Who is the main character of your wip and what can you tell me about them?

Thalia Blackthorne: 22 years old, born near the beginning of winter. Daughter of King Alaric and Rosalind Blackthorne, sister of Ash and Linden. Favorite color: green Favorite food: bread of any kind Favorite hobby: exploring and gardening

Growing up, Thalia lived with her family in the town of Windfell, the capital city of Gaeloria. Alaric was a high-ranking military official who was away from home often, leaving Rosalind to care for the three children. Thalia, the youngest, loved spending time with her mother in the garden behind the apothecary, which was run by Rosalind and Imema Sunlow. Rosalind and Imema were best friends, so it was fate that would make their daughters, Thalia and Needa, as close as sisters. Needa and Thalia spent their childhood exploring the woods outside of Windfell, imagining their futures as explorers seeking adventures in new lands.

Thalia's father has always harbored a deep hatred for Mystics, or magic-users, but she's never understood why. They lived among them as standard citizens, just with gifts that others didn't have. Imema was a Mystic, with a keen gift for creating elixirs and potions that would sell at the apothecary. While Rosalind taught Thalia how different plants and herbs were used as medicines and poisons, Imema was also able to create powerful healing potions that could aid any of the wounded that came through their doors. How her father could hate someone so warm and kind was beyond her.

The coup was led by Alaric and an army of his Mystic-hating compatriots, which led to chaos through Windfell. Alaric overthrew the sitting king, King Eamon, and established himself Iron King of Gaeloria. His first order: all Mystics were to be eliminated. Some were able to escape, but others were not so lucky. People Thalia knew and loved were being hanged in the streets, and it wasn't until her mother was led into the gallows alongside Imema that she learned that she was a Mystic as well.

After watching their mothers killed in a public display of gruesome power, Thalia and Needa took over the Apothecary. Thalia now lives in the apartment above the store, while Needa stays in her family home. Her brothers stay with their father in the castle, but after a year of his rule Thalia is fed up with her father's reign of terror. She has sworn that she will never forgive him for what he has done, and plans her escape.

Her escape comes earlier than anticipated, however, once she learns that she herself has now been chosen by the Magics to be imbued...she is a Mystic and now that she has been gifted with power, she must learn to use it in secret in order to survive her father's new order and protect the people she still has.

Olympics AU Info dump!

First, I am blown away by how much love the series is getting, thank you all so much! I do really enjoy all the comments and reactions in the tags. Know that they all delight me and the only reason I don’t reply to everything is because there are so many! But I read them all 💕

General questions:

Can you draw the designs or concepts? Write fanfic in this AU?

Do they all know each other?

At first, I would say no- with the exception of Nico and Will (they’re developing a whole backstory in my head that I cannot and will not stop.). But they all meet in the Olympic Village after the opening ceremonies and quickly become friends. They all try their best to attend each other’s events. (Someone please tell me how Percabeth becomes a thing. Please. 🙏 )

Why didn’t Percy win gold?

Percy was an Olympic medalist in swimming before moving to diving. After competing in several swimming events and feeling like they were all just small variations of the same thing, he wanted more of a challenge. He chose diving to stay rooted in to the water, but to add a new dimension to his bodily awareness and control.

What’s Annabeth and Luke’s rivalry?

They most definitely trained together, and it was Luke’s skill that motivated Annabeth to aim for the Olympics. But, she wanted to compete for her home country, Greece, which Luke thought was just a shortcut since there was a clearer path to an Olympic team in a smaller country. Annabeth is constantly trying to prove to him that she would have made it to the top of the sport either way.

Also, apologies to the IRL fencers out there for the inconsistency. I know fencing is a gendered sport, and Annabeth’s gear/style are inconsistent, please forgive the oversight ☺️🫶

Volleyball?

The whole Hunters of Artemis are a volleyball team (that apparently has no country 😅). Thalia ends up the captain. When Reyna moves on from tennis they welcome her with open arms.

Rejected sports

Will as a runner. Canonically, he’s super fast, but just having him as a sprinter didn’t fit with his personality.

Will as a pole vaulter. Specifically the guy that lost because he was ‘blessed a little too much’ and knocked down the bar. I will not explain further.

Will as a gymnast. He was this || close to being a gymnast essentially modeled after Steven Nedoroscik, I had the sketch and everything. (I shared it here!) But when an anyonomous ask clued me into the sick medical team uniforms it all fell into place from there. (Thank you no-longer-anon @helyeahmangocheese !)

Percy in anything equestrian related. I see him not having the patience for all the formality of it all, but he definitely crashes Hazel’s shows and chats up all the competition (the horses.)

Annabeth on a sailing team. Also, related to that, Reyna on a sailing team. It was a fun idea, especially for Reyna and her history with pirates but ultimately it was really hard to capture in a few illustrations.

Nico in several winter sports. For consistency mostly. He could fit for a lot of winter sports - ice skating and snowboarding are my personal favorites.

Leo as a shooter. He would most definitely build his own gear and make tweaks to his weapon. Which would get him immediately disqualified.

Jason in discus. Jason as a basketball player. Golf is just… fitting. 😂

You write such good fem percy fics 😭😭 do you have any tips on how to write a good genderbend percy or just any headcanons that you have for fem percy??

Thank you! 💕 First things first: Write however and whatever you want. What I imagine will be different from others imagine and that's totally okay. I don't really have any specific tips, but I do try to keep Percy's best and worst traits and then I just ask myself: what would happen if it was a girl thrown into an inherently misogynistic mythological world? And then I just go from there lmao

I do, however, have some fun Fem!Percy headcanons:

- You cannot look me in the eye and not tell me that there's no gods trying to get freaky. Rick Riordan writes for children ofc, so he wouldn't include that, but if the books were for adults, you bet your ass Percy would find himself being eyed by multiple gods

- Percy in the books wasn't really fashion-conscious, but I imagine Fem!Percy, outside of camp where she wears the camp shirts, would take a bit of an interest in it. I also imagine her fit would have some 90s influences. Think Buffy or Rachel Green. High-waisted anything, mom jeans, skirt + knee-high boot combo, flannel, denim overalls, denim in general, crop tops, leather jackets/pants, a 90s lip combo, etc. She'd totally rock that.

- Percy isn't a bookworm, but I do have this headcanon of any version of Percy taking interest in audio books solely because of Sally's love for writing.

- Fem!Percy knows how to dance. She definitely got some moves. She religiously watched MTV music videos as a kid and danced along with Sally to Destiny's Child. In fact, they'd have dance parties whenever Gabe was out.

- She has an even more distant relationship with Poseidon. Not because of anything in particular. But because Poseidon has no idea how to handle a mortal daughter. He was completely helpless when he found out Sally was having a girl.

- On the other hand, Percy's really tight with Thalia and they got their belly buttons pierced together before the events of Titan's Curse. Thalia would probably the one Percy would go to clubs with and not just because Thalia can conveniently use the Mist to get them in. Ofc, Zeus and Poseidon have no idea what their daughters are up to whenever they're out and about together.

- Percy in the books had a short-lived thing for Calypso and Rachel (but also not really because Annabeth), but fem!Percy was crushing hard on them. Calypso was her first kiss.

More Zodi Facts!!💕

Her full legal name is Celeste Talia Stien. Which roughly should mean "Celestial, dew from heaven, stone"- so she was very blatantly named after The Celestial Tear. Which she hates.

The name she ends up choosing for herself is Raine Thalia Francessca Stien

Her personality at first is a bit standoffish, bitter, angsty, almost like Cassandra. She avoids physical touch, and is generally kind of broody. Note: this is at FIRST. While she's still going by "Zodi" (unless she's with Varian and Quirin)

She eventually learns that all that was just a front to protect herself. She LOVES affection, and she's starved of it. (Of course if Varian and his father that help her realize this, the first sources of true familial warmth she's had since being little)

Once she learns how to say "I love you" she never stops saying it.

She has PTSD, abandonment issues, and jealousy issues because of her childhood history. She's terrified of being alone again.

She might have Jewish ancestry.

She freedives in her downtime, and loves seafood. Especially things like sushi, urchin, & salmon roe.

Because of the PTSD she has trouble sleeping on her own. She medicates the PTSD to help her sleep better, but the best medicine for her is someone just simply being by her side.

Eventually she learns that her parents aren't dead. They just abandoned her. So she stops going by Celeste (Which she switches to in season 2) and refuses back to Zodi (that's her thief name! That isn't who she is! She was never a big fan of 'Zodi' OR 'Celeste' anyway). So for a time, and the majority of her post-series story, she is completely nameless. Until the end, and she comes to peace while sitting with Varian under a tree, and it starts to rain. Her search for a name is over that day. It just felt....right, for her. Like naming herself after the moment she finally found peace.

Her view of Eugene is 'big brother' in a very literal sense. She can just forget that he ISN'T related to her.

She is scary good with animals. She befriends a bear and names it Hilda. (And a fox she names Fern (a boy fox!). And a Phoenix, named Sphinx. And an opposum....Scout. And a barn owl, Ophelia. and 3 snakes. She actually hunts snakes to collect venom but the ones she befriends aren't venomous)

She accidentally meets the Wreck It Ralph Princess criteria in multiple ways.

She smells like a combination of herbs, earth, ocean salt, and sweet.

I associate her with green apple. (which kinda got me obsessed with green apple shampoo & candy ngl lol).

Hi! My name is Thalia and I’m 19! I’ll be pursuing my degree in Astrophysics next year and of course continuing my research here on Astro tumblr!

I am an ENFP 3w4 and a Pisces rising (how ironic 😩)

Some of my hobbies besides astrology are art which I’ve been doing since I was 12. Funny enough it was to spite the girl who I was in a trio friend group with because she tried excluding me so I started practicing to become better at the only thing she was good at (don’t do this I struggle with basic composition now 😔 yes I have Pluto in the 10th😝)

I am also a very big book nerd 🫡 My favorite book is ‘Perfume: the story of a murderer’ by Patrick Süskind, it’s a little bit of a freaky read so discretion is advised 😭 I’m currently reading ‘Babel’ by R.F Kuang and I’m trying to finish Wuthering heights 😔 (btw listen to wuthering heights by Kate bush I just know it’s gonna go viral next year 😭)
