Having just watched Twister (yep, the old one, but I watched Twisters too, some weeks ago) my only thought is: My new backup plan if everything in my life goes wrong is to go chase Tornados.
It was such a fun movie. Twisters is too, both are really entertaining and I like how none of them drag the ""love triangles"". The action is 10/10, I loved every minute of both movies and I can't wait to watch twisters again either in the movie theater again or when it comes to streaming.

"There you are," Jonas muttered, his eyes narrowing as he spotted the brunette man. He circled around the van, locking his gaze on the figure leaning against it, a cigarette dangling from his lips. The man's short, wavy hair was slicked back. Bill, taller and stoic, stared off into the distance with evident irritation, his gaze fixed on the clear sky. When he finally acknowledged Jonas, he casually flicked the cigarette butt to the ground.
Of course he was there. Bill shuddered, having to hold back every urge in his body to jolt forward, grab the other man and shove him against the back of the van. 10 years had led them to this. He never called. He never wrote. He lied - he lied. The sight of the man so casually, without a care in the world, so close to him only fueled Bill's annoyance, making his throat feel tight and nauseous. What irked him even more was the unsettling familiarity of the other man's presence, unacknowledged of their history, their situation, all those years ago in the back of Bill’s truck, surrounded by damp Oklahoma summers stirring up memories he'd rather forget, causing his heart to race uncomfortably.
Jonas Miller - now Doctor Jonas Miller.
Jonas was gorgeous, and he hated how the other man still sent a shudder down his spine, just as he had when he first walked into the lab all those years ago. Young, handsome, smart, charismatic—a nerd at heart. Of course, Jonas was attractive. Exactly his type, or at least the type he never thought he had. Beautiful, smart, adventurous. The betrayal stung -The hours they spent together were filled with small brushes of fingers under the lab tables and kissing after hours. Their "study sessions" mostly consisted of the blonde man noting small changes in weather patterns over the prior months while sitting back on the plaid quilted single bed in his studio apartment. Bill, seated in the adjacent accent chair with a guitar, would take every chance to set the instrument down, join him on the bed, and kiss his lips until they could fall off. He would have taken him home for Christmas, shown him off to everyone he knew, but the necessity of security forced them to remain secret. Jonas. His Jonas. He had hardly changed though - still wearing that olive button up that Bill’s mom had given him in college, the dress shirt that he gave to Jonas all those years ago. Seeing him set him ablaze, cold rage coursing through his veins. It hurt then, and it hurt now—knowing all he did, never telling him he had returned to the States, and now with corporate sponsors backing him. He could picture him, nodding eagerly, sweet-talking his way into securing every corporate grant he could. He was smart, of course; he had to be for the field they were in. He just always thought they would be obtained together.
He couldn’t let him in again.
As bad as he wanted to.
“What the fuck do you want?” The man coughed, rolling his eyes as he reached into his pocket, lit another cigarette and took a drag.
"You know," he said with a cocky smile, joining the man pressed against the side of the van. "I have to admit, I wasn't expecting you to grab me like that. Part of me thought you had half a mind to swoop me up on the spot there.” The silence lingered, then Jonas continued on; “You were always good with your hands.”
Bill felt a shiver go down his spine.
“I didn’t realize you were back.”
Jonas blinked, watching the man’s posture stiffen.
“I didn’t realize I had to tell you.”
The two stood for a while. Bill scratched his chin, drowning in the awkwardness, the closeness they once felt creating a 6-layer wall. Though, he had to keep him there. Despite the awkwardness - he had to keep Jonas nearby. Talk to him, get some information maybe, get the closure he had spent a decade chasing.
Of course, there were things Jonas never knew. That Forecasting conference where Jonas's presence had stopped him in the halls—the reunion had felt like he was whole again.
Then, of course it fell apart. Late nights in the lab. All the times that Jonas and him had met at bars when he snuck out for late nights at “the office.” The tension hadn't come out of nowhere. No, It had years of history. Passion, research projects, late-night talks, that one airport drop-off that played through Bill’s head weekly, and hotel room “business trip” hookups to back them up. Jonas was half scientist, half business man though, he had the mind for it. Of course he went for it. Of course he got the longer stick. Of course he got sponsored. Of course he had money now. Of course he was more successful than Bill. He had it all. The charisma. The brilliance. The way he could sweet talk himself into any situation. Fuck, Fuck Jonas Miller.
Fuck. Jonas. Miller.
He hated it. The way that Jonas could make him ache seeing his face. The betrayal only added to his hard-on. It stung.
“Am I not allowed to talk to you now? Come on now.” Jonas callously taunted, and Bill couldn't only direct his annoyance.
Bill scoffed, taking a drag.  “I don't want to talk to you.”
Jonas laughed.
“That's not what you said a few years ago.”
Bill swung back, his entire body shaking as he stood back from the van, looking Jonas in the eyes. His face had matured, aged - his once-long, fluffy hair was cut shorter, hidden by a baseball cap. His lips though, his lips were the same. The place that was once his home.
Fuck. Jonas. Miller.
“You never called.”
Bill looked like a beaten dog, snarling, showing his teeth. Jonas avoided eye contact.
“You were married. How could I?”
The brunette man felt like he was drowning in quicksand, rage bubbling to the surface while his desire pulled him deeper into the ground.
“That wasn’t an issue before.”
Jonas shook his head, shrugging. “I grew some balls. I decided I didn't want to be someone’s plaything anymore.” The other man felt frozen. There it was again—the betrayal resurfacing, raw and painful.
“You—you never were that. You know that, Jonas.”
“I don’t.”
Bill spat on the ground, his frustration palpable. “I thought you wanted to talk.”
Jonas looked away, his voice quieter. “I do.”
They stood in tense silence, neither willing to meet the other's eyes.
“Then start talking. You know Dorothy was ours. You know it. I can’t believe your bullshit, Jonas. You’re full of it.”
Jonas finally looked up, his eyes locking with Bill's. There was a flicker of vulnerability in his gaze. “Sometimes, I really goddamn  miss you, William.”
Bill stomped into the ground, anger flowing to the surface, the desire to kiss the blonde man taking over his entire system.
“You miss me?”
“Maybe.”
Fuck.
With a swift move, Bill threw the cigarette to the ground and launched himself at Jonas, slamming him against the side of the car. Their breath mingled, and the blue in Jonas' eyes practically turned red as he smirked, far too cockily for Bill's liking. Then, the memories flooded in—the first kiss, the nights Bill faded off to sleep dreaming of an unrealized future together.
Jonas’s smirk fell, his mask slipping away. His expression turned desperate, starving—sad. Bill's grip remained tight, equally yearning, but the puppy-dog look on Jonas’s face turned his stomach upside down. Despite himself, he moved in and pressed a soft kiss on Jonas’s mouth. Their lips mingled, Jonas's breath shook, and Bill took in the familiar taste of the other man’s lips—carmex and Marlboro’s. He clearly still smoked. A habit he regretted getting him hooked on.
Bill leaned in, pressing his forehead against Jonas's, his hand gravitating to rub his cheek affectionately. His Jonas. His soft Jonas. The Jonas with his heart on a string like a cat batting at it’s toy, the man that could make his blood run cold. He needed him. They were doing this again. A tale as old as time. So, he pressed him into the van, excitement running through his system.
As Jonas reached for the door handle, he pulled back the van door and practically fell inside, but Bill swiftly slammed him against the floor and anxiously shut the door. Crawling towards the other, the brunette man toppled over the blonde doctor, letting out a hearty laugh as he leaned forward to place a wet kiss on Jonas' cheek, trailing down to his neck, leaving him aroused and shivering. Jonas panted, looking down at the familiar sight of Bill kissing him all over.
“I missed this.” “I missed you.”
Once he moved to his collarbones, he began unbuttoning Jonas's green dress shirt, the one that was once his. He couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t decide if he loved or hated that Jonas still wore it so casually—of course they ran into each other here. He’d stain it, he’d rip it; that’d be his payback. Jonas let out a gasp once Bill sucked into his skin, leaving a small bite mark, puffy and swollen.
Bill was pissed. More than pissed, and geared for a good fuck, one they could never do casually. Too much history. Too many feelings. Trailing a quick line of kisses down the man's stomach, he finally reached into the man’s jeans, gravitating his hand to his hard cock, nearly jumping out of his tight khakis.
“God, just like old times, huh?” Jonas cackled.
“Shut the fuck up.” Bill huffed, unzipping the man's jeans and pulling down his boxers to release his member. There it was, he hadn't changed a bit - that cute pink head, curved shaft and of course, well endowed. Bill couldn't help but worship him, choke on him, a small tradeoff for slamming him from behind.
“God, fuck, Will-” Jonas bit his bottom lip, feeling Bill's hot, cigarette stained breath against his wet head. With an upward glance, Bill furrowed his brows before dropping his mouth open.
“Shut the fuck up, Jonas, god.”
“You couldn’t make me if you tried.”
Jonas threw his head back, feeling the heat of Bill’s tongue circling the head of his cock, gripping his thigh as Bill deepthroated it with a sense of familiarity. Then, Bill looked up, taking Jonas's member out of his mouth to demand of the other man,
“Say my name, finish it.”
Jonas smiled.
“William.” He eagerly dove in, skillfully taking all of the other doctor's cock into his mouth, feeling it slide to the back of his throat. He hummed around it, eliciting a sickeningly pleasurable sensation for Jonas, akin to an endless roller coaster drop. Adrenaline bubbled within Jonas as he threw his head back with each slurp and lick from Bill. He knew he shouldn't, but he refused to let go before getting one last taste. Perhaps then he could release the anger, remember why he had trusted Bill in the first place, and why he loved him. Allow himself the grace of forgiving himself for falling so hard, still chasing the dream they both tried so hard to achieve.
Maybe this was the reason they both exerted so much effort. Perhaps this was the underlying drive behind their endeavors. It seemed inevitable that their paths would intersect again, as if some new brand of fate braided itself into their lives together, cruelly. Their shared history, the lingering echoes of their past, propelled them forward, each step bringing them closer to a long-awaited reunion.
With a muffled moan, Jonas bucked his hips, urging his cock deeper into the other man's mouth, feeling the electric sensation shooting up his spine as his head met the back of the man's tongue. Bill's hand gravitated from Jonas’s thighs to grip his hips so hard he could leave bruises, holding on as he bobbed his head back and forth, savoring the taste of salty pre-cum that hit his senses. He felt Jonas twitch in his mouth, each time he took him in, the feeling of his soft, uncut skin.
“You haven't changed,” Jonas moaned, his breath slightly stuttered, growing harder with each movement Bill made.
“Neither have you - God.” Bill muffled into the other man's member, opening his mouth so the mouthful of saliva could dribble down his chin. Their eyes locked in a heated exchange, each gaze conveying a depth of desire and longing.
With a fluid motion, Bill switched to his hand, leaning forward as he flicked his wrist to jerk Jonas in a slow, deliberate rhythm. Jonas squirmed in his grip as Bill leaned over him, twisting his hand to pleasure every inch of his length.
Bill whispered into Jonas’s ear, his voice husky with desire, “You remember what we used to do? You gonna be good for me?” The words hung in the air, laden with memories of their past encounters and the anticipation of what was to come.
Jonas smirked, biting his tongue as he pulled off the man’s jeans and laid back, blonde pubic hair shining in the light of the van window, skin glistening from his head to his backside.
“Of course.”
Bill resumed his ministrations, ducking his head lower and kissing his way down the shaft until he reached the other man's gorgeous pink hole, his breath hot against Jonas's skin.
“I fucking hate how much I missed this,” Jonas huffed, his voice laced with a mixture of desire and frustration. He reached out with both hands to grip the man’s hips, pulling him in closer, eager to feel more of his warmth and intimacy. With a hungry urgency, Bill buried his tongue in the blonde’s asshole, reveling in the familiar taste and texture, each movement sending a jolt of pleasure coursing through his body. “God, ah-” Jonas moaned as he felt Bill suck him, circling with his tongue.
Jonas writhed in pleasure, lost in the intoxicating sensations coursing through his body. Suddenly, he felt the pressure of the other man flipping him stomach-down, positioning him to face away. With a triumphant smile playing on his lips, Bill kissed his ass teasingly before lavishing attention on his hole, licking and sucking to open him up once more. The blonde gasped and whimpered small pleas of “please,” under his breath as Bill inserted two fingers, stretching him open, each movement sending waves of anticipation and desire through Jonas's body.
As Jonas jolted like a puppet on a string, Bill leaned forward to kiss his back, the sensation sending shivers down Jonas's spine. With practiced precision, Bill unzipped his fly and aligned his cock with Jonas's entrance, teasingly sliding the shaft in.
“I'm gonna fuck you from behind, take all of it,” Bill murmured, his voice low and husky with desire.
Jonas looked behind him, locking eyes with Bill, still lost in a haze of pleasure. “Fuck, do it already,” he pleaded, his hands reaching back to stretch himself for the other man, eager.
Bill aligned his cock with the man's entrance and rocked his hips, feeling the warmth as the other man's body welcomed him, reaching forward to put a hand over the man's mouth. No one could hear this. No one should hear this, even if his moans felt like music to his ears. He knew Jonas was loud to begin with, in and out of the bedroom. As he rammed into him harder, he leaned forward, kissing his back and shoulders in a mix of lust and affection.
Thrusting forward, he slid in slightly, then bottomed out, filling all of Jonas's entrance and causing him to gasp into the other man's hands. Placing one hand on his back and one on his happy trail, Bill found his rhythm, feeling the wet slick of Jonas’s cavities hugging his cock. Finding his steady motion, Bill rammed into him, feeling the way his ass welcomed him like no time had passed. Jonas continued to moan into his hand, backing up with each movement to fill all of him, to take him all. “Good boy,” Bill whispered, causing Jonas to squirm, reaching behind to feel the other man's still fully clothed, hot body. He was close, he hated how close he was, smelling the rubber floor of the van.
‘Gonna come. Want it inside you?” Bill gasped, feeling Jonas twitch in response. He didn’t want this to end, but his body refused to take it any slower.
“Anywhere, doctor,” Jonas replied, causing a frustrated moan to escape Bill's lips as he placed his hand on Jonas's cock. He positioned himself to finish inside Jonas, jerking him into his orgasm.
Using Jonas's wet asshole for friction, Bill found his climax, leaving his cum on the other man's back. He took in the triumph of making Jonas come so quickly, feeling the hot liquid flow out of his hand and onto the van floor.
Flipping over, Bill sighed, watching Jonas stretch, quickly reaching for his pants. Then, he dove back down, gathering the other man in his arms, pulling his head to his chest to take in the moment.
With a sigh, Jonas turned his head to look Bill in the eyes, forehead still stained with sweat.
With a smile, the man reached for his pants and pulled up his boxers, before letting out a familiar sentiment.
“I missed you.”

Will never regret Sunday, August 4.
And the first ever movie I watched since pandemic?
TWISTERS.
I got into Twisters fandom, basically. And makes me wanna play the soundtrack and theme music whenever I see US tornado warnings on social media. Just prepping to adapt to US culture.
And this was my SECOND Glen Powell movie after Top Gun Maverick!
I felt it. And I dream to help others chase these and help save MORE lives.
Tyler Owens, you have won my heart. And Bill Harding, be at rest.
(watched the late Bill Paxton on Agents of Shield and only now knew him from Twister 1996)
Ain't no love in Oklahoma indeed. - John

listen to me. listen. Was Twisters (2024) a perfect movie? No, not even close. Did I like it better than Twister (1996)? Fuck no. That movie was my Autistic Comfort Film. I watched that shit over and over again.
But let me tell you. Watching that in 4DX? Time of my fucking life. Thrown around like that fucking cow. Giggling and kicking my feet like a teen with a crush but the crush is all the fucking tornadoes. Nobody’s popcorn survived.
10/10 will never be able to watch the movie again unless it’s in 4DX again

Looking Ahead to 2024
With the new year finally here, I thought this would be a good time to list the films I am most excited about coming to theaters in 2024. So I present the films I am most excited about coming out this year (in alphabetical order):
Ballerina
Spinning out of the John Wick films comes this action thriller starring Ana de Armas that takes place between John Wick: Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.
Beetlejuice 2
Apparently, it took 36 years for someone to say his name three times because Beetlejuice is back! Tim Burton directs the sequel starring original stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara and joined by new addition Jenna Ortega.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
I'll be honest, I really liked Beverly Hills Cop III and am disappointed we never got to see the 2013 CBS pilot about Axel Foley's son. Count me in for the fourth film coming to Netflix this year.
Deadpool 3
The lone Marvel Studios film coming in 2024 is a continuation of the Fox Deadpool series. But with Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine, this one is one to watch.
Dune: Part Two
Return to Arrakis with director Denis Villeneuve for this adaptation of the second half of Frank Herbert’s Dune. Originally slated for a late 2023 release, it is finally coming this year.
The Fall Guy
Ryan Gosling is a stuntman turned investigator in this action comedy, based on a 1980s TV series, co-starring Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Anya Taylor-Joy is Furiosa in this origin story focused on Charlize Theron's character from Fury Road.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
The Splenger kids are back in this sequel to 2021's Afterlife (and the fourth film in the Ghostbusters series).
Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 and Chapter 2
While this may be two films, let's count it as one. Coming this year is Kevin Costner's epic Western Horizon. And don't forget, Costner has plans for four Horizon films.
IF
John Krasinski writes and directs this fantasy comedy starring Ryan Reynolds as a man who can see people's imaginary friends.
Joker: Folie a Deux
Joaquin Phoenix returns as the Joker is joined by Lady Gaga has Dr. Harleen Quinzel in this sequel to 2019's award-winning Joker.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
Guy Ritchie directs Henry Cavill in this action spy film about the British black ops during WWII.
Twisters
As a huge fan of 1996's Twister, I am ready for more. More twisters.
Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story
Is 2024 the year we finally see Jerry Seinfeld's film about the origins of Pop-Tarts for Netflix? I sure hope so.
Wolfs
Jon Watts writes and directs this psychological action-thriller starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
Honorable Mention (films not mentioned above): Argylle, Madame Web, Drive-Away Dolls, Road House, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Abigail, Civil War, Challengers, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Inside Out 2, Bad Boys 4, The Bikeriders, A Quiet Place: Day One, Project Artemis, Alien: Romulus, Kraven the Hunter, Venom 3, Alto Knights, Red One, Gladiator 2, Wicked: Part One, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Nosferatu.
Now for a quick look ahead to 2024, my top picks for that year are Avatar 3, The Batman - Part II, Captain America: Brave New World, Fantastic Four, Mission: Impossible 8, Superman: Legacy, and any of the above-mentioned films that get bumped to 2025.
Looking back at the 15 films on my Looking Ahead to 2023 list from last year: I saw 13 in theaters, one was bumped to 2024 and is included above, and one I didn't get a chance to see yet thanks to the flu. (sorry Wonka).

10 Ten Movies I Love:
I never do these, but I was tagged by @film-in-my-soul, so I gotta. They’re not in any particular order.
1. Atonement (2007)
Tumblr media
This movie absolutely wrecked me when I first watched it, and whenever I need a good cry, this is my go-to. I loved everything about it, the cinematography (that tracking shot on the beach was absolutely gorgeous), the acting, the romance, the story, the everything.
2. Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Tumblr media
The way this movie gripped me by the balls and still hasn't let go is telling. I've watched it an ungodly amount of times and it only came out last summer.
3. Arrival (2015)
Tumblr media
I immediately went back to the theater to rewatch this because it was just so gripping. I thought it was one of the freshest takes on aliens I'd seen in a while, and I loved the thriller aspect to it even though it wasn't scary. I loved the chemistry between the actors, and the story itself was so beautiful.
4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Tumblr media
This is the obvious one. It's got Steve. It's got Bucky. It's got Natasha. It's got Sam. It's a political thriller. It wasn't under pressure to adhere to the MCU bullcrap so it was actually excellent. What more could you want. (Oh, and it had the elevator scene).
5. Twister (1996)
Tumblr media
Yeah, it's campy, it's silly, but it remains such a comfort classic. I watch it pretty much yearly. I loved the soundtrack, I loved the exes-to-lovers, and I love the disaster.
7. Rogue One (2016)
Tumblr media
For some reason, every single time I watch this movie, I like it even more than the last. I find new things to enjoy and appreciate, and nothing can match K2SO.
8. Prince of Egypt (1998)
Tumblr media
I watch this yearly with my cousin, as per tradition demands. I may not care for religion itself, but goddammit if this isn't one of most beautiful films in existence. The fact that multiple leaders from various faiths were consulted to make sure it was as accurate as possible brings me so much joy. And the cast. And the music. To this day I still get chills from listening to the soundtrack.
9. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron (2002)
Tumblr media
Fuck it, I'm adding Spirit here too. It's my childhood. I love horses. Another one where the soundtrack brings me chills and to tears. The story is so hopeful and beautiful, and fucking Matt Damon is the narrator. Love it.
10. Titanic (1997)
Tumblr media
I'm basic. Sue me. As you can tell, I'm a sucker for music, and this one hits right in the feels.
There's so many more, it's hard to choose!
And now I gotta drag others into this, soooo tagging @renai-chan, @icemav86, @peppermintwhisp, and @scienceiswickedcool.

₊˚⊹ᰔ 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐭, 𝐜𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲
pairing: cowboy!rafe x farmer’s!daughter!reader
warnings: enemies to lovers (barely lol i’m just dramatic), implied age gap, flirty banter, sarcasm, angst, mentions of death, probably inaccurate descriptions of bad weather and tornadoes (i researched the best i could lol), forced proximity, sexual tension, smut, unprotected sex, hair pulling, creampie
summary: when an unexpected tornado makes landfall, you find yourself taking shelter with none other than rafe cameron himself. the problem? you two can’t leave until help arrives. with half of the town torn to shreds, and hundreds of people either missing, injured, or dead, who knows how long that can take?
word count: 2.8k
a/n: i watched the movie twister (1996) and instantly thought of this pairing. fic edit/moodboard

“yeah.. well i better get going then since you so kindly asked rafe to head on over here.” you rolled your eyes, twirling the ends of your hair as you held the telephone between your cheek and your shoulder. “sweetheart, i just don’t want you to be by yourself when that ugly storm hits, that’s all.” you hummed. as if on cue, a flash of lightning lit up the sky in the distance.
“i have to go, love you. tell auntie i miss her and i hope to tag along with you to see her next time.” you chirped, hanging up once your dad said; “will do. love ‘ya.”
it was raining cats and dogs by the time rafe showed up, his white t-shirt soaked all the way through. “you didn’t have to come, you know.” rafe’s hair was dripping wet, the water droplets running down his skin as he leaned against the doorframe. “yeah, i did. your father trusts me for a reason.” your eyes trailed down the column of his neck, an amused smile playing on his lips when he caught you staring.
“i don’t need you to be here with me.” you crossed your arms, your voice barely above a whisper. “i know that, m’just doing what your old man asked me to do.” rafe noticed you always had to clarify you could do something on your own before letting someone else take over, so he made sure to always acknowledge the fact in order for you to never feel less than. slowly, you moved to the side, allowing rafe to come in.
“would you have sent me back home in the rain like that?” he laughed, locking the door behind him. “i was thinking about it.” you looked back, your skin flushing once you realized how close he was. “don’t you think you should change into a pair of jeans or something? you never know if we’ll have to run outside to the storm cellar.” you looked down at your nightdress, and then back up at rafe who looked like he was fighting off inappropriate thoughts in his head.
“no, i don’t think so. i’m quite comfortable if you couldn’t tell.” you winked at him, laughing to yourself when you heard him curse under his breath. “alright.. well, i guess we could get comfortable until we hear something on the radio.” you settled in your little corner by the window, watching rafe as he changed the radio to the news station. his clothes were still wet, his skin glistening with the moisture.
deciding it would be rude to leave him like that, you snuck upstairs to your father’s room for an old pair of jeans and a flannel. “here.” you held the clothes up to him, “you could dry off in the bathroom.” rafe hesitated for a moment, ultimately deciding to accept your kind gesture. “alright. call me if you hear anything.” his fingers skimmed your own as he took the articles of clothing from you.
“and don’t sit by that window, either!” he shouted down the hall. you waved him off, taking a seat at the kitchen table while you stared outside. the storms during the summertime were extra vicious, the thunder being loud enough to rattle the walls. surprisingly, there hadn’t been any tornadoes yet, but that was something one couldn’t get comfortable with the idea of— the tornado siren is so delayed, you know a twister has already made landfall once it blares.
“just coming in, folks! we’ve received some phone calls reporting hail and get this!— a funnel cloud! start herding your animals indoors if you haven’t already, and stay home, there may or may not be debris flying in your area.”
“rafe, we have a funnel cloud!” you jumped up, turning the volume up on the radio. rafe ran out of the bathroom, his jeans hanging low on his hips. oh. “are the horses in their stalls?” he was shirtless, chest rising and falling as you nodded dismissively. “cows in the barn?” you hummed, tearing your eyes away from his v-line. “go get in the cellar, do you or your father need anything important before a tornado sweeps through here?”
you nodded frantically, catching the keys he tossed your way. “we both have emergency bags in our closets.” you grabbed your throw blanket, wrapping it around yourself before rafe yelled at you to go. slipping on your boots by the back door, you wasted no time, running out to the middle of the field where the cellar was. with the rain coming down so hard, and hail pounding the ground around you, you whimpered when you looked down and saw at least twenty keys on rafe’s key ring.
“what the fuck!” you whispered to yourself, scrambling to find the key that fit. “come, on!” you cried, pulling on the metal handles as hard as you could. rafe came running full speed, a ‘why aren’t you in, yet?!’ falling from his lips. “you give me a shitload of different keys and expect me to try each one?!” you shoved him, moving out of the way so he could open the wooden doors.
you looked down at the bags rafe bought, your heart dropping when you saw the wrong one. “wait— rafe, that’s not the right bag.” you panicked, looking back at the house. “yeah? well you had like three in your closet so i assumed it was the biggest one.” you shook your head, booking it towards the back door as rafe shouted after you. “hey- y/n, get back over here!” he chased you down, grabbing your wrists as you thrashed against him.
“i need that bag, rafe! it has the only thing i have left of my mom.” you cried, still trying to get out of his hold. rafe met your eyes, a knowing look passing over his face. “okay, i’ll grab it but i need you to go back to the cellar and keep trying those keys.” without another word, you nodded, going back and doing as he said. thankfully, the doors opened on the first try. you laughed, your joy short lived when you realized it suddenly stopped raining.
it was no longer windy, the air eerily still before you heard the haunting sound of the tornado siren. “rafe!” you screamed, “it’s here!” you jumped into the cellar, motioning for him to run faster. “move over!” you yelped when he launched himself inside, falling to the cement flooring with a groan. you were quick to close the doors, locking it shut with a heavy duty lock before you rushed over to check on rafe.
“are you okay?” you helped him up, the flannel he once wore now long gone. “yeah, yeah.” he nodded, wiping the sweat from his brow. rafe moved your hair out of your face before he checked you for any scrapes or bruises. “are you?” you muttered a ‘yes.’ as you backed away, your fingertips hot against his bare skin. “here. ‘didn’t know which one so i just grabbed all’em.” you sighed in relief, thanking him.
“it’s gonna be really bad, an EF-5.” a shiver went down your back at the revelation. the last EF-5 tornado that tore through your town was the same tornado that took your mother all those years ago. “oh, god..” you whispered to yourself, pacing back and forth as rafe dusted himself off. “don’t worry. we should be just fine in here.” he lit up a nearby lamp, the dim light flickering against the walls.
“are you cold?” he sat you down in the corner, wrapping his arms around you as he eyed the shelter doors. “you don’t have to do that..” you pulled away slightly, making rafe pinch the bridge of his nose in frustration. “would it really hurt you to accept some help, some comfort? we’re in the middle of a tornado for crying out loud.” you swallowed thickly, both of you jumping at the sound of a loud bang from outside.
the doors rocked against the metal frames, a scream leaving your lips when the doors flew off the hinges. “shit!” rafe shielded you, your eyes screwing shut at the whirlwind of debris falling into the cellar. you unintentionally clung onto him, your nails digging crescents into his flesh. “it’s okay, i got you.. i got you.” he whispered the last part, his voice making goosebumps rise across your skin.
you kept your head buried into his chest until the tornado passed. it wasn’t until it was dead silent that you pulled away from him, your awkward position making your cheeks heat. there you were, straddling his lap with both thighs on either sides of his hips with one of his hands cradling your head, and the other wrapped tightly around your waist. he was still holding onto you despite the storm being over.
“rafe?” you tapped his shoulder, “it’s gone.” you pulled away first, his arms falling to his sides as you gazed up at him. he stared at you for a moment. “right.” he cleared his throat, tapping your thigh as an indication to get up. you looked around, kicking the debris out of the way before gasping at the sight of the blocked cellar entrance. “well that’s great.” rafe walked over to the telephone on the wall, dialing for help.
“hello? uh, no— no injuries, s’just me and another woman down here at y/l/n’s ranch are trapped here inside a cellar. yes, i’m sure we’re stuck, ‘looks like a tractor tire just wedged itself inside. yes sir i understand, alright thank you.”
“what did they say?” you chewed your lip nervously. rafe scoffed. “we’re not their priority right now. they’ll send someone out here as soon as they can.” he sighed taking a seat on a nearby stool. picking up your bags, you placed them on the wooden table in the corner. “do you by any chance have a shirt in there?” you shook your head, laughing to yourself. “you could do without it.”
rafe smiled, tonguing his cheek as he stood up. “oh, really, you think so?” you felt the heat of his body behind you, the urge to back into him and feel him against you was overwhelmingly strong. “yeah.. it’s not like i don’t see you parading around here shirtless all the time.” you shrugged, opening the bag with your valued belongings. “so, you do watch me.” you froze, knowing he’s caught you in your own lie.
“cool it, cowboy.”
checking to see if the folded up photo of your mother was still in its small pocket, you smiled softly as you traced your fingers over her beautiful face. “would you like to see a picture of my mom?” at this, rafe stepped closer, his chin resting in the curve of your neck as you both inspected the image. “she’s beautiful,” he whispered, “you look just like her.” you sniffled, letting rafe run his finger tips up your arm.
“she died from the last EF-5 tornado that hit town. my father had gotten both of us to the cellar but she ran out last minute to get our family photo album..” you swallowed the lump in your throat, “and she just never made it back.” you shuddered. rafe rubbed circles into your skin, his breath tickling the side of your face. “did you find it? the photo album i mean.” you turned around, blinking up at his, very handsome, face.
“yes. it was just right outside the doors.” rafe took the picture out of your hand, placing it back in your bag before stroking your chin with his thumb. “you’re strong, you know that? sometimes a little too strong.” both of you huffed out a laugh. “i know you’re smart, i know you’re ambitious, i know you’re capable..” rafe’s hands rested on your hips, “but can you please just shut your brain off for one second and let me take care of you?”
you gasped when he hoisted you up onto the table, his lips finding yours before you could protest. he was eager, the weight of his body making you melt into his touch. you welcomed him between your thighs, your eyes fluttering shut as he started leaving kisses down your jaw to your chest. surrendering to rafe was so much easier than you liked to admit, his strong calloused hands roaming your body as if you’d disappear into thin air if he left any part of you untouched.
“i’ve wanted you for so long, you have no fuckin’ idea..” he grounded himself against your clothed cunt, his eyes snapping open at the sensation. “just look at you.” he marveled, your nightgown now pooled around your waist. “you’re so beautiful.” you kept your eyes on him as he backed away slightly, his fingertips hooking inside the waistband of your panties. “i don’t want to wait.” you were breathless when he ripped off the flimsy material.
“i’ll never make you wait.” he spread your thighs, his cock jumping at the sight of your pretty pussy. “holy.” he sucked in a breath, eyes darkening. “don’t stare at me like that!” you laughed, your cheeks flushing at his expression. you couldn’t help but attempt to shut your legs, suddenly feeling exposed as rafe’s jaw clenched. “don’t get shy on me, now.” he teased, running a thumb between your folds.
you bit your lip, eyebrows knitting together as he took himself out of his jeans. “feel what you do to me?” rafe grabbed your hand, wrapping it around his length. he was big. huge even. “please,” you whimpered, “i need you inside me.” embarrassingly enough, rafe felt like he could cum from those words alone. “i thought you’d never ask.” he winked, hovering above you as he tapped your swollen clit with the head of his cock.
jumping at his ministrations, both of you moaned as he entered you slowly, his mouth hanging open as he watched you greedily take him to the base. “oh, my fuck-” rafe’s head fell on your shoulder, your legs instinctively wrapping around his waist. you had never felt this full before, the intimacy of having rafe’s body on yours, his finger’s running through your hair as he whispered sweet nothings in your ear was enough to make your head spin.
hand finding the nape of his neck, you cried out when he grazed that soft spot inside of you. “shit- i’m sorry, did i hurt you baby?” you shook your head, using your other hand to cup one side of his face. “no— mhm fuck!” you clenched around him, “feels so good.” rafe groaned, pulling you into another kiss. “you’re taking me so fucking good.” he pulled up your nightdress, exposing your tits before taking a bud into his mouth.
“rafe!” you mewled, the sensation unfamiliar but so, so good. “wearing this short little thing.. you secretly wanted me to do this to you, huh?” he smacked your clit, making a squeal leave your lips. “yes!” tears were pricking at your eyes, the pleasure so intense and heavy in your tummy you couldn’t do anything else but make pathetic noises as he took you for all you had. nothing could possibly get better than this.. or so you thought.
bringing his hand down to your soaked cunt, your eyes widened as he started rubbing hard circles on your clit, your thighs shaking at the penetration. “oh, god!” your back arched off of the table, and into his chest, his skin warm and clammy against yours. rafe grabbed a fistful of your hair, pulling you up for you to watch the way he slammed into you. he was glistening with your slick, the wet squelch of your pussy echoing in the small space.
“rafe?” you looked up at him, both of you locking eyes. “cum inside me please.” rafe’s hips immediately stuttered, your orgasm washing over you as he cursed through gritted teeth. “those are dangerous words, darlin’.” he pulled you against his him as you shook and trembled in his arms, rafe’s seed spilling into you. a single tear drop fell down your cheek, the side of his face pressed against his skin.
“you’re perfect.” he kissed the crown of your head, both of you watching as he slowly pulled out. “fuck, i’ll never get tired of seeing this.” he pulled up his jeans, getting a change of clothes for you out of your bag. “who said you’ll see it again?” you arched a brow. rafe gave you a look, both of you smiling at each other. “here. i don’t want anyone else seeing you in this nightdress.” you quickly changed into the jeans and oversized t-shirt he gave you.
“i hope help comes soon.. i just want to see if our house is still standing.” rafe hugged you, sitting you down near the table. “our house?” he loved the way that sounded. “yeah.”

Got this out of the $5USD bin at Walmart.
Tumblr media
Brand fucking new copy of the 1996 film Twister. It's been one of my favorite movies since childhood and no matter how many times I watch it just never gets old. If you've never seen this movie then I CANNOT recommend it enough. Like this is what put disaster films on the fucking map.
And it was only five fucking dollars. I get to keep it. Forever. I don't have to worry about it being deleted or censored or whatever. Cause it's MINE. I can even resell it if I want to.
It also has behind the scene features that include a documentary on tornadoes, bonus material, and a music video. And I'm mentioning those things because I feel like no one ever mentions the special features except for like HUGE LtoR nerds. To be fair, though, can you even call yourself a Tolkien fan if you haven't watched the extended cut with directors' commentary? That's sarcasm, obviously, but if you haven't and you love Tolkien you should really get on that.
I don't know. I feel like such a nerd in a good way. Like if someone calls me a nerd, I take that as a fucking compliment cause when you're a nerd girl you have to fucking work to achieve that status. There's so much fucking gatekeeping and misogyny and infighting. So when a guy calls you -- a woman or an enby a nerd -- as a derogatory that means you've fucking made it. You have been awarded an official Nerd Card™️.
But like if you guys are just getting into buying or collecting DVDs and Blu-ray, my advice to you is search the $5USD bins at Walmart for your favorites. Take those home and experience it for yourself.
Then revel in the fact that YOU NOW OWN THE MOVIE.
No one can take it from you. EVER.

(Fake ASMR Commission) Your Meteorologist Wife Talks About Tornadoes
_______________________________________________
“The Suck Zone… It’s the point… Basically at which the twister… Sucks you up.” *she says to herself quietly as she quotes the movie that she’s watching*
“Oh, hi honey. Windy day out there. Seriously, it’s really blowing today."
“Yeah, I’m watching Twister again… For the 100th time.”
“It’s not my fault that it’s so good. It’s literally my favorite movie of all time. It was my inspiration for becoming a meteorologist in the first place.”
“Sure, it’s got some of that 1990s cheesiness & there are some factual inaccuracies, but… The vast majority of the movie is so good that it’s easy to ignore what few flaws it has. It’s so fun.”
“Oh yeah. The last action scene is super unrealistic. You can’t outrun a tornado. Let alone an F5 with 300 mile-per-hour winds. That’s ridiculous. There was a point where Bill & Jo were literally standing right next to it & they weren’t getting blown away. They only survived because they’re the main characters & have plot armor.”
“I’m unbothered though. It’s so thrilling that I can ignore how silly it looks. Suspension of disbelief, ya know?”
“The story is great, the characters have rich personalities, the practical effects & CGI hold up well even today… For a movie released in 1996, it was way ahead of it’s time. It really feels like a movie that was made with a lot of passion.”
“There’s so much tornado action to. This movie barely goes 10 minutes without one being on screen. It’s so engaging.”
“And the soundtrack is incredible as well. It has music like ‘Humans Being’ & ‘Respect the Wind’ by Van Halen which just send chills down my spine. I can’t get enough of it.”
“Of course I’m looking forward to the sequel. I just hope they don’t screw it up. You never know with the modern movie industry. It could totally flop if mishandled. Though the trailer does look very promising.”
“It’s a shame that it won’t have Bill Paxton. He’s been dead for a while now. May The Extreme rest in peace.”
“There was something really sweet that happened after his death. A bunch of storm chasers aligned their vehicles to spell ‘BP’ on satellite radar. It was awesome!”
“Part of my fascination with tornadoes & just… Weather in general… Was growing up in the Northeast US. We don’t really get tornadoes in the mountains. Not enough flat land or a sufficient amount of hot & cold air mixing. I was always intrigued & curious about the weather in other regions.”
“Well yeah. It’s possible to get tornadoes in every state, but some are clearly more prone than others. Even Alaska of all places has received a few tornadoes, but they were all categorized as F0s & didn’t last long at all.”
“If you really want tornadoes, the Midwest is where it’s at. Especially Kansas & Oklahoma.”
“I don’t mind living in Tornado Alley. When I was old enough to travel alone, I willingly chose to move out here. And it’s a good thing I did because I would’ve never met you otherwise. Hehe~”
“Hun, you’re worth enduring every tornado we get graced by. Don’t you worry one bit. In fact… If you were a tornado, you’d be an F6.”
“Hehe~ I do know my Fujita Scale. It’s an intrinsic part of meteorology.”
“I’m also grateful for my Storm Chasing team. They’re super cool people. We’re a good-spirited, high-energy group of weather enthusiasts who love documenting tornadoes. We don’t fear the storm. We eagerly charge towards it.”
“Of course it’s dangerous. When you’re a Storm Chaser, you have to know the risks. Many people have died doing this job. But it’s usually due to recklessness. If you’re smart & play it safe, you’ll probably be fine.”
“Well… No. Nothing is guaranteed. We may be able to predict the weather, but there’s enough randomness to the point where we can never be entirely sure. If a tornado changes it’s course & heads right for you… You better take action immediately… And hope you’re not in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
“It isn’t exactly rocket science to figure out how a tornado can kill you. There’s a few ways.”
“The most obvious way is getting sucked up into the vortex. You’ll simply get thrown really high into the air & hit the ground too hard when you fall. You’d need to be incredibly lucky & land on something soft in order to survive.”
“The second way is getting hit by debris. If a huge piece of infrastructure hits you at high speed, I doubt your soft, squishy human body would be able to take it.”
“And the last way is… Hindered breathing ability. Depending on the wind speed, it’ll either be really difficult or impossible to breathe in a tornado.”
“Yeah, now you understand why Bill & Jo wouldn’t have realistically survived the F5 at the end of the movie. Even though they were strapped down to those pipes, the tornado would’ve most likely killed them in a different way. But you know… Plot armor.”
“Speaking of F5s, did you know that the biggest one ever documented was the El Reno tornado of May 31st 2013?”
“This thing was a monster! To this day, it’s the largest tornado ever recorded at a jaw-dropping 2.6 miles wide. Even the F5 tornado in Twister wasn’t that big. It was only 1 mile wide.”
“Biggest doesn’t necessarily mean Strongest. It was certainly extremely powerful… But there have been worse.”
“Sometimes, it’s hard to determine exactly what makes a tornado noteworthy. Do you judge it’s overall strength & wind speed? Do you judge it by the damage it does & the number of people it kills? It’s not always crystal clear, but there are at least three contenders for the… ‘Worst’ …Tornado in history.”
"The first one is the Joplin Missouri tornado which happened on May 22nd, 2011. It damaged nearly 8,000 buildings... And of those... Over 4,000 were completely destroyed. The damage... Which included major facilities like one of Joplin's two hospitals as well as much of its basic infrastructure... Amounted to a grand total of $2.8 billion making it the single costliest tornado in U.S. history."
“The second one is the Daulatpur-Saturia tornado in Bangladesh which happened on April 26th, 1989. It killed approximately 1,300 people. That’s a horrific number of lives lost to just one tornado. It’s the stuff of nightmares.”
“And the third one is the Tri-State Tornado which happened on March 18th, 1925. It tore across Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Southwest Indiana. With its rapid movement, monstrous size, and long track, it took hundreds of lives and injured thousands.”
“No matter which way you look at them, these tornadoes were downright demonic & nothing has compared since. Even the El Reno tornado didn’t take nearly as many lives despite being bigger. Size clearly isn’t everything.” ... "There are many other historic tornadoes that are remembered today. These ones just stick out in my mind the most. If I don't stop myself, you'll hear me talk about tornadoes for the rest of the day.
*sound of strong winds blowing outside the house. so like… muffled, but still noticeable basically.*
“Wow, the wind is really picking up out there. And the sky is packed with dark clouds.”
“I’ve been talking about tornadoes so much, I didn’t even consider that we might get one today. The weather is ripe for it.”
*sound of emergency alert system plays on their television. maybe like 3 beeps. it doesn’t need to be a lot.*
“Oh? Is my suspicion correct perhaps?”
“YES! There’s a tornado on the ground in our county right now! You know what that means. It’s chasin’ time!”
“Of course you can tag along. No one ever said you had to be an official part of the team. Guests are always welcome. To be honest, I’m surprised you didn’t ask sooner.”
“I’ll grab my equipment. Put on something decent, alright? It’s gonna be crazy out there.”

10 Facts About Ari
Wanted todo something like this for a while now, so might as well do it now :3
1) I live in the United States, specifically the North-West part of it though I have been looking to move to Canada for a while now.
2) I’m married! I got married in 2019 to an absolutely amazing person who I’ve been dating since 2013! He is fantastic and easily my best friend. I wouldn’t be half of the person I am today without him.
3) I’m legally deaf, nearly legally blind in my left eye, and use a cane to walk around! These as well as a few other health issues have made having a physical job difficult so I spend 18+ hours a day writing and coming up with ideas for Fanfiction as well as my original story. I’m also Dyslexic so that’s fun :3 (not really)
4) I have an allergy to Ginger and Cinnamon, weird right? Just developed it randomly at the end of 2020. Which sucks because Cinnamon is my absolute favorite spice.
5) My favorite movie of all time is Twister from 1996 and I watch it more than is probably healthy considering that the very idea of a tornado keeps me up at night x’D
6) I have 4 pets (though 6 live here with me). Baby Jade is a 6 going on 7 year old Ragdoll/Siamese, Lady Maria (aka Carpet Muncher/Circus Freak) is a 3 going on 4 year old Calico, Indiana Jones (Indi for short) is a 1 year old Australian Shepherd, and Salem is a 5 month old black cat. The other two dogs belong to my sister and are both Poodle mixes; A Golden-Doodle and a Aussie-Doodle name Win and Scout. The only male animal in our house is Salem, the rest are ladies.
7) My favorite color is Teal or Black :D (I’m always wearing black though)
8) My biggest fear is easily the Dentist but Heights is also up there.
9) The thing that inspired me to start writing was the book series Maximum Ride. I have read the first one over 100 times (not even kidding, I started reading it in 3rd grade and I still read it to this day, I’m now 26).
10) I have been writing since 3rd grade and never really stopped. It even got to the point where when my teacher realized that I was hopeless at Math he just told me to “Work on what you’re good at and like to do, because trying to force yourself to do something you hate and don’t understand will just make you miserable in life.”
Anyways, this was fun and just something that I just wanted to do. But I’m always willing to answer any questions anybody has. I don’t bite, I promise. :3
