gojo satoru x reader summary: you make the strongest sorcerer weak w/c: .54k tags/warnings: domestic fluff with a suggestive ending so 18+, gojo is irrevocably in love with you, the feeling is entirely mutual, gn!reader, no use of y/n a/n: we truly do not deserve him masterlist check out my latest work for gojo here
Tumblr media
there isn't a single sorcerer in all of japan unfamiliar with the name gojo satoru. he's known that since he was old enough to understand the innate techniques etched into his body.
and what a lonely existence it was. being the strongest leaves you with little else besides power.
perhaps that's why he finds himself so utterly consumed by you— the only thing in the world that makes him feel weak.
whenever your eyes find his own, his hands tremble. and whenever you give him that crooked grin, his knees nearly collapse beneath him.
he can't even begin to understand it. how someone like him could be lucky enough to belong to someone like you. he knows that a million lifetimes of effort would still leave him pathetically undeserving.
that's probably the reason he hesitates before entering your shared apartment each night. he wants nothing more than to come home to you, and yet, fear tugs in his heart at the prospect of it all having been some long, drawn out dream.
how else can he explain walking into the kitchen, finding you there covered in flour, looking impossibly beautiful? how else can he account for the way your face lights up upon seeing him?
"hey love," you greet him warmly and your voice feels like the answer to every prayer he's ever had.
his long, strong arms wrap you up in an instant, his face burrowing into your neck.
"hey," he breathes out, the heat fanning across your skin.
"'toru," you warn. "you're going to get flour all over your uniform!"
"s'okay, baby. i don't mind."
it's only when you move to hug him back that he fully relaxes against your body.
"how was your mission?"
he doesn't answer right away, reveling in your comforting embrace for a few seconds longer.
"it was alright," he offers, untangling himself from you and standing back up to his full height. "missed you."
"i missed you, too." you peer up at him, your eyes swimming with adoration. his heart clenches painfully at the sight. "but i made your favorite!"
you turn on the oven light, so he bends down for a glimpse at the pastry that's nearly finished baking.
his expression softens and he grabs your face in his hands, his thumb brushing over your cheekbone delicately. "how can i make you understand how much i adore you?"
despite the heat that creeps up your neck, you let out a breath of a laugh. "'toru it's only a pie."
he hums, "made just for me by my most favorite person in the world."
your lips curl into that lopsided grin he loves so much before you stand on your tiptoes to kiss him. he deepens it, his arms finding your waist and tugging your body towards his own possessively.
after a few moments, he pulls away just enough to plant a kiss to your nose, then your forehead, and finally both of your cheeks, savoring the way you giggle at his show of affection.
"okay, i think i'm starting to understand, but i might need just a little more convincing."
he gazes down at you with a smirk, the look in his eye suddenly mischievous. "yeah? maybe we can make another pie together, princess."
"..'toru!"

Kitchen Altars - Placement Pros and Cons
Tumblr media
For those unaware, an Altar in Witchcraft is a surface where you do most of your magical or spiritual "stuff". It helps you focus your intentions, harness power, and is your general working space. I see a lot of Kitchen Witches making or wanting to make altars to have in their kitchen. It can give them a space to charge items, to leave offerings, to gather energy and power, ect. They may also use it to invite a specific deity or entity into their kitchen. So what or where can be your Altar? Here are some ideas depending on your needs.
The entire Kitchen This is the route I think many traditional Kitchen Witches Take. An altar is meant to be a working space. Your kitchen is like a swiss army knife of working space. If you want your entire kitchen to be your altar, don't be afraid to add things to Up it's magical energy. Kitchen/Cottage Witch Poppets, Decorative Crystals, Important Symbols, hand made garlands, charms, Whatever.
However, the down side to this is: first, It's harder to stay in the broom closet the more you have on display. I am very lucky in that I don't fear any kind of persecution from family, friends, neighbors, ect. But not everyone feels as secure openly practicing. Second, if you are someone who shares a kitchen with many people like roommates or extended family, you may not be able to set up or decorate the kitchen exactly as you want. Additionally, All these extra people coming in an out at different times with different moods can throw off the energy in the space. So having something separate might work better for you.
Counters Probably the most popular place to set up an altar in a kitchen as it's the most obvious. You may want to set aside a small section of your counter and dedicate it to an altar. A shallow wooden box or tray for you to put your altar in may be a good idea. This is because the main downside to having an altar set up on your counter is you lose counter space. Which can be very valuable. So by building your altar on or in a tray allows you to move it temporarily should you need the extra counter space.
Cupboards or Drawers This is a little more broom closet friendly. You can set up an altar in an obscure cupboard shelf or unused drawer, then open it up when you want to use it. Then when not in use, it's closed up out of sight. Since it's closed off, you don't need to worry as much about dust or kitchen grim. However, the downside is your altar is either taking up valuable storage space or it's in an awkward to get to area. Like that corner cupboard that you need to get on a chair in order to reach the back, or that drawer that can only open when you have the oven door open. If it's a pain in the ass to get to, you're less likely to use it.
Kitchen Table If your table is large enough to hold a bowl or basket as a decorative center piece, consider building your altar in that bowl or basket. This tends to be a great option for those with their foot in the broom closet since the altar can be written off as a decorative piece. It's also good in that it doesn't take up work or storage space. And since it's in a basket or other container, you can move it when you need the space.
The downside is for us witches who are a little more...chaotic...in our organization style. Stuff gets dropped on the kitchen table to be dealt with later, only for later to never come. Mail, clothes, documents, drinking glasses; things just get lost in the layers of time. Your altar may end up lost or damaged.
Windowsill Another popular choice for Kitchen Witches who like to grow herbs or plants. They'll set up their foliage by the window and base an altar around that. Space tends to be a bit limited in these cases, so make sure any additions are small. Also be carful when setting up crystals in your windowsill. While sunlight is great for plants, it can be harmful for some popular crystals like Amethyst and fade the color.
Also, pay attention to how your window opens. If you want to open the window and it slides, or you need to crank a handle, you don't want anything to block the window from opening. And on the flip side, you don't want to damage your altar items if opening the window causes them to fall.
Shelves Specifically shelves that are separate from the kitchen cupboards. You may want to install a floating shelf or just get a corner shelf stand. You can build your altar on one (or all) of the shelf surfaces. It's great as it can be set out of the way but still in an area that's convenient to get to.
The downside tends to be cost and installation. Floating shelves tend to be cheaper than a standing corner shelf. You can find some nice wooden floating shelves at second hand stores or flea markets for anywhere between 10 to 60 dollars. But when you install them, you want to make sure you drill part of it into a wall stud. This helps stop them from falling down. This is assuming you CAN drill into a wall, as many rental agreements don't allow you to put holes in walls. A small, standing shelf is a good alternative and renter friendly. However, you tend to need to buy these new and can cost several hundred dollars. If you or someone you know are good with carpentry, maybe you can build a custom shelf. But new wood is still very expensive.
Fridge Close the fridge, we're not putting it inside. I mean you can; but that might be messy. Most fridges have at lest 1 magnetic surface. And did you know there are a lot of things you can get with magnets attached? Magnetic Jars or Containers, Magnetic shelves, Magnetic hooks- Not to mention the plethora of decorative magnets. I've seen tarot card magnets, moon phase magnets, Astrology magnets, ect. You can arrange your fridge to be a vertical altar.
The downside here being most of these items will probably be bought online, and the quality of the magnetism can vary. Make sure you read reviews and make sure something won't just fall off one day. And avoid pushing the strength of things like Magnetic shelves by loading them up with heavy objects. Another downside may be your fridge doesn't have a magnetic side exposed. Stainless steel fridges tend to not be magnetic on the front. Something about the metal used. They are magnetic on the sides, but if your fridge doesn't have exposed sides due to placement, you may be SOL for a fridge altar.
Outside the Kitchen Lastly, remember that just because you practice kitchen magic, doesn't mean you need to restrict yourself to the kitchen. Kitchen witches are allowed to practice other kinds of magic in addition to kitchen magic. You may want an altar for these situations. So set one up in the living room, dining room, bedroom, backyard, bathroom, wherever works for you. And if it doesn't work for you, don't be afraid to move it!

The residents of Thelma’s Grove were an eclectic bunch. A small community tucked just outside the city—modest homes perched along the street that led back to the highway. It was the type of place you didn’t know was there until you were in it.
That suited the residents fine. The hustle of the city and its traffic and crowds was what led everyone to Thelma’s Grove. It provided serenity, privacy, and above all, secrecy.
They were an eclectic lot indeed—beekeepers, a preschool teacher, a few single parents, and their children. But the woman who lived in the little white house with the sage-colored door was the most secretive.
You were kind—incredibly so—a wonderful neighbor. Everyone in Thelma’s Grove knew one another from where they were before to what they did, so when you arrived with your trunks, plants, and a lovebird, the street was abuzz.
They suspected something was different about you when you told one of your neighbors to take his dog to the vet. He had given you a funny look at first, but you made up an excuse, saying your friend's dog had similar symptoms. A day later, he was at your front door thanking you.
It grew from there. Your neighbors trusted your “instincts” more—that’s what they called them anyway. If someone had trouble with headaches, sleeping, anxiety—you name it—you’d give them a concoction of your making.
It wasn’t until the woman across the road broke her leg that the word “witch” attached itself to you.
You had thought you heard a scream. When the man who lived beside her looked up from his weeding, you knew it was real.
You rushed to her door, unlocking it with a flick of your wrist, and found her at the bottom of her stairs.
Her leg was bent at an odd angle as she lay on the floor, sobbing.
“It’s alright. I’m going to help you,” you said.
Searching around, you grabbed the hand towel hanging from the oven, folded it, and held it to her mouth.
“You need to bite down on this.”
She did as you said, too in pain to register what you were saying or doing.
You moved to her feet, kneeling above her.
“This will hurt, but you’ll be fine once I’m done.”
You didn’t hesitate as you grasped her behind her knee and ankle, straightening it. The scream she let out was muffled by the towel, but you didn’t let it phase you as you aligned her leg.
You muttered to yourself, a language lost in time. Beneath your fingers, the muscles and tissue reconnected. And your neighbor's cries slowly ebbed.
You shifted to sit and pulled the towel from her mouth.
“How does it feel now?” you asked, wiping the tears from her face.
She sniffled and looked at you with a mixture of wonder and confusion.
“Better,” she whispered, hoarse.
You gave her a small smile. “Good.”
You later found out the man had witnessed the whole thing. And between him and her, they had told the entire community what you did.
It all made sense after that. Your “instincts” were really magic. You knew the dog was sick because you spoke to her. Your concoctions were healing potions. And that little bird of yours was your familiar.
Yes, Thelma’s Grove was full of an eclectic bunch, indeed.
You were tending to your greenhouse in the backyard. It wasn’t much, no bigger than a shed, but it held life in every square inch. Planters lined the three walls with large terracotta pots on the floor below and other plants hanging from above.
You had finished watering the elderberry tree when Hope flew in.
“Come quickly! Someone needs you,” she said, zipping away when you started to follow.
The cries hit you before you saw who made them.
Hope landed beside a raven whose wing was unfurled and lay limp in the grass.
“It’s alright now. She will heal you,” Hope reassured.
You kneeled slowly, hands raised, so you didn’t startle the poor creature.
“Let me see,” you said, cupping the wing from underneath.
The bird yelped.
“I know,” you hushed. “I know.”
You rested your other hand over the wing, the lost language passing through your lips until the limb was healed.
The bird hiccupped but tentatively moved to test if the pain was gone.
When no zap occurred, the bird hopped closer and bowed its head.
“Thank you! Thank you!” he cried.
“There’s no need for that. I’m just happy you’re okay,” you said.
“I’m more than okay! You fixed my wing!”
You giggled. “What’s your name?”
“Matthew, my lady.” He bowed again.
You shook your head and told him your name and Hope’s. “No need for that. Why don’t you come in and rest?” You held out your finger, and he hopped on.
Hope flew in before you and perched on the back of a barstool as you set Matthew down on the counter.
“So, what exactly happened?” you asked.
He looked down as if embarrassed. “I was running an errand. And…may have gotten distracted.”
Your brow furrowed. “Distracted?”
Only when you caught his tiny eyes glancing at Hope did you understand.
You hummed. “Well, I guess it doesn’t matter. As long as you’re alright now.”
“I am!” He jumped at the subject change. “Never better.”
“Good.” You nodded. Then after considering what he said, you asked, “Who were you running an errand for?”
You knew most, if not all, of the witches in the area. You couldn’t remember any of them having a raven as a familiar. And even if one did, it wouldn’t explain the odd sensation this bird carried. Like…well, it reminded you of the lost language—ancient and powerful.
“The King of Dreams,” he said.
Your eyes narrowed in confusion. The King of Dreams? As in, not a witch?
Matthew shifted from foot to foot, getting the sense this was news to you.
“Are you…Are you not a goddess or something?” he asked.
You pulled back in surprise. “No. No, I’m definitely not.”
“Oh.” He dragged out, coming to a realization. “So, what are you?”
“A witch,” you said blankly, glancing at Hope, whose head was tilted. At least she was just as lost as you.
“Wait. Witches are real?” he asked.
“And apparently, so are gods,” you breathed, laughing in disbelief.
Yes, you were a witch. And yes, you thought of your gifts from the goddesses Hecate and Circe, but to have confirmation that the God of Dreams was real? It was almost too much.
You shook your head slightly to clear it.
“Morpheus is a little more than a god, per se,” Matthew said. “It’s…It’s kinda complicated. And thinking about it gives me a headache.”
You waved a hand. “We’ll save it for a rainy day then.”
Matthew had stayed a few more hours, asking questions about your powers and nearly preening when Hope wanted to know more about him.
You were exhausted by the time you crawled into bed. And sleep took you quickly.
The man before you wasn’t familiar. His porcelain complexion and onyx hair contrasted sharply but in an entirely transfixing way. He seemed larger than he was, possessing this energy that encompassed everything around him.
This feeling wasn’t new. You experienced it before…
The raven. Matthew.
This was Morpheus.
“You know me,” Morpheus spoke first, deep and honey-rich.
It was less a statement and more a question, making sure you knew who stood before you.
“Yes,” you said.
A breeze rustled the grass, and the distinct smell of citrus floated upward, but you couldn’t place where it came from. There were no orange trees here.
“It’s in the field,” he said. “I thought it would make you comfortable.”
You smiled at the images it conjured.
Hours upon hours of running through your grandmother’s orange grove. She was the one who first taught you about your heritage. Her skills had laid in plants. She knew everything there was to know. No one could brew a potion like her or heal an ailment quicker. You were happy she saw some talent in you.
“How is Matthew?” You looked back to him, coming out of your memories.
“As if nothing happened.” Morpheus had gotten closer. Or the stretch of green between you had shortened. You supposed it didn’t matter.
“Good,” you breathed, reaching to play with your pendant.
“I wanted to thank you for your aid,” he said.
You shook your head. “That’s not necessary. I’m just happy he’s alright.”
The corner of his mouth ticked up, but it was gone so fast you thought you imagined it.
“He’s spoken quite fondly of you.” He turned to the side, hands in his pockets, and you knew he wanted to walk with you. “And your familiar.”
“Hope,” you said, biting your lip at how Matthew had acted around the lovebird. “I think he has a little crush.”
“I think he’s fallen in love.”
You looked up, surprised at the slight tease in his tone. You never expected someone of his position to joke so readily. Then again, you hadn’t met anyone of his caliber before.
He led you to a pond with water so clear you could see the fish below. A dolphin-sized koi fish swam with half-fish half-cat creatures and so many others you weren’t sure how they all fit.
Morpheus sat on a bench, waiting for you to do the same.
“You are different from the witches I’ve encountered,” he said, regarding you with curiosity.
“How so?”
“You are kind.”
He said it as if it were foreign. Like he hadn’t seen kindness in eons. And, maybe, he’d seen so much that all of the bad had clouded the good.
You opened your mouth, unsure how to respond, then began slowly. “My grandmother used to tell me, ‘Do not put into the world what you do not wish back.’ She said it was the only lesson she wanted me to master.”
“Your grandmother was wise.”
“Yeah, she was.” You smiled softly, watching as willow trees dipped their leaves into the pond. “Is it always this peaceful?”
He stared ahead as if seeing something other than what was in front of him.
“It hadn’t been for some time,” he said. “All is well now.”
You hummed in thought. “‘The only thing that is eternal is hope.’ Another thing she used to say.”
“Is that the origin of your familiar’s name?” His eyes were soft, an endless galaxy on a warm summer’s night.
“She came to me the day my grandmother passed. I thought it was fitting.” You shrugged.
Everyone who had known your grandmother attended her celebration of life—family members, friends, patients—it made you cry harder knowing she was so loved.
You had walked away from the group for a moment to yourself—for a moment of grief and remembrance—when this beautiful little bird landed in your path.
She gazed at you with an intelligence unlike the animals you often healed, and you felt the connection bridge between you and her. And the name came to you when the last piece fell into place. Your utterance of “Hope” solidified your bond.
“My brother was with you that day.”
Your brow furrowed. “Your brother?”
“Destiny,” he said.
You let out a small laugh. “Yes, I suppose he was.”
Conversation flowed easily between you two. Though Morpheus didn’t say much, he was insightful and intelligent, and he listened with keen attention that made you almost shy. He controlled every speck of dirt and beam of light around you yet held an interest in you.
When you felt the tug of consciousness, you couldn’t believe how quickly time had passed. You could have sworn you only arrived in the Dreaming a few minutes ago. But you woke to the sunrays filtering through your curtains.
In the following days, you scoured every source you could think of for information on Morpheus. There were Greek myths, but your search grew more fruitful when you stumbled across an ancient tomb in one of your grandmother’s chests.
She taught you about destiny—how it influenced you and how you influenced it—so to see it written in her delicate scrawl wasn’t unusual. But when it changed to capital-D "Destiny," you shifted your tactics. It led you to the beginning.
Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium.
Personifications of otherwise intangible consciousnesses—all more powerful than any god or goddess you could think of.
And you had unknowingly saved one of their emissaries.
You had spoken to one of them.
You felt the vastness of his power by simply looking at him—it both terrified and thrilled you.
Dream. The perfect name for a creature so enthralling.
Mere days passed before Matthew appeared in your garden once again. You only noticed when you heard Hope speaking to someone, and his voice carried into the greenhouse. You thought it best to give them their privacy.
You could feel Morpheus’ presence through the raven even from here. It was stronger than last time, but you assumed that was because of Matthew’s injury.
And when it moved closer, you paid it no mind, thinking Matthew and Hope were joining you. It only occurred to you that their voices had stayed the same volume when the energy was standing in the doorway.
You glanced over your shoulder, eyes jumping in surprise.
“Good morning.”
“Morpheus,” you said. “I…What are you doing here?”
“Matthew wished to visit Hope,” he said, stepping forward, hands behind his back. He scanned over the pots of flowers and herbs, trailing from the one at your fingertips, up your arms, to meet your eyes. “I wished to visit you.”
You bit your lip lightly, glancing down then back. “Well then, how about a cup of tea?”
He nodded once, letting you lead the way.
You moved to Thelma’s Grove because something pulled you toward it after your grandmother died. You found a home in the community. People who would protect you and who you’d protect in return. It didn’t matter if you had lived here for twenty years or visited for a few hours. Once you found this little corner of the world, you were part of it forever.
And you hoped the same could be said of the Endless behind you.

#JustLanHikariThings
a few of my favorite Lan things (gameverse)
General:
The way this kid gave 0 fucks about fighting off evil organizations that could KILL people. Even impulse control Megaman is just like, “Yeah Lan let’s show them who’s boss!”
His response to anyone doing bad things is essentially, “You’re a terrible person and I’m gonna stop you.” And then he stops them!
Literally oversleeping like every day despite Megaman literally yelling at him to wake up (king tbh)
Trespasses practically everywhere because his loved ones were put in harm’s way and anyone who messes with Lan Hikari’s loved ones will catch MEGA’S HANDS
Chaud in almost every BN game: Stay in your lane and let the Officials handle this
Lan: How about I don’t?
MMBN:
Literally decided to take on a crime syndicate without an official NetBattler license because fuck you it’s the right thing to do!
Fought off actual flames coming out of his oven with a squirt gun
Stole his dad’s government ID so he can have access to the water plant in order to confront said crime syndicate
He reformed Higsby just by telling him joining WWW for rare battlechips was dumb
Got freaking electrocuted trying to pull down a lever so Elecman would quit healing himself
After finding out his dead twin was really his Navi all along his first response is to apologize to Megaman for bossing him around for literal years
Mayl essentially tells him she has a crush on him and the poor oblivious boy is just absolutely DUMBFOUNDED
After Wiley told him that Lan’s grandpa beat him in a science contest so now he wants to kill everyone Lan basically called his shitty motive out and said Wiley’s loss wasn’t his family’s fault
MMBN2:
Practically failing a semester (or at most has a C average) except for Virus Busting (THIS KID BECOMES A SCIENTIST WHEN HE GROWS UP)
He wanted to research a different country and get a penpal from said country on the grounds that he wanted to eat their food (KING TBH)
Fought off a swarm of bees with a stick, a newspaper, and a lighter with 0 help from his friends
His first time overseas and he gets mugged....3 times
Keeps saying Mayl is “just a friend” but will have romantic dreams about her
Volunteered to captured a poisonous spider with 0 hesitation because he’s Lan Fucking Hikari
Freestyle rapped in order to get whiskey...yes really
Easily convinced his dad to let him go to a town with lethally high levels of radiation to take down a mafia because fuck you he’s Lan Hikari and this is the right thing to do
Managed to survive 100k radiation
Used the power of brotherly love to operate Megaman with his heart
MMBN3:
STOLE THE KEY TO BREAK INTO HIS SCHOOL (it was to make sure Dex didn’t fail his homework but still the AUDACITY)
Fucking Y E E T S his navi like a fucking POKEBALL at a man
He’s apparently good at calligraphy???
Falls for the, “Hey look over there!” trick
Jumps from a 2nd story window into the ocean in order to reach a hospital’s basement because he’s Lan Fucking Hikari
Caught a condor to return to the zoo
Calls Megaman out for being reckless on obtaining the GigFreeze even though the entire list proves that this gremlin has no room to talk
Gets gunned down by a tank with a built in machine gun and just...side steps it so he can jack into it
FUCKING KICKED A STATUE OF WILY OFF A LEDGE I FUCKING STAN HIM
MMBN4:
Can’t enter an area because it’s not open to the public? TRIES TO HAVE HIS NAVI BLAST IT OPEN!
An employee from said area shows up? HAVE YOUR NAVI KICK HIS ASS THEN TAKE HIS ACCESS CODE
NetBattled a gang because his new punk friend needed help
Gets involved with a mafia….again…
GETS HIMSELF FUCKING KIDNAPPED LAN NEVER GO TO NETOPIA EVER AGAIN
Got goaded into putting his hand in some wall relic thing’s mouth (with a slight risk it’ll be bit off) in order to prove he wasn’t lying about being in a tournament
Had Mega take on a soccer (I’m sorry, “footbomb”) challenge because some rando trash talked them
Swore revenge on an actual military official because he punched Lan in the stomach
CONVINCED AN ACTUAL MILITARY BASE TO LET HIM--AN ACTUAL 12 YEAR OLD--TAKE ON AN ACTUAL MILITARY MISSION
Insulted a master chef by saying his mom’s curry was better
ACCEPTED A CURRY COOKING CHALLENGE EVEN THOUGH HE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO MAKE CURRY
WON SAID CURRY COMPETITION BY USING LOVE AS A SECRET INGREDIENT
KNOCKED THE FUCKING MAYOR ASIDE WHEN HE GOT IN HIS WAY BECAUSE HE HAD TO STOP AN ECOTERRORISM PLAN AND THAT’S HOW LAN FUCKING HIKARI ROLLS
Had Megaman get some cyber beer and cyber jerky so they could learn how to break rocks...I wish I was making this up
Braved a blizzard and almost froze to death so he could stop some asshole from freezing the entire earth (and this ISN’T PART OF THE GAME’S ACTUAL VILLAIN’S PLOT! THE GUY WAS LITERALLY JUST BEING AN ASSHOLE BECAUSE HE WAS HOT!)
MMBN5:
Literally kept the fact he’s a part of the NetAvengers a secret from his mom and friends until almost the last minute, which wasn’t very hard apparently
Like deliberately disobeyed his mom about being safe because if you think Lan Fucking Hikari isn’t going to find a way to save his own dad you got another thing coming
Was initially refusing to listen to Dusk’s demands to show off his and Mega’s battle capabilities, but agreed after he was called a wimp
Called the actual family dog ugly fdjksfldjs
Took down 100 dummy samurais so he could bypass a castle’s security system
Unfortunately not a whole lot of other moments but that’s because Lan’s chaotic nature is challenged by his equally chaotic teammates:
#JustTeamProtomanThings
Chaud fakes an attack on SciLab so he can see if Lan has what it takes to be part of the NetAvengers (because saving the world 4 times just doesn’t really cut it I guess...)
Tesla literally almost killed 3 children because she was stressed and thought drilling in an abandoned mine would do the trick
Charlie decides to cause problems on purpose just to test Lan’s capabilities and CHAUD WAS IN ON IT
Charlie also took out Nebula’s evil server thing but decided to attack Lan and Mega anyway because he just really wanted a rematch I guess
Fyrefox almost got away with theft because he just REALLY wanted his fireworks business to thrive okay?
Jasmine said fuck your precautions I’m going to the Undernet and there’s nothing anyone can do about it!
She also continues to say fuck authority, and if Lan won’t have the balls to go after Nebula then she and Meddy will!
#JustTeamColonelThings
Baryl--like Chaud--fakes an attack on Scilab to test lan and the entire time Lan is just like WHO ARE YOU?
Dusk also causes problems on purpose for the sake of testing Lan but he’s an assassin so that kinda makes sense for him
Ribitta goes to the Undernet because SHE NEEDS TO MAKE A KILLER NEWS STORY LAN THINK OF HER CAREER LAN
Goes to the Undernet again because dammit Lan if you won’t be a leader and avenge Colonel then SHE WILL
MMBN6:
Was prepared to fight off 5 security bots when they wouldn’t let him into his new school
Was willing to take on those same security bots who were burning the entire school down because this isn’t Lan Fucking Hikari’s first rodeo
Considered that an actual penguin could be a pelican...
Would have jumped into a pool full of jellyfish had impulse control Megaman not stopped him
Almost got fucking TAZED because he was yelling and touching a tree (IT MAKES SENSE IN CONTEXT....KINDA)
Sleeps in class when there are security cameras watching him (THIS KID BECOMES A SCIENTIST WHEN HE GROWS UP)
Tried to pull a Mary Poppins with an umbrella to jump down a tall ledge...the umbrella broke
Basically took an assassination class... (Gregor version)
Nearly threw hands with the mayor (he had it coming tho)
Took down a NetMafia...again (request post-game; but for real how does this keep happening to him???)
Put off leaving a building that was about to blow up because he was reforming the franchise’s long running villain

@lambfated inquired: diet: what does my muse eat most within their setting? For the merfolk - Accepting
Tumblr media
(( Merfolk are hypercarnivorous megafaunal predators, so mostly any meat they can get their hands on!
They really aren’t picky with their meat either. They are, overall, most adapted for whales, so a significant chunk of their diet is going to be marine mammals. Think whales, seals, otters, etc. Merfolk are very capable hunters, and while their agriculture is very different from ours and more heavily prioritizes what are effectively “food forests”, they are very capable of producing large amounts of marine mammal meat for their populations to enjoy.
However, they’re far from turning up their nose at fish either, and will likewise farm huge amounts of various prey species for use as a staple meat. Invertebrates like lobster, crab, snails, clams, oysters, jellyfish, squid, octopi, shrimp, worms, starfish, sea urchins, and more are also farmed on an even wider scale — as most merfolk settlements also function as an extension of the environment around them, and thus more passively encourage food species to make up residence around and in merfolk homes.
Likewise, they also won’t protest at eating sessile animals either, like coral, sea lillies, anemones, sponges, and so on, though these will seldom be treated as the centerpieces of meals, instead being used in the cooking process or utilized to flavor other meats.
Very rarely merfolk will eat algae, and while they technically each kelp and seaweed and other plants, these are more often used as flavorless wrappings and packaging for other food to prevent it from falling apart, usually with the most taste being soaked up from everything else its served with.
Merfolk, being fairly advanced and having a wide food culture, also believe in utilizing many different ways to prepare their meals.
The most common of this is fermentation — either chemically pickling meats to be eaten later, or just outright leaving it alone before preparing it for a while. Merfolk do have a tendency to eat what we might define as rotten food, though for them the process is far more detailed than merely letting something rot, as they will pick the best conditions and often grow and keep their own bacterial soup and decomposers to better flavor the meat how they want. To them, it brings out the flavor, as well as makes it more fragrant, which is an important aspect to merfolk cuisine.
While most of their foods are eaten raw and merfolk are perfectly capable of eating raw meat, they also have various chemical processes they can induce that will produce heat, thus cooking their meals, and some merfolk even have proper “ovens” of their own make, to better sear and heat their food.
The wrapping and packaging of kelp and seaweed can also be used to produce semi-liquid meals, keeping it separate from the ocean surrounding them, so that the contents are only dispelled within the mouth.
Merfolk also have a lot of bones in their cuisine. Even those species of merfolk who aren’t true bone-crushers will still include bone marrow as a staple food, and merfolk chronically crave calcium. They will grind shells into their meals, place in bone chips, include heaping helpings of bone marrow, and will even chew on coral and cuttlebones to help satiate their calcium cravings.
Royals like Miranda would have an even more varied diet than this, as its a show of power to them to have grand feasts and to keep their guests well-fed. They will often go out of their way to have elaborate showpieces and rare foods and meats, and are often the ones most interested in importing landfolk foods to sit at their banquet halls. It’s not uncommon to see an entire whale head on display at one of their gatherings, and for a royal of Miranda’s position, they might even have whole whales or whole leviathans that guests are encouraged to swim through to pick out the best cuts.
The royals are also very interested in importing alcohol from the surface, and it’s become somewhat of a fad amongst them, as they enjoy placing whole eels or sea snakes inside their alcohol alongside chunks of other assorted meat and shells to flavor it. They will include cultivated glowing bacterial cultures of every color within their meals and foods, as a fun way of dressing it up without necessarily adding flavor, and this is major trend among the alcohol they import.
Royals also have access to meat cultures, which is effectively their version of printed meat, which they will use to produce “fancy” meat that can’t be obtained any other way, such as from rare or extinct species, or even from other living royals.
However, Miranda herself doesn’t exactly join in on this long and time-honored tradition of merfolk and their great love of food.
She seldom eats anything flavored when she does and often will avoid it as much as possible. More often, Miranda will eat landfolk “liquid meals”, and she will eat rarely, often having far less meat in her diet than any other merfolk. More often, Miranda will stave off meals entirely, going on hunger strikes and refusing to eat.
This produces somewhat of a problem, being as food serves such an important social function for merfolk, and it’s incredibly rude as a royal to refuse to eat someone else’s food, which is why Miranda has her eating serfs, who will eat in her place. It’s not a normal situation, no, but that way no one can accuse her of shirking them by refusing to eat a meal they’ve given her, and she’s not excluded from the social activity of meals, which is important for her duties as a royal. It also helps prevent someone from publicly accusing her of poor health or that something is wrong with her, an accusation that isn’t to be taken lightly as Crown Princess, as she is still seen at mealtimes and participating in it.
However, on land, the eating serfs become a lot more conspicuous, and she just really, really doesn’t want to discuss the issue. Not on land, not within the Merkingdom.

Cooking in Style: Trendy Kitchen Remodeling Tips for a Modern Makeover
Tumblr media
In the heart of every home, the kitchen stands as a space where families gather, meals are prepared, and memories are created. A stylish and modern kitchen not only enhances the overall aesthetics of your home but also elevates the culinary experience. If you're considering a kitchen makeover, here are some trendy remodeling tips to bring your cooking space into the contemporary era.
1. Open Concept Design: Embrace the trend of open-concept kitchens that seamlessly integrate with the rest of your living space. Knock down unnecessary walls to create a spacious and inviting atmosphere. This not only promotes better communication but also allows natural light to flood the area, making it a brighter and more welcoming space.
2. Sleek and Functional Cabinetry: Opt for sleek, handle-less cabinets to achieve a minimalist and modern look. High-gloss finishes in neutral tones like white, gray, or black add a touch of sophistication. Consider deep drawers and pull-out shelves for convenient storage, keeping your kitchen clutter-free and organized. For expert advice on cabinetry, contact Sunnylea Homes, your go-to partner for elegant and functional kitchen solutions.
3. Smart Appliances: Infuse technology into your kitchen with smart appliances that make cooking a breeze. From smart refrigerators to Wi-Fi-enabled ovens, these innovations not only add a futuristic touch but also enhance efficiency. Imagine preheating your oven on your way home or checking the contents of your fridge from your smartphone. Stay ahead of the curve with the latest kitchen gadgets to make your culinary experience truly cutting-edge.
4. Quartz Countertops: Say goodbye to traditional granite and welcome the elegance of quartz countertops. Durable, low-maintenance, and available in a variety of colors and patterns, quartz adds a touch of luxury to your kitchen. Its non-porous nature makes it resistant to stains, ensuring your countertops stay pristine even after the messiest cooking sessions.
5. Statement Lighting: The entire atmosphere of your kitchen can be changed by the lighting. Incorporate statement pendant lights or chic chandeliers above the kitchen island to create a focal point. Choose fixtures that complement your overall design aesthetic and provide ample task lighting for cooking. A well-lit kitchen not only looks stunning but also ensures a functional and safe cooking environment.
6. Bold Backsplashes: Use a striking backsplash to create a statement. Subway tiles are timeless, but consider experimenting with geometric patterns, vibrant colors, or even textured materials like marble or metal. A striking backsplash not only protects your walls from splatters but also adds a touch of personality to your kitchen.
7. Mixed Materials: Embrace the trend of mixing different materials for a visually dynamic kitchen. Combine wood, metal, and glass elements to create a harmonious blend of textures. From wooden flooring to stainless steel appliances and glass-fronted cabinets, the juxtaposition of materials adds depth and character to your kitchen space.
8. Functional Islands: A kitchen island is not just a countertop; it's a multifunctional space that can serve as a prep area, dining table, or even a home office. Choose a design that complements your kitchen layout and provides additional storage. An island with built-in power outlets can also serve as a charging station for your gadgets, making it a truly versatile centerpiece.
9. Natural Elements: Incorporate natural elements into your kitchen design to bring the outside inside. Consider adding potted plants, herb gardens, or even a small indoor waterfall for a refreshing touch. Natural materials like wood and stone contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere, creating a perfect balance with the sleek and modern features.
10. Personalized Touches: Finally, infuse your personality into the kitchen design with personalized touches. Display your favorite cookbooks, incorporate family photos, or add unique artwork to create a space that reflects your style. A well-designed kitchen is not just about following trends; it's about creating a space that feels like home.
Embark on your kitchen remodeling journey with these trendy tips, and transform your cooking space into a stylish haven where functionality meets aesthetics. Turmeric:
"Haldi" in Hindi, turmeric is a bright yellow spice with many positive health effects. Curcumin, a chemical found in turmeric, is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Turmeric is extensively used in Indian cooking not just for its earthy flavour but also for its warm golden colour. In meals like curry, rice, lentil soup, and pickles, it is an essential ingredient. Cooking with turmeric not only improves the flavour but also adds nutritional value to anything you're preparing.
Chilli Powder:
"Mirch" (Hindi for "chilli powder") is a hot spice commonly used in Indian cooking. It is prepared from dried chilli peppers and, depending on the type of peppers used, can be either mild or rather fiery. In many dishes, including curries, marinades, and spice mixes, chilli powder plays a crucial role. It adds a robust and spicy flavour while also colouring the food a brilliant red. Be sparing with it so you can control the heat to your liking.
Cumin:
Popular in Indian cooking, cumin (known as "jeera" in Hindi) adds a toasty, nutty flavour to food. Its entire and ground forms are equally popular. Before being added to a meal, cumin seeds are often roasted in the oven or tempered in hot oil to release their fragrant oils. Numerous rice and lentil cuisines, as well as spice combinations like garam masala, rely heavily on cumin. Its unique flavour profile enhances the richness of many Indian dishes.
Coriander:
Often referred to as "dhania" in Hindi, coriander is a popular spice in Indian cuisine. The fresh leaves (cilantro) and the seeds are both used for their flavour. Fresh coriander leaves give a reviving, herbaceous flavour, while coriander seeds have a warm, lemony, and somewhat nutty flavour. Spice blends, curries, and chutneys often feature ground coriander as an ingredient. The leaves add a fresh, vibrant flavour to dishes like salads, chutneys, and marinades.
Cardamom:
Cardamom, known as "elaichi" in Hindi, is an aromatic spice that has a mildly sweet and flowery flavour. The most common colours are green and black. Green cardamom pods are a common ingredient in chai tea, sweet Indian curries, and other delicacies. The black variety is used in spice mixes, savoury curries, and rice dishes due to its robust smoky flavour. Cardamom's invigorating aroma and flavour are a welcome addition to whatever dish you're preparing. Are you looking for an excellent Indian spice manufacturer who can fulfil your flavourful and aromatic spice needs? Look no further than Spyran.
Mustard Seeds:
Tiny black or yellow seeds with a powerful flavour, mustard seeds are called "rai" or "Sarson" in Hindi. When toasted in oil, they give out a strong, nutty scent. Indian pickles, spice mixes, and vegetable meals all benefit greatly from the use of mustard seeds. They can be used either whole or powdered. Mustard seeds add a delicious blast of flavour to any food with their distinct tang and spice.
Fenugreek:
The bittersweet flavour of fenugreek, or "methi" in Hindi, is what sets it apart from other herbs. Indian cuisine makes use of both the leaves and the seeds of this plant. Methi paratha (a type of flatbread) and methi paneer (a type of cottage cheese curry) both benefit from the unique flavour of fenugreek leaves. Because of their potency, the seeds are typically roasted and ground before being used in spice blends or curries. Fenugreek is a great spice to use while making lentils, vegetables, and curries.
Garam Masala:
The aromatic spice blend known as garam masala is a staple in Indian cooking. Spices including cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cumin, and black pepper are often included in the mix. Curry, rice, and stew all benefit from the addition of garam masala because of the spice's savoury, rich flavour. It can be added to a dish either during the cooking process or as a final garnish to bring out more of the natural taste. Garam masala's aromatic blend of spices is sure to improve any dish you prepare.
Asafoetida:
Asafoetida, or "hing" in Hindi, is a pungent and flavourful spice that is typically reserved for occasional use in Indian cuisine. It smells strongly like garlic and onions. During the tempering process, asafoetida is frequently added to the hot oil or ghee to unleash its aromas. Lentil meals, vegetable curries, and pickles all benefit from its inclusion. Asafoetida has a pungent odour, yet even a small amount of it adds a distinctive umami flavour that makes the dish better overall.
Cinnamon:
Indian food benefits greatly from the use of cinnamon, which is called "dalchini" in Hindi. It can be purchased in both stick and ground form and is made from the inner bark of cinnamon trees. Kheer (rice pudding), gulab jamun (milk dumplings) and gajar ka halwa (carrot halwa) all have cinnamon as an essential ingredient. It is also frequently used in biryanis and savoury curries, as well as spice blends. Cinnamon's warm, inviting aroma and subtle spiciness make it an indispensable ingredient in cooking.
