Genshin Official Relationships and Status
Something to take note off in character relationships is what their "official and known" relationships are. So, I decided to try to make a chart of one with the playable cast and some extras.
This is a draft though. If you have criticisms and comments, absolutely please do leave them because I don't think my interpretations of these government systems are that accurate.
Anyways, here they are! The higher the placement, the higher the authority. Distance does not apply, and the legend is in each of the pictures.
Mondstadt: That's a lotta knights
They can be split between the Church and Knights, but the Church is still under the Grand Master as far as I know.
Power is surprisingly concentrated to 1/2 individuals only for a nation of freedom...Mond you gotta work on that...
Jean, Diluc, Kaeya, and Lisa are arranged the way they are in reference to the Klee summer event where they passed on who was looking after Mond.
Diluc still retains his high position because he has so many high credentials and connections (The Darknight Hero, Mond's richest man, high status in an intelligence network), despite being the Ex-Cavalry Captain.
Rosaria is an official recognized nun, but her vigilante works are by her own accord, hence the colors.
I am not sure whatsoever where Jean and Barbara's father, the Cardinal, should really be placed, or if he even still holds the position.
Poor Noelle does so much more Mond, but is lowest in status...please just make her a knight already T__T
Liyue: Zhongli and his powerful lesbians
I really am not sure if Ningguang is who Liyue's closest "leader", but that is how I felt during most of Liyues events
I'm assuming that the adepti now have a lesser status in Liyue because of the shift in power to the humans during the archon quest
How high Beidou's status is is, completely informal. She's right beside Ningguang because they do find each other to be equal competitors in their own way.
Those directly connected to Zhongli are those I assumed to have taken direct orders from him, hence why Beidou and Keqing are not included although they do respect him as their archon (Keqing in her own way)
I feel like I'm missing people here, compared to Mond, so uh, help me out here-
Inazuma: They just had a civil war...woops
I am reallyyy unsure how to label Sangonomiya island's status. Are they under the shogun? Are they their own separate territory?
Otherwise, Inazuma is pretty straightforward with its 3 factions and families
Sumeru: The whole government was just overthrown
Are there like, genuinely so sages right now, or replacement Grand Sage??? Nahida you need to do something asap-
Scara doesn't exactly have equal status to Alhaitham as Acting Grand Sage, but I felt it was more important to show that Scara is working directly under Nahida
Speaking of which, the title "shadow" is used because it's the same role that Ei served to Makoto, which I find poetic. If there is an official or better title tho, I'd love to hear it.
Hopefully, as time passes, there will be more representatives from the desert with high status. Poor Candace is carrying the desert's status on her back-
Should I have included the Corps of Thirty even if there are no playable characters...?
Fontaine: Fancy Schmancy Titles
I honestly reallyyyy wished that Neuv and Wrio were on equal standing, but in the eyes of Fontaine, that probably just isn't true.
Even so, absolute do not underestimate how important Wrio's role is in Fontaine's justice system, because without the Fortress functioning as it is, so much of Fontaine's justice would fall apart.
Despite Furina's death penalty and retirement, I still believe she deserves the title of archon with the highest status. No matter what happens, she is still Fontaine's idol and savior. (Besides, if she wanted/needed anything, Neuv would give it to her.)
How high Navia, Clorinde, and Chevy's statuses are in relation to each other in reality is...not explicit?
Really, Clorinde is just another employee under Fontaine's justice system, and isn't a head in anyway, while Chevy and Navia are actual leaders. But, Clorinde is the best Champion Duelist, so does that make them cancel out...?
Anyways that's all from me! It's pretty interesting to me just how much of the cast are part of their respective nation's government, which only makes sense given the kind of ruckus the traveler causes. Have a good day!

random omegaverse thought:
There must be people who experience specific instinct things with indifference or boredom.
Procreative cycle coming up? "Crap, I've got plans this weekend...stupid skip weeks."
Caught an intriguing scent while walking? "But I need to get to work! Shut up brain."
Had a snap response to a distressed sound? "Who was it?! ...right, it's my day off, I can go back to sleep."
Somebody growled at them? "Kid, I'm not a rival, that's my sibling."
Super cozy cuddle session happening nearby? "I'm gonna pass tonight guys, no social battery left, maybe next time."
Group of friends heading out to flirt and check out other singles? "I'm coming with you but only to make sure you all get home safe."
Setting where fated mates or soul bonds or permanent marks are a thing? "Meh. I don't really want one or care if I ever get one."
People in the actual omegaverse would get as bored of their stuff, as we do of ours, you know? It could be interesting to see that kind of vibe in fics. Biological demands faced with all the excitement of paying bills or doing laundry or tying your shoes.
Even if that kind of energy might not drive a plot, it could be interesting to have as a contrast to the people who do have big feelings about them - good or bad.
There's the friends who can't wait til they have a pack of their own, and the one friend who isn't against it but couldn't care less. There's the group in the office who are all about scent compatibility tests and figuring out one's best match and what sprays most highlight it, and the coworker who has no intentions on putting that much effort in. There are parents who hover and protect their offspring by scenting them multiple times a day, and others who don't see what the fuss is as long as it's done in the morning.
...also: packs with introverts who show care by giving each other space. So often, closeness is depicted through physical touch and tactile affection, but comfortable silence is meaningful too. Knowing people are near, but not having to interact until you're ready. Sitting in the same room doing different things, knowing that all it takes is a "hey, look at this" to share what you're up to. People understanding and accepting each other's differing or fluctuating needs for how and when to recharge. Seeing somebody reaching out or sharing space, beyond what's their norm, as a signal of the fact that they care.

Hmm... unpopular opinion. Or maybe just an opinion
Heathertail was wasted potential. Being the daughter of a leader, her friendship with Lionpaw, her brother is a villian, and shes very compassionate. It feels so strange seeing how her character just drops completely flat after Power of Three even though she has so much going for her.
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
HEATHERTAILS TREATMENT IS MY VILLAIN ORIGIN STORY FOR REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will never shut up about how poorly fanon and canon treated her and how some people called her abusive and uncomfortable for hating lionblaze after he beat her and tried to kill her mentor. “oooo what a shrill harpy” i will rob your house
i also dont like how shes just kinda reduced to “breezepelt’s wife”. breezeheather is cute and all, but shes got so much more going on than that. heathertail is someone who feels very strongly and yet will always set that aside to do the right thing. that scene everyone complains about is actually a great example: lionblaze is trespassing on her land and stealing medicine that could go to her clan. this guy beat her and tried to kill her mentor and then repeatedly stated he would try again in a war, over an assumption he could not confirm. she has every right to tell him to fuck himself sideways. but she doesnt, because she understands that this isnt about lionblaze, its about everyone suffering from the epidemic in thunderclan. so while she isnt friendly in the slightest, she still lets him have the herbs. because she doesnt let her own hangups get in the way of justice (btw this is why she shouldve been the one to sneak shadowclan the herbs in avos. i know her being onestars daughter wasnt hard canon but what a missed opportunity to do something there with her brother)
the thing with onestar and darktail being her family was a retcon but its something they couldve done something with and they just. didnt. cause shes breezepelts wife now so she cant have anything more i guess.
lionblaze basically mistreats her and then she falls off when he gets over that and it SUCKS man.

So my beloved good boy Agent Bravo has a mentor!
(rambling below)
And in the plot, the mentor instructs him how to be a good and efficient spy and they praise him and kind of manipulate him into thinking they're the only one to fully trust. That only they know and acknowledge how good an agent Bravo is. And they're the ones that actually tell the higher ups "Clifford is a good agent. I think he deserves a code name and his own missions" and then promptly suggests "Bravo" as a code name. Because every single time someone even SAYS Bravo it's like praising their efforts in making Clifford efficient. (aka the mentor is a scumbag!)
So before Bravo even gets involved with Rudyard and Katale, the mentor goes missing. The agency acknowledges the mentor was a good agent so they just.... decide they must have died on their mission. Time to move on. So while Bravo is coping by trying his best to be the best boy ever, his mentor is just. Gone off into hiding.
Fast forward to Bravo befriending Katale and Rudyard, finally feeling like he has FRIENDS.... and the mentor pops up again to thank Rudyard for the tip until he sees Bravo on the couch just relaxing. And they demand that Rudyard gives them their agent back "or I'll finish the slice on your face" which is ..... extremely not what Bravo expected to hear. And Rudyard doesn't seem very affected and Katale scoffs at the remark but neither one seem like they're going to put a threat out so Bravo tries to diffuse the situation.
Now that Katale and Rudyard have basically adopted Bravo as their son they're like "well we can't fucking kill the kid's mentor in front of him" so Rudyard just goes "wait no I got it". And goes and buys two spray bottles and gives one to Katale with free permission to use it as she sees fit. Which leads to the mentor getting spritzed after insulting Rudyard to Katale's face and she just grins maliciously and walks away. So the mentor keeps trying to get Bravo back as solely on their side and away from the crime boss duo but then they keep getting spray-bottled.
The mentor currently doesn't have a name or code name but Rud likes to acknowledge them as "the ghost" whenever they appear. Thanks for reading sorry it's so long o7

I got the “From the Fog” mod for Minecraft(the version that is just Herobrine’s bitchass).
Already spotted a sand pyramid out in the ocean.
Genuinely about to shit myself. Built a sorry excuse for a house and hid in it like the fucking coward I am (also with keep Inv on because I am a COWARD)
I don’t deal well with horror- I haven’t finished Amnesia: The Bunker yet after all.
The fact that this thing can only be set for a week at most is fucking funny. I’d need a bit longer than a week for more than like- two people to actually see it.

I don't think Jennette is Athy's foil. Their interests are somewhat opposed to each other, but Jennette is not dramatically different from Athy, nor does her character serve to highlight Athy's character.
A foil is a character that, from a narrative point of view, contrasts with another character (usually the protagonist), to highlight their qualities. The foil usually exhibits opposite or conflicting traits, and they serve to better reflect the other character's traits and motivations.
Claude, Lucas and in the manhwa Anastasius have ideas and values that are very different from Athy's, especially regarding family. However, Anastasius is clearly Claude's foil, and Claude is more of a deuteragonist than anything. I could kind of see him contrasting with Athy (because of reasons similar to Lucas', those being, how they chose to deal with their grief), but I think his role is to be Anastasius' opposite.
Lucas fits a little more. He has an extremely similar backstory to Athy's (rejected and neglected by his biological family, kept away from the main house, then abandoned by his teacher, he chooses to "go to sleep" instead of facing his depression). Because of his traumatic experiences, Lucas chooses to freeze his heart instead of risking getting hurt again, which is the opposite of what Athy ultimately decides to do: Accept that she loves Claude and considers him her father, get hurt over and over, but nevertheless try to build a healthy relationship with him based on honesty and trust. This is what changes Lucas, (metaphorically and kind of literally) melts his heart, and makes him fall in love with Athy. However, Lucas is never truly put in a position where he is opposed to Athy. On the contrary, he is the character that stays by her side unconditionally, helps her reach her goals and protects her. That's why his role is the love interest.
I have thought about this topic before, and I always concluded that Athy simply does not have a foil. However, while answering this ask, I realized that there's a much better candidate for that position: LP!Jennette is wmmap!Athy's foil.
They both wanted to be loved by their family, but while Athy wins Claude's heart (at first by acting but shhh) by the sincere feelings of love and the relationship they slowly develop over time, Jennette never truly wins Claude over, unbeknown to her. The thing that makes Claude "love" her is the manipulation of her black magic. Moreover, while both LP!Jennette and wmmap!Athy know that their own good situations hurt the other (LP!Athy, wmmap!Jennette), wmmap!Athy goes very far in trying to befriend Jennette and help her, which can't be said for LP!Jennette (to be clear, she was never actively cruel to LP!Athy, but she also never tried to help her). What reflects their contrast the best is that, both know or learn the truth of their parentage, but Athy ends up telling Jennette the truth. LP!Jennette stays quiet and acts as if she is ignorant (which, as she herself admits, further hurts LP!Athy), because she feels Claude owes her the family and good standing she has, as he killed her real father.
I think the fact that wmmap!Jennette explicitly tells Athy that, if she were in Athy's place, she wouldn't have done what Athy did (comfort her, reach out, and talk to her first), is the novel's acknowledgement of how differently LP!Jennette and wmmap!Athy acted. While both had innocent and understandable desires, and you could say both were selfish in their own ways, LP!Jennette always prioritized her interests over anyone's (this is another conversation, but she also knew Ijekiel didn't love her and was unhappy, but she still kept him as her fiancé because that was her desire), which is the opposite of that wmmap!Athy did. More extremely put: wmmap!Athy saves Jennette from being executed or punished in any way because of the black magic storm she caused at her 18th birthday party. LP!Jennette does not do that for LP!Athy when she is framed. LP!Athy is executed, the day of her 18th birthday.
