i've been lucky with aerea so far but it is so so obvious when plotting/writing when someone just hasn't bothered to read your characters about, whether canon or original, or paid attention to any canon divergencies. like it really fucking sucks when you put your All into a character's bio, especially ocs, and tried to work them into canon as seemlessly as possible only for it to be completely tossed aside.

The au where Luffy dies and ace become captain (we seriously need a shorter name for that)

What if in dressrosa ace wins the fruit and gives it to usopp (I like the theory that previous devil fruit users souls sometimes become part of the fruit. So would be like having a part of luffy with usopp)

Most of me wanted to give the fruit to Sabo because tradition but this has made me think of Gear 5 Usopp and. I can't stop thinking abt it???

Usopp would be Different with gear 5 For Sure, instead of ridiculous direct violence he's pulling Wile E. Coyote inventive shenanigans. He paints perfect versions of himself on solid rock walls with one wide brush he pulled out of his hair, he's fighting someone and it pans out to a whole pulley system with an anvil that wasn't there before, he shoots himself out of a cannon, he pulls sticks of dynamite labeled dynamite out of his hair. He's not playing jump rope with his enemies or anything but he's still cartooning them to death

Also Usopp is smart and has good observation haki so after eating the devil fruit he probably Notices something. Maybe not exactly that it's a second soul in his devilfruit but his subconscious gives him hints, like seeing Luffy in the corner of his eye, hearing laughs in the creaks of the ship, more dreams about before Sabody than he normally does.

Usopp assumes this is just Luffy being Luffy, bending physics to his will and somehow being a ghost in the devilfruit so he takes all this with a deadpan.

Usopp telling Chopper a story: --and then he had to hide it from everyone except his barber so no one knew he had donkey ears!

Usopp: *hallucinates laughing from behind him*
