She'd taken two after getting off work the night before. Then three more early this morning...

She was screwed. Well. Been there done that and apparently there was a lovely little additional prize. It wasn't that she didn't want to have kids. She did eventually. She already had one baby girl and that was handful enough at the moment and that was with Laura AND Derek's help. Derek. Shit.

Derek and Nina had been...close since she'd found out she was pregnant with Regan. Peter had run off and left her with only her friends family? pack for support. The two had grown close over the last year and may or may not have helped each other scratch some itches at times. Being pregnant again had not been one of them. And they'd only JUST decided to stop that altogether. How was she going to tell him?

Glancing at the clock she muttered another few curses before quickly throwing on a change of clothes ( she'd gone to the pharmacy in her joggers ) . Next she woke up Regan and began to get her ready. They were supposed to be at Laura and Derek's in less than an hour for breakfast this morning. Thankfully it was a good morning and it didn't take too long to pack up Regan and her bag.

She spent the whole car ride over worrying. In her rush, Nina didn't realize till she was knocking on the door that they were actually a good ten minutes early. Well at least she'd managed to pull herself out of bed this morning at all with how she was feeling.

shall write up in full pages with biographies etc later on but i decided there will be a few "vessels" so to speak of mira, whether cognizant of that fact or not, and whether that even manifests into something supernatural or just Being Weird, will be depending on the person. the three i have, essentially three different verses which can be worked into any timeline/setting, are as follows (for now, tbd if i'll add more!)

mirabel dahl, utterly human in every way. mirabel has no visions, sees no odd shadows in the halls. she is only, to put it simply, a little strange. obsessed with the macabre and repulsive, she practices taxidermy and collects/displays deceased bugs. she is obsessive in the few dynamics she might have. though it is not a rule for this verse, it may often be the case she would go so far as to kill those she is attached to – not, perhaps, out of anger or ill-will, but entirely out of obsession and adoration. takes inspiration from may (2002). fc: angela bettis

nina bassett, a vagabond god. not entirely understanding of her origins, perhaps, but nina is undeniably a vessel of namira. she becomes obsessed with her, devoted to her, perhaps depending on the intensity of the supernatural in this verse she begins aspiring towards ascension and gains some of mira's original godly abilities. in a more grounded, human verse, it would be just absolute obsession with the idea that there's something in her and that, even if she can't place the name, it is something divine. would take a lot of inspiration in a twisted way from saint maud. fc: tbd!

mary rafferty, utterly human in every way, and, as luck would have it, a cannibal. no divine connection that she's aware of, though perhaps her consumption can be religious in a way. she is, again, the odd girl who comes across at best adorkably awkward and at worst a complete mess. hides the fact she is a cannibal, likely so hungry and greedy for it that she would not care whether she is eating a fresh kill or old meat. i think she'd likely work at a morgue (sorry, ew, i know – yes she eats some of the bodies.) – this one takes a lot of inspiration from audition (1999) though i say this loosely. fc: garance marillier

my current wips generally take priority, but i’m always down to just chat about everything here. i’m also a rlly big pushover and easily convinced to write things, lol, so do with that what you will. obligatory disclaimer that there’s no guarantee i’ll write anything here, and if i stop being interested in a concept i’ll delete it.

soulmarks- au where people get to choose soulmates, and they can be unrequited. once you choose someone, a mark appears on the first place they touched you, like a tattoo, that represents them. if they choose you back, same thing. ik that destroys the idea of soulmates but i like the idea of the gangsey choosing to be bound to each other.

pynch mind reading- after cabeswater possesses adam, either he can hear ronan’s thoughts or ronan can hear adam’s, or both. then they fall in love, or something.

Piper normally didn’t take this bus route, and given the inconvenience it had caused her, she was thankful that she didn’t. Still, she knew she should be thankful that there was a way to get home at all at this point in the morning. The LA transit usually didn’t start running multiple buses on a route until a little later in the morning when the rush hour really started, so the fact that she wouldn’t have to wait long for the next one to show up was really a miracle. So, she should at least be thankful for that.

Although, she would have been more thankful if the Los Angeles metro had told her that her train was going to be under maintenance this morning in the first place, instead of making her walk all the way to the station, only to find out that that line wasn’t even running today. 

Sometimes, she really just wished she just had a car. But insurance was expensive and gas was as well, so, in the meantime, she was going to have to put up with the inconsistencies and inconvenience of public transit. 

It had been the same stop she’d used to get home on the nights Lou didn’t drop her off, but instead dismissed her after they reached KWLA and left her on her own. Although, it hadn’t even really occurred to her that the stop was directly in front of KWLA until she’d reached it. Those short walks in the lonely dark of newly dawning morning always made the trip feel much longer than it was, paired with the prickling of anxiety that left her exhausted by time the bus arrived, ultimately making her feel more like she’d run a half a dozen blocks instead of merely walking from the parking lot. 

Piper began to do the best she could to distract herself until the bus arrived, trying not to take much notice of the building behind her. She busied herself with trying to scrape off the dried who-knows-what off the sides of the soles of her shoes, trying not to think about how all the food looked about the same after a few hours caked on the rubber soles of a pair of sneakers. As soon as she’d deemed her shoes clean enough, the redhead glanced over her shoulder towards the door of the television station behind her before quickly hitching up the skirt of her uniform, grabbing hold of the waistband, and worked on wiggling off the pantyhose. It barely took more than a minute or so to pull them loose, finally wadding them up, and stuffing them into her backpack with a defiance that was reserved solely for her three dollar nude pantihose from Walgreens. She still looked ridiculous, like she’d just come from some kind of fucking sock hop with her gingham dress, but at least she didn’t feel like some kind of stuffed sausage anymore, even if her legs were a little chilly now...

the family has always been fairly well off - they come from ‘old money’ and live in the same house ( though renovated ) they’ve held since the 1600s. 

located in natchitoches, louisiana, charles was once mayor of the quaint town before running for higher political positions, now comfortably in a senate position. cynthia is a school teacher. 

charles & cynthia met in college - they got married after only six months, and less than a year later christopher was born.

the parents have always supported all of their children, whether their interests lay in academics, art or otherwise.

giving all of their children the CJ initials started as a joke when they gave birth to connor - their original intentions was to have three children, a small unit of five altogether. charlotte and subsequent children ( specifically courtney ) were surprises. whoops !

they have a huge extended family. charles is the middle of four brothers, and cynthia has two sisters and three brothers. occasions - holidays, parties, etc. - tend to be hosted at the jackson family home, as they have the largest family out of all the ‘first generation’ children.

combined, there are probably around thirty cousins from all sides. now that they’re all in their 20s / 30s, the second generation has begun having children, creating the third generation.

the ‘cj’ name is limited to specifically charles/cynthia. other family members are normal.

christopher & charlotte have always been very close - while connor is closer in age to charlotte, chris was the one who looked out for her and the two tend to travel together when one moves somewhere new.

connor & caroline are also very close - while christopher and charlotte were the ‘wild children’, the two of them took to their studies and planned to change the world, just in very different ways.

there’s a slight disconnect between the ‘original four’ and ‘new four’. while charlotte is close to the twins, carson and courtney are so much younger than christopher and connor that while they love one another, they don’t know each other very well.

that being said, absolutely any of them would go to war for the other. though there may be a 16 year gap between christopher and courtney, they’re siblings and family has always been incredibly important to all jackson children.

caroline was the first to marry - she met cecilia while protesting in washington dc, and the two adopted a child from africa while traveling the world trying to help where they could.

cameron, or ‘cam’, is the only next generation jackson child thus far.

caroline is also the only vegan in a family of carnivores - she tends to rant about the meat industry during barbecues, which usually results in christopher and carson teaming up to dunk her in the pool.

the twins left the south as soon as they could. they traveled to manhattan to attend nyu together, and do moderately well on their own in the photography and modeling industry.

the family is big on travel. while they didn’t get a chance to go many places as a family unit when the kids were growing up, all of the children love to explore and travel.

charlotte prefers the mediteranian area of europe, and goes there frequently for inspiration for her art.

caroline and her wife cecila often go to developing nations to lend a hand where they can.

the twins will go anywhere once - they’ve taken on their fathers ability to network easily, and have been around the world just by making new friends and connections.

carson prefers to travel by car, and loves going cross country to visit family and friends during summer breaks.

carson plans on being a guitarist in a band. education is very important to cynthia, specifically, however, so he’s begrudingly attending ug before he can go live his rock star life.

charlotte understands his pain, and while she attended pratt in new york, she too just wanted to ‘create’ instead of suffering through school. however, the contacts she’s made have helped her, and she tries to tell him this to encourage him staying in school.

courtney was an absolute surprise. cynthia and charles believed carson would be the last, but they’re happy with their daughter who’s determined to follow in charles’ footsteps and eventually become ‘the first female president’.
