She’s fighting sleep as she waits for her dad to come home. She immediately perks up when she hears the door open and is quick to run to Carmen, clinging onto his legs. He’s caught off guard at first, letting out an ‘oof’ when she clings onto him.

“‘Eyyyy sweetheart. Watcha doin’ up? S’past your bedtime,” his voice is slightly hoarse from an exhausting shift.

She lets out a noise and Carmen immediately softens, kneeling down to her level. He places a gentle hand on her curls.

After a bit of coaxing she confesses her worries which makes Carmen’s heart break in a million pieces. The workaholic now is determined to get some time off for his daughter.

He envelops her into a tight embrace and carries her to bed, listening intently at the stories she tells him. She drifts off in the middle of one and Carmen stays there for a bit, making sure she’s plenty relaxed.
