reading tftsa is always an emotional experience especially when you get the short stories focused around the Blackthorns because the absence of Mark just bleeds out. like when you read about Julian being Helen's suggenes and Simon being the witness to Julian's parabatai ceremony you are just burdened with the knowledge that that's not who they would have picked if the circumstances were different. in a different life it was Mark.

Bella's Bloody Marinara

The jar of spaghetti sauce Charlie’d stuck in the microwave was only on its first revolution when I yanked the door open and pulled it out.

“What did I do wrong?” Charlie demanded.

“You’re supposed to take the lid off first, Dad. Metal’s bad for microwaves.”

In honour of @threebooksoneplot season 3 starting next week, may I present an actually nice tasting cocktail based off of one of my favourite gags in the books, from Eclipse Chapter 1: Ultimatum.

Ingredients:

1 oz vodka

4 oz tomato juice

1 /2 oz lemon juice

Dash balsamic vinegar

Italian seasoning

Salt, to taste

Black pepper

Italiano garnishes of your choice

Shake vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, balsamic, and seasonings with ice. Strain into highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with black pepper, lemon wedge, and basil, and top with fettuccine noodle skewer of Caprese salad ingredients.

Optionally, add pop rocks for a nod to Charlie's *shocking* microwave safety 😔

Hey I wrote a fanfiction for Valentine's day - I wanted to explore the subject of Bella and Mandrake's status as a supposedly married couple.

I think I'll end up making a separate post to explain the process behind the fic, along with little tidbits and concept art, mostly because I've injected a lot of little details to the book/movie's inexistant lore and I think it'd be interesting to develop those!

In the meantime, have an angsty illustration - I promise though, it does get better. But first it has to get worse. uwu (threat)

I am rotating Arthur Lester inside my head so fast.

In Part 31 Arthur admits to not love Bella, describing their relationship as wrong.

We know Bella is a religious woman, her dad is a Freemason after all. In fiction, religion is often linked to purity, absolution and unconditional love and acceptance. Hence, we can deduce that Arthur saw Bella’s love as boundless, forgiving, pure and absolute in his regards… And he felt deep down that it was wrong, that he didn’t deserve it and shouldn’t have even been offered it in the first place.

However, if we go back to Part 28, we have this scene:

Where we find that Arthur is fully ready to accept (dying and) a whole eternity of torture and damnation in the Dark World, as long as his (one and only) friend will meet him there.

It’s insane that he cannot conceive of someone genuinely and unconditionally loving him, but is certain that the only form of affection he deserves must be woven in punishment or suffering.

I think it makes everything about him slowly learning to accept Oscar (a clergyman)’s friendship a whole lot more significant… and makes it a whole lot more painful how he presented it as an offering for the King in Yellow to take away and erase from his memories in Part 40.

thought about the livvy & jace/janus parallels again 378 dead 2992 injured... like wdym they were killed by the exact same sword, with jace being stabbed in the back & livvy stabbed in the front. wdym they were raised on the shores of the exact same lake almost exactly five years apart. wdym they were both came back wrong. the way livvy and janus share the common goal of just wanting to get what they lost too, and they both spend their gotsm stories watching their loved ones with no way to properly interact with them despite how badly they want to.

it's arguably one of the things that terrifies me the most going into twp like literally what does it all mean... what does this mean for livvy...

ok I’ve been vagueposting about this a lot but fuck it honestly. ive noticed that the ship between fidds and stan has gotten more popular and I personally don’t ship it but there’s nothing wrong with it it’s a decent ship and people can ship what they want. however. I don’t know if it’s just me but I’ve seen a few people use this pairing to demonize ford. like saying stuff like ‘oh ford was such a terrible person to fiddleford he deserves way better’ and ‘Stan would treat him soooo much better’ and idk. that just really rubs me the wrong way lol. like guys. please.
