing, which basically means they sure did start with the same idea but fuck is the outcome super different despite their similarities

#I'm not maintagging this cause teehee #But I do need for y'all to know that one time in junior high our prof made us taste test different coke and Pepsi soda brands to prove a #Point which was that our brains and tongues would confuse the different brands for the same thing for some reason (can't remember the lesso #) but I can actually differentiate all coke brands and Pepsi brands from each other and also tell if it's soda fountain vs can vs plastic #Vs glass. Which ruined his fucking lesson and he was PISSED at me like lmao #Fucking loser! Anyway yeah this is all to say that I see Siffrin and Loop as very similar individuals who have gone through horrible things #And one of them grew past their bad coping skills while the other swerved hard back into them #So yaknow your boy is going teehee over here watching this

#im going thru old flipnotes i used to watch years ago and ouggghhg so many good ones #is twenty one pilots still popular.... do people still remember the TRNDSTTER and marble soda meme.........#its like im unlocking some sort of primal part of my brain and everything is coming back to me. one of my biggest inspirations as a kid #i still remember thinking the final transmission lyrics were the coolest thing and watching =TopHat= Bee and Melissa over and over #theres a very specific feeling of longing and nostalgia looking back and watching these again years later #especially when there isnt anything genshin or mcyt and instead its either fnaf undertale eddsworld or another obscure #interest... and not even fnaf sister location its like fnaf 3 and 2. its THAT old. and a lot of oc MVs especially pokemon ocs and furries..#god but they were so creative u know. i still find it amazing ppl took this little lightbox animation on the fucking NINTENDO DS and #cranked it all the way to 11.. like if u look at the transitions and movement its so fucking fluid its insane..!! HOW DO YOU MAKE THE #CHARACTERS SPIN??? AND CHANGING CAMERA ANGLES??? and keep in mind youre doing this all with a shitty stylus #on a THREE BY TWO INCH SCREEN. you only get two layers you can go up to 29FPS and you only have 999 slides to work with #and 24FPS eats up a lot of that. absolutely insane it literally boggles my mind every time i think about it. AND SOME ARE EVEN FULL COLOR #i forgot how popular EDM was back then too...they were really good for timing beats though so you get a lot of MVs with #strobe last and marble soda. porter robinsons goodbye to a world was also popular with undertale and oc MVs. also a lot of vocaloid #someone made a flipnote abt the warner bros fnaf movie being announced EIGHT FUCKING YEARS AGO. it even used the stay calm audio from #the office.... i wonder how theyre doing now... i love you shitty grainy MV audio.. but i have mixed feelings abt the flashing colors #ppl LOVED animating the sans vs frisk fight. aishite and primadonna were also big ones they were SICK AS FUCK #lots of these inspired my old oc designs.. a lot of my characters had side bangs with one eye covered. animal ears and simple eyes too #now i kinda wanna try my hand at the marble soda meme cause i loved it as a kid lol.. i wonder if i should compare my old and new art here #UGHHHH IM SO NORMAL ABOUT NOSTALGIA. Unironically, being with my wife makes me go outside more often. Mostly on dates. Which has also led me to 1) being more comfortable when it comes to eating, and 2) being way less anxious overall.

It's nice to be able to enjoy food again. It's nice to try out new places. It's nice to be able to speak when someone asks me something. It's nice to enjoy going out and shopping. It's nice to enjoy life again, y'know?

#I hate my life tbh #The fact that everything has a trauma is SO ANNOYING.#Like can I be NORMAL about ONE THING PLEASE #cries #Anyway I'm trying to fight off depression without getting myself a soda and it made me even more depressed to restrict my soda intake #upon which I remembered that as a teenager my father would complain that me and my brother were #and I quote #''Eating him out of house and home''#So I started heavily restricting the food I ate at home #Literally made half a can tuna sandwiches and cut those in half and that half a sandwich?#That was a meal for me at home #Used to steal food and milk from school to get more food in me #combine that food insecurity trauma with the fact that as a small child #my mom would give me soda to make me stop crying #and now you have an adult who doesn't know how to process negative emotions without using soda as a crutch #And upon restricting that soda I feel Worse #orz

#daisy.txt #as a disabled person the amount of ableism in this book (not just from the characters #who could be written as cruel intentionally to Say Something but from the narration and story itself)#made me feel absolutely like. god awful #its not an empathetic exploration of medical abuse. i do not feel that this book really cares that this stuff happens in real life.#its hard to stomach but if anyone can feel free to give it a read and report back #its a short book at least. thank god.#moot tag #sage/soda

i am beyond fascinated by the mental process that Nigel NileRed/NileBlue goes through for his videos

#wind howls #its like. mind boggling. how this man can make like. hot sauce from gloves. soda from paint thinner. cotton candy from cotton balls.#and he had never seen cookie dough ever before in his life before trying to synthethize a cookie.#its like. i dont know man at least in my case and in some people i know. they/i developped an interest for chemistry bc of cooking/baking #i dont see the other way around very often. it fascinates me #like how he was so stressed out watching One Singular Cookie Bake. and the fact that it cost him 5k to make and it sucked so bad 😭#that makes me a little sad but its also so funny. dude....#i didnt realize just how wildly different sciences baking and chemistry can be apparently ! i always thought of them as hand in hand #which i guess is also kinda the case. its all so amazing to me #all the same i hope mr nigel was able to eat some tastier cookies. metal and sage have the building blocks for interesting conflicts and dynamics if the writers just. do something with those. sage taking on a human appearance that metal cannot achieve due to his inherent role as sonic's foil, who both is and is not him. the restrictions he has compared to sage's freedom. artificial intelligence with the blessing to expand itself with no limitations VS machine tied to the whims of its creator, reliant on external tampering to become more than what it already is. sage offering metal a hand because she is fascinated, captivated, with the concept of "family" - would that not come across as condescending, or would metal take what he could get, even if it meant staying in the shadow of someone more "real" than him?

there is tension and potential for something venomous, and the stage is set for exploring what makes someone "real" enough for a familial relationship. there is space to explore aspects of eggman's thoughts on his creations, why he would bestow the role of a child upon sage so easily, if it's just a different type of familial relationship to the one he has with metal, etc. but someone has to have the guts to go there and i wonder if anyone does

#soda offers you a can #lore drabbles #metal could be angry about it and it could hit particularly hard when he's also not allowed to have a voice #sage could be forced to experience more Human Emotions as a result that suck real bad #from where we can further explore if this is what she wants after all. bc it would be so much easier to just be a Machine #and how about this more “standardized” familial relationship that eggman is given with sage? does it actually work? does he really like it?#or would it more so make him realize how alienated he is from this kind of normalcy #the family he is capable of having must consist of his own creations which are made of ones and zeroes and metals #it's easier that way. more familiar. there's less free will and he can always reprogram if he needs to. a sense of control #but sage steps beyond that and breaks all that is familiar and you could make that really interesting #ok i need to go do school shit now fuck
