Gwendolyn was absolutely listening in when Percy gave Fearne and Mister a gun lmao

I think we as a fandom need to consider the idea of ‘Calvin and Hobbes but it’s Gwen and her owlbear teddy’ more. Redrew parts of this og comic by Bill Waterson but with the de Rolos

I’m such a person who doesn’t care about blood relations that any time a storyline focuses on a character grappling with the realization that one of their relatives was evil and worrying that they’ll go down the same path it SUPER doesn’t resonate.
“The sins of the father will be passed down to his children” Skill issue. If I’ve got a problem with your shitty dad, I’m taking it up with your shitty dad.

this will probably be disproven across episodes but I have the Gwen brainrot so indulge me.
I know a lot of people hope that Elias is out walking around happy and high, but see the Magnus institute burned down in 1999. Jonah took Elias in 1996.
So don't imagine Gwendolyn coming 'home' after a few years studying on daddy's money, daddy's name and daddy's contempt that his youngest daughter seems perfectly fine with ignoring what is expected from a Bouchard.
Don't imagine Gwen running into her brother one night after he himself hasn't been in their family house for weeks. And realising the thing in front of her isn't Elias.
The stone cold sober, easy smiling man with impeccable posture is not the man who taught her how to play their parents to secure a peaceful life and a place in the will at the same time.
The eyes looking back at her never winked at her from across the dinner table, never shed tears of rage at the golden chains around both of them, never looked at her at her lowest and told her everything would be okay one day. Because those eyes do not belong to Elias.
'A promotion' it tells her, with the same pride Elias used to talk about a student strike that would absolutely wreck their name if it were printed on papers, but this thing wouldn't do that because this thing is. Not. Her. Brother. But she's almost as good at acting as it is, so she plays along. 'Head of the Magnus Institute'.
And Gwen knows very little of the Magnus institute. But she knows enough about Elias Bouchard. She knows about Allan and the eyeless thing that got to him, tale whispered in a panic on the night she first saw her brother as a child instead of a role model. She knows about the letter that arrived unprompted. She knows the stories of what goes on inside the too old building.
And she knows how easy it is to get her hands on gasoline for the bits of it that aren't already flammable.
When she's called in as his emergency contact, she feigns shock at the fire, throws the bone that 'the idiot couldn't even keep his fucking lighter straight' between tears.
She throws the ashes off a foggy cliff onto the sea and attends the empty casket funeral with the same expression she learns to carry from that day on. And after years of clipped conversation, she does what she promised Elias to never do.
'Get me in.' She tells her father. And his smile of relief at 'still having a worthy heir' on the day of his son's funeral sickens her. But she keeps the same expression.
Because she may have killed the thing that took Elias. But the OIAR is the place that can tell her what she killed exactly.
And she won't make her brother's mistakes.

the reckless, the wild youth (WIP)
(since eda and raine's backstory is so different in this AU, i'm pondering a comic about the two of them and just how and why it went so wrong) (infodump.... ramble?? ig down there + design notes on how my progress is going with this project)
Seb's design notes: anyways i've been dancing with the idea of making canis caninam's witches more animalistic. because yeah im just having fun at this point. bonus, sphynx / owl beast design. i'm not a big fan of her canon design, and it's not because i think she's scary.
my current inspo for the witch faces is a mix of good ol' na'vi 3d models, deerchip's s work (they're on twitter!!) and olya bossak's anthropomorphic portraits!! i didn't just want them to be elves who purr, tbh... though more and more as i post this i'm kind of hoping to get harrassed off the fandom for my weird ideas and "forced" to make this into an original story.
ramble on story derived from conversation with Bow (idea beta tester, victim of the circumstances of my hyperfixation, beautiful white hetero man who got here by accident). IT'S A ROUGH, UNEDITED DRAFT. PARTS OF IT ARE DIRECTLY FROM A CONVERSATION. IT'S ROUGH. Eda is born to the Clawthorne family - daughter of Gwendolyn, a healer, and Dell, a toy maker who married into her clan as to escape the hardships of living outside the barrier, amidst bestial demons... and probably something else, smart enough to scare him into hiding, though that usually goes unsaid. She is one of a pair of twins, and, for the first fourteen suns, eleven moons and twenty-nine sundowns of their lives they are inseparable.
It's their fifteenth birthday when Dell gives them an old grimmoire that has been in his family for centuries. Some of its words have been altered with the years, rewritten and repaired by generations, their meaning lost - symbols re-drawn from memory with each unfortunate accident.
Lilith partakes in that tradition - having to repair a page of a long-winded wild-spell meant to be cast by a powerful warlock, after she spills some tea on it.
that night, the two set out to camp with a group of their friends -hyacinth, a selk nobleman who, despite his young age, served under belos as his huntsmaid and personal cook, and his apprentice, darius, a prodigy who'd already been branded for a coven, and who'd been personally selected by belos to be a companion for the golden-haired boy who'd earned his favor.
and, of course, trailing slightly behind, raine whispers. their glasses are foggy and they already smell like the alcohol they brought to the party.
nobody leaves the outermost wall to camp these days, of course, so the bunch of them settle in an abandoned park, before doing as teenagers do when provided alcohol, and getting plastered.
at some point, eda, raine and hyacinth get into an argument of some kind - one that results in eda opening the grimmoire she brought along, and going along with the plan she'd nearly abandoned: using her rudimentary knowledge of the old tongue the tome was written in, she makes a circle out of salt around herself, and reads the spell.
its words are all wrong. whatever she summons she angers, and, at first, nothing happens.
then, as she and raine lay together on her hammock the afternoon after the party and the tiny backyard camping "trip", eda falls ill.
it was fever and it was vomiting. then the lining of her stomach, then her gums and her teeth and her tongue. her skin sagged and it was like she was all liquid inside it.
raine slept by her bedside, singing to calm her down whenever she awoke. lilith laid in the old manor's basement, endlessly brewing potion after potion to try and quell the pain that refused to ebb away.
darius and hyacinth did not go to belos - instead they were stopped at the door by the clawthorne patriarch, and with his help, took a griffin out of the city, found an old thing. it called itself queen of bats, and it was made of wood, and it knew dell very well.
the three give her the griffin, and spend four sunsets and three sunrises walking back with their prize - it's a living tether, a wooden owl dell had made as a toy for his daughter when she was very young. filled with the griffin's soul, it was given by its enchantress the mission of tethering its holder.
they arrive to a burning house. darius and dell don't speak of it, but the only time they both see the emperor is when they deliver his selk concubine's mutilated carcass at the throne room, laid at his feet like an offering.
dell lost one eye to his daughter, the other eye and both hands to the emperor.
raine was gone to everyone except the thing that eda had become, a sphynx that spared their life for the price of their song. they land atop a rocky cliffface, a few miles away from the outer border of the bonesborough wall - soon, something finds them.
the owl her father had carved for her followed eda, and raine became sure, at that moment, that she wasn't lost.
lilith and darius compensated for hyacinth's loss, sitting for years at the foot of the throne as the emperor's guards, until belos found it fit to entrust them both to make for him a new selkie servant - they took hyacinth's old heart, a blue stone that ebbed and flowed, and they took the lungs of a dragon, the innards of a maiden, and all the blood they could get from a seal-devil, along with a tiny fragment of bone that had been strapped to hyacinth's old heart.
they spend day and night putting him together - the rough face of clay mixed with blood, the organs gracefully gifted, the bone.
they bury the sculpture. a boy digs himself out of the dirt while they sleep in the temple, curled up together in a mess of ratty old sheets they'd found.
they name him hunter because he was more demon than boy, but had hyacinth's face, and, though something seemed very wrong, he had somehow killed and dragged in a rat to eat by their side during the time they'd spent asleep.
belos allows the name to stay, and grants them both titles and robes of white, and allows them to mary whomever they wish.
lilith secludes herself to a temple and studies every grimmoire she can, and darius takes on apprentice after apprentice, teaching them how to pull the throat strings of a bard out, and how to best slay a sphynx.
hunter looks just like hyacinth, and, despite how strongly he'd imprinted on his makers, they both hate him from just the look in his eyes.
lilith finds the portraits of every other selk concubine, every other golden guard.
it's always hyacinth's face. meanwhile, raine managed to unearth eda - partially.
they bind her to them, and she remembers very little, but she is undeniably herself, and despite the tragedy of her body, or maybe because of it, she seeks to cause chaos. she embraces the life of a wildling, and raine follows in her stead.
a year passes. then two. three, maybe. probably more, considering everything that comes after. what really matters is that, as raine grows more frantic in their search for something that can help her, occasionally coming in contact with the fragmented clawthorne family's matriarch (before finding her treatments too harsh), all in search for a way to stabilize eda's mind and body...
she accepts that fate she was given.
the system of castes and castings and divisions becomes pointless to her, and she eagerly, easily pushes raine to rebellion by her side. the wards around the walls have nothing against her - usually, griffins and dragons don't fly that high.
raine found gwen's attempts to heal her daughter too much - but at some point, more than a decade after the two set out together, a night after raine settles a chain with a golden ring around her massive paw's wrist, they catch wind, through that shared palisman of theirs, that raine's mother has passed.
they leave eda to sleep atop the church, tail around its tower, and enter it to pray.
they meet someone - a who who dances on the edge of being a what - and, in their grief, bear to her their heart, and are offered a deal in return.
all they want in life, for a price, their mind.
eda wakes up, a moon later, transformed, and with every memory made vague, erased except for vague outlines.
naked but for a wedding ring around her neck, in a dark, low chunk of the city, with the body of a beast, she's seen as exotic enough to work the night for a couple years, as she catches up on a life she lost, and takes the name of a harpy, not knowing she's a clawthorne.
… clawthorne health clinic seems so familiar of a name, though. she jots down their contacts. attends every speech given by darius deammonne, head of the carnomantis force, and often borrows from the library books on forbidden magic written or translated by one lilith clawthorne.
it's not familiar.
she feels like it should be, though. so she digs into it all - never takes the name of clawthorne, but as her social standing falls and she teeters ever closer to living outside the walls, the people around her take to calling her the owl-lady.
she eventually takes to stealing from old homes - the abandoned sort, full of hobs and rats and hexes she can easily bypass, with magic as strong (as well-trained, despite the lack of any memory of schooling) as hers.
there's a farm-house, though, mostly burnt, long ago vacated, that feels very familiar when she enters. she tears up despite not remembering her, when she recognizes her twin's face beside her own in a portrait. in the rubble of a bedroom, a large woven hammock still has an old violin sitting broken on top of its torn fabric.
inside its case, the thing she knows she gave up her memories - or maybe something more - for, sits waiting and patient.
... a key to the human realm. she knows a lot about it, and remembers an unbound fascination.
(her one visit goes very wrong, of course - but she can spy through her palisman's little eye, so it's worth it. it's all worth it.)
meanwhile, raine wakes up, married to a woman whose face is foggy to them, with three apprentices who don't know their name but promise they've been there under them for weeks.
whomever wiped their mind didn't bother to take the human-styled wedding ring off their finger.

sometimes, I just think about Lilith Clawthorne being a canonically aroace and disabled character, for whom moving back in with her parents is not only not treated as shameful, but in fact a huge victory for her, and one of the biggest positive turning points in her character arc.
like, disabled people are chronically shamed and outcast for not being independent. a-spec people who don't want to live with a partner are judged for not being the "right" kind of independent (read: not perpetuating conventional family structures).
the fact that Lilith is allowed to say "I need support from people close to me right now," and also, "I'm not interested in involving a romantic partner in my support structure, ever," and have the fact that Lilith gets what she wants — support from her family, and her mother in particular — be framed as a good thing?
specifically, that when Gwendolyn invites her to make up for lost time, it's framed as a wrong being righted for Lilith? that it leads to her being happier, and finding a job that she does because she actually genuinely enjoys it? that's truly so, so important. Lilith Clawthorne is such a good character.

Ismatu Gwendolyn said this on a live and it stuck with me so I want to ask y'all something.
Cuz it's important in all the discourse and yelling to remember that you're not getting so caught up in rage-bait and fighting that the fight itself has more of your attention than liberation. It's just as important to be capable of imagining a future as much as destruction.
So the question is:
What do you fight for; what are some of the things you would do if you were free?
I'd breathe clean air.
I'd drink natural and clean water from my my tap.
I'd live in one of the millions of currently empty houses and my power would come from whatever resource my native land stewards had decided was best. My kid would learn from their teachings some days, some spent at home just learning how to be a person (cooking, cleaning, etc), and some days she'd go attend a school that's taken her neurodivegence & health into account when making her personal learning plan. Her teachers are experienced in social studies and local history, others in CRT or emotional intelligence/mindfulness, although her fav teachers are definitely her music tutor and her queer history teacher cuz she really likes all the flags.
My gf is off doing whatever she wants to do to uphold her role to the earth and her community and I'm taken care of while she does. Maybe by student nurses (since I'm not high needs) who want to be nurses and actually care about me. I know this because they don't Need this job to feed their families or for any other reason.
Our community feeds them because they want to in the same way those nurses take care of me because they want to and I take care of my daughter because I want to and she takes care of the local stray animals because she wants to.
We take care of each other because we take care of each other and we want each other to keep doing that and it's in everyone's best interest that everyone is happy and fed and supported and housed and treated fairly.
Nobody is forced to anything for blood money. So blood money doesn't exist anymore.
I can order a drink and I don't have to go home to Google whether or not I took part in genocide because there are no systems that allow for it to happen and nobody is oppressed or scared enough to feel forced into enacting/justifying one anyway. There is no military industrial complex.
And yeah, maybe some people don't work but it's fine because everyone always has enough. There is no faux rage about societal leeches.
They're just people who enjoy existing. People doing the thing all of us have been fighting for them to do and so nobody is bitter about it. We're beyond that. We're glad to see our kids and grandkids have easier lives than us. Just like they're glad to have so much to learn from their elders.
And when I wake up in the mornings? I have never felt more rested in my life.
Godddd imagine the sleep with a life like that. Like that alone would change my life 😩
P.s: And nobody would've assumed the teachers or anyone else in my story were cishet or white people either, amen

The Owl House Family Tree
Behold, the family of the Owl House mixed with my headcanons that I made because I felt like it, and gosh is it crazy. Explanation under the cut lol
Tumblr media
The Grimwalkers (and Hunter who's a grimwalker) were created by Philip, essentially being his children, but Philip created them using Caleb's DNA and modeled them in his image. So yeah, they pretty much are both parents of Grimwalkers as they're not perfect clones of Caleb and it's fucked up in plenty of ways
Since both Gwen and Dell are theorized to be descendants of Clawthorne with how Gwendolyn follows the mold of Clawthorne women with her looks, power, and name. Still, then there's Dell who has an uncanny resemblance to Philip and Caleb, along with being the best wood-carver in the wood-carving family, so it's not clear who's the Clawthorne and who was married to Clawthornes, I went a different route. I made Gwendolyn a very very distant descendant of Clawthorne's ancestor (16 generations and possibly even more), whereas Dell is the descendant of Caleb as a compromise.
Lilith and Hooty are in QPR.
I included Hooty's mom along with possible ancestors and used the tapeworm in Titan's eye as a point of reference.
The BATTs are adopted children of Raine and Eda's co-parent to them. She however adopted the Collector, King, and Luz individually, even though Raine also would co-parent them to an extent. Granted Eda was called "mama Eda" by Amber, whereas Luz, King, and the Collector never referred to Raine as their parent.
Raine and Eda are neither dating nor married, but a secret third thing. And the same applies to Darius and Alador
Camila and Perry Porter (Gus's dad) are in QPR as well.
Professor Hermonculus is Amity's grandparent because yes xD
Eberwolf and Darius are "like brothers" but they aren't officially brothers by either blood or adoption, or they're necessarily in QPR. They're just bros.
Darius had a failed relationship that resulted in Gavin (that abomination Glandus kid). That's rather a leftover theory with plenty of story-telling potential that came back from season 2A days when we knew nothing about Darius and were looking for some connections. The picture of the mom came from the old photo from Reaching Out.
Tumblr media
Gavin is dating Cat (Amity's former friend, she set them up).
There was a funny theory that once I heard about Mason being dad of Willow's dad and I decided to go along with it because A) I find it funny, especially since the point of connection is how alike they look, and B) explains where Willow got her green eyes from.
Mason is a grandparent of Matt and Steve, as I figured he's too old to maybe be just their dad IMO, but he could still be. It's also an old and forgotten theory from times of TOH S2B when Steve got revealed to be Matt's step-brother (meaning they share one parent and have 2 different parents of their own) and there were storyboards of ASIAS that revealed there was a storyline with Mason and Tholomules, granted as I said, it was forgotten so I can't say it's really valid.
Steve and Katya are dating. @secretly-of-course here is your Stevatya mention.
Any other questions? The ones that aren't asking who is who, unless it is a really obscure character then let me know.

jaune is spiderman au) in which jaune is everyone's favorite webslinger, going by the name Huntsman (after the huntsman spider) downside he lacks the tech other spidermen have, upside he's already got tons of superstength and durability before he unlocks his aura! however his story is a little different than most spidermen, since everyone around him is a bad ass his grandpa (who's this story's uncle ben) doesn't die. instead when a white fang operative tries to rob him grandpa arc draws a revolver shoots his enemy dead and holsters without breaking stride. people at the scene describe him saying to himself "it's a hell of a thing killing a man" while walking away. take us through the life of a spiderman that the universe doesn't hate
A universe that DOESN'T hate Spider-Man? Oof... Tall order there, friend. But, sure, I'll see what I can do. Before we begin, might I regale you with my research? If not, skip to the read more. When I was playing Shattered Dimension for the PlayStation, there was a bumper in the loading screen explaining that there was a Parker of York Spider-Man who was a knight cursed with the blessings of a spider. I thought to look into this for inspiration, but I came up with bupkis on that. Instead, I found three different inspirations that used the name of Spider Knight. The first is Spyder-Knight from Disney's Ultimate Spider-Man. Not really anything too interesting. Just a knight in Spider-Man armor. Then there's the Prince of Arachne, who was a Peter Parker who worked for the noble Osborn family. He left after Princess Gwendolyn died in his place when Norman Osborn tried to kill him with a chandelier. Peter became knight and served as the Prince of the kingdom, sadly leaving a heartbroken Mary Jane to weep for his return. Then there's the SpiderKnight, who is a fusion of Spider-Man and Moon Knight, which is Peter Parker with D.I.D., including him, the witty voice of The Spider, the serious voice of The Knight, the confident voice of The CEO, and the techy voice of The Science. And then there's SpideyMoon, which... is a thing, apparently? A CANON THING, TOO! Like, apparently, they dated, but it's never brought up again after one mention in one panel? Actually, now that I think about it, I think that was just a joke Spider-Man made. But, yeah, that's what I found. Anyway, here's your Huntsman Spider AU~!
--------------------------------------------------
Chapter 1 - Somethin' Sensational~!
There is an old saying, often told to those who begin questioning their lot in life...
"There are those who are born great. There are those who achieve greatness. And there are those who have greatness thrust upon them."
For one such young man, named Jaune Arc, he wasn't quite sure where he fit into these categories. One could argue he was born great as his ancestors were all heroes and imbued upon him the genetics of a great warrior. However, it could also be argued that greatness was thrust upon him when he awoke one morning with unusual abilities that allowed him to sense danger and climb up walls.
The third category, however, Jaune was certain he wouldn't fit into. His chances of "achieving greatness" were slim to none. Even if he'd somehow managed to stumble his way into Beacon Academy, a school for Huntsmen and Huntresses from all over Remnant, he still a poor fit as both a leader and a hero.
That said, he still did what he could to help out anyone he could. Like his grandfather taught him. "If you can do it, then just do it." His work schedule as a midnight superhero was a bit of a mess, but it's not like he could just stand by and do nothing. Especially not when his world was tearing itself apart.
"I'm screwed..." Jaune groaned into his textbook.
"Is that so?" Ren, his roommate, asked as he read from his own book.
"Doctor Oobleck is going to eat me alive tomorrow. I've been so busy dealing with the Torchwick gang that I wasn't paying attention to anything he's said this past week."
"You could always ask for a remedial class." Ren turned the page.
"And when would I have time for that? When you've already graduated while I'm still trying to figure out what color underwear Gura Belladonna wore when the White Fang disbanded?"
"Ghira Belladonna." Ren corrected. "And you don't have to worry about the underwear color. Just the cloak color. Which was..."
"Red?"
"No."
"White?"
"No."
"Green?"
"No."
"I'm screwed, aren't I?"
"Yes."
As Jaune slammed his face into his book again, he scroll suddenly buzzed. It was an emergency alert from the school...
"All students are required to remain away from Vale downtown due to a robbery in progress."
"Ren?" Jaune shut his textbook and ran to the closet. He snagged his backpack, complete with his superhero suit, and ran for the window.
"I'll tell any girls asking about you that you just missed them." Not looking up from his own studying. Jaune's leaving had become something of a routine at this point.
"Yeah, right." Jaune opened the window. "Like any girl would ever ask about me." Leaping out, he ran up the wall to the roof. Easier to change from there.
"3... 2..." A knock came from the door. Ren stood and opened it, finding his best friend and her roommate standing with their own textbooks. "Hello, girls."
"Hi, Ren~!" Nora cheerfully greeted.
"Hello, Ren," Pyrrha also greeted, albeit more demurely, "is Jaune here?"
"You just missed him." Ren said with a smirk.
--------------------------------------------------
"There's trouble downtown."
"Mhm."
"Do you think it's the White Fang?"
"Could be."
"This used to be such a nice city."
"Mhm."
"If only the police would do their jobs."
"..."
--------------------------------------------------
Jaune made his way from the school to downtown as fast as his legs could carry him. It was times like these, which happened every time there was a crime to be stopped, that he wished he'd brought his bike with him to Beacon. At the time, he didn't think he'd leave the academy very often, and even now he argued that it would only make it more obvious who this masked vigilante stepping in to stop crimes that huntsmen were either too busy, or too corrupt, to stop was.
Thankfully, he'd developed a routine by now and figured out the fastest way to downtown was by train. He didn't have a ticket, so he'd have to hitch a ride. Last time he tried to jump on it while the train was still in the station, the conductor's refused to move until he jumped off. For some reason, people didn't trust masked vigilantes when they said, "I'm trying to stop a crime from happening!"
Jaune was now downtown-bound with his eyes on The Gilded Crown, the biggest bank in Vale. Keeping low to the roof he quietly prayed that whoever was tough enough to make such an attempt was also nice enough to give up without a fight. Sadly, they were more the former and less the latter.
The train began to slow and Jaune leapt off the train and made a running start for the building closest to the station; the Vale CCTV News station where Lisa Lavender gave her unbiased view on him. And when Jaune says unbiased, he means that he doesn't like what she says but replies, "to be fair to her", to each of her arguments. After all, The Huntsman Spider is, was, and, for the foreseeable future, will always be a vigilante, not a huntsman or a police officer who work by codes, regulations, rules, laws, and everything else that stops a person from doing the right thing.
An extensive and drawn-out hop, skip, and a jump later, Jaune was watching the scene play out. Police, huntsmen, and huntresses were engaged in a firefight with bank robbers wearing black fedoras, black suits, red ties and red glasses. The Torchwick Gang. Jaune was weighing his options when he spotted someone breaking into the side of the building, through a top floor window.
"Hm," Jaune hummed, "either this vigilante thing is catching on, or there's something else going on here." Looking down to the brave boys and girls in blue and green, he decided they had enough on their plate without him 'getting in their way', as they like to say. "Think it's time I give them a break."
--------------------------------------------------
"So, Ren~?" Nora leaned in, cooing with a sweetness in her voice. "Any idea when Jaune will be back~?"
"I don't think he'll be back until late." Ren answered, not looking up from his textbook.
"Seriously?" Nora gave a long sigh and fell back onto his bed. "Isn't he failing history?"
"He's been studying. I'm sure he'll be fine on tomorrow's exam."
"Well, that may be so," Nora jumped from her back to her knees, "but there's a lot more important things to worry about than studying!" She glanced over to Pyrrha. "Like maybe getting closer to your friends~?" She waggled her brows.
"Nora..." Pyrrha gave a small pout. It was true she held an affection for Jaune, but it wasn't something she needed to focus on. She was attending Beacon to become a huntress, not to find a boyfriend. Getting a date for the weekend wasn't important right now, even if it's something she really wanted.
"Jaune and I are plenty close, Nora." Ren replied, not looking up from his book.
The two girls shared a look.
--------------------------------------------------
The inside of the bank was dark. Torchwick's gang must have shut off the power to make this heist a little easier for them. Jaune looked down from the rafters above as the black-cloaked goons of Vale's most dangerous criminal continued to unload bullet after bullet against the "protectors of the innocent".
Jaune understood it was a hard job to be a police officer and a huntsman. That's what his grandpa used to do, after all. However, according to the man himself, things have gotten way to lax and hard in the wrong places. When he threatened to go to the council, couple of dirty cops pinned Jaune's grandpa with a crime he didn't commit. No charges were pressed, but he was stripped of his badge and had his good name muddied.
From what Jaune had seen, this wasn't the case for all of the police, but still too many to just blindly trust all of them with everything. So he decided to let things play out down below while chasing the shadowy figure moving ahead of him. He kept his distance, following the obvious trail they left. Open doors and open windows practically screamed-
"This way!' Jaune looked down and watched as the goons started running deeper into the bank. Huntsmen and police wouldn't be too far behind. Jaune had to work fast.
Jaune's head throbbed, and his back slammed against the wall by a doorway on instinct. Bullets sprayed from the other side, meaning stealth was no longer an option. Holding up his arms, keeping his target in view, he charged forward as bullets ricocheted off his armor plating. When he got close enough, he ducked low and pushed himself forward into the figure.
That didn't work, though, and he what he jumped into fell away like solid smoke. His head throbbed and he rolled away as soon as he hit the ground, narrowly avoiding the swipe of a blade. As his rolling came to a stop, he watched the figure flee around a corner, beginning the chase again. He was about to indulge when he heard shouting from the other direction.
Following this noise, he found another large room, though this one wasn't riddled with bullets like before. Instead, there a group of hostages, all tied up and gagged, with the largest of them being yanked to his feet by Torchwick's thugs. Jaune could play cat and mouse with his lead, but not when there was somebody in trouble. Jumping down from the second floor, he landed on the balls of his feet and hopped forward. The gang members gave shouts as they aimed their weapons at him. He ran to the side, keeping clear of the hostages, and chased after the running gang members.
They dragged the large hostage down the corridor leading to the back exit. Jaune barreled through and knocked aside any criminal that got in his way. When they got up to try and chase down their assailant, they were captured by the pursuing huntsmen. Jaune made it to the back alley where the hostage was being shoved into a long car. Jaune made for a running jump and landed just as the car was peeling out.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Jaune shouted as the car swerved around, trying to shake him off. For better or worse, Jaune wasn't flying off with his hands sticking to the roof of the car. His head throbbed and he rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding a blade stabbing through the roof. His head throbbed again, instigating him to roll aside once more. By the time the third stab came, he rolled himself into position over the window. Giving a little hop, he smashed through the window, and everything started to slow down around Jaune.
The guy with the blade, shocked at the sudden intrusion, fumbled with his weapon before trying to stab Jaune with it. The thrust was avoided as Jaune slid into the vehicle with both hands now removed from the roof. Curling into himself, Jaune punched one goon while grabbing hold of the blade from the not sharp side. He then kicked the blade goon as Jaune tugged on the blade. One goon pulled his gun on Jaune, but the hostage jumped into him, giving Jaune the chance to avoid being shot and knocking the goon out.
"You okay?" Jaune asked, untying the hostage. "You usually hear about these kinds of things happening on trains."
"Aside from the glass in my suit," the man grumbled, scowling at Jaune as he removed the gag from his mouth, "I'll live." He took the gun and made his way to the front, where he tapped on the glass. The window opened and he shoved the gun through. "Pull over!"
"Whoa, whoa! Careful!" Jaune shouted. "No need to get violent!"
"Really?" The man asked sarcastically. "After kicking the hell out three asses, shoving a gun into a fourth is where you draw the line?" The car slowed to a stop.
"Wouldn't you?" Jaune asked, trying to ease the tension.
Without looking at his savior, the man replied. "You sound just like him." His arm twitched. "And you. Try anything funny and you'll wish you killed me back there."
Jaune, not sensing any danger, exited the limo with the large man. The man took the lead and brought Jaune into an alley where he could escape. Before he left, Jaune and the man had a talk.
"Look, kid, I get that your heart's in the right place," the man said, "but a lot of people got hurt today. If you want to help people, be a huntsman, or a cop. Don't make things worse by putting on a mask and being a hero."
"I have to, though." Jaune said. "If something bad happens and I could have stopped it, then it's no different than if I did the bad thing." Jaune's voice was a bit shaky, since this was a much larger man he was speaking to, but it was the honest truth.
"You really are just like Ghira." The man chuckled.
"You know Ghira Bellafauna?"
"Belladonna, and yeah. I used to work for him before..." Sirens wailing in the distance started getting louder. "You better go kid."
"Sure." Jaune jumped onto the wall and was about to climb up. "Oh, uh, one more question, if you don't mind..."
--------------------------------------------------
"Well done, Mr. Arc!" Doctor Oobleck called as he handed Jaune his test. "...is what I would say if your score were just a little higher. You may have passed the exam, but I expect much better from you in the future. Keep studying and you just might get an actual 'Well done'."
"Er, thanks, Doctor Oobleck." Jaune said, sheepishly taking the exam into his hands.
"Guess you were studying without us, huh, Jaune?" Nora remarked.
"Well, something like that." Jaune chuckled. "Ren and I have been really hitting the books this past week."
"Yeah, well, some things are a lot more important than studying, you know." Nora rolled her eyes.
"Nora..." Pyrrha grumbled.
As Jaune ignored Nora, he felt like someone was staring at him. He looked around, his eyes passing over the classroom until he caught someone looking right at him a few desks away. The girl looked away, keeping her eyes glued to her exam paper. He recognized her, but more as a friend of a friend than an actual friend. Blake, wasn't it?

I read this post the other day and now I can't help but try to plot out a S3 AU in which Gwendolyn Post is just a little more patient (and maybe, as a result, she's not yet managed to get herself expelled from the Watcher's Council, so she doesn't have to worry about being exposed as a fraud the minute Rupert Giles thinks to make a single phone call).
A world where Gwen realizes that having unlimited access to a emotionally unstable teenage Slayer with no friends or family in town -- a Slayer who will do almost anything for the smallest scraps of positive attention from an even vaguely maternal authority figure -- might, on balance, be more beneficial to her personal quest for power and magical treasure than immediately burning all her bridges to steal a metal glove that can't ever be taken off and continually casts a spell that summons lightning directly down on to the person wearing it.
Put yourself in Mrs Gwendolyn Post's shoes.
Isn't it much smarter to keep playing the part of the stern but genuine Watcher, a part you did after all train for for years of your life -- and maybe quietly help yourself to a few of the more valuable magical items your Slayer happens to bring you on the side -- than to risk it all for one single prize, however rare?  If, with just a little molding and prodding and some barbed compliments now and then, you can get that teenage girl to go out and kill demons and steal all their stuff and bring it all back to you, no questions asked, where's the harm?  All you have to do is keep making sure she remembers that she's fundamentally unlovable and unwanted and that nobody else but you will ever accept her and the best she can ever hope for is your occasional fleeting and conditional praise, as long as she does what she's told and keeps it all a secret.  Half of that is taken verbatim from the Council's own script for enlisting new Slayers anyway. It'll be easy.
Maybe you tell her how impressed you are that she's training throughout the winter, rather than letting herself get distracted by things like holidays or parties or presents. Tell her some half-true story about the focus and determination of long-dead Slayers before her.  (You can go to all the parties you want, of course.  These rules don’t apply to you.)  Maybe you show up at her motel room briefly later, just to make sure she didn't take up that irritating other girl's unexpected offer to go to her house for dinner.  Maybe you reward her dedication to the cause with some little unimportant bauble; something cheap and meaningless you notice she keeps wearing for weeks afterwards, even if she pretended not to be impressed with your gift at the time.  Maybe you stick the crappy little (obviously shoplifted) presents that she nervously watches you unwrap later in a drawer somewhere and never think about them again.
Maybe you give her a little bit of advance warning about the Cruciamentum. Not early enough she can tell anyone else, of course, but early enough that she's ready for it. Not because you care (and you really don’t; she's an easily manipulated idiot and you don't respect her in the slightest), but because you want her to realize that the rest of the Council can't be trusted. That Mr Giles can't be trusted.  That there's only one person in all the world who she can trust.
And if one night she shows up at your door uninvited to tell you that she killed an innocent man by mistake (you really don't care about this either), and she doesn't have anyone else to turn to (you try not to make it too obvious how pleased you are about that), then ... well, what an opportunity for you.  Obviously you're not going to let anyone else on the Council know about this: maybe they'd take her back to England, wasting all your hard work. Maybe they'd send a new Watcher to interrogate her.  But the Sunnydale police department aren't exactly competent.  You can make it all go away, you tell her.  And you do.
But you let her know, subtly -- just not too subtly -- how disappointed you are by her carelessness.  How she'll have to work a lot harder from now on to get back into your good graces.  How you've really risked a lot for her tonight (you haven't) and how much she owes you now.  How you'll expect her to do better from now on (or at least to do more, more often, without ever asking inconvenient questions).
The disgrace was almost getting caught, you'll tell her later. That's what you found so deplorable. The mistake was needing to be bailed out.  There’s no excuse for sloppiness.  Killing some idiot who got in the way while the Slayer was doing her job though … well, Faith’s right to think that he wasn’t important.  He didn’t matter.  Oh, and the Sunnydale natural history museum is hosting an exhibit of a few rare magical objects next week that it would probably be best to keep in safe hands.  (Which is to say, of course, your hands.)  You don’t think Buffy or Giles need to know about it, do you, Faith? It would be best to be discreet about securing the necessary items, but if some idiot happens to get in the way, well...
There's no real risk of Faith being tricked into outing herself, the way she was tricked into revealing she was working for the Mayor in canon, because it's not a secret that Gwendolyn Post is Faith's Watcher.  Faith is supposed to listen to her Watcher, isn’t she?  And if her Watcher tells Faith to kill some demon and bring her the valuable books he was trying to sell, why shouldn't Faith do it?  Killing demons is her job, isn't it?  She’s good at killing things.  Good at stealing things, too, it turns out. Sometimes you don't even have to pretend to be impressed.
If Faith seems increasingly sad and withdrawn all the time, why do you care? It doesn't make her any less useful. And if Faith doesn't talk to anyone much anymore, and keeps some of her missions secret from her fellow Slayer and all of that other Slayer's little friends and hangers-on, what's so strange about that?  They're not Faith's friends, after all. None of them are.  Faith doesn't have friends.  Never needed them.  She's got somebody though.  She's got Mrs Post.

10 things Henry Wotton does that scare and confuse me
Does not engage with Dorian’s antisemitism
To paraphrase MandaloreGaming, “[Henry] not being [antisemitic and/or] racist feels almost like a plot hole.”
In fact, Henry is the only one to treat Sybil’s manager like a human being.
“Lord Henry, upon the other hand, rather liked him. At least he declared he did, and insisted on shaking him by the hand and assuring him that he was proud to meet a man who had discovered a real genius and gone bankrupt over a poet.”
This isn’t even him being mocking, we have seen that Henry doesn’t mock in such an involved way—he prefers to talk shit afterwards (not counting Basil :( ).
Says a ton of misogynistic shit, but never takes a misogynistic action
You would expect a guy as supposedly misogynistic as Henry to be offended and insult every woman who argues against him, but he just talks with them and genuinely takes them seriously. He tries to convince them of his ideas, but if they don’t believe him, he doesn’t push it.
Implied to have close relationships with sister and his aunt.
Gwendolyn is the only sibling that is named and that is because she is the only one he makes a point to hang out with.
Same with Aunt Agatha.
Is possibly implied to have gotten at least a bit annoyed with Dorian sleeping with Gwendolyn (his sister). *this is based off the way Dorian reacts after Basil brings it up. Considering that entire moment was added in the 1891 ver, it’s certainly interesting, but nothing definitive, so take this with a grain of salt!
Has a decent relationship with his wife
Based on the fact Victoria was able to divorce him at all, he respected her enough to not put up a legal fight (divorce in England was difficult as fuck because women essentially became property to their husbands. They didn’t own anything and couldn’t even bring up a case without a man doing so. The fact Victoria was able to do so and the fact no other family members are mentioned, implies he brought the case to court for her, thus making the divorce process much easier than it ever would have been)
Always involves the women who enter discussions with him.
He never once objects to them out nor insults them or makes them feel inferior or otherwise unwelcome. Constantly, he cheekily, but genuinely, suggests that the women he speaks with should have their own ‘fun’ regardless of the scandal involved. Recall that Victorian society characterized women as only valuable as wives and less than human. Henry is actively inviting women to be just as bad as men, thus seeing them at the same level as men.
More so, in chapter 17, his banter with the duchess is not done so mockingly. Like his early conversations with Basil, Henry entertains and elaborates on her ideas, never once dismissing her. Even when he points out things she’s gotten wrong in his perspective, he does so playfully, which we actually haven’t seen him do with anyone except for Basil.
The entire scene with the Duchess of Monmouth in chapter 18.
Henry is strangely gentle and compassionate with her in a way we have never seen him be with anyone (even Dorian!). He is genuine with her in a way that is comforting, he compliments her, makes her laugh, and, weirdly, warns her not to enter a scandal.
Owns a parrot.
Is pretty accurate on the importance of youth in society
Ever since the 1960s, youth culture has absolutely dominated social norms
The concept of teenagers and childhood were created because companies realized they could sell shit to you.
Is constantly criticizing marriage because of how it limits relationships between the men and women involved.
This is novel because marriage was an expectation of Victorian Society, especially for someone in Henry’s class. The fact he actively despises it and recommends against it would be one of the many many things that would paint him as amoral to everyone else.
“the one charm of marriage is that it makes a life of deception absolutely necessary for both parties.”
“there are other and more interesting bonds between men and women. I will certainly encourage them.”
Disclaimer: this is headcanon: Would probably say, “I’m going to live forever” and immediately get hit by a bus.
I don’t have evidence for this, it just feels right.
Bibliography because I reference historical shit and hbomberguy has reawakened the fear of accidentally plagiarizing i have had since i was six (but i am not doing this in some college style, because ewww)

The Jacquard Family
4 generations of mess, chaos, love, and drama!
Diana Jacquard usually runs a tight ship and keeps things in control, of course by her standards only. Raising top model daughters in the late 80's and 90's fashion industry required tough skin, bold choices, and eventually lead to strained relationships. Now that her daughters, Jacquelyn, Monica, and Evelyn are older and have lives and kids of their own, Diana tends to sit back and make her power moves in silence...
Jacquelyn and Evelyn strayed away from the fashion industry, with Jackie now running her own skincare company, and Evelyn being a director/curator at Windenburg's Modern Art Museum. Monica, however, stayed in modeling making a name for herself, and retired after her kids got older..
Of course as one generation's fame dwindles, another rises. Jacquelyn and her late husband have two kids Marquis, now Del Sol Valley football team's wide receiver, and Penelope, aka Penny Pizzazz, top sim influencer/model. Monica who married and recently divorced the legend basketball player Stephan Powell, have two kids, Adyn and Alyssa. Adyn is a celebrity publicist for top athletes, including his cousin, while Alyssa follows in her mom's footsteps taking over the modeling scene and being a recovering addict...
And the drama continues in this generation as well, with most of the kids now being either married, engaged and with families of their own. Marquis and Gwendolyn or Gwen, married and now have a teenager, Mckinnley, and a toddler Delaney Diana. Penny is now married to San Myshuno's point guard Darren Austin, who may or may not be truthful in his marriage. Adyn married Grace Daugherty, a celebrity publicist for influencers/models, who now represents family members too, have 2 children, Haven and Solana. And Alyssa, is recently engaged to San Myshuno's shooting guard Lucas Harvey, but is struggling in her engagement...

The Clawthornes' Nightmare
"I see that my daughter took in an apprentice, and you accepted my eye. Well... make yourself comfortable... this is the Titan's Nightmare, where each and every Clawthorne is fated to end and rot to..."
Tumblr media
"I'm the last one... well, at least the last one not to succumb to the thirst of blood completely yet..."
Lastborn of seven, Dell Clawthorne watched all of his brothers, sisters and parents die during the Hunt or succumb to madness before he reached his twenties, becoming the last heir of the Family and Head of the Workshop.
When he got married with an Huntress, and was blessed with two beautifull daughters, he saw a ray of hope for his family; he would spend hours training and teaching the two girls on the ways of the Hunt and weapon crafting... but his dream suddently was fated to be snuffed one tragic night, when his mind ultimately collapsed and he was put down by his own blood... when he woke up in the Titan's Nightmare, he was faced with the horrifying truth: his family was cursed. An ancient and powerfull curse originated by sins now forgotten, and so he sought to uncover the truths of the Nightmare and free his family by the eternal agony they were trapped in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"...there they are... our family, drunk in blood..."
The Nightmare is home of the Hunters and Huntresses of the Clawthorne Workshop throught out the ages.
Generations of Clawthornes locked in an eternal Night of Hunt, in a state of perpetual feral drunkness, slaughtering the tormented souls of either innocent associates of the Workshop or, even worse, other members of the family that were unfortunate enough to become Beasts... sons, parents and relatives destined to be hunted by their own kin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The weapons of Hunters found in the Nightmare.
The Bonescutter is an heavy machete with a serrated blade, when turned into its tricked form, by a simple turn of the handle, it becomes a double handed heavy saw, cutting deep and causing the victim's blood to flow like a river.
Raptor Chains is a short ranged hook weapon with a mechanism which, when activated, release a long spiked chain that allow the blade to gain enormous range and to be thrown, so that it can hooks its victim. With a second activation the chain is retracted, pulling anything caught in its claw toward the Hunter.
Crushclaw, a claw-like blade mounted on an arm mechanism. Its tricked form is nothing short of an heavy brass knuckle, with the claw retracted and ready to spring back into his static form. The energy released by the blade is enough to breake the bones of the biggest of beasts. Many of the Old Hunters' weapons had claws/scythe like shape, in the image of a very old and important Hunter's weapon.
Boom-stick. A one handed mace that unleash all of its power in its transformed state: a long dual blade axe with a fire glyph contained in the central lantern, infusing the weapon with fire, a central element of the hunts of yore...
Tumblr media
"My daughter!!... pride and joy of House Clawthorne, now twisted into that... that thing!! Oh Gwendolyn... what have they done to our sweet flea..."
The perpetual hunt is only a part of the Titan's Curse to the Family. Hunters of the Nightmare are forced to face other members of their own family... those so wretched, despised or broken beyond salvation that took a bestial form even after their death in the Waking World... all that is left of them is scared, confused and mindless flesh to be slayed time and time again.
Death doesn't hold salvation for them, unless someone will put an end to the Nightmare.
Tumblr media
"The source of the Nightmare is shielded by the great Cathedral Castle, a bastion full of secrets and death, there the Host of the Nightmare resides... they protect the Nightmare's secrets... but the doors are guarded... a lonely Huntress tiredlessly stand guard on top of a red cardinal Palisman"
The witch Evelyn Clawthorne was the first person to come into contact with the two brothers from the Human World.
A free spirit, curious and determined to expand her knowledge of magic in hope to help others, she found immediate kinship with the two human scholars, and in time, kinship bloomed into love with the older of the two: Caleb. She was there when the Titan Blood was first administered and its effects discovered, there when they found the island beyond the fog, the child killed and the skull took back to the Boiling Isles, marking the birth of the Blood Coven... until the end of her days she would tell herself that all they did was for the greater good of both witches and humans; even when she stood next to Vicar Belos in the square as the beast's corpse was burned... her uniform still warm with her lover's blood.
In times now passed, she would use her sickle and dagger of siderite to gather plants and materials for rituals and potions, later on she refashioned the two tools into weapons of mercy: the template from which her descendants would forge their own instruments of death.
She was one of the last witches to use a Palisman, now a disused practice, and that loyal little palisman would later follow her into the Nightmare when her time finally came... together they still stand guard to protect the doors of the Cathedral Castle, and Host of the Nightmare inside...

Scholar of the Byrgenwerth College of Salem, from the Human World, dreamer and passionate soul, Caleb Wittebane and his younger brother shared the dream that one day they would bring knowledge to humanity and shed the light of reason over the darkness of ignorance... a worldview developed from their upbringing in a society plagued by the Witch Trials... innocent people would be put at the stake out of fear and stupidity.
Their lives forever changed when they met the witch Evelyn and followed her into the Demons' Realm, a world of magic and wonder, that fueled their dream of discovery. So they began to work and study together: witch and humans side by side, with the common goal of pushing the boundaries of magic and knowledge for the betterness of both worlds.
The threes' goals degenerated into ambition of ascension and trascendental knowledge when they discovered the Titan's Blood and its powers: it didn't just boost the witches' natural powers, but granted the powerless humans with magic too, on top of miraculous healing effects and phisical strenghtening for both species.
But such power came at a dreadfull price. A curse. Both on the blood they so carelessly administered and consumed but also on the souls of those responsible for the great sin committed against the natural order... the Titan's unfathomable roars conjured into eternal torment for the guilty.
He was the first to fall at the hands of the Titan's Curse, becoming what he desperatly sought to avoid: a mindless, rabid beast to be killed and burned at the stake, like one of the innocent witches he longed to save in his home, a place his gaze would never again grace...
When he died, his twisted mindscape became the Clawthornes' Nightmare, and he was bound to the astral plane as its Host... his bestial body forever stripped of flesh and of the precious blood with which he indulged in so much. His bones scorched and ablaze forever in an eternal flame of suffering... guarding the secrets of his past and the true source of the Nightmare.
Tumblr media
"Woah there, girl... you don't smell the same as those blood drunked lunatics out there... no, no, you're sane... for now... a word of advice then, go back the way you came. Leave this nightmare and return home... secrets are secrets for a reason, and it would be a shame to cut off that pretty head of yours... so go back... return to your home and pretend it was all a bad dream... it's for your own good..."
When the Vicar first learned of the Curse, he hurried to prolong his mortal life through blasphemous and horrid methods... one such way was the creations of dolls-like grimwalkers made in the image of his dead brother... as they were born from Caleb's blood, those pitifull creations too are destined to end up in the Nightmare, so Belos equipped the first one with a silent bell, a cursed dagger and set him on a mission: to snuff every intruder and protect the secrets of the Nightmare... least the world knew of their unforgivable sin...

Oh boy, another big one! The first part of the Titan's Nightmare, another piece of the puzzle of the story of the Owlborne!
Still, this one was a very funny one, I had a blast designing the Old Hunters and their weapons, especially Evelyn and Caleb!!
At this point I can guess what will be the result, but why the heck, let's make a poll anyway!

[Footsteps on creaky floorboards rapidly approach]
[Ornate double doors creak open wide]
Coni: Hi...Gwendolyn Darling?
Gwendolyn: Welcome back to the Darling-Avalon residence, darling!
Coni smiles politely; it's her first time here.
Tumblr media
Gwendolyn: [Yelling into next room] Dearest? Get your bag on, we have company! [Directs attention back to Coni] Oh, come on in, quickly. We don't want to let those damned heterosexual squirrels get in again. [Scoffs and pulls Coni inside, quickly closing the doors behind her]
Coni steps through the doorway, immediately surrounded by the vibrant ambiance of a bustling household, filled with several strange characters tending to their individual business. Bonehilda, the skeleton maid, meticulously dusts every nook and cranny, while Gwendolyn's anonymous lover remains anonymous beneath a paper bag, quietly tuned into the evening news. Glowing orbs dance sporadically through the atmosphere, as occasional rodents scurry through intentional witchmade holes in the walls.

[Persephone Darling appears from the next room]
Persephone: What on earth brings you all the way out here all by yourself at this hour? I hope you didn't drive. Is everything okay, dear? Gwendolyn: [Gently grazes Coni's elbow] You know Persephone has an excellent talent for reading emotional auras.
Coni wanted to lie as always, but she couldn't bring herself to this time, so she settled for a half-truth.

Coni: Honestly, no, not really. [Shrugs] Just some family issues. I had a falling out with my parents. It's fine, though. I'll be fine.
Gwendolyn: [Nods knowingly] Yes, well, the engagement probably put a lot of strain on the family, sweetheart. It has to be hard on them knowing that you're marrying your brother. But whatever you want to do with your life, kiddo. Congratulations! Coni: Huh? No, I'm not—
Persephone interrupts Coni by grasping her arm, and shaking her head, giving her a "it's not worth it," expression. Coni accepts the message with another polite smile.
Persephone: So, what did you come out here for?
Tumblr media
An eager squirrel unexpectedly bounds from a nearby cabinet onto Coni's shoulder, startling her. The squirrel chirps angrily as Gwendolyn tears it from Coni's flannel. Gwendolyn: ABDULLAH, YOU IMBECILE! Persephone: [Shouting] GWENDOLYN, IF YOU CAN'T KEEP HIM IN ORDER I'M TAKING MY SQUIRREL BACK TO HENFORD. AND DON'T CALL HIM NAMES!!!
Gwendolyn: [Snuggling squirrel that struggles to get away] It's okay, I didn't mean it. Shhh. I am so sorry about that, dear. Sometimes his mind gets a little... fractured. He's currently breastfeeding, it brings out the worst in him.

Coni, a known genius: [Stares blankly at Gwendolyn for a split second, puzzled] ...Oh. I um... I was hoping you could tell me more about your cousin, Mortimer Goth? But more specifically, his wife, Bella... Gwendolyn: Oh! Yes! Yes of course. Bella! Actually, I have a box of some of her things. Let me go get it! Persephone, get her something to drink. Don't be rude!
Gwendolyn and Abdullah ascend the stairs to retrieve the box. Once out of sight, Persephone guides Coni to the kitchen to get her a glass of water.

Persephone: She's a little mixed up, if you couldn't tell. She thought you were Coraleye. Coni: [Tucks a strand of hair behind her ears] Yeah, I thought so.
Tumblr media
Persephone: With that being said, she's gonna go on some of her famous Darling tangents, don't say I didn't warn you. [Runs faucet]
Coni: That's fine with me. I'd rather not be home for a while.
