Spent all morning crying over Song Lan WOW. Absolutely miserable hours. Just fucking terrible. Just thinking of him hurting is enough to put me out of sorts (because whose fault was that? ๐) so that's great. We're like three years into this shift and this still happens, that's hilarious. I guess it means I had a positive character arc?

I don't really think this counts as a fond canon thing, since nothing changed and it was really miserable all around, but I just wanted to thank Song Lan (again). He didn't ask to be there, he didn't want to be there, and he shouldn't have been there. I was nothing but cruel to him and, frankly, had no real incentive to be otherwise. It was hate at first sight, and I took it too far, as we all know. I was a monster. I don't need to say it again, and that's not why I'm writing this. I'm writing it because I can look back now and feel differently about everything. I can look back and see things for what they were.
Thank you, Song Lan. For saving them. For not giving up on Xiao Xingchen. For taking A-Qing with you. For everything, really, even though putting it that way seems distasteful. Thank you for giving me a chance now, too. For letting me make it better, even if just a little. It can't have been easy.
I know I've sent asks like this before, but it bears repeating. Somehow, just knowing you makes me want to be better. I wish I'd known you properly back then, even if there's no guarantee I would've been good for you. You might have not changed things then, but you did change them now. I think that counts for something.
