hello hi lumine hc time. giving lumine the option of choice and autonomy will cause her to not know what to do with it initially. teyvat is still a pretty new ballgame for her after being a literal weapon that was tasked to follow orders in war. giving the star options that she gets to choose will lend her to stare , not compute then finally make a choice for herself. one of the reasons she helps everyone is because she doesn't entirely know how to slow down anymore. her buffer had been aether for the longest time and without him she'll push herself into exhaustion if given the chance.

lumine is actually more adept with heavier and ' larger ' weaponry. her war axe was her longest used weapon before she came to teyvat where she implemented a short sword for convenience -- which she imbues with some of her star matter so it doesn't fucking break immediately ( usually applies if she likes the weight / feel of a weapon ) due to her strength being a but all over the place. she's meticulous when it comes to looking after her weapons , bound to sit for an hour or more cleaning or sharpening them ; this task usually engrained in her by her father who , well , was rather strict about how she was to present her weapons when she had time to do so. hard habit to break.

big sword. great sword. ma'am was tasked with protecting / guarding the little alberich ( mostly canon to @glacialswordsman's kaeya but yeah wjwj ) and took it very very seriously regardless of her father's view of doing so. it had been a baeur lineage and she took up the responsibility being the eldest daughter. anyway she was proficient in many weapons but preferred the greatsword for its length so she could stay back and protect the prince if she needed by standing in front of him but not putting him in danger at the same time. she also had a pretty neato dagger.

the blade is small  ,   but wickedly sharp  :  it fits in pockets  ,  under clothing  ,  kept up close to your skin.  it provides excellent defense when you find yourself in need.   it   lets you protect yourself against a world that you know to be dangerous.   it becomes like a part of you  ,  before long.   you find it in your hand without a memory of drawing it.   you find the people around you bloody  ,  cut  ,  before you realize that the dagger has moved.  protecting you.   defending you.  you leave it behind and you find it on your hip again.  you tell someone that you trust them  ,  tell yourself  that you want to trust them  ,   and still  ,  red rifts open across their skin when they get too close.  you don’t know how long you have before   everything you touch   is cut to shreds.

WAR IS NOTHING BUT A HOPELESS STRUGGLE.

war weary and honestly already exhausted due to the influence of the abyss corrupting the night kingdom , the mechanic of initially not having the bubble that kept us from losing health , while still there in my canon of events , was simply in existence for much less time. her light and strength had been sapped slowly by the abyss , leaving her vulnerable enough even with the assistance of all the souls that had come to her aid. igniting the power of pyro in attempts to defeat gosoythoth prior to its transformation into a version of the dragon sovereign did some to help , giving her some wiggle room to keep her from being consumed in her and mavuika's fight -- only for a split second to change almost everything. the traveler dies in her desperate desire to save natlan the despair of losing their archon when they are so close to victory. her hope to protect at least one important person -- only for xbalanque / gosoythoth to latch onto her light with the biting dark and capture her whole in its claws. while alight in flame from the pyro element , lumine is weakened by the abyss that's seeping into her core from the night kingdom's corruption and this kills her outright. her sacrifice comes at the price of her body being crushed under the oppressive weight of the darkness ; having being seized, devoured and core destroyed.

ral'ion , the goddess of light , sister of the god of death , ree'nia ( or better known now as ronova , ruler of death ) held the broken core in her hands , full of sorrow for the end that one of the last of Her children had suffered --- her life has only just begun , suffering and war has been the former Empresses friend for so long. its unfair. She cradled the dimming star essence between Her hands , allowing it to just barely hold shape when it was so close to extinguishing. the world , this new world , still deserved hope for a better tomorrow. darkness had consumed her , yet the chants of hope from the people of natlan broke through. now , i take inspiration from final fantasy xiv's final trial in endwalker with endsinger here , wherein the warrior of light has most very likely been swallowed by oblivion only for their comrades to stand against fate with their belief and hope for survival. in saying this , lumine's core , broken and destroyed and just having her pieces still together by Her grace , is only mended by the hope of the people of natlan that she and mavuika survive. its the hope for their friend and in their future that brings her back from death into the night kingdom. the universe once again knew light in the form of a star that has become teyvat's hope for a better future. for a brief moment , the star wasn't chained by the heavenly principles -- her power and authority restored by hope and light -- and natlan's archon brought fire down upon the biting dark and won.

CELESTIAL / PRIFAITRIAN LORE. thinking about what's known now ( thanks to the xbox glider description ) that the abyss sibling with my canon would be more abyssal than celestial at this point with how they have basically become a vessel of abyssal power and this is why even as a celestial they've been able to survive in / around the abyss without major consequences like what the celestial traveler ends up with just by being around corruptive energies for a period. with the abyssal taint gone , whenever that'll be , will cause effectively what would suffer the psychological, cognitive and physical symptoms of what basically would be ' abyssal withdrawal ' for a fair amount of time until little is left of it.
