Hmmmm. Who's a famous Caster--I mean, researcher--from Kjerag who casts with a book and dagger-like staff? Is this just a joke on the part of the artist, or can we scrape together some more evidence for this (crack) relationship? Let's dig a little deeper.

Honestly I can't stop thinking about this. Picturing Gnosis overseeing the tradesmen coming to Kjerag for whatever reason and his eye falling upon Steward and teaching him Arts in his offtime at the lab; Stewart admiring SA's efforts to open Kjerag and volunteering to help... An older Steward donning a monocle not because he needs it overly much but because he's emulating his mentor Gnosis and Gnosis internally dying of his youthful enthusiasm.

well! I finally got that free time I was waiting for so I managed to take a lot of photos of the g witch season 2 volume 2 blu-ray box featuring our very own el presidente guelito jeturk! 🦁🎉 I'll put them all under the read more where I break them down by sections, too!

first section is the outer box, of course, and can I just say. if somebody sold even just the outer box on mercari (like somebody did for shaddiq's cover, I remember reading somewhere), I would be so tempted to buy it. handsome boy notwithstanding, this thing would actually make such a handsome and fun a5 document holder! the red is just so attractive to the eyes and check out that gold stamping! like the whole thing just really looks so executive.

and I really love the choice of foil silhouette, too. this is guel's revival from the penultimate version of the season 2 opener. his choice of dialogue has...far too many...ellipses...for...my tastes...but we know how important it is to his arc so it belongs there. I just wish they got rid of even just one ellipsis cause it doesn't make sense without the drama of the source scene.

here's the rest of the contents of the box! there's the actual disc box, a special booklet in guel's primary colors, then two sets of end cards, one for the anime and another for the audio drama

aside from the handsome boy at the front, the other part that convinced me to buy this blu-ray volume is the stunning spread of the darilbalde by ippei gyoubu as the disc box jacket. now I can finally say that I own one of his artworks!

I haven't had the time to watch/listen to the cds yet but the red one contains episodes 16 to 18, the season 2 digest (I think this is the one narrated by noto mamiko-san?), the 2nd and 3rd versions of the season 2 opener and the jeturk house's audio commentary of episode 17. and by jeturk house, I mean everyone's voice actors, of course: azakami youhei for guel, takeo otsuka for lauda, takada yuuki for felsi, hirose yuuki for petra and yamashita taiki for kamil.

the silver one is for the two audio dramas: sophie and norea before the dawn (of fold) and izakaya prospera (which is a modern au setting where the jeturk's business is a flower shop which vim manages because his boys are too into basketball).

the special booklet talks about the episodes, the characters, the world, and has some special interviews from miyahara youhei who is the technical director and kodera shouta, director of photography. if anyone's interested with these interviews, please let me know and I'll take clear photos!

(by the way, the line at the side of the episode 17 summary is guel's oshi line, "I'm grateful to you. You're important to me." as far as his mentions in the summaries are concerned, episode 17 just says that miorine chose him as suletta's final duel and he won against her, and episode 18 just says that miorine and guel have started working together for the presidential election)

That new singing video of miss g just goes to show how much fitness influencers rely on posing and angles. She’s obviously incredibly “fit” but what we see in her pictures does not translate to real life

Yeah, which is what made her "meltdown" over people questioning whether she's had cosmetic enhancements all the more embarrassing, right? 😒 When you're not flexing, or popping your hip out, or wearing clothing with a built-in lifter/shaper (and kudos to her for not doing so every single second, honestly) it helps - or I guess I should say *should* help - the people looking at the posts make the distinction between what's real and what's exaggerated. And since we're on this topic, I was looking back at her posts recently (still got the huzzband tagged in captions...awkward) and she *did* openly admit to getting a thermage (skin tightening) procedure on her abdomen after the second pregnancy. Not uncommon, lots of post-pregnancy bodies use alternative methods to fix skin "quickly", but it just goes to show that she wouldn't look like that without the help of others. ;)

It had been months since Rebecca Lynch had returned to Ireland. 

It hadn’t taken her long to get settled back in. She still had an open lease to her apartment that she was paying rent on for when she needed a place to stay if she had to return home for whatever legal reasons may have come up, so it was just a matter of getting her belongings fully set back up and moved in again. 

Finn had been more than happy to help out with that part of it.  Although, as he did, she couldn’t help but notice the heartbreak in his eyes at the prospect of her career being over so soon. 

So, once she was moved in, she decided to keep her distance.  It was better that way.  Lonely as hell, though. 

It was one afternoon, a few hours before dinner time, that she was sitting at the computer. One of her friends a couple of days earlier had introduced her to a new website – I Can Has Cheezburger. The content was dumb at best – photos of cats with funny captions, but it was dumb, harmless, and funny. It was just getting started though, and she wondered just how big it could get. 

Regardless, sometimes, mindless web surfing was just the thing she needed, so she figured she’d spend some time on there to see what was new. 

It was while she was on the site when her AOL Instant Messenger sounded. 

Rebecca, or rather “EireChick87”, hadn't been expecting a message. 

She usually left AIM on in the background in case anyone did want to contact her, but when a message came up on her screen from “GenericoNo1” she was equal parts shocked and excited?  

It couldn’t be, she thought, how could he… 

But, as she read the message, her heart leaped. 

es esta Rebecca? It asked.  mi amiga? 

Becky didn't speak Spanish. At All. But she recognized Generico's manner of “speaking” immediately. 

Quickly, she typed her answer 

YES! 

There was a pause before the reply came. 

si? 

… the conversation was all of four messages long and Rebecca already saw a problem. 

The Spanish.  Or rather, his Spanish, her English. 

For all the short time they’d spent together, Rebecca had never been able to figure out how much English Generico knew, but if his messages, in all their English-alphabet butchered nature, meant anything, his language abilities were likely limited when it came to text. 

She was going to have to find some other way to communicate. 

Thinking fast, she opened a new tab on Firefox and headed to Babelfish. The internet was a wonderful thing, you could get things translated, albeit poorly in an instant, and, going to the entry box, typed her message. 

You don't know how to type in English, do you? 

Quickly, she got a translation and, copying and pasting it, sent it along. 

Shortly the response came. 

no lo siento.  

And back into the translator THAT went. 

No I am sorry. 

Rebecca sighed. Moments earlier, she'd been so excited. A chance to talk to Generico again! She’d missed him so much, she hadn’t even realized. Sure, Kevin had messaged her a couple of times, but it wasn’t the same.  

She loved Generico and knew how much her departure had crushed him. The chance to talk to him again was amazing. 

Or, so she thought.  Just a few minutes into the conversation and she was wondering how quickly she could learn to speak Spanish. 

It wasn't that bad an idea, actually, especially considering Kevin certainly would never bother learning. She didn't know why, it would have made sense for him to do so ages ago, but for some stupid reason, he was unwilling to even try. 

Maybe it made Kevin feel safer to not know what Generico was saying.  Maybe he felt safer not being able to speak to Generico in return. 

God knew Kevin was determined to avoid touching his own feelings with a ten-foot pole, let alone attempting to engage with Generico. 

So, if Kevin wouldn’t learn Spanish, at least she could. 

But, that was later. In the meantime, the crappy online translator would have to do. 

I don't speak Spanish, she typed back, But if you can put up with lousy online translations, we might be able to pull this off. 

She translated it, copied it, pasted it, and sent it off. 

The reply took longer that time, and she immediately filtered It through her translator again. 

It is good enough. I understand. 

It wasn't perfect, but yeah, it would work. Although she was pretty sure there would be stuff lost in the translations. 

In the meantime… 

How are you messaging me? Are you using Kevin's computer? Did he let you?  

A quick response that time, something she could understand without the translator. 

no 

Rebecca rolled her eyes. 

If you are using his computer without permission, Generico, he will skin you. 

There was a longer pause that time, and once more she had to use the translator. 

No. I am using my computer. 

Rebecca blinked. Hard. 

When the hell did Generico get a computer??? she thought, more than a little alarmed.  

He didn’t have money. She knew he didn’t. Kevin had told her once that Generico lived in one of the worst places in Montreal, in an apartment that smelled bad, had a hole in the bathroom wall, and that he’d had to bully Al, the landlord, to fix the stove and replace the refrigerator (neither of which worked). He was broke, beyond broke, so how the hell did he have a computer? 

It took her a moment to collect herself but, once she did, she responded. 

When did you get a computer? And how?  

Translate, copy, paste, send. 

And after a long pause… 

habia un hombre en una tienda de la ciudad.  el tenia esto y le pague en efectivo.  costo mucho pero Kevin no sabia que tenia dinero.  ahora, no.  pero funciona.  necesitaba hablar contigo. 

It was a hell of a lot of Spanish, and Rebecca knew the translator would have a hell of a time with it, but… 

There was a man in a store in the city.  He had this and I paid him cash.  It cost a lot but Kevin didn't know he had money.  Not now.  But it works.  He needed to talk to you. 

Well, that didn't sound right. Did Generico steal Kevin’s money??? 

Who needed to talk to me? she asked. And did you steal Kevin’s money? 

NO! the response came. Generico dinaro! Generico habla!  

Rebecca didn't need the translator that time. 

Not that it would have helped anyway. 

Messaging through a translator, especially one that was trying to compensate for her friend's speech patterns, was going to be a bitch, she could tell. 

But at that point, she was engaged. More than engaged, she was curious.   He had bought his own computer. It was interesting enough, but really, she wanted to know how he had afforded it. 

She typed her next message into the Babelfish box. 

So. It was your money, and now it's your computer. How much did it cost? 

Two months, Generico replied. 

Rebecca was going to scream. 

“God,”  she said aloud, staring at the nonsensical translation, “This is shit. How are we going to work this???” 

She tried again. There was nothing else to do. She missed the hell out of her friend and even a broken conversation was better than nothing, even if it was driving her insane. 

You know, Generico, if I'm going to message you, I should probably learn Spanish. 

Translate, copy, paste, send. 

si. espanol muy bien. 

She was already beginning to treasure the messages she didn't need Babelfish for. 

Suddenly, her phone rang. 

BRB, she quickly typed, and, sending it along, she answered the phone. 

It was Finn. 

“Rebecca!” Finn said, far too enthusiastically for, among other things, the middle of winter, “Are you busy? I'm in your area and was thinking maybe lunch. Or an early dinner? My treat.” 

Dinner.  Rebecca knew what that meant. 

She’d figured out ages ago that Finn had a crush on her, but she’d never let on. It wasn’t that Prince wasn’t attractive, or friendly, or just an all-around great guy. He was all of that. 

He was also her mentor.  And if she was ever going to get back into wrestling, when she got back into wrestling, she was going to need a good trainer again. And Finn was the best. 

So, if they were going to have dinner, they were going to have to be careful. 

That said… 

Rebecca looked back at her screen where a lone question mark had appeared as a response, Generico clearly not understanding what BRB meant in any language. 

As she stared at it, thoughts filled her head. Thoughts of a hug in the wrong Italian airport. Thoughts of a grateful, tender kiss on the hand as thanks for helping out on that same trip. Thoughts of a gentle-yet-effective shoulder rub in an Illinois apartment while on the mend from a career-stalling chair shot. 

Thoughts of the most beautiful antique silver and abalone necklace which was kept safe in her jewelry box on her dresser. 

Most of all, thoughts of just moments earlier when she’d been so excited to get that first message and how sad she knew in her heart Generico would be if she logged off so soon. 

She couldn’t do it.  She couldn’t leave Generico. Not like that. Not yet. 

She owed it to him. Beyond that, she wanted to talk to him in a way she hadn’t even realized until she saw his initial message. 

She really had missed him so much and she couldn't help but smile into the phone as she replied. 

“You know, Prince,” she said, trying to keep the joyful anticipation of a renewed friendship out of her voice, “I think we’ll have to try some other time.”

Shalom y'all! Thought I'd do a comparison of the original cover art & the edit I made of it to go with my remix. It was A LOT of work, but I fell in love with the results. I'll also share some of that the meaning is in the symbolism I used for my edit.

I edited the photo to show a faint, almost ghost-like form of Taylor on the couch, but instead of her looking towards the lamp that was on a stand next to her, I replaced the lamp with a couple books. I enhanced the highlight around these books to emphasize their importance here. Why? Because these are no ordinary books, but the Light that King David spoke of; "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, & a Light unto my path"; they're holy books. The one on the bottom is an Artscroll edition of the Hebrew Tanakh (Jewish Bible, more or less), opened to Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) 11:9-10, where it reads: "Young person, if you spend your youth only having fun, if you use your early years just to entertain yourself, if you follow your heart as you live your life, and let your eyes be your guide; understand that for all these things God will bring you to judgment. Therefore, remove anger from your heart; and keep from harming your body; for neither adolescence nor youth has any lasting value." The top book is the CJB (Complete Jewish Bible), translated by David H. Stern, opened to Matisyahu (Matthew) 13:22 refering to the Parable of the Sower; "Now the seed sown among thorns stands for someone who hears the message, but it is choked by the worries of the world and the deceitful glamor of wealth, so that it produces nothing."

The title at the top right, "He Said," isn't a direct translation of the Hebrew next to it. The Hebrew, ויאמר (read right to left as "vayomer") means "and spoke"/"thus spoke," from Bereshit (Genesis) 1:3, "And the L-rd said "Let there be Light," which is how I start the song. At the bottom, a caption of 13 words; "Someday, when we leave this world, the fame & wealth won't follow us," a stark contrast to the original light hearted caption. Finally, my countersign is visible in the upper left corner of the image, a Hebrew-to-English transliteration with more than one hidden meaning...

My reasons for making both the songs message & the representative art cover much more serious in tone, is to reflect a more sobering thought & understanding. This world, it isn't enough, nor are the pleasures in it enduring, tho pure pleasure is sweet & long lasting, even in memory, & that is G-d's blessing. However, if we really want to taste of the sweetness that never ends, such does exist; there are thing persons & places s that last eternally, & fixed on them, or rather, on Him, are all things. This is why the shadows of my edited art are darker, but the highlights brighter, than the original; ultimately, there is only one who has conquered death. Let's join him, Yeshua haMoshiach, & overcome even sin & death, in Moshiach, &, thru him, in The Father, YHVH.
