however much i'd prefer you alive, i want to cut you up and store you away so that nobody else can ever see you. you're too pretty for that.

i would cut off or tear out your hair and keep it in a bag so that its shine doesn't go to waste. i would keep it under the sunlight so it can always glow the way you did in life. i'd study some of the strands so i could know the conditions of things in your life before i put you away.

i would gouge your eyes and move the jar around the house intermittently so you'd always have something new to look at. they would never be placed by an uncovered window so that you don't look at anyone else or vice versa.

i would organise your bones in order so that i could keep you compact and portable but reassemble you to share my space with. there would even be a chair specifically for you to sit in, made of a soft material so you're comfortable and it doesn't erode your remains. no guest, if any, would be allowed to touch that chair so they don't contaminate it.

i would tear your organs out of their cavities and store them. your heart would be given the most care of all, and i would preserve as much of your veins and arteries with it as i could. your blood would be extracted from them and placed in a clear but airtight container so that it would never dry up and i could always see the colour that let you live.

your flesh is the trickiest since the meat would certainly rot unless dried. the skin could be preserved, perhaps as something i could put on the wall, but your muscle content wouldn't fare well as easily. i would have to skin you and cook the rest.

i'd try to keep all of you for as long as i could, but keeping you whole wouldn't be very easy or effective. let's hope you can cooperate through this first section, shall we?
