The Last Time: Jack Reacher x Reader (NSFW)
Tagging: @kmc1989 @castle-of-ruin @baconeggndcheez @alishageorgia @hal3ynicol3
It’s past midnight and the stars are twinkling up in the sky as you and Reacher lie on a sleeping bag in the woodland near your house staring up on them. The trees rustle in the light breeze, the sounds of the forest a peaceful rendition.
Reacher’s fingers threaded through yours. The flames from the campfire illuminating his features, highlighting the freckles on his face. He’s more weather worn than you last time you saw him, his cheeks are grizzled, his skin a little more tan. He usually stops by every couple of months, shares your bed, walks your dog before he takes off again. He’s a nomad at heart, he always has been.
“This has to be the last time.” He says finally, swallowing hard against the well of emotion in his chest. “I can’t keep coming back here.”
You don’t say anything, not when he squeezes your hand just that little bit tighter or when he turns his head to survey your expression.
You know what the problem is.
Reacher is starting to settle.
His visits have been more frequent over the past year, he stays for longer, starts keeping things at your place. Nothing more than a couple of pairs of boxers and a t-shirt but they’re still there, still his. It’s the biggest commitment he’s made since retiring from the Army.
The man you first met arrived with only the clothes on his back, he didn’t need anything else and now he has a drawer in your dresser and his own mug in your cupboard.
“Is that why you insisted we camp underneath the stars tonight?” You ask him quietly. “You wanted it to be special?”
“Something like that.” He tells you, his voice a little rough. The time you have together is incredibly meaningful to him, you’re the closest he’s been to another person in years which is why he has to let you go. He can’t afford to have any attachments, not with the way he attracts trouble.
He rolls onto his side, his thumb ghosting over the apple of your cheek as he looks into your eyes.
“I want you to remember me.” He whispers, his lips brushing over yours. “Remember all the good we had together.”
He makes love to you that night, under the stars, the light of the campfire bathing your bare skin as he drives you to the pinnacle of release before he pulls you away again. He wants to keep you in freefall for as long as possible, to prolong the experience because Reacher, he isn’t ready for this to end, no matter what he tells you.
Your thighs clench around his hips, drawing him deeper. You can feel that climax building inside of you again, each wave washing over you, drowning you. Reacher’s hand comes to rest on your jaw, guiding your mouth back to his. He needs you to be immersed in him when you come, consumed completely because this is the memory he wants to leave you with, him loving you with everything he has.
He feels the exact moment the ecstasy hits you, you grip his dick so fucking tightly that you take him over the edge with you, his release spilling deep inside. He still doesn’t stop, he fucks it deeper, kissing you, touching you because Reacher, he’s not ready for it to be over, not yet.
“Jack…” You say quietly, your fingers threading through his hair as he buries his face into the curve of your throat. “This doesn’t have to be goodbye.”
But it does because Reacher, he can’t the thought of losing you and that’s exactly what’s going to happen if he stays.

Summer Nights (Nick Furcillo)
Preview: Another tap. And another. You raised a shaky hand to peel the blinds apart, just enough for you to peek out.
Contains: making out, obvious crushing
word count- 2.3k/unedited
This summer was going to be the best summer of your life. There was no way anything was going to ruin it. You had managed to snag the dream job of anyone your age who was begging for a little bit of freedom from home. A camp counselor.
That’s right. Your summer was gonna be spent chasing sweaty pre-teens, fixing bee stings and splinters, and putting aloe on sunburns. But on top of that you were going to get to hike, and kayak around an island, and spend nights singing campfire songs. All while away from the real world, away from the stress of friends, of family, of school.
Your main stressors were the middle school arguments you had to be the mediator for. Emma was little to no help with it, instead instigating said fights by helping spread rumors for a little bit of ‘entertainment’. You could almost hear her voice, “I can’t wait to tell the boys about this”, while you were busy consoling campers over their week-long relationship.
You threw your tray down on the table, another night of soggy meat and limp veggies. Camp food was never good, almost always big pots of some kind of slop and frozen vegetables. Nutritionally balanced was a goddamn lie. Emma sat down next to you, giggling and smiling at Jacob who took the bench across from her.
“Oh, Jacob,” She laughed, covering her mouth. “You are hilarious!”
You rolled your eyes. Even if they wanted to deny their relationship, say they were friends or hate each other, there was no doubting that something was happening. Of course, you knew, with the amount of times she woke you up to sneak out to the docks with him, there would be no way you didn’t know.
Their conversation turned into background noise as your eyes caught someone walking towards your table. It was like something out of a movie, things moving in slow motion. Tight jeans hugged long, slender legs, a skinny waist hidden by a baggy t-shirt. Puppy dog eyes shining.
Nick smiled and greeted you as he sat down with his food. Dylan, Kaitlyn, and Ryan sat down soon after, all beginning to chat with each other as they choked down the ‘food’. You joined in the conversation, listening to Dylan spit out some pretty good one-liners, and caught the way Ryan looked at him while he did. You listened as they made the plans for a campfire, something fun for the end of the week. The plan was for everyone to meet by the lakeside for the bonfire on the beach and roast marshmallows and make smores with the campers. Maybe someone would bring a guitar or some spooky stories.
Soon dinner came to an end. Nick grabbed your tray before you even had a chance to react. “I’m on cleaning duty this evening.” He smiled. “I’ll still see you at the campfire tonight though, right?”
“Oh!” You smiled back, hoping the flush of your face wasn’t horribly obvious. “Of course, I-I will definitely see you tonight.” You nodded and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
Emma had already begun collecting the campers when you made your way to the table. She was helping the campers stack plates and trying to rush them to get to the showers as fast as possible.
You and Emma led the campers back to the cabin to grab shower caddies and made your way to the bathroom. Emma groaned as you guys walked into the bathroom. It reeked of bleach and mildew, and a mild stink of wet dog for some unknown reason. The floor was stained with years of mud and perpetually wet. The lights flickered and some of the shower curtains on the stalls were beginning to turn black on the bottom from all the moisture.
“All right campers! Each of you have… 6 minutes to shower!” Emma announced. “Save the hot water for everyone, please. I cannot take another ice bath tonight.” She rolled her eyes. You both made quick work of turning on the showers and assigning campers to each one to try and minimize the amount of time wasted.
“So, you excited for the bonfire tonight?” Emma questioned as she picked at her nails. “Gonna flirt with your boy toy?” She whispered, nudging you slightly.
“He’s not my boy toy!” You shook your head. Sure, you had a slight crush on Nick. He made your heart flutter, your cheeks get hot, your hands clammy. But it was only a slight crush… Right?
Emma hummed. “That’s right. You won’t make a move.” She laughed. “Can’t be yours if you won’t stake the claim.”
You rolled your eyes. “I’ll do it when I’m good and ready. We don’t even know if he likes me back.” You watched as two of the girls began trading body washes and combing each other's hair in the dirt stained mirrors.
When it was your turn to shower, you found yourself thinking about what Emma had said. Did she know something you didn’t? You let the cold water run over your skin for a little bit longer, washing any leftover soap off. You sighed as you turned the shower off and quickly got dressed, pulling pajamas over your still wet skin.
You trudged back to the cabin with the campers, listening to them chatter about how excited they were for the bonfire and to see ‘Counselor Dylannnnn’. You had a good giggle with Emma about the crushes the campers had on the counselors while everyone cleaned up their bunks and finished getting ready.
After a while, you guys finally left the cabin and began the short hike to the beach. The campers squealed and ran off the second they saw the glow of the fire and joined their friends on the blankets set up on the beach. Jacob and Ryan were throwing more kindling on the fire while Nick was helping a younger camper zip their jacket. Your heart ached at the sight.
“Good with kids.” Emma teased as she pushed by you. “We’re here!” She called out.
Nick looked up at the call and smiled when he spotted you. The kid he was helping ran off as soon as his jacket was zipped. “Y/N!” He waved. “Come sit.”
You made your way over, taking in the smell of the fire before sitting on the log next to Nick. You could hear giggles of the campers just a few feet away on the shore, a few of them dipping their toes in which landed them a scolding from Ryan.
You guys sat in silence for a while, watching as everyone chilled out and played around as the sun went down. You kept your eyes on the fire, the flames warming your face. It was almost perfect. That was, until Dylan and Kaitlyn approached.
“We have S’MORES!” Dylan shouted, holding up some bags. The campers cheered and raced over, trying to grab at the ingredients to make the sweets. “Woah, woah, one at a time, ya little goblins!” He laughed.
“We need a line!” Kaitlyn called out. “And for you guys to be safe, and smart, about the marshmallows and fire!”
You helped the kids place the marshmallows on the ends of (mostly clean) sticks and showed them how to roast the perfect marshmallow. Kaitlyn was trying to avoid burns at all costs, even if that meant physically pulling kids back from the fire. Jacob and Emma had disappeared, no doubt off into the bushes somewhere to make out and baby talk to each other.
Once all the kids had their fill of s’mores, the counselors decided to make a few of their own. You had a weak spot for the gooey goodness of a charred marshmallow and melted chocolate. You ate your treat while Ryan began the scary campfire stories to the kids.
“Hey,” a voice sounded in your ear. You turned your head and came face to face with Nick. “You got a little, uh…” He motioned to his own cheek. You felt your face heat up in embarrassment. Food on your face? What were you? 4? “Let me.”
He lifted a hand to your face, gently rubbing the chocolate off the corner of your mouth with his thumb. “Beautiful.” He smiled before popping the thumb in his mouth and sucking the chocolate off. “And tasty.”
You were praying that only you could hear the pounding in your ears. And that the fire could be to blame on how hot and red your face was. You could hear the teasing from Emma already.
“T-thanks.” You weren’t sure if you should thank him. He had just indirectly licked chocolate off your face. Kaitlyn winked at you from her spot next to Ryan when you looked back over. What was happening?
The rest of the bonfire went by like a blur. Your mind was too focused on Nick to even somewhat focus on the story Ryan was telling. Something about a hag of the campsite? Who even knows.
Now here you are, in your uncomfortable cabin bed, with your hands crossed over your tummy as you stared up at the ceiling. Your mind was racing, thinking about anything and everything. Did Nick like you? Was this some long con joke from everyone? You wanted to scream into your pillow but couldn’t risk waking any of the campers.
A tap on your window nearly made you risk that. You whipped your head to the side and stared at the window, crappy plastic blinds were the only thing keeping whatever the hell that was from seeing you. Another tap. And another. You raised a shaky hand to peel the blinds apart, just enough for you to peek out.
And there he was. Nick. Dressed in a pair of pajamas and with messy bed head, looking as cute as ever. He smiled at you, his flashlight pointed down. He motioned for you to join him. You rolled out of bed and trudged over to Emma, poking her until she acknowledged you.
“Nick, I know.” She groaned. “Go, I got this.” She waved you off.
You nodded even though she couldn’t see you in the almost pitch black darkness of the cabin. You slipped on your shoes and quietly left the cabin, the door creaking shut. You took a deep breath and walked down the steps to meet Nick.
“Hey,” He greeted. “I hope I didn’t wake you.” He rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. “Thinking about it now, maybe coming to ask you to go for a walk with me in the middle of the night wasn’t the best idea.”
You giggled. “It’s okay, I couldn’t fall asleep anyway.” The two of you began walking out of the campsite and onto one of the trails. Conversation flowed naturally, ranging from home life to the possibility of aliens invading the planet.
You two came to a clearing, the open night sky glimmering above you. Thousands of bright stars littered the sky and you sighed at the serenity of it. You and Nick sat on a fallen log, both admiring the sky. Crickets sounded in the grass around you.
“It’s beautiful.” Nick whispered.
You hummed in agreement. A cool breeze tickled your skin and you shivered, goosebumps raising on your arms. You wrapped your arms around yourself, rubbing your hands up and down in an attempt to create some sort of warmth.
“Oh,” Nick noticed. “Here,” He slid his jacket off and helped you into it. The warmth instantly sent butterflies to your stomach. The scent of Nick filled your nose and that alone made your cheeks hot. “Is that better?”
“Yes, thank you.” You curled into the jacket, letting the warmth hug you. You both sat in a comfortable silence for a while before you noticed Nick had gotten closer to you. His thigh brushed yours, causing you to look over.
“Is this okay?”
You smiled and nodded. “Yeah, this is okay.” You scooched a little closer, your legs now pressed together. You had begun to feel a little more brave and decided to rest your head on his shoulder, staring out at the view. You could hear Nick’s heart beat through the crickets, the sound pounding against your ear. “Hey, Nick?” You questioned softly.
“Yeah?” He responded, resting his head on yours for a second.
You stayed silent for a few seconds, enjoying the moment. You wanted to soak this up before you possibly ruined the entire friendship. “How do you feel about me?”
Nick gently shifted, adjusting to sit somewhat facing you. “How do you think I feel about you?”
“I asked first.”
Nick stared at you for a second before lifting a hand and brushing your hair back. His hand came to rest under your chin. “I think that you are one of the most beautiful things here… And in the short time we have known each other I find my heart pounding and hands sweaty whenever you’re around. Is that gross?” He questioned. “Y/N, I feel like I have a middle school crush when I’m around you.”
You smiled and leaned in, catching Nick in a sudden kiss. He tensed up at first and then soon melted into the kiss, hands reaching around to your back to pull you closer to his body. His hands sprawled across your back, fingers digging into the soft fabric of the jacket. He deepened the kiss, tongue poking your bottom lip.
You smiled against his mouth and opened up, allowing him to pull you in. Your hands came to rest on his chest, feeling the muscle under the thin shirt he had on. You kissed each other slowly, exploring each other's mouths and testing the waters with what the other person liked.
After a bit, you both pulled away. Nick’s lips were shiny, pink, and slightly swollen. He looked even more kissable than before. He had an almost drunken smile on his face. He leaned forward again, this time resting your foreheads together.
“After camp, after summer is over, I’d love to take you on a real date. Restaurant, flowers, everything. What do you say?” He whispered.
“I’d be stupid to say no.”

Based off of the general silliness of the Sons of the Forest streams with impulse, skizz, grian, and scar
——
“Why did we get a tent this small?”
Impulse, Skizzleman, Grian, and Scar all looked down at the frankly tiny tent they’d just finished assembling together. Night was falling upon the forest they had found themselves in, and the four guys had stopped to set up camp.
“And this is the only tent we have?” Impulse asked incredulously, gesturing at it. “Out of the four of us, no one had the insight to bring another tent?”
“The economy is in shambles.” Grian replied.
“I thought you were our insight.” Skizz said, wrapping an arm around Impulse’s shoulders jovially.
“Yeah, there’s no other tents.” Scar said, having just finished looking through everyone’s bags.
“Well, fellas.” Grian said, clapping his hands together. “Looks like we’re gonna be cuddling tonight.”
Skizz cheered. “Cuddles with the homies? Say less!”
The four fellas got ready for bed, kicking out their campfire that had warmed their dinner before and setting out some wet clothes to dry. Scar, Skizz, and Grian got into the tent, a mess of limbs and blankets and pillows.
“Impulseeeee!” Grian whined. “Get in the cuddle pile so we can go to sleep!”
Impulse looked in on the three and gave them a withering look. “I think I’ll just sleep outside, thanks.”
There was an instant outburst at his statement, groaning and complaining from Skizz and Scar.
“Impulse, please get in the tent. I’ll hold your hand!” Grian said, holding out his hand and giving him the saddest look he could muster.
“I’ll blow everyone in this tent.” Scar said threateningly, holding up a grenade.
“You forgot the ‘up’, buddy.” Skizz said gently, trying not to laugh.
“Ugh, fine.” Impulse sighed, and made his way into the tent. He zipped it up behind them, and lay down next to Grian, as far away as he could be.
“Hey! I thought we were gonna hold hands!” Grian complained.
“Dippledop doesn’t like touchies.” Skizz told Grian and Scar. “It doesn’t stop me from trying to give him good morning kisses. And good night kisses. Speaking of-“ Skizz reached across Scar and Grian, mouth open and tongue out. Impulse grabbed Grian and used him as a meat shield, and Grian got his forehead slobbered on. Grian, naturally, shrieked, and the small tent dissolved into chaos for a moment, until Scar threatened to “blow everyone” again.
The four friends settled down once more, with Skizz and Scar quietly arguing over who would be the big spoon, and Grian refusing to let go of Impulse entirely, even though he was tossing and turning.
“Fellas, I can’t go to sleep without a bedtime story!” Grian said finally, breaking the silence.
“Awww, widdle Gri Gri needs a bedtime story! Do you want some milk and cookies too?” Scar cooed, then failed to dodge Grian’s pillow blow to the face.
“Alright children, settle down. I will tell you a bedtime story.” Skizz said, sitting up. “Once upon a time, there was a handsome man named Skizzleman. He was the hero of the village- sexy, bulging with muscles, attractive-”
“How many abs did he have?” Scar asked sleepily.
“Oh, at least thirty.” Skizz replied.
“Awesome.” Scar said.
“Anyway, the handsome hero of the village and his sidekick, Average Impulse, were fighting off a horde of mobs from a defenseless village.”
“Average Impulse?” Impulse asked, eyebrow raised.
“Oh yes, named for his average size.” Skizz told him knowledgeably. “He was pretty short, too.”
“Alright, that’s enough bedtime story for one night.” Impulse said over Grian and Scar’s snickers.
“But I’m not sleepy yet!” Grian complained.
“Scar could tell you facts about Disney until you fall asleep.” Skizz jokingly suggested.
Scar gasped. “Well, I never finished telling you about discontinued merchandise from the ride-”
“Maybe I just need some silence. Good night everyone.” Grian interrupted, putting his hand over Scar’s mouth and snuggling closer to Impulse. “Love you guys.”
“Love you too.”
“Love all you awesome people.”
“Mrph mph.” Scar said, and Grian took his hand away. “Love you all too.” he said.
The tent became quiet, just slow breathing and the shifting of blankets.
“Man, we’re so going to get attacked in the middle of the night.”
“Oh yeah, definitely.”

Hello! You are an absolute angel, your stories are so lovely and many of them have moved me to tears <3
I know it's a bit dark but I was wondering if you could do a Tech x f!reader where the reader is struggling with passive suicidal ideation (suicidal thoughts with no intent to act upon them) and feeling trapped inside her mind. Reader is touch starved and maybe Tech is too and they both find safety holding each other.
No worries if you can't do it! Thanks for making so many peoples' day including mine <3
Thank you! I'm glad you like my writing and decided to prioritize this since it's such a heavy topic.
Warnings: ongoing passive suicidal ideation mentioned, one moment of suicidal ideation involving a ledge with no intention to act
A/N: The squad is all back together again, but there is no mention of how. We don't need to know how right now, just that they're together. Also, I think this could be read as gender neutral reader.
Although Tech was not as demonstrative with his physical expressions in the same way Wrecker was, he would sometimes reach out and touch your shoulder or arm in a supportive way. He was not entirely sure of the line, but you always seemed to lean into his hand enough to let him know the feeling was welcome. You had all been looking for some place to lay low for the time being. A lot had happened and you did not want to lose each other. The squad was whole and you all wanted it to stay that way.
One evening on a forested moon you sat under the stars. There was a bit of a ledge not far from where the ship was parked and the campfire set up. Everyone was inside at the moment and you simply stared. It wasn't a far drop. Your mind fell into the trap of thinking what-ifs. You wrapped your arms around your shoulders and tried to shudder the thought away as Tech approached. He sat next to you and tried to read your expression.
"What is it?" he asked.
You looked down at your hands and took a calming breath as his warm presence settled next to you.
"Nothing," you replied.
"It's not nothing," he insisted softer than you'd ever heard him. "Tell me."
"I keep having these thoughts. Do you know what suicidal ideation is?"
Eyes wide he answered, "Of course I do, but what is the reason for this? How can I help?" His arms encircled you, although loosely, as his eyes followed yours to the ledge.
"It's passive, Tech. I won't do it. These thoughts come to mind and I can't seem to stop them or turn them off."
"Promise me you will come to me before acting on anything," he replied.
"I just said I won't do it," you said as your expression vulnerable expression pleaded for understanding.
"I know." He looked at you and nodded. "However, I won't have you experience this alone and I won't take chances."
You looked up at him and his arms seemed to hold you just a little more snugly. Your own snaked around his torso and you leaned into him. His embrace seemed to clear out the thoughts you had only moments ago.
"Breathe with me," he suggested. Your chests rose and fell in rhythm and you felt grounded in each other. It was soothing for him just as much as it was for you and you felt like your mind was more your own than it was just moments before.
"Will you stay with me tonight?" you asked.
"Of course. I'll stay with you every night if that is what it takes."
You stood up and he put out the fire before putting a hand on your back and walking onto the ship with you. You got settled into your bunk and he brought his pillow, laying so that you were between him and the wall. You leaned into each other and loosely left an arm around the other's waist.
"Promise me," he softly requested again.
"I promise I'll come to you."
"Good. I can't lose you."
He closed his eyes and rested his forehead to yours. In the quiet of the ship you fell asleep together.

I saw ur response about that arranged marriage au with Capitano and i can't stop myself from laughing just thinking about his soldier teaching him "How To Communicate with Your Lover 101" 😂
Like, imagine his soldiers asking him to demonstrate of how he usually express his love to reader 🤣 so, one of the fatui soldier decided to act as "his lover" and.. Oh boy, it went REALLY awkward bcs he just *STARES* at them like he is a monster staring into their prey's soul 😭
When they ask Capitano about it "..my lord, is that your way of expressing your affection towards your lover every single day?" and when he said yes, all of them just facepalm'd so hard and internally screaming "HOW THE HECC YOU EVEN THINK THAT AS 'SHOWING AFFECTION'-" 💀😭 Dear Tsaritsa, he has a long way to go.
I feel bad for the soldier tho, imagine u have to deal with so many things since u are a Fatui and then u have to help ur Captain with his love problems 😭
I'm sorry if this is messy but omg Smooches thank u for feeding me more Capitano brainrot bcs god... i REALLY want him so bad 😭😭 I hope u are doing well and have a great day! 💓🙏🛐
-🥝
RAHHHH I LOVE THIS!!! Fatui soldiers being the best wingmen for their boss. + If we think about it there's probably a book in Tevyat related to couples communication/advice 101, the soliders probably tell him that it might be more helpful than them (they're not sure how much longer they can last in this conversation) Capitano ends up purchasing multiple and now he reads them alone in his office and internally he thinks "damn couples actually do this? i messed up 😭 they hate me now 😭"
That poor soldier, being in the Captain's presence is already hard enough but having him standing in front of you, staring into the depths of your soul without a word?? They're not sleeping tonight. And now the soldiers have an amazing story to tell around the campfire at least, the time the 1st Harbinger demonstrated his ways of affection in front of them.
And he just keeps staring until one of the soldiers has the courage to interrupt and ask him if that's really how he shows affection and Capitano just... nods like it's normal. And now Capitano is not an idiot because he can still clearly see how his soldiers are scratching their heads awkwardly and sending each other strange looks, and he immediately knows that this was not a good demonstration in the slightest. He would just clear his throat and be like "ahem. apologies for wasting your time. back to training." And then the soldiers would honestly feel bad and throw him a little advice like "sir, maybe you should gift them something nice to show your appreciation for them." 🥺 "or perhaps lord capitano, maybe a letter would be nice!"
Though these good ideas he's still a bit lost, because 1. he doesn't know what you like very well, and he doesn't want to accidentally gift you something bad. But then he realizes he can just ask the attendants! Yes, this is going good. As for the letter... he wonders what he should ask you. Are you doing well? Normally these are questions you ask someone in person, especially since you two live in the same house... but you seem to be a bit on edge while he's around. Maybe writing it down will be easier for you too! Hopefully you'll respond.
No thank YOU for feeding me this omg you make me love Capitano 1000000x more ily 💖💖 I hope you're doing well too 🥝 anon mwah!
#smooches talks#🥝 anon#capitano love notes <3#UR MAKING ME BRAINROT ABT HIM SMMMM AHHH😭😭🙏#THE *STARES* IS SO FUNNY TO ME#literally canon tho bro thinks he's flirting but instead he's partaking in intimidation 101 💀

Summer Fic Week 2023 - Day 2: Tangled Up in You
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Reader
Work Summary:
You were supposed to have a tent to yourself, but unfortunately, Eddie snores.
Steve x Reader sharing a tent.
Rating: Teen and Up
Word Count: 2192
Read on AO3.
Masterlists.
Summer Fics Masterlist.
Taglist: @mrs-kai-anderson @ang3l1te @missryerye
Taglist info.
Notes:
No Upside Down AU but Billy still beat the crap out of Steve that one time.
Warnings for reader being a bit of a scaredy cat, mentions of serial killers and strangulation, spooky stories, allusions to emotional abuse (steve's parents), the existential nightmare of your late teens/early twenties, implied ronance
---
You were the last one up.
That wasn’t strictly true. You’d gone to bed, and gotten up again. Alone in your tent, you’d spooked yourself, thinking that shadows were figures standing outside, or the branches whipping in the wind were animals coming to get you.
So you’d picked up your blanket and gone back outside. The campfire was little more than dying embers right now, but you were fine with that. It was oppressively hot and humid tonight.
The five of you had brought three tents with you: Steve was sharing with Eddie, Robin with Nancy, and you had the small one all to yourself.
Normally, you would’ve just squeezed three people into a two-person tent, but you got the feeling that Nancy and Robin had plans that didn’t involve you. Besides, it was far too hot to be squished in like that.
Somewhere behind you, you heard a twig snapping. You tensed.
It was probably nothing. It was probably just a branch, caught in the wind. Or a small animal.
Definitely not a serial killer. Definitely not a bear or a wolf or a mountain lion.
You strained your ears, not daring to turn around. It was stupid, but you felt you were safe if you stayed still.
Nothing. It was almost certainly-
Another twig snapped, and you whipped your head around. There was a dark figure standing between the boys’ tent and the girls’ tent. You twisted in your seat and lost your balance, falling into a heap on the ground.
“Woah, woah, hey.” A flashlight flickered on. It was Steve.
You exhaled. “What the fuck?” You rubbed your nose, trying to hide how fast you were breathing.
“I had to go pee,” he said. “You’re jumpy tonight. Can’t sleep?”
“The scary stories may have been a mistake.” Even so, it was hilarious to watch the way Eddie threw himself into storytelling. He was a real artiste.
Nancy, too, was a surprising one. She wasn’t a performer like Eddie was, but she knew how to tell a story. On her turn, she’d talked about a serial killer who broke into people’s houses to torture and kill them, and you had felt your skin crawling.
That had been where your mind had instinctively gone when Steve’s shadow had loomed over you.
“I can’t sleep either.” He flopped down on a rock beside you. “Eddie snores,” he complained, and you chuckled. “I was thinking I might just sleep out here. It’s hot enough.”
“All alone? And let the Hawkins Strangler get you?” you teased, jabbing him in the side.
“Shut up,” he said. He might’ve been good at hiding it, but you were pretty sure that Steve was just as shook up by the scary stories as you were.
“You wanna share with me, instead? I don’t wanna go back in there alone.”
“You sure?”
“I can’t have you sleeping out here. Come on.” You gathered up your blankets and got to your feet. Steve stared at you, still not sure if you were serious. “We’ve shared rooms, like, hundreds of times.”
“As kids.”
“What’s the difference?” There was a big difference, but neither of you were going to say that. You held out a hand to him. He took it, and you tugged him to his feet.
You didn’t speak as he followed you into your tent. He had left his sleeping bag in his own tent, but it was so hot out that you decided to spread yours on the ground and use it as a mat rather than a cover.
Your tent was just about big enough for two people to lie side by side without touching each other, but it was hard to get comfortable. You didn’t want to encroach into his space.
As you rolled away from him, tucking a pillow under your head, he said “Regretting inviting me in?” His tone was light.
“Nah, you’re good. If the Hawkins Strangler shows up, you’re closer to the door, so he’ll get you first.”
“No way.” You heard him shift slightly, so you rolled back over to face him. All you could see was his silhouette. He was leaning up on one elbow. “I used to run track. He’ll never catch me.”
“So you’d leave me to be strangled?”
“No, of course not!” He nudged your arm. “I’d lead him away, giving you time to escape.”
“How? I can’t drive Eddie’s van.”
“I’m assuming Eddie and Robs and Nancy have already fallen victim to the Strangler in this scenario?”
“Of course. Eddie’s alone so he’d be taken first. Robin and Nancy are… distracted, so he’d get them next. But you and me, we’re alert. We’d be ready for him.”
“I would be. I already told you. I ran track. I could draw him away from you if you could drive the van, but you can’t, so you’re on your own.”
“So you’d leave me to die.”
“In a heartbeat.”
You giggled. “I don’t believe you.” Steve chuckled quietly. “I think you’ve got a heroic streak, Steve-o. I don’t buy you leaving without me.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Well, you did get the crap kicked out of you by Billy Hargrove when he was threatening Lucas that one time. That’s pretty heroic to me.”
Even in the darkness, you saw him wince. “Let’s talk about something else.”
“Why? Do compliments make you uncomfortable?”
“Don’t,” he said.
You leant up on your elbow. Your eyes were adjusting to the dark now, and you could see that he was rubbing the bridge of his nose.
“You amaze me sometimes, you know that? You used to think you were hot shit, when all you were was a rich guy who was good at sports, and now you’re getting all bashful on me when you’re one of the coolest people I know.”
He exhaled hard. “There’s nothing cool about working for the company my dad owns.”
You picked up your pillow and dropped it between you, and then folded your hands on top of it. He hadn’t technically started the job yet, but you knew it was the plan, after the summer was over.
His dad had gotten to him. No son of mine is going to work in a video store in his twenties. You could practically hear his dad’s voice booming in your ears. Growing up, you had been witness to far too many shouting matches between Steve and his father.
You’d been friends with him since elementary school, so you’d seen each other at your highest and your lowest.
“Fuck working for your dad. You like Family Video!”
“It’s not a career.” Even then, you could hear the echo of his father’s voice in Steve’s.
“Well, we both know you’d be a great fireman, or a nurse, or a teacher-”
“Nobody wants me looking after their kids.”
“Are you kidding me?” You slapped his shoulder lightly with the back of your hand. “You’re great with kids. If I had kids, you’d be the first person I’d call to take care of them.”
‘Ideally, you’d be their dad’ was what you didn’t say.
You had always thought you would marry Steve, ever since you were little. He was sweet and kind and funny, and he was your best friend.
Then high school happened, and you became very different people. You never hung out at school, and eventually you stopped hanging out at weekends too. He always had a party to go to, or a date with some hot, popular girl. He didn’t have space in his life for you anymore.
During senior year, things changed again. Nancy had dumped him, Tommy and Carol had abandoned him to hang out with Billy instead, and he was alone.
You had wondered if he would come crawling back to you then, but he didn’t. You had your own friends by that point, and no desire to revisit the heartaches of the past.
He had graduated quietly, and started working at Scoops Ahoy. That was where you reconnected. Robin was a friend of yours, and for a while, they were attached at the hip. Hanging out with Robin meant hanging out with Steve.
You had been reticent at first, but it didn’t take long to realise that the little boy you had always loved was back. No more King Steve. Just Stevie. Just the boy who punched a kid twice his size in the face for making fun of your shoes.
Except now he was taller. More mature. Handsomer. You wondered if you would ever stop fantasising about spending the rest of your life with him. It didn’t seem like it was going to happen at any point soon.
“Are you still awake?” he whispered.
“Yeah.”
“Good. You went quiet.”
“You went quiet first.”
“Yeah… Well…” He took a deep breath. “Do you really think I could do it? Be a teacher, I mean?”
“Steve…” You chuckled softly. “I think you’d do it better than anyone. I think-”
Just outside the door of your tent, there was a loud crunch. You gasped, scrambling away from the noise. Unfortunately, ‘away’ in this case meant towards Steve.
The back of your head hit his shoulder, but instead of pushing you away, he sat up, putting an arm around you. “It’s okay, it’s okay,” he whispered, and you weren’t sure if he was trying to reassure himself or you.
“Knock knock!”
You exhaled. Eddie.
“What do you want, Eds? It’s like, four in the morning,” you said.
“Have you seen Harrington? He wasn’t there when I woke up.”
You glanced at Steve, who huffed out a laugh. “I’m right here, Munson. Your snoring woke me up.”
Eddie made an offended noise. “I do not snore.”
You rolled your eyes. “Go back to bed, Eds. Stop sneaking around like some kind of ghoul. I nearly pissed myself.”
“And stop being so damn loud,” Steve added. “You’re gonna wake up Nancy and Robin.”
“Oh, I highly doubt they’re sleeping.”
“Get lost, Munson!”
“Alright, geez.” You could picture Eddie throwing his hands up in frustration. “If you’d have told me I was gonna be the fifth wheel on this trip, I wouldn’t have come.” It was a joke, but your heart felt like it had flipped over in your chest.
Eddie’s footsteps receded. It took far too long for you to realise that you were practically sitting in Steve’s lap.
“Sorry, am I crushing you?” You tried to shift off him, but Steve’s arm curled around your waist.
“Sometimes I think you’re the only person in the world who believes in me,” he said, sounding wistful. “You’re my best friend, you know that?”
“Don’t let Robin hear you say that,” you joked. He didn’t say anything. You realised, half a second too late, that he was trying to be sincere. You didn’t do well with sincere. It was easier to talk about your feelings if it was a joke. Still, you’d try. For Steve, you’d try. “You’re my best friend too. But you already know that. You’re like the other half of me.”
“Like my soulmate.”
“Exactly. Soulmates.”
Steve shifted, moving to lie back down. You felt yourself moving with him, until you were lying down with your head on his chest.
“Sometimes I get scared I’m gonna lose you,” he said. “’Cause you’re going off to college. You’re gonna meet some smart guy and get married and have babies and I’m gonna lose you forever.”
“Steve…”
“The ridiculous thing is…” He laughed mirthlessly. “That was half the reason I wanted to work for my dad in the first place. So I could travel around a lot. I could be close to you. And I might not be a smart guy, but I’d be a rich guy, and that’s almost as good.”
“Steve.” You leant up on his chest, forearm resting across his ribcage. You pretended that you couldn’t feel his heart thundering beneath you. “You don’t have to lose me. And you don’t have to work for your dad. I just want you to be happy.”
“You make me happy.” His fingertips brushed against your cheekbone.
“I’m not gonna run away to get married right out of college. Especially not if I have someone to come home to.”
“Someone like me?”
You swallowed. Your throat was dry. “If you want me.”
“Be mine?” He said it so quietly that if you hadn’t been holding your breath, you might not have heard him.
You pushed yourself up so that you could press your lips against his. His other arm came to wrap around you immediately. You splayed your hands across his collarbone, savouring the flavour of his lips. You could taste the marshmallows he’d been eating earlier.
He broke apart from you for a moment, and you rested your forehead against his.
“I wanna be a teacher,” he said, breathlessly, and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“And I wanna come home to you every break. I want you to come see me at college. I wanna be yours, and I want you to be mine.”
“Baby…” His hands massaged at your waist, sending shivers down your spine. “I’ve always been yours.”

Embry Call imagine - Campfire
It was already nighttime when I got back to Forks, but just in time for me to get changed before heading to the res. Tonight was the campfire night held by the ancients and I was invited by my boyfriend Embry. People like me, who were not from the tribe, weren’t supposed to be here, but because I was Embry’s imprint I had the right to come.
I was getting closer to my friends group, and Embry was amongst them. Sensing my arrival, he came to meet me.
“ Hey
Hey baby, he said, holding me in his muscular arms. Everything okay on the road ?
Yeah, a bit of rain at the start, but that’s nothing new. But it was okay”
I just came back from a conference in Seattle that I was really looking forward to and I couldn’t miss it under any pretext. This long day must have been tiring me, especially the three-hour ride my mom and I did, because I started to yawn. Which made him laugh as he joked
“ Don’t you dare fall asleep during the stories! You’ll offend Billy and Sue.
I wouldn't dare ! I said,laughing.”
But obviously, the opposite quite happened..
We were all seated around the campfire, listening to the Quileutes legends, and were told by Jacob’s father and Sue, who took the place of her late husband at the council since poor Harry Clearwater passed away.
Another particularity of this night was the presence of Bella. Jake took her and I was not the only “pale face” present tonight. It was Jake’s turn to protect her, because, as Embry told me, Edward was gone hunting to get some force before the upcoming fight. Which was getting me nervous.
I went to say hi to her when I saw her coming. We were at the same high school and had the american literature class in common. We get along pretty well and I was happy to see her even if her relationship with a vampire and the pain Jacob was getting from it made me feel awkward.
Even Though I knew the secret around the Quileutes and their transformation into wolves, and being Embry’s imprint, I never heard the legends of the tribe. This is why he took me there and I was delighted. The explanation due to their mutation related to the presence of their longtime enemy, the vampires of course, made me turn to see Bella, who was seated next to Jacob. Embry followed my gaze, chuckling, even though I knew deep down that he was simmering with hate towards these creatures of the night.
However, when Billy Black mentioned the tense atmosphere in the area and the transformation of more and more young Quileutes, such as Leah or Seth and the fact that we got to be ready for whatever was coming made me quickly hold my boyfriend’s arm while hearing those words. The idea of the fight got me so stressed. He placed his hand on my thigh and gently kissed my forehead.
He didn’t seem afraid, unlike me. I leant my head on his shoulder and he reassured me, or at least tried to, telling me in my ears that everything will be alright. But I couldn’t stop imagining the worst. My life without him will have no meaning.
The more the legends were being told the more my eyelids were getting heavy. I did exactly what I promised myself not to, the tiredness of the journey to Seattle got the best of me.
Those were Paul and Quil’s laughs who woke me up. Embry started to growl by way of disapproval but they still continued their teasing, calling us ‘lovebirds' '.
“ I really fell asleep ! Oh no !” I said, rubbing my eyes.
I gave an embarrassed side look to Sue and Billy and also to Embry because I really wanted to hear those stories. Just as he read my mind he told me
“Don’t worry it’s no big deal that you fell asleep. They know you really wanted to listen, after the countless time you asked them to
Yeah but still…
No worries, you’ll come back next time.”
With this he took me in his arms as if I weighed nothing and carried me to his place, not without saying goodbye to his packlates. It was clear that I was fighting against sleep on the way, only to talk with my man. But I was so good and cozy, my body against his warm chest, him who did not fear the cold, unlike me. I closed my eyes of contentment.
“ We’re home my love”. He dropped me on his bed and helped me put my pajamas on, which was one of his shirts. It was way too long for me but it really did the job. There was his scent on hit, which made me think of home. He was everything to me, my home, my universe, my life.
“ Are you going on patrol tonight?, I worried
No Sam gave me the night but I should go at dawn. But I’ll be back before you know it”
I only could make a “hum” in appreciation, my head against his torso and him stroking my hair, which only emphasized my sleep.
“Stop this ! If not I will fall asleep baby”
Go to sleep, I’ll be back when you wake up and you’ll tell me about Seattle.”
I love you Em’, I said, kissing him tenderly and got back in my sleeping position, my head on his chest, his heartbeat bullying me to sleep.
I love you too princess”

Terror at Sunset Point
Note: This is a three-part fic for my friend @s-talking and their OC, Envy. It was meant for the summer, but I fell behind on it. I hope you enjoy my work!
The story is based on headcanons and threads and may be subject to change.
Triggers: Torture, Blood, Gore, Body horror, Death, Eye Gore, Eye Trauma
Part 1: The Nightmare Begins
Part 2
There is something amiss at Sunset Point. The beautiful forest in Mississippi is home to Camp Sunny Smiles where children spend their days making crafts, swimming, hiking, and singing songs around the campfire. However, Sunset Point has its own dark secrets, a place where restless souls meet their end at the hands of one of Mississippi’s notorious serial killers. Though that ugly truth remains hidden beneath the brush and blood red poppies.
The very flowers that come from the Little Killer’s victims.
However, authorities assured everyone Sunset Point is safe. The Little Killer has not been spotted near the camp. The past week has been fun-filled adventures for the little campers under the guidance of counselors. Nothing could go wrong!
Absolutely nothing!
At least…Until to this very night.
Tonight, the full moon illuminates the dense wilderness surrounding Camp Sunny Smiles. All the children were accounted for and sound asleep, safe and sound in their cabins. However, some of the counselors use this as an opportunity to be up to no good.
Hushed whispers between a couple no older than nineteen join the rustling of the leaves. The crickets’ serenade and frogs’ singing mask the quiet giggles breaking up the whispers.
“Tim, are you sure about this?” The female counselor whispers but she continues to trek through the leaves, hand in hand with her boyfriend.
“Why not? The kids are asleep, and the director won’t know anything!”
“I know but what about Harmony? You know what she’ll do if she finds us here.”
“Darla, shush!” Tim hushes her, “Harmony isn’t patrolling the campgrounds right now. I saw her going into her cabin. It looked like she was distracted since she got that letter yesterday. Still didn’t tell me whom it’s from.” Tim adds with a shrug. “Do you think it’s a love letter from Frank? He’s obsessed with her.” “Haha! He doesn’t have a chance with her! Harmony told him a million times she had a boyfriend back home. Could be that guy, you know? Frank was all mopey since then.” Tim dismisses that bit of gossip with a wave of his hand. “Oh, yeah. He sounds like a creep, honestly, but Harmony won’t shut up about him. I told her to give Franky a chance.” Darla answers, “He can be forward sometimes, but he’s a great guy!” She adds, that her attempts to set the other two counselors up always failed. “I would drop that. She seems to be in love with her guy back home. Anyway, she’s distracted so this is our chance!” He grins from ear to ear as he and Darla make their way out of the brush for their destination.
“Well, okay. If you’re sure…but what about the Little Killer?” Darla asks, “What if he’s out there? I really don’t want to cross paths with him!” She shudders with dread, her blue eyes shut tight. “Aw, come on! He ain’t here! Police looked around hundreds of times. This area is safe! Plus, I’m here to protect you, babe!” Tim grins once more and his muscular chest puffed out. Darla laughs as she and the other counselor enter a secluded place. The small clearing is surrounded by towering trees where they see the brilliant stars above them. Darla gasps to find a small fire pit set up with a blue tartan blanket spread over the grass nearby. A string of fairy lights cast a warm glow over the cozy scene which is complete with a few pillows and a picnic basket.
“Oh, Tim! You shouldn’t have!” She squeals with delight. “Oh, but I did!” The male counselor takes her hand and leads her to the scene. “I figured we deserve a romantic evening, y’know?”
It seems almost too good to be true! Tim’s plan fell into place with nothing going wrong. But the counselors have no idea that it can change at any time.
They are unaware of the unfolding terror that will come their way.

Yule Ghost Story
One summer night in July at Good Enough Creek Evan, Jaimee, Rayden, and Raisen went camping. They were all sitting around the campfire, having just finished their smores. It was getting late, and it was almost time for the two children to go to bed when Evan began to tell them a story. (Yes, I'm doing a story in a story deal with it, lol)
"On a dark night like tonight, a child while going to the restroom lost his way..." said Daddy Evan in his most creepy voice. "The boy as he walked lost started saying to himself 'man wouldn't it be scary if...' INTERRUPTING SASQUATCH!!!"
"Ahh!!!" yelled Rayden in fear.
"That wasn't even scary, just load," said Jaimee with an eye roll.
"O whatever monsters, go to bed before the real sasquatch comes out of hiding and eats you," said Evan.
"Sasquatch ain't real!" Rayden said excitedly.
"O get to bed. I got to put out the fire and go potty." Evan said as the boys climbed into the tent.
The two boys quickly changed into their pjs and snuggled into their sleeping bags. The light from the fire outside slowly went out as their father poured a bucket after a bucket of water onto the fire. They listened closely as they could hear him walk away from the campground towards the vault bathrooms up in the parking lot. Time went on for a while without any noise or light outside the tent. The boys got nervous as time went on and on without their fathers return. Then suddenly... With no warning... Something bumped the outside of the ten... Both children were struck with fear! They remained silent for a bit in fear that whatever bumped the tent was standing right outside. After what felt like a few minutes to the children, Rayden whispered softly one word... "Sasquatch."
"Shh, there's no such thing." whispered Jaimee while trying to hide the fact he was trembling.
"It was, it was! When he bumped the tent, I heard the fur slide across!"
"O, it could have been any animal type, Rayden! Daddy says theirs mice, or it could have been a bunny even!"
"It was too big! It's too big, it's a Sasquatch! It's going to interrupt us!"
"Rayden, that was just a story Daddy said to scare us, try to sleep please I'm tires."
Again, the boys went silent in the dark, waiting for their father to return. The dead silence went on for what felt to them was an eternity. Then it started... it was soft and barely noticeable at first. A light russiling as if something was walking outside of the tent in the grass. It seemed to have started somewhere near the creek bed a few yards away but was coming back towards the tent... slowly, the noise came closer before suddenly stopping. A few seconds later, a sound came from the front of the tent as if someone was touching the zipper.
"O, no," whispered Rayden.
"It's probably just Daddy trying to get in," whispered Jaimee. "Daddy's flash light batteries probably died."
"O, well, go help him then," suggested Rayden.
Jaimee undid his sleeping bag and began to crawl toward the sounds in the front of the tent. He thought to himself that his dad wasn't the smartest struggling with the zipper like this, if it even was his father. What if it was Sasquatch? This thought crossing his mind made Jaimee shake as he began to unzip the tent.
Jaimee only got the tent zippers, maybe four inches apart, when the sudden burst of fur. Jaimee screamed in terror as he felt the furry creature force its way in against his hand he quickly turned crawling as fast as he could towards Rayden in the other corner of the tent. When he arrived, they imbraced each other a hug, both screaming in horrible fear! They could hear every terrifying foot step of the beast as it quickly approached them! Without warning, the beast jumped onto them! The boys screamed the loudest screams they've ever screamed in their lives! Jaimee could feel the beasts warm tongue tasting his face... Suddenly, a beam of light shined upon them from the entrance of the tent!
"What are you two idiots yelling about?" asked their father from the entrance. "O, that's where Raisen been!"
The furry creature in front of the boys was, in fact, Raisen the puppy! The end.

Some are born great. Some achieve greatness. And some have greatness thrust upon ‘um.
Then there’s some that will inherit greatness from a bald-headed cholo called Spooky. Or just you specifically. How the world set up this relationship is one to share as a story around the campfire, or the rundown grill that feeds the many mouths of the Santo trap house in Freeridge.
Oscar gets tired of this story but you love to tell it to remind him and everyone of your princesa status that’ll reign for all eternity. Some call you stuck up but you call it blessed.
It began with your junior year. You were one to blend with many crowds, with your impressive intelligence, quick-wit humor and overall grace. There was no one you couldn’t get along with. It was universally impossible for a single person to dislike you! Though you were certain there were some that seemed to like you but could be a different story when you weren’t around.
But for the most part, you were everyone’s bestie. Well everyone except one: Oscar Diaz. Yes, the later to be love of your life, actually despised you. So immensely that you were certain he had a “I hate Y/N!” altar in his room.
Oscar had joined the santos during the summer going to junior year and he made it painfully clear how you were not all that and bag of crackers. The way the two of you would sneer at each other in the hallways. Nasty remarks and even attempts at social embarrassment.
“Ay, she does bend over nicely!” Oscar called out once after he hit your textbooks from your grasp. You only rolled your eyes as you bent down to gather them.
Once you do, you straighten your posture and stride over to him, “Now you know what you’ll never have. Keep that tucked away in that little brain of yours, m’kay? Go ham tonight with the lotion.”
A time where you purposely flipped your lunch tray on him and he spewed curses at you. The crowd egged him on as you laughed. You pouted and flew a bunch of napkins at him, eventually strutted away unbothered.
Or when Oscar came across studying in the library and put his phone under your chair, having one of his homies play ‘Me So Horny’ by The 2 Live Crew. Everyone has moved to look at you. You were so embarrassed because you had no idea where it was coming from but it was certainly coming from where you sat. A snickering Oscar gave you a clue what it was.
The list could go on and on with how much the two despised one another, the amount of pranks pulled against each other or the names that one called the other. Junior year seemed longer than it should have with all that plus life in general.
Then came the night of senior prom. The night that changed everything between you and Oscar. It wasn’t the he asked you or anything. It’s when he stepped in during an altercation of a guy not taking no for an answer.
Oscar Diaz was many things, but he would never let a woman be disrespected like that. You thanked him but stormed off, losing all interest in enjoying the night at prom. Oscar had caught up with you on your walk back home.
“You gonna walk home in heels like that?” He asks after getting into step with you.
You only scoff and keep your arms crossed over your chest, the cold makes it hard to keep a steady breath. Upon feeling something placed over your shoulders, you stop walking: Oscars flannel. A confused face forms over and you look at him.
His eyes were soft. Pools of dark amber, glistening under the street lights. He clears his throat and looks down the street. “Let me walk you. Streets ain’t safe to walk alone.”
“I’m at the end of this street, I’m fine, really.” You say softly.
“A lot can happen. Pues, it would ease my mind to know you get in safely.” He admits and your eyes widen. Heart thumping. You smile and nod, walking with him besides you.
There were no words to describe what would come next.
Suddenly, curt nods were given instead of disgusted looks. Kind words were exchanged instead of nasty ones. Study period became excuses to talk to one another. The rest of senior year became the start of Oscar and Y/N. How everything had shifted from one night.
“Enemies to lovers, she says. Like the fuckin’ books she reads.” He comments when you finish telling the story of how you two started dating by graduation of high school.
The ladies swoon at the thought of the good girl getting a chance with the bad boy that everyone was in love with. Oscar wouldn’t admit it but it made him smile at the thought of getting that chance with you.
After a night of good company with the guys and their ladies, the two of you check in for the night. A hot shower later, you’re laying back as Oscar massages lotion into your skin. His hands are gifted, in more ways than one.
“For you.” He says, your eyes opening to see a covered box in his hands.
You’re taken by surprise but not entirely, Oscar loves to shower you with gifts. You are completely spoiled with anything you have your eye on. You even swear he can read your mind and see the things you have interest in.
You sit up and take it, opening it and feeling your mouth fall open slightly. “Purple roses and baby’s breath… just like m-”
“Floral arrangement you had at prom. Prom happened on this night 7 years ago. That night I took my chance with you.” He interrupts you, his voice faltering slightly. “I was the biggest puto to you because you were able to get anyone to like you. You were universal and I admired that shit. But I didn’t know how to say it or show you. Pero.. I’m glad I eventually did.”

Ok so you said in your Safe With Me one shot that Adaman was flirting with them against a tree while others were watching.... I really REALLY want to see this if you want... 💙💚💜
Is It Hot In Here? (Adaman x Reader)
Summary: Nights in Hisui are spent around campfires with the members of the Diamond Clan. However, a certain clan leader seems to notice your gaze...
Word count: 1487
Warnings: Like one suggestive line but nothing else
Notes: When I say I giggled when I saw this, I MEANT it anon. Thank you so much for the request! I feel like it's a little short but I hope you enjoy!!
-
When night fell, night fell fast.
Hisui had the nicest sunsets. You’d grown up staring out over views, over the region’s rolling hills, watching as yellow hit the horizon and blended into hues of orange and red and purple.
Sometimes, there was a flash of green, only caught when you didn’t blink as the sun disappeared on good days. As a child, you’d squatted on your haunches long after everybody had stopped watching, holding your breath, barely hoping as you stared straight at the setting sun before there, a green flash across the horizon before the sun was gone.
That had always been you as a kid- too curious for your own good.
Maybe it was an advantage.
Now, you sat around a fire. Various members of the Diamond Clan were out, clustered around different fires around the settlement. Your fire was confined to familiar figures, leaders of the clan. Mai, Arezu, Melli, and… Adaman.
Sabi would sometimes be here from time to time, but the odd girl wasn’t here tonight. When you’d asked why, nobody had an answer.
It was fine. You just worried about the younger members sometimes- maybe because you were seen as one of the leaders of Diamond Clan while not even being a technical part of the clan.
The night was cool and a soft breeze blew across the camp. The air was filled with the sounds of talking, laughter, and overall friendship.
It brought the smallest of smiles to your face as you tipped your head to the sky and watched the clouds, painted light pink as the sun set slowly.
Across the fire sat Adaman, who was talking with Melli about something. He looked gorgeous in the lighting here- the red of the fire against the cool blue of his outfit and the brown in his eyes sent something warm stirring in the pit of your stomach, and you couldn’t help but swallow and hope he didn’t notice how you stared.
Abruptly, the clan leader looked up and met your eyes. The smirk on his face was so smug that you briefly considered calling him out on it. Your embarrassment, however, got the best of you, and you quickly averted your eyes.
He has such nice eyes.
The thoughts you had about Adaman were downright disgraceful sometimes. While Adaman seemed to consider you just as a friend- albeit with some flirting, but he did that with everyone- you couldn’t help but think about him almost constantly.
He was strong and kind, with a smile that put everyone around at ease and natural leadership that immediately got people where they needed to be. He protected effortlessly and never showed any fear under pressure.
He was… incredible. You couldn’t help but have a crush on him- after all, who wouldn’t?
The thing was, it was a hopeless situation. Adaman remained completely ignorant of your infatuation.
It was rather embarrassing. You wished that you, one of the most highly regarded members of the Diamond Clan, didn’t have such an obvious crush on your leader.
Alas. You couldn’t control a thing.
“Hey, you still with us?”
You glanced up from the fire, blinking. Mai was looking at you concernedly.
Forcing a chuckle, you nodded. “I’m fine! Just got lost in thought.”
“About what?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
You stuttered on a response, before your face warmed and you swallowed as your eyes flicked to Adaman. He was talking to Melli and Arezu happily, listening to a story Melli was telling.
“Ah,” Mai said softly as you quickly looked away again. “I see.”
“No, no, you don’t. I wasn’t- Pokémon. I was thinking about Pokémon. As usual, you know?”
Mai wasn’t usually one to poke at you, but from the look on her face, she was feeling a lot more playful than usual.
“Wanna elaborate on the Pokémon you were thinking about?” she asked, a slow smile spreading across her face.
“Mai,” you complained, before an interruption across from the two of you drew your attention away.
Melli stood, pointing at Adaman with an annoyed expression on his face. “We’re going to continue this conversation.”
“Sure,” Adaman agreed sarcastically, a smirk curving up his face as he plopped his head into his hand.
“Once I get more firewood.”
“Oh, of course.” Adaman agreed, being a little shit. As usual.
You, grateful at any opportunity to get away from Mai, stood quickly. “I’ll get it, Melli. You can… continue whatever is going on here.”
“You,” the warden pointed at you with a sharp grin. “Are a lifesaver.” Melli turned his gaze back to Adaman. “Get ready, mate.”
But Adaman wasn’t looking at Melli. Adaman, his head still gently propped in his hand, was gazing at you.
You met his eyes, and, for a moment, it was just the two of you. Adaman gazing up at you, you looking down at him. You could feel Mai and Arezu’s eyes on the two of you, along with some of the other clan members nearby, and that didn’t make it any better.
You shook yourself out of it. “Um. I’ll be right back.”
You walked away fast before your body could get the best of you, face hot. As you quickly made your way to the pile of firewood, close to the fireplaces so everybody could grab some quick, your name was called behind you.
You stopped and turned.
Adaman was approaching at a quick pace. Eyes widening, your thoughts began to race at a mile a minute.
What does he want? Why is he coming after me? Should I be worried? I can’t just run, what am I supposed to do-
Adaman just… kept walking. He was ten steps from you. Then seven. Then three. And suddenly he was close to you, and you just… kept backing up.
And Adaman kept going after you until- bump. Your back gently hit the back of a tree. The tree firewood was under. The tree right in the area where all the members of the Diamond Clan could see you and their leader.
“Skittish, hm?” Adaman asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Why’d you keep walking towards me?” you demanded.
“Why, you never asked me to stop,” Adaman said. His tone was light and full of it, and you loved every aspect of it. Your face was hot- you were thankful the sun was mostly set, because the thought of Adaman seeing how flustered he made you had you completely obliterated.
“Thought it was, um…” you lost your train of thought when Adaman leaned closer. He shamelessly raised his arm and put it above you, trapping you in so you could see nothing but his face, his lazy smirk, his half-open gaze looking you up and down before settling to meet your gaze.
“You’re cute when you blush,” he muttered, his breath just barely fanning lightly over your skin.
You were lost for words and utterly obliterated. The ground felt like it was falling away from your feet, and yet you’d never been so attuned to being pressed up against a tree.
“Um-” you stammered. “I- well-”
“I could show you what it’s really like to get all hot and bothered,” Adaman said lowly, leaning closer so his hair tickled your neck and his lips were almost touching your ear. “If you’d let me.”
“Adaman-” you started, leaning away on something like instinct, but immediately, the clan leader leaned back. His arm went away from above you, he stepped away, and he just gave you a wink and a smirk before he calmly sauntered back to the campfire, leaving you in the middle of the camp, still up against the tree.
You huffed, ducking your head down, burying your head in your hands as you tried to get a handle on yourself.
What the hell was that?! Did I just imagine that? Adaman really just did that. In front of everyone.
“What a tease,” you grumbled to yourself. It was frustrating. Ridiculous.
You turned and scooped up some more firewood from the tree’s collection, grumbling all the way.
Upon putting the firewood down back at your campfire, conversation had returned to normal. Adaman was listening to Melli rant to him with a satisfied, almost bored expression on his face while the others chatted together.
However, when you sat down, Mai and Arezu looked at you with raised eyebrows.
You just looked at them. They looked at you.
Neither of them said anything before a slow smirk spread across Mai’s face. “Are you hot?” she asked innocently.
“No,” you said quickly.
“Your face indicates otherwise,” Arezu said, gesturing to you with a grin.
You huffed. “Don’t mention it.”
Your eyes found Adaman again several times throughout the night, and you couldn’t help but wonder…
Had he really meant what he said to you? And if he did, that begged the question:
Did Adaman feel the same about you as you felt about him?

fluffy smutty i’ll take any! i wanna give you freedom so you can enjoy writing it as mush as i’ll enjoy reading it
Hi there! First of all, I'm so sorry this took me so long to write! I hope you will enjoy it, I sure enjoyed writing some fluffy cowboy stuff in the summer evening! :33
“Rest now, my love” - Pre-Entity!Caleb Quinn/The Deathslinger x GN!Reader
Cw; alcohol
The summer night was as hot as the day had been. The sun had set but left behind the scorching heat only a big desert sun can emit. You didn’t mind the heat though, nothing could ruin your mood when you were with Caleb. Walking side by side with the leader of the Hellshire gang, his big, strong hand holding yours, you felt as safe as ever. The two of you had been in town for the evening, visiting the saloon and Caleb’s friends. Now you were walking out of town, back to Caleb’s camp. Caleb was telling a story about how he and O’Sullivan almost got bitten by a bunch of venomous snakes during a mission. The amount of snakes always seemed to double every time he told this story.
“... but then I took out my gun and I shot the bastard dead, and let the snakes have him instead! Me and O’Sullivan were fast out of there, I can tell you that much!”
You laughed at Caleb’s story and squeezed his hand.
“I thought you let him live?” you snickered, remembering the last time he told this story.
Caleb raised his eyebrows at you, then laughed.
“I thought I was telling the story here!”
You giggled and waved your hand dismissively at him.
“Fine, fine, I won’t interfere again!”
Caleb smirked at you, then stopped in his tracks to give you a quick peck on the cheek.
“How you feelin’?” he asked, as you continued walking towards camp.
“Good”, you replied. “A bit exhausted, but that’s all.”
At this, you could feel Caleb’s concerned stare burning holes in the side of your head.
“Stop that”, you said, rolling your eyes with a tired smile.
“What?”
“That! You don’t have to be worried about me, darling, I’m good!”
You looked at Caleb, who quickly looked straight forward in an attempt to hide his worrying gaze.
“I know you are, I just… I’m sorry, I know”, he said, squeezing your hand.
You approached Caleb’s camp, and found that none of the other members of the Hellshire gang had returned from town yet, so you had the whole camp to yourselves.
“I think the boys might be sleeping in the saloon tonight, if I know them right”, Caleb chuckled, and got up to his tent to bend down and search it.
He soon stood up straight again, holding a bottle of fine whiskey in his hand. You grinned at him and sat down at the campfire, or what remained of it from earlier.
“Bringing out the fine stuff tonight, eh?”
“I thought it might help you get some sleep later”, Caleb replied, and sat down next to you.
“How considerate of you”, you snickered, grabbing the bottle from him and taking a big swig from it.
Caleb chuckled at your enthusiasm, his arm around your waist as he pulled you close. You had trouble sleeping, it was no secret. You don’t remember when this problem had started, but it was as much a part of you now as anything else. When you met Caleb, he quickly caught on about your problem, and he still to this day tried to help you out as much as he could. It was kind of cute.
“You know”, Caleb mulled as he stroked your waist with his hand. “I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who enjoys this type of whiskey as much as I do, until I met you, that is.”
You smiled and took another swig from the bottle, then handed it to Caleb.
“What can I say, I’m full of surprises!”
Caleb chuckled, giving you a warm kiss on the lips.
“That you are, darlin’.”
He put down the whiskey bottle on the ground so he could cup your cheek with his free hand, and you closed your eyes and let yourself be embraced. He was always so gentle when touching you, his big, strong hands soft and careful, totally opposite of the kind of person he was when he was around the boys. You liked his duality, you liked his gentle touches, his caress.
“My, you smell good…” you heard him mumble, and you smiled with your eyes still closed.
“Sweat and dirt, darlin’”, you whispered, and the next second you felt Caleb’s face close to yours.
You could feel his breath on your cheek, the scent of whiskey and tobacco reaching your nostrils. His scent always made you feel safe. Like coming home to a warm cabin after being out in the freezing cold. You felt Caleb’s thumb carefully grace your lip, and soon your lips met in a warm kiss. You lifted up your arms and tossed them around his neck, holding him closer as your kiss deepened. Caleb was a good kisser, that had surprised you the first time you’d kissed. A man with such a foul mouth being able to enchant you with those same lips was a mystery to you, but a mystery you loved tasting. The two of you remained like that, kissing and embracing in the warm night, the whiskey bottle forgotten a long time ago. Caleb playfully nibbled on your lower lip, and this made you giggle. You could feel him grinning in the kiss, and this made your heart soar. This man was your everything, your whole world. Suddenly, you broke off the kiss and cupped his face in your hands, looking him deep in the eyes.
“I think I’m in love with you, Caleb Quinn”, you whispered.
Caleb blinked a couple of times, then a big smile grew on his lips. He kissed you, and as he retracted he looked at you.
“I love you too, Y/N”, he whispered. “Always have.”
You felt your heart skip a beat at these words, and the night suddenly felt like a big, warm hug. Your whole body became warm, and you knew this was indeed what safety felt like. You smiled, stroking his cheek with your hand. And there you remained, just holding each other in the comfortable silence.
You felt Caleb shift beside you, and suddenly you sat straight up on the log you were sitting on. You must have drifted off.
“Hey there, sleepy head”, Caleb whispered. “Come lay down next to me.”
You looked to your side, and Caleb got up from the log and held out his hand for you to grab. You let out a little yawn and took his hand.
“Let’s sleep under the stars tonight, shall we?” Caleb proposed, and you nodded.
So you pulled out your sleeping bags on the ground next to the logs and the campfire and got settled in. But your sleepiness had already faded away, so the two of you laid on the ground chatting for hours instead. You loved talking with Caleb, he had so many things to tell, so many musings to share. As the sun peeked behind the tree tops, you snuggled up to Caleb and closed your tired eyes. Both of you knew that if you did get to sleep now, it wouldn’t be long before you woke up again, but you still wanted to try and get some rest. Feeling the warmth of Caleb’s chest against your cheek, you inhaled his scent and got comfortable in his arms. Caleb stroked your hair lightly.
“I’m not gonna tell you to ‘rest’ cus I know it ain’t that easy”, he mumbled, pressing his lips to your forehead.
You smiled tiredly, eyes still closed, and said: “I like it when you tell me to rest, actually. Your voice always calms me down.”
Caleb hugged you close.
“Well then”, he said. “Rest now, my love.”

so i suddenly got motivated and wrote this in one sitting. just some mercs sitting around a campfire and a lot of fluff.
-campfire stories- [tf2]
the sun had retreated from the horizon a good thirty minutes ago, and the team was gathered around the makeshift fire engie and soldier had put together behind the base. pyro had taken to keeping the flames fed; retrieving dead sticks from the edge of the woods and encouraging the fire to grow.
engie had grilled hotdogs and hamburgers on the his self-built grill for about an hour, occasionally switching out with demo to grab a bite to eat himself. he even managed to produce a few german-style sausages for the doc, who’s eyes lit up at the sight. a chorus of thanks and finger licking made sure the texan knew his hard work was much appreciated.
they gathered around the fire after that, chatting amongst themselves for a brief moment before demo called attention to himself, proclaiming he had a ghost story that was bound to knock their boots off.
pyro clapped excitedly, quite partial to demo’s story telling superpowers.
“just don’t make it too scary; some of us gotta sleep tonight.” engie joked, absentmindedly tinkering with his robotic arm on the log next to medic and heavy.
sniper then emerged from somewhere within the base with two party size bags of marshmallows. the sight earned (almost) eight pairs of eyes falling on him, which made him speed up slightly for fear of drawing on the awkward moment any longer.
“aww yeah,” scout licked his lips, grabbing a bag from snipe before he could even sit down.
“also brought th’ coat hangers,” said the australian lowly, pulling out nine straightened out old metal hangers. he passed them around to each merc, who then proceeded to fight over the marshmallow bags for a good minute or so.
the barbecue had been perfect as usual, but the savory taste left scout’s taste buds longing for something sugary to wash down the greasy aftermath.
he extended two marshmallows over the now crowded fire, sparing a glance at snipe, who was silently trying to convince spy to at least try one.
“right then,” demo said, fluffy white residue apparent in his mouth. “who wants tae hear that story?”
“me!” soldier raised his hand and sat up straighter, not bothering to swallow his marshmallow first.
“a story does sound nice.” medic hummed in agreement, leaning on heavy sleepily.
“prepare yeurselves,” demo began, wiggling his fingers at his teammates. “for this one is known to strike fear in the hearts o’ even th’ bravest warriors.”
“it doesn’t scare me,” eyelander stated bluntly, speaking for the first time that night from where they sat leaned against demo’s log. “ach, that’s cause yeu’re already a ghost, lad.” demo pointed back immediately.
“anyway, i bet none o’ you have heard the tale of the brave knight sir haddengale the third?”
“that sounds made up.” spy muttered, carefully pulling a barely toasted marshmallow off his hanger. everyone glared at him. “oh, i’m sorry. did i say that out loud?” he grimaced slightly, evidently genuinely bashful- if not just a little bit.
“right, it’s the story of a great knight who had become so famed, in fact, that th’ king himself called upon haddengale for a very special mission.
that mission, as th’ king soon revealed, was to be the most dangerous, deadliest, and scariest adventure haddengale would ever face- the bold knight was to rescue th’ king’s daughter from the great evil that had stolen her away and were to seal her in a tomb for a hundred years!”
soldier and pyro gasped audibly, to which engie chuckled inwardly.
“the knight was given a horse, and a map, and was to make his way all the way to th’ other side of the great mountain that protected the kingdom from outside evil forces, and had provided the cities with rich resources for hundreds of years.”
“how did the king’s daughter get kidnapped if the mountain keeps evil out?” soldier asked suspiciously.
demo grinned knowingly. “yeu’ll find that out in the story, love.”
pyro mumbled something in concern, gesturing vaguely with their hands.
“don’t worry, non o’ this is real.” demo winked at the masked figure, who seemed to accept that.
“on his way, the knight battled terrible creatures and horrific monsters at every turn; more than once nearly losing his life to a giant or great serpent. he was exhausted from his journey, but determined to rescue the fair lady at any costs- even if it meant sacrificing his life!”
soldier sniffed, wiping an unseen tear from his face. “what a guy…” he murmured solemnly.
“when th’ knight finally reached the tomb at the base of the mountain, he went to trying to pry it open- but before his very eyes, it began opening itself! a soft, green light danced on the rocky ground before him, beckoning him to come inside.
princess! are ye truly within this tomb? he called, drawing his sword. a voice called back to him, soft and sweet like that o’ an angle.”
pyro exclaimed wildly, waving their hands above their head in urgent warning.
“hold on, lad, yeu’ll see in no time.
the knight followed the voice deeper into the tomb, gradually becoming aware o’ the bones and discarded helmets on the ground. the tunnels became darker, and the remains more prevalent, until he finally called out to the princess: my lady! where are they keeping yeu?
a bright green light then flashed in front of him, glueing him to th’ spot. the figure of a beautiful princess appeared before him, and he knelt to th’ stone at once, humbled my her gracious presence.
you have found me, she said wistfully. now take me away from this place.
at once the knight stood, guiding her to the exit of the tomb. his chest exploded with pride at the great thing he had done, and he imagined how happy the king would be to see his lovely daughter safe an’ sound.
then suddenly, the exit of the tomb closed, bathing them both in that unnatural green light. now that the knight thought about it, it seemed like the light was coming from the princess ‘erself….”
everyone realized they were holding their breath and the same time then, completely enthralled in the story.
“the princess grinned at the knight evilly, causing him to step back. now the mountain will exact it’s revenge on yeur people for pillaging our resources for so long… ye will join the knights before yeu, and be slain by the ghost of the mountain just as they were! boo!”
the team gasped, and medic suddenly awoke, having fallen asleep sometime during the story. “i’m avake,” he said groggily.
scout realized he had been clutching snipe’s arm and quickly released it, fixing his hat awkwardly.
“no!! the knight did not deserve that!” soldier screamed, standing up promptly. demo tried his best to sooth him, patting his coat sleeve. “it’s just a story, love. ‘e didn’t really die.”
“that was well done, demo.” engie said, smiling warmly.
“da. was a good story.” heavy agreed, nodding.
“i’m sure it vhas wunderbar,” medic added, fixing his glasses.
pyro tugged on demo‘s sleeve, to which the scotsman internally prepared to reassure them in turn. “hymf huf umda, humf humma.” they said, nodding. then they hugged him, and demo let out a surprised oof.
“i’m glad th’ story was to yeur liking,” demo said, patting pyro on the back.
then they detached themselves, and gravitated towards engie to help him clean up.
the rest of the team soon followed suit, getting up one by one and grabbing supplies to take inside. heavy and engie took to washing dishes while medic wrapped up the food, and scout waved goodnight to pyro on their way to their room.
snipe hadn’t left his side quite yet, but he knew he had plans to get some shut eye soon, too.
“i wish we did this more often.” the australian said, to scout’s surprise. “it’s nice to relax for once.”
scout scoffed before he could stop himself. “you call that relaxin’? i know everyone was on the edge of their seats,” he pointed out, leaning against the kitchen counter.
“but it was fun, right?” snipe said. scout had to agree with that, so he nodded. “yeah, it was. demo’s real good with stories like that.”
snipe smiled at the kid, and adjusted his hat. “you have a good night.” he took off to his van, and scout said goodnight back. even after eating so many marshmallows, he had gotten sleepy too, and decided it would be best to konk out for the night.
they should do this more often, scout thought, noting the comfortable warmth in his chest.

It was the first time the BAU didn't argue Strauss's decision. She had walked into the conference room and explained to the team that the FBI had decided each department had to do a workshop related to teamwork and trust.
- "You will spend this weekend camping together. You will be part of a Team-Building Training Workshop"- Strauss wasn't excited about the idea of her best team wasting a whole weekend. But she was glad her department didn't have to do the activity. She hated camping.
- "Are you telling me we have to spend our weekend in sleeping bags, singing kumbaya?"- Rossi raised an eyebrow and looked at Erin, and she didn't move a muscle- "I'm out."
- "David, I'm not asking you if you want to do it. The whole team has to be part of this activity, that includes you."
- "Come on, Rossi,"- Prentiss smiled and tried to cheer him up- "It will be a nice change from catching serial killers for a weekend.
- "Really, Emily?"- Rossi crossed his arms on his chest and looked at Reid- "Hey, kid. How many dead bodies are found each year in the woods in the country?"
- "Over 2.543 last year,"- Spencer answered. And didn't stop talking, of course- "We can not be sure they were all serial killer related cases. The most common ways to die in the woods are drowning, car accident, and suicide."
- "Suicide it is."- David whispered. He knew it was going to be a long weekend.
Even when he wasn't a person who loved camping and outdoor activities, Spencer was excited to spend the weekend with the team, especially with (Y/N). His teammate, best friend, and secret crush. Ok, it wasn't really a secret.
Of course, everybody knew about Spencer's feelings. He never successfully hid them from the team. You didn't need to be a profiler to notice each time (Y/N) walked into a room, Reid's eyes would follow her, and his cheeks blushed. When they sat together in the jet, Spencer would always be too self-aware of his own movements. He would try not to move, especially when she had fallen asleep, resting her head on his shoulder. And when they were working on a case together, he would always cover her on the field, and he would make sure she was safe, even when the unsub was already caught.
He loved her. Even a blind man could see. Except for (Y/N), of course. Because according to her own words: "There's no way Spencer Reid is in love with me. He would never look at me that way. He is perfect, and I'm a mess. He deserves the perfect genius girl."
-
- "Ok, Romeo, this weekend is the perfect opportunity for you to make your move"- Derek and Reid were alone in the SUV on their way to the retreat.
- "Sure. Because there's no better time to make a fool out of myself than in front of all my friends in the middle of nowhere."
- "What's with the attitude, pretty Ricky? Relax"- Morgan frowned and put on some music, singing along for a moment. Reid looked at him and raised an eyebrow, trying not to laugh.
- "Ok man, picture this: you, your pretty lady, in the middle of the night, gazing at the stars together, alone in the middle of the forest. The full moon is the only light."
- "Who are you? since when are you a romance expert?"
- "Hey! I can be romantic!"
- "I've seen you get girls only by raising an eyebrow"- Reid argued, and he was right. It had happened once, but that was another completely different story.
- "What I'm trying to tell you is that you have the perfect chance to tell her how you feel during this trip"- Spencer was about to start debating that idea when Derek continued.
- "And stop saying she has no feeling for you!"
Reid bit his tongue and looked at the road. Neither of them said a word for the next couple of minutes. Until Spencer whispered
- "But she doesn't"
- "She does!!"- Derek nearly yelled
- "Why are you so sure?!"
- "Because she told Penelope she is in love with you!!"
The silence in the car was as intense as the red in Spencer's cheeks. Derek knew he shouldn't have said that, but he was tired of seeing his best friend's sad eyes each time he stared at (Y/N). Someone had to do something, and he knew neither of them would make the first move.
- "Are you sure?"- Reid's mouth was hanging open- "I mean, maybe she was joking."
- "No, she was honest. So please, this weekend, make your freaking move."
-
How could Spencer ever make his move? He had no idea. He didn't even have a "move"! But something inside of him felt a little more confident now.
That didn't show on the outside at all, 'cos during the whole day, he was more clumsy than ever. He dropped his coffee. He failed the first two attempts to set up his tent and nearly fell carrying logs for the fire.
He wanted to dig a hole and hid.
But (Y/N) didn't notice any of that. Not because she didn't pay attention, but because she was oblivious to any of those things. She just couldn't stop staring: He was wearing jeans. Spencer Walter Reid was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. (Y/N) thought she was going to have a heart attack when he got out of the car.
Sure, yes, she had seen him outside work in a more casual outfit, but nothing prepared her for Spencer's camping clothing. It suited him too well for his own good.
- "Hello? Anybody there?"- Prentiss waved at (Y/N). She and JJ stood in front of her, trying to catch her attention.
- "Jesus! you look like a schoolgirl today!"- JJ teased her, laughing- "Can you be more obvious?"
- "What are you talking about?"- (Y/N) tried to look all innocent and continued setting the logs for the campfire.
- "If Spencer wasn't so clueless about your feelings, I swear you two would be already married,"- Emily joked and helped (Y/N) with the logs. The young SSA just shook her head and tried to keep her eyes from Reid for as long as she could. She successfully did it for five minutes. That day's record.
- "(Y/N), hey"- he stood by her side, and she quickly stood up.
- "Hey, how are you doing?"
- "Good... you?"- she just nodded and smiled. She really was acting like a schoolgirl in front of Spencer- "Great... hey, I thought maybe tonight you would like to do some stargazing with me..."- Emily and JJ heard him and nearly squealed. They tried to look away, but it was impossible. They needed to know what was happening. Where was García? she was going to be so mad she missed that.
- "Yeah! I'm sure tonight we can see way more stars than on your building's roof like last time."
(Y/N) answered, smiling, thinking there was nothing more romantic than being underneath a starry sky, listening to Spencer talking about constellations.
- "Ok, kids,"- Rossi's voice stepping out of his huge camper interrupted them and forced everybody to turn around- "Let's do this trust thing we are forced to do before it's lunchtime. Maybe we can manage to go home early."
-
Of course, they weren't. The whole team had to work as a unit to fulfill a series of activities an expert team the FBI had hired forced them to do. Aaron thought it was unnecessary, considering they worked on the field together, and they trusted each other with their lives all the time. But he was also sure his team needed a break, and everybody could use some fresh air.
- "Great work, team"- Hotch hugged everybody and smiled when the whole activity was done- "I think we've earned a nice dinner."
- "Please don't tell me we have to hunt our food"- Penelope wide opened her eyes suddenly and looked at Hotch- "I can eat blueberries."
- "Don't worry, kids"- Rossi shook his head and pointed to his camper- "Anyone in the mood for a nice steak?"
- "I bought marshmallows for the campfire later,"- (Y/N) said and smiled- "You are never too old for some s'more."
- "Scary stories by the fire eating s'mores? I'm ten years old again"- JJ looked excited- "I need to do this with Henry."
- "Just don't tell him your "I'm scared of the woods because I found the camp director dead" story." - Derek said, smiling.
- "You freaked out!"- JJ chuckled, remembering how she had scared her friends a few years earlier while working on a case in the woods.
- "I need to hear that story!"- Emily said- "I bet it's no better than mine, I'm sure."
- "Battle of horror stories?"- (Y/N) smiled evilly- "You two have nothing on me."
-
The evening was fun and a little terrifying. Garcia was holding Derek's arm so tight it was starting to feel numb. Rossi and Hotch had told a couple of stories that left the team completely frightened, to be fair. Especially Spencer. He had forgotten an essential part of his plan: nights in the woods are dark as pitch. And he was afraid of the dark. How would he successfully take (Y/N) to a nice spot, sit down and stare at the stars with her if he was too scared to move from the fire?
(Y/N) looked at Reid and sighed. Maybe he had regretted it. Of course, he hasn't forgotten his invitation, 'cos Spencer remembered everything. Still, he hadn't made any move or sign to go stargazing. Being alone with him in the dark was scary but in the right way. Maybe she could finally tell him how she felt. No, no way. That wasn't going to happen.
- "Ok, so... it's late, and we are out of wine"- Rossi stood up and looked at the team- "I am ready to go to my comfy bed"- the rest of the team groaned. They were going to spend the night in a tent, probably freezing, while Rossi was going to be in his warm camper.
- "I'm going to sleep too, we have trekking in the morning, and it's going to be a long walk. I suggest you all go to bed early."- Hotch stood up and waved at the team, to then walk to his tent."
- "Sweet chocolate thunder, is there room in your tent for me?"- Penelope asked, and he chuckled immediately
- "Are you still scared of the stories? they are just made up things people create to terrify us."
- "I know. But I'm also scared of bears, psycho killers, and slender man"- Morgan looked at her, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't joking.
- "Bring your sleeping bag."
- "You are my hero. I love you."
Prentiss and JJ went to bed soon after, leaving the two love birds alone.
- "Stargazing?"- Reid whispered, and (Y/N) nodded- "We should find a darker stop... or we can stay here by the fire if you like."
- "Are we going to get a nice view here?"- (Y/N) looked at the stars and tried to see anything.
- "No, it has to be darker,"- Spencer whispered, taking a look around- "There was a nice spot by the cliff, that way."
- "I don't think walking to a cliff in the middle of the night is a good idea"- (Y/N) smiled, and Reid shook his head
- "You are right..."
- "But we can walk carefully and carry a flashlight,"- she added and smiled, looking at him. His brown curls moved with the wind, and his chocolate eyes were brighter than the sparks of fire next to them.
- "That sounds good."
Spencer stood still for a second. He had a blanket in one hand and a bag of marshmallows in the other. (Y/N) put on her scarf and jacket and stared at him.
- "Are you ok?"
- "Yeah."
He wasn't. He was trying to calm himself down, thinking that walking in the middle of the dark was worthy because it meant spending time alone with (Y/N).
He kept telling himself he didn't have to worry because nothing was going to happen. He wished he had his gun with him in case of any danger, though. Maybe that could make him feel better.
- "You can't kill darkness, stupid"- he whispered to himself and sighed. (Y/N) walked a step closer and took the marshmallow bag. Then, she held his hand.
- "Let's go?"
That was all Spencer needed. He was ready.
- "Did you know astronomy is the oldest of the sciences?- Reid whispered as they walked hand in hand to a nice clear spot - "Ancient astronomers were able to differentiate between stars and planets, as stars remain relatively fixed over the centuries while planets will move an appreciable amount during a comparatively short time."
- "And when did you start learning about the stars?"- Spencer loved that. How each time he started rambling, she wouldn't get annoyed like the rest of the people he knew. Instead, she would always ask him something related to the subject. And it was usually something personal. She wanted to learn more about him and how he had ended up being such an amazing human being.
- "When I was four, mom started taking me regularly to the library. That was when I started to learn more about science. I could pick ten books each time we were there, and I decided I wanted to know everything I could about everything I loved."
Spencer confessed and smiled, looking at her. His heart was warm with their conversations. He was never comfortable talking about his personal life, especially about his childhood. But with (Y/N), it all came naturally.
- "How often did she take you?"
- "Every other day"- she chuckled and remembered the pictures Diana had shown her of Spencer when he was a little kid last time they visited her. He was adorable, with his glasses and his messy hair. It was impossible not to imagine having a family with him.
- "This is it... this is a good spot."- Spencer said and stopped walking. He moved a log and tapped on it, smiling at (Y/N). She sat with him, and he wrapped them together with the blanket.
- "So, what am I staring at?"- (Y/N) asked and kept her eyes on the starry sky. It seemed she had never seen so many stars. And they even looked closer. Spencer looked at her, and his heart skipped a beat. He was about to start a lecture on astronomy, but instead, he decided to do "his move." Or the move he could think of. He didn't really know if it was a move, but he was going to give it a shot anyway.
- "Most stargazers learn about constellations looking for different noticeable patterns across the sky"- he made a pause clearing his throat. That was it. He was going to do it.
- "That's how it all started,"- he continued- "Some of these noticeable patterns up there are still the same ones our ancestors noticed while sitting around a campfire telling stories like we did today."
- "Telling stories about the stars sounds a lot less creepy, though" - (Y/N) whispered, and the two of them smiled- "Wanna tell me a story about these stars?"
There was no way Spencer could say not to her puppy eyes.
- "Ok... let's see..."- Reid sighed and thought for a moment, looking at the constellations above them- "Do you see those stars over there that look like a cute bunny?"
- "Which ones?"- Spencer pointed at the sky, and (Y/N) nodded- "I see them"
- "Well, you'll see, there was a comet in love with the bunny, but it could only look at her from a safe distance."- Spencer finally confessed. (Y/N) held her breath for a second and tried not to get her hopes high.
- "Why?"
- "Well, the comet was afraid he wasn't good enough for the bunny"- Spencer was whispering, and his soft voice sent shivers to (Y/N)'s body- "So he stared at his favorite constellation every day and only imagined what it would feel like to hold her in his arms."
- "And the bunny never saw the comet?"- (Y/N) asked softly, while very, very slowly, she moved her hand and reached Spencer's.
- "The bunny thought the comet just wanted to be her friend because he was scared to tell her how he felt,"
(Y/N) kept thinking there was no way on earth Spencer was telling her how he felt about her with that adorable story. Was he? Really? 'cos it was too romantic, and if he wasn't and she was wrong... it would be heartbreaking. But, there was only one way to find out.
- "I think the bunny felt the same, but she thought she wasn't good enough for the comet"- Spencer's heart raced at those words, and he turned to look at (Y/N). She blushed and stared at him with a shy smile.
- "Why would the bunny ever think that?"
- "The comet is too brilliant and too amazing to settle for a simple constellation when he could have the sun."
(Y/N) was embarrassed to confess those feelings, but it was now or never.
- "But the bunny is the sun in the comet's life."- Spencer whispered and caressed her cheek with his thumb carefully.
- "Really?"- her voice was so soft, it melted Spencer completely. He couldn't answer. All he could do was to lean in slowly and kissed her as gently as he could, enjoying the sensation of her lips against his. He cupped her face with both hands and moved a little closer.
It was the sweetest kiss he had ever given. It wasn't just because (Y/N)'s lips tasted like marshmallow, but because it was filled with pure love. He could feel it, even when he still couldn't believe it. She loved him. She really did.
(Y/N) was sure that wasn't really happening. She had probably fallen down the cliff earlier and was now unconscious or dead, living a fantasy. There was no way Spencer Reid was kissing her.
When they slowly moved and looked at each other, neither of them knew what to say. So (Y/N) did what she always dreamed of doing and leaned in and kissed him again. Spencer didn't hesitate and wrapped his arms around her waist, moving her closer to him. Her hands played shyly with some of the curls of his hair, and they simply kissed for what seemed to be forever, even when it wasn't enough time for them. Spencer felt he could kiss her his whole life, and he still wouldn't get enough of her.
- "So..."- (Y/N) whispered after some minutes and looked at Spencer, blushing- "Do you think the comet and the bunny could... maybe try to be more than friends?"
He smiled and kissed her again, rubbing her lips carefully with his; (Y/N) sighed into the kiss.
- "The comet is willing to do anything the bunny asks him because he just wants to make her happy all day, every day."
(Y/N) couldn't speak. She could only kiss him again and again.
- "Bunny just wants her comet to be happy too."
- "Then would Bunny be the comet's girlfriend?"- she giggled and nodded- "Good, because I don't think I could ever live without your kisses ever again, Bunny."
- "Neither do I, Comet"
And after that, stargazing was forgotten. There were enough stars in their kisses to keep the two of them lost in their own new universe.

Hello! May I request some headcanons for a mutual pining situation with Fili and a sweet and shy reader, ending in some good ole fluff? Thank you!
Mutual Pining, Fili Durin
Headcanons, genderneutral pronouns
Tw: none???? Mutual pining??? Bit of oblivious Fili??? Sprinkle of angst, shitload of fluff????? Kili being Kili??????
- Now, Fili can be straight forward or more to himself. No in between. Upon meeting you, he had tried to get to know you a bit better, but you had not been as conversational as he was.
- Therefor, he automatically assumed you weren’t interested. Even as he tried sitting next to you at night, you remained quiet, only ever dropping a silent “hello”, but besides that, he couldn’t expect more.
- In truth, you had always been relatively shy, but Fili somehow brought out the worst in you. You could manage to strike up a conversation with Bilbo,,,,hell, even Kili managed to get a laugh out of you, but around Fili, you had no idea what to say or how to act.
- But Fili is not a quitter. Every night, he stayed beside you. And while you usually didn’t have a lot to say, he tried to bring something out of you. Perhaps just mentioning your family or a color you love.
- And Lo and Behold; as the days turned into weeks, you warmed up to Fili. He was patient and kind, something not a lot of people are.
- You liked Fili, and you truly did try to show it, but it seemed as if Fili never caught onto your meanings. When you would ask him about Erebor, he would just tell you about Thorin. When you asked him about his favorite place, he would mention Kili’s favorite place instead of his own.
- You even tried to subtly ask him about dwarven courting customs and he told you the entire story of how his parents eventually got married.
- No matter how much you tried to ask him smoothly placed questions, he never quite answered them. And you were to shy to straight up ask him out or try to become more intimate with him.
- Fili, the sneaky bastard, did understand your questions, but was afraid you’d let him on something that wasn’t there. He was afraid your actions might be a tad bit too good to be true.
- Yet, he offered to clean your weapons. He would bring you something to eat. He would check up on you constantly, even though he rarely left your side. Poor Bofur hadn’t even known you weren’t courting.
- And Kili? He just watched it all happen. He was smarter than he appeared. He knew what was going on. But he’d let the two of you figure it out on your own.
- He did offer a helping hand at times.
- And with that, I mean; “Fili likes your hair down.” or “You know, Fili doesn’t have anyone waiting for him at home ;))))”
- The worst part: Fili has no idea his brother does this.
- So when Kili casually mentions that Fili was going to ask you to court him that night, you grew ecstatic. Kili hadn’t been wrong before, so why would he lie now?
- Because Thorin forced him to stop interfering and the only way Kili would do that was to let the two of you court
- So that night you had sat by the campfire as you usually did. You had been patiently waiting for Fili to show up and when he did, your smile grew so much brighter.
- “Missed me that much?” He joked, sitting down beside you. You just laughed at his answer, staring at the dancing flames.
- “Can I ask you something?” Fili suddenly began, making your head shoot up immediately.
- “Of course.” You answered. After Kili told you what Fili had been planning, you had been off in your head the entire day, thinking of ways to accept Fili’s proposal. Yet, as his eyes looked into yours, all previously made sentences had disappeared.
- “Do you think you could take over my shift for tonight? I have not slept in three days and Oin suggested I might take an evening off.” Upon those words, your smile faded, now silently glaring at Kili, who had watched it all happen, his mouth still full with the stew Bombur had prepared.
- “Okay.” You answered silently, though you quickly formed a fake smile to assure him nothing was wrong. The silence that followed afterwards had been dreadful. To Fili, you wouldn’t usually respond like that. Not with only one word. But you couldn’t even muster up the courage to say sorry, or at least something to follow that ‘okay’.
- Fili did not know what to do. He didn’t even know what he did wrong. He found he could better leave you on your own, yet he could not bring himself to walk away.
- “Excuse me. May I have a word with my brother, please?” Kili asked, having popped up behind Fili. Before leaving, Fili took one last look at you, his face showing you he knew something was up, yet he didn’t mention it.
- As Fili and Kili talked among hushed voices in the distance, you stared back into the flames. So Kili had been lying. You should have known, really. In a way, the thought of courting Fili had been too good to be true. He was a crown prince, for Durin’s sake.
- But before you even knew it, Fili was back again, his head still towards Kili, now looking more annoyed then he had appeared earlier.
- “I heard Kili had been teasing you.” He mustered out, his eyes meeting yours again.
- “It’s nothing. We were just joking around.” You tried to defend, looking down at your hands as to not come over as desperate. This had already gotten a bit out of control and you didn’t want to grant yourself false hope.
- “I didn’t plan to ask you to court me tonight.” Fili confessed, sitting down beside you. Upon those words, you shuffled a bit away from him, a heavy feeling settling in your stomach.
- “For I thought you would have no interest.” The blonde clarified. Your head moved upwards slowly, yet your eyes lingered anywhere but on his face.
- “Would I be foolish to grant myself the hope of settling down with you one day?” He had put one of his hands under your chin, holding it gently to make you look at him. As you studied his face, his eyes held nothing but sincerity, a flikker of hope lost within them. His lips had set into a smile, but wistful way as his hair managed to contour his head perfectly.
- “Less foolish than you might think.” You whispered, your eyes now falling back down to your lap, not comfortable with the amount of time you had held his gaze. Yet, the moment his hand nudged your look back up again, his smile had been brighter, his eyes a bit softer.
- “Would that day be the day we reach Erebor?” He wondered, gently letting his thumb trace the bottom of your face.
- “Only if it is what your heart desires.” With those words, Fili dragged you closer to him, his arms now around your torso as he let you lean into his embrace. His scent had been comforting as his body managed to warm you up a bit from the cold weather. The soft beating of his heart was gently heard, yet all that you could focus on was his head resting on top of yours, a muffled whisper coming from it.
- “It is.”
