I just had this AU idea all day today and I am so brainrotted right now that I need to put this down on a post. I haven't figured out a whole lot but at least it's enough to get the idea.

L'Opéra Numérique

(or The Amazing Digital Opera)

- A TADC AU that's heavily inspired by Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera but not verbatim

- Reeks of Showtime, as Pomni and Caine are the two main stars: Christine Daae and Erik the Phantom

- Takes place in L'Opéra Numérique where everyone is part of a massive opera house with Caine being the Host (Opera Ghost) that "haunts" it

- L'Opéra Numérique is a literal labyrinth (🎶where night is bliiiind~🎶) and has no exit that anyone knows of; every path circles back to the main theatre

- Pomni, like the show, is the most recent arrival and becomes a wildly popular soprano, replacing Jax as the main star

- This leads to Pomni being the Host's object of affection, tutoring her in the hopes of making her a national treasure within the digital world

- While everyone plays along, Pomni becomes an "agent" for the rest of the gang in the hopes of figuring out who this Host is and how to escape the Opera

- The Gang all plan to have Pomni visit the Host, which leads to the iconic Mirror Scene as well as the Phantom's Lair and Unmasking Scene (🎶Music of the Niiiiiight!🎶)

- Unlike the source material, there is no "Raoul" for Pomni; only her newfound friends

- The main romance is the tragic love story between Caine and Pomni, where Caine obsesses over her to the point of madness and Pomni pities him despite the circumstances

- Caine as the Phantom is deformed a la abstraction, with his glowing eyes and sharp teeth exposed like a dark eldritch horror

- The Gang's plan for Pomni are all written in multiple notes, passed around by each member of the Opera as to not let Caine figure out what they're doing (🎶far too many notes for my taste...🎶)

- Of course, Caine does in fact find those notes and things go south real fucking fast.

- Since no one can die in the digital world, Caine's Punjab Lasso (noose) paralyzes the victim rather than strangle them to death

- Caine still drops the chandelier though... a few times, actually!

- When Caine hosts a Masquerade party, he reveals himself to everyone in his "Blue Screen of Death" costume (🎶 Why so silent, good monsieurs? 🎶)

- Did I mention Bubble is the Daroga in this AU? Because Bubble is the Daroga in this AU.

- So, Bubble is basically a NPC controlled by an investigator who was trying to release the missing people (Pomni and the Gang)

- Turns out Bubble and Caine knew each other personally outside of the digital world, but Caine has been the Host of the Opera for God knows how long that he has completely forgotten who he was before

- Oh yeah, Caine is NOT an AI in this AU! He was actually a game developer who was rejected multiple times until he eventually got stuck inside his own creation (I haven't gotten the full story so bear with me here)

- So while that's being revealed, Caine does his Phantom thing and writes an opera where he and Pomni fall in love (🎶Past the Point of No Return 🎶) until Pomni reveals his face

- Final Lair ensues, which leads to Bubble and the Gang being trapped and tortured until Pomni agrees to marry Caine via turning the Scorpion (the Grasshopper would crash the whole Opera)

- The story ends with Caine releasing everyone, including Pomni, and telling Bubble/the investigator how having Pomni as his bride made him remember what he had lost ("I! I! ...I kissed her! And she did not die of horror!") and thus destroying L'Opéra Numérique and himself

(Like he definitely 100% does every year! Multiple times even, just for fun!! And bc he is very extremely skilled!!!)

idk if they had income tax at that time tbh… but I feel like it would come up if Christine encouraged him go legit and negotiate a salary with the opera managers haha

Also Erik would prob be really excited about it, like “omg we are doing our income taxes together, like a HUSBAND and WIFE would!! 😍😍😍”

In my mind he gets unreasonably giddy imagining all the domestic activities that “normal spouses” might do together eg:

“we are brushing our teeth at the same sink, like a HUSBAND and WIFE!”

“She is tidying the inside of the lair house like a WIFE, while I am outside lighting the 300 candles that float on the lake like a HUSBAND!”

“My WIFE is making dinner while I do the HUSBAND task of drowning intruders feeding the siren!”

Today is a sad day for me, one that I honestly never believed I would witness. My Phan mind thought @phantomopera would outlive us all (🎶would you still play when all the rest of us are dead…🎶). Unfortunately someone decided otherwise. I first saw Phantom in 2001, but I was already fascinated (meaning obsessed) by our (mine) masked genius since reading the book when I was 11. Somehow, I’ve always related to Erik. We all have our moments of feeling as an outcast, of not belonging, of feeling unlovable. To me, Erik represents our inner strength, our resilience to survive despite all the odds, to feel with intensity (for good and for bad), to create beauty and to have a greater than life ability to love. I feel sorry for all those who can’t see beyond his mask, who can only see ugliness and his misdeeds, who mimic those who in the story, can’t show compassion to this amazing man, who I have no doubt, if he had lived, would have been the eternal ruler his chosen name suggests. He is already the eternal ruler of my life. Phantom will keep alive inside all of us who love him, his music won’t ever be silenced and he WILL BE BACK!

Petit Erik is starting a campaign for his show to reopen in NY and play forever. He’s already having posters placed everywhere so he won’t be forgotten.

🎶 - Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?

I have to say that I usually don't listen to music while I'm writing. I get kind of distracted and I'll sometimes type out the lyrics of what I'm listening to without even thinking 😅 But a song I have been listening to on loop is the French version of Do you Hear the People Sing? From Les Misérables, which is A la volonté du peuple. Please listen to it! Even if you don't speak French, it's amazing! I also recommend looking up the English translation because it hits harder than the actual English version.

⛔️ - Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?

I have a couple that I've written little drabbles for that never went anywhere, mostly because I struggled with writing it or I didn't like the idea once I had it written down. I had a Detroit: Become Human AU with android!Ben and human!George and they fall in love and it's cute. I might bring it back, but for now it'll stay tucked away in a little corner.

🌞 - Do you have a preferred time of day to write?

If I'm able to, mid afternoon is such a great time to write. There's just a chill vibe and everything is nice and quiet. But I mostly write at night because of my work and school schedule, which is also fine. I'm usually so tired by the time I start writing in the evening I'm lucky if I get a paragraph or two out before I fall asleep.

💖 - What made you start writing?

Well, I've been writing fics since I was about 12, but stopped when I was about 14, mostly because I hated what I had written and I was convinced I was a terrible writer. Fast forward a few years and my friend @ouiouixmonami gave me several gentle nudges into writing a fic and finally putting it up on ao3.

🦅 - Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

I very rarely outline my fics, mostly because I write a lot of one-shots. The most I've ever written are three chapters and that's only because I can't fit all the things I want to write into one chapter without it feeling clunky. I do have an outline for a much longer Phantom of the Opera fic starring omega!Raoul and alpha!Erik. It's even got a table of everyone's ages, height, and whether or not they are an alpha, beta, or omega. Otherwise I'll just sit down and write things out until I'm happy with it.

👀 - Tell me about an up and coming wip please!

I'm currently working on a follow up to my last fic, Lean On Me. The basic idea is that Raoul is going to be introducing Erik to Philippe for the first time, though Raoul has a teeny tiny secret that he doesn't want to reveal to his big brother quite yet, but the beans will be spilled before the day is over.

🤩 - Who is your favorite character to write?

That's so hard to decide because I love writing almost everyone! Currently my favorite to write is Raoul. He can be so goofy and whiny to write, but he so deeply loves Erik and only wants his lover to understand how deep that love goes. One I'm looking forward to writing in the future is a certain cynic from Les Mis because I think we're gonna vibe together pretty well.

🤲 - Would you please share a snippet of a wip?

Here's an itty bitty paragraph from my latest wip. Enjoy!

He hated waking up these last few weeks. Every morning was the same. He would wake up sick to his stomach and would usually expel whatever contents were in it. He would feel a little better afterwards, but the acidic taste of vomit would linger in his mouth and he often felt too weak to get out of bed right away. He honestly didn’t know what he would do without Erik. His alpha would rub his back while Raoul would empty his stomach into the chamber pot, whispering soothing nonsense to help distract him. Then he would help Raoul get comfortable in bed again and give him a gentle kiss on the cheek before leaving to prepare a cup of ginger tea and some dry toast to help settle his stomach.

Okay, story time.

My sweet mother was kind enough to warn me today that she was having a lady with small children over to pick up a couch that she is selling. Now, the reason she warned me is because she knows other small kids I’ve been around have pointed out my acne and asked what’s wrong with my face and she didn’t want me to get embarrassed again. So, she said I could hide out in my room while they were here, if I wanted to. The Arcana Main Six + MC as The Phantom of The Opera Characters

It's Masquerade time, bitches.

I must admit, I have an unhealthy obsession with The Phantom of The Opera. And therefore, it was only a matter of time before I came up with this idea. The 2004 movie is like one of the best things I've ever watched in my entire life (but I also like the theater plays), and Gerard Butler is incredibly hot (have you seen those thighs?). This was the straightest thing I've ever said.

If you haven't watched the movie, then this is your sign to do it.

As I stated in my previous post, there's something going on with my left eye, and I'm in pain whenever I look at the screen. Right now, I'm feeling better, so I wrote this real quick. With this eye issue going on, it takes me longer to write the requests that you all have sent me, but I'm working on them. My requests are still open if anyone has ideas, but yeah, I'm taking my sweet time.

I would also like to thank everyone for their support and for all the requests you've sent me. It feels incredible and very motivating.

I'm not sure if anyone in the Arcana fandom is interested in POTO, but I had fun writing this, so it was worth it.

With that being said, we shall now progress to the good stuff before my cat sits on me and prevents me from moving.

Come on; it's the obvious choice.
