I think people are warming towards it because of how adorable the situation is but. A lot of people have been skeptical over giving such a big part of the plot to Holly and the rest of these kids being taken in by the military for some kind of experimentation. What you need to understand is that these are more or less plot devices to explore trauma the party faced in Season 1, especially Will and El. And to explore the larger theme of childhood in the show.

Holly is a manifestation of Will’s younger self. Imaginative, sensitive to the supernatural, naive, helpless. She is personally sought out by Henry - just like Will was. Will wants to protect her not just because she’s an innocent child and Mike’s sister, but also as an allegory for him attempting to comfort and soothe the traumatized child within. And protect someone else from what he has been through. Giving her DND character the title of Cleric and creating a callback with ‘The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler’ deepens this connection.

The new kids by large are reminders of how young the party, now teens, were when they started the show. HNL is back ‘nabbing kids and using them for experiments. El and Hopper eventually pick a kid up in their humvee, Robin and Mike go through the tunnels to rescue some more kids from the barracks. This one is more personal to El, given she spent her entire childhood in captivity. In recusing the kids she is rescuing her young self.

Even with Henry. My current belief is that he wants to destroy, then reshape, the world into his ideal utopia (with only children). Cue the multiple Peter Pan references. A Neverland where everyone is a child eternally forever. There are deep cuts too from his life, which I’m sure we’ll explore further. Something he missed out on in childhood and wants to get back. Probably the disruption trauma can bring to a childhood, and the impossibility of giving that time 🕰️ and innocence back.

The entire show also serves as a callback to the (intended) audience’s childhood. An 80s romp that makes every reference it can to something nostalgic.

Will (in my opinion / theory) freezing Upside Down Hawkins permanently in 1983!

The end of the show coincides with the end of the nostalgic escape it brings. The message being: childhood is precious and we should hold onto it in memory, but you have to grow up eventually. You have to accept change. You can’t turn back the clock.

Perfectly Normal Regeneration Side Effects No One Warned You About

A lot of people ask about the process of regeneration and what happens when it goes drastically wrong—failed forms, limb loss, identity fractures, etc.

But curiously, no one's ever asked about what could be considered perfectly normal side effects. Because everyone knows about the usuals of amnesia, coma etc., but what about some of the other, more weird ones? The kinds of things that don't raise an eyebrow on Gallifrey, but would absolutely send a human reeling?

These side effects are harmless and temporary, just a display of your Time Lord undergoing the proper due process.

✨ 1. The Glow Phase

Yes, that's meant to be glowing. Probably.

In the hours after regeneration, Gallifreyans are flooded with artron and lindos energy—both highly reactive and bioactive. Which raises an important (and slightly gross) question: do bodily fluids glow?

Yes. Probably.

Urine and stools may become unusually orange, iridescent, or faintly luminescent.

Vomit can also glow, especially if expelled rapidly.

Sweat, tears, and saliva may shimmer subtly in certain lighting conditions.

This typically lasts up to 15 hours post-regeneration and is harmless (if unsettling).

🌈 2. Post-Regeneration Sensory Overload

Everything feels wrong.

Every regenerated body builds a new sensory framework from scratch. Since no two incarnations process input the same way, early hours can include:

Synaptic overlap – senses miswire or fuse (e.g., tasting colours)

Hypersensitivity – breathing hurts, red is too bright, socks feel itchy

Delayed perception – reality may arrive half a second late and feel emotionally charged

This usually resolves in 1–3 days.

🦷 3. That Doesn't Belong There

Your body's trying its best.

Regeneration reconstructs every cell in your body based on your biomorphic template and biodata—but it's not an exact science.

Sometimes structures appear in the wrong place. Imagine:

A tooth on your thigh

A second uvula in the left ear

Eyelashes growing on the knuckles

In 98% of cases, the body repositions the misplaced tissues automatically once the lindos cells finish their internal sweep within 8 hours. In the other 2% of cases you might need to schedule a visit to the hospitallers.

🪞 4. Seeing Your Past Self in the Mirror

Also normal. No need to scream.

Immediately post-regeneration, psychic residue from the previous form may sometimes interfere with visual self-perception. The reflection may temporarily appear as:

Your previous self

A future version of your current self

Someone you've never seen but somehow recognise

This is probably due to residual biodata echoes, especially in Time Lords with strong memory cohesion or traumatic deaths.

It likely is intermittent and fades in under a week.

🧍 5. Post-Regenerative Dyspraxia

Nothing is where it used to be.

Just imagine you wake up one morning with different-length limbs, larger hands, and much-smaller feet, but your brain is still calibrated for the old model.

This disconnect results in a lot of clumsiness. Gallifreyan neuroplasticity is fast, so most regain full coordination within a few days. Until then, stairs are not recommended, and cups with handles may become an issue.

🏫 So...

Regeneration is miraculous. It's elegant. It's biological poetry. But it's also utter nonsense for a while, and no one talks about it.

violinspector headcanons bc ive been hit with them all at once ???

takes them a LONG time to get together. raph and ivy try to play matchmaker but marius always shoots them for it. marius wants lyf to get used to the crew and their trauma before he starts spilling his guts.

lyf has horrific nightmares so marius offers to share a bed with them, claiming it helps him (which it does!!), and lyf initially says no but after one month with minimal sleep they cave. (ace4ace violinspector SAVE ME)

marius LOVES to play with lyfs hair. he braids it for them often

lyf is very protective esp when the mechs get involved with fighting. as if marius isnt immortal. yes marius SWOONS (local man dies due to partner being hot, more news at 6)

lyf confessed first.

lyf and ivy end up becoming besties. they bond over books and history.

when they pick lyf up, they actually find their corpse!! more or less…….the mechs are messing around on a city planet, mostly one for shopping and gambling. they get back to their ship to find brian, TS, and nastya on the ship with…..lyf’s corpse???? apparently they tried to hijack the ship and take off, not knowing 1) the ship is sentient and 2) three crew members were on board. they’re shot pretty quickly. enter lots of furious/shocked/devastated yelling from marius and to a lesser extent raph + ivy. lyf regenerates a few minutes later, opening their eyes to the face of…vom raum. “well, i guess their ours now” —jonny post lyf immortality lore drop

🩸 Lyrics or melody first? usually lyrics. words come like a possession. like i blacked out at 3AM and woke up with a verse that tastes like blood and heartbreak and an unpaid therapist. but sometimes—a melody will haunt me. like humming something in the shower and realizing it’s new, it’s mine, it’s not letting go.

⚙️ Software? i’m a logic pro x bitch. sometimes flirt with ableton for warpy stuff, but logic’s the home base. (vx lives in a dimension where plug-ins are her lovers and her interface is her altar.)

🪞 What Are the Backrooms?

For those unfamiliar with the mythos, the Backrooms are a human urban myth/legend that describes an endless, liminal labyrinth of fluorescent-lit, yellow-carpeted rooms that one "noclips" into by accident—that is, by falling through reality itself. Once inside, escape is rare, sanity is optional, and time seems to move�� wrong.

Key features include:

Shifting architecture: rooms repeat, distort, and change dimensions.

Non-Euclidean layouts: corridors loop or stretch in an impossible manner.

Chronological instability: time appears to pass inconsistently, if at all.

Paratextual paranoia: Vaguely-described 'entities' may stalk the corridors.

🌀 So, Are They a Broken TARDIS?

Let's examine the possibilities.

📦 TARDISes and Interior Collapse

When a TARDIS is damaged, especially from temporal stress, its dimensional interior can collapse into paradox loops or misfire into recursive spatial traps. We've seen:

Corridors twisting endlessly, and rooms vanishing from memory.

A corrupted TARDIS creating an infinite prison of alternate timelines.

So yes—TARDISes are capable of housing rooms that shouldn't exist and sometimes do so maliciously.

🔧 Diagnostic Parallels

Backroom-like phenomena could be explained by:

A rogue or feral TARDIS losing control of its architectural configuration.

An Interior Perception Filter gone haywire, trapping occupants in looping cognitive constructs.

A crashed prototype (pre-Type 40) abandoned in the vortex and left to rot until reanchored to N-Space.

🚫 Counterpoints

But let's not jump to conclusions:

The Backrooms have no known control room or Eye of Harmony.

The "noclip" mechanic is anomalous even by Gallifreyan standards. TARDISes don't usually kidnap people without a psychic link or a darn good reason (though you may counterpoint this one with sheer madness).

No known signs of a symbiotic interface.

🏫So ...

Could the Backrooms be the decaying husk of a broken TARDIS? Possibly. But they could just as easily be:

A collapsed pocket dimension.

A trapped reality fragment from the Dark Times.

A thought-based prison from the 10th Dimension.

Or (most likely) a low-level spatial trauma node clinging to a forgotten corner of the Web of Time.

Either way, we don't recommend it.

🕰️ Before the house, Yui had a crush/situationship/relationship with a girl.

🕰️ Yui definitely suffers from comphet.

🕰️ She’s a lesbian suffering from comphet, or at least a bisexual— leaning preference towards women and very little men.

🕰️ However, based on all the routes with all the boys, and her only developing an actual romantic attraction due to Stockholm Syndrome (mainly by a purely psychological approach to her conditioning, then eventual development— as well as the heavy abuse she as placed under to get to the select boys’ character development,) I’d say she’s a lesbian.

🕰️ Her entire life she was surrounded by men who asked a lot of her, and controlled her day to day routine.

🕰️ Her father canonically neglected her a lot when she was a child, leading her to gather household skills by a young age to sustain herself.

🕰️ She has an iffy relationship with her father, as she tries to speak well of him. However his sketchy— borderline pedophilic— behaviours towards her are questionable at best.

🕰️ She was heavily conditioned her entire life, unknowing of what her truth was other than what happened to be force fed to her.

🕰️ Yui would pray to be ‘normal’ because she was afraid that she was cursed.

🕰️ She’d been told her entire life what happened to be ‘right’ and ‘wrong.’ So why was it now, that her happiness was considered a sin in the eyes of the lord…?

🕰️ It would take a ravenette woman to change that, or at least allow Yui to understand that it’s okay, and normal.

🕰️ She’d meet her beau whilst in the alley ways in Romania after sneaking out.

🕰️ Yui would tell you that, that night was the first time she felt truly alive.

🕰️ Her heart pounded, adrenaline to it’s all time high, her cheeks stained in a pinky-blush.

🕰️ I’d like to think that Yui has anxiety, or just high stress and ability to stress easy— but hides it well.

🕰️ Hence, nicotine.

🕰️ Yui 100% smokes, especially when she’s stressed. Even more so when suddenly moving in with the vampiric families she’d find herself acquainted with.

🕰️ So, there Yui was, smoking in the alleyway, when she meets her.

🕰️ Long black hair, reaching hip length and curled at its ends. Lime green eyes that stopped rooms and froze even the largest of crowds. She was beautiful, she was ethereal— coming out of an old 1950’s vintage movie, Yui knew she was home.

🕰️ Some would say that the woman fell first, and Yui fell harder due to her dwindling faith. But Yui would say otherwise. They both knew otherwise.

🕰️ The woman? As she laid eyes on the blond, she knew she would be sticking around.

🕰️ Yui was never one for love at first sight, as all her given descriptions were supposed to be with a man, she could never gaslight herself to find the appeal.

🕰️ But that night… Yui couldn’t tell if it was the way the moon shone down, or the way the woman looked like an ethereal being from the heavens and hells. But one thing was for certain. For once, she believed.

🕰️ Yui knew that she’d love this woman for this life and the hundreds of other ones they’d share.

🕰️ She would wait, despite her reservations of her faith, she knew that she would never love anyone the way she loved this girl.

🕰️ Yui didn’t want to find another, not when the one she’d marry was right in front of her.

🕰️ It didn’t take long for them to share the cigarette Yui was casually taking in. And it didn’t take long for Yui to become a giggling mess at the woman’s jokes.

🕰️ Time stopped, and perhaps it was that, that made the two’s meetups become more frequent.

🕰️ They’d go to the late night carnivals, walk alongside the alleyways, and go on small dates— all in secret of course.

🕰️ In fact, on one late night carnival date, the two would find a photo booth, where they’d share their first kisses.

🕰️ Yui still keeps the pictures with her.

🕰️ The woman would play the piano for Yui, and even teach her a few songs.

🕰️ They would always gift each other flowers on their late night dates. Always surprising each other with what they came up with.

🕰️ Even going as far to see who’s bouquet of flowers matched the theme of their date the best.

🕰️ It would go on for a few years, with them meeting around when Yui was 13, and until Yui was 15-16, would they stop.

🕰️ The reason? The woman would get killed by the church, all on Seiji’s orders. As if to teach Yui a lesson.

🕰️ She’d be exorcised. A formal exorcism to be taken place in one of the church’s basements. And by Seiji’s orders, would Yui be forced to watch.

🕰️ The woman would smile at Yui, despite the pain, and Yui would stand there, next to her father, as the love of her life was killed.

🕰️ Yui’s Lovers’ last words were simple, sweet, yet soul crushing.

🕰️ “You’ll do wonders, Yui.”

🕰️ After it was done, Seiji would pass Yui by, before muttering one last remark at her.

🕰️ “Understand, that this is what shall come to pass when you entertain the devils sin. You, too, shall be cleansed.”

🕰️ To this day, Yui could never fill the hole in her heart. The place that the woman left was infillable. She didn’t want anyone to become the next.

🕰️ In fact, Yui partially blames herself. For not being too careful, for letting her pride get the best of her. For choosing herself for once.

🕰️ The night before her lover would be killed, she suggested to run away. Just the two of them. It was still in the alleyway where they first met, and would they still share a cigarette and more.

🕰️ Yui would be hesitant. Especially about her father and other underlying factors.

🕰️ Yui would live with that regret for the rest of her days, constantly replaying that moment in her mind.

🕰️ To this day, Yui wishes she ran away. At least then, her lover would be alive and well, and they’d be happy. Hell, she’d be happy.

🕰️ I’d like to this the woman Yui was far too in love with for her own good could’ve been a human, or possibly a vampire.

🕰️ Thus making her first experiences with vampires lighthearted. And something to want and care about.

🕰️ Unlike the current, she’d reflect on the woman and not care as much as she’d realize that vampires and those of the supernatural can be good and are like any other people with goals, motivations, and aspirations.

🕰️ I’d also think that the vampire lover would be an aristocrat, further pushing how Yui can see the good in others and how her lover was different.

🕰️ it was ironic though, as what is a mortal to do when their immortal lover is dead and gone. Buried in an unmarked grave.

🕰️ Normally, it’s the immortal lamenting, so Yui always finds ways to mask the pain with this idea.

🕰️ Yui would constantly place white chrysanthemums on her lover’s grave. Which represent mourning, love, and eternal rest.

🕰️ Along with white babys breath, which symbolize everlasting love.

🕰️ I suppose it goes to show that even in death, Yui will mourn and love her immortal or mortal lover.

jonny and nastya have pretty bad medical trauma because of carmilla. jonny specifically would try to direct carmilla’s attention off the others and, seeing as she wasn’t choosy with her test subjects, it often worked. to this day, raphaella can’t wear her lab coat when jonny is getting work done or he’ll have flashbacks/panic attack.
