The 4th of July at Fort Meigs, Ohio, featuring the Old Northwest Military History Association.

Jokingly, they mentioned that they didn’t do the 13-gun salute at dawn in consideration of the neighbors, but the other toasts and music of the 1813 Independence Day celebration at Fort Meigs were reenacted with an 18-gun salute.

At top, the musket shooting competition where participants try to fire three shots (powder only, no bullet) as fast as possible. The goal is three shots within a minute, but few achieve this.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D 2 part finale aired on August 12, 2020. 5 members of the original team May (Ming-Na Wen), Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), Daisy (Chloe Bennet), and (A Life Model Decoy of) Coulson (Clark Gregg) were in the episode in their final fight against the Chronicoms. The epilogue, that took place one year later, was July 4, 2020. The series ran for 136 episodes and 7 seasons. The series was slow to catch on, but seemed to get its legs once in tied into the Hydra plot of Captain America and the Winter Soldier. ("What We're Fighting For", Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, TV, Event)

You are free to enjoy the fireworks today but I also ask for you to reflect on how free do your neighbors, colleagues, coworkers, veterans, classmates, rivals, and other peers in this country feel, especially the peers that may look different from you or that you disagree with. Compare and contrast your levels of safety and access to resources, community, wellness, and happiness, with their levels.

Do they have access to the healthcare they need and want? Why or why not?

Do they feel safe walking down the street of their city? Or neighborhood?

Do they have access to fresh, nutritious food? Does it comply with their dietary choices and restrictions?

Do they feel safe wearing the clothing of their choice (assuming the garment does not incite hate or violence)?

Do they feel safe enough to speak? In class? At work?

How much rest are they able to get in a day? A week?

Is their home safe? Is it clean? Do they have adequate heating and cooling? Do they have a bed to support their resting body?

Thank you for taking a moment to consider and reflect. I have one more favor to ask of you. What is something that you can do to help uplift or advocate your peers in need to help remove the restrictions they face? Can you give? Can you attend? Can you make a space for them to safely share their struggle? Can you listen? Can you communicate to others? Can you participate in a phone call? Can you write a letter? Can you bring water? Can you bring a first aid kit or do you have emergency medical expertise?

Can you bring the same amount of exciting energy to fight for freedom that you bring to the big grill-out and fireworks party tonight?

Liliana didn't know what came first, the blinding lights before her eyes or the fact her ears were ringing from the loud explosions around her. She'd been enjoying the fireworks one moment, waiting for her companion to come back with their drinks to being shoved against a metal framework the next. Everything sounded like it came from so far away, muted by the ringing in her ears. fragments of God only knew lodged itself in her hair and fracturing small bits of skin of her cheekbone and then her hands, shielding herself, eyes closing and merely praying for it to be over soon @travisjackson.
