Got an itch to play Sunless Sea again and it's always such an odd experience because. Like.

I know this game. Any other game, the level if knowledge and research I have put into this would make me a confident fucking master. And yet.

I can be reading text I've read dozens of times before and i still feel...not clueless, but absolutely off the mark. It all feels so familiar and yet I've never seen a victory condition. I've at least started pretty much every storyline but I'll still see something new each time I sink some time into it. I have a fucking JOURNAL of TRADE ROUTES and REQUIRED ITEMS and somehow that's only mildly helpful

That and the fact Fallen London's lore is so fucking batshit and honestly kind of hard to research (thr wiki's are frustratingly structured for me and the browser game is just. A bit inaccessible for me) means I can have a pretty solid understanding of what's going on in each port and what each faction is about and still ZERO FUCKING GRASP ON LITERALLY ANY PLOT

#to be clear! this is a big part of why i enjoy it #like...imo fallen london is kind of a perfect cosmic horror setting #bc you can learn everything there is to know and so much remains somewhat inscrutable #leaves me hungry for information which is a little frustrating but still enjoyable #also its so slow paced? so youre really left to juat kinda. stew in the atmosphere #anyway if anyones super familiar with it and wants to give me tips id love to talk about it asfgjgjf #im still trying to build up money early game #juat finished the salt lions and it seems the khanate has spawned on the fucking furthest north eastern corner #so i need to fucking find it so i can run the sun trade for a bit #sunless sea #also forgot you only get the sub unlocked in one playthrough so i gotta do that again #but tbh the unterzee stuff is what i know least about. ive done stuff here and there but not finished anything #i need to know what the deal is with the nook #also that fucking spider TERRIFIES me even tho its never caught me

was it ever established if dee & dennis slept in separate rooms or the same 1 growing up. bc in my head i like to think that despite their stupidly big house frank & barbara just shoved them both in the same room so theyd have more space to do wtv in the rest of the house. but im actually not sure if that contradicts canon in some way? i dont remember if it was ever mentioned

Let alone like #Unfortunately for him he absolutely enjoys Mihawk's company and chill vibes.#Doflamingo gets Gaston's role tho where he's innitially out to marry Mihawk he becomes FERAL when he finds out about Crocodile #He catches one glimpse at the sandy bananawani monster prince and is immidiately down and BAD #Like he doesn't know what that Thing is nor what its deal is but he needs it. The Thing needs to become his.#And so he pivots to 1) trying to assassinate Mihawk without Crocodile finding out so he can 2) Woo the monster prince -> Profit #Doflamingo being a sneaky bastard he could probably find a way to snoop around Crocodile's castle (pyramid?)#And figure out that there's somekinda curse that could be broken and the inhabitants of the castle turned back into humans #Maybe the curse wasn't like Cosmic Punishment for Croc being an ass maybe he tried to make a deal with a Big Headed Witch to change his bod #And it didn't quite go as planned. But the reptile monster was still an improvement over the tiddies so he's somewhat fine with it #Sucks for the servants though #(Something about imagining the Baroque Works members as Croc's enchanted servants has me in absolute hysterics)#Anyway maybe Doflamingo could find like some old pre-curse painted portrait of the master and would be allured by the tiddy #Sucks for Mingo though 'cause after Mihawk breaks the curse Croc gets the body he wanted from the get go #So the witch did grant Croc his wish. They just had go about doing it in a Really Weird Way (heehaw)#Anyway they kill Mingo and live happily ever after (heehaw)

I've literally never understood parents who don't let their like... TODDLER age kids play with kids of the "opposite" gender. Like wtf do you think your 3 year old is gonna get up to????? News flash heteros people aren't literally born sexual beings and you don't need to protect your sweet baby girl from the boy from her preschool class.

Which also makes boy/girl friendships later on actually LESS TABOO meaning, if your kid grew up being friends with OTHER GENDERS, they will be less likely to see others solely as potential romantic/sexual objects and can actually have positive normal friendships with people of any sex or gender. Who fucking knew that if you don't treat something as FORBIDDEN then it stops being so appealing, especially if you have a rebellious streak
