hmm I think in murder orel au where orel is doing the "like a father like a son" thing heee's not thaaaat idk depressed? I mean HE IS. But unlike Clay he truly loves his life. He loves his work, everyone loves him at work, the whole town loves him. This one guy who would pat a dog or will help an old lady to go through the street. Golden Boy. But at the same time, events, that happened in his childhood affected (on?) him like a lot. I think he struggles with anxiety and some depressive episodes. Despite all his sad thoughts, Orel still tries to see only positive things, believing that everything will be okay because that's the thing that makes him go further.

On the other hand, Christina. I was thinking about her leaving her abusive family after she turned 21 but since her family is eeeh patriarchal(not sure if I used the right word but you got it)they didn't let her get another education after school because "why do you need that, you'll be a mother and a housewife" so she's working as a waiter in some kind of cafe(not a fancy one but yk... where you can order some sandwiches or idk man) and rent some small apartment. She avoids her family so she decided to move, maybe in Moralton because Orel could help her there.

In my hc she has bpd, and it was making her life much complicated since she was a teen. I imagined her and Orel trying to kiss or something as they were teens, or Christina trying to kiss Orel, but he got too shy which made Christina cry and feel angry because "what is wrong with me? You don't think I'm good enough? You don't love me?" Or her having a mental breakdowns at toilet room where she would beat herself just because she needs to feel better. stupid as hell but this is how your head works during it.

Orel hates it when Christina doesn't want to take her pills. Orel feels sad when Christina says that she's not what he needs. Mostly because Orel idealizes her, remembering times when she was a kid that behaved like a "proper christian girl" that could be a good future wife and a mother of his kids, just like God said. She could be so happy with him but Christina doesn't give him a chance. It makes him almost angry! Like, oughghhgh why do you need to make it so complicated!!!
