Youâve been ignoring him for days. Whatever he did (or didnât do), you made it very clear you werenât in the mood to talk. William, at first, tried to brush it off with his usual arroganceâ "Oh, so we're givin' the silent treatment now? Cute."âbut now? Itâs driving him insane.
So here you are, lying on your bed, scrolling through whatever you can just to avoid thinking about him. And thenâ
Thereâs a faint shuffling noise.
You ignore it.
Then⊠a soft, almost suspiciously playful voice pipes up from the other side of your bed.
ââŠHey, bun. You still mad?â
You freeze. That wasnât Williamâs usual voice. It was⊠higher-pitched. Unnaturally chipper. And then, very slowlyâ
A pair of big, floppy yellow ears peek over the edge of your bed. Followed byâ
Springbonnie. Or, wellâ a stuffed plush version. Held up directly in front of Williamâs face.
His hands carefully wiggle the plush like a damn puppet. "Ah, love, donât be mad! Y'know Willy didnât mean itâheâs just got a big olâ dumb brain!"
You stare.
William is literally hiding behind a Springbonnie plush, slowly inching closer, his fingers gripping its little arms like a ridiculous sock puppet.
If you donât react, he escalates.
The plush suddenly moves to pat your arm. "C'mon, sugarâwonâtcha smile for me? Just a liâl one?"
And then, because heâs an absolute menaceâhe starts bouncing the plush closer.
Boop. Right against your forehead.
"Boop! Boop! Forgive Willy, pretty please?"
You break.
The smallest, tiniest laugh escapes you, and immediatelyâthe plush drops. William pounces on that reaction like a starved man.
"A-ha! There it isâknew you couldnât stay mad forever, love."
And before you can deny it, heâs already climbing onto the bed beside you, smug as hell.
"Y'know, if you ignored me any longer, I was this close to pullinâ out the full Springlock suit. You wouldn't stand a chance, sweetheart."
âŠYou believe him.

Headcanon: William Calls You "Bunny"
William Afton is not the type to use generic, saccharine nicknames like "darling", "sweetheart", or "lovebug". No, he needs something personal. Something that is both mocking and affectionate, something that rolls off his tongue with that signature smirk of his.
So he calls you "Bunny." Or sometimes, "Little Bunny."
And at first? It seems like just a joke. A reference to his own association with rabbitsâSpringbonnie, the costume, the animatronics. You roll your eyes, thinking heâs just being himself, playing into his usual brand of teasing.
But the truth?
Why He Chose "Bunny" For You
ð He finds you "small and twitchy." It doesnât matter if youâre actually small or notâcompared to him, most people feel small. And sometimes, when you're caught off guard, flustered, nervous, your little reactions remind him of a rabbitâthe way your eyes widen, the way you freeze for a second, the way you sometimes hesitate before deciding to act.
ð Rabbits are softâbut fast. William sees you as gentle, warm, but not weak. Rabbits may look delicate, but they bolt when they need to. They know when to run, when to fight, when to be cautious. He respects that about youâeven if he never says it out loud.
ð It amuses him to "claim" the rabbit title for himself first. Springbonnie is his thing. The rabbit motif? His. So calling you "Bunny" is his way of saying: "You're mine now, too. You fit into my world, whether you like it or not."
ð Thereâs a possessive undertone. He never says it too sweetly. Itâs always a bit of a purr, a drawl, a lazy smirk. Like he knows something you donât. Like he enjoys the idea of owning something soft.

It is a nickname only he gets to use. And you will never hear him use it on anyone else.

William Afton is a man who chooses his words carefully. He is calculated, always speaking with a purposeâwhether that purpose is to manipulate, to mock, or to genuinely (albeit begrudgingly) care.
So when it comes to nicknames, he has a way of using them differently depending on who he's talking to and how he feels about them.
For You â "Bunny" (Affectionate, Possessive, Personal)
"Little Bunny," or simply "Bunny," is yours alone. Itâs his way of claiming you, teasing you, acknowledging your presence in his life. Even if he acts like itâs just a joke, itâs laced with a strange, possessive tenderness.

For Others â Tricking, Taunting, and Belittling

"Kiddo," "Little one" â Not affectionate. Demeaning. He talks down to them like theyâre insignificant.
"Sweetheart, Darling" â Not romantic. Mocking, cruel. He only uses these if he wants to make someone feel small and powerless.
The Difference Between You and Them
With you, he calls you "Bunny" because itâs his, itâs yours, and it means something.
