All of the Good Things
Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
A Family of Her Own Series
Masterlist | General Masterlist
w/c: 4.3k
Summary: After the fall of the Avengers, Natasha Romanoff returns home to her secret family—a life she's carefully hidden away for years. Struggling to balance her role as a mother and wife while avoiding the dangers of her past, Natasha is forced to make difficult decisions that impact her loved ones.
This Chapter: Natasha and R are on the run together.
The gentle sound of water lapping against the sides of the pool harmonized with the chirping of birds on the cool summer day. Summer in Versailles hadn't been on either of your bucket lists, but you can't imagine being anywhere else. Natasha stands in the shallow end of the pool, Stella in her arms, as they wade in the water. The pool was shaded perfectly by towering trees, their leaves creating a dappled pattern of sunlight on the surface of the water, glimmering like diamonds.
The air was filled with the scent of blooming lavender from the nearby garden, adding a sweet aroma that mingled with the fresh, crisp scent of the water. Natasha’s laughter mingled with the gentle breeze as she gently rocked Stella, teaching her how to float.
"You have to hold your head above the water," Natasha informed the two-year-old as she attempted to let her go. Stella shook her head, ignoring Natasha's words, as she wanted to pretend to be a shark. "Stella," Natasha asked again as she placed the toddler on the poolside.
"Shh, I'm listening to the waves," Stella held up a tiny hand. Natasha shook her head in amusement and stood in front of her in case she decided to jump in like earlier.
"Are there waves in a pool?" Natasha questioned. Stella's face scrunched up as she listened intently to the gentle splashes against the pool wall, deciding how to answer.
"Yes," Stella replied after a few moments. "And they're making music," she added.
“Oh, they are? What kind of music are they playing?" Natasha played along.
"Water music," Stella stated matter-of-factly.
"You love swimming this much?" Natasha questioned. It appeared almost rhetorical.
"She was born in a pool. What did you expect?" You said as you came out of the house with Nicky in your arms. He looked adorable in his cute red swim shorts and sun hat. Unlike his sister, he wasn't appreciative of the infinity pool that came with the rental, his little brow furrowed as he gazed at the water with skepticism.
Natasha found herself too distracted to add to the conversation, her gaze wandering appreciatively over you in your bikini. The way the sunlight danced on your skin made her heart race just a little faster, and she couldn’t help but smile at the thought of how you balanced playfulness and warmth as effortlessly as you balanced Nicky in your arms.
“You look like a total snack, by the way,” Natasha teased, her voice laced with affection as she tried to divert her attention back to Stella, who was now pretending to swim like a dolphin.
“Thank you, but I think Nicky’s the star of the show today,” You replied, shooting a playful smile back at Natasha as you approached the edge of the pool.
Natasha’s attention snapped back to Stella, and she chuckled at Stella’s enthusiastic splashes, soaking the nearby tiles. “Okay, Miss Shark, let’s get you back in the water,” Natasha said, returning her focus to the lessons. “But this time, we’ll try floating, deal?”
Stella nodded eagerly, her excitement palpable as she prepared to dive back into the pool. She loved playing in the water, and Natasha could see how much fun she was having, though it was quite a different story with Nicky.
Nicky stared at the pool, his little eyes narrowed suspiciously, and the expression on his face was absolutely priceless.
You held onto the railing of the pool with one hand and Nicky with the other as you descended the steps. Initially it was cold and the infant whimpered in surprise. Once he became accustomed to the temperature, however, he seemed content to splash the water and observe the ripples.
Natasha moved closer as she observed the two of you, and a sudden realization came over her. This was her family. There was a sense of belonging, something she had been searching for her entire life, and it all started with you.
When Natasha first met you, she never imagined this could be her life, a life of love and acceptance, a life where she was truly at peace. Natasha watched you in the pool with Nicky, the way you gently held him, guiding him through the water with patience and care. The sight tugged at her heartstrings, stirring something deep inside her she hadn’t known she needed for so long. She had fought in battles and faced impossible odds, but here, in this quiet corner of Versailles, surrounded by her little family, was where she felt her strongest.
Her thoughts drifted back to the day she first met you. Never in her wildest dreams could she have predicted this—a home, a family, a love so profound it healed old wounds she thought would never close. She had been a soldier, an Avenger, but with you, she was just Natasha. The walls she built so high had crumbled over time, brick by brick, until you had her heart completely. She doesn't know how she could ever show you how much she loves you. Stella’s joyful shriek snapped Natasha out of her reverie as the toddler splashed water at her, giggling uncontrollably. Natasha blinked, grinning at her daughter's antics. "Alright, alright. You win this round."
Stella giggled again and attempted to float, proudly puffing out her chest as she lay back, mimicking what Natasha had shown her earlier. Her little limbs flailed more than necessary, but she was trying, and that effort was all Natasha needed to see.
You made your way closer to them, Nicky now calmer in your arms, his tiny hands occasionally splashing as if testing the waters. The way he leaned into you for comfort made Natasha’s heart swell even more. She wrapped an arm around your waist as you joined her near the shallow end, her fingers trailing up and down your side.
"Did I tell you that you look sexy in a bikini already?" She asked.
"Mmhm, but I don't mind hearing it again," You smiled. "You don't look so bad yourself, Romanoff," You grinned, running a finger along the edge of her black bikini. You gave her a gentle kiss one that caused Stella to wrinkle her nose as she clung to Natasha.
"Yuck!" She cried, prompting the two of you to laugh.
"Sorry, kid. You're stuck with us," Natasha said, leaning forward and blowing a raspberry on her cheek, eliciting a squeal of delight from the toddler. The past few months had been nothing short of a dream. Every morning in Versailles had felt like a small slice of peace, a stolen moment between the chaos that followed like a shadow. The quiet days had given Natasha and you something you both craved—time. Time to simply be. No missions, no war rooms, no urgent calls for help. Just the two of you, your children, and a sense of stillness that neither of you had ever really known.
Natasha couldn't remember the last time she'd been able to breathe this easily, to savor these fleeting moments. The way your laughter would carry through the house, or how Stella’s giggles echoed in the garden, and Nicky’s soft coos in your arms as you both watched the world go by. Natasha found herself rediscovering you all over again—the little things that had drawn her in from the start but felt even more profound now. The way you could make her smile with just a look. How effortlessly you seemed to hold everything together, even when life on the run could easily fray at the edges.
Every stolen kiss, every shared glance, every touch had rekindled something inside her. Falling in love with you had been the easiest thing Natasha had ever done, but staying in love—especially through all the chaos, the goodbyes, the constant fear of what might come next—was a different story. She could admit now that every time she'd left, there had been a twinge of resentment from you, and she couldn't blame you for it. You'd never said it outright, but she saw it in your eyes, heard it in your voice when she promised, once again, that this time it wouldn’t be for long. She knew what it cost you to be with her, to follow her across continents, to live a life where permanence felt like a distant dream.
But these past three months? They had been different. Natasha had stayed. And with every day, that lingering tension—the one that came from being pulled apart and back together so many times—had started to dissolve. Slowly but surely, you were both healing. You were rebuilding something that the chaos of her life had threatened to break.
Natasha had learned to savor the little things again. The mornings where the two of you would sneak out to the pool before the kids woke up, enjoying a cup of coffee while the world was still quiet. The evenings spent in each other's arms, no words necessary, just the comfort of being near you. The way you would look at her like you saw past the mask of the Black Widow and saw Natasha—the woman, the wife, the mother.
And Natasha, in turn, found herself falling in love with you all over again. It wasn’t a rush or a whirlwind this time, but something deeper, more settled. Like the roots of something strong and enduring, quietly taking hold. You had always been her safe harbor, but now, in these quiet days, you had become her home in a way she hadn't fully realized before.
Of course, she knew the peace wouldn’t last forever. You would have to move again soon. Another city, another name, another chance to stay off the radar. The danger was always lurking, an ever-present threat that lived at the edges of these moments. But Natasha had learned to live with it, to compartmentalize it. Right now, as she stood in the pool with you and the kids, none of that mattered. The world outside could wait. For now, this was enough.
**************
You stepped out of the pool, water dripping from your skin as you made your way to grab more towels. The warm sun kissed your damp shoulders, but a slight chill ran down your spine as you stepped into the house. You heard a faint buzzing coming from the counter, the place where you'd kept your access to the outside world. It’s an old phone, a number only a select few even have—mostly remnants of a lifelong buried.
The screen flashed with an unknown number, but you knew better. Instinct told you who it is before you even answered.
Your stomach tightened as you picked it up, glancing out of the window at Natasha still in the pool with the kids, her attention on Stella as she splashed excitedly. You raised the phone to your ear, keeping your voice low.
“Hello?”
“Been a hard person to reach,” The voice on the other end said, his tone smug and all too familiar. General Ross. His voice alone was enough to make your pulse spike. It drags you back to a time when every phone call from SHIELD was an emergency, a matter of life or death.
You take a slow breath, forcing yourself to stay calm. “I didn’t know I was taking calls,” You replied coolly, your eyes scanned the surroundings automatically, your mind already shifting into alert mode.
“Guess you’re not retired after all,” Ross continued, his voice sharp, cutting. “I’ve been looking for you and Romanoff. It’s been quite the chase.”
Your grip tightened on the phone, your knuckles turning white. "I don't understand why you think I'd know where she is. Your guess is as good as mine."
"Come on, Agent. We both know that's not true," Ross replied, his voice full of malice. "She's wanted for the crime of treason. What better person for her to be with than the woman she loves? Wife, right? I know people too."
Your blood runs cold at his words, and you're thankful you're alone. "What do you want, Ross?"
"I'll give you a week," he replies. "Tell your wife to come back with the Rogues or we'll be paying you a visit."
"Is this how you usually get your way? Intimidation?" You asked.
"No, just the most effective," Ross replied.
"Well, you're wasting your time," You leaned against the counter. "What is it with your obsession with Natasha anyway? I'm curious. Did she reject you? Hurt your cat? Cut you off in traffic?"
Ross chuckled darkly, the sound low and menacing. "This isn’t about personal feelings, Agent. Romanoff is a traitor, and traitors need to face justice. It’s as simple as that."
You grit your teeth, gripping the edge of the counter as you fought to keep your voice steady. "You and I both know it's more than that. You’ve been chasing her for some time now. You’re obsessed."
"Obsession," he drawled, "is such an ugly word. Let’s call it dedication. I have a job to do, and I won’t stop until I see it through."
The weight of his words settled heavily on you, an oppressive reminder of the constant threat that loomed over you and Natasha, no matter where you tried to run or how well you hid. The illusion of safety, the peace you’d found together over the last few months, felt like it was slipping away.
"You’ve been out of the game for a while," Ross continued, his tone almost mocking. "Maybe you’ve forgotten how this works. You can’t protect her forever. Eventually, she’ll slip, and when she does, I’ll be right there. But if you’re smart, you’ll bring her in before things get messy—for all of you."
You swallowed hard, trying to ignore the fear that clawed at the edges of your mind, threatening to overwhelm you. "Is that a threat, General?"
"Oh no," he replied. "Just a promise."
The line went dead, leaving you alone with the silence and the sound of your own heartbeat echoing in your ears. You leaned heavily against the counter, fighting the urge to throw the phone across the room. The familiar pitter-patter of footsteps caused you to change your tune immediately. You wiped at your face and rushed over to the sink, grabbing a glass and beginning to fill it with water.
"Hey," Natasha said as she entered the kitchen with Nicky and Stella. She paused, tilting her head, noticing the shift in your demeanor. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," You replied, avoiding her gaze as you sipped from the glass of water. "Are we all done in the pool?"
"Yeah, we're done for today," Natasha answered, her eyes narrowing. "Something happened."
You sighed and placed the glass on the counter, unable to lie to her. "Later. Please?"
Natasha didn't argue, but you could feel her gaze boring into the back of your head, her concern palpable.
The rest of the afternoon passed without incident, but you were hyper-aware of every sound, every shadow, the tension in your shoulders refusing to abate. You couldn't relax, not when the threat of Ross and his army was hanging over you like a sword.
The evening sun was painting the sky in shades of pink and red when the four of you sat down to dinner, the kids happily munching away on their chicken nuggets while you babysat the same cup of wine. Natasha didn't press for information. She simply enjoyed her time with the kids. Its when she put them down for bed that she begun to ask questions. You stood at the bathroom counter, preparing for your nightly routine, when she stood beside you. She watched your reflection in the mirror.
"So, are you gonna tell me what's going on or do I have to guess?" She asked, her voice gentle, but the concern was evident.
"It was Ross," You admitted, not meeting her eyes. "He called me earlier. Somehow he got ahold of my old work phone. I know it's dumb of me to still have it but..."
Her body tensed at the name, her expression hardening. "What did he want?"
"To let us know that he knows we're together," You replied, finally meeting her gaze. "That he's coming after you, and me. That we have a week to either turn ourselves in or face the consequences."
"How the hell did he find you?" Natasha asked, her voice laced with anger.
"I'm not sure, but he seems serious," You argue. "Maybe you should call and check on Steve and Wanda. See where they are?"
"Wanda can handle herself, and she's with Vision. I'm not worried about her," Natasha assured, running a hand through her hair. "Ross is just bluffing."
"If you're sure," You nodded. "I'm not afraid of him. Not in the slightest. I just think maybe we should relocate."
"But you love it here," Natasha said.
"Not more than I love you," You countered. "And we can't stay, we've been here too long."
Natasha's shoulders sagged slightly, but she nodded in agreement.
"I'm sorry this is happening," She frowned.
"Don't keep apologizing," You shake your head. "It's not your fault. We'll be okay."
"Yeah, but I'm the reason you're on the run with me. This isn't the life I wanted for you."
"We have a family, Nat. We have two beautiful kids. If we have to run, I'll follow. Besides, it's not forever." You tapped at her hands, grasping them in your own. "The kids are fine. I'm fine."
"Maybe one day, I can get you to a beach. A real one," Natasha smirked.
"Sounds nice," You smiled. "But wherever we go, I'll be there. You know that, right?"
"I know."
Natasha kissed you softly, her hands cupping your face. You melt into the kiss, wrapping your arms around her waist and pulling her close. The tension in your shoulders eases the fear and worry that had gripped you since Ross's call beginning to dissipate.
"Someone's birthday is coming," Natasha said.
"Stella will be three," You smiled against her shoulder. "Nicky's birthday was beautiful. I don't know what we're going to do for her."
"I've got a few ideas," She grinned. "She wants to visit an aquarium."
"Is that wise? All things considered?"
"We're careful," Natasha smiled, kissing you once more.
"You are. Me, I'm an anxious mess," You joked, the anxiety slowly returning.
"You're the most level-headed person I know," She chuckled, her hands rubbing at your back.
"That's sweet of you to say, but it's not true," You argued. "Our baby is going to be three. Where has the time gone?"
"It's flown," Natasha smiled, "but I'm glad we're here. I can't imagine doing this with anyone else."
"Same," You hummed, holding her tighter. "You know, we're pretty good at this. Being parents. Well, from an outsider's perspective, we might look insane, dangerous, crazy. The list goes on."
"You're definitely insane, but so am I. It works," Natasha laughed. "It's always worked with you."
"Yeah, it has," You agreed. Your fingers toy with the hair at the nape of her neck.
"You never told me if you liked my hair or not," Natasha said. You grip her head gently, pulling back at her, inspecting the box-dye blonde.
"You look like a baddie, babe," You grinned.
"A baddie?"
"A badass," You corrected. "You told me I looked like a snack earlier. It's only right if I return the favor."
"You know," Natasha smirked, "if we had sex now, we'd be doing it like a married couple."
"Well," You shrugged. "We are a married couple."
Natasha smiled and leaned forward, capturing your lips in a passionate kiss. The anxiety and fear of Ross and his threats fade into the background, replaced by the familiar feeling of desire, warmth, and love.
***************
A week later you were at the aquarium. The faint scent of saltwater and the rhythmic hum of the filtration tanks created a calming atmosphere, one that made it easy to forget—at least for a moment—the looming threat that had shadowed you for the past week.
Stella’s eyes were wide with wonder as she held Natasha’s hand, her tiny legs struggling to keep pace with the excitement rushing through her. She had been talking about sharks non-stop since you’d left the house, her fascination sparked again by some ocean documentary she had watched with Natasha weeks ago.
“Do you think we’ll see a real shark today, Mama?” Stella asked, her voice filled with awe as she looked up at Natasha, her little hand gripping tightly onto hers.
Natasha, disguised with a black wig that fell just past her shoulders and brown contact lenses that made her nearly unrecognizable, smiled down at her daughter. “I think we will, Solnyshko. You might even see a whole family of sharks.”
Stella’s eyes lit up at the possibility, and she beamed. “I wanna see the baby ones!”
Behind them, you pushed Nicky’s stroller, watching the two of them interact. It was moments like this that made everything feel normal. It was easy to pretend that your little family was just like any other. The tension from a week ago seemed far away, and today was about Stella—her third birthday, a day of joy and exploration.
“She’s been talking about sharks all morning,” You said with a smile, catching up to Natasha and Stella as you steered the stroller next to them.
Natasha glanced back at you, her eyes crinkling with affection, even though she kept her gaze on Stella to avoid drawing too much attention to herself. “I’m pretty sure she’s going to try to take one home with her,” she teased.
Stella, overhearing, immediately latched onto the idea. “Can we, Mama? Can we take a baby shark home?”
You and Natasha both laughed, and you shook your head playfully. “I don’t think the sharks would be very happy living in our pool, sweetie.”
Stella pouted for a second but then seemed to forget all about it as soon as you reached the first large tank, her eyes widening with amazement at the sight of colorful fish swimming just inches away on the other side of the glass. She pressed her hands to the cool surface, her breath fogging up the glass as she stared in awe.
Nicky, sitting in the stroller, squirmed and giggled, his tiny hand reaching out toward the bright lights of the tank. You leaned down and whispered to him, brushing his soft hair back. “Look, buddy. Fish. Do you see them?”
He babbled in response, his little fingers curling around the edge of the stroller as he tried to take everything in. "Fish." He called out.
Natasha knelt beside Stella, pointing out the different species in the tank. “See that one? That’s a clownfish. And there, that’s a tang, just like Dory.”
Stella gasped, her face lighting up. “Like the movie! Do you think they’re friends?”
“I bet they are,” Natasha replied, her voice soft and warm. For a moment, her usual guarded demeanor slipped, replaced by pure affection for her daughter.
As you moved on to the next exhibit, a massive tank that stretched from floor to ceiling, filled with rays and small sharks gliding effortlessly through the water, Stella gasped again, this time louder. “Mama, look! Sharks!”
Natasha’s face softened at the sound of Stella’s pure excitement. "Yes, there they are. Look how graceful they are."
"They look sleepy," Stella whispered in awe, her nose pressed against the glass as she watched a sand tiger shark slowly swim by.
You couldn’t help but admire the sight in front of you—Natasha, disguised but still every bit the mother she had become, and Stella, full of curiosity and joy. The sight made your heart swell with emotion. It felt like a lifetime ago that you had thought about having a family, let alone having one with Natasha. Now, as you watched the two of them, the love and happiness you felt was almost overwhelming.
"Hey, ma'am mind if I take your picture?" One of the workers with a camera asked. You glanced at Natasha, already knowing the answer, but instead of saying no, she reached out to give him her phone instead. She whispered something in his ear that you couldn't hear and pulled out a bill from her pocket.
"Of course," You smiled, leaning down to pick up Stella. You pressed your cheek against hers while Natasha scooped Nicky out of the stroller. Your smiles were wide and genuine.
"Thank you," Natasha said. "You guys have a great day!"
"You too," The man smiled, waving at Nicky, who waved back.
You put Stella down, watching her run off to the next tank. It took an entire hour to make it around the entire aquarium. You'd reached the gift shop and allowed for Stella to pick out a gift.
"That one," She demanded as she stood on the tip of her toes to reach the shark tooth necklace dangling from a display.
"Let me get that," Natasha said.
"Mom, look," Stella exclaimed, pointing at the shark tooth necklace.
"I see. Are you sure that's the one you want?"
"Yep, I am." Stella nodded excitedly.
"Okay," Natasha chuckled. Natasha purchased the necklace, carefully taking it out of the box and clasping it around Stella's neck.
"I'm gonna keep it forever and ever," Stella grinned widely. Another picture was taken on Natasha's phone. A beautiful moment to capture.
"Forever and ever," Natasha repeated.
After the visit, you and Natasha treated Stella and Nicky to ice cream.
"This has been the best birthday," Stella hummed as she licked at her ice cream. "Can we come back, please?"
"Maybe," Natasha smiled. "We'll have to see."
"Can I see the pictures?" Stella asked, looking at Natasha's phone.
"Sure," You replied. You flipped through the photos, stopping at one of you, Natasha, and the kids, the four of you smiling widely at the camera.
Stella pointed at the picture. "Is that us?"
"It is," Natasha answered.
"I love it," Stella declared, her eyes crinkling the same way Natasha's did when she smiled. "I want to look at it every day."
You glanced up at Natasha, a small smile playing on your lips.
"Me too," Natasha agreed.
Lots of foreshadowing here.

At Sea Without a Map Pt. 22
As you continue your dinner, you're struck with a desire to take things further, to explain that friendship isn't the only thing you want from Calibani, to finally hold her close and kiss that fish on the lips...
...but are those feelings real? Do you actually want a romance with this sea monster, or are you just some lonesome soul stuck at sea who got infatuated with the first human-ish being you've met? You spend so much time doubting yourself and your intentions, and of course whether your crush would even be reciprocated, that before you realize it Calibani has finished her meal and left the table to sort her new sweaters.
So fuck it, you decide to gorge yourself. You fought a storm and a sea serpent woman, ran from a stork, and stabbed the living shit out of a nightmarish hodgepodge monster made of rotting faces, it has been an EXHAUSTING three days and you deserve to let loose and eat your damn fill. Who knows what bullshit tomorrow will bring anyway.
Eventually you fill your belly and decide to spend a bit of time going over those papers in the Spindle, Inc. briefcase, but it's more or less a waste of your time - try as your might, you never manage to get much more than a quarter of your mind to focus on the task, and eventually you decide to just hit the hay and sleep.
~ ~ ~
The next morning you wake up to calm seas. With Calibani at your side, you take your boat out of the ship graveyard and set out in search of "Captain Peter," whoever that might be. Your fishy companion has a warm smile on her face, and as you put the graveyard behind you, a trickle of hope finds its way into your heart. Maybe it'll all be alright.
Then you look back, and see a fin sticking out of the water.
Your heart races. It looks like a shark fin - the assassins of the sea! If what Calibani said about this place (and what the past three days have shown you) is true, then any shark you'd meet out here would probably be some hyper-aggressive monster straight out of Jaws or a bad Sci Fi channel movie. You will your boat to move faster, hoping to put more distance between you and the shark.
But then its head crests out of the water, and you realize it's not a shark at all, but a dolphin, the clowns of the sea! It even opens its long jaws to let out an iconic dolphin giggle, a sweet and musical sound that speaks of a mischievous and good-natured soul! You feel your heart rate return to normal as this harmless-
The dolphin surges forward, making you realize it's a LOT bigger than it first appeared, and leaps out to smack headfirst into your boat, rocking it hard with the blow before disappearing below the skin of the water with a malicious cackle. You can see the dark shape of its body moving beneath the waves, and soon enough that dorsal fin crests out on a collision course for your boat. It's time to take action, so you consult your compass.

Azushin Mermaid AU Headcanons I Created at the Bottom of the Ocean Part I
Note: This is gonna feature other stuff and WON’T ONLY focus on Azusa AND Shin left alone. This is more informative details actually so ALSO keep that in mind
The ocean is very, very large. A lot of folklore and stories are told by people who’ve been in the certain town the longest
Very vibrant and colorful the deeper you go down into wildlife territory
The rarity of mermaids//merman can differ based on who you ask in the community, there’s NO true answer
Majority of people are actually scared to go beyond the border of the water
Carla and Shin are the very first people EVER to start hunting in the waters
Sharks to Dolphins, Octopus to all other creatures, they’ve caught a dozen to make money based upon selling//displaying their goods
Two in one deal with the Tsukinamis, nobody else is allowed to work with them for uncertain reasons
They don’t often share what they’ve found if it’s EXTREMELY rare, rather wait for the “perfect moment” to announce something publicly
The deeper and farther traveled, the more dangerous it gets, thought the more precious materials and animals will be discovered
The Mukamis live surprisingly not too far from humans, but are hidden very well for them simply
The Mukamis are the talk of the town and is the one out of many reasons nobody goes in the water than normal (whether that may go for fishing, surfacing, or swimming)
Kou is half siren and the only merman with an addition to his species
For Azusa being the smallest merman, he’s actually the fastest out of his siblings
Ruki, Kou, and Yuma are the only three OUT of four that have been to the surface
Azusa isn’t allowed to go out into clear water by ANY MEAN AT ALL (VERY dangerous)
The Mukamis have easily heard about the Hunter Brothers and how they make profit off high quality items off their kind
Azusa has never seen a human before and relays on Kou to describe them AND the surface to him
Yuma is the only one who can talk every type of sea creature (Just not sharks or leopard seals, whales are tricky depending what kind they are for him)
There’s been one incident where Kou tried to sneak Azusa beyond their safety and had three sharks chase after them
The scars on Ruki’s back is from another incident which was more of a sly ambush as a hammerhead shark tried to attack Azusa
They refuse to move to a different location due to where they are located having an equal amount of prey and predators not as crazy than expected (A good ecosystems as a matter of facts)
The Mukamis can understand English very well, though it’s difficult to understand their emotions most of the time
Carla sometimes goes out to hunt on his own as a way to punish Shin for getting too carried away
The Hunter Brothers are AWARE that Kou exist due to how much the kid has been up above water, though they play it safe and wait weeks, MONTHS even to track him
The one time Kou brought Azusa up was the ONLY time Azusa has any contact with the Hunter Brothers

Hey everyone! I hope you are all good! I'm listening to Manu Chao and writing some Selkie!Simon.
I've been working on a scattershot of things this week. There's a collab with the lovely @erzbethluna (which we have roughly planned and been laughing way too much about these past few days). This will be a long term project that we will take at a casual pace. I've also poked at What Remains After The Storm (thank you everyone who commented on chapter 8!), and begun researching my COTTA fics (a one-shot sequel to WRATS and a potential shipwreck/marooning fic because #OceanBullshit).
In terms of active writing, I've decided to focus on Selkie!Simon, because I've been keen to write this for quite some time. Here's a snippet
We drink more tea, eat more scones, and catch up on the past seven years. In between messy bites Simon tells me about all the places he’s been. He tells me about sand dunes, vast and sweeping, and children racing bodyboards down the steeper slopes. Seaside towns, where teenagers jump off cliffs into deep water and people ride pleasure boats. Harbours packed with crab pots and brimming with fishing boats. Morning vistas where the lucky may spot dolphins. The chaos on one beach when people thought they’d seen a great white, until it emerged it was just a basking shark.
“Have you ever seen a basking shark?” His hands are animated, spreading wide. “They have huge mouths, big enough to swallow a man, and they swim around with them wide open. But they don’t even eat meat. My mum told me they eat tiny things called plankton. They swim around waiting for the plankton to fall in. It’s wicked!”
Honestly, it sounds almost as terrifying as the seal.
Also, I'm publishing a secret crack fic this weekend. Here's a snippet.
“How come some sayings work and others don’t?” Petra asks.
I resist the urge to pull the lesson back on track. “Because not enough Normals understand their meaning. For example—”
“—but if I say to Sophie—” Petra lifts her wand, points it at her twin, “—pee your pants, she doesn’t pee her pants!”

i cant tell anyone this because im on marine biology tumblr and i love marine biology and i want to be a marine biologist and i love sharks theyre so cool and chill and thats why i cant tell anyone about this.
i know jaws was so terrible for shark populations all over the world and its done so so much damage to the cultural perception of sharks in general. and also fuck shark week i hate shark week everyone claiming to focus on shark education always just talks about the shark attacks. i know people are drawn to gruesome and scary things and shark attacks are perfect for that even though shark attacks are so rare and almost always accidental but only talking about shark attacks is really fucked up because yes sharks are dangerous but thats because theyre wild animals. every wild animal is dangerous. theyre not more or less dangerous or good or evil theyre just wild animals. dolphins are also dangerous. because theyre wild animals. (and before you run to the comments talking about how terrible dolphins are actually theyre the real evil ones: if you think that fuck off. dolphins are also just wild animals. theyre like sharks. theyre not good or evil and its not just cruel and stupid to impose human standards of morality onto animals it can also be very detrimental to how much protections or care those animals get. so. dont fucking say that shit)
anyway. jaws did so much damage to sharks all over the world and i hate it for that (and also i hate other shark movies. i watched the meg with my brother and wanted to throw a brick at the screen it drove me crazy) but the worst thing about jaws is that its actually a good fucking movie. like i really like it. its hard for me to like it knowing how much damage it did but i just. narratively its a really good movie and the direction is really good. the first time i watched it i was on the edge of my seat the whole time and i got really sad when they caught the wrong shark and i think people kind of missed that one of the things discussed in the movie is that thats not normal shark behavior, that something is wrong with this one shark. and the first time i heard the were gonna need a bigger boat line i was in the theater bc they were doing an anniversary thig or something and everyone lost their shit and i did too and anyway. my confession is that i secretly like jaws.

Shouto’s first kiss
Genre: Fluff
Pairing: TodoKiri (Todoroki Shouto X Kirishima Eijirou), dash of BakuDeku.
Synopsis: Kirishima and Shouto have been spending a lot of time together, feelings come out and feelings are shared.
————————————————
After the second war, society has slowly been rebuilding itself, and they stumbled but they were getting there to a better place. The new school year at UA had started and Class-1A, though officially they should have moved up sooner, are now Class-2A and are eager to be just students just teenagers again. Todoroki Shouto for one was happy he could finally relax, the last year being one of the most difficult years to handle for him. His father’s abuse displayed to the world, and his eldest brother believed to be dead alive and a villain.
Now though Shouto could focus on his school lessons, his dreams of being a reassuring hero and pursuing these feelings he had for a fellow student. Since the start of the new year, Shouto has been spending more and more time with Kirishima, and this was his first time feeling like this. Feeling like he was made of jelly, whenever Kirishima complimented him, feeling fluffy whenever Kirishima was near, and he felt like he was invincible like he was free. So, Shouto wanted to keep feeling those feelings, and in that case he would take any moment any chance to hang with Kirishima. Which is why when the new aquarium opened Shouto got tickets, and invited Kirishima to join him there. The two had just arrived at the aquarium, and were admiring the fish swimming. The lil nemo’s, catfish’s and the small sharks. Shouto peaks into one of the tanks, and then at the small board that has information on them. Stonefish.
“Hey Kirishima it’s just like you” Shouto said smiling, as he pulled Kirishima over to the tank.
“A stonefish” Kirishima reads, and then looks at the fish, “ehh but it’s so ugly am I that ugly?” Kirishima whines with a pout.
“I think it’s beautiful” Shouto replies, as he looked at this fish, “you too” he adds quickly. Kirishima looks to him eyes wide, causing Shouto to surprisingly blush.
“Well come look at this fish” Kirishima said smiling, as he pulls Shouto over to another tank. “The emperor snapper its red and white just like you” Kirishima said, as he ruffles Shouto’s hair.
“Heh we both got our fishes then” Shouto said, as he watches the fish swim by, “let’s go see the sharks the big ones…they look even more like you” he said softly, as he drags Kirishima to the next section of the aquarium.
The rest of the day went on with them enjoying the sharks, which Kirishima took great pleasure in showing off his shark-like teeth to them. Entranced by the dolphin and whale show, and intrigued by the octopuses and jellyfishes. By lunchtime they enjoyed meaty burgers, surgery goods and milkshakes - strawberry for Shouto and mint chocolate for Kirishima. They ended the day by seeing the turtles, and listening to the seal talk before making a leave of the establishment. The day was going so well for them, the aquarium was buzzful, the day bright and everything was going accordingly well. Until they stepped out of the establishment, and the weather turns sour as rain begins to pour soaking the two boys.
“My father’s home is close by let’s go there until the weather dries” Shouto suggested, to which Kirishima wholeheartedly agreed with him.
So, the two boys took off running for his father’s house, in hopes of getting out of the wet and into the dry. Not that it mattered they were already soaked right through, but they ran nonetheless because they didn’t want to get colds. So they ran and ran until finally they made it through the front door of his father’s house. After everything Enji and Touya resided in the old house, while Shouto and the others lived elsewhere but it’s not to say Shouto never visited them. Shouto and Kirishima take off their shoes, and coats before heading further into the house. Enji soon appears from around one of the corners.
“Shouto what brings you here? Oh you brought a friend” Enji said as he allowed them into the living room, Touya was say on the couch.
“Hi I’m Kirishima Eijirou it’s nice to meet you” Kirishima introduced himself, even though it’s not like he was completely unaware of who Enji was.
“We’re just going to dry off” Shouto said calmly, as he grabs Kirishima by the wrist and begins to drag him away.
“I’m about to cook dinner why don’t you stay for dinner? both of you” Enji suggested, Shouto turned to look at his father shocked.
“Since when do you cook?” Shouto asked shocked, cocking an eyebrow.
“Old fart has to entertain himself somehow…now that he’s retired and one armed” Touya spoke up.
“Well stay” Shouto replies, he was curious now to see if his father’s cooking would be on par with Fuyumi’s or not.
“Thank you for the kind gesture” Kirishima said with a bow, before he followed Shouto out of the room.
They entered what was Shouto’s old room, and technically still was if he ever stayed over the night. Shouto fished out some fresh clothes for them both, as well as towels to dry themselves off with. Quietly the two changed from wet clothes to dry clothes, drying themselves as they went before moving to sit on the futon together.
“I had a lot of fun today” Kirishima said smiling, as he finished drying his hair off.
“Kirishima I….I want you to know that I really appreciated your support in everything….after the first war when everything was going wrong you were there for me offering me comfort, showing me support and comfort it felt like you were my biggest supporter and after the second war you were there again” Shouto spoke, finally bringing up a lot of what he’s been wanting to say to Kirishima, “thank you so much” he adds.
“You were my friend and you were hurting you don’t need to thank me but you’re welcome” Kirishima said gently, he smiled at Shouto, but he soon noticed the wet still dripping down Shouto’s face and off his hair. “Come here let me dry you off” he said softly.
Shouto scoots closer to him, and let’s Kirishima dry his face off with a small towel. He then throws the towel over Shouto’s head and begins to rub his hair dry, he paused as the towel draped over Shouto’s face.
“Eh?” Shouto murmurs confused, as he surrendered to Kirishima.
“Just stay still” Kirishima whispered, as he leans in slowly.
Kirishima closes the distance between them, capturing Shouto’s lips in a soft but passionate kiss. To which he eagerly returned with a slight worry in the back of his head, murmuring that he was coming off maybe too desperate. He wanted this though, he really did so he returned the kiss with a fluttering chest. His lips slowly moving against Kirishima’s as he wrapped his arms around Kirishima’s neck. After a few minutes which was probably closer to a few seconds, the boys separated but Kirishima kept the towel hiding Shouto’s eyes and Shouto kept his arms around Kirishima’s neck.
“I think I love you” Shouto blurts out, maybe it was just the euphoria of the kiss that made him feel this, but he was sure of himself for once.
“Me too” Kirishima replies his voice soft, as he moves the towel to cover Shouto’s lips. He stared into the mismatched eyes, that have been in his dreams and offers him a soft smile. “Me too Shouto” “Y-you called me Shouto” said Shouto, a smile gracing his face as he pulls the towel out from under Kirishima’s hand.
“I did….is that ok?” Kirishima asks, Shouto nods his head. “I’m going to kiss you again” he says.
Before leaning in and kissing Shouto again, who eagerly returned the kiss. They continued to kiss, cheeks flushed and body’s close as they clutched at each other. The kiss lasted a little longer than the first, but they soon pulled a part and settled down to cuddle and chat about the day, the fishes and the little things before dinner time.
Lil later,
After eating with Enji and Touya, the two boys had returned back to UA. So here Shouto and Kirishima were walking into the dorms, hand in hand and a huge smile on Kirishima’s face. They were greeted by Izuku and Katsuki heading their way with garbage, Izuku’s eyes beaming as he spots them.
“Todoroki Kirishima your back” Izuku exclaimed happily, as he stopped in front of them.
“Thank god I can finally stop hearing your yapping about half’n’half” Katsuki spat, as he takes in the couple.
“Hey that’s no fair we as a whole class had to put up with you raging for month heh if not years instead of just sucking up the fact that you love Midoriya” Kirishima exclaimed, as he defended himself.
“Why you” Katsuki growls, as he drops the garbage, “forgive me” Kirishima squeaks, as he quickly pecks Shouto on the cheek.
Before taking off as Katsuki gives chase, small explosions popping off as he chased. Shouto and Izuku laugh at their two boyfriends, and their silly antics.
“Let me help you Midoriya” Shouto said, as he picked up the forgotten bags.
“Yes because then you can tell me everything” Izuku beamed, as they left the dorm buildings together, and Izuku was happy to hear about how amazing the date was and how happy Shouto was. He had his first kiss, his first date and the feelings he had festered were fruitfully returned in earnest.

some really fast first sketches for concepts of fantasy creatures I wanna focus on next when drawing, mostly done while sitting in a waiting room for an appointment, so don't expect too good a quality, and mainly for me as an overview to keep track of
I will presumably add even more, other humanoid species to this over time (e.g. I'll probaply plan for some Fairies with Butterfly-like Wings, too), but the following hybrids were the most obvious for now
Angel with Bird-like Wings
Fallen Angel/ Demon with Bird-/ Bat-like Wings
Drakaina/Drakon, Gargoyle & Vampire with Bat-like Wings as well - and additionally
for the half-dragons potentially horns, a tail and scales;
the Gargoyles probably with horns and perhaps even a tail;
Vampires maybe with differences between born and bitten or feral vamps or a transformation with a half/half-hybrid phase like DC Batman's Man-Bat or Van Helsing's Dracula
WereWolf-Design similar to Van Helsing or Underworld's Werewolves, rather than the basically human were's from SPN and the Teen Wolf series, Lupin's werewolf form from the Harry Potter movies, or Twilight's huge wolf shifters .. though possibly also with differences between born and bitten or feral wolves or stages for a waxing and waning moon and full-moon nights
Centaur (half-human/ half-equine (i.e. horse))
Satyr (half-human/ half-caprine (i.e. goat))
Harpy (half-human/ half-bird of prey (e.g. eagle/hawk/falcon/owl))
Naga (half-human/ half-serpent)
Merpeople (half-human/ half-cetacean (i.e. whale/dolphin) or -fish (e.g. shark or other scaled fish))
Cecaelia (half-human/ half-octopod)

GMA Voltes V Legacy Criticism
I can’t say how long I’ve wait to watch this series and i have high expectations of it. So out of love i just want to share my opinions and criticism. I am no way hating on this series but i care for it so much that i just had to critique it. KEEP IN MIND this is only covering the Frist episode that premiered today on GMA may 8. THIS IS MY OWN OPINION.
THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS
STORY CHANGES-
The fact the Voltes Team is training on the Camp Big Falcon Base. I want to say this is a huge change mostly because the Anime series starts off with the Voltes Team not know what exactly they are training for and are completely unaware of the Camp Big Falcon base and the idea of the robot Voltes V.
The Legacy series however has them training near base yet they do not know what they’re training for but some how know of the exist of the Voltes V robot. I’m hoping future episodes clear this up because i feel like this is a huge continuity error.
Little john’s lack of training. This is something i actually hope to see develop in the later episodes. I like the new take on his character and i can see this choice was mostly likely inspired by the later episodes of the anime involving Dr.Hook. I am only hoping his character isn’t downplayed to just be the kid of the team since they do acknowledges him as an engineer.
FLIM CRITICISM-
The opening training scenes with the Voltes Team training. Oh boy. I have so much to say for this since i literally think the only people who had accurate scene to the anime were Big Bert and Jamie Robinson.
Steve’s intro is flat out boring. He’s supposed to be a marksmanship. that opening shot did not give you any idea that he was even training. I was so hoping they could emulate him driving on a motorcycle while shooting. If not focus more on just his skills as a marksman.
Mark’s intro is also extremely boring. Maybe it was the environment he was horsing around in. The scene looke so empty there were no trees and even it if you didn’t want tree don’t make it a continuous wide shot have more close up shots following him on the horse. I can kinda see they’re leaning more to the cowboy side of Mark and even so he was just raiding a horse no whip or even making the horse jump.
I really like Big Bert’s training scene. I felt it accurately portrayed his scene in the anime. I have no idea why they choose to do his outdoors and not indoors like the anime but regardless it was good.
Little johns’s is extremely confusing form an outsiders perspective. Why does he have a dolphin. Does he like dolphins?. What is point of the scene. I get that making him kill a shark is a bit extreme to do in live action but that shows something of his character at least in the anime. At that point they should have made the scene of him being an a great swimmer or have him fixing one of battle ship boats that he does for the ship races. They could even done something more because that scene straight up does not make sense.
Jamie’s intro was amazing only confused why she had firearms. I know all of them are suppose to be good with firearms but the fact have she was duel welding pistols and not Steve was confusing.
Finally my last complaint I truly believe the actors could have done better if given better guidance. I mostly have an issue with line delivery regarding the “weapons call out” to me most of the lines seem devoid of enthusiasm or just lack intense. Also slight nit picking weapons name its “Frigate Missile” not “Frigate Rocket”.

I can't believe Earth and Luna finally decided to get a dog. Grandpa Sol's probably begging them to just give him a grandbaby already, lol.
The polluted saltwater, thick with muck and trash, not so much laps at my doorstep as pounds on my door like a loan shark's "agent" here to collect my overdue payment, along with a few of my toes. I huddle in the attic with my week's worth of canned goods, trying to focus on the lingering sweetness of the tinned peaches rattling in my hand as a cacophony of distant screams and sirens fills the air, each too far and faint to make out clearly but combining into a congealed, thick audible miasma that oozes into my being, infecting me with its dread, staining my soul with its foul greasy film.
I tell myself it's far more likely I saw a plastic baby doll in the water, floating face down in the opaque brown slop. A real one would have been picked off by the sharks.
I tell myself the sharks would have made my dog's demise quick, as they are mercifully brutal creatures not interested in playing games with their prey. Luckily it wasn't dolphins, I joke to nobody.
I tell myself my grandma is probably fine, despite being wheelchair-bound and living on the ground floor of her retirement home. There are procedures for this. Procedures followed by minimum wage employees as their own families stand at risk.
I tell myself these lies and more, desperate to cling to any scrap of hope, no matter how pathetic, no matter how tattered.
The waves pour into my home, the door finally bursting, giving way to a deluge of infected filth. The screams grow louder, nearer, or perhaps that's merely my perception of things. Better they're loud and near, I lie to myself. Means the people making them are still alive. Means the conditions in your immediate area are survivable.
The trapdoor begins to leak water from underneath. I can feel my house moving as the tides tear it from its foundation. I bust open the one small window with my elbow, not caring about the blood, nor the long, deep slashes the glass edges leave in my sides as I squeeze through. My fault for not preparing better, I suppose. I leave the canned food. I have to use for it anymore.
I scramble onto the roof, the water lapping at my wounded sides. It burns. The adrenaline spike helps me haul myself over the gutter.
I find my footing. The city in the distance is surrounded by smoke and helicopters. None near me, unfortunately. They need them more in densely-populated areas, I suppose, not these once-quiet suburbs. We can't have an infinite emergency response budget, after all. Our politicians need that money for hookers and blow.
The second moon stares down at me balefully from a bright, cloudless sky. For some reason, I almost wave, but catch myself. A strange sense of personhood attaches itself to that inanimate rock. It almost feels like the thing harbors a personality; evidently, an unpleasant one.
A dog that isn't mine paddles by, whining, giving me a pitiful glance as it passes. This creature I do wave to. Godspeed, little guy.
I think of dogs. I think of puppies. I think of sunsets, of the full moon, of the green earth and all its splendor. I think of love, of life, of colours. It was good to live. I'm glad I did. If only I'd chosen a better place to do so.
The roof shifts under my feet, and begins to tilt backwards. The rushing water drowns out the creaking, the helicopters, the screams, anything. I suppose it's about to drown out me, too.
I look at the moon one last time, the original one. A thin crescent today, a little toenail clipping, but still magnificent. Poor Luna had been caught at a vulnerable time by this imposter, it seems. I wish I'd have gotten to see the full moon just once more. No use wishing now, though. I got to see it as many times as I was meant to, anyway.
I close my eyes, the sun shining warmly on my face, and I spread my arms wide, trading balance for warmth. Thank you, sun.
The house jerks like a bucking bronco. It lurches forward one last time, as if fighting to right itself, and then goes limp, detaching completely from its base. The roof in front of me raises, blocking out the city, then the sun, then my entire view, a maw intent on swallowing me alive.
I let my feet leave the shingles. I let my body fall. I accept this. I think about my mom, my dad, my girlfriend, my dog. I think about love, about birdsong, morning frost, petrichor. I think about cinnamon buns, my favorite show, my uncle's dirty jokes, fresh sheets against my legs. I think about cracked desert earth, my graduation, my best friend's funeral, my boss's wedding. I think about my potted plants, fresh apples, my first concert, my last autumn. I think about life, and death, and all the good stuff in-between. I think about mud, and glass, and sharks, and gravity.
And as my bleeding back meets the ice cold sea as if two lovers in embrace,
I think about puppies.
Discover the beauty of “puppy earth,” a second, more beautiful earth that just appeared in our orbit. Ignore the apocalyptic tides

Happy Storyteller Saturday! If your OCs were stranded at sea, who would try to swim to shore (without knowing where shore is), and who would talk to sharks to pass the time?
Hey! I know it's Monday but I feel like answering this one.
This one's tricky but fun! I decided to expand the question to talk about what everyone (ish) would do when stranded period
Lexi - well first she'd have to get out all of her anxiety; she'll have a panic attack first, but once she's able to calm down, she'll try her hardest to make sure everyone with her is okay; she'd probably teleport to see if she can find any land; she'd probably ALSO try to keep morale up and end up stressing herself out and getting another panic attack
Maddie - she'd probably shapeshift into like a dolphin or a bird so she could scout ahead or maybe a whale to help push the boat
Ash - probably getting her hands dirty trying to see how the boat works but also not exactly helping; more like she's experimenting for fun
Gwen - surprisingly calm in the crisis and really good at helping people focus; she will brainstorm ideas on how to get out of this situation, and would be one of the few who can talk to Lexi
Noelle - annoyed at the entire situation, probably complaining and blaming everyone else because she said this was a bad idea; may eventually use her telekinesis to help steer the boat but she's more precise not big so maybe that wouldn't go well
Rose - would probably not be much help, no offense to her or anything; she'd probably shut down a bit and pretend everything is okay as she draws a picture in the boat
Kelsey - would just be like "guys we need to get an SOS out" but she's too shy to say anything
Hye-Jin - confident enough to say what Kelsey's saying; also would be the one who thinks she could swim to shore but she's stopped before she can try
Robbie - if anyone's talking to dolphins it's him; mainly I think he'd just constantly flipflop between trying to keep everyone calm and also freaking out; his powers are useful, converting energy, so that's nice but he definitely needs very specific directions on what to do or he'll metaphorically implode
Akash - oh he's horrified he's screaming crying throwing up this is awful but he'll hide it all inside as he probably flies ahead to see if there's anything out there; morale officer kinda deal, offering help whenever he can
Jedi - would be trying his best to figure out scientifically the best way to find the shore is as well as trying miserably to get everyone to pitch in
Carmen - definitely doing most of the work trying to figure out how to navigate to land, working with Jedi, but also complaining 100% of the time
Carla - probably daydreaming looking at her reflection until someone directly asks her to help with something, then she'll reluctantly do it
George - would also scout ahead but probably get distracted talking to a shark
This was fun! Thanks for the ask!

10 Indisputable Reasons To Visit luxurious spa resorts in Maldives
The Maldives are well renowned for its vast white sand beaches bordering the clear Indian Ocean, elevated waterside villas, and romantic activities like candlelit meals and wine on a floating gazebo. It’s late af blnk, I kidd you not I read “its beca” and literally said “who’s beca??”
hi anon! don't worry about the pipebomb thing. instead, let's focus on the magic of shark behaviors. did you know that sharks will swim toward you with their face because they don't have hands! nor arms or feet to scope you out-- they're just curious. a gentle hand on their snout will move them away and they'll decide, oh, okay, not a snack, good to know. also! many species love being pet. they're actually closer to sea puppies than you'd think, they're quite affectionate. many people often see sand sharks on their beaches, but i assure you, many actually mistake guitarfishes for sharks, when in fact, they're part of the ray family. these silly looking fellows don't want to be stepped on, so they'll most likely swim away from you if you do try and approach. speaking of approaching animals, the channel islands and the surrounding ocean is actually the most productive coastline on the planet aside from the arctic! seals, sharks, dolphins, and fish alike surround the islands-- but make sure you look and don't touch. many of these creatures are comfortable around people, but that doesn't mean you get to walk up to a bull sealion and touch them. See, unlike sharks, who just want to figure out who you are, sealions actually want you and your family dead; they'll lunge and bit, so make sure to stay back!
