Haha, it’s been a while hasn’t it? I fear I must admit I have been preoccupied as of late, for reasons you are doubtless already aware of. You’ve always been recognisant to change like that, but rest assured it’s still the same old me. I hope you do not take offence to my silence on the matter, I apologise for not reaching out earlier despite my encouragement for hardships to be shared, but I have been handling matters far beyond the walls of our kingdom.

Earthbread is vast, and my travels across its continents have brought me to epiphanies too pressing to ignore. One of the very first book series I read at the start of my journey was the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. Ever since then, it’s been very near and dear to my heart, especially Audrey Rose Wadsworth. She’s such an inspiration and I love everything about her, and it’s always a joy to reread and see her journey. I love how she’s a forensic pathologist, and it’s always so fascinating reading about her and her love for what she does. I also love that she isn’t afraid to be girly and always enjoys stunning and beautiful dresses, despite her macabre job. I seriously cannot get enough of this beautiful piece by the insanely awesome and talented @lauriques who added such gorgeous and fitting elements I didn’t even think of! She truly made this piece come to life and I cannot thank her enough for taking my request!

Well that’s just perfect!💜 He doesn’t want you frivolously wasting your time with other cookies anyway, not when he’s right here, and just as obsessed with you as you are with him (perhaps moreso). He knows everything about your tastes and likes anyway, after so much time watching you through other’s eyes (as much as his skin crawls at the thought of anyone else looking at you the same way he does), and anything he’s not a fan of (friends and family) is easily fixed with a little reconditioning, you won’t even notice anything is different, you’ll be too focused on him. After all, it’s only fair when he’s got eyes only for you for you to reciprocate the sentiment.

Thank you for the question my love💜 I think any of Mystic Flour Cookie’s ideal plans for her darling would involve keeping them secret and safe from the rest of the world, if they’re never tainted by the silly ideals of the cookies of the outside world then they can remain pure, apathetic and untempted by earthly desires, just like her. A husk for her to treat like a fragile doll upon a shelf where no one else could potentially damage or break them. What you have to think or say on this matter is of little consequence to her. A more resisting darling might be bound in silk, cocooned away from the rest of the world like she once was for what might feel like aeons, all to protect them from themself. At least until they learnt to be a little more understanding of the paradise she was trying to gift them.

And maybe, one day in the future when the world is nothing more than dust, the both of you could return to flour once more in each other’s embrace, doesn’t that just sound perfect? (She’s not asking for your opinion on this, merely stating a fact.)

I understand completely, I have plenty of favourites myself! Here’s who I had ideas for;

Narcissus - Does this yandere prefer to infiltrate their darling’s life, or do they prefer to take their darling away? 

Affogato Cookie - Affogato definitely leans moreso toward the latter option, perhaps because he’s an outcast himself ever since the events of his attempted usurping of the throne. However his techniques are far more subtle than outright kidnapping. Manipulating your trust until you don’t believe anyone except him is a piece of cake for Affogato, who’s already so well versed in the process. The only difference is he simply has to make you isolate yourself from everyone you know, and be ready to comfort you at the end when everyone you loved has turned from you and he’s all you have left.

Red Velvet Cookie - Very much so the latter. Red Velvet is inexperienced with social nuances and dynamics, and trying to introduce himself into any kind of relationship with his darling organically or inorganically without seeming antisocial at best and a threat at worst would be difficult for him. The cake tower is his home, and a far more comfortable environment for the crimson general than the day-to-day ongoings of his darling’s life in the kingdom. So if he can’t bring himself closer to you, he’ll just have to bring you closer to him.

Madeleine Cookie - Infiltration is such a sneaky word for it, when Madeleine more or less waltzed into his darling’s life and rooted himself in it without giving you a say in the matter. Who wouldn’t want to be in the presence of such a radiant paladin as himself after all~? He’s always there when you need him most (or least, depending on how you see it), all shining armour and smiles that could blind the sun should you so much as drop something. Worst of all is everyone else believes you’re the lucky one for having someone so dashing and noble looking out for you.

Caramel Arrow Cookie - Caramel Arrow is not entirely dissimilar from Affogato in that she teaches you not to trust those around you, but in a manner in which she genuinely believes it’s for your own good. Her days in the citadel where there are insiders working against you and her own king threw her into the cold after she’d done nothing but the right thing had her on guard for traitors 24/7, and she’d hate to have anything remotely similar happen to you. She’s not so extreme as to isolate you from everything and everyone you know, but if she notices someone trying to get close to you she’s immediately on guard. No one will hurt her darling while she’s around.

Lily - What would ultimately give the yandere’s true intentions away? Does the yandere do it on purpose, or is it an accident? 

Macaque is cunning enough not to leave these things out in the open, but mischievous enough to playfully hint at them all the while. He certainly has a flair for the dramatic, alluding to his darker intentions in a manner that makes you unsure if he’s joking or not and using smooth-talk to manipulate your feelings. However if push comes to shove he’s not afraid to be more open about it, although he resents having to give the game away so soon. It would have to be someone else’s goodwill that warns you of his selfish nature, but by then it might already be too late.

Narcissus - Does this yandere prefer to infiltrate their darling’s life, or do they prefer to take their darling away? 

Although he would much prefer having his darling to himself, hidden away somewhere where you could never betray him and run away, he’s well aware that if you have people likely to go looking for you, they’ll only get in the way. So he’s likely to try and get close to you in order to influence you, maybe by staging an accident where he saves your life, just to manipulate you into turning your back on your friends and bringing you running into his waiting arms to ‘protect’ you.

Pansy - What was it that ultimately sparked their obsession? 

Seeing his darling’s trust betrayed by someone would doubtless get under his skin in a way that makes him fixate on you, seeing you get hurt in a way he can heavily relate to would itch at him until he can’t seem to focus on anything else. Especially if and when it gets in the way of his ability to concentrate on fighting or brooding. He spends the majority of his time alone so it’s not hard for thoughts to smog and twist his mind, driving him to follow you from the shadows to ensure your safety. He just wants to make sure you’re not betrayed once more, or so he says to himself to begin with.

Cypress - How does this yandere comfort their upset darling?

Black Pearl has no idea how to comfort anyone, very much less someone so comparably small. She’s far more used to striking terror and fear into the hearts of sailors. But if it consoles you she would calm the seas she calls home for once, let their careful ripples rock soothingly in a manner so unlike their usual tidal waves that drag cookies to their death at the bottom of the ocean floor. The thunderous hails would quieten and only soothing rain would fall over the grey ocean waves.

Hydrangea - How would this yandere react if their darling gave them affection? What is their internal thought process like? 

She’s quite caught off-guard, unused to any kind of contact that isn’t wholly negative for so long. She’s likely conflicted, unsure how to feel about it. On one hand she’s been so insistent against wanting affection, hasn’t she? But the feeling isn’t a negative one, and this puzzles her. It might take her a while to get used to it, and she may not react positively to it to begin with, but she could certainly grow to tolerate it, especially if it’s you.

Pansy - What was it that ultimately sparked their obsession? 

A darling that not only survived the depths of the Duskgloom sea’s horrors after their ship went down, but returned to investigate the beautiful yet deadly siren of the deep in person would certainly intrigue her, and such an interesting cookie certainly can’t be permitted to escape her a second time. To be allowed to wander away in one piece purely on a passing whim of hers only to come back again like a bad penny? Now that’s a treasure she’d love to know more about.

Cookies are insignificant little things to the powerful titan of the ocean that she is, and you only a little barely less so. She could hardly treat you as an equal on any conceivable plane of reality, so you’ll have to settle for being her prized treasure instead. The crowning jewel in her throne of wrecked debris and sunken hopes, her darling would be no more and no less than the other spoils stolen from shipwrecks over the years, and treated as such.

Cypress - How does this yandere comfort their upset darling? 

He would never be outright about caring for your feelings if he can help it. At least not in a way that’s apparent to people who don’t know him well. He would avoid words, perhaps deciding to stay by your side until you feel better, maybe twining his tail around you in a reassuring manner that he refuses to acknowledge. Any shared words would be simple and sweet, he’s not going to fuss over verbal sentiment unless it’s him that made you upset in the first place.

Hydrangea - How would this yandere react if their darling gave them affection? What is their internal thought process like? 

He would likely put his guard up, unsure of how to handle you being openly affectionate with him in a way that wasn’t initiated by himself. He’d assume you were trying to put his guard down so you could escape while he felt soft or something of the like, rejecting your reciprocation. If you kept at it for a while though you would slowly but surely chip away at his defences until he felt safe being vulnerable with you.

Lime blossom - Does the yandere’s feelings for their darling fall more under “love” or lust? 

It’s hard to say, even Macaque isn’t sure how he feels about his darling. Perhaps it’s lust that developed into something more, or a general lovelust for your affection and attention that draws him into spending as much time with you by his side as possible. A churning sea of emotion that’s murky depths contain a selfish desire to keep you as his broils in his eyes as much as he tries to hide it.
