i honestly suspect that twitter famp stans reduce faust and grey's relationship to "he hates her" to downplay how he feels about mephisto's issues, you know, that he called out to greythroat. it's unfair and founded on lies and betrays just how much they need every single fucking thing to be about mephisto and famp. for fuck's sake, a traumatized child soldier with no support system essentially committing suicide due to years of bottled-up guilt and pressure is viewed as manipulative and suspect behavior. i cannot believe people actually dare to frame talulah's betrayal of famp and faust's hatred for talulah as faust resenting that mephisto didn't obey him enough. mephisto's obedience caused one of the most traumatic events of faust's life and the rest of faust's story is about trying to make up for it. fucking get this: faust doesn't want mephisto to follow him OR talulah blindly. it's not like any of this requires extremely advanced reading comprehension skills. they can try and rewrite faust's character all they want but arknights will never revolve around mephisto and they should have accepted that years ago. no one ever questions that mephisto completely ignored faust telling him to stop his violent actions multiple times but faust wants mephisto to stop thinking in the way that makes him rationalize these actions and people start going for the gold in mental gymnastics.

I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.

I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.

the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

and read about fucking gaza and palestine and keep up with what is happening no matter how "sad" or "uncountable" you might get.

the fact that shakespeare was a playwright is sometimes so funny to me. just the concept of the "greatest writer of the English language" being a random 450-year-old entertainer, a 16th cent pop cultural sensation (thanks in large part to puns & dirty jokes & verbiage & a long-running appeal to commoners). and his work was made to be watched not read, but in the classroom teachers just hand us his scripts and say "that's literature"

just...imagine it's 2450 A.D. and English Lit students are regularly going into 100k debt writing postdoc theses on The Simpsons screenplays. the original animation hasn't even been preserved, it's literally just scripts and the occasional SDH subtitles.txt. they've been republished more times than the Bible
