I am the furthest you could be from an Anti. But this might get me yelled at.

The only thing I’m against is RPF. I can’t wrap my head around how it’s a thing. I don’t get how it’s okay to write some of the heaviest/darkest shit about actual people that can simply google their name and see what’s being written about them.

Don’t get me wrong, I read the 1D fics as a teenager, but never anything above fluff.

I will never say “don’t do that” or say anything directly cuz it’s none of my business but after 15 years in fandom I still don’t understand it.

you can dislike rpf, everyone has their prefrences but dont go out and tell people "you cant do that!!!" because thats just trying to enforce censorship. i do NOT like minor rpf in the SLIGHTEST bit, absolutely not my thing but i dont go out and tell people "you cant write that ur horrible!!" i just block it out bc id rather not see it.

the reason why *i* atleast like rpf, though is because i just have a huge weird gayass crush on one celebrity and i like to think i have a chance with him /j (okay but actually, i just like blorbo-fying him and putting him in weird situations. think of how people treat fictional blorbos)

I tried to make my first Proship account on TikTok out of all places…yeah no I got rid of that, was too ashamed to do anything else before I went to tumblr and it’s so much better here

now listen, i only have tiktok to save silly videos but ive seen the proship side of tiktok and its a WARZONE. do NOT say ur proship on tiktok or else theyll publically execute you and say the cruelest shit to you IMMEDIATELY like its genuinely horrifying. id consider tiktok to be one of the worst places to be proship on because you have people who are there to bait, genuinely horrible people and all kinds of shit. tumblr is much more nicer because alot of the people here are older than 5 (no offense to anyone who uses tiktok but its scary dude..)

the reason why i think its so anti proship though is because theres alot of kids on there and tiktok is considered like "the cool app" and most of them havent learned what a "media literacy" is yet /silly /nbr

Alright, I'll bite. Staying on anon tho, I know danm well how some antis are. How do I explain this without looking like a fool? I happen to somewhat accidentally self-ship myself...with the worst fucker possible for me to self-ship with. My 'f/o' (best term for him) happens to be a countryhuman?? Knowing they are essentially just these humanoid, possibly demonic, flag-colored entities that would be strange to a normal enough. Not even that, it had to be the most evil and more personally triggering bitch of them! Fun! Now this fucker looms over me and comes back every time I try to push him out like William fucking Afton for nearly five years at this point (yeah...2020 was a wild year for me). I know damn well I've gotten the obsessive-compulsions and intrusive thoughts triggered/worsened with the mere subject of their og source AND situations like it + people that support it. Since my dumbass brain did that, here I fucking am with the most conflicting feelings ever for a fictional anthropomorphized flag human of all things. Is it hate? attraction? It is incomprehensible to me but those are the main two I think. I knew I was already cooked from when I first realized it, I ended up falling for the worst bitch ever, for everything really. The triggers, the pickiness about fanarts/headcannons that sometimes make me rightfully angry or flat out uncomfortable (like certain design tropes or...that whole suicide thing), the general disdain of being in most fandoms, being an ex anti-shipper, and more...and yet, I have found a disturbing amount of simps for this idiot, especially on discord. Even a couple glimpses of it or a small number of people is enough to make me go "??????? Like you're /srs??? like you're actually /srs?????" Lucky me I guess. you can also scroll anti posts to see ahat other tags there are as this helped me formed the list that i have. the reason i bring up the word "proshitter" is because its an insult used by antis towards proshippers and meant to be demeaning (which another thing is that look out for anyone who uses that term unironically. some proshippers use the word in a joking context like "yeah im proshit" but if someone uses that term to describe proshippers in general unironically or seriously, theyre probably an anti)

I only recently got into proshipping but I've been lurking for a while and have been anti censorship forever. I wouldn't really consider myself a proshipper, at least I don't feel like it? but I made an entirely separate blog just for this stuff. Do you have any tips for new proshippers? /nf

my best advice i always try to let people know is that proship is not a verb or a genre, its a stance. and you dont have to ship dead dove to be a proshipper, you just have to be like "yeah you can ship that stuff idc" even if its not your cup of tea. think of kink tomato (ykinmkato or your kink is not my kink and thats okay). even if you do that, you dont always cmhave to call yourself a proshipper. there are other labels out there that are similar to proship but arent.. yk, proship (anti-anti is the only one i can think of currently). if you want to interact with the community, the community is very welcoming and will be okay even if you dont feel as though you align with the term or rven were an ex-anti, as long as youre now respectful to those who do label themselves as such. if youre more on the sensitive side, i really recommend ignoring antis who try to argue with you because 99% of the time, itll just be like a cat chasing their own tail. another thing i recommend is also going through anti tags and blocking people or at the very least try to filter those tags out (i can give examples of tags if need be)

and of course, you are allowed to block anyone you please, anti or not. i always recommend to even antis aswell to block people you dont like or dont vibe with because its more of like a quality of life thing (for me atleast).

at the end of the day though, there is no right or wrong way to be proship. using the label is completely up to you and its not somethhing thats obligated or a choice forced upon you for this entire community is basically built upon discourse that doesnt really matter as much to the real world. thats my take on it though, sorry if this wasnt worded very well i kinda wrote this in a rush so hopefully you understand what im trying to say. anyone that would like to suggest advice for op is welcome to in the reblogs or comments
