shawn had seen alot of things in life, but what he didn't expect to see when he got home from work was sid sitting on the floor in front of the tv, coloring in a transformers coloring book.

he knew the little alien liked the show, he was just confused on how he got ahold of the book and tiny box of crayons. he walked towards sid and kneeled down beside him.

"hey bug, what do you have there?" he asked softly. the sudden voice caused sid the perk up with a soft 'mrrrp?', his tongue poked out of his mouth as he went back to coloring. a soft chuckle left shawn's mouth as he watched the little gremlin color a picture of optimus prime.

his tail swayed happily behind him as he proudly presented his finished coloring page to shawn, a happy squeal leaving him as shawn approved of it.

"it looks good, bug." shawn smiled softly as sid's eyes lit up at the praise. a soft purr rumbled in his chest as shawn gently pet his head, his eyes closing as he leaned into the touch. "we should put it on the fridge, so the others can see it."

sid seemed to like the idea, as he quickly and carefully ripped the finished coloring page out of the book and rushed to the kitchen. shawn chuckled and followed behind him, sid looked up at him expectedly as he put the page on the fridge, using a magnet to hold it in place.

sid trilled happily as he looked at his work on display, his tail swayed excitedly behind him. "the others will love it, bug." shawn smiled down at him as sid purred happily and rubbed his face against the others shoulder affectionately.

At that moment he hears a voice, too far away to make out the words, but the tone and pitch were probably seared into his skull by now. There was an answering growl from Moon’s chest, the animatronic’s grip tightening on Gregory and his gaze fixed back the way they’d come.

Vanny was on the hunt again.

Beggars:

A hand slams into the side of an arcade machine, splintering the wood cabinet. The screen flickers before going dark, cyan sparks dancing over its surface, drawn to Eclipse by the magic writhing under his casing. It burns, and he revels in the burn.  “I don’t care about Moon! You cheated somehow, didn’t you?! Ran a magnet over your head just in time to avoid any messy consequences."

9. 🤔What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

So you guys know the DCA visual novel made by @/snowyrey, right? After Hours? Ever since I've watched my buddy play it I've been toying with an idea very loosely based on it. Most of the time the story goes either that the reader/main character gets hired some length of time after the weirdness starts, OR they get hired and then the weirdness starts happening weeks/months later. Right?

But what if the weirdness starts on the same night they got hired? And both the main character and the DCA are like "??!?!?!? Do you know what that was? No? Neither do I!" and they team up to figure out the mystery as the only folks they feel are 'safe' from the weirdness.

Anyway I think it'd be a lot of fun!

Ahh thank you for the ask!

1. My cats 🥺 Anytime they wanna cuddle with me I just feel like my day has been made. I've got two and they are the most precious babies.

2. Art 🖍 Most of the time I struggle trying to create, especially with drawing. But sometimes everything clicks and the stars align and suddenly I just... can. I don't know if that makes sense but it's a good feeling when it happens.

3. The Moon 🌙 I love looking up at the nightsky to see the moon and stars shining up there. I send a lil kiss to the moon and tell her she's doing great.

4. Gaming, of course 🎮 I've been playing videogames forever. I love farming sims, lots of simulation games in general, and of course FFXIV. It's nice to be able to step into another world for a bit.

5. Storytelling 📖 This is a big one honestly. I love telling stories, in a bunch of different forms. I like writing, theatre, and I incorporate storytelling into a lot of my drawings and paintings. I also play ttrpgs, mostly Dungeons and Dragons. I even run games for my friends!

Here's some dialogue from a vampire spawn oc, Anastasia. Turned by Leon less than a week before Cazador's defeat, with a son in Baldur's Gate. She doesn't want to go into the Underdark. She argues she isn't blood starved like so many of the rest. She is pivotal in how their little vampiric society forms:

"...Property disputes go to your member of the council. Worship of Shar or any devil, and signs of Shar or any devil should be reported to the Council. Two vampires of the House must always be in the Underdark. The council meets every new moon. Missing Council members forgo their votes, and vampire spawn are immediately up for replacement, while vampires and Étoile must have their deaths confirmed to be relieved of their positions on the Council. No vampire may substitute their vote on the council. Some votes will be open to all members of House Ienith. Punishments for law breaking will range from pain, to fines, to labour, to exile, to execution by beheading or exposure to the sun. "But we are not a stupid people. We want to eat and laugh and love again. We will flourish together. We will uplift one another. We will be free."

♻️ There are two moments of conflict with Wyll that I'm scrapping. I don't want to make him in conflict with Étoile just to honor canon that could've been more considerate to begin with. He's capable of social understanding wrt "monsters" if he can canonically romance Astarion, of being self-aware wrt the "devilish" appearances of tieflings, and of being happy helping people as Duke — really there'd be no shortage of combat, how familiar are you with the forgotten realms? dfjshgbskdjh

But that does mean that I'm losing a planned moment where Étoile leaves the duke's estate to spend a night at The Favored Knight, a classy inn in Hightown I made up and Astarion comes to comfort them. I'll share some blocked dialogue:

It's like 2 AM.

Étoile: A room is 14 gold? Innkeep: Yes, sir. Étoile: Here's twenty-five for a room, a bath and a bottle of wine, and two more if you can find me a messenger to go to the lower city? Innkeep: Certainly. Do you have a letter prepared? Étoile: No, I'll need a minute to write it. Innkeep: Of course. Right this way. I'll send three up with the bathwater, and either I or another will come for the letter. Étoile: Please. Innkeep: My pleasure, Mla'ghir. [i headcanon this name to find purchase in their vampire community and slowly fall into public knowledge; this is just a statement that they're recognized, and there's an implication of discretion as a reflection of authority]

Astarion. I am at the Favored Knight in Hightown. I wanted a bath and to be away from our old friend. Things did not go well. You are welcome to stay at home, but if you came to me … I would appreciate the company. All my love, Étoile

[some time later]

Astarion: Do you want to talk about what happened? Étoile: Say you love me. Astarion: Oh, Endanya, more than anything. I love you. Étoile: I love you too. Wyll, he— [REDACTED] Astarion: He's had a long time to [REDACTED] Étoile: [REDACTED] Then he wouldn't allow me time to dress before he stormed out. It felt … very undignified. Astarion: Fuck him then. Étoile: Astarion. Astarion: No, I— I don't want you treated that way. Étoile: He said we could talk about it tomorrow, and he did apologize. I want to hear what he has to say. Astarion: [indignant] He's going to hurt you again. Étoile: [resigned] Probably. Astarion: [REDACTED] Étoile: [REDACTED]

And I still want Wyll as part of their relationships, so I worried about how conflict would be to my audience. It'll be lighter. Different. Better.

Marc Spector as a regressor🖤:

🌕 needs down time/alone time after regressing

🖍 well behaved but became more playful and/or fussy as he became more comfortable with you

🌕 his nicknames for you: Baba, bubbi, miss/mister, mama, toot toot (/ref).

🌕 prefers his thumb over pacifiers. He chews on his shirt hem or sleeves a lot as a replacement to a teether when he’s nervous.

🖍 has a bedside chest of toys. He has mostly toys and activities he missed in his childhood. You buy Marc more modern things as well and he’s totally in love with those too.

🖍 his regression is mostly involuntary and easily negative without supervision. That said, he often has breakdowns.

🌕 I cannon that he has a petspace as well

🖍 he likes onesies a lot but it took you a LONG time for him to be comfy wearing one around you willingly.

🌕 steven usually has the body while Marc is his small self because the outside world is very scary for Marc. When you’re around though, he’ll come out.

🖍 loves when you play with his hair or help him bathe (he either loves or hates bathtime so its helpful to ease him into it first). That said marc also cant stand being cold or cant sit still for the life of him.

🌕 he tries not to call you cg nicknames but fails miserably.

🖍 marc gets frustrated with himself pretty quickly, especially when he struggles to communicate. He gets aggravated with his babytalk and when that happens, you grab him a notepad to write on instead of talking.

🌕 also has accidents at times like Steven, but it takes an excessive amount of stress.

🖍 Oh boy does Marc love praise and being babied.. especially when he’s having trouble fully regressing, he doesn’t even need to say he needs help before you’re already making him slip.

🌕 LOTS of upset stimming (sometimes they are self harmful- you and Steven work with him to accommodate for them.)

🖍 Marc is pretty giggly, he loves when you read him silly stories or tell jokes to cheer him up.

🌕 Enjoys watching TV sometimes but would rather get attention from you and entertainment away from devices.

🖍 bedtime routine all the way ; its particular to helping him ground before bed so he doesn’t have night terrors and only sleep in increments.

🌕 when he’s small, the boys usually go through a lot of switches before Marc is fully regressed and okay on his own.

🖍 this should totally be at the top but his age range goes from 1 years old to 9-10 years old. Although his common headspace age is around 5-6. Marc regresses due to trauma, to cope, for stress and other reasons!

sid wasn't sure how it had happened, he was asleep on the couch with aurora one minute.

and in his old bathroom, looking at his corpse the next.

thick lines of crimson splattered across the cool tile off the bathroom sink and floor. the body laying on its side, the wound on his skull and torso oozing blood. the razor scars along his forearms accompanied the puddle of crimson.

sid had remembered how he screamed, how a deafening crack rang out when his skull collided with the porcelain sink. hot tears pool out of his eyes as the memories came flooding back in the worst way possible.

he remembered to disgusting scent of the blood, how it made him feel nauseated. "i'm not supposed to be here! take me back!" sid screamed at his lifeless body, attempting to shake the corpse.

to his horror, his hands wafted through it, as if it were air. a sob escaped his mouth as he crumbled next to his body. "why did this happen?! why now?" he shrieked to no one in particular as he sobbed pathetically.

it made him think of slipknot, his brothers. and he hated it, hated how they must've felt terrible and regret that they didn't help him. he just wanted to see them, one last time.

suddenly, his eyes snapped open and he was back in the common room of the ghouls den. his cheeks stained with tears as he looked around frantically, he then untangled himself from the ghoulette (much to her confusion and worry) and slowly walked back to his room.

he closed the door behind him with a slight slam, as he wobbly made his way over to his dresser.

it was where his old gas mask was. so many memories it held, sid was glad he kept it. he shakily grabbed the leather mask from its place and took in the features. he could feel himself tear up again as he remembered the memories his first mask held, the first album held.

sid held the mask in his clawed hands as he walked to his bathroom. once he stepped inside, memories of his death came back to him. he groaned softly as he clutches the side of his head, the blinding light of the mirror made a migraine bloom.

he felt bile start to come up his throat as he rushed to the toilet. he kneeled in front of it, setting his mask off to the side as he spilled the contents in his stomach into the bowl. tears formed as he vomited from the pure stress and exhaustion.

his ears rang as he moved to sit on his knees, he looked at his mask in his hand. he wiped the excess bile off his mouth with the back of his tattooed hand.

he couldn't even hear mountain or swiss call out his name from behind the locked door as he put his old mask back on after what felt like centuries. he stood up on shaky legs as he looked at himself in the mirror.

he looked like he hadn't slept in days, the leather mask fit snug around his head. just as it did all those years ago. a soft sob left him as he crumbled to the floor again. his knees hugged against his chest.

that was until swiss had unlocked the door from the outside and hurriedly rushed inside. "sid??" he said quickly as he rushed to sid's side. sid's wings immediately wrapped around himself as swiss attempted to gently touch him.

"bug, what happened?" swiss asked softly as he gently stroked sid's hair. swiss could hear the younger ghoul quietly babble incoherently as he rocked back and forth.

"death... death, death. death!" sid shrieked and immediately jerked forward as he started mumbling the word 'death' over and over. his eyes were blown out, he suddenly jumped up and dashed out of the bathroom.

"mountain, grab him!" swiss yelled to the earth ghoul outside of the bathroom as he chased after sid. mountain had gently grabbed sid by his forearm and pulled him against his chest.

the younger ghoul thrashed in his gentle hold as he screamed and sobbed. "no! stop!!" mountain gently began swaying back and forth, "petal, we're trying to help you.." he whispered.

sid trembled as his sobs calmed down, since swiss had trickled a tiny bit of quintessence into his nerves to calm him.

swiss gently cupped his masked cheek, sid's wet eyes traveled upwards to meet swiss' gentle gaze. "hey buddy.. thought we lost you for a second." sid sniffles softly as he laughed sadly. "i'm not goin' anywhere yet.." he slurred, his voice quiet.

"do you wanna tell us what happened? 'rora told us how you rushed in here after you woke up.." sid lowered his head, as the memories flashed in his mind.

"had a nightmare, i guess.." he mumbled. "don't wanna think 'bout it."

mountain nodded, "okay bug, we don't have to talk about it until you're ready.."

sid groaned softly as his eyes became heavy lidded, swiss chuckled softly at this. "everyone else is in the common room waiting for you, let's go see them yeah?."

sid nodded slowly, as the three of them walked out into the common room.
