The portal opens right in the middle of spider society. Its warbling orange glow glimmers against the white floors as the whole squad exits the portal.

You immediately bolt towards the team, eyes looking for the familiar pair of boots to step out of it.

“Hey!” Gwen smiles, taking off her mask as she tiredly hugs you. You pat her back, and she looks at you suspiciously. “I have a feeling the welcome committee isn't just for me.”

You wince, giving her an awkward smile. “What— no way, Gwen. I'm here for you!”

“Hobie's right behind us, Y/N.” Pav says tiredly, arms stretching as your face brightens up from the mention of the punk spider.

Gwen scrunches her nose, scoffing as she lets you go. “Really? You don't even hide it well.”

You try to save face. “I'm here for…all of you.” You bounce on the balls of your feet as you hear footsteps exit out. Your smile flickers away for a second when Miles appears from the portal, rubbing along his aching wrist.

Miles notices along with Gwen and Pavitr. “‘I’m glad you're safe, Miles!’” He mocks your voice. “Really, you don't even hide it anymore.”

“That's what I said!” Gwen agrees, huffing with her hands placed on her hips.

The familiar thump of the pair of boots has you turning towards the source, arms gravitating to the pair of arms ready to receive you.

“It's just hurtful, y’know— oh come on!”

The trio turns to you and Hobie, embracing like you haven't seen each other in years. When in fact that you literally saw him before he went on the mission, and was hugging you just like this.

His chin is propped atop your head, arms squeezing you and slightly lifting you up on your feet while you hide in the crook of his neck. He smells of post battle adrenaline and coconut from his (Pav’s) oil.

“How's my favourite spider?” Hobie says, eyes darting towards the three, who are brooding in place. He clearly did that on purpose, where's the lie though when he's wrapped around your finger.

“Good,” you say against his skin, lips barely brushing along his neck, and barely appropriate for ‘just friends.’ “I broke my record at the training grounds.” Leaning away to his disappointment, your smile has his slight frown fade away. “The tip you gave me worked really well!”

“Augh, get a room already.” Miles says in disgust while Gwen acts like she's gonna barf.

“I think it's sweet!” Pav exclaims while you and Hobie are stuck in your little bubble of affection.

Gwen and Miles stare Pav down.

“Really? It disrupts the friend group.” Gwen argues.

Miles loops his arm over Gwen's shoulder, nodding along. “I agree!”

Pav gives them a look. “Hypocrites!”

They continue to argue in the background while Hobie's arms are still around you. The continuous hugs remind you of those stuffed animals with the long arms and velcro on them so they'd stick to your clothes and hug you the entire time. Hobie's hugs feel the same, soft and comforting. Without the prick of velcro of course.

“D’you think they'll stop arguing?” You ask, head lifting up to gaze into his warm eyes.

Hobie beams at you, hand placed in the back of your head while his nose nudges your temple. “Maybe once we tell ‘em that we're datin'”

“Date, we went on one date.” You correct him, but your bashful grin and clammy hands that are still holding on to him says that there will be more in the future.

“It would be plural if someone confessed a lot sooner.” A smirk plays on his lips as you smack his chest playfully, palm hitting hard muscle underneath his suit. You suddenly feel incredibly warm. “They're right, you didn't hide it very well.”

“Y–You know why!”

“No, I don't.” His lopsided smirk says otherwise. He's playing with you, and you're loving every minute of it. “Can you tell me again, just like last night?”

HIWTHI cast's reaction to reader's journal

Marcus feels like a complete and utter failure as a father. No matter how cold or stern he is with his children, he does love all of them with everything in him. So the fact that you feel like a burden? That you felt like a waste of space in your own home? He hangs his head in shame.

Doesn't even bother with asking why you didn't speak up, he's well aware that this is his own shortcoming. It's his fault, that's the simple truth of the matter.

Once you are back home, you're required to start therapy. He'll even let you do in person instead of online if you promise to actually give it a shot, Marcus legitimately wants (needs) you to get better. He has no delusions of their being an overnight change, and so he tries to go at your pace.

There's lots of long conversations, firm reminders that you are loved and of value no matter what. Especially at night, he'll sit at the end of your bed and tell you how much you mean to him. He'd go on until he's blue in the face if that's what it takes for you to believe his words.

Clara refuses to believe what she's read for a long while. She knows it's real, she has the proof held in her hands. Just... her child, her baby, was struggling with almost the same thing she was. And she didn't know. She didn't know and now they're gone.

If she wasn't worried about reader before, she's actually terrified now. The worst outcome is going through her mind, because really, what was stopping you from doing something dangerous? Clara is constantly eyeing the news, fear eating her alive.

The next time she sees you, you're getting the tightest hug. The woman sobbing into your shoulder, thanking whatever higher being that her baby is safe.

You aren't allowed to have sharp objects, unportioned medication, or anything that could be used to harm one's self anymore. Clara doesn't care, she's not leaving a chance. She knows what it's like being in that state of mind. She'll be dammed if she doesn't start acting like a mother should and protecting her child.

Jack is bawling his eyes out right away. The pen ink in your diary smudging as his tears hit the paper. You...oh god..

He feels like the shitiest person on earth, he doesn't deserve to call himself an older brother. He knew Jaiden had his struggles, and now this..

He pockets the journal. Jack reads it as some form of punishment. You suffered with this, he'll suffer with it too. When you're back home, he's trying his best to include you in everything.

Movie nights, board games, he comes up with anything and everything so you can spend time together. See? He has fun with you, he likes hanging out with you, you aren't a burden..

Theo feels bitter, resentful. At your parents, at themselves, at the fact that you felt that way. His resolve to find you becomes ten times stronger, there isn't a single doubt in their mind that you need to come home.

Much like Marcus, they'll affirm how much you're loved and wanted any chance they get. Theo cages you in their arms and mumbles praises for what feels like forever. They'll even go into morbid detail about how everyone fell apart while you were gone just to prove how needed you are.

Jaiden is tempted to rip the pages out. He goes through a rollercoaster of emotions.

At first, he's pissed. That you didn't say anything, that you didn't do anything to get help, that you just sat there and felt fucking miserable for years-

He's ashamed. Deeply, deeply ashamed.

It feels.. awkward between you. Jaiden stares constantly, like he's never seen you before. When he finally breaks down sobbing, he's willing to beg at your feet if you'd forgive him for being such a horrible big brother

Sawyer- Sawyer gets angered easily when he’s jealous, especially when someone flirts with mc? Absolutely. MC will not know who flirt with them went after that, and the only person that would know is Sawyer... He definitely is the type to be very protective and give everyone a cold glare when he is out with MC in public, even grabbing MCs waist and pulling them to his side to make it clear that mc is his and his alone. Now if MC was flirting with someone else? Sure that person would disappear but Sawyer would be enraged and couldn’t have that. He’d definitely punish mc and chain them to his bed, he wouldn’t be so forgiving and will make mc terrified of him so they never do it again.

Austin- He would not take it well at ALL. Austin would definitely hurt or kill the person that flirted with mc right in front of them but convince mc that this happened because of MC. He would be very controlling and possessive of MC and it’d get to the point to where he would not want mc to leave his house or have other friends. Austin would isolate them and control mcs every move, as he is very paranoid about losing them to someone else. If Mc tries to escape? Let’s just say it wouldn’t go too well and MC might not be able to walk again…

Dalles- He HATES sharing and absolutely refuses to. Someone flirting with mc? Next day mc would find a quite gruesome display of that person where Dalles knows MC frequents. He will confront MC about it too, asking why MC has ‘betrayed’ him. After this, Dalles would punish MC for betraying him and most likely lock them in a horse stall, occasionally checking on mc and reminding them to be good if they want to get out.

Out of all options, I don’t think mc should get on anyone’s bad side..

What IS soulstale?

Soulstale is an undertale AU where there is an expanded list of human soul traits such as apathy, vengeance, punishment, and heroism. The current story is based around the 7 original human souls (and a revived chara) that have fallen into the underground and now have to navigate their way out and grapple with hate soul infected versions of their own soul traits it also includes aspects from deltarune such as the vessel.

Question Guidelines and Other Personal Boundaries

1. Nothing sexual

2. If its directed to the runners of the account don’t ask anything too personal (where we go to school, where we live etc etc, everything else is alright)

3. No slurs or racial comments included in questions obviously (if you want to know characters ethnicities thats fine but still watch yourself)

Hobie finds you tucked in the corner of the room. You nurse a half empty glass of champagne while confetti rains down on you. The chatter of the spider society party fades in his ears as his eyes hone in on you, smile appearing on his lips the further he gets closer to you. You meet with his eyes as he dodges fellow spider people, a soft smile unconsciously appearing on your usual stoic face.

“Come ‘ere often?” He sidles up next to you, giving you some space to move away, but you don't. You've come a long way from flinching at every movement that comes close to you. He still remembers that you barely glance his way, now you're gazing into his eyes, not afraid of getting lost in them unlike him, who's drowning from the sight of it.

“I work here too, you know.”

“You get paid for this? Shit, who do I have to talk to to get my money ‘round ‘ere?”

Your laughter is soft amidst the noise of the party. Hobie's smile brightens as you accidentally nudge his shoulder with your own.

“I didn't know you could laugh, love.”

You roll your eyes, face returning to the usual look you have. “I can get angry too.”

“Really? I thought the green hulking man had that patented.”

Poking his bicep, you narrow your eyes at him. Even with the threatening look he still smiles at you, grinning even wider than before as his eyes shine with excitement. “Please, where'd you think he got it from?”

“You tellin’ me that you can get big and green too?”

Your guffaw echoes above the music, a few heads turn towards you and Hobie but they let you be with a few concerned looks at the usual stoic spider. Hobie's chest feels warm and his cheeks feel aflame as he holds onto your shoulder once you're starting to wobble on your feet, and laughing so hard that you're clutching at your stomach.

“Bloody hell, how much have you had, love?”

You chuckle, the smile remaining on your lips as you look at his warm hands on you and over to his handsome face. Plucking a confetti off of his head, you step closer, an unprecedented act from you that has Hobie inhaling deeply.

“Enough to find you funny.”

“That hurts,” you laugh again. “That really hurts, love! I felt my heart breakin’—” you suddenly place your palm on his chest, and his breath gets stuck in his throat.

“It's still beating, Hobie. It means that it's still whole.” Just like how he taught yours was, underneath all the ice and cold façade, he managed to chisel his way into yours. It took some time, but he's a patient man.

Hobie's exhale trembles as his hand inches towards your waist, shaking with trepidation until you wretch his hand towards you, tugging at him until his hand cups your hip. He lets out a whimpered swear.

“You okay over there?” You ask, head tilting teasingly.

“You’re—” he lets out a breath, palm reaching to your cheek, knuckles grazing along your jaw as you lean against his touch.

“Am I what?”

“Stunnin'.” He says breathlessly.

For once, he has you flustered. “How much did you have, Hobie?”

“I didn't drink.”

A grin spreads across your lips. “I didn't either,” you raise your glass. “This is apple juice.”

Hobie chortles, laughing together with him in tandem as you two hold each other in that little corner of the society.

Marcus is deeply ashamed of himself, partially because he hates the fact that he hasn't done enough to show you he cares and partially because this has essentially happened before.

Part of why the twins went staunchly no contact upon moving out was because Jack is a transman, and figured he wouldn't get any support from your parents for his transition. He was especially wary about Clara's reaction since he was her only daughter at some point, but all that nervousness ended up being for nothing!

Your dad will never admit this, but he was basically begging to take Jack to the barbershop for his first haircut. Even if they had a severely rocky relationship, he was happy to welcome his son. He'll be just as happy to welcome his child. Marcus is already filling out the paperwork for your name change, just give him the word and he'll have your new documents in no time

Clara truly feels terrible. She starts to analyze any conversation you've had with her (however few) to see when she could've said something to make it seem like she wouldn't be supportive. No matter what goals you have, however you want to present, she's right behind you in getting there.

She'll buy you a whole new wardrobe if your clothes aren't right for you, anything and everything that make you more comfortable. If someone like your peers at school are giving you a hard time, Clara is finding out who they are and making sure their future employers are aware of that behavior. (She's completely cut off family that were nasty about Jack's transition, the women has no problem ruining some assholes future.)

Jack and Theo are disappointed that they weren't safe people for you, if anything they feel the most guilty out of everyone.

Theo is quickest to jump to your defense, being used to already doing that for their twin. They more than likely relate to you a lot, being nonbinary as well! If you ever need to talk, they're right there to listen or just to be a shoulder to lean on. Jack becomes your number one hype man, he'll feel incredibly honored if you ask him for advice or help with things. (He probably tears up..)

Jaiden feels like an asshole because admittedly, he had some internalized homophobia when he was younger that could have attributed to how his baby sibling feels.

He has worked on that part of himself since and is fully supportive!! He's very awkward at first just because he feels bad, but he really does want to be there for you.

He's very aggressive towards people he thinks are being rude, even if what they said was an honest mistake, Jaiden will get in their face about respecting his little sibling either way. The older boy would be all too eager if they decided to make it physical, he does love a fight but secretly he also wants to look cool protecting you

How does certain cast members, specifically Storm, Calliope, Gabriel and Henry act like when they're jealous?—

Storm becomes very obsessive and possessive when he’s jealous. Most likely stealing all of MCs time so the person that is the cause of his jealousy is no longer there, hoping mc will forget them with time once that person no longer shows up anymore as well. He tries to keep his smile around MC and the new person but it’s so hard for him to smile with how much anger he holds towards the new person.

Calliope will most likely be possessive and want all MCs time too, being clingy. ‘You should sleep over, it’s scary out there at night!’ Or ‘Will you stay with me tonight, I hate being alone’ she says hoping MC will stay at her place. She wants Mc’s eyes and MC on her. She will most likely pop the tires of the person that caused her jealousy’s car and go on about her day skipping and shopping. If asked about it? She didn’t do a thing, just tripped and her hazardous purse fell on the ground, happening to cut all the tires!

Gabriel is more of the one that will call MC into his office a lot and make MC run errands to keep MC busy from the new person. He hates seeing MC talk to them and will even sometimes call MC at night to ‘check on their well-being’ and he does want that but he also wants to hear their voice. He wants the call to linger for so long… Gabriel would also find a way to move the new person to another department so fast.

Henry would try to hang out with MC more and send the new person on various errands and tasks just to keep them away from MC. Henry would try so hard to invite MC out to eat, to hang, all of the above just to keep MC from not talking to the new person. When he sees MC talking to the new person, he bites his pen in frustration and anger watching from his desk. He would definitely try to find a way to get the new person fired
