Been getting a lot of asks assuming that I work for Hoyoverse lately, so I thought it would be a good time to post the reminder! I'm not upset, I just don't want to cause any disappointment (or shock anyone when I swear or say something gay lol).

headcanon that vegeta owns the title of “trophy husband” proudly because he thinks it means he’s better than all the other husbands. bulma thinks it’s funny and doesn’t correct him.

u know what would be a cool genshin fic idea? isekai/transmigrated reader, but instead of appearing within the general timeline, you come into the genshin world 500 years prior to the start of the storyline in khaenri'ah.
honestly it could be either a little before the cataclysm, giving enough time to delve into some relationship building + explore some world building with characters like dainsleif, traveller's sibling (which would probably be lumine bc i actually do like her as abyss sibling & aether as traveller), and npcs like halfdan (still crying over him to this day ;w;) and possibly the khaenri'ahn royal guards (assuming you either join them or have a good enough relationship with them), OR it could be you appear during the crisis, completely and utterly lost as to why you were brought amidst the chaos and bloodshed as you watch everything you barely knew about this nation crumble before your very eyes.
either route will still result in reader's existential crises and constant "why am i here? just to suffer?" monologues because really, who would be fine after going through that after coming from /our/ world? and not to mention you've had to endure the next 500 years wandering with no real set path because you don't know this world— this era of teyvat or of genshin. you're merely stuck, unable to die, and forced to live a life of uncertainty with no clear direction for you to go to.
despite it all, you've at least been able to see dain during this course. while your meetings pass far too quickly for your lonesome, and his solemn demeanour is something you're yet to be accustomed to after having been with him before the fall of khaenri'ah (assuming it's the route where you appear before the cataclysm), you're glad to see a familiar face every now and then. after the messy departure with the lumine who left for the abyss order, you've come to appreciate his quiet presence more and more each time.
and then you decide it might be time to settle. you soon realise it's difficult to do so when your lifespan has become far more than that of a human's — of a mortal's — and so you find yourself becoming used to staying in one place for a few years before setting off for the next. rinse and repeat. over and over. it's come to a point where you've witnessed the nations undergo various changes each time you visit. you know change is inevitable, and yet your heart stings each time you witness it; a testament to how the world is ever-changing, yet you're stuck in place as a bystander.
one thing you're grateful for, however, are the bonds you've established amid your back-and-forth over the centuries. from archons like zhongli and venti to long-life beings such as neuvillette and the adepti to regular mortals who have showed you kindness as if one of their own... you've grown to cherish those memories, often reminiscing them when the nights get too long and surroundings too quiet. it was difficult at first, and still is, but you've become used to the inevitable change and the passing of those you once knew.
and after 500 years, you find yourself face-to-face with one you haven't seen since before you appeared in this world; the protagonist of this world, and the one you eventually join in hopes of finally finding a means to an end, aether.
little side notes/extras:
from /our/ world, you would probably know the storyline from up to around current (5.0) or maybe a little after the fontaine aq conclusion. it gives a lot to work with, but you definitely won't remember a lot of the lore after so long other than some main events, especially since most of your knowledge is pretty irrelevant for the next 500 years,,,
i think it would be cool if you had an inteyvat on your person as a little homage of khaenri'ah, which may or may not invoke some opinions from certain characters (*cough* aether immediately being reminded of lumine and having an existential crisis *cough*)
post-cataclysm you would go through a, uhm, long phase of helplessness, wondering why you were even brought to this world so far back if you couldn't even make any contributions. it does eventually morph into a resolution to do what you can to help those you come across if it's within your capabilities, but the nightmares and helplessness come back every now and then as a reminder for what you can't do :D yippee :D
honestly i'm on the fence whether you would have a vision or some other type of abilities (think on the similar lines of aether/lumine's and dain's), but i think having some type of purification mechanic would be a must in your arsenal !! would definitely lead to some moments between you and characters like dain or zhongli who suffer from the erosion as you give them a slight reprieve from what rages within and corrodes them
a little self indulgent, but i'd like to think your first /proper/ meeting with zhongli happens during a lantern rite festival, wherein you're admiring the lanterns in the sky after making a wish of your own and he comes up from behind with "they're beautiful, wouldn't you say so?" and !!
also as for love interests, as much as i would love for human/mortal characters, a part of me feels like this story would be better suited for the immortal/long-life characters as love interests?? idk i feel like considering that 500 years is, well, a long time, the bonds you would have with them compared to characters like, say, alhaitham or diluc would be way too different ?? though i would definitely still add them as love interest bc i am a sucker for so many of the human characters ;w; it would also add to the angst and hurt/comfort ahahha...
anyway thank you for reading this massive brain dump of a fic bc i absolutely would put this as a long term project, and if u made it this far then i would like to say that dain solos—

im thinking about celestia and the abyss being literal opposites (chaos and order) and im thinking about childe and lumine being sort of embodiments of that, just not in the way we think. after the latest natlan quest its clear to us what the fatui intends and what they want- i think the tsaritsa more than anything loves humanity, which is why she directly opposes celestia who are known for bringing down different civilizations. childe, as Her weapon and Her blade is an extenction of that: he's a blade forged by the abyss, bathed in Her holyness, meant to strike down those who sin. lumine (talking solely about traveler lumine) is the literal sister of the prince of the abyss, she has clear ties to it and at this point in the story still is hesitant about fully opposing him (i love angst). her entire story revolves around chaose and disrupting celestia's (and the fatui's) order. isnt that fun
i think what childe longs for the most is control- control of himself, his life, his powers, his story, his fate. i think what lumine wants the most is freedom, which is just another phacet of chaos
anyways. you see it. the themes are theming

@elaina-writes-things Ask and ye shall receive

"Oh gracious, this feels strange," Mipha said. Zelda's dress was much too large for her; when she flapped her arms, the long, draping sleeves swung back and forth. Even Impa started giggling.
"It's, um...You look-" Link tried to speak, but Revali cut him off.
"You look like you're drowning in that," he said, smirking. Link threw a pillow at him.
Zelda, giggling helplessly, looked much more comfortable than Mipha. She wore Mipha's sash over her nightdress, Mipha's tiara and bracelets. Although she fidgeted somewhat with the bracelets, trying to make sure they were comfortable, she obviously had much less fabric to worry about.
Mipha had to lift the dress just to walk, hitching the heavy, lace-trimmed skirts up to her knees.
"Oh, Zelda, my dear, how do you put up with this?" she fussed. "This is practically suffocating!"
"Honestly, I don't like much of my formal dresses," Zelda admitted. "They're too restricting, too heavy. As you say, they're quite suffocating."
Impa, who always dressed practically, eyed Zelda's open wardrobe warily, like the formal gowns might suddenly grow teeth and bite her.
"Hylians and their clothes," Revali scoffed. "I'll never understand it."
Link looked at Revali. He looked at the dresses.
Mipha knew that evil little glint in Link's eyes far too well.
"I think it's Revali's turn," Link announced. Zelda immediately sat up straighter, grinning, clapping her hands.
"Oh no," Revali said.
"Oh yes!" Zelda cried, hopping off her bed and grabbing the first dress she saw; a purple gown, trimmed in fur and decorated with silver beads. Its train was even longer than the dress Mipha wore.
"I hate all of you," Revali said flatly.
"There's the door," Impa pointed out cheerfully.
Revali didn't move. Link sat back, smirking, to enjoy the chaos. Mipha reclaimed her spot next to him and happily watched as Revali squawked and protested, but still didn't even attempt to leave or truly fight back.
Honestly, they were all terrible at telling Zelda no.

Hiya! :D
If you're fully okay with requests... could I request hugging hcs with Ningguang, Lumine and Kokomi please?
#just relax
hugging headcannons ft. ningguang, lumine, and kokomi (romantic/platonic)
warning(s): none!
Tumblr media
—Ningguang
Ningguang can be stiff at times. Perhaps tense would be a more fitting term. She tends to go rigid at physical touch due to how unaccustomed she is to it. As the Tianquan of Liyue, the only times she has ever actually been touched in her line of work is when tradition or customs allow it or when a threat is being made to her wellbeing. She has been physically affectionate with people she is close to before, but she experiences danger that is enough for her to be alert at any breach made in her personal space.
Should you ever hug her, she asks that you give her a warning that you are about to unless you want to risk being accidentally attacked by her gems. It's awkward when you first slide your arms around her since her reflexes first perceive the breach in personal space, and it'll take her a second or two before she is able to relax into your hold.
Ningguang would gingerly reciprocate your actions, arms also reaching around your frame. She doesn't squeeze you, opting to simply keep the hug breathable and comfortable - without any force needed to make you feel secure. At first glance, she might seem like the kind to back away as quickly as possible from any kind of skin contact; however, Ningguang is actually one of the few that asks for a minute longer.
Your arms that were wrapped around Ningguang's frame slowly start to retract. As your skin slides against hers, a squeeze against your own figure stops you from continuing. Ningguang simply rests her forehead on you, a sigh coming from her.
"Please, just for a second longer." She says. Her voice is meek, very much unlike her usual tone.
She reminds you of a child, pleading for small yet endearing affections. It makes you wonder a little, just how much did Ningguang have to grow up at such a young age? You'd heard stories of her selling by the coast of Yaoguang shoal, but it was only now that it settled in. You could only imagine how a young child could struggle to support themselves, working every day under the beating sun - an image so divorced to her current disposition.
So you let her stay that way a little bit longer, bodies once gain sharing that comfortable warmth. She sighs into your skin as her body language loosens up. Then you hear it, a mumble.
"Thank you."
—Lumine
Lumine's hugs are what you would expect it to be: welcoming. She is not a stranger to physical touch from friends, and she has spent many a time hugging some of them if requested (yes, even Paimon). Her body is built due to all the physical work she expends her energy on every day, so it's no surprise if her hugs also make you feel protected.
Her hugs don't last long for a few reasons. First is that she's always on the move, but she takes the few moments she gets to give you a hug if you ask for one. Second is the fact that her body has a tendency to be warmer than others, which may lead to some overheating; this is brought about adaptations from her experience traveling Teyvat (Paimon once ended up as a sort of teddy bear one night, and she ended up crying for Lumine to wake up since the rise in temperature was starting to feel extremely uncomfortable).
Overall, Lumine's hugs are homey and safe. If you ever have the chance to hug her, go for it (100% Paimon-approved despite the previous mishap).
It had been so long since you last saw Lumine. Despite letters being exchanged between you two every now and then, it felt like forever since your last meeting. That was why when you chanced upon curious whispers of the Honorary Knight entering the borders of Mondstadt, you couldn't help but show your excitement.
The citizens of Mondstadt were also quick to notice, watching you linger by the bridge or the stalls near the entrance. Other knights of Favonius also noticed the way you perked up every time you spotted anyone with blonde hair.
Bystanders looked upon you endearingly. Even more so when you rushed from under the arch and across the bridge without warning.
"Lumine!" You shouted, and everyone knew that the hero of Teyvat had finally appeared.
Lumine's laugh sounded like bells as you barreled into her awaiting arms. Even with so much force, her strength stopped her from tipping over as one typically would. Your arms wrapped around her shoulders, face burying in the crook of her neck. The feeling of your breath against her skin warmed her heart.
A hand rested upon your head. "I'm back."
—Kokomi
Kokomi is unaccustomed to physical affections, which might be able to be attributed to her status as a priestess. That alone leaves her busy, and though she works with multiple people in just a day, she doesn't regularly come into physical contact with them. Even if she does, the most that she's ever experienced is a handshake or tap on the shoulder.
Like Ningguang, she tenses at first when hugged. Her muscles go taught, and she tried hard not to let any discomfort slip onto her countenance. She'll try to ask you questions or talk to you in an attempt to dispell any such awkardness that she feels. Over time, as she gets used to physical contact with you, her hugs start to feel more comfortable. She also starts reciprocating physical affections little by little, like starting to hug you back or patting your head in some instances.
Kokomi's hugs are awkard at first, so expect her freezing up or her mouth ends up pressed into a thin lne. The more she gets used to it, however, the more her hugs start to feel like flowing water (as poetic as it sounds). It's calming and very grounding. It seems like hugs are much-needed breathers for both of you.
You sat in Kokomi's little sanctuary, reading away as you waited for her to finish her duties. On the table in front of you, a plate of mochi was set. You made it, hoping to get Kokomi to take a rest and sit with you for a while. The crunch of her sandals reverberated in the small space, and you put your book down, standing up to greet her.
"Kokomi, hey! How are-" You're immediately cut off by her arms snaking around your torso and pulling you closer. You were taken aback, but your hands soon found purchase on her back, rubbing up and down.
"My apologies for startling you," she whsipered, "I just couldn't help myself."
You closed your eyes, continuing your previous ministrations. "It's okay. You can always catch a break, you know? If you want to, I could even spend it with you."
Her hold on you tightened; the change was minute, but it's one you caught instantly. Kokomi sighed, shoulders sagging. You took it as your cue to bring up the food on the table. "C'mon, I made some dango. You should eat before you go back and do what priestesses like you do on a regular."
She let out a giggle before (almost disappointingly) detaching from you and sitting down in the chair adjacent yours. Her eyes peered onto the book also set on the table.
"Oh, that's one of my favorites!"

lumine's like a cat when she's hurt because she'd rather crawl away somewhere secluded and deal w it herself rather than be seen by anyone that would see the great traveler anything less than perfect. if she trusts you to appear weak and give into being helped then boy you've won the lottery.

i can't STANDDDD the abyss sibling. in my case, it's lumine. anyway i can't stand her. imagine your sibling chasing after you, pushing themselves to their limits JUST to find you--to find answers about you because they love and miss you more than anyone else--and when you finally decide you will see them again, what the fuck do you say? NOTHING OF VALUE?????? and you just go on your way, acting like you don't give a fuck????? when that's literally your only family, you walk away without reassuring that you do care for them and it's just that you have your hands tied or... fucking SOME explanation for why you won't talk??????? the abyss twin does not care about the other at all i swear. like imagine making your allegedly "beloved" sibling stretch themselves so impossibly thin just to find you instead of using your words and, idk, talking to them???? i would just stop looking for them at that point fuck that. anyway this is just a pet peeve about the genshin storyline. it's so annoying.
(i am not an only child btw. i do have an older sister.)
