#im back from a week with my dad at home and at the lake #it was really nice to b home for a while but now im a mess lol #bc it really makes me wanna move back to Appalachia and not do another semester out here #and also this was our 1st trip to the lake without my mom being there. she loved the lake. she grew up on the water and was named after an #island. she died before she could use our new jetski. which my dad bought for her and she would have loved #and i stood in her sandles bc my dad keeps them out by the fireplace and my toes fit almost exactly into the impressions of her feet #and i came come with another bag full of her clothes. and i feel bad for my dad being all alone in that big house #i mean hes got the dogs but theyre 7 and 8 and theyre big boys so they probably dont have all that long left. itll be so sad when they die.#there was a moment where i was talking to the dogs and he said i sounded exactly like my mom. which was kinda intentional #on my part bc i say a lot of things bc she would say them. stolen phrases and intonations. pieces of things ive taken.#its still weird that she's just gone forever. the time in the hospital feels like it was some horrible nightmare.#and now shes never gonna kno where we end up. she's left rooms full of half tumbled rocks and half sorted photos and half organized #classroom supplies. the outlines of a person that will slowly be stitched out of existance as time moves on until theres nothing left and #the memories are gone. its just sad is all. especially bc she didnt deserve it. no one does but expecally not her.#but unfortunately life isnt about getting what you deserve. its chaos and coincidence all the way down.#unrelated

I have a question if it’s alright? Personally what do you think happened to Lin after Amon took her bending? Cause I doubt he would have just let her walk free bending or not. Cause like near the end she just pops back up. No escape scene or anything if Amon did imprison her.

I have a few fics up about this! up on my Ao3, MIND THE TW TAGS I BEG YOU.

I have an OLD one about if Lin got off the island and how she tried to support the Krew and keep out of their way.

i have another idea where she was held in the cells pema and the kids were shoved into in later so she knew she failed to protect them after all.

I have another idea where shes held in a wooden cage in the Sato workshop so she could see the planes and machines being built but couldnt reach them.

I have the more recent fic about her being tortured for the days leading up to the rally. but she is uh, barely alive and that is not really canon compliant with the unexplained scene of Lin on the docks.

so if you're looking for a fully canon compliant take...

Amon did not let her off the island, they probably held her in that cell that they have in the ATI attic (for some reason?) she would have tortured for information, where the air fam was headed, where the Avatar was, ect. she would have been there when Tarrlok was tossed in, but I think maybe she was dragged out to the arena to be apart of the rally as a display of all the trophies Amon's collected the bending of. So no one knew where she was but she was probably with a bunch of other captives so she was found when the police cleared the building. So for keeping it canon compliant then any injuries would have been healed up with a healing sesh. (or she was hiding her injuries rather well)

as an aside, in the south

As to why Lin was there, I think Katara would have tried bloodbending to undo the damage bloodbending did. Lin allowed Katara to try several times on herself with no success.

I also fully believe Korra took Lin into the Avatar state with her so she could see Aang again and he could thank her and say he loved her and was proud of her and Aang could restore Lin's element to her.

Rick was used to trouble and potentially deadly situations. They had been a constant in his life since his youngest years, no matter if he had tried to avoid them...At least for a while. By the time he had turned sixteen, he had become so jaded not to care enough to do so anymore.

That, however, didn't mean that he didn't find such occurrences extremely annoying to deal with. Even more when he had other, more important plans on the way.

That was hardly his first time in a Hell dimension. He visited them almost on a regular basis, both as an observer and as an active participant. He had even captured and dragged away a few specimens in some occasions.

That particular visit, though, should have been a swift one. He had come to recover a very interesting sort of weapon he had by chance seen used. An alien metal alloy, which seemed to have special properties, definitely worth a closer look and some experimenting.

Unfortunately, choosing a time of chaos in the city to go unnoticed had turned out to be a double-edged sword. While, on one hand, most of the residents were too busy with their petty turf wars to notice him, the few who did necessarily needed to be terminated before they went screaming that a live human being was walking around their streets.

The demon's blood splashed on the bottom of his lab coat as he shot the latest nuisance that had step in his way in the skull, their blood joining the rest of the stains that already covered his skin and clothes. Not that he noticed. He was more than used to be covered in blood, his own and others' alike. What mattered was that he had finally reached his destination. He just had to find the right room and then he could have left to never return.

Yet, he barely had the time to cross the atrium, when he felt a presence close behind him. Rick jumped on the side, much more quickly than a human should have been capable off, avoiding the sword that had been aimed at his back.

The creature he found himself facing was more humanoid than most of the beings he had encountered so far and with less animal traits, aside from the wings on her back. Under other circumstances, those differences would have piqued his interest, but right now he was single-mindedly following his aim.

"L-Let me go." Cold, emotionless gray blue eyes locked on her weapon. "Or I'll take what I've come for off your corpse."
