As they sit together on a beach in God-knows where, Madders feels a sudden surge of boldness wash over him. But as quickly as it began, the kiss is over, leaving Jack breathless and shaken. He looks into Jordan's eyes, searching for any sign of hope, any indication that they can make this work.

But all he sees is resignation, and Jack knows that despite his best efforts, he may have just lost the one person he can't bear to lose.
