So, I was wondering why this dragonborn called my dragonborn "veyemniri"-

-so I ended up falling down a rabbit hole of forgotten or supposedly retconned lore for the race.

I will never get over nor get behind what WotC has done to D&D. Why was all this hidden and not in the main core books?!

And so help, for those that for some reason hate playing by lore or people obsessing over strict lore, I present an explanation from Bluey as to WHY playing by the strict rules of lore makes the game fun.

taash said "they were doing it" and people ran with the interpretation of an npc that doesn't know solas or the history of the elvhenan even when bellara interjected and said, no, that's not right. that's not how it was for the elvhenan. they formed bonds before they had physical bodies. and people ran to doompost or create weird anti-solavellan shit even though mythal & solas refer to each other as old friends and when she releases him there is no tenderness or love in it. it is the act of unchaining a dog from his post, the stepping down of a general. but to each their own ig.

#let the record show i think love was there. do I personally perceive it as romantic / sexual? no.#mythal's perception of love & care is warped in and of itself #i think they loved each other. but she loved what she could take from him and what he could give in terms of service #not because she was romantically into him #also i wish we knew more about her & elgar'nan. her regret prison form says she holds no love for him anymore #and it makes me wonder when that love soured. was it when she was blighted? before that? was that love also born of duty and companionship?#this is the last post i'm gonna make ab this i think #bc i believe people are too caught up in the modern western ideas of love as thing we give solely to our romantic partners #and we literally have a character go ”our perception is warped bc of the age we live in�� and some of you are still being purposefully obtuse #and i think trick saying it's up to interpretation is basically admitting EA had them dumb down the game anyway #if everything ab the rise and fall of the evanuris in game #was condensed to five 2min cutscenes it says enough that whatever the writers wanted #was swiftly cut down by corporate dept. basically saying it's in the fans' court now #also bc it's an easy cop out around new players & non solasmancers who are indifferent ab him / dislike him #as a way to appeal thru a more sympathetic lense of look!! he loved and was led astray #not to mention the clear justinia / leliana parallels #and leliana gets angry if you imply she was romantically involved / in love w justinia #and the romance descr when you remake your inq saying the dread wolf could not predict what it would mean to fall IN LOVE #implying he had never fallen in love before or at the very least experienced a romantic love #also him saying drinking from the well would make you a slave and he gets really upset #yet ive seen takes of ”hes doing this for her cus he dgaf ab lavellan” ?? he got mythal killed when he told her ab the blight #whatever feelings of admiration he had for her have rotted. he is literally burdened by his mistakes and his choice in joining her #i feel like if i were a spirit bound and twisted into a weapon i would need my creator to tell me i am Free. i would need that closure #like when cole says its not abuse to bind him if he asks and solas said thats not always true???#if you perceive her interaction w him in vg third act as #anything more than the way justinia released leliana in inq then im sorry maybe youre just obtuse #solavellan #mythal #dragon age meta

Blessed in that I have only one hyperfixation...cursed because that fixation is Dragon Age.

She can transform into a dragon and then falls in love with a man on a mission to slay all the dragons he finds. Who then begins to travel with her brother and his friend and keeps hearing about how "my sister could kick your ass" and he tries to keep his sister away from the dragon slayer because that's a risk he won't take.

Then the sister ends up marrying the dragon slayer.

#my characters #i am working on fanart but not enough energy to finish the stupid thing so you guys get ocs today #dragon slayer is actually ex-royalty and isnt anymore simply because his entire kingdom was destroyed by dragons #when he was young and after that he just got consumed by the need to make sure it never happened to anyone else #he lost his entire family and the entire population and lost hope in fate p much #then he starts traveling with mr national geographic on dragons and eventually meets his sister #while she is in dragon form and the guy bs's uhhhh this is the family messenger dragon! means no harm!#she was just leaving in fact !!! and then the family messenger dragon reappears to save the trio and looks really smug about it #so the dragon slayer is like fine your family dragon gets a pass #and he meets her in human form a few times but it doesnt really register that shes the dragon #and when he watches her change for the first time hes like oh thats why you think she could kick my ass #anyway she falls in love at first sight so yeehaw it works out #and final note is the brother is named vikrahm and her name is shilva while dragon slayer is #simply dubbed pops by their friend adlyn and then dubbed old man by vik #bc he wont reveal his name

the only 'negative opinion' i have abt dunmeshi anime so far is abt like color choices/palettes just not being the bestest but thats something i actually think is also not a strong suite of dungeon meshi The Manga, its always been something ive been disappointed by when i see something colored and im like damn thats kinda basic to me sorry :( but color choices in stories dont need to speak to me personally i dont care. i can go watch promare. i do expect the color usage might become a little better as the story progresses in the anime but again like i dont know if ppl have just .. not noticed that this criticism of the anime also applies to the source material

#im ngl i was disappointed when i saw like falins dragon form colors lol #ryoko kuis character design and worldbuilding is sharp and great enough to stand on its own #but it does look better without colors to me #bcuz a lot of her color choices just dont do a lot for me personally and thats like. fine. its whatever #trigger might actually be able to fill in where theres a lack here in the future. the colors arent bad in the anime #but theyre about consistent with the manga. which isnt my favorite #dungeon meshi

Maybe it's because I've been playing these two games back to back recently, but not only does Lilith look like Kalos Pokemon to me, she looks like a one that Diantha could've used in her team.

I have such an important interview tomorrow and instead of trying to prepare, I'm obsessing over She Kills Monsters. Like a responsible person.

#idek why i remembered skm. like what made me remember it #i was just scrolling tumblr and all of a sudden remembered the best play ever created #and had to obsess over it. instead of preparing #idek how to prepare tho tbh #the interview is for an office position at the aummer camp ive worked at for six years #the director gave us all a question to rhink on so i need to think on that #and i guess also what i want the position to look like because theyre changing it up this year #and why im good for the position and why i want it #okay i have a solid starting point now #i also might reach out to the guy that did that position the last three years and ask him if he remembers any of his interview questions #idk. idk if ill get the position but i really want it. but unfortunately the other applicant is a really good friend #thats the tough part of working at a summer camp for awhile. you go for positions against aome of your best friends #last year i got an area director position over one of my close friends and i felt so bad when i got the news #idk im tired. maybe ill just wow the interviewer with my knowledge of skm and hope thats enough #i want to watch a bootleg tonight but i dont want to cry. but it would be the pefect thing to watch while i knit my dragon wing shawl #anyway. i shiuld go. maybe prepare. maybe just knit and think about skm
