To be fair, most hesitate to bring concerns up with their partner because they have fears and insecurities about their partner's potential reaction. Or, they think they are making a big deal out of nothing and worry about needlessly upsetting their partner.

Talk to your partner if anything is bothering you. Relationships need to be transparent. If you are bottling things up and your partner has zero idea, it will inevitably backfire.

If your partner reacts negatively and isn't willing to work with you, or reassure you, then sorry to say they likely aren't the right person for you. Which, that possibility is another reason people avoid bringing up concerns with their partner.

Communication is always key. This is vital for a healthy relationship.

So, it's no secret that I love Westworld. As a fictive from a video game the first two seasons speak to my soul on a very deep, aching level. People who were assigned narrativess just to be used as game pieces who end up becoming conscious and then have to fight for survival and push to become their own people free of the belief that they are nothing more than characters. They are struggling to show that they are alive and very real. I could go on and on about the similarities between the Hosts and introjects. Seriously, Westworld hits different watching it as a fictive just like Sense8 hits different as a system.

What I wanted to make this post about was a very unique scenario they included in the second season. Westworld branches out into AU's and doubles territory. The Hosts run into an alternative version of themselves, and each display varying reactions that we have seen mirrored within the introject community.

Maeve and Akane

There is recognition and empathy for their counterpart. Their narrativess are close enough that Maeve understands the pain Akane has gone through and likely will go through if nothing is done. She wants to help Akane and spare her from the same pain Maeve has already experienced.

Hector and Musashi

They do not trust each other. It's the classic aversion and aggression displayed towards meeting a double. It may be because they know they wouldn't trust themselves and so cannot trust their counterpart, but the behavior was still strikingly familiar to the usual doubles hostility that I've seen around.

Armistice and Hanaryo

Attraction and fascination. They are full of curiosity and allured by their counterpart. This reminds me of someone not expecting to meet another fictive of themselves, and once they do, there is neither a deep connection nor distrust between them. Just curiosity. Getting to know how they are different and similar to each other. Maybe there is even a bit of self-attraction mixed in.

While I would have preferred to not lose a lot of my skills and knowledge, being here without everything that I thought made me, me taught me how to be vulnerable again and how to rise back up from it. It's still a work in progress as I learn to let myself be vulnerable without a fight and how to move beyond the things I once relied on. It's frustrating, and it's terrifying. But it's also healing. It's been good for me as a person, and it's been beneficial for our system.

But yes, I'd still kill to get back what I'd lost if it were possible. But until some miracle happens I have to look forward instead. I've had my breakdowns. I've hated myself. But I am also tired of doubting myself and my validity over things I've lost. Instead I want to be proud of who I am now. Even if it means accepting those losses.

Potentially back. A month away from the plural side of Tumblr is as therapeutic as I thought it would be, so I may extend it.

Things being away did not stop:

1. Alastor still wormed his way into our system. (Big reason for my leaving. I was trying to avoid Hazbin material, but Kit's media feeds had other ideas, so it didn't really do any good. We started off on bad terms, but I've since resigned and been begrudgingly more accepting of him. He hasn't caused trouble yet.)

2. We are still plural (this ones a jab at people who think touching grass will magically stop plurality. Maybe it's because there was only mud or snow touching me. I'll try again once the grass comes back to life. Bet that'll do it.)

Potential new introjection. We are waiting it out. So far I think he's around as a fragment. Not all the way solidified, with a huge potential to fade back into nothing. If he remains as is, there is certainly going to be some major difference between him and source.

Funny difference this time around. I'm fine with it while Kit is desperately trying to ignore and avoid anything to do with him. Maybe I dont care because I don't feel his presence as heavily as I did Alastor. Who can say.

Kit is fine, as long as they don't hear themself through a recording. Stolas and Al do not approve, but they also never front far enough forward to take the voice box. Al gets a laugh in, but that's as far as he'll go.

Now for myself. I do not *mind* the voice. At first I hated it, and it gave me a shit ton of dysphoria. But, the more I started to front and started to flex my accent, the more comfortable I became with it. It's mine now as much as it can be. There are still words or phrases I do not use outside of text because they do not sound as they should on the tongue, and it still can trigger dysphoria. But overall, I've reached neutrality with the body's voice.
